I hate to tell you this but both your asks about ofmd are in fact in the ofmd tag cause tumblr is wack and puts posts that even mention something in the tags in the main tag. so that’s probably how people are seeing it (I don’t usually engage with stuff like this but I saw you asking why that person found it so I thought I’d let you know, I often see stuff in main tags that I know was meant to just be a personal rant and I always wonder if people making those posts know that the fandom can see them) ok ramble over sorry that was long

tsukasa: writes his name EVERYWHERE. his desk at school has "tsukasa" "tsukasa" "tsukasa" "tsukasa" written all over it, his notebooks too and even his classmates' notebooks (from a classmate)

shizuku: says "oh, madonna!" instead of "oh god" (from my italian grandpa)

saki: tsukasa rides a bike and saki sits on the handlebar & every time they have to stop they fall off but they just get up and go on like nothing's happened (from an old friend)

mizuki: accidentally sends "penis shaped messages" and immediately points it out (me)

ena: is so fucking done with mizuki's penis messages (my friends)

kanade: "uhh i think I'm forgetting something? oh well it probably wasn't important" hasn't drank water since yesterday (me again)

rui: extremely verbose, to the point where everyone around him thinks he's some sort of philosophical genius but in reality he's just saying dumb shit and articulating it intelligently (my italian grandpa again so sorry)

an: sends her friends "hot milfs in your area" messages pretending to be a bot because silly and immediately gets banned ( @robinoullea literally)

airi: wants to be supportive but types way too quickly ( @robinoullea trying to say "10/10")

mafuyu: has the most DERANGED dreams I'm not even kidding ( @robinoullea when he had that one dream where he sent me a tiktok meme of Richard Watterson saying the names of popular pornstars with them flashing on screen for a second each. I've cried real tears about this btw)

kohane: has a chicken farm in minecraft but she's so attached to them that she can't kill any of them for food so they just keep reproducing and in turn the server keeps getting laggier. eventually a creeper explodes right next to it and she throws herself off a mountain (me)

haruka: uses the default pfp which is also the pfp that shows when you get blocked by someone. she also turns her phone off often (which causes messages to not get sent until it's on) so minori always panics and sends her messages to make sure she's not blocked (classmate)

akito: makes gagging noises on purpose because it makes ena gag too and get VERY annoyed and he finds it funny (classmate)

toya: unintentionally causes a lot of fights in vbs regarding what the best way to make coffee is (my whole friend group) (except me i do it on purpose)

honami: whenever someone tags her in l/n's group chat she heroically says "who calls for my help?" ( @robinoullea )

porco helps her get over it by really involving her with the pregnancy. he lets her sit on his lap when he's reading to your belly, gets her to feel when the baby is kicking, and gets her to help choose what colour to paint the baby's room and what toys to get for him

and when you give birth to the second baby, and porco holds him for the first time, he realizes that he doesn't have to even think about making room in his heart for another child because it's already been there this whole time 🥺 this man is a blubbering mess in the delivery room for both kids, i swear

when your kids get old enough to start talking back, porco gets really annoyed but like -- who does he think they learned it from?? 💀

Ugh okay. Some thoughts. I have specifically tagged this as soto critical so that if you enjoyed it, you know what you're getting into. These are my opinions. If you enjoyed it I genuinely am thrilled for you, no sarcasm at all, but my usual disclaimer remains that I did not. I'm not gonna come at you or attack you for enjoying it, I promise; we all have different opinions and that is good and valid.

(Not that I hated it entirely; I actually love a lot about it. I just was not thrilled with everything in the end.)

I've also specifically censored names so they don't show up in those characters tags to the best of my ability.

First I'd like to go over what I actually really did enjoy:

The new maps are visually stunning. I'm on the fence about the heavy reliance on Skyscales, but they're creative and interesting to look at and fun to explore.

Love P*itha (though not like that I just think she's Neat I need to clarify that) and the Krypt*s. Really wish we could've spent a lot more time digging into the power structure there but I like that they think WE'RE the ugly ones.

I've been gnawing on the shadiness and cult-like nature of the Astr*l Ward since the jump and am really hopeful their behavior gets treated with the gravity it genuinely deserves.

It was nice to see Z*jja again, even if my opinion of how she was handled is... well. We'll get to that below.

The W*zard Vault is a HUGE improvement over the daily system, don't @ me. Love being able to spend my fun bucks on whatever I want whenever I want without being bogged down in "ugh it's x days until I can get clovers or a tome."

I'm keeping R'tch*kk, Glade, and Z*zel. Fr*de too. And L*hr. No one can stop me.

All that being said...

Glad they admitted they bit off FAR too much. SotO felt too big for its britches after the first drop, and what could've been really interesting things got shoved into closets and out windows to make way to hurry along to the next beat. Everything was equal parts rushed and a slog, lore buried in journal and hidden text over and over and over. The pacing was absurd.

To say nothing about how miserably they flubbed Z*jja's story. What could've been a really interesting dive into what she went through as she maybe journeyed into and through Nay*s with us, her going through a will she won't she until deciding in the end that maybe ascension was the best option? Nothing. Hurriedly mind wiped off screen before the second drop even hit and shoved completely out of the narrative with barely any relevance to the story as it stood, despite how loudly anet banged the pots and pans of how super big and important her arc was.

You literally could replace her with a lamp and it would change practically nothing about the story. She wasn't even relevant to the greater story at all. Why was she even there?

To say nothing about those really juicy drops of how shady the Astral Ward was, between the bits in the fractals, G*lrath's threat, the "something has gone wrong" status effect at the end of the third drop, and none of that was followed through on.

And I say this as someone who loved the first drop immensely, liked what we were seeing, was genuinely intrigued... and then nothing.

I really wish we could've either stuck with the ward, or had the ward be barely introduced before being tossed into Nay*s and spending most of our time there so that we didn't have all this setup that felt like it dangled.

I'm glad to see they took the criticisms on the pacing and story content to heart, though, and maybe it'll improve. Still feeling a bit stung, and there's a LOT I'm still planning on rewriting (gonna tweak some stuff with the knowledge we'll be addressing the ward again... hopefully. Z*jja's still not there though sorry not sorry anet).

I'll remain cautiously optimistic in the meantime.

no okay. so the thing that makes me saddest is that Ch*nBig has soooo much potential!!! but fanon Ch*nBig just misses for me because there’s this insistence on making it romantic! imo it will never be well-characterised because (unless it’s set super post-canon in an “everyone lives” AU), to make Ch*nBig a romantic relationship you have to strip Big of one of his core traits and the motivation for most of his actions in the show - the fact that he’s in love with Kinn. it just doesn’t work for me to just take that away and pair him up with someone else, because it’s so so central to who Big is as a character.

that’s not to say that Big being in love with Kinn would mean he could never have any kind of sex life with anyone else - I write KenBig friends-with-benefits and messy feelings! I’ve rambled about VegasBig! I think there’s soooo much potential for messy, toxic Ch*nBig - Big fucking Chan because he knows it’s the closest he’ll ever get to Kinn… Chan taking advantage of his position of power and Big's unwavering loyalty, because he knows Big would never refuse an order… Chan knowing as Big drops to his knees that he's wishing it was Kinn who had ordered it… 👀 hell yeah! I love that concept!!

so, it's a bit of both imo – i've been here since 2020, shortly after book 2 dropped, so my perspective is a lot different than newer fans

so, one of the reasons i censor her name, is because tumblr changed the search functions – used to be, when you looked up something, it was only things that were in that exact word order in a tag – so if you spelled t/w/c wrong in some way, it'd only show up results that were misspelled, if that makes sense

but now, it's like if you look up any word, random posts that mention it anywhere in the post will show up too – and i would rather not open myself up to the m*shka bootlickers bc i just do not have time for that LMFAO

i rarely maintag things these days because i just don't want to be perceived by so much of this fandom, but that's just a me thing

also, in terms of what she did "wrong"... on top of problematic stuff in text, there's a few things i can think of off the top of my head:

encouraging white/washed art by reblogging on to her dev blog while knowingly having the official skintone palette locked behind a paywall (patreon)

when called out for the above, they did vet their pieces i guess – by only reblogging black and white pieces, and art of detectives. then they stopped reblogging art completely

posting a white hand for a morgan instagram edit – and taking hours to delete the harassment in the replies, some of which being actually racist comments with slurs pointed at black people

in a q&a video, referred to m as an "attack dog", which was super insensitive, considering the consistent comparison of m to an animal across all platforms (text, tumblr posts, patreon content)

her treatment of f over the years, both in text and outside of it. her asks were a huge reason that the fandom has an infantilized view of f and they don't even consider them to be a love interest (much less one that gets physically intimate). they see them as a child. this bullet point is a massive one that would take too long to explain. i could probably write an essay on how problematic it is to immediately "other" your singular black character by literally making them an otherworldly alien, but i do not have the time

how she writes nb/trans characters. from what my friends have said who code dive, they get the same dialogue and variants that women do. obviously if you don't code dive or play with nb characters you probably wouldn't notice, but there are a good chunk of people in the fandom who play with nb oc's so... this is something that should be better, but it's not

to add to the above, she said she was getting sensitivity readers but... did they do anything? look at book 3 and tell me if they actually did anything (i have a feeling maybe those sensitivity readers were white queer people)

overall, it's very hard to explain and condense the fuckery my mutuals and i have seen both m*shka do over the years, and what her fans have let slide/incidents they've coddled her up during.

sadly, she doesn't take hard stances on things. she just lets things happen and that just. doesn't bode well if your argument for all these mistakes is "ignorance". if she's getting 10k a month on patreon plus sales (not to mention the fact she's a grown ass woman), then... it's the bare minimum to ask for her to be mindful of her audience and to do better.

Talking about Jensen and Jared on “Then and Now: A Supernatural Podcast”

Well, Jensen admitted to trying to screw with Jared in the audition. As in throw him out off his groove. EDIT: Screw as in “mess with” and “sabotage”. Jensen tried to sabotage Jared’s audition by messing with his focus.

Supernatural had a low turn around for members of the crew. Jensen knew nearly all the names while Jared made passing remarks.

In "Wendigo" they talk about Dean's voice. Jensen says he was inspired by JDM after seeing the Pilot. Jared jokes about Jensen wrecking his voice, and Rich and Jensen joke that Misha had it worse.

Jared talks for nearly all of the podcast with Rob, Rich and Jensen just adding in things every so often. So the norm.

There is merciless teasing of Rob that's fun.

Jensen calls Robert Singer "dad". He says that you always knew "when Dad was on set". That Singer was brought in to control a young Kripke.

Jensen says Kripke hasn't changed much between SPN pilot and S3 of The Boys.

Jensen joked that Kripke took everything he wanted to do to Dean on SPN but couldn't because of network control and did it to Jensen on "The Boys", and Jensen has told his family to not watch "The Boys" because of it. But everyone else should watch it.

There was four months between filming The Pilot and "Wendigo". During that time Jensen and Jared did fight training.

They discussed the promotion circuit back in 2005 and how it was very radio orientated. They had to be up at 2am for interviews in America and do four hour shifts before going on to film.

The fire in the scene where Jess dies was real. They actually set the set on fire, and told the boys if they got "hot" to get the hell out of there. In one take Jensen did and he stopped saying his dialogue to say "I'm getting hot!"

Jared admitted to fanboying a little over some of the cast in the early episodes.

The boys got to meet Samantha Smith and JDM while the Pilot was being filmed.

They talked a lot about director David Nutter and how he was the "Pilot King". Any pilot he filmed got picked up. At the time of SPN he'd directed 11 pilots, and SPN was the eleventh one picked up

There was also a discussion how the crew was young when the show started, and some of them saw "three decades". aka they started in their late 20s and were in their early 40s when the show ended and they still worked there. Jensen put himself on that list.

I'm sure there's more, but those are the highlights.

I'm sorry, but I need to be a hater real quick. I'm so sick of L*dy L*liana (censored, so this doesn't show up in the tags). I'm kinda hoping she dies in the finale as a close to her arc. Like she dies protecting someone else, and the team has a nice moment with her as she dies or something. But like she just irks me so much. I do not like her. There's more to it, and I could probably discuss it further if prompted, but I'm gonna stop here.

i'm going on anon for this but that other anon talking about how there's real csem on ao3 is RIGHT. the first time i was on ao3 years and years ago exploring and reading fanfics for a really shitty show (its a long story) i was into. there was a fanfic i saw that that made me stop. the writer did some kind of crosstagging with the show and 'rpf' which left me befuddled. it was tagged for 'e' and was full of tags related to sex and stuff. there were names too (actor's names specifically), and there was one that stood out to me that felt familiar. it was a child actor in the show that i watched, i googled his name to make sure it was who i was thinking of. i can say years ago when i first found his picture i remember being horrified...that this poor REAL LIFE CHILD was written into this 'fanfiction'. this poor kid wasn't even 13-he was barely even 10 YEARS OLD. i remember so much details literally because of how much i was just disturbed that ao3 let a sexually explicit story up about a real life incredibly small child up. i had problems with rpf at the time and thought it was weird (think like L*rry shippers), but this was my tip over the age into the 'unforgivable territory'. this is the first and only time i've talked about this for so so many long ass years. ao3 users and especially proshippers cannot convince me in any way that this is 'fiction', that this is ok and allowed for 'fannish experiences'. because how in any way is this stuff created and acceptable for the 'artistic freedom'. i have seen so many terrible things on that website of real life minors. i've seen proshippers in a specific 'fandom' make sexual headcanons about how they would groom and rape a real living breathing teenaged boy for their fanfictions on that website. i'm tired of pretending this kind of thing is for 'funsies' and that's it's 'fiction' and all of these arguments about 'artistic merit' and 'sticking it to the man'. this is really long and i'm so sorry for doing your inbox dirty like this, but i'm saying this to say i understand how you feel with the pain and frustration. your opinion and traumatizing experiences with ao3 or proshippers and whatelse is valid and real. i think everyone makes mistakes and we realize the things we involve ourselves in including coping mechanisms can be bad and unhealthy and we have to take a step back and breath. don't let proshippers step over you and tell you that you are a liar when you are expressing your honest opinions.

Yeah like….I’m very big on Ao3 needing moderation for this shit. And there is moderation technically but it’s more for things like people using the wrong tags or people posting original stories and not fanfic (which is so SOOO stupid). I think Ao3 is a very important platform but it needs to get rid of the underage rpf. Call me a censorship fascist or whatever but that crosses a very BIG line for me. I don’t care if some grown up or even a teenager feels like they’re being censored for writing about a real child doing something sexual cause that could actually has ruined a person’s life.

@sedewt Sorry to pull this from the replies but I figured I should clarify for everyone: Basically, people on tiktok have a habit of censoring specific "bad" words in their video captions bcs of a(possibly incorrect) belief that the site's algorithm will punish videos with those words. People will say "unalive" instead of "kill", for instance, but also they will use replacements like "seggs" for sex, l3$bi4n instead of lesbian, that sort of thing.

Regardless of the truth of the algorithm's programming, this behavior has become so ingrained that it is spreading to other websites, and here on tumblr censoring words like that means that people who have certain things blacklisted cannot reliably avoid content they find upsetting. Like as an example, body horror and gore are legit triggers for me, so I have those tags blacklisted. But, if someone decided to post some body horror art, and, to avoid upsetting the algorithm, tagged it as "b0dy h0rr0r" I would still see the post, bcs there's no possible way for me to have every single variation on "body horror" blacklisted.

In addition to that, people who enjoy body horror and gore WON'T be able to find that art, bcs they likely are following the "body horror" and "gore" tags, and posts with mangled tags won't show up in their feed or searches, and they don't have the time to search every variation on the tag to find the content they like.

As a further example, since I know people on Twitter will misspell "commissions" bcs they think the algorithm suppresses posts asking for money, if you do that here someone looking for an artist to commission by searching for "commissions" won't be able to find your info!! Or, on the tagging side, people with photosensitivities need to be able to blacklist "eyestrain" and "flashing lights", and so if you tag something "3y3str4in" they will still see it and potentially have their health conditions triggered.

So when tagging stuff, both for people who need stuff blacklisted and people who want to find your content, you should ALWAYS tag posts with the full, actual words. There's also no real algorithm here and the one that we do have, as far as I know, doesn't give a shit if you say kill or fuck or whatever. You're just making everything harder for yourself AND others for literally no benefit at all.

The only instance where you can, and are expected to, censor your tags is if you're posting salt/hate. Like if I wanted to complain about say, idk Sasuke and Naruto as a ship, I would use a tag like "sasu//naru" instead of "sasunaru" or "n4rut0" instead of "naruto" so that my post doesn't show up in the main tag, bcs it's kinda rude to flood tags with negativity like that. I would also censor the words in my post to avoid them showing up in searches in general, or use a readmore to hide the body of the post so people have to click through to read it.

That is the ONLY time it is acceptable to censor words. The rest of the time you should always just spell out words, especially "bad" ones, bcs people can't avoid upsetting content if they can't filter it reliably. If you're worried about the "algorithm" punishing you or people seeing your post who don't want to, one, stop caring about the algorithm most of us never interact with it anyway, and two, in addition to full tags being the best for blacklists, we also have community labels for several types of mature content, so use those to your heart's content, bcs people can filter stuff with those warnings too.

TL;DR: Censoring tags like people do on tiktok breaks the website and makes everything suck for everyone, if you want to warn for content just tag the post with the full word and a community warning label bcs that's the only way people can avoid content they don't want to see and/or find content they do.
