i do think its a little disconcerting about the wider trends of misogyny in the dsmp fandom that like.

the immeadiate thought for "i need a supporting character that shows up once to help my protagonist (cbench. i am talking about cbench) and never again" is to make that person puffy or niki or hannah and not an OC.

The fact that cc!Dnf is already a thing that is popular to say the last basically guaranteed him a high spot in the amount of popularity each character has. But if you main a female character it's basically just choosing whether you want to see your favorite character flanderized or used as a shallow misogynistic stereotype or parentified in a fic about c!Dream.... or the exact same thing with c!Tommy.

It is incredibly depressing that when looking at other mcyt fandoms on Ao3 there is at least one or more female characters in the top ten. But when looking at the DSMP fandom tag? Nope.

Even worse when there are characters who have other been on the DSMP than at least one female character, or has had less lore and plot significance than any of the female characters.

Does anyone else think about the similarities between Lapis's and Jasper's relationship from Steven Universe and C! Disc Duo(Tommy and Dream)?

Because like- in Steven Universe, Lapis knew that Jasper is awful and is just using her, but admits that a part of her still misses Jasper. Then look at C! Disc Duo, where Tommy admits that Dream simultaneously makes Tommy like feel he has to be friends with Dream while also like he just wants to kill Dream. Also, I'm not completely sure if this was mentioned in the canon lore, but I think Tommy also said that a part of him still misses Dream despite being terrified of him.

It's so agdksnjs to me because AHHHHHH
