in case u do wanna know a bit, i have some cursory rambles below. but pls dont take every detail down here to heart yet since theyre tentative!! very likely gonna change along the way.

full name: Rhy'savyn "Rhys" Alunan.

in the 1st/2nd timelines tho, they're only known as rhy'savyn (rhys for short) and doesn't have a surname. this is because they're like, half-human, half-outworldian species. however, they never got to know their human father in the first two timelines. they've always wanted to, but smth smth unfortunately lost contact with him?? they have the displeasure of eventually learning that he passed away later on in their lore, and so they live in their respective realm in outworld.

however bc of their half-human nature, they're seen a bit as an outcast of their species (i actually created the species! they're called Silvarians, and visually they're like a combo btwn dryads and wood elves. so yah, nature-based powers and jazz like that. not on like the same scope of power as Cetrion but u get what i mean) due to having a lesser affinity to magic. their mother and some relatives/friends are like the only few people nice to them, but rhys had to work quite hard to earn even a nick of respect.

1st/2nd timelines, Rhys's kind is actually sorta... brinking extinction? not quite sure how to back it up quite yet but I can imagine Shao Kahn's usurping of the throne definitely worsens that scenario.

in Liu Kang's new era tho, he obviously says "nah that's not happening" and basically the Silvarians are thriving again!! woohoo!! we love a guy trying his damn best to give everyone a happy destiny. he also gives his timeline's version of Rhys connection to their Earthrealm side/family, ergo their father also doesn't die and they kinda both live and visit between Earth and Outworld. hence, this Rhys is more like. chill (lack of better word) and obviously is much more happier and energetic, yada yada. this is also where Rhys gains their surname.

they still have to deal with being treated somewhat differently for being half-human and having lesser magic affinity, but they're not straight-up outcast i can imagine. i have a hc that their mother was a victor in a prior tourny, hence ppl in Silvaria try not to fuckin mess with Rhys anyways. though, it still happens.

i'm still trying to decide Rhys's fighting style but i settled on their current ones in MK1 timeline being eskrima (philippines-based martial arts. also i do recall it was Quan Chi's fighting style throughout like 5 games) and kuntau. (chinese martial arts practiced in SE asia)

(icyww yes Rhys is filipino on their human side. voiceclaim would definitely be vanille velasquez aka Neon's VA from VALORANT. although Rhys has like, probably deeper of a voice.)

they also actually do archery, but i'd imagine that'd probably make up like a bare amt of their moveset (their bow can actually turn into the dual blades they use in their eskrima fighting style) and would probably be smth they show off more in an x-ray or fatal blow. or they likely do use different weapons in past timelines, but that i'll decide soon LMFAO

joel did so well, winning in a proper blaze of glory like that— so fitting, especially after losing gem, his anchor. and his alliance with grian in the end was Killing Me. grian plain-faced telling him "you could win this," and saying he will give his life to joel? grian telling him "it's your turn."

i can't wait to see what grian was thinking before that final fight. he just kind of disappeared while joel was on an absolute rampage. and when they met back up for the final fight, he was actually fighting against joel, contrary to what he said before. maybe he realized that he knows joel, and joel would never be happy with a sacrifice. maybe he knows that because he knows what sacrifice did to him, way back when.

so he decided to fight, for joel's sake, and maybe his own, too. and when he died, he died falling. just like 3rd life.

Going to put all this in its own post too by popular request: here's how you make your own website with no understanding of HTML code at all, no software, no backend, absolutely nothing but a text file and image files! First get website server space of your own, like at NEOCITIES. The free version has enough room to host a whole fan page, your art, a simple comic series, whatever! The link I've provided goes to a silly comic that will tell you how to save the page as an html file and make it into a page for your own site. The bare minimum of all you need to do with it is JUST THIS:

Change the titles, text, and image url's to whatever you want them to be, upload your image files and the html file together to your free website (or the same subfolder in that website), and now you have a webpage with those pictures on it. That's it!!!!! .....But if you want to change some more super basic things about it, here's additional tips from the same terrible little guy:

Every pokemon review has its own permanent link, but I change that single line in the index file so it points to the newest page whenever I need it to! While I catered these instructions to updating a webcomic, you can use the same template to make blog type posts, articles or just image galleries. Anything you want! You can delete the navigational links entirely, you can make your site's index.html into a simple list of text links OR fun little image links to your different content, whatever! Your website can be nothing but a big ugly deep fried JPEG of goku with a recipe for potato salad on it, no other content ever, who cares! We did that kind of nonsense all the time in the 1990's and thought it was the pinnacle of comedy!! Maybe it still can be?!?! Or maybe you just want a place to put some artwork and thoughts of yours that doesn't come with the same baggage as big social media? Make a webpage this way and it will look the same in any browser, any operating system for years and years to come, because it's the same kind of basic raw code most of the internet depends upon!
