the thrill of hitting a note, the laughter and tears in rehersals, the jokes only your castmates get, how much fun choreo is, the feeling that at the end of the show, these guys kinda feel like some kinda fked up family, the sweat and blood and tears that go into props and sets and choreo, watching others scenes come to life, watching your castmates grow in their confidence and talent, the first time putting on your costume, the first time running the whole show props costumes and sets, that feeling on opening night, the jitters and butterflies the barfs and the tears and the excitement. and getting the standing ovations and boquets and compliments

OPINION

If Lin continues working with Disney, then, like Hugh Jackman, he's going to eventually shoot himself in the foot, because, like Hugh, Lin allowed his agent to typecast him. I know Lin loves Disney, but I do agree with you in the fact that he should branch out into different genres as well as roles. Do it while you're still (kind of) young and attractive! I, too, think he has potential to star in a--for example--horror or action film. Side Note: He's a theater geek, so I don't doubt he's a stranger to prosthetics and SFX makeup. That being said, I don't want him to only be versatile in the roles and genres, but I also would love to see him be versatile with his physical appearance. Each time I watch a movie I know he's in, I don't want him to be recognizable. I don't want him to look the same in every movie regardless of the genre (and role). Sorry for getting side-tracked... I think you made a really good point about Hugh's career in the fact that during the 2010s he was sexualized due to his portrayal of Wolverine and was therefore typecasted as a strong and tough guy. Here we are in 2023, and he's not as in-demand like he used to be. Why? Well, there's a lot of reasons (some of which I'm sure are logical and by personal choice), but one reason, I think, is because he's not in his "Wolverine Era" (I totally made that up just now, lol). I know 2020 forced Hollywood to shut down for a few months, but even then, before 2020, Hugh wasn't really as in-demand after 2017. That's just my opinion, though!

I do see the correlation, and I am honestly very impressed. I would hate for that to happen to Lin! He's so naturally creative and talented when it comes to the arts, and (I'd like to think) the higher ups in both Hollywood and Broadway see that. I want him to keep the passion and love for composing music all his life, but I don't want him to limit himself to just that form of art. It's great, though, that composing music has been opening doors for him, especially since Hamilton. Regarding his acting career, limiting himself to just Disney (and I guess even musical films in general) might eventually backfire on Lin if he doesn't give other genres and acting roles a try now while he's still in the prime of his life.

HOWEVER...

I don't want to sound like I'm saying one is better than the other, because that's not true, and these two are talented in their own respective categories, but I feel that Lin has more versatility and, to an extent, range when it comes to career occupation, so that's why he's more in-demand than Hugh. He sings, raps, writes music, and acts (television, film, stage). He also directed tick, tick... BOOM!, which I actually did not know. I hope he goes on to direct more films in his future (preferably not musicals, though)! Anyways, and so, because of that, these various activities of his allow him more job opportunities in Hollywood and even for Broadway. He has range. Between the two, Lin-Manuel Miranda is the bigger theater geek. He was born to perform and entertain people! Hugh, on the other hand, only has experience with singing and acting both on stage and in films. Is that a bad thing? No! He, too, was born to perform and entertain people. However, Hugh seems to not be as active with singing and Broadway itself like Lin is.

Now, having said all of that, if we put looks aside, which actor do you think Hollywood is more interested in working with?
