Heart of Gold, Soul of a Warrior AU-

As an alternative ending to Sonic Unleashed, Sonic doesn't just lose his Werehog form. He absorbs all of Dark Gaia, "sacrificing" himself to save the world. Because of this, he fuses with the original entity and transforms into it. He embraces his new life as the months pass, soon returning to the surface world to reunite with his friends. This Sonic still retains the personality of his original self, but has the personality of a raging god, often sometimes losing control of himself and lashing out at others. This is why he gets nervous. He fears that he'd hurt someone and be treated as a "villain" or monster(he actually dislikes being called Dark Gaia even though it's basically his life now). He also gets lots of anxiety over two fears: the fear of one day breaking the planet apart and of Eggman capturing him and using his energy supply to rebuild Eggmanland and use him as the power source. Good thing he has Chip to keep him company. Sonic contains the powers of the normal Dark Gaia: the ability to control and speak to the Dark Gaia monsters, sprouting tendrils from his back to use for attacking and for holding things, summoning of purple Dark Gaia flames for also attacking usage, and to use the unlimited energy to inflict negative emotions and feelings to others. He could even turn his friends into Werecreatures if he wanted to. Asides from being able to shift from his normal form to his base god form(is forced to turn into it during full moons and through strong emotions and only turns into his true form while underground; he shifts into his "Perfect" forms as a last resort but it drains him of his power), he can do a variety of things with his magic, like shapeshifting and teleportation. On his normal form, he can even have Dark Gaia patterns flash on him to help him see in the dark.

Freaks AU-

It's a supernatural AU in which Sonic gets bit by a werebeast, turning into one himself. He lives in an abandoned attic along with Silver, life long best friends, who is a recently turned vampire, and also Tails Doll, possessed by Tails' soul.

Once he learns how to control his other half, Sonic has the ability to shift or partially shift at will, although it's harder on New Moons, and easier on Full Moons. They also got Super Full Moons, in which they go completly feral and bloodthirsty, and Super New Moons, where a werebeast go into a hibernation state.

One of two Halloween pieces I have planned for this year features Dark Gaia!Sonic from one of my many Sonic AUs I still hold close: Heart of a God, Soul of a Warrior. I just had the idea of having him on some kind of inspired throne and bring him back since he's very well fitting for this holiday. Expect the other piece to drop on Halloween day!
