Swan song, part two
Tumblr media
Pairing: Koo Junhoe x Reader (f)
Genres: Drama, Angst, Romance, Childhood best friends, Junhoe is a former idol, Friends to lovers
Count: 3004
Warnings: None
Synopsis: After an unexpected encounter with your childhood best friend Junhoe, years after drifting apart, your rekindled friendship blooms anew. However, life takes a turn when he asks you to pen an article for his upcoming wedding. As you become entangled in his personal life, your old feelings of love for him begin resurfacing and the concealed secret behind his decision to abandon his idol career is soon to be unveiled by you.
“I want to go home.” You heard Hanbin complain, the moment you set foot inside the building where the art exhibit was currently taking place. It was a serene Sunday evening, and the venue is located at the heart of your hometown. A prominent sign displayed a vivid picture of the artist, Hwang Hyunjin at the entrance. Beneath his captivating blonde portrait, the bold title “Mind Visions and Their Facets Through Colors” was emblazoned with a disclaimer discreetly positioned at the bottom: “All proceeds from this event contribute to charitable causes.”
Disregarding Hanbin's comment, you searched for any sign of your other friend Yunhyeong among the sea of faces.
“Yun is here somewhere.” Your voice pierced through the bustling crowd.
“Thank God for free food courtesy of our Song Yunhyeong.” Hanbin remarked, his senses easily caught the aroma coming from the opulent spread of delicacies at the catering area of the exhibit.
The elegant space was infused with vibrant energy as a steady stream of attendees filtered in. Each well-dressed guest radiated an aura of affluence, mingling amid the artwork. Their cultured chatter carried an air of sophistication, indicating that they were the elite of the art world, gathered to appreciate the abstract pieces on display. Clad in a chic Ralph Lauren cocktail dress, you couldn't thank Junhoe enough for reminding you of the theme for tonight’s event. You were also grateful to Hanbin's girlfriend, Yeri, who, despite the limited preparation time, had managed to lend you an outfit from her designer-filled wardrobe.
Like a burst of energy against the artistic refined setting, you spotted Yunhyeong hurrying toward the three of you. His face lit up seeing his friends waiting for him.
“And so, fate has its own way of bringing us back together!” Yunhyeong exclaimed, his voice taking on a narrator's cadence, making you all chuckle.
“It's quite a coincidence, isn't it? I got picked to cater for tonight's exhibit, the very event you guys were invited to by Junhoe.” Yunhyeong marveled, his voice quickly returning to its usual tone.
“I wish Jiwon and Donghyuk could be here too." You sighed with longing.
You felt Hanbin's hand gently pat your shoulder.
“If it weren't for you and the free food, I wouldn't be here either.” He sneered.
You playfully crossed your arms and raised an eyebrow at Hanbin, fully aware that he was only joking. As the introvert of the group, you understood that events like these weren't his comfort zone. But last night's video call with him and the other boys proved otherwise. He, too, wanted to see Junhoe after you shared your surprising reunion with him. It was heartwarming how they handled the situation with maturity, without any lingering resentment toward their old friend.
Well, maybe Hanbin was a little sulky about the whole situation at first knowing how close you were with Junhoe in the past. He had seen how much you were hurting during Junhoe's absence. Despite you being older than him, he had always acted like a caring older brother to you. While Yunhyeong, Jiwon, and Donghyuk were also there for you, Hanbin's presence remained a constant in your life. He may have had his initial reservations, yet he chose to trust your judgment when you expressed Junhoe's sincerity to reconnect by inviting them to the art exhibit as well.
“Yeah, I know you're only here for the food, Bin.” Yunhyeong retorted. “You don't have a single ounce of appreciation for art. So, if I were you, Yeri, I'd think twice about marrying this guy.”
Yeri laughed at Yunhyeong’s jest and cast a mischievous look at Hanbin.
“Excuse me?” Hanbin arched his eyebrows at Yunhyeong, seemingly offended. “Art is something I’m very fond of. I'm just not particularly keen on attending large gatherings like this.”
“Dude, you teach a whole class of elementary kids and conduct yearly PTAs, how is this any different?” Yunhyeong expressed confusion.
“Being in a crowd full of art elitists is a whole different ball game.” Hanbin replied flatly. "I don't have to pretend around children. If they don't like you, they don't, if they tell you you're ugly that's because it's true."
You and Yunhyeong can't help but snort at Hanbin's answer.
Amused with her boyfriend, Yeri intercepted. “Well, these art elitists are what y/n and I deal at work, babe.”
“But you aren't like them, so I also don't have to pretend when I'm with you two.” Hanbin quipped.
“You're forgetting my dad owns a publishing company, which means I'm part of this privileged community you dislike.” Yeri stated with mischievous intention, while tapping her finger on her chin.
Hanbin took her hand in his as if to tease her. “Dislike is a strong word, but that's exactly the reason why I'm gonna marry you babe.”
Yeri burst out laughing along with you and Yunhyeong, eliciting strange looks from the guests passing by your circle.
There was a ping from Yeri's phone which was her cue to leave the group for the meantime.
“Chanwoo needs me now for that magazine feature, I have to go.” Yeri noted, kissing Hanbin on the cheek before turning to you.  “Don't worry, y/n, leave this to me. I want you to enjoy the event with the guys.” She gave your shoulder a reassuring squeeze and vanished into the crowd.
You nearly forgot that the artist himself personally invited your editor-in-chief, Jung Chanwoo to the exhibit as well. He asked you to cover the event for a potential feature on your magazine's upcoming issue, knowing that you and Yeri would be present tonight. But Yeri volunteered to do it in your place instead.
You could only smile at Yeri’s thoughtfulness. “She’s technically my boss, but she sometimes acts more of an associate like me.”
“Man, you're lucky to have Yeri!” Yunhyeong remarked, throwing a playful jab at Hanbin’s stomach.
“I’m also lucky to have her as my boss.” You concurred.
“But what time is Junhoe coming though?” Yunhyeong asked, his gaze roamed across the hall to find Junhoe. You and Hanbin both glanced around to look for Junhoe too.
You took out your phone when you felt it vibrate from your purse and saw Junhoe's text; Hi, I'm here, where are you?
At that exact moment, you easily sensed there had been a sudden shift in the crowd's murmurs. Whispers and hushed conversations began rippling through the guests, and like them, your attention was immediately captured by a lavish pair making their way to the front doors.
You catch yourself staring at Junhoe who was dressed impeccably in a black Prada suit. But you didn't fail to notice the woman accompanying him—none other than his fiancée, Shin Yuna.
You saw it on the news a year ago—his engagement to his girlfriend of four years. A model and singer-turned-actress he met from one of his movies when he was still acting. The two made their relationship public after promoting their romantic comedy film. It was believed that the co-stars developed feelings for each other on set.
You had seen him wearing the engagement ring on his finger at the coffee shop yesterday—a detail you had momentarily forgotten. Seeing him now walking with his fiancée by his side reminds you of his existing commitment.
Before you could even reply to his message, Junhoe already saw you and was strolling closer to your direction.
“Y/n!” He called. “Sorry we got stuck in traffic a bit. So glad you made it.”
Junhoe beamed at you.
You felt embarrassed for yourself because you knew that smile had some effect on you. You could only blame it on his meticulously slicked black hair, or his sharp, masculine features like his chiseled jawline. His well-tailored Prada suit accentuated his lean frame, adding an aura of suaveness to his already striking appearance. Junhoe exuded a strong and alluring profile, and the list could go on, but you instantly stopped yourself from having these thoughts. There is no way you are attracted to your childhood best friend, who is obviously engaged to a beautiful, perfect woman such as Shin Yuna.
“Thank you for the invitation, Junhoe.” You managed to say, desperately hoping you weren't blushing in front of everyone. Might as well just be swallowed whole into the ground.
Thankfully, Hanbin waved his hand at Junhoe, distracting him away from you.
“Annyeong!” Hanbin greeted him.
“Hyung!” Junhoe greeted back, exchanging Hanbin's wave for a warm hug, startling  you and Yunhyeong. Hanbin appeared taken aback, but you could tell he appreciated the brotherly gesture.
Junhoe then scoffed at Yunhyeong upon seeing him. “Nice to see you too, Yun!”
Yunhyeong shook his head and played along with Junhoe's taunts, forcing you to laugh with them as if it were the old times.
“Junhoe you haven’t changed a bit. I'm the oldest and you still disrespect me.”
“I bet you missed me so much huh?”
“Never once thought of you at all. The only reason I'm here is because they need my excellent catering service.”
“There's poison in the food for sure.”
“Why don't you starve in the corner please? Thank you very much.”
It was their usual back-and-forth banter since childhood that you had missed.  Among the boys, Yunhyeong was the oldest and everyone addressed him as hyung, except Junhoe. The other boys never questioned it. They knew Yunhyeong had a soft spot for the youngest, just like you had always favored Junhoe, even though they often acted like the Tom and Jerry of the group.
Amidst the playful chatter, Junhoe felt Yuna's grasp, redirecting his attention to her.
“I'm sorry about that jagiya.” Junhoe felt a slight wave of panic realizing he had nearly forgotten to introduce her to his friends.
“By the way, this is my fiancée Shin Yuna.”
Yuna offered a polite smile as she took a glimpse at each of you. It was undeniable how well she complemented Junhoe. Adorned in a stunning Versace gown, Shin Yuna was a doe-eyed, charismatic woman with a figure that boasted possibly the tiniest waist you had ever seen.
Before any of you could exchange greetings with her, she had already excused herself.
“I'm sorry I can't stay longer, but it was nice meeting all of you! I'll leave Junhoe with you guys.”
Is it just you, or does it look like she doesn't want to be here and interact with Junhoe's old friends?
You could see the instant dismay on Junhoe's face upon hearing that from his fiancée.
“Yuna, we just got here.” He said, sounding disappointed.
Yuna swiveled to face him, her voice lowered but still audible. “Jun, honey, you're with your friends. I'd like to look at the paintings, and besides, Hyunjin wants to see me.”
Junhoe sighed in resignation. “Fine. Tell Hyunjin I said hi. I'll catch up with the two of you later.”
“Great!” Yuna pecked Junhoe's lips and left without saying another word to your group.
A brief awkward silence ensued before Junhoe suggested, “Let's get some wine, shall we?”
************************************************************************
Knowing you didn't own a car, Hanbin offered to drive you home that same evening. His route would conveniently pass by your apartment, unlike Yunhyeong and Yeri who live in opposite directions. They also wanted to guarantee you'll get home safely rather than having to commute like you usually do. But all throughout the ride, the events from earlier were playing over in your mind. Seeing Junhoe again with Yunhyeong and Hanbin, filled you with overwhelming happiness. Despite Jiwon and Donghyuk's absence, you found solace in their company as you all reminisced about the past and shared updates on your current lives.
There was, however, a hint of melancholy as the conversation took a more personal turn. Was it the sadness you caught in Junhoe's eyes when he told Yunhyeong and Hanbin about giving up his singing career? Or was it because he already had plans to marry Yuna? Maybe it was how you were reminded of your own single hood when they asked you casually about your dating status—why, among all your friends, had you never been in a relationship?
Well, that wasn't entirely true. You had a few dates that just never turned into something serious. You could only brush it off, claiming you were never interested in anyone and were too focused on work. But deep down you knew that wasn't the case anymore, especially now that you've reconnected with Junhoe. You couldn't stop yourself from admiring how effortlessly handsome he looked all night, and how gentlemanly he had been towards you. You knew it was wrong, yet why did seeing him with Yuna affect you? Perhaps you had too much wine at the exhibit that made you think this way.
You didn't notice the engine of the car turned off until Hanbin's voice spoke to you. “You're home.”
“Thanks Bin.” You gave him a lopsided grin from the passenger seat.
“Did you have fun?” He asked observing your face slightly illuminated by the light coming from your apartment building.
“Did you?” You returned the question to him.
“It was really nice.” He answered as he pulled his hands off the steering wheel.
“I was so caught up talking to you guys that I've almost forgotten about the paintings!” You told him.
You and Hanbin chuckled at that.
Hanbin's countenance took on a serious tone, as though he wanted to talk to you longer while you were still in the car.
“You know how long we've been best friends right?” He started.
“Since forever.” You smiled sheepishly.
“And that makes you easy for me to read.” He stated.
“O-kay yeah, I guess. Your point?” You asked, puzzled as to where he was going with this.
“I don't know why all this time I've never told you this, y/n." Hanbin paused for a few seconds before he continued,  “I know you've been in love with Junhoe ever since.”
Silence fell on you. You didn't know how to respond to that. You wanted to deny it outright, to refute his words that you only love and see Junhoe as a friend, yet no sound escaped your lips. The words were stuck in your throat, tangled with your conflicting emotions. Junhoe had always been a cherished childhood friend, akin to a little brother. This perception made it easier for you to dismiss any deeper feelings you might have had for him. You convinced yourself that they were purely platonic to maintain the status quo. Nevertheless, you were aware that you had been suppressing the truth about how your affection for him had grown into something more profound, despite your efforts to dismiss it. The countless seasons spent together during your childhood as you grew up alongside him and watched him chase his dreams, had inevitably laid the foundation for a mere friendship that went beyond.
“Let's be real here, he's the exact reason why you can't take any guy seriously.” Hanbin added.
You just sat there, unable to form a coherent response. Whenever you attempted to date or enter a relationship, you found yourself retreating, sensing that something was always missing. No matter how hard you tried to deny it, no one could compare to Junhoe.
You attempted to push aside these unwelcome thoughts, knowing that there was no possibility he could feel the same way about you, not to mention he could be getting married soon. You reassured yourself that you would come to terms with your feelings and move on once he took that step. For now, you resolved to remain content in your role as a friend, focusing on valuing the friendship you have rather than dwelling on what could never be.
“I know my place, Bin.” You finally got to tell him. “I’m happy with what we have right now.”
“Look, all I wanted to say is, I just don't want you to end up hurt again.” Hanbin expressed his concern.
“You know I’m a big girl right? I can look after myself.” You winked at him. “I appreciate you though.”
Hanbin could only let out a sigh. He averted his gaze from you and suddenly shifted the subject that had you flabbergasted.
“Something seems off about his fiancée. I can sense it, and it makes me feel sorry for him.”
"What the hell, Bin?" You retorted.
Hanbin has an intuitive knack for assessing people he meets, often making character judgments based on first impressions. Unfortunately, Yuna was no exception.
"We don't really know what their relationship is like in private." You could only say. Although you admit you were offended by how she behaved that way in front of his fiance's friends.
Hanbin continued.
“I don't understand why Junhoe had to give up singing for writing, you know? Even acting, he gave up too.  Can't he do it all at the same time? I thought he loved singing more than anything.”
That's what you have thought as well. Junhoe has always had a great love for singing, a passion evident to anyone who knew him. From a young age, his talent shone brightly, captivating audiences with his soulful voice. He seemed born for the stage, effortlessly blending emotion and skill in every performance. Singing wasn't just a hobby for Junhoe; it was his calling, the very essence of his being. You asked yourself if he genuinely wanted to explore other paths and as he said, it was about time he settled down in life by marrying Yuna. You felt a gnawing sense of unease, pondering over Junhoe’s choices. There had to be more to it than meets the eye. It was becoming overwhelming, considering you were grappling with your unresolved feelings for him at the same time. Exhaustion and sleepiness begin to settle in your body.
You decided not to linger in Hanbin’s car any further, feeling that your night was over. After saying your goodbyes, you walked to your apartment, trying to quiet your racing thoughts. You hoped for a restful night’s sleep to be ready for work the next morning.

Destiny Chapter 2 – Too Far Away
Tumblr media
Preview
Mini Masterlist
Characters:  Song Yunhyeong (iKON), You (Reader/OC), cameo of Blackpink’s Lisa and a mention of Kwon Jiyong
Genre/s:  Angst, Soulmate!AU
Length:  5,165 words
Warning/s:  Pure Angst, mentions of terminal illness, etc.
Plot:  6,799 – The digital compass on your left inner wrist flashes in front of your eyes every time you wake up in the morning, and it just stays there for the rest of the day.  You do know that your soulmate is too far away – thinking that he must be residing on the other side of the world.  You waited for him to find you, but he seems like he didn’t make any move to find you, at all.  Until, one day, your friend encouraged you to find him.
A/N:  This is pure angst, you’ve been warned.  Please read with caution.  Also, I did bend a soulmate rule here, so yeah, it adds to the caution I guess. Let me know what you think!!!
6,799.
Sometimes a few miles will be added or deducted here and there, but whenever you are inside the comforts of your own small apartment, the digital compass that indicates how far your soulmate is, is stuck in that number.
The numbers on your inner wrist initially appeared when you were a freshman in high school, like majority of your friends and your classmates, however you were the only one who had a number that is greater than a thousand miles, which disappointed you back then, because the others were merely hundreds of miles away, it means that they can always go see their soulmate even if they’re just students.
Due to school and your family not having much money, you didn’t dare ask if you travel to the other side of the world to meet your soulmate.  In fact, you were barely legal, so it would me much more of an inconvenience for your parents more than you.  So, you just waited.  Some of your friends said that since he is the guy, then he must be the one to go find you, not you, since you are a lady and there is no way that you would follow a guy, even though he was your soulmate.
Back then, you believed them.
Sadly, until now.
As you lie awake in your bed, staring at the numbers as if they are permanent tattoos on your wrist, you sighed, thinking as to why your soulmate didn’t even make a move to come for you.  It has been 10 years or so since the internal compass appeared, and you are pretty much legal already, and you assume that he is the same, you hope.
Life has been okay for you, to say the least.  You are finishing college and about to graduate in a few months on the course that you have been wanting to pursue since you were little.  You have a small apartment that you share with your best friend since college started, your parents are still running the small restaurant a few blocks away from your home and about 3 hours of bus ride from your apartment, and your only brother will enter the same university in a few months.
You are pretty much contented with how your life is going.  You are sure that you can secure a good job after graduation because of your grades, so you didn’t worry much about that.  However, what kept you up and thinking a little too much is, well, if you cannot emphasize it further, the numbers.
You tried to keep it on the low down when you are with your family, brushing off any of their questions if your soulmate had already come and find you, or are there any changes in the mile radius at all, etc.  Its same old, same old.  You got tired eventually, just telling them that you are okay living by yourself and you are 100% fine, and they should not worry about you.
But, whenever you are alone in your thoughts, especially on your favorite bed with the only source of light being the small lamp at the bed side table on your right, you do know that you totally mind.
You sometimes wonder, are they doing okay? Are they thinking about you and how you look like?  Do they even want to meet you?  Do they even want to be known?  They never attempted to move and find you, so what else can you think about?  You sometimes thought that they might be dead, but you do know that once they’re dead, the numbers will totally be gone from your inner wrist, which is not the case.
“Thinking about your soulmate again?”  Your best friend, Lauren, came in to the door, and you immediately slide down the bed, hiding both of your arms beneath your comforter.
“You should really learn how to knock.”
Lauren just snorted and you roll your eyes at her, but you moved to the side of the bed, allowing your friend to scoot next to you, half lying on the bed as she leans her body towards your direction.
“If you really want to meet him, why don’t you find him?”
Lauren has been bringing this topic up since forever, but you would always say that it is not possible because of your hectic timetable at school and your part-time job.  So you just gave her the same answer.
“Hmm, ______, in case you still don’t know, we’re graduating in a month and we already had our clearance and final grades covered, so we are technically on holiday…”  It was her turn to roll her eyes dramatically and letting out whines of disappointment as to why you had forgotten about it.
“I know, but… I shouldn’t be the ones looking for him, right?  He should because he is the man!”  You pouted and Lauren just looked at you with disbelief.
“You still believe that thing that your friends and family told you?”  She flicks your forehead and you whined in pain, you were about to retaliate but Lauren held her hand up, silently telling you to shut it.
“______, we are at the new age, if the girl is the one who decided to find her soulmate, it doesn’t make the guy less of a person. What if he has some personal issues he needed to deal with that’s why he cannot go out and find you himself? There should be a reason behind it, ______, you need to find out or else it’s going to stress you out all the time.”
“But – how will I do that, I don’t even know where exactly he is?”
“What is the use of the internet and laptop for? Seriously, how did you pass college with that brain?”
This time you didn’t stop yourself when you whack a pillow on your best friend’s face.
The next morning, you were at the kitchen counter waiting for the coffee to brew and for your bread to toast.  Lauren is long gone since she had an early morning class, so she’s already running to the door when you went out of your room.
You two did stay up quite late last night trying to search for a place that would match the distance on your wrist.  The result that appeared didn’t really bring much of a shock to you, but you’re still a little worried since it really is far from where you are, you sure did see a few photos and had read about it being really beautiful.
“Lauren, that is too far.”
“Obviously, its more than 6000 miles.”
“What if he doesn’t like me?  What if he pushes me away once I get there?”
“You will not know until you get there.”  She switches over to a website to check flights, hotels, and car rentals in the area and your eyes widened and you placed your hand atop hers on the mouse.
“Lauren, wait –“
“______ -“  Your best friend looks at you and you were taken aback when you saw the concern and worry in her eyes.
“I swear, you are going to worry about this forever, you not meeting your soulmate.  It is not that you wanted to worry all the time, but that is your inborn reaction to it.  Remember when I tried to avoid Jake when I found out he is my soulmate because Karen had a crush on her?”  You bit your lower lip at the memory, yes, you had seen how Lauren was like, and Jake too, since you are sharing majority of your classes with him.  You remember how Jake would always ask you where Lauren is but since Lauren asked you to not tell him anything about her whereabouts. Your best friend was equally devastated, not eating and sleeping well and just staring at her wrist all the time.
“______, I don’t want you to be like that for the rest of your life.” She runs her hands on your exposed shoulder.
“At least if you get to see him, you’ll be able to meet him, you can ask him anything you want to, you would know the answers to the questions that has been eating you up ever since…”  You looked away, not knowing how to respond to her.
“And since he is your soulmate, you might finally find your forever in him, and you won’t be forever alone, just like how you deem you will be.”
You let out a huge sigh just as the coffee brewed completely and your toast has popped out of the machine.  You grabbed the mug and the toast, putting them on a plate before scurrying to the kitchen table.
You didn’t stop Lauren when she booked you a flight to the country where your soulmate is, as well as a hotel room for 3 nights and a car rental good for 4 days, in case you and your soulmate would want to stroll around.  She had paid for your flight tickets so you really cannot argue much.  Also, you didn’t really have any plans before graduation anyway.
Deep inside, you are happy.  You will be seeing your soulmate in a few days, and you will know how they look like, and you will finally unravel the truth behind the uncertainties lingering in your head for the last 10 years.
However – you are also worried, maybe more worried than happy to be honest.  What if he doesn’t really want to meet you that’s why he didn’t try finding you in the first place?  What if all of this is just a waste of time and you were just mistaken?  You shake the uneasy feeling off and just started eating your breakfast; thinking that it’s better to just think of how you can pack for a trip on the other side of the world for four days and three nights.
“Let me know how it goes, okay?”  Lauren whispers against your ear when your parents were out of earshot.  You told them that you are going on a business trip from the company where you had an internship so they were more than happy to let you go, telling you to buy them some stuff from that country as presents.
You glanced at your ticket and passport one more time before boarding, this is really it, and I’m finally meeting my soulmate.  You took a deep breath and smiled at yourself, thinking of sleeping the entire 16-hour non-stop flight so that you’ll have enough rest before finding your soulmate.
Guess who got sleep.  Well, maybe your seatmate who had been drooling for the last 14 hours, but certainly not you.
You watched in amusement as the numbers gradually decrease on your inner wrist as the hours go by.  In 2 hours, you will be landing, and you are sure that the numbers will just be in two digits by the time you went out of the local airport.
250.
You never thought that you will be seeing this in your entire life, ever.  You had lost sleep and tiredness the moment you see the numbers drop, but you didn’t mind, you are more than happy than you’ve ever been before.
Since you left home in the afternoon and there is a crazy difference on the time between your country and your soulmate’s, you arrived at the local airport at 10:00 AM.  When the representative from the car rental company welcomed you, she offered to drive you to your hotel as a courtesy, despite you saying no, she insisted, already opening the door to the passenger seat after you’d settled your luggage at the compartment.
The distance on your wrist had lowered to 80 as the woman drive all the way to the hotel where you’ll be staying.  Your heartbeat is erratic and you need to clutch your chest to try to calm it down a bit.  Hopefully the woman will not notice how uneasy you are the entire ride.
When you get to the hotel room after bidding the woman good bye and checking in, you gasped when the mile radius is now down to 50. It means that your soulmate will just be about a few hours away.
You wanted to get to where he’s at right at that moment, but your body felt exhausted because of the long flight, so you decided to take a shower, order some food before getting some much needed rest, opting to go find your soulmate tomorrow morning instead.
You were all dressed up and your light make up is done as you stare at the mirror, your bag on one hand and your keys at the other.
You are really doing this, you are going to see him, whoever he is.  Is he looking for you too?  Is he feeling giddy or happy that the numbers on his wrist are dropping too?  Does he even notice it?  Does he even know that his soulmate is just about a few miles away?
You took a deep breath, calming your thoughts and your slightly shaking body.  There is no backing out now.  You stared at yourself through the mirror and promised yourself that whatever the outcome of this whole adventure is, you will accept it and you will happy.  Though at the deeper part of your heart, you want this to end in a good way.
The compass seemed to have an additional feature that you never get to learn before, because it suddenly included the north, east, west, and south options at the bottom part.  You guess that this might be something unique to those who have their soulmates nearby.
You used it as a guide as you drive your way along the streets of an unknown territory, finding an unknown person, the path you’re taking slightly dangerous but the excitement ran heavily against your veins, the idea that your soulmate will just a few minutes away, thrilled you, both in a good and bad way.
You turned left, then right, then just straight ahead, the word north had been constant and unchanging for the last 30 minutes, the mile radius dropping continuously.  You halted when the only number you can see is 0.1, surprised that you got there pretty fast.
You looked around, the area is obviously commercial, and so you’re thinking that your soulmate might be working on one of the establishments.  However the one next to your car and the closest too, is something that you are not expecting to see.
A hospital.
Alright.  Maybe he is a doctor?  Or a nurse? A medical staff?
You took another deep breath when drove to the allotted parking space not too far from the street where you came from.  You stepped out of your car, walking towards the hospital building and the word left appeared on your wrist.  You walked to your left, after a few steps, the distance dropped to 0.07.  You continued walking, the compass telling you to turn right, so you went ahead, and you were welcomed by a few private rooms, you even saw a patient going out of the room accompanied by a nurse.  You walked straight, your knees wobbling slightly and your heart about to burst out of your chest.  You took deep, slow breaths to calm yourself down.
0.03. Right.
You met another corner and you can feel sweat beading on your forehead.  You quickly wiped it with your handkerchief before letting out another huge breath.
This is it.
You turned left, only to be welcomed by a set of tall, glass doors with a huge sign printed on top.
ONCOLOGY.
You stopped abruptly, causing you to bump against a hurrying hospital staff and you apologized to her, and she bowed but continued walking past you, scurrying to get inside quickly.
Thoughts are running through your head and you are thinking whether you should continue or not.
However, Lauren’s words lingered on your head, reminding you of your purpose.  You already came this far, there’s not backing out now.  No matter what welcomes you, good or bad, you will accept it, and you’ll take it.
You just hope that it is something good, at least.
You walked through the glass doors, slowly, dragging your shaking limbs towards the clean, white walled hallway.  The compass says north, so you continued heading straight ahead, seeing a couple of more doors painted with either cream or dull orange colors, with a small window to peak at, partnered with a small shelf on the wall to its right, indicating the room number, name of the patient, and the doctor in charge.
The compass on your inner wrist sent a dull, burning feeling when it finally hit zero and you froze, in front of you is a door a little bigger than the rest that you’ve seen, and the color is a bright red.  You took a few steps towards the door, looking at the shelf to the right to read the details.
121
Patient: Yunhyeong, Song
Attending Oncologist:  Jiyong, Kwon
Attending Nurse:  Manobal, Lisa
 Oh.  Okay.
You started to wonder, who among the two is your soulmate?
You took another deep breath, you will finally know the answer once you enter that door.
You can do this, ______.  Just do it.
You are about to open the door when, all of a sudden, a tall, lean girl went out of the room on her nurse uniform.  She must be the attending nurse.
“Hey, can I help you?”  She said in English, figuring that you are not a local.  You looked at her brown, round eyes as you try to formulate a response, are you just going to say that you are here because you are looking for your soulmate?  You know that it is not a weird thing, because it is common, but you can’t help but feel a little embarrassed and worried.
“I –I’m,” You cleared your throat and introduced yourself, fiddling with the sleeve of your coat, tugging it upwards unconsciously.
“Oh, hi, ______.  My name is Lalisa, but I preferred to be called Lisa, I am the attending nurse for the patient in this room.  Do you know him by any chance?”  She says with a smile as bright as sun.  You bit your lower lip before fixing your gaze at the ground.
“Ugh, I might, but… also maybe not.  Uhm… is the… attending Oncologist inside this room too?”
“Oh, Doctor Kwon?  No, he is at the other building doing a surgery… It’s just Yunhyeong who’s inside.  Are you looking for Doctor Kwon then?”
Your eyes widened in shock and slight disappointment.  It means that your soulmate is the guy named Song Yunhyeong… and he is a patient in the Oncology department of this hospital…  It only means one thing, right?
“______?”  Lisa’s voice snapped you out of your reverie, and you shook your head quickly.  Okay, he might be a patient here – but he must be healing, right?  He is here to heal anyway, so why worry so much?
“S-sorry…”  You trailed off as you tried to speak again.
“I – I know this may sound a little weird but…” You lifted your left arm before tugging the sleeve down, revealing the digital compass on your inner wrist.  “I hope… this explains things?”  You whispered and nibbled on your bottom lip as you stared at the woman in front of you.  She looked at your wrist thoroughly and she smiled a little before shaking her head slightly.
“I guess that’s the reason why he’s been up all night.”  She murmured before letting out a breath.  “Follow me.”  She held the door open, gesturing for you to come in and you looked at her nervously, but she just smiled at you before tilting her head to the side.  You stepped in to the room, and you paused midway as you look at the young man dressed in a hospital suit, standing in front of the ceiling to floor glass windows overlooking the hospital’s garden and mini park.
“You’re back right a-“  Yunhyeong turned around and was cut off when his eyes captured a new face inside his room.
“Ah!”  He gasped when he felt the numbers on his wrist burn a little, just like how it was a few minutes before Lisa stepped out of the room.  He looked up and the girl was also rubbing her inner wrist, and realization hit him then.
When Yunhyeong also rubbed his inner wrist, you know it was him.  You stared at the young man, he is handsome, his tall nose and perfectly sketched jaw – the sunlight from the windows beaming at him and he looks like an angel.  Your eyes started to water and you smiled at him, you didn’t notice that you are already running towards his direction.  He was taken aback when he felt your arms around him, burying your face against his chest as you started to sob against it.
Yunhyeong cannot deny that he felt his heart soften when he sees you, he knows that you are the one, the one who’s meant to be his other half forever.  However, he thinks that not everything that fate and symbols indicate are really meant to be.
You gasped when you finally realized that you are hugging him.  He might be your soulmate, but he is technically still a stranger.  You cursed internally and, embarrassed, you pulled away slowly, wiping your tear-stained face before taking a few steps back.
“S-sorry – I was just… uhm.”  You rubbed the back of your neck and the young man did the same, but he smiled at you.
“I-It’s okay…”  He said shyly and you looked up to him.
“I – you might already know who I am, I mean, who I am but not my name…”  You ranted.  “I’m ______, I am your-“
“Soulmate, yes, I know.”  He smiles again and you figured that it is one of the best and most beautiful smiles you’ve ever seen.
“Y-yeah…”  You confirmed before looking away.
“______!”  Lisa’s voice interrupted the awkward silence surrounding you and Yunhyeong, and you accepted the distraction.  “Why don’t you sit at the chair next to the bed?  Yunhyeong go sit there, you know you cannot stand up for too long, right?” Lisa pursed her lips together and you are not sure but you did see a glimmer at her eyes and Yunhyeong pouted at her cutely.  Oh.
“No buts, just-just sit there, you two cannot talk like that the whole time.”  She guided you to sit on the chair allotted for visitors, just next to the head of the bed, your soulmate trailing behind.
Yunhyeong sat on the edge of the bed, a few steps away from you.  Lisa smiled at the two of you and about to leave the room, but Yunhyeong grabbed her hand, pulling her back, intertwining their fingers together.  Oh.
“Yunhyeong –“
“Stay.”  He looks up to her and Lisa looked at you, her expression sad and you are confused, your eyebrows are furrowed and your palms are pressed together on your lap.
“Yun – you two need to talk alone, I can’t be here.”
“But – I need you to be here.  She needs to know.”  Your soulmate muttered and you haven’t realized that your whole body is trembling, the fear that you’ve been trying to bury deep within your guts is slowly creeping out of its grave, crawling towards the forefront of your brain.
Shit, hold your shit together, you don’t know yet, allow them to explain.
Yunhyeong’s eyes meet yours and you almost break down right then there when the look on his eyes is teary, and apologetic.
“______…”  He trails off as he grips Lisa’s hand tighter, despite the other woman struggling to remove it from his grip, looking away.  His other hand went to settle on your tensed shoulder, making you flinch and Yunhyeong pulled his hand away altogether.
“A-are you and Lisa, together?”  You looked at him after letting out a shaky breath and his eyes drifted to the ground, before he nods.
“Yun –“
“We are married…”  Yunhyeong continues, holding both of his and Lisa’s hands up high to reveal the matching diamond rings they have on their ring fingers, making you choke on our own spit, the burning feeling at the middle of your chest is slowly spreading all throughout your body as you tried to hold back the tears that are brimming on your eyelids.
“I really need to go, Yunhyeong – I’m sorry, ______, I – will come back a little later.  Yun, just… just talk to her.”  Lisa blinked away a few tears on her eyes before scrambling to get her stuff and walking out of the room, leaving you and your soulmate alone.
“I-is she the reason why you never looked for me?” You tried to sound adamant, but you completely failed.  Why did he marry a girl who’s not his soulmate?  “Isn’t that, I don’t know, against fate?”  You laughed a little, your voice laced with a little venom that you never really intended, but it still come out.
“P-Partly…”  Yunhyeong said and you looked at him.  Before you even get to ask, he continues.
“I’m dying, ______.”
Right.
If knowing that your soulmate is married to someone else is already devastating, this one sure did shatter your heart to millions of pieces.
“I’ve been diagnosed with bone cancer since I was little…”  He lifts his hand as he tries to open and close his fist.  “The doctors are surprised I made it this far…”  He chuckles a bit.  “But I guess I only had to make it this far.”  He lets out a sad laugh.  “I had three transplants over the last 10 years, but it didn’t help much.  It only added years to my life, but, eventually, my body is slowly giving up on me, until I cannot take it anymore.”  He looks at you and you held the sheets at the side of the bed to hold yourself together.
“I’m sorry.  I wanted to find you before, but I thought that it just doesn’t make sense since I will die anyway.  I never knew that you will – you will try looking for me.  I’m sorry if I…”  He bites his lower lip and you closed your eyes.  “I disappointed you.”
“It’s okay…”  You are disappointed, but you are, at the same time, sad that the fate of your soulmate is like this.  He looks really young, probably just about your age, and he has a terminal illness. He may not be with you, but it will be better to learn that he will live a longer time with someone that he really loves.  You also thought that if you tried finding him sooner, like Lauren had suggested, you might have been with him, instead of Lisa.
The way he looks at Lisa is something that you had secretly hoped he would look at you before you met him.  The way he holds her hands firmly, and the way he begs for her to be with him.
You secretly wanted that.
You were speechless when you felt Yunhyeong’s arms wrap around your shoulders, pulling your head against his chest and you gave your everything to not bawl your eyes out.  You bite your lower lip so hard, you pressed your toes against the tiled floor, and you squeezed your hands together, you will not cry, especially not in front of him.  You tried to keep a little pride to yourself, to show your soulmate that you are okay, chanting the phrase that you and Lauren had practiced before you get on to your flight, no matter how this turns out, you will accept it whole-heartedly.
Yunhyeong pulls away before cupping your face.
“I hope you’ll find someone who will love and take care of you for the rest of your life…”  He wipes a single tear that left your right eye without you knowing before pressing a light kiss on your forehead.  “You deserve it.”  He murmurs and you find yourself nodding, wrapping your fingers around his wrists.
“Thank you, Yunhyeong…”  You chuckled before looking up to him.  “I am… just happy that I finally get to meet you and know who you are.”  You helped him sit down on the bed when you saw him wobble on his steps back.
“I sincerely am happy that… I get to meet you… Honestly I will be happier if… the situation is better… but I am happy nonetheless…”  You smiled at him and he smiles back.
“Thank you.  I’m happy that I met you too, I am sorry again if I made you travel thousands of miles away only to find out that your soulmate is dying… and married.”  He bows his head and you shake your head, lifting the boy’s chin to meet your gaze.
“Don’t be sorry, it’s not your fault.  I am happy, I promised myself that however this… journey turns out, I will be happy, for myself, and for you.”  You kissed both of his cheeks and Yunhyeong blushes and he nods.
“______?”  He asks and you looked at him.
“Once the numbers completely fade away, you would know that… I’m already gone.”  He says and you felt your heart drop to your stomach, but you kept it to yourself. You nodded and pulled away, grabbing your purse from the chair and smiling at him.
“I… I actually really needed to head back to the hotel, I didn’t have much time here since graduation is nearing…”  You fiddled with your phone that you got from the purse before looking at him.
“And my flight back home is tomorrow morning…” You tittered half-heartedly and Yunhyeong nods, understanding.
“I… I hope you’ll get well soon, Yunhyeong… and you take care, okay?”  You waved at him with a heavy heart.  You did try to look at this kind of scenario happening, but it is 10x more hurtful that what you imagined.
“Bye, ______.”  He waves back and you walk your way out of the room, your limbs gaining speed until you are running out of the building, towards your parked car and you finally let the dam broke when you stepped in to the driver’s seat, burying your face against the steering wheel, crying your guts out at the least expected outcome of this whole journey.
The next morning, you had requested to move your flight that afternoon, there is no point of staying longer anyway.  You had packed your bags and when you go over your purse to get your card out for check out, you felt a cold, thin steel grazing your fingers, which made you confused, you know that you put all your jewelry inside the box, which you put inside your luggage.
You took it out, and you gasped when you saw a gold chained necklace with a pendant.  You held it up to a clearer view of what the pendant looks like.  You held your mouth when you felt fresh tears on your eyes.
6799.
Uhm first I wanna say I’m sorry if this is not a happy ending >< Please stay tuned on the sequel soon!  I guess you already for which member will it be hahaha!
See y’all in the next update :)

Ikon Reaction To You Wanting To Break Up But They Don’t
asleephun said: hi sweet, can you please do a "when you want to break up but they doesn't because they still love you" reaction with ikon? thank you, i really enjoy ur reactions 💓
(a/n): Finally did this request. Sorry that it took ages! Hope you like it.
Jinhwan:
At the beginning, he had no clue what your intentions were but realizing it was because of the loss of connection between you two and that you guys can’t have a proper conversation, he would wanna try to change that. Tries to convince you otherwise.
Tumblr media
Yunhyeong:
It hit him like a rock when you told him that you felt like you’re both growing in different directions. He knew you both had a hard time lately but most certainly didn’t wanted to throw your relationship away. He wants to have a discussion with you, so you stay with him.
Tumblr media
Bobby:
After you sat down with him and cleared everything, he couldn’t stop a tear dripping down. It hurt him a lot when you said that he’s not putting any effort into the relationship no more. The whole conversation will probably turn into a fight. He’s not begging but still wanna try being with you.
Tumblr media
Hanbin:
He was devastated. I mean, he knew something was up by the way you acted lately but never in a million years he would’ve thought something like this would happen between you two. But there’s nothing he can really do about it, he thought. Will grief about his loss but wants you to be happy.
Tumblr media
Junhoe:
You told him that it feels like he’s putting his needs over your needs and that you can’t do it anymore. He then was in shock, not wanting to believe what just happened. He tries to explain his kind of view, even though it seems hopeless, that it’s not like that and that he never intended this.
Tumblr media
Donghyuk:
It felt horrible to hear that the reason for the break up is your jobs. He couldn’t always be with you because of his and now you’ll be transferred to another country. Something you couldn’t decline. He tries to convince you to stay and that a long distance relationship can work.
Tumblr media
Chanwoo:
He was shocked, when he heard that you no longer have reasons to stay. He tries to outvote you with every good memory you had while being together. But you question it and told him, you stayed because you were used to it. His mind went blank. Didn’t know what to feel anymore.

tears & raindrops mingle

In which you bump into the CEO of a nearby bar when you are just as heart-broken as him, and it doesn’t seem to go well at first.
♦ Pairing: bar CEO!Yunhyeong x jewellery shop CEO!reader/you
♦ Genre: fluff, light angst
♦ Words: 4.1k
♦ Warning: mentions of cheating (on other characters’ parts)
♦  Dedicated to: @flora-jimin for the Spring Fic Exchange based on the spring rain prompt! I really hope you enjoy my story as I’ve really enjoyed writing it! 💖
Song Yunhyeong had the most horrifying day ever. It wasn't enough that he got to know that the girl who had been his girlfriend for 3 years and to whom he had proposed a month ago was with him only for his money. He even eavesdropped that she was planning to hijack the success of his business using his weakness (aka her) against him. She knew that he would do as much for her as he could do within his power, but he would have never thought that she would want to ruin the image of his bar by a scandal. She said that she would gladly be found humping with another man in Yunhyeong's office, caught by a gossip magazine's journalist who was hungry for any juicy details in the CEO's life.
The young man couldn't believe his ears. Where did it go wrong? Was she a traitor from the beginning? How could he not see it? It's true that Yuri and him had almost the same opinion of everything and had almost the same preferences but was it all for just to seduce him? Was it all fun for her? While he knew from the beginning that Yuri was nowhere near as rich as him, it never bothered him. He didn't have a say in which family he was born into and she didn't have a say in it either. So why? Why did she do it? Was she really that heartless? Was Yunhyeong that terrible at reading people?
He was raging, feeling like a volcano that could erupt anytime soon, as he walked down the corridor from his office to the security guards and IT guys' office, bursting in without knocking on the door first. Everyone assumed that he was in a bad mood if he wasn't being dead polite.
"Do not let Kang Yuri into the bar ever again! Not today. Not tomorrow. Never!" He yelled frantically, and his fervent reaction was enough for the guys to shut their mouths and don’t ask about the reason behind his command. He shot another glance at them before he turned on his heels and shut the door behind him, listening to the echoes while he walked down the corridor.
He pushed the emergency exit door with all his power as he stepped into the chilly midnight air. The moment he stood outside, he was showered by rain, but he didn't mind. He didn't mind that his expensive suit was about to get totally drenched, he didn't mind that he would look like a fool who got caught in the sudden downpour that was so common in spring. He didn't mind. He was used, he was betrayed, he was being played. He couldn't care anymore. He wasn't going to go home anyway; he needed some time to himself to decide on the least problematic and most peaceful way to end whatever was going on between him and Yuri. Even if she didn't deserve it.
While he was just standing there in the rain, inwardly enjoying being hit by the merciless raindrops, you bumped into him and murmured a quiet apology. No matter how gentle he usually was, he couldn't take it today.
"I don't think I've heard what you said," he blurted out coldly, the air becoming even chillier around him. The equally soaked you was about to walk away, then suddenly turned around to face him. You were examining him, eyebrows furrowed in question, looking all businessy in your black women's suits, stylish high heels and designer bag. You wore an expensive necklace that stuck to you like second skin due to the raindrops claiming their place on your exposed neck.
Yunhyeong had no idea if you were always this stern, fierce flames dancing in your eyes, or it was the situation that made you uncharacteristically frustrated.
"I've said I'm sorry," you repeated again, lips in a firm line. "There must be something wrong with your hearing." You fixed the bag on your shoulder as you shot him a glare and was about to turn around again if Yunhyeong's words wouldn't have stopped you.
"Are you really trying to play this game?"
"I wasn't the one who started this," you stated matter-of-factly, the dancing flames in your eyes starting a more fervent routine than before. You seemed unfazed by the rain that was pouring onto you, not caring about the condition of you expensive dress. Funny how you seemed all tight and rich (and annoying), yet you let your designer bag get soaked in the rain. Not to mention your perfectly braided hair.
"You bumped into me," he pointed out as he took a step closer to you. He didn't seem to intimidate you though. Maybe it's because you were as tall as him with your high heels, or maybe you had just enough pride in you not to be swayed by a man like him.
"That was accidental. Haven't you heard about accidents?" You got back at him immediately and took a step closer to him, so that you would be even closer to him, your faces only an inch away. Yunhyeong could hear the erratic beating of your heart and wondered if he had played a role in its state.
"Oh yes, I did. I certainly did." He nodded nonchalantly, bitterness scratching his throat. "I've accidentally eavesdropped a conversation today that made me realize that my fiancée's with me only for my money. You can tell that I don't like accidents," he confessed straightforwardly, not caring if you knew who he was or if you would pass on the news. He didn't care. After all, his fiancée has wanted to do something similar to him.
"Today, I've accidentally walked in on my best friend having sex with my boyfriend of four years whom I've thought would marry me soon. And if that's not enough, they did it in our apartman, on my birthday, before I was supposed to go out for dinner with him. So you can tell that I don't like accidents either," you told him without a blink of an eye, without being ashamed of the past events. It's not like Yunhyeong thought that you should be ashamed. After all, it wasn't you who had cheated on your boyfriend.
On the other hand, the fact that you got to know about it today and you seemed so composed surprised him. A lot. On top of that, he was convinced that boyfriend of yours must have been either completely dumb or just another chaebol who didn't care how much money he lost by such a scandal. If it was ever going to surface.
"You look like you need a drink," Yunhyeong said quite emotionlessly, even though his grudge against you wasn't so powerful anymore. He began to understand you a bit more.
"Oh yes, I do." You nodded, half-laughing and half-snorting.
"I'll buy you a drink."
It was a mere offer on his part. If anything, it was a kind one. He knew you both had your own hardships to deal with, so he assumed that a drink or two may come in handy for you. On the other hand, you didn't take his side.
"I don't need your pity."
"If not for your douchebag boyfriend, then for your birthday. I'm the CEO of Full Moon, and I would need a drinking buddy anyway. You can join or you can go home drinking alone." He shrugged, his vision getting blurry because of the raindrops that got into his eyes. The rain didn't bother him though, it felt like as if it was going to wash away all the events from the day, all the bad that had happened. Even though he knew a mere spring downpour couldn't solve his problems, at least it wasn't sunny to make him feel even worse.
You weren’t bothered either. You were standing fierce and tall, clothes getting soaked and hair looking like a lost girl’s.
"I'm not going home," you blurted out after a few seconds of complete silence, except the sound of rain.
"Exactly." Yunhyeong bobbed his head agreeingly, and waited a bit before he headed back to his own bar. He wasn't surprised when you followed him, it wasn't that hard to imagine after seeing the flames in your eyes that became more powerful when you declared that you wouldn't want to go home. Considering that you had mentioned having a shared apartment with your boyfriend, he could understand why you didn't want to go home.
So you did. You followed him into his bar, taking a seat on the black leather seat beside him, elbows resting on the cold surface of the wooden counter. You enjoyed the slight jazz music that was playing from the speakers, the dim light that illuminated only what was needed to be illuminated and the rest was left in mysterious darkness, the chic yet somewhat fitting design of the whole place, black and burgundy being the dominant colours. There were only a few people at this hour, but considering that Yunhyeong had introduced himself as the CEO of the bar, you weren’t afraid that you would find yourself outside the place because of closing hours.
He ordered himself a drink and so did you. You seriously needed something strong, hoping that the euphoria that the alcohol would bring would be enough to erase the picture of your best friend getting down on your boyfriend, or at least to help to ease the pain. Anything but to face the consequences.
"So did it happen to you today, too? Getting to know about your fiancée's true intentions?" You couldn’t help but ask since the young man himself seemed so easily annoyed by a simple act of carelessness on your part. He must have gotten to know about it lately or he must not have been over it yet.
"Yes." He nodded, an aghast sigh escaping his lips. "I wish it didn’t happen today though. I should have known about it before. I wouldn’t have proposed to her then," he explained, eyes staring far ahead, breathing more erratic than it should have been. You looked at this heartbroken young man and wondered if he was really that blind to not see the signs or his fiancée was that good of an actress. After all, you couldn’t see things coming your way either. Maybe you were both too lost in your own feelings that you didn’t catch up to what was going on around you. Maybe you both just wanted to be loved and feel loved.
"It’s still better that you got to know about it now than if it happened later," you pointed out with a tilt of your head, thinking of the consequences of a later revelation. They hadn’t gotten married yet, so at least he didn’t need to worry about that part if he decided to leave his fiancée for good.
"Maybe." He nodded hearing your words, and you could definitely feel the sorrow in his words. It soaked through his voice, his shirt, his actions. He was a heartbroken man, his confessions dripping rawness and desperation. No matter how much he tried to hide it, you could see the real man behind the mask, you noticed his intense gazes and momental daydreams.
You soon fell into a comfortable silence that only the light music from the speakers interrupted. Your drink was ready in no time, and the barista put down both your order and the man’s order at the same time. You exchanged a glance with the CEO as you reached for the glass.
"Cheers!" He said, holding up his shot of vodka.
"Cheers!" You emulated his actions and consumed the soju in one-go. You immediately felt the warmth spreading through your body, the alcohol making its way through your system. It wasn’t a very familiar feeling as you didn’t drink a lot. In fact, you only drank if it was socially required at parties or other events that were more about your money than you personally. Sometimes you really hated your life. Sometimes you were thankful that you could start your own business because you were born into a rich family. Sometimes you imagined being just an ordinary woman, sometimes you enjoyed the glamour. It was nothing new though; the chaebol life had always been ambivalent.
"Oh, and happy birthday!" The CEO added after he gulped down his own drink and visibly flinched when the taste hit in. You bobbed your head as a sign of gratitude.
"Maybe it’s not my day but it can be my year," you added with a bittersweet smile as you looked at him, his lips also curling upwards. It wasn’t a friendly smile though, it was more like an empathetic, an understanding one. It was genuine and raw, it was all you could have asked for in such a situation.
"You’re right. You deserve better."
You had no idea what to say. You didn’t even know each other, you had met half an hour ago, and he was already talking about you as if he had known you all your life. It was weird, this kind of act right at the beginning of your conversation when you were so used to people sugarcoating their words or outright lying to you, keeping their distance from you when they got to know who you were. He either didn’t care or didn’t know how it was supposed to be.
"You don’t even know me," you remarked rather confusedly, hoping that he wouldn’t take your words the wrong way. He didn’t though.
"No one should be cheated on," he mused out loud, keeping the eye-contact for another minute or so before he turned back to order another round. Then, he casually loosened his necktie and stared far ahead.
You assumed that you two had more in common that you would have previously thought, and this night was enough to prove you right. More than enough.
The next morning you woke up at the exact same spot you talked to Yunhyeong the day before. You probably dozed off after your fourth bottle of soju because you had no recollection after that, hence the location seemed fitting. You didn't mean to stay the night, you didn't even mean to drink so much, but through the shared sorrow and compassion somehow you found talking to the CEO quite enjoyable. He was a breath of fresh air after meeting so many lifeless, two-faced rich people you had the chance to encounter. He was intelligent, not the obvious one, not even the fake one, yet the way he connected the dots and looked at the world was saying it all. He was kind and considerate too, not the pushy type though, he had just the right amount of curiosity. He was also a lot kinder throughout the night than compared to the way you met. Maybe it was because you went through kind of the same, or maybe he was usually this kind. You didn't know, you knew only a tad bit about him.
When you opened your eyes, you needed a minute to realize where you were and why you were there.
You stood up, but you immediately knew that it was a horrible idea when you needed to hold onto the bar counter, so that you wouldn't fall down.
"Easy there," a familiar male voice suggested gently, yet you could detect a bit of amusement behind his words. You could already feel him smiling even without properly looking at him.
"I'm perfectly fine," you tried to reason as you turned around to face a perfectly sober Yunhyeong with a neatly ironed shirt and clean cotton pants. So you were the only one who got knocked out last night. Good to know.
"Your reflexes wouldn't say the same." He giggled to himself before his features became solemn again. You eyed each other for a few seconds before he made his way around you and got behind the counter, filling a glass with water. "Here. You must be dehydrated," he added while a faint smile was dancing along the edges of his mellow lips. You knew that he was right as your throat was as dry as a desert, yet you needed a moment before you reached for the glass to gulp down its content in one go.
You put it down with a satisfied sigh, and looked back at Yunhyeong.
"Thank you." You bobbed your head as a sign of gratitude, hoping that he wouldn’t expect too much of you in such a state. You wouldn’t say that you had a headache or that you were that hungover. However, you definitely felt the heaviness in your body and you were definitely thirsty like never before. You should have eaten the night before, too, you reckoned as your stomach growled loudly.
"Seems like someone’s hungry," the CEO commented with a lopsided smile that you wished you could swipe off his face. You weren’t used to such cheekiness, especially not from someone who was your age (as you had discussed that you were the same liners). Yet, there was something childishly innocent about his playful behaviour you couldn’t quite pinpoint. He had this duality, and you weren’t sure when to take him seriously and when not to.
"It’s okay." You shook your head. "I’ll grab something on the way to work," you declared as you looked at your watch and realized that it was time you headed out for work. Even though you were the owner of your very own jewellery shop, even though you could have come by any minute and you could have skipped any day without notifying anyone, you weren’t one to abandon what you’ve been working for years, and you were definitely not one to call in sick just because you had a drunk night.
"Are you sure you don’t want to eat here?" Yunhyeong inquired with a quirk of an eyebrow, but you nodded anyway.
"Yes, I’m sure. You’ve already done enough."
"It was nothing, really." The CEO shrugged like it was really nothing when it was more than you could have asked for. Even though it wasn’t intentional, at least you had somewhere to sleep, at least you didn’t need to face neither your boyfriend, nor your best friend, and at least Yunhyeong kept you company. Come to think of it, it wasn’t that bad of a night despite the horrible events that led you to the bar.
"Thank you, Yunhyeong," you repeated with a grateful smile for which the young man just shook his head.
"No problem. You can come by anytime," he offered with a soft smile, and you felt odd under his stare. Maybe it was because you were still very much affected by what happened the day before, or maybe it was because you had lost all faith in males, and there was this gentle young man showing you that not all guys were as much of an asshole as your boyfriend was. Or ex-boyfriend. Whatever. There was still something left to discuss with him.
"I will," you promised equally casually, and headed out of the bar with a lighter heart and a newfound acquaintance in the same district you had your own shop.
As both your shop and Yunhyeong's bar was on the same shopping street (which was said to be the most chic in Seoul), you didn't hesitate a lot when you finished with work in time, and didn't feel like going straight home. Yunhyeong even paid for your drinks every time you were there even if you insisted that you earned enough, so you could pay for your own order. When it came to business, he was as serious as no one you had met before, yet when he was off-work, he wasn't so stern. He joked around a lot and whined like a child even though he was already in his mid-twenties. He seemed like such a brat sometimes. He was also very enthusiastic and curious, so when you showed him around your shop for the first time, he looked around like Alice in Wonderland. It was odd seeing him among all those fancy rings and necklaces you were selling, and it was even more weird because he was a male. You didn't like stereotypes but males were rare to find in your shop.
Truth to be told, you weren't used to having a companion almost every day. You tried to be on good terms with your employees, but none of them were close to you. Not to mention your family. You didn't hate them, but you didn't even fancy spending time with them when it wasn't necessary. You were thankful for what you had, yet you had such different mentalities that it was difficult not to pick a fight with them whenever you spent time together.
With Yunhyeong, you weren't lonely even if you had just broken up with your boyfriend and had also lost contact with your best friend after what had happened. You knew that it was over, but you decided to give a chance for both of them to explain themselves, and it didn’t go well, to say the least. You ended up drinking at Full Moon yet again, complaining to Yunhyeong about what those two had dared to bring up as their excuses.
You didn’t keep count of the weeks and months that passed by because you were always looking forward to each and every day to meet Yunhyeong, to get to know him a bit more. Despite your initial dislike towards him, he turned out to a very gentle, attentive and incredibly funny young man, and soon your days became filled with his contagious laughter and self-made meals because the CEO loved nothing more than cooking.
This is how you actually ended up in his house one day after he had insisted that he would want to teach you how to cook one of his favourite meals. It was about half a year after your first encounter and also your first time to visit his house.
It was all going well as Yunhyeong was a very patient chef, and he didn’t make you feel completely useless even though he did most of the actual work. You weren’t a kitchen fairy, but you’ve tried your best, and worked as diligently as you would do at your own shop. It wasn’t until a careless turn on your part and his closeness that the atmosphere became somewhat awkward. You had just turned around to look at him and ask what else you could do, but he was already behind you, so you practically bumped into him and almost lost balance but he caught you in time. He grabbed you by the waist, and even when he could see for himself that you were stable, he didn’t let you go. You didn’t care though. You were more focused on his face. To be precise, on his eyes.
You didn’t even dare to look away, you didn’t feel like you knew how to do so. You were mesmerized, stuck in the moment, in the fantasy world that the situation created. You had never been this close to Yunhyeong ever before, and the close proximity did odd things to the state of your heart. You found it difficult to breathe properly, and your lips were parted because you were about to say something, yet nothing seemed right.
Then it happened. All of a sudden, only for a moment, your lips touched his, and you were even more mesmerized than before. However, your rational part made you back away and apologize immediately.
"I’m sorry. I really didn’t…" You started immediately but he cut you off.
"It’s okay, it’s really okay." He shook his head, then a lopsided grin started stretching on his lips. "I was just about to ask if it’s okay if I kiss you," he added with a nervous giggle and sheepishly scratched his temple.
You were so shocked than you didn’t even know what to say for the next few seconds. Your heart was racing so wildly that you were afraid that you would have a heart attack soon. Luckily, Yunhyeong saved you.
"Then, it’s my turn next," he declared as he hovered over you and waited for you to push him away, to reject him. Needless to say, you did neither, and so he kissed you while you could feel him smiling to himself. You did the same as him, your insides melting.
What an interesting turn of events when it all started with an innocent little cooking session.

can you please do a yunhyeong angst scenario where he cheats on you with someone from yg? :)
Hi there! Thank you for asking! I enjoyed writing this ask, and I hope you enjoy the scenario!
Band Member: Song Yunhyeong
Genre: Angst
Rating: M (For language)
Summary: You and Yunhyeong have been in a relationship for a year, and you find out he has cheated on you with one of his labelmates in YG
Word Count: 1853
Tumblr media
A year of regrets, happiness, fights and just pure love has passed, as you were seeing the one person that you loved most. The one person that actually took care of you when you were sick, and if you needed or wanted something he would get it for you. Yes, there were fights here and there, and you would end up doing something you eventually regret, but you knew that you didn’t regret anything in the relationship at all. You and Yunhyeong didn’t have anything in the way of you two being together. Your schedule might be different and every time Yunhyeong went on tour you had months apart, but you always managed to make time for each other.
So since tonight was the only night that you both would be able to get a good couple of hours together, you had decided that you would make it your anniversary date night. However, you told Yunhyeong you wanted to do all the planning since he had to worry about practice and just his everyday schedule was worse than yours. You wanted to return the favor for him taking all this time and make a date that he wouldn’t forget, and one that you could hopefully look back on for future years that you guys are together.
-
You finally had the arrangements together and Yunhyeong should be walking in the door any minute now. You quickly changed your clothes wanting to look nice for your boyfriend when he got home. Walking out of the room you heard the front door open and a small smile crept on your face. Walking down the hallway you see the familiar figure place a bag down on the couch and you wrap your arms around him pulling him into a back hug. He turned around hugging you momentarily before sitting you down on the couch, looking at you with concern.
“What is is Yun?” You asked curiously looking at him, noticing the look on his face that something was bothering him.
“Y/N…” He began hesitating for a moment, before wanting to continue. “We need to talk.” As soon as you heard those last few words, you felt a lump in your throat. “I just need to talk about it right now, before we get anywhere tonight.”
“Yun, why are you avoiding my gaze? Is something wrong?” You asked silently praying that he was just trying to prank you, and it end up not being bad at all, but you never knew Yunhyeong to be that type of guy, and if he was, he was never this serious about it.
“I-I’m sorry Y/N.” He began choking on his word as he remembered everything from the previous week, trying to find the words to use. It was never easy confessing anything to anyone, especially something that would hurt them. Finally gathering his thoughts together, he looked into your eyes momentarily. “I think we should break up.”
Your heart instantly sunk to your stomach hearing his words, but you tried your hardest to keep the tears falling from your eyes. “Please tell me you’re joking.” Your voice was soft and almost inaudible. You didn’t want any of this to be true, you didn’t even know what was wrong. As far as you knew, everything wasn’t perfect but there wasn’t many problems. “Why? Let’s work it out. We can fix whatever it is, just please tell me you are joking.”
“We can’t fix it, there is nothing to fix. I just can’t be in this relationship anymore.” Yunhyeong replied, avoiding your gaze once again. You could tell his eyes were getting watery. There was something he wasn’t telling you, but you never pried him too much on things he didn’t want to talk about. You knew to not invade his personal space despite you two being in a relationship, you both knew that space and trust was needed. However, right now that was not your concern, you just wanted to know why Yunhyeong was saying what he was.
“Yunhyeong.” You used his full name. “What did you do?” You asked, you wasn’t even sure that you wanted to hear the answer, if he was going to answer you that is.
“Nothing. I’m just done, I don’t want to be in this relationship anymore.” He stood up from the couch grabbing his bag. “Please don’t contact me anymore.” He got up and left the apartment without saying a word, leaving you on the couch to drown yourself in your own tears, wondering what was wrong.
-
It had been a week since you actually talked to Yunhyeong, or even the rest of the members of iKon. You tried your best not to think about it, finding your own way to cope with the break-up. Going to yoga classes, and spending your days out in the sun and sitting in saunas. You just needed anything and everything that was going to keep your mind off your now ex when you thought everything was perfect.
Well, you thought you had been doing fine until you received a text message from one of Yunhyeong’s band mates, Donghyuk, asking you to meet up at a coffee shop close to your apartment. You agreed, you never were really super close with the members of iKon, but you knew them well enough to have a decent conversation with them. Plus you knew that Donghyuk wouldn’t be talking to you just because and you wanted to hear him out.
Once you arrived at the coffee shop you quickly examined the interior looking for the familiar face, and once you did you went to sit in front of him. “I don’t mean to be rude, but can we make this quick?” You asked as you sat down, you could already feel yourself tearing apart, knowing that you wouldn’t be able to see the one you loved again.
“It’s okay, Y/N. I understand.” Donghyuk spoke quietly and softly. “I need to talk to you about something though.” He took a sip of coffee before sliding your cup to you that he had already ordered.
“Go ahead.” You nodded lightly placing your hands on the sides of the coffee cup warming them up. You had to mentally prepare yourself for anything that Donghyuk was going to tell you, and in fact you knew that he was possibly relaying a message from Yunhyeong, and at this moment in time you didn’t want to hear it, but you didn’t want to be completely rude to the male.
“It’s about Yunhyeong…” He paused for a minute trying to bring his words together. “There is something that /I/ think you should know.” He emphasized on the word I, and by this you knew that there was something that you were missing out on. You just simply nodded your head, not knowing what to say at this point.
After taking a sip of his coffee, he decided to continue. “There was a company party the week before your date.” Donghyuk finally began, and you instantly felt the lump in your throat once again, already not liking where the conversation was going. “We all got drunk, and I noticed Jisoo was all over Yunhyeong that night. I wanted to tell you right away, but I didn’t know how, Y/N.” He let out a soft breath before continuing. “And honestly, I didn’t think anything was going to happen between the two, Yunhyeong seemed so faithful to you, I couldn’t see him doing anything like that. I only know something happened between them because he came to me and told me, he asked me what he should do, and I didn’t know how to answer him, I’m sorry.”
By the time that Donghyuk got finished explaining everything to you, you had tears welling up in your eyes. You couldn’t take it anymore, even though you didn’t like showing your weakness in front of others. You took the coffee standing up, you didn’t have words, you didn’t know what to say. You knew that Donghyuk wouldn’t lie to you, but you was hoping to hear something better than that. Anything but that. “I-I’m sorry, I have to leave now.” You got up quickly turning around making yourself trip slightly spilling the coffee all over the ground, you stood there momentarily before running out of the coffee shop.
“Y/N! Wait!” Donghyuk tried to follow you out of the coffee shop, quickly apologizing to the workers.
You didn’t know where your feet was leading you but by the time you got to your destination you were standing in front of the iKon dorm, your eyes full of tears you knocked on the door, momentarily before opening it up, hearing the voice behind you telling you it was unlocked. You hadn’t realized that Donghyuk had followed you all the way here.
Rushing into the dorm you instantly found Yunhyeong in the kitchen washing the dishes. “Really?” You shouted making your way into the kitchen, causing all the members to stare in confusion as to what was going on between you two. “Really Song Yunhyeong? You just cheated on me, after being in a relationship for a year? And you weren’t even man enough to tell me.” You asked trying to keep as calm as you could have been in that situation, you didn’t want to cause too much of scene in the dorm.
Yunhyeong turned around looking at you momentarily before glancing at the male standing behind you, who whispered a small sorry before gathering the boys and trying to get them to go elsewhere. “Y/N..” Yunhyeong began trying to find the right words to say at that moment. “I wanted to tell you Y/N but I couldn’t, I couldn’t tell you and break your heart.”
“Oh? So you thought it was okay to just suddenly break up especially on the day we were supposed to have a date for our anniversary?”
“No. I didn’t think it was okay, but I thought it would be better for you to think I just fell out of love with you instead of cheating on you, I didn’t expect Donghyuk to go behind my back and tell you.”
“Well don’t be mad at Donghyuk for being a better friend than you. He’s more of a man than you are.” You said gritting your teeth. “I trusted you, Yun. I put all of my trust into this relationship, because I thought we were okay. Because I thought we were both happy.” You let out a small huff. “I guess I was wrong. Did you ever even love me?” You asked trying to keep the tears from falling from your eyes.
“Yes Y/N! I fucking loved you! It was a mistake, everyone makes mistakes.” He shouted staying in the kitchen.
“Everyone makes mistakes, but not everyone cheats on their girlfriend. Not everyone is a fucking douchebag.” You huffed lightly before turning to head towards the door getting ready to leave. “Oh, and go fuck yourself Yunhyeong, I hope that you and Jisoo have a nice life together.” You said walking out the door.

-Fluff, slight angst, soulmate au, soulmate!iKon
-Chapter 1: Chanwoo - The Boy with the Baseball Glove
-Chapter 2: Hanbin - The Boy in the Red Flannel
-Chapter 3: Yunhyeong - The Boy in the Chef Apron
-Chapter 4: Bobby - The Boy with the Golden Smile
Tumblr media
“Have you ever consider that you might be my soulmate, Y/n?”
You should’ve been flipping table, throwing a fit, destroying your little apartment at the nonchalantness of his question... At the existent of that very question. Yet here you lay, eyes still glue on the white noises spewing from your TV, not even batting an eye at those words. Not to say that it never did... Just, when you had heard that same question falling from the cherry soft lips of your handsome prince of a best friend thousands of times over, somehow, even as magical as Song Yunhyeong is, it had lost its power.
Face it, the topic of soulmate in this day and age, although no longer what it once was, still very much something that could strike the heart of the toughest guys and color rosy every girl’s cheeks.
“No, not really, never cross my mind.”
For any onlooker, that respond was formed almost absentmindedly, a bit too heartless even. However, taken in the dynamic of your relationship with Yunhyeong, it’s anything but. You’d without a shadow of a doubt, unashamedly admit that countless time before you’ve considered it, soulmate, just the simple uttering of the word already sending shiver down your spine... Of course you’ve considered it.
So then why the sarcastic answer?  That question itself nearly as loaded as the one he had asked, the kind of question that had been mulled over for so many moon it had began taking root, twisting and winding its grasp around your heart until it was unbearable to even look at him. Because it’s a question too hard to swallow, and so deep that the only respond you could utter without dredging up physical matters of the heart is sarcasm.
For one, you’ve lost count of just how many time Yunhyeong had brought up that very concern. Any sign, need not be one out of the ordinary, just any old sign of your mundane life could be the sign. Grabbing for the glass of water at the same time? Soulmate. Blurting out the same order at a new restaurant for your monthly food adventure? Soulmate. Even getting up to go to the damn restroom at the same time could be a sign for him.
“No shit, Song Yunhyeong, you only mention it like every other second.”
“I know, but have you really consider it though? You as my soulmate?” His sweet voice rings out once more, fighting against the bubbling and clanking of pots in your tiny kitchen.
“I mean...” You pause letting the thought once again steeps your brain in its fairytale liked nature, pausing a bit too long for just how pragmatic and casual you had remained at the sensitive subject. “How much considering can I do when the symptom aren’t there.” You say as your heart clenches with every word your lips utter, why can’t he see that you’ve considered it, dreamt it, wished upon the star it. None of that matter if the cosmic is against you and him, against your heart intertwining in a dance of that searing pain of heartbeat syncing then the beautiful breathtaking moments to follow. The universe is as conniving as it is heartless having your heart’s desire reminding you times and times again of what you can’t have.
You could almost see his heart drops and a frown beginning to form under that dulling smile of his as a soft defeated “you’re right” tumbles from those kissable lips. No matter how hard Yunhyeong tried to hide the disappointment threatening to vomit from the deep corners of his heart and soul with that brilliant smile of his, it’d always be obvious to you because well, you feel the same way.
There’s no denying the physical attractiveness your best friend possesses that quite honestly stole your breath on so many occasions, down right had you staring now and then in the most random moments of life.  Not to mention, the chemistry between the two of you could fools stranger into believing you were meant for each other, left people closest to you both wondering how it could even be possible for your hearts not to belong to one another.
It’s not as if you hated when he brings up this topic, quite opposite actually, you love it with every bits of your soul. The idea of having the boyfriend of all boyfriends being the person to have and to hold for the rest of your life, who in their right mind wouldn’t want that. You love Yunhyeong, no doubt about that, long fallen for the caring man and all of his quirkiness sometimes borderline cringy... Long before the fame and success.
You’ve even considered just saying yes, to end both yours and his suffering with one simple word, falling into each other arms and get lost in the moment but you love him too much for that, to rob him of his one true love. What’s more, you love yourself too much to bear the thought of maybe a year, a month, or even a day into this fantasy relationship, his soulmate could be strolling down the street to put an end to all this nonsense. That’s not a pain you want to nor did you think to be able to survive. Alas, this is not a world where two people frivolously fall in love and ride off into the sunset without a care for anyone else but themselves. This is a world where everybody is bound by their destiny no matter how much one detest the outcome. If only the soulmate drug works on ordinary matter of the heart also.
To have him in that moment, to lose yourself in him in that one second is enough for you to be happy for the rest of the days. You love the way he makes you feel as though you’re the most special person in the world, how his smile perks up the moment you step into the room even if he had been dying on the floor from being yelled at by Hanbin for not getting the choreograph right the 10th time that night. It’s comical, stupid even that you’re denying yourself happiness because of some stupid old tradition that meant to ensure the survival of the human race. Aren’t the Earth overpopulated anyways, can the divine stop playing with people’s hearts like sex toys. Life must have a great sense of humor because it had presented you the perfect human being yet all you will ever be allow to call him is best friend.
A quick wipe of his hands on the white apron so snugly tied around his waist, accentuating his fitted figure a bit too well, Yunhyeong returns his attention to the bubbling pot on the stove, delectable scent permeate through your tiny apartment that was much too peasant-liked to fit his prince image. It was your weekly dinner and as always, Yunhyeong has a recipe or two up his sleeves that he’d like to experiment on you before serving it up to the boys. Although by now, there’s an inkling within your heart that the truth is far from that. Since when has the iKon boys really care what their chef make, they weren’t picky enough of eaters for Yunhyeong to be going through such great length. If anything, they’d love it even more if he experiment more with food at home.
Sauntering into the boiling hot kitchen, you did your best to peek from the side of the tall man blocking nearly the whole width of your small stove, slaving away with two pots and a few mixing bowls all at once.
“Yunhyeong, you know we can just do take out, right? You don’t need to work so hard every week cooking for me.”
“Shh, you eat take out too much. Eat some real food for once, plus, I need to practice making these dishes anyways.”
You smile but deep within a sadness lurking about of a future where these weekly “date” will ceased to exist the moment his soulmate comes into play. Cease to exist too will be the flirty banter and carefree playfulness in your words to each other, you will no longer be the only girl he could confide in and snuggle close till you both fall asleep from talking till morning comes. Of course all you want is for him to be happy but you couldn’t help the small part of yourself that want to keep Yunhyeong, to be able to be selfish when it comes to him. You won’t be able to love him any longer and you’re not quite sure how to deal with that, not quite yet. You know Yunhyeong won’t abandon you but the thought of never being anything more than his best friend, it hurts.
Lost in a world without Yunhyeong, you carelessly pick up the boiling kettle steaming away and shouting by the stout oblivious to Yunhyeong screams of warning. The pain scorching your skin not nearly as intense as the pain still lingering in your heart from the hypothetical world and it wasn’t until far too late that you had let go, clanking of the kettle along with the splashing of scalding hot water sear deep into your arms. The pain slowly sinking in, body curling up to cope with the unbearable pain but the frightful scream stolen from your throat, in place of it, a muted gasping of air. Yunhyeong dives to catch you in his arms, your names tumbling from his lips like prayers, wishing it had been him at the receiving end of the caustic boiling liquid.
Mind blank and pain unbearable, seemingly all the functioning braincell you’ve managed to control poured into one thing, tears. Tears overflowing like a broken dam blurring away the panic on his face. Your hands clutching desperately, body pressing tightly against his as if Yunhyeong is your last lifeline in the middle of a category 5 storm.
The how and when seemingly escaped your mind as the next second your frantic mind had gotten a grasp on reality, you were already in a room with blinding lights, kind smiles of the nurse tending to your redden arms sooth just a bit of pain away. Yunhyeong not far behind, feet could barely stay still as he did his best to be out of the way of the nurse. Yet you know, the worry in his eyes, the way he’s balling up the seam of his shirt convey the weight upon his shoulders. No sooner than the nurse had given the poor boy the go head, he flies straight to your side, unsure if it should be a mountain worth of scolding for your carelessness or intense cries of hurt to be first to leave his mouth.
“Yunhyeong, I am literally fine. Cease your worrying!” you chuckle, doing your best to ease the tension off his trembling body but you know that was futile.
“Y/n, be for real right now. Do you know I almost had a heart attack?? How could you be laughing right now?”  He gripes, hands already grab your bandaged one with the most delicateness as if it was made out of snowflakes.
“I am serious. I am okay Yunhyeong.” You muttered, although uncertainties ravage your brain. The searing pain in your chest was as real as the first moment you had felt it as your world blurred just a few hours ago. Yet what else could you say but to assure your best friend that all was right in the world. You were convinced his head would explode if you even cough right this second.
“Really? you’re certain?” He questioned you, a strange tone danced between the worries. He finally settled down on the chair beside your bed with an odd expression painted across his face, uneasiness rose in your chest.
“Yea... I think I’d know if I wasn’t okay, dork.” you quipped and settled down too into your bed. Eyes strained on the bright light above, a twinge of nausea rushed through your body. “Hey, you think we can get out of here anytime soon? I don’t feel comfortable here.” You nudged Yunhyeong with a slight smile, tearing him away from whatever dream that was occupied his thought.
“Right, yea, let me check with the front desk.”
Yunhyeong scuttled off and for the first time in a long time, you were glad your best friend wasn’t by your side. A long sigh huffed from your lungs to mingled with the sterilized air of the bustling ER. What was this strange feeling heavy on your chest? In the short hours between a dinner anticipated ruined by your carelessness and now, something between you and Yunhyeong had changed. Something major yet so subtle, tangible yet whenever you reached your fingers forward it dissipated in an instant. What did you missed? Your thought cut short as Yunhyeong rushed back to your side, papers clutched in hand.
“We’re all good to go!”
Another blink and you were back in the passenger seat of Yunhyeong’s car, fast steading home. The silent that was once peaceful now stuffy, heavy. The lyrics vibrating through the dense air of the car, gibberish, nonsense as your eyes trained to the fast passing road. What compelled you to utter these next few words and break the uncomfortable silent, you did not know. However the can of worm your words opened up was one you were wholeheartedly unprepared for.
“Are we alright?” You muttered reluctantly.
Yunhyeong stayed silent. Lips pursed and you could see his knuckles ghosted white as his grip on the steering wheel tightened. You could almost hear the gears in his brain churning, carefully calculating whatever it is that was about to come out of his lips.
“You really have never considered us...” Those familiar words breathed from his lips yet it wasn’t a question, it wasn’t a joke, or even a statement. The connotation weighed heavy.
“Yunhyeong... You only bring it up every other hour, any sane person would considered.” You tried to lighten the boulders that was this conversation yet it only seemed to made the strange expression on his features soured further. “I think enough happened today, is it really the time to bring this up again?”
“Is it really that preposterous, the idea of us being more than this limbo we’ve both lied ourselves into?” Yunhyeong gritted his teeth and shattered your belief that he could never be anything other than sunshine and happiness.
“Limbo- Yunhyeong if you have something to say then just say it. I don’t think either of us benefit from this dance we’ve done thousand times before.” You exasperated, searing pain still dancing through your chest.
“Is it so impossible, me and you. You’ve never once gave me a straight answer. You keep me around as if I’m an option yet the moment i bring up anything remotely close to suggesting we could be more, you laughed it off as if i’m just a big joke.” The words he spoked, it registered yet it made no sense... a joke? how could he think you thought of him as a joke.
“Yunhyeong, how could you thin-” The words lost within the harsh gasp clawing its way out of your throat, harsh enough to earn concern from Yunhyeong. Fingers hastily pressing at the button to roll down the window, cold air hit your face as tears burned your cheeks. “You think it’s fun for me? To have ever other conversation we have circled the drain right into ‘ha ha what if we were more than just friends’...” Your words fighting, muffling against the wind rushing by. If you could, you’d jump right out the window and evaporate within the wind.
“Well, you’ve never given me any other indication-”
“Song Yunhyeong, have you so wrapped up in your own mind and heart that you failed to consider what it would mean for me to really considered us?” Exasperated, there was no stopping your pain from rushing out now. “For me to let myself fall into this perfect world of being yours, of being on top of the world and in love with my best friend, and then to watch as you get a better... a real soulmate? We all knew this bullshit cosmic chosen one is inevitable and one day... One day I will have to watch you walk out of my life. There goes all our dinner date, the late night phone calls, there go my heart and soul along with whatever time you chose to give me.” Tear, snot, what have you... It didn’t matter anymore. It was not time to be polite, that was long gone. You’ve tried to protect his feelings and yours for far too long now and it bit you in the ass. Perhaps now you both could move on and whether or not this friendship will survive the pain, who knows... Before you knew it, the car had slowed to a stop. Head hung low, Yunhyeong was silent and emotions indecipherable. One thing you were sure of, he was crying, shoulders gently shrugging against the stale air of perhaps the end of you and him.
“I’m sorry.” That was the first thing to break the sniffles coming endless from both you and him. For the first time since the car had halted to a stop that he had looked up at you, dejectedly. “I’m so sorry, Y/n... I know it was selfish of me...”
“It’s okay, Yunhyeong... There was never an easy way for this conversation to happen... No matter what, we’d be hurt.” At the worst moment of your life, your body gave out perhaps from stress, perhaps from the uncertainties of tomorrow. Hand grasping at your chest, a ragged breath barely escape your lips before his hand was on your back, caressing comfort into your chilled skin.
“I’m so sorry I lost my temper... I was just, frustrated. I don’t know how else to make you see the way I feel, symptoms or not... But especially after tonight, I just lost it.” That soft smile, the same one you’ve dream of once more bloomed on his lips. “You are literally hunching over in pain and you’re still denying it.” Confusion cold against all your features. It felt as if all the air had vacated your lungs, your brain, your blood. A sudden lightness taken over as you stared at the boy you’ve loved for so long incredulously.
“What...” That was all you could mustered up.
“Have you not questioned at all why you ended up in the ER? Gave me the worst fright of my life? I mean yea I nearly had a heart attack watching you grabbed the hot kettle bare hand but I know you’re strong. A little burn would have never taken you out like that! The moment I caught you in my arms, it was as if someone had used a stun gun on me. The pain was the worst i’ve felt but it was electrifying!” A cheerfulness levitated, pushing out the cold air that had staled over.
“Wait... You’re saying...” The weight of the world suddenly dissipated and it was as if you could fly. A loud cry left your lips, startling the boy who wasn’t sure if he should laugh or join in with your cry. However that smile, the real smile that he hadn’t seen in a bit blossoming on your lips, it was all he needed to know.
The next second he had draped himself across the middle console and pulled you right into his arms. Cries then laughters emanating from your intertwined bodies. His hand gently running through your hair, caressing away all the worries and all the dreads that had built up over the months, years of pining after him... And yours, gripping tightly on the man that will be yours. There were still much to say, much to hash out before you and him could be “us”. However in this moment, in this second where the realization that what you both had wanted but fear was out of reach was now possible, just silent was enough. You had him and he had you, that was enough. The conversation will be had but it was no longer one that was out of reach. It was one of a certain future, of being together.

iKON being jealous
Request: Could you do a reaction of the Ikon boys jealous? Like how would they react and act towards you. Pretty pleaaasee :) tysm 💕
Kim Jinhwan
Tumblr media
He would be really pouty and fight for your attention. Jealousy would be an emotion that he felt often with you and wouldn’t be able to help it, even when you reassured him that you love him and only him. He wouldn’t always confront you about it, but you would be able to sense it since he wears his heart on his sleeve. He’d just be quite protective of you and feel uneasy when you’re talking to other boys that he doesn’t know or you don’t pay him as much attention as you’re paying someone else. I don’t think he’d be able to deal with you having loads of male friends. He’d feel better if you’d become a bit clingy and tell him that you love him once you notice that he’s becoming jealous.
Song Yunhyeong
Tumblr media
He’d be pretty straight up when you did something to make him jealous. He’d just say it - not in front of the other person or people obviously - and be quite blunt about it, telling you that he didn’t like what you did and would appreciate it if you didn’t do it again. He wouldn’t get jealous as often as Jinhwan, but would always be aware of your surroundings and what people were doing around you. He would know exactly who was looking at you and in which manner. He’d just suck it up and hold your hand, letting everyone know that you’re taken.
Kim Jiwon
Tumblr media
Jiwon would not get jealous often. He would be confident about how you feel about him and how he feels about you so wouldn’t see the point. Occasionally he would get a tiny bit jealous if the two of you were out and people were looking at you with certain thoughts on their minds. He could just pull you close and softly kiss your cheek to take those eyes away (but mostly, I don’t think he’d mind people looking at you. He wouldn’t be surprised since he thinks that you’re the most beautiful being on earth). If you ever did something to make him jealous purposely, he’d get really mad at you and probably not talk to you, since jealousy is such a horrible emotion to feel. I can so imagine him watching someone hitting on you and being so cocky and proud when he sees you turn them down, not feeling jealous at all.
Kim Hanbin
Tumblr media
He’d get jealous soooo often and beat himself up about it. Like if you have male friends, or your close with one of his members. He wouldn’t be able to help it. He’d hate the feeling and hate to bring it up because he wouldn’t want you to feel bad over something you have no control over. He’d hide it well and just want to be alone for a while to order his thoughts. Sometimes he wouldn’t be able to help it and get really mad at you, acting like it’s all your fault that others hit on you. This would end in a big argument and you wouldn’t speak to him for a while until you were in the correct mind frame to accept his apology. He would feel like shit and need you to comfort him and reassure him that you only see him. (My poor jealous bby ily).
Kim Donghyuk
Tumblr media
I really can’t picture him being jealous. He would trust you 100% and literally laugh when someone tries to hit on you or get your attention. Even when you try to get him jealous, he’d laugh or just smirk at you saying “nice try, not going to happen”. Even if you compared him to someone else he’d just laugh and pat your head, knowing exactly what you were trying to do. I’m sorry, you can’t crack him. He doesn’t get jealous.
Koo Junhoe
Tumblr media
King of jealousy. If you’re speaking to someone, and he feels himself getting jealous he’ll just pull you away in an instant, not saying anything or looking at anyone in particular. He’d just get you out of the situation asap. You’d be surprised at first but then be used to it. You’d try to explain the situation but he wouldn’t hear it. He wouldn’t even be angry, he’d just not listen and tell you not to talk to that person or those people. He wouldn’t even let you go and apologise for his rude behaviour. It would be so annoying sometimes, he literally would just block out your words as you try and explain the situation. You’d end up ignoring him and he’d eventually apologise for his behaviour, but not apologise for being jealous. He would have some theory that everyone wants to have you and feel as if it’s his duty to prevent that from happening (by any means necessary).
Jung Chanwoo
Tumblr media
With Chanwoo, I think he’d be reluctant to tell you but would feel like you would want him too and you would because you don’t want him feeling jealous over stupid things. You’d explain the situation to him and he’d be like “oh...is that it?” and just laugh about it, thinking about how stupid and Hanbin-like (he would really think that or even say it) he’s being, swearing to himself to never do it again.
