What's Hiyokos favorite part of being on stage?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hiyoko: Eh? What do you wan--
Hiyoko: ...
Hiyoko: I've only performed a couple times-- we're still kids, ya know.
Hiyoko: There's supposed to be this big contest in a few years but not all of us are getting in...
Hiyoko: But some of us are already pretty famous. In fact, unless you live under a rock you should be able to guess what my favorite part is.

This Summer Vacation was already odd enough that it took place within a virtual reality- but to think they'd add haunted houses and the like.
Still, usually she could handle aspects like this. Horror, Occult, that genre? That was a excitement Sonia Nevermind could continue to sink her teeth into regardless, even despite her standard or 'talent'.
She fidgets, grimacing. Maybe it was the company of Hajime Hinatas elder twin.. After all, he was quite perceptive of others. Earlier that day, he had sincerely ripped apart Soda's new machine he built to perfect on it, leaving the mechanic downtrodden.
Which, she was grateful for, though it was.. strange how quick the action was. As if it took him no time at all to find the Ultimate's faults and perfect it.
Though, at least the humbling action would give Soda some time to reflect on things and not rely on just his talent-
Oh!
Tumblr media
"Wait up! Usami said we should stick together, yes?"
Sonia began to dash after- deciding to not linger on the truly frightening aspects that made up Izuru Kamukura, and to try and experience the spooktastic events Usami had lined up..
...Which would probably not be up to par with Sonias usual tastes of horror, but hey, the rabbits trying, ya know?

Bread in hand, Sayori finally left her house. It's been a while since she's been outside for a reason other than grocery shopping. But surprisingly, the girl got a random spark of motivation, and some old bread that she had no intention of eating.
And thus, Sayori made her way to a nearby park. She sat on one of the benches near the giant pond, opened her bag of bread and starting throwing pieces towards the ducks, and into the water.
This absence of anything important should be calming... So why was it impossible for her to feel that way?
Despite the bright smile on her face, there was something bothering her. A nagging feeling that, even during summer vacation, she was wasting her time.
Right when she was about to fall down that rabbit hole however, she noticed a figure approach. Looking over, there was one thing that immediately stood out to Sayori...
Tumblr media
'Wow... She's really pretty!'
Still... not expecting the stranger to initiate any kind of conversation, Sayori stayed silent and with the same bright smile as before, continued feeding the animals.

some silliness
no, this is not an actual dream I've had, but with the dreams I have it might as well be. though my dreams can also have long intricate stories with complex themes that end up being... mostly unusable for stories. but I can mine them for ideas occasionally.

Trying to disguise the small laugh she gave at Kazuichi's very respectful scream, Sonia put the painting back for his sake. At his voiced concerns, she happily assured him, "If anyone can remove any curse this could cast, it would certainly be our Overlord of Ice, don't you think?"
Suddenly, she gasped as she spotted a kabuki mask that resembled a black cat. "This says this mask was actually used on stage for many years. I might just get this for myself," she giddily said as she picked it up to inspect it. Holding it up for the mechanic to see, she asked, "Wouldn't this look lovely on a wall? Maybe above the bed?"
“O-oh.” Well, that sure didn’t help his nerves. The mechanic felt a cold shiver run down his spine, eyes now darting all over the place with a newfound dread, repeating ‘remain respectful… remain respectful… remain respectful…’ in his head like a mantra. He absolutely did not want to piss off any scary creatures.
Giving a very respectful scream at the painting, because that’s obviously something you do out of respect, he coughed into his hands and adjusted the collar of his jumpsuit, trying to pretend that didn’t happen. “…A-anything we pick up from here m-might actually curse us, Miss Sonia,” he whispered to her nervously, like he was afraid that whatever entities were around might hear him. “As much as I don’t like that guy, I don’t wanna be responsible for, like, h-his death, or something…”

Novoselic festival
In the wonderous court of her royal highness Sonia Marie Nevermind, a festival most grand is taking place, the newly minted Queen is celebrating her first year on the throne, after her parents died in the revolution, and she nearly lost her head, it was awhile before she could regain her nation and become Sonia I. She looks around at the guests of honor. The food looked quite good, they had traditional dancers, peasants and nobles (what was left of them), all mingled together. Her fair blue eyes spot you, her esteemed guest in the crowd as she beckons you forth to join her.

Oh? Hello there! It has been awhile since i have seen you!

Sondam Week 2024, Day 2
Hi everyone! I loved seeing everyone else's pieces yesterday -- there's a lot of creativity here! Presenting the next chapter in The Despair Killer, for the Day 2 prompt: Fire! You can also read on A03 here! Enjoy!
Sonia drove. The streets were empty this late in a weeknight evening, but they clogged up when she reached Kazuichi’s auto shop. A handful of police cruisers blocked off the corner his shop was on, with uniformed officers guarding the place against the throng of curious busybodies that spilled into the street.
Sonia had to drive a full block away to find an open spot. She parked, the car jolting as the tire hit the curb, and then jumped out and sprinted back down the street.
The auto shop’s garage doors were closed, as was the door to the tiny reception room. Sonia pushed through the crowd bubbling on the sidewalk and barreled into the police officer guarding the perimeter.
“This is a crime scene, ma’am,” he said as she tried to fight her way past him.
“That’s my friend in there! Kaz is my friend!”
“Ma’am, I’m sorry, but you need to wait at the curb.”
“Let me in!”
The reception door opened. A dark shape appeared; it was Gundham, who rushed over and grasped her arms firmly enough to disengage her without being rough on her. “I need you to control yourself, Miss Nevermind.”
She bristled. “You try controlling yourself when you just found out your friend was killed!”
Horrified whispers rippled through the crowd. What did they think was happening here, an audit? Why would the doors be closed unless –
Her stomach churned. “What happened?”
Gundham glanced over her head at the crowd, then looked into her eyes. “Come with me.”
Gundham nodded to the other officer and took Sonia away from the scene, one arm wrapped around her. He brought her to a squad car and helped her into the passenger seat, then walked around and slid himself into the driver’s seat.
“Why did you call me?” she demanded as soon as he shut his door. “Why would you tell me if you didn’t want me to come?”
“Sonia, I need you to be calm.” He started the car and cranked up the head. She felt her muscles start to loosen up from the chill. “I wish to share information with you, but I cannot do that if I know you’ll share it with others.”
“I won’t!”
“I just watched you regurgitate information to that crowd.”
The town was a hive mind: when one knew, all knew. “What, like it was some big secret that Kaz is dead?”
The acknowledgement brought a fresh round of tears. Kaz was such a good friend, one of the few people who loved her uncritically. No more chats on slow days, no more getting each other coffees, no more sensing when something was wrong. Nothing would ever be right again.
Gundham reached out and took her hands. They were warmer than she expected. “I shared that with you as a courtesy. You are right: gossip spreads across towns faster than dawn, and I wanted you to hear it officially before someone else reached you first. But I never thought you would come to the crime scene.”
“How couldn’t I?” she said. “I wasn’t thinking. I wasn’t – what else was I supposed to do?”
“You are a rarity,” he replied, his voice softening. “For most of the families I speak to, grief fills them like ice. It makes them slow and heavy like a glacier. But for you…”
He paused. There was no pity or condolence on his face; in fact, he gazed at her with a soft admiration, and maybe something like relief. “You are full of fire, and that is good.”
“Is it?” It was hard to feel like anything was good, but Gundham was more convincing than at first glance. “Even after I showed up here?”
“No lasting harm was done. The truth will get out eventually.” He squeezed her hands. “Hold onto that fire, my lady, because that will propel you forward, keep your head above water, and may even help us find the killer.”
His words comforted her. He had an odd manner of speech for day-to-day life, but his riddle-speak somehow suited this terrible occasion. Sonia never thought such a thing could be comforting; she might be the only one in Witch Creek who warmed up to him.
She wiped her cheeks. “So he was murdered?”
“We have reason to believe he was,” he replied, relinquishing her hands. “Do I have your word that you will keep what I tell you confidential?”
“Yes.” She would claw her own eyes out if it meant she could serve justice for Kazuichi.
“I am glad.” He sat back in his seat. “We found another Despair Sisters sigil at the scene.”
She shuddered. “It’s officially a serial killer now, isn’t it?”
“It was official at three victims,” he said grimly. “Though it only took two for your newspapers to start calling them ‘the Despair Killer.’”
It was an ugly, sensationalist moniker, especially when the victim’s families lived within spitting distance of the paper. But something so horrifying, something pulled straight out of Witch Creek’s worst nightmare, was always going to get special treatment.
Gundham’s words pulled Sonia out of her reverie. “This is why I need your help.”
“What can I do?” she said lamely. “Are you accusing me? “Do you think I did it because I sell books about them?”
“I do not. In fact, I believe that exonerates you.”
“What?”
“The sigils are nearly accurate reproductions,” he explained, his dark eyes shining with enthusiasm. “But they’re not drawn in blood, which means they’re not a true believer.”
“Could it have to do with time constraint?” she asked. “Or just – I don’t know, they just chose not to?”
“If this person is willing to kill in the name of the Despair Sisters, why should drawing the sigils in blood present further difficulty? That is not the mark of a devout worshipper, but of an opportunistic imitator, and certainly not someone who has researched the arcane arts herself.”
“Even if it’s not a worshipper, why wouldn’t the killer go the full mile?” she asked. “They’ve already killed four people. What’s a little more blood?”
“That’s exactly what I mean: the killer doesn’t careenough to do so. They’re drawing the sigils for a purpose, but it is not the sigil’s intended purpose.”
“Then why?”
He paused, glaring out the windshield. “I do not know yet. My work is not finished. But until it is, perhaps we should pursue more traditional avenues of investigation.”
He cleared his throat. “Do you know anyone who would wish to harm him?”
She answered, even though the question seemed hatefully pointless. “No idea. Everyone loved him because he’d undercharge for repairs.”
Gundham’s brow furrowed. “I see.”
Sonia summoned her courage. “Can I…can you tell me one more thing?”
He hesitated. “What is it?”
“How did he die? Was he in pain?”
He pressed his lips together into a thin line. “It is terrible.”
It was gut-wrenching to hear, but Sonia knew it would only get worse if she didn’t push. “I’d rather hear it from you than the paper.”
He gazed at her, his jaw clenching. “Mister Soda was working underneath a car when the hydraulic lift failed and crushed him.”
Her jaw dropped. A moment later, an agonized groan tore out of her as another violent shudder ripped through her. This was gut-wrenching, she realized. Not that discomforting sensation she felt at the hint of suffering. This felt like her insides were being mashed up and torn out of her, leaving her mangled and broken.
Gundham caught her as she curled in on herself, leaning awkwardly over the armrest. He folded her into his arms as she sobbed. Death itself was horrible, but to know Kazuichi died in such great pain? To know the last thing he would ever feel was agony?
“That’s awful,” she blubbered into Gundham’s coat. “He – he always said that was how he was afraid to go!”
Gundham stilled. “What did you say?”
“Kaz used to – oh, God, he used to joke about it,” she said. “He used to say, every time he would roll under a car, he would wonder, ‘Is this the day the lift breaks?’ ”
Gundham’s arms stiffened around her. “Is that so?”
He pulled her body away from him. Sonia swallowed the much bigger lump in her throat and wiped her eyes and nose, missing the warmth of his embrace.
“Thank you for sharing with me, Sonia,” he said, “but I’m afraid I must return to the investigation. Do you require assistance going home?”
She was dumbstruck by the sudden change in the air. “No, but what’s going on? Did you figure something out?”
“I cannot discuss it any further,” he replied, though she caught the resignation in his tone as he got out.
He walked around to open the door for her, but she beat him to the punch, bursting out onto the sidewalk.
“You can’t just leave me hanging,” she said. “Kaz was my friend. If the killer is obsessed with the Despair Sisters, I can help!”
“I cannot discuss it any further,” he replied, resigned as he walked her back to her car. “Thank you for answering my questions. The rest are reserved for Mister Kuzuryu’s therapist.”
If not for Gundham’s arm at her back guiding her forward, she would’ve stopped dead in the road. Fuyuhiko was the first victim of the Despair Killer, murdered with one of his wife’s swords. Since when did he have a therapist?
Well, a man like him would’ve never admitted to seeing one, but he would’ve needed one after what happened to his wife. Witch Creek was not receptive to the so-called “soft” sciences, so there was only one therapist in town: Dr. Nagito Komaeda.

@more-than-a-princess
What a complicated week it had been. By all accounts, it should have been as any other week - better, perhaps, for the outing planned with Sonia to see the Ji-yeon's concert at Waseda University. It shouldn't have been - and wasn't, truly - any great surprise that some of her suitors would be lined up, intent on some sort of post-White Day date, and while Shinobu wasn't especially interested, she'd acquiesced to at least a handful of the offers. The dates were, naturally, boring at best, and disastrous at worth, but they'd never truly expected anything different.
All the while, though, it was hard not to let her thoughts drift to Sonia, and to what had happened on the holiday itself. Of course, Shinobu had desired no credit for herself. There was no reason to make themselves the center of attention, or act in such a way that would lead to misunderstandings. Her goal was, and had always been, to simply do something kind for Sonia - something that acknowledged her interests and hobbies, and perhaps made her feel seen in a way that she might otherwise not be.
And yet to see that Reserve Course student, Hasegawa, take the credit and use it as a springboard to ask Sonia out, so shamelessly taking credit for Shinobu's gesture... Those violent urges that flickered like flames beneath the layers upon layers of ice had refused to be ignored. It was entirely possible that she'd broken Hasegawa's nose, and while she'd been glad for any restraint, there was some part of Shinobu Yaguchi that wished she could have removed her own leash long enough to kick out a few of his teeth, or blackened his eyes until they were swollen shut.
How violent. How brutal. They were a wretched, loathsome, monstrous thing that could barely be called human. A dozen ways they could have handled the situation, and yet they'd chosen violence, and not even had the decency to regret it. Those thoughts, self-loathing, were only tempered by a question that had yet to resolve itself - why did it so upset her? Yes, Hasegawa's lie was pitifully self-serving, and no, Shinobu didn't want Sonia to be misled by any boy, let alone the type who would speak about her as some sort of status symbol or accessory, as Hasegawa had. But, Sonia was brilliant and thoughtful - not at all the sort of person to fail to see through such transparent motives. Petty, personal revenge, then? Simply seeing Hasegawa's actions as imposing upon Shinobu's own life, and desiring to punish him for it? Even that seemed to fit less than she'd like.
She'd need to put aside that answerless question, for the time being, and focus instead on the night ahead. They'd texted Sonia ahead of time, letting her know when they would be arriving to pick her up, and had set about running their errands. A text to Ji-yeon went unanswered, with Shinobu assuming that she was busy preparing, but she hoped that the emotions somehow reached her regardless. It was rare, of course, that Shinobu Yaguchi spent a night out without romantic context, so she was determined to ensure that things went smoothly. Transit plans had already been decided upon, in being driven to the venue by some of Sonia's attendants. A bit much for the archer, perhaps, who would prefer the subway, but for a variety of reasons, it was important to consider Sonia's situation with far more weight.
The dormitories at Hope's Peak Academy weren't difficult to navigate, being in how often they spent time with Anzu, there. Furthermore, Sonia's suite was rather hard to miss. With gentle hands, they knocked upon her door, their typically stern expression softening as they saw her. "Miss Nevermind, hello. Are you ready to leave, or do you need more time? I don't mind waiting, and I imagine we'll be early, regardless." She looked so gorgeous that again, Shinobu felt that feeling of having the breath stolen from her lips. Again, her heart seemed unable to pick a side - beating loud and fast to the degree that she could feel it inside her head, or stopping altogether. That sort of thing seemed to be happening with increasing frequency. Perhaps she was ill.
For her part, Shinobu thought she looked alright, as well, wearing a navy three-piece suit in a women's cut with the jacket left open and the sleeves gently pushed up, and uncharacteristically lacking a tie. Having recently dyed her hair again, the red was deeper and richer than usual, reflecting the color of her eyes, which were themselves surrounded by a small splash of red makeup, as well as Shinobu's typically sharp eyeliner. In place of her usual earrings were a pair of neat diamond studs, borrowed from Anzu, and a silver ear cuff that was, perhaps, slightly more formal than the austere black rings she typically wore near the tip of her left ear. Even their nails were painted, with a blue finish that paired well with their suit.
While not carrying a bag, her hand was occupied with a small bundled bouquet of yellow roses, fresh and slightly fragrant. "You look lovely, by the way." As she always did, but to let the moment pass without compliment seemed faintly incorrect. "And, I'm both glad and appreciative that you were able to make tonight's event work alongside your schedule." Hasegawa could have his ill-gotten date, built upon a stolen gift and a liar's words. It was only something like their friendship, hers and Sonia's, that could be important enough to rearrange such a schedule. "I hope it wasn't too troublesome. I'm aware your time doesn't always come easily, so I hope you know how greatly I value your company, and your companionship, Miss Nevermind."

Tumblr media
It had been a long six months since he had last been with her in person, it hadn't been an easy relationship for them, not in the slightest. The good thing was that they did love and care for each other deeply, but with him being a famous public figure and her being a noble princess next in line for the throne of Novoselic, it all added up to a special, but very private relationship. Admittedly, Minato was well aware that this wouldn't be simple. Her very strict parents due to her monarchy made things quite complicated, but putting that all aside, the Paranormal Investigator refused to give up on their relationship. Sonia had become his pride and joy, his feelings for her ran as deep as the ocean, and he wanted to make sure she remembered it.
At the very least, the two had been in contact via text messages and occasionally video call, while it wasn't in person, it was still more than enough for the two of them---it had to be. Of course, there was the fact that one day, he would have to meet her family, which would be a whole other kind of challenge in itself, especially considering the fact how much her folks didn't believe in the line of work he was to be an actual profession and more of a very odd and unusual hobby, there would be a lot to weather when that day would come, but he would do it all for her, Minato had dealt with parents that didn't see him as a fitting partner, the Nevermind's would be his greatest challenge yet, but he wouldn't let it stop him. Minato would chase a tornado in a hurricane for Sonia, anything to make their relationship they had so carefully kept private for quite a few years now.
Several months later, luck would finally strike the couple, Sonia had told him that she would be going to England for some kind of meeting with some local regality, at the same time, Minato was heading there for an investigation of the Infamously Haunted Chillingham Castle of Northumberland, a location that the Paranormal Quest crew had been trying to land an investigation at for quite some time--and what perfect timing it had been. Normally, Minato would want it to surprise, but given how private they had to keep their relationship, that was sadly not possible, at the very least, it would give them a chance to be together after far too long.
Minato didn't like to do things typical of any other Celebrity, but in this circumstance, he would do whatever he needed to do just to see her again -- anything just to be next to her, and not through a screen. Minato ordered a limousine ride, the driver was thankfully a friend he had met during an investigation his crew had done two years ago for the fourth season of his show, Hampton Court Palace, this man was the owner of the ground and had a daughter that happened to be a huge fan of his, so in return for a personalized autograph and a photo, he happily took the call of Minato's request, and agreed to drive them around town late at night, and of course he paid him for it, too. Because he was a friend of Minato's, he had promised to keep this trip a secret which provided all the reassurance needed.
Tumblr media
After giving her a text that he was outside in the limo, a smile appeared on his face as he saw her tell him she would be out momentarily. After not too long of a wait, the car door opened, and he was graced with her beautiful face as she stepped inside and sat next to him.
[{ 🦋 }] - "Sonia!" He quickly says, not using an honorific, since they were finally past that after being together for a long while now.
Immediately he pulled the blonde into his strong arms, relishing the feeling of her frame against his, savoring the warmth of her body, he gently leaned forward, their forehead resting, a hand reaching up to softly cup her cheek.
Tumblr media
[{ 🦋 }] - "I missed you... so much." He says quietly against her lips, moving to lock their lips together in a long overdue kiss.
Tumblr media
Unprompted IC asks from mutuals - Accepting!
She'd ordered tea upon her return to her Claridge's suite: nothing out of the ordinary for the Princess of Novoselic after a day's worth of royal visits, meetings, and appearances, particularly when she did not have concrete dinner plans. Her forest green pantsuit she'd worn had been eagerly exchanged for a more comfortable wool skirt and cardigan, though she'd looked appropriately smart and tidy standing beside the Prince and Princess of Wales at Windsor Castle. The castle photos had been a formality, as soon after the necessary interviews, tours, and discussions around charitable endeavors between their two countries, they'd welcomed Sonia to Adelaide Cottage for lunch with the family, where she'd shared her thoughts on Marvel superheroes and a Taylor Swift singalong with their three children (and the Prince of Wales, who was not only a fan but agreed not to divulge just how terrible a singer the Princess of Novoselic was).
But she was thankful to return to her suite at the Novoselic Royal Family's preferred hotel in Mayfair. One, to warm her up after the car ride back from Windsor to central London, and two, to sample some of the treats readied for her by the hotel's head patissier and arranged by her suite's private butler.
And three: because after six months, her schedule and Minato's had, finally, crossed paths. It had been hard on him, hard on them both, when her time in Tokyo had ended and she'd moved back to Novoselic for her family's work. That was how it was supposed to be: her home base as Boudry House with near-daily visits to Novoselic Castle, save for the instances she traveled for work or leisure. After graduating university, multi-week stays anywhere was rather unheard of. Japan was the exception not the norm, and even then there were limits as to what made logical sense for the royal schedule and budget. Besides, it wasn't as if Minato was constantly at home himself: he traveled the world to film his television show, though it was often not the same places she was sent for diplomatic negotiations. He'd wanted to surprise her, she could've guessed that much, but the complex nature of her life and his meant that was a luxury they couldn't afford.
Tumblr media
A bit tongue-in-cheek, Sonia thought as she set down the pastel green and white striped teacup, the traditional china pattern of the hotel. If Minato knew she was leaving behind a scone, a thick mousse cake with layers of passion fruit and mango jelly between the chocolate, and a miniature pistachio creme brulee, he'd likely chide her for it if she wasn't planning to either include him or pack it up for him to sample instead. With a deep sigh, she got up and strode to the additional racks of clothes set up in the second bedroom of the suite, plucking both a Burberry trench coat and a wool scarf from a hanger, followed by her top handle bag named after the former Princess of Monaco. Ready for the elements, her security detail followed her down the hall: the Novosonian Royal Family had taken up the entire first floor of the hotel, with the King and Princess in suites at each end of the hallway. The footman in front of the Royal Suite knocked two times on the door before opening it for Sonia: one of the few who didn't require being announced to the King. A perk of being the heir to the throne and his only child.
Sonia found him looking rather un-kingly, something she preferred. He'd made the best of the few hours he had that afternoon after meeting with King Charles and Queen Camilla, as evident by the carefully-packed shopping bags full of vintage records that had been left upon the coffee table in favor of live music instead. His, as King Alexandre of Novoselic had taken his seat at the piano in the Royal Suite and had begun to play an Elton John tune on it.
"I see you did a tour of the best vintage record shops in London," Sonia smiled as she entered, coat in hand.
"Ah well, it is nice to have a respite from various appointments with the Windsors," Her father replied, returning her smile as he closed the cover on the piano. "Speaking of, did you get on well with the Waleses? And you look like you are intending to go out, the night before the State Dinner."
"I did, they invited me to lunch at Adelaide so they could re-introduce the children," She replied carefully. Neither of them were done with their work in the UK for that particular visit, but she had a narrow window of opportunity that would slip away if she didn't take it. "And yes, a friend from university invited me out to dine tonight. But not to worry, she has a private car and has arranged plans of discretion."
"Very good," He nodded before giving the sort of heavy sigh only a parent could use to show their wistful disappointment that their child was getting too old for them to be their best friend. "A pity, though: I was hoping we could listen to these, maybe send out the butler to get a chippy for us. I doubt they'll give us anything quite so indulgent at Buckingham Palace." He had a point: they'd be served food created by one of the finest chefs in the world, but fish n chips wrapped in newsprint, or any sort of kebab, curry, or even pizza with fried potatoes was, frankly, a delicacy for the Novoselic Royal Family who often kept to a strict diet.
Tumblr media
"Another time," Sonia promised. She despised doing two things: turning down fried food and lying to her father. But the change in gender was important: if she'd mentioned that 'she' was a 'he,' there would certainly be more questions. Not to mention what he really was to her, and the fact that through various bribes and deals, she'd managed to keep her staff who knew quiet about the fact she'd been in a secret romantic relationship for years, even going so far as to planting stories with the press that Sonia was dating other people. Minato had to understand, she'd explained: if they didn't give the media something to chew on, they'd uncover the truth and break it to her family before she could.
How to do the latter had been on her mind for the past few years, something more difficult to negotiate than trade or support for charities helping disadvantaged children.
After assuring she'd be back by an appointed hour and that her security detail would follow behind the entire time, she'd been dismissed and stepped out of her father's suite, only then donning her coat and scarf.
"You're taking a risk, you know. A big one, to go out in public with him like this."
Sonia paused in front of the private elevator that had opened to let her on. Cecily, her chestnut-bobbed, bespectacled personal secretary knew all, of course. It was impossible not to: the woman's entire career revolved around managing the Princess of Novoselic in every possible way, from ensuring her household was run just the way Sonia wanted it, to briefing the press secretary and PR teams, to managing Sonia's schedule, to holding her when she cried, to offering words of advice and support.
This time, her words of advice were ones Sonia wasn't particularly keen to heed.
"I know. But it's been six months, Cecily: do you know what it is like to go without affection for six months?"
The woman, still in her usual black suit, pressed her lips into a thin line of disapproval before exhaling deeply, as if predicting the long night ahead. "I am just saying that you need to be careful. The last thing you need to do is feed the press anything beyond your official schedule here, or at least do anything that will look unfavorably upon the family. A secret date falls into the latter category."
It was Sonia's turn to sigh before stepping into the elevator. "Since when have I done what I was told? And besides, I told his car to use the side entrance." The wink that accompanied her descent likely didn't settle her secretary's nerves, but that wasn't her concern as she was escorted to the hidden exit, away from the main lobby, and upon opening the door to the limo was immediately pulled inside by her boyfriend. Sonia let out a squeal, her purse tumbling in beside her as after a quick struggle to get her feet and coat in, the door was swiftly closed.
"Minato!" She replied with the same lack of honorifics, replacing the etiquette with enthusiasm. "This could qualify as a kidnapping you know, and-"
Tumblr media
Whatever she intended to say was cut off by his arms around her and his lips pressed against hers, a pause to tell her how much he missed her before kissing her again: deeper, enough that he could likely taste the tea and shortbread that likely still lingered on her tongue. The driver was, thankfully, discreet and kind enough to raise the retractable shield that separated the front and back seats. Combined with the tinted windows and the sounds of honking London traffic, it was enough to hide how she wrapped her arms around him in return, her hands grasping his shoulders as she whimpered in delight into his mouth.
"I missed you too..." She breathed once he'd relinquished her lips enough for her to speak, the rest of her still blissfully pressed against his chest, seatbelts be damned. His lap was the preferred seat right now. "Did you have a specific plan for a date tonight?" Because she really didn't mind if he didn't, she'd just need to make herself more comfortable if they stayed like that for hours and hope there weren't any sudden turns or stops: it would be both painful and embarrassing to be jostled to the floor of the limo, likely in some state of desire and dishabille.
Maybe the seatbelts, despite how cumbersome they were and how they forced a physical separation that she was not inclined to have, were a good idea.
