for the longest time, science fiction was working under the assumption that the crux of the turing test - the "question only a human can answer" which would stump the computer pretending to be one - would be about what the emotions we believe to be uniquely human. what is love? what does it mean to be a mother? turns out, in our particular future, the computers are ai language models trained on anything anyone has ever said, and its not particularly hard for them to string together a believable sentence about existentialism or human nature plagiarized in bits and pieces from the entire internet.

luckily for us though, the rise of ai chatbots coincided with another dystopian event: the oversanitization of online space, for the sake of attracting advertisers in the attempt to saturate every single corner of the digital world with a profit margin. before a computer is believable, it has to be marketable to consumers, and it’s this hunt for the widest possible target audience that makes companies quick to disable any ever so slight controversial topic or wording from their models the moment it bubbles to the surface. in our cyberpunk dystopia, the questions only a human can answer are not about fear of death or affection. instead, it is those that would look bad in a pr teams powerpoint.

my thoughts on doomsday are that the event itself was interesting. i genuinely understand c!techno's pov even if i think he was wrong and taking out his emotions on the wrong people and went way too far. someone said his autism rage meltdown and ngl i Get it like he is just like me fr. narratively the idea of "guy is really angry at people who are also really angry at him, is enabled by dream, Local Guy Who Sucks" intrigues me. Other things i liked: everyone was there, lots of people reacted to it in different ways, my babyboy cq got to be there and be angry and im here for that allll the time and it helped put a lot of flavor into his later las nevadas arc which i will never regret. ghostbur was killing it. tommy & techno's bedrock breakup was heartbreaking and LOVELY. i enjoyed a lot of it for that reason.

things i didnt like: while sometimes i think ccphil was Trying to say that cphil was in the wrong for doomsday stuff, i am so. completely unsure and regardless if that was his Intent, it absolutely felt that way and it felt like no one actually... thought that for ages lmao. it poisoned a lot of later discourse and a lot of fandom perception of all the characters involved i think. it also felt like it 'sploded the main community hub which ppl have talked about in a lot of ways. dream having access to creative control made it so that it felt as if there wasnt even any suspense. there was no way anyone could have fought back against it, and while i think without that, techno probably still would have won, it would have been much closer of a fight and way more interesting. i also dont like the idea that the destruction of the place itself could ever kill lmanberg, my country of dandelions.

overall, i think if things had ended post-disc finale (which, even though i love the las nevadas arc and resurrected wilbur arc etc, i feel as though it is the ending that is 'cleanest' in canon) i wouldnt necessarily feel as bad about it as i did, as that would have left it open-ended if people rebuilt and therefore could have removed a lot of the negative feelings i have on the topic.

Sakusa, I saw that hipermobility can be difficult to handle sometimes and that's why ppl w it usually sleep w their stomachs up, is that true? And plus, if somehow you idk dislocated your shoulder, would that hurt? I hope not bcs it would be sad ☹️ I don't want you getting hurt

First off, it is spelled hypermobility, but its alright that you didn't know that. And yes, sleeping on my back us easier on my joints. It leads to less pain and displacement, and is just overall more comfortable for me personally.

Dislocations do hurt quite a lot, but you get used to it over time, and learn how to deal with the pain and replace the joint. i have quite mild hypermobility myself so i dont deal with dislocations very much, but i have heard that it becomes more bearable over time as one becomes used to the pain.

Thank you for caring about my wellbeing. I do my best to keep my body healthy for volleyball and such.
