Am I the only one who struggles aggressively with the “A Grave Mystery” puzzle on Kronos Island in Frontiers??? I’ve had to use a guide every single time. That shit does NOT make sense to me

But I was wondering why everyone was angsting on social media over how to S-Rank the Cyber Space levels. And like yeah, some of them are hard! But others I feel like I had weird intuition while I was playing.

and then I realized.  Some of the Cyber Space levels are wholeheartedly straight-up ripped from Sonic Adventure 2. 

I played one of them today for the first time and found myself blazing through it and knowing exactly which path was the fastest one to take, and then I realized. It’s  Sky Rail. I’m playing Sky Rail. I’m playing updated Sky Rail with a Green Hill Zone paint job.

THAT’S why I know to cheat to the right every time the path splits. That’s why I know which rail to jump to, when. THAT’S WHY, on a level I’ve never played before, I felt the wild subconscious urge to just ABANDON RAIL and jump into the void—AND THERE ACTUALLY WAS a platform waiting for me there.

Because I played Sonic Adventure 2 so many times between 9 years old and now that I could do this level in my SLEEP, no matter which version of Sonic’s shoes I’m standing in—AND I KNOW I’M NOT THE ONLY ONE. Why don’’t I see more chatter about this?! Come on tell me you all noticed it! I know I’m just stating  the obvious here but I was so stunned when I hit that platform to the left and thought “I HAVE been here before.”

But like it’s not an EXACT match. It just FEELS similar and if you just relax and let your muscle memory steer you it literally will not steer you wrong. Even when you do something crazy like abandon the rails; if it feels right because your memorized Sky Rail self feels like you should do it, it will pay off. Without LOOKING like a boring repeat. It’s even better than the nostalgia from those reimagined Generations stages.

And you know what? I don’t care what you have to say about it game-design wise, I don’t care if it’s lazy or whatever, it is IMMERSIVE. Because cyberspace is supposed to be a confused dream world influenced by Sonic’s memories and if I didn’t just have the most subconscious-Deja-vu-flashback experience to my 9 year-old self playing a much earlier adventure just now, RIGHT ALONG WITH SONIC—

just played sonic frontiers for 4 hours straight and i havent finished the first island yet.

Ok so I'm playing through Sonic Frontiers and I noticed a little thing I haven't seen anyone mention yet soooo:

On Kronos Island, when you start the game, Sonic is standing straight up in his idle animation/Standing Animation. He's is cool confident self and has absolutely no issue doing so. (Below, Left)

Once you get to Ares, it's the same. He's confident. Cool. (Above, Right). Although, upon watching mine and various other peoples playthroughs I have noticed that it seems from a side angle that on Ares Island Sonic is hunched over just slightly, like his heads just a little too heavy. I wasn't able to screenshot this as I didn't notice it until reviewing other footage and well... its a Sonic game. People don't just stand idle lol.

Once you get to Chaos Island though? The SECOND you land from the Wyvern boss fight Sonic is standing like this:

And that just becomes his idle pose whenever he's not running. He's holding his head, he's hunched over, and when looking at it in game he's practically heaving he's breathing so hard. He, quite frankly, looks like he's about to collapse.

There are a lot of weird things about this game but the attention to character traits and story are the reason t play it. Because oh my gosh Sonic's IDLE STANDING ANIMATION shows how tired he is???? Oh my gosh. I'm losing it. Anywho so I just got on Chaos- XD Rip Sonic. I will be back with more if the fourth island heeds any updates to this.

I hope one day we get a mainline sonic game focusing on a side character where sonic gets into trouble and need to be saved

question: is the new Sonic Generations worth the price tag?

honestly i absolutely think so and i am notoriously apathetic about shadow. sonic gens is basically the same except for some fun dialogue changes, and i honestly was happy to spend the money just to be able to play sonic gens on my playstation, but the shadow levels are so much fun (despite the fact i generally suck at games) and are insanely cool to see. good level design beats the fact shadows overhyped for me . im having SO much fun

🦔✨ well besties…. it's the end of sonic frontiers!!!! the longest series i have done on the channel so far and it has been such a blast filming and editing the series for you all!!! frontiers has honestly been such a journey from playing the main series (with the birthday outfits ofc), playing as super sonic for the first time, playing as amy, knuckles and tails for the first time and then playing the entire final horizons over one weekend with my friends basically trying to survive!!! frontiers is currently my favourite sonic game i've played so far!!!

as mentioned in the video, i will be doing another sonic series on the channel very very soon and this one has been one of my favourite series i have played for the channel so far!!! (it won't take like 8 months to put out all the episodes this time… promise!!) i'm still making my way through the game but i am having so much fun… stressful but fun!!!

there's a few games coming out later this year that i really want to play on the channel so i am kinda stuck on what to play until then. i may do another binge-series like i did with until dawn in the meantime or i was thinking of trying out that 10-minute challenge from sackboy again or even trying to do all the boss fights in frontiers on hard more for fun (including the final trial)!!! we'll see… anywho, hope you have a lovely weekend besties!!! 💛💛💛
