Is the Lantern Corp looking for Young Justice? YJ is wanted on literally every other planet they’ve visited but has it gotten to the point where the lantern corp is involved and actively trying to arrest them?

The justice league is having a meeting and a member of young justice is there for some reason and green lantern loses his shit “YOU! I know you! Do you know how long I’ve been looking for you?!”

It doesn’t matter what yj member it is Wonder Woman is swinging bc “that’s a child! control yourself or I will assist you in doing so” while Batman’s in the background growling “status report! what are you talking about? why don’t I know about this situation? there’s five of you why have I not been briefed on this?” and Hal’s failing to fend off Wonder Woman though he still manages to snap back “Child??! Well, that child and their friends are intergalactic criminals! They’re wanted in at least two hundred and sixty three sectors! For every kind of crime from genocide to fucking petty theft” but Wonder Woman is giving him a look that very clearly says ‘try me if you want to’

which leads to Hal having to go to oa to explain that “yeah no we can’t arrest them, do you want fucking wonder woman to come up here?? I’ll quit rn” and “no I literally can’t arrest them, these are my coworkers kids what do you want me to do?” which ultimately leads to the trinity having to go to oa in yjs place to negotiate lowering their punishment to having a green lantern escort when yj goes on intergalactic missions or leave earth for any reason instead of prison/death like the guardians wanted except having a green lantern assigned to yj doesn’t work the way it was intended and it doesn’t matter which green lantern is assigned to those menaces, it’s not gonna work because

When Hal’s assigned to them as long as they’re not hurting anyone intentionally Hal actively encourages yjs nonsense

YJ respects John for putting up with Hal so they try not to stress him out too much (which means they don’t tell John the plan beforehand if it’s something a Responsible Adult would disapprove of and 83% of the time it is so John’s blood pressure skyrockets whenever he finds out yjs assigned to him)

Jess tried to be the ‘cool authority figure’ when she noticed that yj still did fuckshit under johns supervision along with ignoring literally everything the jl tells them but that didn’t work so she’s started negotiating with them like ‘If you limit yourselves to three small explosions, I’ll give you this blaster I got on my last mission’

they flat out ignore Guy or piss him off enough that he leaves despite it being an assignment from both the league and the guardians

they rarely listen to Kyle bc he’s friends with Bart and you know he’s friends with Bart so he enables like 40% of the shit they do and they get away with the rest

SONG OF THE WEEK: “The Brakeman’s Dead”  http://johnnyjblairsingeratlarge.bandcamp.com/track/the-brakemans-dead-early-mix  —It was during a live show with The Rover Boys that these chords and lyrics suddenly burst out of my head, each verse beginning with the line “Maybe about this time next year…” I sang whatever flew into my head, with vocabulary from Biblical apocalpyse themes + current events + runaway trains as the Rovers kept up. I did this freeform tune a few more times and it hit with people. So I took it to Tom Mallon’s recording studio in San Francisco (with the late Aaron Gregory at the board), cutting it live without a lyric sheet. I thrashed an acoustic guitar through a stack of Marshalls (ala The Alarm) with Bennett Green and John Stuart on drums (separate sessions), and Adam Savetsky on bass. Later I asked Michael Miller and Chris von Sneidern to add guitar touches in one take John Cage-style without letting them hear what the other guy was doing. Last I sweetened it with percussion (bottles & junk) and violin. On a cosmic jukebox it would play next to Neil Young & Crazy Horse at their most raucous. EVERY OTHER FRIDAY I’M REVIEWING THE COMPLETE WORKS OF ALFRED HITCHCOCK IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER

This one is nearly unwatchable despite some cool visual work with light/shadows and fun miniatures. We’re dropped into an incomprehensible story and it’s unclear what, or whether any of this is supposed to be funny. Apparently, Hitchcock himself called the film a "disaster." I couldn’t even get through the full 64 (!) minute run-time. Sorry.

Due to his unrelenting determination to keep his town safe, Danny is bestowed a green lantern ring. Which on one hand: Yay! He gets to explore space full time. But on the other hand: Ew! he's a space cop now.

He had to rectify this immediately or he would never hear the end of it from his ghost friends. Or his regular friends for that matter. Sayyy, it'd be a shame if he.... bent a few rules. Maybe even broke some of them every now and again. And it would surely be a tragedy if say.... random pranks started happening around Oa?

For the first part of the film, a bunch of people stumble around a derelict house, and for the rest of it most of them get on a speeding train and scramble around in pursuit of a presumably valuable necklace. There's a woman who's supposed to be a deaf-mute but turns out not to be and a corpse that's supposed to be dead but isn't, along with a giddy ingenue who falls through the ceiling and a cockney derelict who is supposed to supply comic relief from the gun-waving and running about. He doesn't, but the actor who played him, Leon M. Lion, not only got top billing but also a credit as producer. In short, Number Seventeen is a total mess. That it's atmospherically staged and photographed and the runaway train sequence is exciting in a mindless way are the positive elements we can ascribe to Alfred Hitchcock, who really didn't want to do this film version of a popular play, but agreed to anyway, then tried to turn a play he thought filled with clichés into a comedy thriller. He later called it "a disaster," and he was right.
