I just want to make it clear that I will be in the trenches for Amy Rose and I am begging Paramount to give her an explosive personality.

She is not the mother of the group who scolds the boys, if anything she's the one who makes the plans with Tails to make sure they don't get caught. She has spars with Knuckles. She is the little gremilin who is just as sarcastic as Sonic and causes trouble on purpose just like him. I want Amy to have agency in the narrative and for her to have a story beyond any male character, something that belongs solely to her while she's feminine and lovable and has a crush on Sonic because why not, we have evolved enough to know that a female character can be strong and feminine.

And most importantly... I want Amy to be crazy. Totally insane. I want her to be traumatized and flawed and kind and complex and temperamental and multifaceted just like the boys are. I want to see a wild and deep teenage girl on screen and I won't tolerate any hate if she is because fandons in general don't know how to deal with them.

I wanna a real girl on the movies and I refuse to settle for anything less.

You know something Sonamy fans? I’m beginning to gain a liking towards the, “If Sonic and Amy became an official couple, they would date in private, but act like best friends in public,” head-canon. Because I think it’s most inline with how their dynamic works in general that’s been talked about. I dub it “platonic romance/friends with crushes on each other,” to keep things balanced.

Side note: I don’t think all of this stuff is happening by coincidence. It doesn’t prove nor confirm anything, but it’s funny these hints are in Black Night (a confirmed date), official artwork, and the recent IDW issue. Along with the other stuff which was also talked about a bunch.

These existing at all is an ongoing shock-fest for me. Due to the fact Amy and Sonic has known each other for a long time and most of their years together they barely ever hung out alone or in general before. (Not counting Black Night) But at the same time I’m not too surprised because the Amy Rose love is more common from the franchise and fans alike nowadays. There’s more and better material to work with.

My point is whether this is building up to something BIGGER or these are fun little details/hints we’re just putting together in a cute chart board, I want this franchise to KEEP IT GOING.

As a writer, I absolutely love the character dynamics in Sonic because they're super unexpected or take a new twist in tropes, but are still super sweet or funny or intriguing.

SonAmy week day 6: red thread of fate dancing

I couldn't think of anything for the last two prompts so I'm using bonus themes. This started as me just thinking of them dancing with their noses touching but then I thought "that won't really show they're dancing" (it would have been a similar format as days 3 and 5) so I sketched this pose and something funny came to me... and then I decided to make it Boom!SonAmy cuz it's that show's fault I even like the ship. I made some modifications to Sonic's design tho cuz the sport tape is so excessive that I think he saw BSD Dazai's effect on women and decided to become a Walmart version of him minus the suicide and I am a firm believer his bandana should have been red. Thank you for coming to my TED talk

not really spoilers for the movies plot wise but i wanted to ramble about reverse sonamy rq lol! Where for me, reverse sonamy is not about amy's whole personality being toned down at all! And it's not about amy liking sonic less or sonic liking amy more necessarily. It's more like, that amy is more emotionally mature in this regard and therefore more secure in her feelings, while sonic seems less so.

So now sonic is kinda a bit of a mess around her, fumbling his words, tripping up around her, and more outwardly "shy" which isn't necessarily something new for his character.

And amy is just a witness to sonic making a bit of a fool of himself and just smiles and nods lmao. Like sonic nearly gives himself an aneurysm trying to invite her to eat something, and afterwards amy's just like "I'd love to! How's tomorrow afternoon sound?" And the cycle repeats lol

Ig this isnt one to one reverse sonamy, or else amy would be the shy one and sonic the more overt one, i guess this is just my preferred dynamic lmao. I just think it sounds so cute 😭

Sometimes I think about how Sonic felt bad about how he thought he used to act around Amy when they were younger.

Sometimes I think about how Sonic wanted to talk to Amy about how he was feeling.

How just because he doesn't feel the same, it doesn't mean he hates her. He never hated her.

But then... he found out what she's been through. Why she was so quiet as of late.

That she kept all of her feelings from him. Her childhood. Her trauma. The possibility that she might've done something really bad to herself during the war since it was so stressful to her.

He might've believed that he was the reason she felt this way. He might've hurt her.

He didn't, but he doesn't know that.

He didn't even know what she'd been through... he felt even terrible.

She believed that her love to him don't matter and tried to move on, but the choice didn't make her feel happy.

...It didn't make him feel happy either.

Maybe they would hug and never let go. Maybe they would overlap each other's apologies for giving each other a rough time.

Maybe they would cry. Maybe they would admit that they love each other out loud.

Amy would admit that she still loves him, for the first time in forever.

Sonic would admit that he loves her too, as a friend.

Meanwhile in his heart, he wouldn't mind being something more. He wouldn't mind being in a relationship with her or anyone. (Shadow lol) He knows that it doesn't cost you your freedom, it only allows you to let someone catch up with you. She wanted to be free with him.

That kind of stuff doesn't bother him anymore, but for now, he just needed to be there for Amy. He needed to be her friend.

Sometimes I think about how Sonic and Amy's friendship would rekindle in a deep, emotional way.

Sometimes I think about how this moment could be the start of a slow burn kind of relationship between Sonic and Amy as time goes on and as they get older.

Sometimes, I think about this too much, and I cry like a baby LMAO-
