Metal sonic in my AU

idk why I did this I don't really plan on exploring metal much, but I have some HC ideas. I could see a nice comic about his slow decline and attempted escape from eggman.

Shadow and Omega want to save Metal:

I wonder if much of metal's thoughts would fall to "why bother" and a feeling of hopelessness and accepting his circumstances. Maybe he would have forgotten himself all together...He was a copy of Sonic's personalty, during sonic's younger years, so it's kinda disturbing to consider how his tween brain would have been altered.

I don't think he would understand Shadow and Omega's want to free him--It's weird to feel like someone is going out of their way to help you when you feel there's no point.

Eggman's relationship:

Over the 2000s eggman started warming up to his creations, so one line of thinking might be eggman's relationship with his creations becoming more complicated, given his advancement of AI/machine learning. He made machines that argued with him, and thats very telling.

What if metal is finally freed and forgives his creator, unlike omega? What if he willingly chooses to return to eggman? Imagine the impact that might have on the Doctoir--of course, he would never say that it warmed his heart, but that would be the moment he started veiwing his creations are his legacy: his children...

Do you think Eggman would have secretly allowed Metal to escape the network, but be in denial of it? I think metal would struggle a lot, trying to adjust to his sudden ability to control everything. Who knows maybe his code doesnt even have all that figured out and he needs the network AI to figure it out. Im sure tails could help him.

I think Omega and Metal would be friends. I think Shadow would be happy and fulfilled by either end (metal staying with GUN or returning to eggman).

short little drabble bc ive been super busy this week and havent been able to write much-i have a few fics lined up to be posted this week! please like/comment if you enjoy my fics thats how ik which ones are liked and ill make more of them <3

Sonic had this thing. Not something he was born with, at least he didn't think so. It wasn't even a gradual thing. It just happened. He just relaxed whenever his ears were scratched. And that was one of the first things Shadow learned about him. So whenever he wanted to get Sonic asleep, calm, or even just to make him happy, he would scratch behind his ears. The first time it ever happened was after they started dating.

"Sonic, you need to sleep," Shadow mumbles. They had stayed up talking and it was well into the night.

"I can't. I'm just not tired," Sonic grumbles like a petulant child. He acted like that when he was tired and grumpy.

"You haven't even tried. Just try, okay?" Sonic grumbles and closes hie eyes for approximately ten seconds before opening them again.

"I tried. I can't sleep." Shadow groans and starts to scratch his head.

"That's not gonna-" he pauses as Shadow starts scratching behind his ears. Sonic's eyes flutter shut and his body goes lax.

"Now I know how to shut you up," Shadow teases.

"Don't you dare use that against me," Sonic threatens, but it sounds more like a plea because hes tired and his eyes are closed.

"I might."

"If you do, I won't love you anymore."

"How will I ever survive?" Shadow snorts.

"That means no more nights like this."

"Mm... fine. Just because I like doing this. I'll use it whenever you want me to. Now sleep."

"Yes, sir, Mr. Shadow the Hedgehog," he gives a flimsy salute and rolls up into a ball.

"I could get used to that," Shadow murmurs.

i have the headcanon that Shadow really loves sleeping with plushies all over his bed because Maria had a bunch of plushies on her bed at all times at the ARK and so he'd have to make space for all of the plushies when he got in bed to sleep next to her. Now it is just to make him feel less alone when going to sleep. Don't let anyone know that though, especially Sonic of all people.

What if sonic was cat coded, in that he sees something running and he has to run after it.

Cars, trains, people, motorcycles... He'll be at the park all cozy, sitting next to Shadow enjoying the breeze, and there's a group of runners that pass by him and he just joins them on instict.

I bet he made that plane just to race the birds or something. Bet it sucks not being able to race the fish.
