im the second of four children and im the most loser of them all. is this anyone else's experience or just me.
loser defined by: no friends or social life, no relationship experience, dropped out of undergrad 5 years in, living at home at 24, 0 platonic physical touch ever experience in entire life outside of family, etc.

Okay, guys
As the old saying goes, if you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself
So. I've been hearing much complains here that no one writes Timkon the ways its meant to be because no one reads the comics and only goes off the movies/shows—
I'm so guilty of this, don't come at me
I'm tired of the complains and as a certified people pleaser on a mellow day, I will write these fics for you
So, if anyone can, write me a complete list of every comic Tim and Conner is in together or any one you think would be helpful to me. And where I can read these comics if it's online. And I'll start studying and writing when I can. If you want a decent comic timkon fic, here's your chance

Checking in on mundane (Don't Call Me) Superboy adventures! Featuring a lil' twisty on the 2-person love triangle.
If I was tasked to find some way to nod to earlier superhero-child-celebrity-era Superboy, I'd modernize it like this. Bouncing off of Livewire as a villain to talk about how young people cope with internet virality and visibility. Roxy's dad Rex is like those influencer parents who put their kids in the spotlight without considering how it affects them. The way he manufactures fake conflict for Superboy to take on is reminiscent of modern internet personality stunts.
Also only people who date Conner get to call him Connie.

Okay but Joyce doesn't like Steve au that's juxtaposed by Hopper having accidentally adopted Steve but neither of them know the other's strong feelings towards Steve.
Joyce is eyeballing him all suspicious and the like. She doesn't trust him around the kids, is wary when Will talks about how he's actually pretty cool, and that Dustin is totally obsessed with him now. She greatful for his help with...whatever he did with the Upside Down stuff, but still. She knows his reputation. And her opinion doesn't change until post season 4 (despite a very frosty exchange she had with Claudia Henderson about maybe...being careful about letting Steve hang around Dustin pre S3) because suddenly Steve is like. Always at the house she shares with Hopper. She's ticked at first, because why is this random boy in her house? Hanging out and watching baseball with her daughter? And when she mentions why Steve is there all the time, at one of the seemingly rare times Steve isn't eating dinner with them (she thinks a date was mentioned, and she refrained from scoffing at how typical it was for Steve to have a date and probably not call back) El and Hop look at her like she's crazy.
Because Hopper is no longer afraid to admit his fondness for Steve. So much so that Joyce's distain for the kid throws him way off base. The whole time Joyce has been side eying Steve Hopper was sitting there smiling like Steve :) good kid :) he helped El with her hair after Kali. :') Talked about how to accept things you've done that make you feel guilty while working to make up for them and grow to be a better person :) always putting himself on the line to protect those kids :) wrote to El all the time while she was in California so she knew he was still her friend :) glad they have him. Glad El has him :)he called her Ellie last week that's cute :) unfortunate taste in men but apparently that's a family trait so I will deal with it :/ my son :')
So they're both going "why wouldn't he be?"
And Joyce barrels on like "well, he's always here and he and Jon are barely speaking-"
"Woah that not exactly...Steve's fault..."
"and he's closest to Dustin of the kids, not Will."
"not my fault I was dealing with possession when Dustin, Lucas, and Max had their special Steve adventure" (El pats his shoulder in sympathy)
"and now he's missing dinner for a date. just don't get no one else thinks it's weird!"
El frowns "it's their two-month anniversary."
"huh?"
"him and--his date. They have been dating for two months. It's special."
"El, you don't even know her name...I don't think it's that-"
"yes I do! He told me. But asked me not to tell. Right Will?"
Will nods. "They want to keep it quiet. Not ready for everyone to know? I don't know who it is but that's what Steve said when we asked. Robin definitely knows too."
"so why'd he tell El?"
"and me. He told us together."
El rolls her eyes "because he is my brother?"
Hopper's face scrunches in a smile, proud and warm.
"El, we aren't his family..."Joyce is trying, she is! But she isn't fully understanding exactly what's happening or everything in winter/spring 1985.
El looks mortally offended by this. "yes we are. Steve was my brother first."
And Joyce has to reckon with the fact that maybe she's misjudged Steve a little, if El and Hop are getting so defensive over him....

Steve truly is the best teacher when every Career's Day he manages to organise not just a world famous rockstar, editor in chief of the NYT and their best photographer, a NASA astronaut, a world famous basketball player, the power couple of the graphic novel world, a translator from the UN, the girl who coached Tony Hawk and the CEO of Domino's.
But also Erica Sinclair aka The President.

Is the Lantern Corp looking for Young Justice? YJ is wanted on literally every other planet they’ve visited but has it gotten to the point where the lantern corp is involved and actively trying to arrest them?
The justice league is having a meeting and a member of young justice is there for some reason and green lantern loses his shit “YOU! I know you! Do you know how long I’ve been looking for you?!”
It doesn’t matter what yj member it is Wonder Woman is swinging bc “that’s a child! control yourself or I will assist you in doing so” while Batman’s in the background growling “status report! what are you talking about? why don’t I know about this situation? there’s five of you why have I not been briefed on this?” and Hal’s failing to fend off Wonder Woman though he still manages to snap back “Child??! Well, that child and their friends are intergalactic criminals! They’re wanted in at least two hundred and sixty three sectors! For every kind of crime from genocide to fucking petty theft” but Wonder Woman is giving him a look that very clearly says ‘try me if you want to’
which leads to Hal having to go to oa to explain that “yeah no we can’t arrest them, do you want fucking wonder woman to come up here?? I’ll quit rn” and “no I literally can’t arrest them, these are my coworkers kids what do you want me to do?” which ultimately leads to the trinity having to go to oa in yjs place to negotiate lowering their punishment to having a green lantern escort when yj goes on intergalactic missions or leave earth for any reason instead of prison/death like the guardians wanted except having a green lantern assigned to yj doesn’t work the way it was intended and it doesn’t matter which green lantern is assigned to those menaces, it’s not gonna work because
When Hal’s assigned to them as long as they’re not hurting anyone intentionally Hal actively encourages yjs nonsense
YJ respects John for putting up with Hal so they try not to stress him out too much (which means they don’t tell John the plan beforehand if it’s something a Responsible Adult would disapprove of and 83% of the time it is so John’s blood pressure skyrockets whenever he finds out yjs assigned to him)
Jess tried to be the ‘cool authority figure’ when she noticed that yj still did fuckshit under johns supervision along with ignoring literally everything the jl tells them but that didn’t work so she’s started negotiating with them like ‘If you limit yourselves to three small explosions, I’ll give you this blaster I got on my last mission’
they flat out ignore Guy or piss him off enough that he leaves despite it being an assignment from both the league and the guardians
they rarely listen to Kyle bc he’s friends with Bart and you know he’s friends with Bart so he enables like 40% of the shit they do and they get away with the rest

"Mike can't tell El he loves her because he's scared she'll leave him and it's an anxiety based in his parents' relationship. People don't get that, that's the only reason they want him with somebody else" So close! That is actually Nancy Wheeler's season 4 storyline beat for beat.
In season 1, Nancy mentioned anxiety of becoming her parents' and their loveless marriage. In season 2, it was established that when she feelings anxious about a relationship she "retreats" to her comfort zone romantically which is, in this case, Steve. In season 3, she and Jonathan have issues that bring up their parents and are treated seriously by the show. This all sets her up for season 4: When, prompted by Jonathan's avoidant behavior in their most recent calls, she fears he's going to break up with her, so when Steve comes back into her life and shows romantic interest in her, she allows him to.
On the other hand,
Mike has never once in the show made any acknowledgement of his parents' relationship in any capacity and has never expressed resentment for it. In season 3, his behavior is not consistent with avoiding admitting he loves El to himself, in fact, he smiles when he attempts to tell her. In season 4, he exhibits odd behavior around both his past flame and current partner surrounding the same topics, prioritizes his past flame in a moment of simultaneous conflicts, then, after being unable to explain or resolve his relationship issues, seeks out his past flame himself to spend the rest of the season with.
Nice try, though.
It is an easy misconception, but because there is no such thing as objective storytelling, it is actually not factual that all Wheelers dread becoming their parents. Only Nancy. We have no reason to believe Mike holds any resentment towards their lifestyle. In fact, his behavior would indicate the opposite in many instances (and costuming choices). There is a difference between a parallel and a retelling. People noticed a consistent behavior between siblings and assumed the consistency was correlated between the behavior and their siblinghood rather than the behavior and their also paralleling situations.
But in season 3, Mike completely lacked any demonstration of fear to "admit to himself" that he loved her. And in all seasons, he has never once noted or displayed any effects on his romance from his parents.
Once again, they did do the plotline you think they did. But they did it already - with someone else. And they did it better.
If that been true about Mike, they would have set it up in previous seasons - as they clearly know how to do with this exact plotline, like they did with Nancy.
The real question is: why would they tell the same story twice?
(spoiler: they didn't)

reading yj98 and like it sucks reading kon as such a capital B "BOY" BLEGHHHHH. (not that being a boy is bad. shout out to boys. but yj98 has some.....icky moments and sometimes they shine through kon) i do think there's something interesting in here in how like - being the literal clone/test tube baby of superman and being a manufactured person whose experiences of life were downloaded but never lived firsthand. how does kon experience gender, you know? does he behave the way he does because of the biased information that was downloaded into his mind? algorithms are biased by the people who make them. could this be the same? how much does kon feel pressure to perform masculinity in a certain way because he's quite literally supposed to be the replacement for superman? boy, man - some loaded fucking words for someone who is has lived very few real years outside of his lab! and on top of that? he's superboy. superman is a symbol of hope yes but he's also loads of "traditional" white, cishet masculinity super imposed on one man (whether or not clark wants! that sort of perception is placed on him no matter what!) and in the absence of superman, how does superboy carry that? idk. i'm out of good words. but much to think about *cue idk if im a boy by blue foster*

I feel bad for Starlo. (pt. 7)
Staroba is... not my cup of tea.
Still can't get over the fact Ceroba showed so little empathy for Star. It becomes even worse when you remember she started lecturing him ALL while wanting to take Clover's soul herself and lied to his face just so she could later betray the kid. At least Star tried to fix things. She started digging deeper and deeper into her plan and in the end got forgiven really easily.
I keep thinking Ceroba sees Starlo as a childish little bro or smth and even mentions how the reason she chose Chujin was because he was "mature." Yeah he WAS more serious in terms of personality but everyone's different. Chujin wasn't morally perfect anyway
'Back when I was a naive kid, kinda like you' and 'hey, it's science. your brain is still developing' rub me the wrong way. Basically what I got from this is how she thinks only someone childish and emotionally underdeveloped would consider a relationship with Starlo
Ceroba seems to view Star as a "poor naive manchild" who needs babysitting. She feels so bad for him that she'd sometimes tag along with his antics but won't hide the annoyance most of the time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She'll also spare him from his feelings getting hurt, which is nice but it's not her honest opinion:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She seems to show little appreciation for what he tried to do for her even though they're supposedly best pals. She says how she's been burying her sorrows in the saloon but not how spending time there even slightly cheered her up.
Tumblr media
She envies Star's optimism but imo it sounded more like an adult envying a kid's naivety than one adult admiring the other.
Tumblr media
And APPARENTLY the time she spent with Clover in Steamworks cheered her up a little but not what Star's been doing for her for months.
Tumblr media
heck she didn't even notice he had been doing it for her. too stuck in her sorrows, probably
I think the reason for this is because the Steamworks reminded her of Chujin and Kanako and the life they used to have. Btw, she loved Chujin waaaay too much (and even though he's gone now she still doesn't think she'll ever be with anyone else except Chujin, she's proud of Chujin for a useless award, she still calls Chujin 'her love,' she keeps talking about Chujin's legacy and how Asgore and everyone else never believed in him), to the point she stubbornly supported him without question, only (maybe) seeing him more realistically at the end of pacifist. I just feel like Ceroba doesn't take Starlo seriously. It's not that she doesn't care about him at all, but… she definitely doesn't get him.
For these reasons, I'm not a fan of staroba.

I wanted to avoid posting about this cause I prefer not experiencing spoilers and experiencing it all for the first time when I watch it with mio fratello but I have so many thoughts up in my teeny lil brain I just gotta post em.
First: Hank's gonna be Cyborg Supes! That was pretty obvious seeing how random his death was in the finale but it's still cool. I like how he's got the Lexcorp symbol on his chest.
In the bottom left you can see a Kryptonian (Kara it looks like?) with three other individuals, one of whom seems to be bearded. They all have long trenchcoat jacket things. Also on the left is Intergang. I guess they just needed to fill the screen up, unless these guys just casually go back to fighting Clark in S3.
Gods I hope Conner is the one who makes Lex bald that would be so in-character and funny. But also we got a Conner of color! Thank you MAWS for making the cast diverse cause the longer I stare at an all-white cast the further they all look like Zac Efron to me. Although his origin may be different since both Clark and Lex are so mela-non I think a sunburn would actually just kill them. Maybe he'll be experimented on and given the powers (and then at that point you could do animal testing and give us Krypto? Please??). Maybe he just has a different skin tone and it's not that deep. Idk but I can't wait to find out.
Punk Conner I've missed you. The only people who think the leather jacket look is dated and should have died in the 90s are also folks unaware of the punk scene today. Punk menace Conner you will always be famous to me.
