okay but hear me out: fanfic idea in a soulmark au where candace has her own name as her soulmark whereas everyone around her has a nickname and she thinks "i'll never fucking find them anyway" and then jeremy comes with his romantic thing saying all that stuff of "i call you candace because i happen to really like your name,, cause it's YOUR name" and she clicks like "oh..."

while on her honeymoon with jeremy, candace tries to bust phineas and ferb through facetime one afternoon from the comfort of lounging on a pool floatie. linda says "for god's sake, candace, you're in paradise with your new husband, could you give it a rest for a week" and jeremy passes by in the background on an inflatable flamingo and is like "no i wanna see where she goes with this"

When talking about why Candace and Jeremy are a wonderful couple, lots of people tend to say it's because Jeremy loves her crazy and doesn't get weirded out by it, but I think it's a little more nuanced than that, in a way that makes it a little sweeter to me.

The thing is--Candace does sometimes freak Jeremy out. And he has occasionally said things like 'you're really kind of freaking me out' and 'okay, you're kind of scaring me now'. But he has also said things like 'Ah, that's my girl' when she goes tearing off to bust her brothers in the middle of dates. These two factors tell me something very important about him--he neither likes her because of her crazy, nor in spite of her crazy. He likes her because she's Candace, which includes her craziness.

And I love that.

jeremy johnson is the perfect man because one of his date ideas was just taking candace to the car wash. so like a) he wants to hang out with her in any situation and when asked to do a chore thinks of how it would be more fun with her there and b) autism sensory stimulation tank

its so funny how weirdly gendered cartoon merch was back in the day. all the phineas and ferb merch was put in the Boy section, and candace and isabella were never put on anything, much less any other female characters. because that was deemed Unmarketable To Boys. it leads to some very funny decisions like this. they needed 8 male characters to balance this shirt out and they had already printed perry twice and pulled out the big guns, buford and baljeet, and STILL needed another. so jeremy is here, because they can't print a GIRL on a BOY'S tshirt. and yall know i love my boy jeremy to pieces but he's not really a Merch Character. so it's really funny.
