Reasons Tommy/Buck&Tommy aren’t going away (yet);

- The 911 insta followed Lou, and they only follow mains and people who are reoccurring (and reoccur a lot)

- They also have posted two BuckTommy posts recently, showcasing them as an official couple of the show

-Both the things above have happened in the past week, whilst they’re filming ep 8 and finishing writing 9&10 which to me suggests Tommy will be in at least one of those eps.

- Tim keeps calling it a love story and a romcom, I highly doubt he’d end that after three and a bit eps. Especially after how it’s been built up.

-Oliver said that Buck and Tommy have some getting to know each other but he also said him and Lou do too. That they need to build these relationships- doesn’t sound like it’s going anytime soon.

- Lou said he was pitched an initial arc, which is normally 4 eps, but that doesn’t mean the arc can’t be extended. Especially when the reception is as good as it has been- and also they needed the wiggle room incase it was received poorly.

- Oliver also said he’d like Tommy to stay around, regardless of what happens but also said he’d like to continue their story in a similar thread to Tarlos.

-Tim and Oliver talk a lot about getting Buck off the hamster wheel, and I think him staying in a LTR would be the final part of that. Otherwise he’s still kind of on it, where he gets in and out of relationships without settling for a bit.

-This one is half joking, but Lou keeps mentioning the fact 9-1-1 has a s8 totally unprovoked 😂

The tau post was just so I could post some oc stuff =w=

Everyone meet Solomon Silverworth and his child friend travel buddy tau ‘associate’ Al’vah.

They’re a pretty simple duo and I only have so much lore on them settled rn but gehehehehe I lurv them

Their story is pretty early but basically what happened is Silverworth, a member of the Ordo Xenos the irony I know, is doing his work. Taking and cleansing a Xenos ship trespassing imperial airspace and not heeding his warnings. Upon their mission however he begins to realize this ship has various civilians in it, his own moral code and tragic past catch up with him and he is starting to have a breakdown when- gasp?! One of the few tau left get into a fist fight with one of his soldiers giving Silverworth a chance to rectify this even if only a little.

So he saves Al’vah from the soldier and in that moment decides “huh….new child” bc old man is a big old baby and misses his wife and kids very very very much pls pls pls god emperor he misses them— and needs something to keep his mind off that void.

So new child acquired :3 wdym he can’t love a xenos like his own child? You get a divine smite from the gauntlet and a firm talking to.

I love them so fucking much…

Some D-Line Observations from Twitter

as we could all probably tell, trey is the only one making ANY difference on the d-line at this point. and not only is he the best on our line, he's one of the best in the entire league! like look at how alone his name is in that chart, he's getting doubled more than myles garrett or aidan hutchinson, and still winning as much or more than them!

and then we see sam, who seems to be entering a second season in a row of decline. he IS hurt, so you can blame injury, or maybe just old age. either way it's not great for him or the team 😔

the thing is though, his injury wasn't a secret during training camp. and myles murphy was getting more and more reps before he was hurt. i'm sure the plan was to let sam rest a bit, and have myles rotate in more than he did last year. and then....he hit IR. (the good news is that he'll be eligible to come back week 5, if he's feeling up to it!)

all of which leads to the first series of tweets....we have invested more than anyone!!! in our d-line!!! the most high round draft picks in the league! significant amounts of money in free agency!! and yet!!

it's easy to blame the FO (and i do, for a lot!) but they have been trying apparently. i know it doesn't seem like it, i personally was shocked at this info lmao. it's just that, for whatever reason, things aren't paying off. joseph ossai, zach carter.....they were 3rd round picks that have contributed very little so far. myles had flashes last year and could be a hit, but he's hurt. cam sample has historically been good depth, but he's hurt. kris jenkins is finally back in, but playing hurt. mckinnley jackson could be good, but we just don't know enough about him yet...because he's hurt! and beyond our draft picks, our acquisitions like bj and sheldon got hurt in the chiefs game, and you could REALLY feel their absence the next game against washington. the effect of injuries on this line really cannot be overstated.

and that sucks! because you look at the dj reader situation (and note that i was always on the side of keep him keep him oh my god keep him!) and see how the gamble of not paying your star vet and hoping that a lot of unproven young talent would come through....has not paid off! but! to be 100% fair, betting that dj would come back fully healthy and play like his old self, when he was getting older and had a serious injury, also would have been a gamble. it's just that that gamble paid off for the lions, and only time will tell if it pays off for us 🫣

so some of my thoughts about john silver at the end of season 3:

he's introduced as a selfish character. he has no alliance to anyone, and always looks to make any situation suit his own best interest. from the first episode posing as a cook and trying to sell the map, to screwing flint over and attempting to steal the urca gold himself. he's smart, and manipulative and charming. so him going dark would stem from that central character trait, you would think.

but his motivations in season 3 confuse me. his changing actually appears to be from being selfless all of a sudden. but did he really have a change of heart? does he really care for his men? he seems to be taking being a quartermaster seriously. or is his dark behavior stemming from his recent traumatic experiences, i.e. losing his leg and watching that man drown in front of him? i could kind of see that... i don't think it's enough to fully explain it though. is it just a result of being in that ship environment for an extended time? i'm not sure. but i don't see him actually caring about most of his men like he claims.

to me, the answer is flint. silver states it himself, he fears where being alongside flint will take him mentally and emotionally, but he's still willing to put in that work. or perhaps he's more than willing, maybe he's afraid that he can't stop himself. it's so interesting because flint going even darker in season 3 obviously tracks after losing miranda. but silver doesn't have some huge turning point like that. it seems to me he's choosing to go darker (the most obvious moment being stomping on dufresne's head) but why exactly? why does he want to be loyal to flint now? is it to protect the men? to protect himself? does he believe being quartermaster is his only choice right now? that particular development doesn't seem in his best interest though, as flint is behaving more erratically and they're losing fights and situations often. with no more urca gold he could have escape the ship easily.

therefore, the only explanation is that slowly over the last couple months he's developed a homoerotic psychosexual obsession with flint and wants nothing anymore but to be him and be with him. that's the only thing i can possibly think of. he's still the same selfish, cunning character. that's why his behavior is still self serving. he doesn't want money or freedom anymore, he wants flint. it's still all about what silver wants, and he wants to nestle himself as far into flint as he can.

and as usual, he's successful.
