The fact that cc!Dnf is already a thing that is popular to say the last basically guaranteed him a high spot in the amount of popularity each character has. But if you main a female character it's basically just choosing whether you want to see your favorite character flanderized or used as a shallow misogynistic stereotype or parentified in a fic about c!Dream.... or the exact same thing with c!Tommy.

It is incredibly depressing that when looking at other mcyt fandoms on Ao3 there is at least one or more female characters in the top ten. But when looking at the DSMP fandom tag? Nope.

Even worse when there are characters who have other been on the DSMP than at least one female character, or has had less lore and plot significance than any of the female characters.

C!Tommy headcanons because why not:

-He carries two small satchels around his belt, one for special feed for any animal he comes across, and the other for if something catches his eye: rocks, shells, even small pieces of glass if he thinks it’s shiny enough.

-He has multiple scrapbooks where he keeps pressed flowers inside, plus a description of what kind they are and the meaning of them.

-He used to enjoy playing instruments, but permanent nerve damage to his hands makes it hard for him to play anymore. On a good day, he can still play the piano, but he usually sticks to drumming his fingers against hard surfaces and humming to himself.

-Surprisingly, he is still able to sew pretty well, and is known for stress sewing. Most of the Beloved’s wardrobe is made by him.

-Sometimes he walks up to people, says ‘this is for you,’ places a small animal or trinket in their hand and walks away without another word.

-Ranboo and Tubbo gifted him a ring with their their family emblem engraved in it that he only takes off when gardening. He has one from Phil and Techno that he still keeps on a necklace hidden under his shirt.

-Whenever he starts getting angry, either Ranboo or Techno will pick him up by his sweater collar and he will immediately curl into himself and calm down. He also purrs when he’s happy, but he denies this.

-He’s always fiddling with something in his hands, both because it soothes him and stops him from hitting or scratching himself during a panic attack. He used to chew on his sweater or nails, but Tubbo made him a toy he could chew on without hurting his teeth.

-He never told his friends the extent of his dissociative episodes, and how the length of them have become worrisome or that sometimes he comes back to in dangerous places. He doesn’t dwell much on why his body subconsciously brings him to where he could accidentally slip and fall.

-He kept Wilbur’s old lighter, both to remember him and as a way to strengthen his ‘pain tolerance’. Tubbo confiscated it as soon as he found out.

-He finds himself unable to distinguish reality from his own mind more and more often. Limbo completely destroyed his perspectives, and he can be talking to someone one moment then be staring at his wall the next, and is unable to figure out what was real or not.

-Ranboo is the only one he goes to when he feels the urge and/or has already relapsed because he knows Ranboo will just silently support him and not ask questions. Except for the time Ranboo accidentally brushed over one of his brandings and he instinctively lashed out at him. Ranboo was actually the one to give him the idea of drawing pictures on himself instead of harming himself.

-He leaves bouquets of flowers on the doorsteps of everyone on the server. Most of them get annoyed, but never bothered to learn the meaning behind each one. Dream gets some too, but the meaning is always to ‘Go Fuck Yourself’.

-He is the master of the puppy eyes.

I was rewatching Doomsday and it's actually really sad when cDream pointed out that he was the only person on the server who never betrayed cTechno (to which Techno very enthusiastically agreed). Like even cPhil, his oldest, closest friend, took cWilbur at his word that Techno was the traitor when he first joined the server and accused him in front of everyone, and helped the Lmanbergians take down his withers (Dream had been the one to correct everyone that it was Wilbur who betrayed them, not Techno!)

Their relationship is just so fascinating. They're rivals, and they get on each other's nerves (well, Techno gets on Dream's nerves anyway 🤣), but they don't ever wish genuine harm on each other. They claim they only work together because they owe the other favours but they very obviously care for each other. I wish we got to see more crivals interactions.

as a c!phil fan, i do feel like i have to point out that it was absolutely reasonable for phil to take wilbur at his word. he had no real grasp on the situation. all he saw was... horror, honestly. he was thrown into a really traumatic situation and wanted to help the people he thought were important to wilbur.

but yeah. pretty much everyone was against techno in that moment even if phil very quickly realized that he wasn't the traitor.

back to what you said, though, that's exactly what makes them so interesting. they have this level of... separation between each other? they kind of both keep each other at a distance despite the clear respect and care they have and i genuinely think it's because they haven't betrayed each other and both of them are scared of getting too close and somehow losing that. or rather, for techno it's 'if i say you're not my friend, if you do betray me, it won't hurt as much as all the other times' and for dream it's 'if i say you're not my friend, then if something happens, they can't use us against each other'.

even with that, it's still very clear that they care about each other! techno loves riling dream up and dream never actually gets mad about it, he's always laughing even when yelling at techno. and dream absolutely gets techno going sometimes, usually by taking off his pants, to the point techno loses it and just goes !!! get out of here!! it's funny to me, they're funny.

and they care about each other, it's just complicated. not the feeling of caring, you know? but the situation that surrounds them. i think they both knew that, too, and for me that's what makes canon rivals duo kind of sad. they could've been so much closer. they were both willing to die for each other, suffer for each other, but everything around them is so divided and complicated that they have to keep some distance between them, for each other's sake.

Or are these two separate versions of a similar idea?

hmm I think it's a two parted au like playdate au is still a thing then like later (like maybe that's their incident actually or something) they somehow end up in the dsmp. I imagine the kids would figure out that it was their made up world just based off of names and locations alone. They would be so excited to see their imagination come to life. The dsmp members I think would kinda be surprised that kids' imaginations made all this up and find the real world situations funny. Like - c!Techno: "So you're telling me L'manberg is the pool in the backyard?" p!Wilbur: "Yup! We had some battles to claim the area. One time, me and Dream teamed up with an arsenal of water balloons we called TNT to blow up everything in the Pogtopia vs. Manberg War after Schlatt took over the pool by peeing in it. The last war we had was Techno and Phil attacking us with silly spray that we call withers and Dream with three packs of water balloons. It's been too cold to swim after that so we named it L'manhole now since it's basically just a hole in the ground filled with water, but sometimes we like to dip our feet in the water."...

To hear that you were moving here had made everyone exited to meet you

They all just didn't expect you to be as mischievous as you were

Dream and Punz mostly stayed away from you, knowing that your other vampire form could probably kill them in an instant. But you liked to tease Punz from time to time, just to see the blood rise to his cheeks;

You visited Kinoko Kingdom a lot, mostly because the red mushrooms were a great way for you to stay fed, but you also enjoyed the George, Sapnap and Karl's company and vice versa;

Bad and you seemed to have completely hit it off, a demon/vampire friendship that no one expected. But since you are basically a second Skeppy, who's your best friend and the person you cause mischief with the most, it's no wonder you get along so well;

You, Wilbur and Quackity had a weird...dynamic. Alone, you got along with both of them, but the second you three are all togheter all hell breaks lose;

Phil and Techno were pretty friendly. You and Philza had bumped into eachother while on a flight many times, and you liked to tease Techno by sucking the red off of his cape;

Niki is basically the Princess Bubblegum to your Marcelline. You tease her, and she finds it annoying, but in the end you two are still very fond of eachother;

Eret was someone you were always scared of talking to. He reminded you so much of a person you had met when you were younger, so you could never find yourself to talk to him;

Another duo you teased is Foolish and Sam, especially Sam. Foolish was always too adorable to torture, so you would sometimes visit Sam in the prison and keep him company by causing a bit of chaos.

It wasn’t anything too abnormal. Wilbur had returned to Ohio, Tommy, and Tubbo seemingly fell off the face of the world, and Technoblade was off doing something in the Nether, leaving Y/n with Phil.

Techno was going to be gone a couple of days, he said. Well, it was pushing a week at this point and Y/n was aware of his disappearance. Techno sometimes lost track of time, it’s just who he is.

Phil didn’t question it; not until Wilbur, Tommy, and Tubbo showed up at his house. Apparently, Techno was supposed to meet up with them two days ago, and there is no way he would miss it.

“He’s just mining in the Nether,” Phil tried to tell them. “Probably ran into a problem or found something else to do.”

“But he would come home first,” Tommy pressed. “He loves Y/n. He wouldn’t just leave them without an explanation.”

“You say that like he’s abandoned them,” Phil scolded. The group looked at each other for a few seconds until they were interrupted by screams. Y/n’s screams.

The four bolted up the stairs and are immediately met with Y/n, their brother’s child, screaming, crying, and thrashing around. Y/n’s hands clawed at their ears trying to block out any noise. They cried out for someone, Phil specifically knowing that he might have a potion for whatever this was, “Phil, make it stop!”

“I need to know what’s going on to help, Y/n/n,” Phil comforted, sitting beside their bed as he tried to pry their hands off their head.

“No, Phil!” They screamed, “They’re too loud! It hurts, Phil!”

“They’re too loud?” Tommy questioned to himself before turning his attention to the child, “Who’s too loud, Little (first initial)?” Tommy asked, uncharacteristically quiet as he sat next to them on their bed.

“The voices,” they cried, finally opening their eyes to look at Tommy. Their normal (eye color) eyes were replaced with blood red. “They want blood, Uncle Tommy.”

It was then, they knew what happened.

When one Blood God dies, another must rise.

And unfortunately, Y/n was the chosen one.

i don't think i've ever said like. how i actually interpret c!sbi. or at least how it like “happened”. just bc while i know im the crimeboys guy i am also an sbi guy, most of my multi-chapter fics include them, a lot of my oneshots do too.

basically i think phil and technoblade are friends and have been for years, since before wilbur came to existence. they fought together, did a bit of antarctic empire antics together, and afterward they kind of chilled out. techno went back to skyblock and farmed and killed people, phil went back to his single-player world and had a kid (phil is one of the few who is allowed to have visitors on his single-player world bc kristin blessed it, which annoyed tf out of the other sky gods but Whatever), normal stuff. but phil’s kind of a flighty guy, so it wasn’t long before he started leaving more and more, going on adventures with techno again, traveling with or without wilbur. so wilbur was left home fairly often, and was pretty lonely just because, well, single-player world, but phil sent letters, and wilbur started adventuring on his own, and eventually even learned to travel to other servers, met people like schlatt, niki, etc etc.

but yeah, so at some point while wilbur is wandering servers, he meets this annoying kid at the markets who is trying, badly, to steal from vendors, and wilbur tries to be nice and help out this kid who IMMEDIATELY tries to rob him, the vendors, and they both somehow end up with the cops after them. and from then on, it was wilbur and tommy. they’re probably around 8 and 17 ? anyway, wilbur is probably away from home for a while, having adventures with tommy, the same way phil is off having adventures with techno, though they still manage to send letters and such (the crows are at their disposal after all lmao).

at some point, probably like two years later? wilbur and tommy decide to go to the single-player world, wilbur so he can show off his home and also introduce tommy and phil, and BOOM. tubbo is just. fucking there. bc sometime during those two years, phil found tubbo in a box and decided to take him in. it hasn’t been Too long since phil found him when wilbur comes back, but definitely too long to not have told wilbur. he just didn’t really think about it.

and obviously tommy and tubbo hit it off immediately, wilbur is probably a bit wary at first bc he has, y’know, daddy issues, but he ends up very fond of tubbo. they all stay there for a little while, technoblade coming in and out bc he’s besties with phil, fairly fond of wilbur, and finds himself thinking tommy and tubbo are ALRIGHT he GUESSES (he is fond of them too). techno probably teaches tommy and tubbo to fight, probably takes tommy to hypixel and watches his eyes turn to STARS.

but yeah, they all probably go in and out of each others lives, but wilbur, tommy, and tubbo are usually together while phil and techno are usually together. the only blood family are phil and wilbur, and tubbo is like. he’s not officially adopted, he never Really feels like phil’s son or wilbur’s brother, but they gave him a place and tommy gave him a home. also tommy is like. wilbur’s brother but he’s not phil’s son or anything. just gut feelings and shit. and techno is not really Family, just very fucking important to everyone, mostly phil, and comes off like a weird, distant, beloved uncle.

Random thoughts here but I was going through some cTommy fanarts and I thought that it is so funny how some of his main colours (white and red) are the same as Techno's.

But then I thought, actually you what? That's not true at all. Sure that is the start of Tommy but it's all of it. You can put some blue in there (as the jacket made of Friend's wool), some purple (from the allium of Ranbbo) or some green (from Tubbo's scarf or maybe Techno's helmet). And then you think about it and he has a lot of small brown stuff, like his pants (usually brown), Wilbur's jacket, the compass and any extra thing they put USUALLY is in that colour. Sometimes the pants are blue, sometimes they put some white with bandages. And of course, don't forget that he is blonde. But I found this so curious because he is like a mix of things.

And somehow he still maintains his classic white and red even when Techno has the same colours AND in more quantity. Like come on, that coat is the biggest shit even. Yet the red is Tommy's colour.

And also, every color is Tommy's colour at some point. Because he does not only wear his colours, but the colours of people he cares about too. You can put purple, blue, green, yellow or blown, it would still be c!Tommy. While blue for C!Techno or C!Phil does not work (that for the Antarctic Empire), c!Tubbo can't really wear yellow (since it's not a bee here), Ranboo doesn't wear purple if not enderwaking and Wilbur can't wear blue because then it would be more like Ghostbur.

And that's the thing with Ranboo and Wilbur, they use colour for stages. They are blocked in some colour based on when or how. When is this happening? If it's Alivebur's time then we usually put brown with blue (from the uniform) or yellow, meanwhile Ghostbur is most blue with yellow (the sweater) while Revivedbur is brown and red. This obviously is based on some of the fanart, not all is the same and Wilbur's character has a lot more stages. But for the simplicity this is the base line.

Ranboo has two common stages: normal and enderwaking. Where enderwaking is different by the use of purple :D. That's why we can use that in normal Ranboo. Again, this is over simplified because of course we can bUT

The point is that in most characters it is easier to not to, meanwhile Tommy is supposed to. He could wear purple, green, brown, blue and his basic red and white AND STILL BE NORMAL C!TOMMY. Nothing weird.

And that. Blows. My. Mind.

Tommy is in base a blonde blue-eyes kid with red and white t-shit, and everything else we put is lore. Lore that makes sense and somehow it's a rainbow of colours where the original character doesnt get lost in but just evolved. C!Tommy is the pick of human connections.

He is L'manburg, a place where everyone got together to fight for, but in a person. A person that connects people.

And that makes the final of the discs even better.

He got so many people together that they came to fight for him at the end. <3

Everyone could put anything on Tommy that belonged to someone close to him and it would be like of course! He is Tommy, of course he would have Techno's cout and Wilbur's jacket and Tubbo's compass and Ghostbur's blue and Ranboo's allium and Drista's mask and have Niki's cookie or Quackity's coin. Damn we can even stop making new animals for Tommy when we already have a raccoon. And he may not be the only one, but he sure is the epiphany of this concept.

And isn't it funny how Tommy can be seen as a materialistic person for caring so much? Like, that's the main bad trait that we put superficially because of the discs. Yet caring.

Written for @dsmp-eras. March 9-12 marking L'Manburg for the event, and I chose to write about c!Tommy and c!Dream's duel but in the perspective of c!Wilbur

Watching as Tommy loses his second life because of his actions, Wilbur can't help but wonder if he's destined to ruin everything he cares for.

If there’s one thing Wilbur regrets never teaching Tommy, it was how to aim.

The younger boy was a good soldier, determined and fierce. Sometimes, as Wilbur watched Tommy train the other soldiers, he wondered if Techno would like him. If he would admire Tommy’s fire and skills, impressive for being self taught. Techno has always admired loyalty, and Tommy’s has always been unmatched. 

But Tommy was young and impulsive. Reckless, Techno would scold if he was here. Techno always believed emotions were a weakness, they cloud judgment and can be the reason you die in battle. But Wilbur, still naive and cocky, always argued otherwise. He wanted to believe in the good of others, that conflict can be resolved not through violence, but through compassion—words .

And look where it got L’Manburg: betrayed, weakened, a failed ideal. Wilbur was an idiot to ever think he could be different from his family, that he could change the order of how life operated. He failed everyone, and everyone knows this now, except for Tommy.

Sweet, brave, idiotic Tommy. Tommy who challenged Dream to a duel, all because he can’t admit defeat, all because he wants to make Wilbur proud.

Now, Wilbur watches as red and green walk away from each other with every count that comes out of his mouth. He hopes Tommy wins, for L’Manburg—one last “fuck you” to Dream—but also because if he dies, Wilbur won’t be able to live past the guilt. All two lives taken because of Wilbur, because he can’t be a good leader. He created L’Manburg to protect everyone, and it backfired tremendously.

But Wilbur knows Tommy, knows his strengths and weaknesses. He knows Tommy has never learned how to use a bow, at least not properly. In terms of combat, archery has always been Tommy’s weakest technique. It doesn’t help that Dream has been known for cheating, and Wilbur wasn’t sure who to watch. Dream or Tommy, his eyes kept flickering between the two; the former for any suspicious movement, the latter in fear of the worst happening. Dream was taunting Tommy, and Wilbur felt his anxiety spike as Tommy’s temper rose. He was becoming too emotional, not attentive— he’s not going to be ready.

Wilbur sees the moment Tommy realizes his arrow is going to miss its target. Dream shot his early, but not that it mattered because Tommy has always been quick on his feet and was already in the process of jumping in the water, the arrow ripping a piece of blue fabric. But that didn’t matter, because Tommy missed his shot, and just put himself at a disadvantage. 

Tommy lost, Wilbur knows this the moment his body hits the water. He blinks, and Dream is drawing his bow again, another blink, and the water is transforming into red. Wilbur screams, Dream’s laughter muffled as he doesn’t hesitate to jump in the water. He reaches blindly until he snags onto heavy material, and struggles to kick as Tommy continues to bleed out into the water that once provided the younger boy comfort, onto the same bridge he and Tubbo were once playing on earlier that day.

It’s tainted now, is Wilbur’s only thought as he’s powerless to save Tommy. He’s numb as Tommy’s chest stops moving, blood marring his own clothing and hands. Someone has to drag him away, even after Tommy’s body has already respawned.

This is Wilbur’s fault. If only he was better; a better leader, a better fighter, a better strategist. He’s tainted, everything he touches is bound to come to ruins, and he was an idiot to think L’Manburg would be different.

Thoughts on what the c!sbi family tree is/who's related to who?

OKAY !!! *rubs my little hands together like a bug* So there is so many different ways you can go with this. Multiple of my alters have different cannons and relationships between SBI so honestly I don't have a singular cannon I subscribe too either when it comes to how I like to interpret them. Sometimes I like Techno, Wilbur, & Tommy all to be brothers. Sometimes I like Wilbur to be an only son, and QPR Philza & Techno, with Tommy being adopted by Wilbur. Sometimes I like Single Child Wilbur of Philza with a secret brother that ends up being Tommy. Sometimes I like Philza being THE Dad and adopting Wilbur, Techno, Tommy, and Tubbo. Sometimes I like Wilbur and Techno to be brothers but in the Warrior Sense, and not actually adopted or related to eachother in any way. It really heavily depends on what I'm in the Mood for. SO, I THINK THE REAL QUESTION BECOMES IS: What do I think is the closest to actual Cannon. And i think the closest to actual Cannon is this: Philza has one son, that's Wilbur. He is most likely adopted but there's genuine ambiguity in that with the entire cannon ending to Wilbur's Story. But either way, Philza canonically views Wilbur as his son and Wilbur views Philza as his Dad. Fundy is Wilbur's Son (adopted), and Philza is his Granddad. Though iirc, Fundy also at some point gets rejected by Phil due to the New Lmanburg Politics and how he and Techno are treated. Fundy then attempts to be adopted by Eret, adoption falls through and Fundy basically is left family-less, except for Wilbur/Ghostbur. Tommy is Wilbur's adopted brother, with Phil rejecting him entirely. Though Tommy definitely views him as some sort of father figure, and wishes for his approval and acceptance. Technoblade is very good and old friends with Phil. Technoblade has a Brotherly relationship with Tommy, but isn't directly adopted by him like Wilbur is to Tommy. It's just how their dynamic plays out. Tommy and Tubbo are best friends. Tubbo having no real relation to the SBI "family" dynamic in cannon.

For the DSMP Blade System AU, c!Dream does get his Syndicate Arc! However, as much as I love Rivalsduo, c!Techno is not going to Awaken Dream for Reasons. Instead, also for Reasons, Techno asks c!Niki if she wants to be Dream's new Driver. Niki agrees, partially because she has her own Reasons, and partially because she trusts Techno, even if she's iffy about Dream (since the last two times she saw him were Doomsday and Staged Finale).

So Niki gets a bit of a crash-course in Blade things and then Awakens Dream. Who doesn't look familiar. Like, at all. Like, Techno warned her about default appearances and all, and that Dream's was probably different than he most recent appearances (based on what Techno remembers Dream wearing during the Duel), but this is really, really different.

Traditional introductions for a newly Awakened Blade and Driver includes names, pronouns, elemental, typing, and Soul Weapon.

Healer is a huge shock. Light Blade not so much, as that is idealized justice and, in the past, Dream has been focused on proper procedure. Exile started with a trial--which Dream heavily influenced the results of, but still a trial--and part of Dream's stated issues with New L'Manberg (part of Niki's issues too) was that they never had them for their enemies. Techno was told he would get a trial, and was dragged to his execution. The Green Festival was also an execution, right from the start.

Soul Weapon has Dream nervously checking if Techno is listening before quietly admitting fishing rod. Niki's getting a better read on the emotional bleed from the Resonance now, and it's just layers of uncertainty. She tries to reassure Dream that it's okay, there is nothing wrong with his Soul Weapon being more a tool than a weapon, and neither she nor Techno will look down on him for it.

Techno will absolutely tease him though. Once Dream has been Awake for a couple weeks and has enough time to settle.

Honestly, the Syndicate Arc goes fine for Dream. He's not being hurt. He can relax without people going after him just for being Dream, "Tyrant" of the DSMP. Dream reacts in kind; the mask that he puts on for them is much truer to his original self than any other way he's acted before. Niki teaches Dream to bake, and Dream helps Niki get better at combat.

And it hurts. He'd like to call these people friends. But they think he doesn't have any of his memories, so he's lying to them all the time. And he feels guilty for it, even as he's rationalizing it as being guilty because he doesn't have the time to work towards The Plan and tracking down an Aegis. And Dream also can't even ask about Punz, because Dream-the-newly-Awakened-Blade isn't even supposed to know who Punz is, and ew!Ranboo hasn't shown up recently at all.

And Dream learned how to mute the emotional bleed a bit, so Niki's not getting everything (the guilt has been buried so deep by the rationalizing and denial that it doesn't register, really). But she's getting enough to know that Dream is just anxious all the time, even in otherwise happy moment. So sometimes she just gets stuck wondering how a Blade like the Dream she's in Resonance with ended up like the Dream she went to help kill so many months ago.

It leaves something sour on her tongue because as much as the bitterness has festered towards c!Tommy and c!Wilbur and New L'Manberg now, how much did it infect the Dream from the start of the server? This is what kick-starts her acceptance of her relationship with Wilbur as more manipulative, since Wilbur did not get revived in this AU.

Techno and c!Philza have their own opinions about the Dream situation. Even though Techno would normally be sharper about catching that Dream sometimes knows things he shouldn't, Techno is in Resonance with an Aegis. And Aegis Blades always remember, which means his relationship with Phil has never changed, even when Phil has died and been reAwakened (it's happened a couple times in the past). They're more worried about the fact that Dream is muted (Punz's abilities linger after his death).

There should've been a message in the server activity logs when Dream was revived. There was not a message, and there still have not been any messages, even though Dream should have gotten several new achievements (in addition to Blade memories getting reset, achievement progress does as well). They are worried about what this means for Dream, who went missing for 6 months and now seems to have a a shyer personality.

Ranboo is probably the member of the Syndicate most likely to catch on to the fact that Dream does remember, except ew!Ranboo is actively sabotaging this (by messing with the Memory Book) when he's aware and also Ranboo prefers to avoid Dream--he is still uncomfortable with him, and uncomfortable with the fact that he hears a voice in his head that sounds like Dream.

my thoughts on doomsday are that the event itself was interesting. i genuinely understand c!techno's pov even if i think he was wrong and taking out his emotions on the wrong people and went way too far. someone said his autism rage meltdown and ngl i Get it like he is just like me fr. narratively the idea of "guy is really angry at people who are also really angry at him, is enabled by dream, Local Guy Who Sucks" intrigues me. Other things i liked: everyone was there, lots of people reacted to it in different ways, my babyboy cq got to be there and be angry and im here for that allll the time and it helped put a lot of flavor into his later las nevadas arc which i will never regret. ghostbur was killing it. tommy & techno's bedrock breakup was heartbreaking and LOVELY. i enjoyed a lot of it for that reason.

things i didnt like: while sometimes i think ccphil was Trying to say that cphil was in the wrong for doomsday stuff, i am so. completely unsure and regardless if that was his Intent, it absolutely felt that way and it felt like no one actually... thought that for ages lmao. it poisoned a lot of later discourse and a lot of fandom perception of all the characters involved i think. it also felt like it 'sploded the main community hub which ppl have talked about in a lot of ways. dream having access to creative control made it so that it felt as if there wasnt even any suspense. there was no way anyone could have fought back against it, and while i think without that, techno probably still would have won, it would have been much closer of a fight and way more interesting. i also dont like the idea that the destruction of the place itself could ever kill lmanberg, my country of dandelions.

overall, i think if things had ended post-disc finale (which, even though i love the las nevadas arc and resurrected wilbur arc etc, i feel as though it is the ending that is 'cleanest' in canon) i wouldnt necessarily feel as bad about it as i did, as that would have left it open-ended if people rebuilt and therefore could have removed a lot of the negative feelings i have on the topic.

I don’t know if is the same type of fans but i noticed that some ficwritters that are really foucused on philza and wilbur (and sbi family i think?) Are kinda trying to add cellbit to this situation? Like i read some philza focused fanfic where he interacts with cellbit and the ficwritters act like cellbit is his kid? Its weird idk how to explain very well (this is also the same people that kinda write cellbit as a native english speaker (american and european) and not a brazilian (its something that is too hard to explain right now)

And its kinda stressing me out because cellbit is written in such a weid way and its infesting the spiderbit tag lol and i dont understand what is going on half of the time since idk what the hell sbi even is (brazilian with 0 understanding about english speaking mcty)

Oh yeah no I don’t really get it but like. I also do! Because q!Phil has become one of only a literal handful of people on the island to actually properly trust q!Cellbit and so they’re like. Friends. But obviously you can never just be friends with someone not your age and so. Fandom assigned family dynamic. It’s super weird and lowkey like. Idk it’s just weird lol.

A discussion surely must follow!

First, a brief rundown of SBI:

SBI is Sleepy Boys Inc., a group made of up streamers Philza, Wilbur Soot, Tommyinnit, and Technoblade. (Originally it was just Phil, Wilbur, and Techno, but Tommy wiggled his way in somehow.) They’re Best Friends, but somewhere along the way their fandoms said. Fuck it. Family dynamic… mostly because the ccs lowkey thought it was funny and ran with it. Wilbur alone would rather die than not have Philza Minecraft be his father

This dynamic spread to their characters on the dsmp despite them literally not once ever referring to each other all as family; iirc Techno himself said he at least wasn’t part of the family because that dynamic would be fucked up after all the shit his character did to both c!Wilbur and c!Tommy. But c!Phil was c!Wilbur’s father even though he did fully murder his ass, and Wilbur and Tommy were brothers because they’re Wilbur and Tommy and you’d have to kill them to stop them from being brothers. Tommy was never established to be c!Phil’s son, and Phil never seemed to consider him one

But then the dsmp started dying around summer 2021 and everyone was kinda just left with fanon, and SBI fanon can get weird. I’m talking borderline fetishistic nuclear family stuff, especially when you get into ‘Dark SBI’ content with Phil kidnapping Tommy or whatever and forcibly making them family? It gets weird, take a look through the tag sometime

The thing with a lot of these fics is that like. It’s gotten to a point where it’s a fandomized version of both cc! and c!SBI with some really freaky characterizations and some really diehard fans. I’ve talked about that before, so I won’t do it again.

The weirdest thing I’ve noticed about these fics, though- and this goes back to what we were talking about with Cellbit inexplicably being added to the mix all of a sudden- is that everybody has to be a family.

You’ll be hard pressed to find a SBI fic where the characters have friends. Even Tubbo and Ranboo, usually delegated to a ‘Tommy’s friend!’ role despite them not interacting much like as a group ever are treated either as extensions of Tommy himself or as his found family ‘brothers’ who Phil also inevitably helps take care of rather than as friends, and they act that way. Niki isn’t usually ever written in as Wilbur’s friend, she’s Benchtrio’s sister/mother-figure, or she’s described as Wilbur’s found family sister. Jack Manifold? Lumped in with Niki with Benchtrio as their older brother/father-figure. Quackity? Either Wilbur’s boyfriend, thus a member of the family, or Tommy’s older brother/father-figure.

Even characters who never really interacted with SBI as a “family” on the dsmp get this treatment: you’ll read an SBI fic with c!Purpled in it and he’ll be Tommy’s brother figure. c!Sam is Tommy’s father figure. Schlatt is Tommy’s uncle or Wilbur’s brother. Puffy is an aunt. Sapnap and Dream? Tommy’s brother or father figures. Even Hannah is being written as Tommy’s cool older sister figure these days despite only really interacting with him once on the smp

And you can see this kind of behavior continuing now in the qsmp fandom… if the new ccs/characters in question aren’t “problematic”. Chayanne can’t see Techno as a personal hero, he has to see him as an older brother or an uncle. Tubbo is Phil and Fit’s son and Tommy’s brother. Niki is Tallulah’s mom. Quackity is Wilbur’s boyfriend.

What you’ll actually be hard pressed to see is this kind of dynamic with Phil and other, “problematic” ccs, aka ccs who aren’t like. English ccs.

Because you won’t find q!Forever included in the family dynamics despite him basically being q!Phil’s best friend and closest confidant. It took longer for q!Missa to be added to Phil’s wiki page than it did for Techno to despite them literally being explicit canon husbands, and you’ll be lucky if Missa is even mentioned in a “qsmp” SBI fic. Etoiles? Not even mentioned despite him and Phil more or less actually leaning into the family dynamic with the “brothers” thing. Even Tallulah and Chayanne are left out or mischaracterized in “qsmp” SBI fics, giving Tommy the spotlight.

You won’t find nearly anybody who isn’t an English cc in these fics, and this is NOT accusing anyone of xenophobia. It’s most likely just because the SBI people are used to watching only Phil or only Wilbur and they don’t speak enough of the other languages to really care about the non-English ccs and thus disregard their characters and lore. It’s not just SBI people who do this, it’s plenty of people speaking every language on the server not watching anyone whose languages they don’t speak. Yk?

But that brings us to q!Cellbit, and I’m surprised the SBI guys have latched onto him the way they did considering he’s everything they seem to dislike: his first language isn’t English, he doesn’t talk with Phil a lot, he and Tallulah get along really well, he makes fun of Wilbur being gone. And, honestly? The SBI guys did hate him for a long time because of those things, they constantly undermined his efforts and said Phil would be a better Order leader and said that he should never speak to Tallulah again because he was making her sad and he’s friends with their least favorite person ever, Forever.

But then q!Phil said he trusted Cellbit, and it’s like a switch was flipped. Starting around the Pills Arc when they first teamed up, SBI people were suddenly on board with Cellbit despite being part of the haters literally days before. Why? Well. Phil and Cellbit are friends now, and so now he gets the privilege of being in the fics.

The problem with this is that these people have never watched Cellbit. They’ve seen ten minutes of him total from Phil’s pov, and that’s all they’re going to use to write his character. So of course there will be mischaracterization.

And, of course, they’ll be family. Because, as I said, there’s this weird allergy to the concept of friendship in SBI fics. You’re family or you’re an enemy.

Constant fanon mischaracterization of Phil has basically turned him into a universal father figure even if he doesn’t have that dynamic with the characters he’s like the “father” of. q!Cellbit’s only familial figure outside of his actual canon family is generally seen as q!Bad, who even referred to him as family last night on stream. But, because Phil and Cellbit are friends now and Cellbit is younger than Phil is, they have to have a father-son dynamic, because that’s what Phil’s only character trait is in the SBI fics he’s in. He’s the dad whether it makes sense or not.

In the dnd au, why do Techno and Phil help the party in the first place? And does Fundy figure out/know Phil is actually his grandpa, and I mean just in general do they know Phil used to be king? Like does Dream reconize him? Is he even old enough to do that? I'm really shit at lining up timelines, so idk if you've mentioned he was around(and in a place of power at the time) to actually know what Phil looks like enough to remember and recognize him when they meet

The reason why they help is actually because Philza has been watching the party the entire time. Ever since the beginning of the au tbh Phil has been keeping an eye on Cala when she arrived in Las Nevadas via his crows. Cala doesn’t mind and even feeds/gives them shiny things. She doesn’t think much of it.

And then Cala breaks Dream out of prison and now Phil is 100% intrigued- not scared— intrigued. Because for the past decade Techno has been trying to get Dream out himself but it didn’t end well for him at all multiple times because well, Dream was the only one that made Techno feel like he was a person. And they both understood each other a lot.

So Philza tells techno and techno is just “HEH??”

Because how the hell did a tiny woman break dream out of prison

So Phil just watches closely and slowly leads them into the syndicate area which is hidden in the unclaimed snowy area of the continent. C:

Syndicate is actually one of the few places where Dream feels safe… even though Ranboo is there and Ranboo is trying not to stress the fuck out about it

As for the next set of questions- Fundy never knew his grandpa. He was a baby when Phil left and Wilbur basically painted a neglectful picture of him which- kinda fair tbh since Phil just up and left. Dream however would know Phil! He knows Phil and techno and actually uses that as one of the reasons to get close to Wilbur when he was Wilbur’s helper back then.

Cala and Spookt however don’t know who this old man is with the crow aesthetic though- in the readings of the kingdoms they’re either very vague and not helpful at all or they do help but they just don’t describe what he’s actually like

So they wouldn’t understand really what’s up with him but I feel like over time they’d be very close.

Also side note I wanna say that Phil is an interesting case bc his race is really unknown! Like he looks like an Aasimar or at least a high elf but sometimes he shifts into a Corvum (literal crow person)- and he’s ruled for like a long LONG time to the point where some people don’t know if he was a myth or not or if people were exaggerating his rule.

I got really interested in c!Dream's character sometime after the Disc War Finale and went back to look at L'Manburg to see how c!Dream being the villain started. That's where BlueBell found me and a lot of my early c!Dream takes were a result of me just kinda throwing ideas at her and her throwing ideas back. She introduced me to Staged Finale when it was still just a theory too, which was the major thing that differentiated my personal interpretation from that of most c!Dream apologists and c!Dream neutrals/dislikers.

I think the main reason I gravitated towards c!Dream apologists in the end though was that the other side was just really obnoxious, especially about c!Technoblade lol. I didn't agree with a lot of c!Dream apologist takes about their own guy, but I found their approach to the story much more interesting, they tended not to trash on any of my faves, and I didn't understand the ire they were faced with at all. And they had some damn good angst. How could I refuse?
