BYEE today I saw Hades and others in my dream😭😭 It was weird but so funny
He was planning to take all Zeus' power so he could take over the olympus and for that he was going to the place where Circe is. So me and him went there and there were also Odysseus there. Anyways then Hades asked Circe about some flowers that will make Zeus weak and Circe said "Isn't Zeus your brother? Isn't he a good guy?" And he and I(Btw Idk why I was there but I was following Hades for some reason and watching him or sometimes talking w other ppl🤷‍♀️) responded "Him being Zeus doesn't mean he is the greatest person in the entire world!" After that Circe gave Hades the flowers and we went to a castle. Then Hades gave me those flowers to give it to Hercules. So I did and Hercules gave it to Zeus. Then Zeus got sick and Hades take over that castle where Zeus and other gods stay(idk why its a castle and not olympus) and then Jafar showed up out of nowhere and he just standed there. Hades laughed at Zeus then Hercules and Hera saw it and got sad and their light and power got wanished. Then the whole castle turned into a place where all disney characters stay(mostly villains) and then Mickey saw that Zeus is sick and Herc doesn't have any power anymore. So Mickey declared war to Hades and Mickey won.. THEN MICKEY POURED LAVA ON HADES but Hades didn't die and didn't felt any pain since he is a god and he just stared at them like that. Then Hades left and Herc got his light and powers back then he took the flowers that is wrapped around Zeus' neck and throwed it away. AFTER THESE I GOT TELEPORTED TO GIRL INTERRUPTED MOVIE AND OMG IT WAS CRAZY ASF AND LISA SCARED ME..😭😭 Anyway thats it, I just wanted to share it cuz why not

yeah i can't help but constantly feel bad for kazuya. poor dude lost everyone in his life at a young age, was abused, and felt lonely for years yet everyone views him as the literal devil. which is ironic because kazuya also killed the least amount of people in his family (he only killed eddy's dad and leo's mom), meanwhile heihachi and jin have way more bodies and skeletons in their closets (heihachi unleashing ogre, jin's war crimes). after heihachi died, it's like namco is hellbent on making kazuya as evil as possible. also heihachi (aka kazuya's abuser) being a good guy is just stupid retconning and harada's favoritism for him. heihachi mishima being a tragic villain/anti-hero in tekken 7 makes literally no sense when you look at his characterization back in tekken 1-5 and creates plot holes (ex heihachi clearly wanting devil power in tekken 4). oh and heihachi has plot armor and survives kazuya throwing into a volcano which is stupid.
kind of reminds me of sasuke uchiha from naruto, similarly to kazuya sasuke was also abused as a child, lost his entire family to his older brother itachi, and itachi also even went as far as to torture sasuke for 72 hours using a genjutsu while showing him his parents death on loop. both kazuya and sasuke want more power so they'll never suffer from losing family or be a victim ever again and even end up going from hero to villain in the story. most of the series is about the rivalry between sasuke and his brother (like how a lot of tekken's story is about the father and son rivalry of kazuya and heihachi). then out of nowhere, sasuke's abuser itachi is suddenly revealed to be a secret good guy who tried to protect konoha which is why he murdered his clan (except not really he did nothing to protect the stupid village, he never warned the hokages about pain or orochimaru etc). sasuke sadly didn't even get to beat his abuser fair and square, because itachi is an op fuck who let him win anyways or some stupid bullshit. apparently most of the uchiha clan is born pure evil (including sasuke's parents) and they planned a coup after they were literally framed for the Kurama attack (which isn't even their fault and they had nothing to do with it - it's the pathetic incel simp O*ito Uchiha's fault). this stupid retcon of itachi makes no sense because he is clearly evil incarnate in part I and makes plot holes (like itachi wants sasuke to be a hero, but also wants sasuke to kill his own best friend which would've made him hated by everyone???). oh and after itachi dies, sasuke gets potrayed as pure evil incarnate (him trying to kill both sakura and karin, him wanting to destroy konoha, etc). the other characters view sasuke as the devil, even though he helped save the world at the end and similarly to kazuya he also didn't even kill that many people (itachi killed several innocent people and also probably commited some crimes while working with a terrorist organization, o*ito the incel simp and madara started a war "for the greater good" and killed many more people). people online constantly feel pity and sadness for heihachi and itachi but not their abuse victims.
Heihachi = Itachi
Kazuya = Sasuke
Jin = Madara (jin kazama and madara uchiha ily and i'll always love you, but both of you are war criminals and warmongers who killed so many ppl "for the greater good".)
i can't help but feel bad for both kazuya mishima and sasuke uchiha. they deserve so much better from the people who created them and the fandom full of stupid double standards. at least kazuya has jun and sasuke has sakura i guess.
don't have too much to add, anon is right!

My problem with Sarada’s timeskip outfit
I wasn’t going to do this but with the number of times i have seen that outfit on my FY page on other platforms, I kinda wanna gauge my eyes out.
But I’ll refrain from that and explain why I don’t like it. If you like it that’s your thing.
Tumblr media
I won’t be too mean so let’s get to the Pros first.
- This is Ikemoto’s own flare and I respect that. Kishimoto did encourage him to do this own thing rather than copy his style, and he’s doing it, so that’s a plus.
- It helps separate Kishi’s and Ike’s work better.
- It’s kinda cool and fashionable once you get use to it. The outfit is also a continuation of her pre timeskip ( which is also problematic for me)
However, for me the Cons outweighs the Pros about 3 times at least
1. It doesn’t suit Sarada as a person.
She’s quite level-headed and practical since the beginning of the series. Sarada also doesn’t express her emotions openly. She’s not much of a fashion gal who needs to dress cute and sexy all the time as well.
She’s also a responsive and active girl.
As we know, outfit is a big part of character design, it shows the readers part of the character’s characteristics, and we can understand which vibes they gonna give off.
Heels and loose jackets don’t help indicate the activeness, maturity and seriousness that Sarada has.
The jacket and the shoes being big and heavy don’t indicate a powerful taijutsu user who has Chidori ( a technique that is speed based) as one of her arsenal.
Various accessories don’t show a girl who is efficient and analytical right on the spot.
So a drippy and ngl sexy outfit doesn’t help showing what kind of person she actually is.
2. The design doesn’t match the world building
Yes this is peace time, yes it is also a fantasy world, but Naruto character designs have always been more functionalities oriented. Tell me you look at a basic jounin outfit and say it doesn’t scream life bulletproof jacket.
However it’s still a fantasy so not everything has to 100% be functionalism because if that’s the case then they’ll all wear bulletproof jackets.
If you see the main designs of each period you can see how it evolved over time: from samurai-ish armor to bulletproof style jacket and lighter version of it in Boruto time.
This problem comes in 2 parts
- It hinders Sarada’s very own power
She has her mother’s strength and her father’s ninjutsu, which requires her being fast and active. A big bomber jacket which is always fallen on one shoulder ( and stay there with all of her movements smh ) doesn’t help her very physical fighting style.
Tumblr media
And you better tell me how this kind of sleeves does not hinder her hands’ signs, esp the thumbs.
- The design contradicts a very crucial element of Naruto’s clothing design: Maneuverability
This one is quite a controversial and people have screamed left and right about this so I’ll just argue some stuff they said
1. Heels are not a problem. She can fight in heels since there were other women in Naruto did that.
Yes and no.
Yes theoretically she can. However Sarada as an active teen Chunin won’t do that.
The famous examples of women who fight in heels were Mei, Tsunade and Konan. However Konan often turns herself into paper and she floats/ flies a lot so she didn’t even need her legs as much lol.
Mei and Tsunade are straight up Kages, they don’t have to fight that often. And when they have to fight, it’s either ambush or a sudden wtf thing appears out of nowhere.
If you look at every Chunin girl designs, none of them fight in heels. Especially those taijutsu specials aka Tenten, Hinata and her mom!
2. There are ppl who wear long coats but still can fight so can she. ( aka the Akatsuki and Hinata)
The coat is part of the character designs to help gives off a cool, dangerous and mysterious vibe for the new villain, so that the readers can be hooked and keep reading.
Still the coat is quite easy to move in even when it’s zipped up.
Tumblr media
The lower part ( idk what to call it ) can still split apart after that.
Hinata has a big jacket but it’s to show her shyness and introverted nature, and she zips that shit up wtf.
Summary:
I guess my very main problem is that it doesn’t suit Sarada’s very own character, the others are just favour to the main dishes.
Thank you for reading till the end. I’m also happy to hear other takes on this.

So I’ve been scrolling through the Durgetash tag and wtf.
First I’m fcking heartbroken that my Durge will not experience the moment of finding the letter/s to Franc in it’s original form or at all(?)
And THEN I FIND queerphobic posts and insane comments about Gortash “definitely not” being queer or “just having had a “business relationship” with Durge..? Even tho there’s enough evidence✨
Now… remember when we all adored Astarion and then more and more ppl started joining the tags, groups whatever and now it’s a whole toxic mess that you cannot scroll thru without getting a headache? (It’s sad the magic of it all is kinda dare I say gone.. I just look at it/him idk different, involuntarily at that, but I’m glad that Durgetash is giving all that back in insane amounts that let’s my adhd feet kick in dopamine fully-sated energy *incoherent babbling*)
I think the same is (bhaal forbid) maybe swapping over to Durgetash and I’m scared … cuz this, here… what y’all create! (art, hc’s, stories & just fun post’s overall) is so fxking special and so lovely🌷
And I really fxing hope that the ppl at bg3/larian have a REALLY good reason to *cough cough* meddle in each other’s I MEAN OUR affairs, when we already barely have anything, WHAT WAS THE REASON– just why, there’s enough bugs and crashes or other stuff that needs tending WHY TAKE AWAY?!
Good day and thank you for sharing your thoughts with us and without sugarcoating anything ❤️
I hope a build-a-bear lil dragon or whatever appears outta nowhere for you, that says stuff when you squeeze too hard (just like Durge–) like “ah my favorite bhaalspawn/ my favorite assassin” :)
First off, I hear that some people still see the letter, and others do not. Apparently, it's SUPPOSED to have replaced it, but some people just have computers that are built different, I guess. So you might possibly see it. Not sure.
As for if toxicity is spilling into the Durgetash fandom...maybe? I don't know. We were all pretty civil. I admit, I lost my cool for a minute there, but to be FAIR TO ME, I have not STARTED anything with anyone in literal years.
This was someone sending ME a reply that really pissed me off with its biphobia, like, absolutely ticked me off in one foul swoop.
But for the most part, it's not THAT Combative. But this note changing HAS divided people quite a bit.
So I don't know.. I want to believe durgetash and gortash love are still not mainstream enough to maintain the levels of toxicity that astarion fans seem to cultivate like horticulture.
We'll see.
As for why they changed it...I don't know?
Really seems odd. Maybe they didn't like the tone of it.
Truthfully, as much as I love that note for just being so out of pocket and weird, I admit it's more in character for Gortie to be a more serious guy...but honestly?
It's the fucking game's fault that they made Gortash a boring villain. They FORCED us to cling to his every note. To read more into his interactions with the Dark Urge.
To love that one iconic letter from him.
So they can't walk back on their weirdness....unless....they're planning on....expanding his role....
O.o
We'll see on that too.
Anyway. Thanks for the ask and glad I can entertain! By being an asshole! And a lunatic!
I NEED a Gortash plushie to keep my Dark Urge company!!!
If anyone knows where I can get one, I need that ASK or DM.

but im a hero stan????? i like the villains sure but i dont care about them. i just think hori wrote the story sometimes in a way that MIGHT maybe fool some ppl into thinking that some of the villains (shigaraki, stain) have something to say abt the corrupted society and could try change it in their own violent ways (no offense but thats how a revolution works) and some of yall go like "yeah no they just wanna die and not do shit" unironically as if ppl not liking it was wrong lol
I'm gonna have to break this down because there is a lot here.
"i just think hori wrote the story sometimes in a way that MIGHT maybe fool some ppl into thinking that some of the villains (shigaraki, stain) have something to say abt the corrupted society and could try change it in their own violent ways (no offense but thats how a revolution works)"
The story didn't fool anybody. It was our wishful thinking. I can very honestly look back at the manga and see that, nowhere in the text does it imply that the villains are seeking any actual change. Tomura has the right reasons for his anger, but he has not once channeled it into a productive outcome (AFO has a lot to do with this). His first goal was to just...KILL All Might?? And he attacked a high school to do this, with the intention of killing the kids. Already, right off the bat, you know that this character is not thinking in terms of solutions, just in terms of anger (justified anger). I'm sorry but it's not on Horikoshi that people took that as an attempt to reform shit.
You bring up that violence is often involved in revolutions, and you are right. But comparing this:
Tumblr media
to a revolution geared toward accomplishing something is just, wildly off the mark. No offense to you, but just opting to kill everybody is NOT how a revolution works, actually. The comparison is not good, so I'm really not going to even dwell on that little comment because it's not worth the discussion.
I can get where there might have been some inkling of hope for a reformative idea on the League's part, and I can't deny I was in that bandwagon too. But when I became frustrated with the manga not focusing on the League that way, I had to readjust my reading. And it was not hard to see that it was just MY wishful thinking. Because that's exactly what it was.
I think a lot of people really forgot this scene in chapter 222. Or like, they discount it as irrelevant now. But no, this scene onward has embodied Tomura's entire character.
Tumblr media
"Destroy. It. All."
Look, I've also participated in the "the League are the protagonists of the story" shit too. But again, wishful thinking. They are not the protags, and when they kill and destroy, they are never framed in a positive light. The only time they are framed as the protags is during MVA, when they are attacked and are fighting for survival. And I mean, Tomura winning the fight against ReDestro was a technical win, but for his development as a person it was very detrimental to him in so many ways. They were the protags of that arc, but that arc was so much negative development for them, which should be very telling about what their positions in the story are.
The closest they've gotten to a "revolution" type of reaction was the heteromorph riots--and even then they were written to attack a hospital full of patients and hospital staff trying to help people. So again, their actions can't be backed up and it wasn't portrayed as a solution to literally anything.
"and some of yall go like "yeah no they just wanna die and not do shit" unironically as if ppl not liking it was wrong lol"
Sorry but this is like, exactly how they've been written from the get go. Maybe you don't particularly care, but the villain fandom doesn't want to grasp this.
It isn't ironic because literally--that's who they are.
Do I even need to point out that Touya is canonically suicidal? How is Touya supposed to reform anything if he's dead lmao. There is no valid explanation to somehow twist his actions into something that produces a solution.
Again, it's not about whether people like it or not. That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying that parroting the very safe criticism of "it's bad writing" is just lazy. It rids people of acknowledging that they either misinterpreted the text, got lost in headcanons, or straight up just don't like that it didn't go the way they wanted--which is a frustrating thing to admit, so everyone just resorts to "omg bad writing".
It's not bad writing for NOT delivering on shit that was never promised.

so me and my roommate just finished persona 4 and i have Thots (spoilers below)
persona 4 is a game that can be so gay and homophobic (and transphobic and fatphobic....)
it has some really good stuff in there like i really love the idea of ppl having to accept the parts of themselves that they are ashamed about
but a lot of the time it was just. really not well executed esp w kanji and naoto and there are just so many missed opportunities
side note i love kanji and want to put him in a better game w better friends
i really wish they kept yosuke as a romance option and have him apologize to kanji and grow as a person
and that they didn't have chie be like "teehee you have taught me so much i am going to become a cop <3" like huh?? don't do that
the end also reallyyyy dragged imo and they kept just being like jk it's not over this person is the Real Villain
i did like the twist of it being adachi i didn't expect it at all but all the stuff after that i was just like ok.... 😐 can it be over for real (for real??) yet
there was definitely a good amount of funny parts (both intentional and unintentional) that made me laugh outloud but the bad outweighed the good for me tbh
it had kind of a lot of gross anime bs which games like zero escape and ai somnium files also unfortunately have but the story w persona just didn't make up for it like w the other games those 2 had me like 0: ????!?!!? at the screen multiple times and the closest persona got for me w that was the adachi reveal but it was nowhere near the same level
so overall it was. ok i guess lol i wouldn't recommend it
we also watched the show which i think i actually enjoyed more than the game? i really liked how they did yu's character (usually) and rise and naoto were more likeable imo
and it was also really funny a lot of the time
but also had even more gross fan service than the game i think? or maybe it about evened out in the end idr
anyways
waits for botw 2 to come out

I’m interested in what you think of her interview. I’m disappointed about him not trying to send a message about society but I feel sorry for how difficult the last act must’ve been.
About this post
Ended up being a bit long, so I put my comments under a read more ahshs
I'm also disappointed!! It felt like a cop-out to say he's not trying to deliver any messages, possibly because the social themes he did show in the story didn't work out how he wanted it to. Or maybe he thought the fantasy-esque problems he created were getting a little too realistic and decided to cut it back.
Horikoshi also could've meant that he didn't intend to deliver a message at first, but delivering a message -to the society of MHA- is what ended up happening (not for RL though, ig). But that is an issue in itself, since so far Hori hasn't left any impactful messages in the MHA world at all (at least no messages from the villains, who imo tried to voice many important issues in current hero society).
I don't think Hori's statement absolves him of anything either way. Horikoshi put themes in his story that he had to deliver on, and he did it whether it was done well or not (depends on the reader's opinion tbh). With 2 chaps left we're just gonna have to wait to see how he wants to handle the MHA-verse and whatever message is left in it and we have to remember its totally unrelated to RL too dhajajk
.
Ngl, I felt kind of hollow when Horikoshi said he wanted to bring his readers to tears;; It made me remember Tomura, and I did not cry or get emotional when he 'died' in the series. I was mostly confused about what happened bc it happened so fast and out-of-nowhere. I still feel like that, which sucks.
Ofc there were many moments in the series that *did* leave me emotional, like Twice's death, but that moment w/Tomura currently stands out the most to me and that's what I thought about when I first read the interview snippets.
If Tomura really did "die," then his death should've been handled better. Same w/Toga if she's gone. Dabi and Spinner did rip me apart so far though
.
Also yeah I agree about how Act 3 must've been rough for Horikoshi. I'm glad he's almost done with the series. I complain a lot, but it's obvious he was tired during many parts of the manga and needed a break. One example is when there were a bunch of blank spaces during the AFO and Yoichi backstory. or literally him just killing off 3 major villains all in 1 single chapter.
Working 36 hours straight sounds like hell, and emotionally draining. It's gonna be sad when the series ends, but at this point people would want the series to end just so Horikoshi can finally get the rest that he seriously deseves. Also Hori's editors man,, i don't know if I can trust some of the ones he talks about if im honest. Not all of them sound like great ppl
.
Horikoshi: The person who reaches out to you and pats your shoulder and tells you it’ll be okay becomes the person who saves your life. So I think My Hero Academia might end somewhere like that.
This part reminded me of AM patting deku and bkg on the back,,, which did not make me happy,,, Idk if this was also a reference to Tomura (w/izuku),,, which also made me more unhappy sjfhdsjfds 💀
And also, by this logic, didn't AFO save Tenko by "patting him on the shoulder and telling him everything will be ok"? I'm serious, isn't AFO the first person who did this 'act of kindness' in the series 😭 AFO also pat ShigAFO's shoulder a lot and told him it would all work out while they were in the cave too 💀💀💀💀 i am just so done here man

WHITE SAVIOR COMPLEX | HERO OR VILLAIN?
Tumblr media
By Eldon Macwood
As a mostly white person, I still hate the white savior complex. When I was six, living in Colorado, I played Cowboys and Indians with some classmates. We went to this huge boulder that had trees growing out of it, to us, it was a mini-mountain we could play out our larping. As the cowboy, I was captured by the Indian. But as a prisoner, I learned of their cause, and fought with them against the evil cowboys. Granted, the version we played out wasn't nowhere near as cool as it sounds, because we were all like, six years old, lol, but in our heads, it was a movie to behold. This was in 1987. Although I'm sure it wasn't the story of equality our little hearts thought it was, but for us, it was. Even back then, we kids knew that racism was a thing. And when we played Cowboys and Indians, we had no desire to make the Natives be the bad guys.
But see, back then, I wasn't playing the role of the white savior. Instead, I became an ally who fought alongside, and that's different than playing a savior. Here's another story idea, if a white person is the only one around capable of saving other characters who aren't white, what are they supposed to do? Let them die so that said white character isn't acting like a savior? I'd say the decent thing to do would be to help out in any way, not because that person is white, but because they genuinely care about the lives of others. To say otherwise would be judging them on the basis of the color of their skin, doesn't fall under racism? It did back in my day.
But, if the character is there to play white savior, then I prefer them to fuck it all up, would have been better if they were never there, so now they must do their best to fix their shit. Basically, this is why outsiders aren't allowed in the village, because they always fuck shit up. They go around, playing hero, and some ppl die.
Outsiders are like that kid who's the reason why you can't have anything nice. lol. At least, this can be a thing. Us Humans for a long ass time have always been a fight or flight species, like so many. We evolved in large part to socializing with the right people. And how we do that, we recognize one another as friend or foe. So outsiders, we don't know them, and they have no reason to care about our group. In the matter of culture, or race, would it be much different?
On the other hand, what about outsiders, regardless if they are white, becoming a member of that culture? What about white people who became part of Native tribes before the end of the American Indian Wars? They lost their white status once they were fully allowed. Kina like my earlier example. I was thinking that Chief Logan was once a white man. And Blue Jacket. When I think about either, I think of them as Natives because they were allowed to transition their lives. They foreshook their old ways, and took on the ways of the tribe. Respecting it as a real Native would. I'm pretty sure that nobody thinks of Blue Jacket or Chief Logan as white saviors.
Which also begs the question if the movie, Last Samurai, is a white savior movie. Tom Cruise’s character Nathan Algren was based on Jules Brunet, a French captain who fought alongside the Tokugawa army during the Boshin Wars. And yet, look up anything about white savior tropes, and that movie comes up.
But to the point at hand, I much prefer to see more diverse characters with their own agency. Who save themselves, and their people. If a white character is there, let them be an ally, a friend, because they want to be. That's not being a white savior, that's being a fucking Human being. Of course, this doesn't mean you can't have a white lead. This doesn't mean you if you're white, you can't write non-white characters. I do believe whatever you write, you should do your best to make it as authentic as possible, and from there, write your story. But if you're going to write the same old trope-shit like the white savior, please, turn it around in such a way that it fits.
That's what Frank Herbert did with Dune.
All of that being said, I'm currently writing a one off novel that's a samurai grimdark story called, The Weeping Tiger, that does just that, flips the trope on its head. When I'm done with writing, polishing, and editing, I will release it on Kindle Vella, and then after my exclusive time is up, I will have it available on Kindle. I will make it clear that it's the same book, just in different formats. Can't wait!

“i totally agree with you that AFO follows the same pattern as the other members of the league of villains!!!! I find it so interesting how some ppl did not like the backstory Hori gave AFO bc they wanted him just to be the villain. a bad guy. and they wanted him to stay that way. which is... not in keeping with the story Hori set up at all???? in my most personal opinion lol”
THIS! I was super surprised how many people jumped on the “he was born evil” bandwagon when the initial scanned leaks came out for his backstory. We didn’t even have any sort of true translation for the chapter, only quick vague ones from another leaker, but because the leaker said, “Hey! He was born evil,” everyone just agreed.
All that is said is he was born arrogant and believed everything belonged to him, but this coincides with the nature of his Quirk. His Quirk became active in the womb, so his whole gestation happened while it was already working. Having your personality, urges, etc, shaped by your Quirk is also what happened with Toga. The people in AFO’s past (and readers) looked at him as a diseased monster based around his appearance (especially as a baby) just like Spinner. He has a toxic relationship with his twin and wants Yoichi to look at him, as he does everyone else. This is similar to Dabi’s desire for his father to “see him” and his own issues with the rest of his family. Tomura’s backstory was “forced” by AFO and is very similar since I believe he wanted a “body” that experienced what his original body went through in childhood as he planned to take it over. Tomura also represents the “cycle of abuse” since AFO makes him suffer as he had. AFO also wants everyone else to suffer a painful life of survival and hatred just as he had.
The difference is that AFO is an older man that never received any help from anyone unlike all four of the LOV. No one (though I’d argue probably Yoichi) ever really “saw” him for who he truly is, especially since he took on the Demon Lord persona, until Deku.
“[…]they need to be aggressive about it. "take the bull by the horns" but to the extreme. that there's a history that needs to be addressed as to why AFO grew up and thought the way he did.”
AFO is the product of a tumultuous time where no one wanted to or were fearful of helping him and Yoichi. There were no parental figures to help guide them and morals were nowhere to be found until Yoichi introduced the comic books. You’re very right that, as a character, it’s important to understand his backstory and that includes all the context and subtext involved. This is why I appreciated Hori bringing back his vestige since the ONLY reason he would have to do that is to make AFO’s character and what he really is more clear for the audience. Then he had characters talking about how the state of society after the final war arc is the same type of world that CREATED AFO. To blatantly state that he was created discounts fans continuing to spew out that he was BORN evil.
Although a lot of people think it’s hilarious that he became so enamored with the Demon Lord and built his life around a comic book, I find it to be sad. It was obviously a coping mechanism for him as a child that totally went off the rails. He also definitely sees Yoichi as an extension of himself, which is why I ended up liking the fact they’re twins since it puts all of this into a different perspective, and really wanted to share the “same” dream as him only he picked the other character to “play” in their “game”.
AFO is stated multiple times to be a control freak. He wants control over everything around him—people, things, plans, the world. He stole Overclock just so he could plan WAY ahead of everyone for control purposes. His obsession with control makes complete sense given his backstory: as a child, he had absolutely no control over his life, so exerting control on everything else probably makes him feel safe. The one time we clearly see him lose control is when he lashes out at Yoichi and kills him. I don’t think this was necessarily purposeful when considering how he acted immediately following what he did and how he pursued Yoichi for 100+ years, and was more of a moment of possessive rage.
It reminds me of Anakin lashing out at Padme when she tries to talk him out of continuing down his path just like Yoichi tried to steer AFO from his own dark path. Anakin also looks quite stunned at what he did (which I thought was obvious given the panels we see of AFO after Yoichi explodes), but immediately turns around and blames someone else for his loss of control (Obi-wan). Just as you have in your comic here, Anakin also said “you turned her against me!” to Obi-wan. Given that we KNOW Horikoshi is a huge fan of Star Wars and already made homages to Darth Vader through AFO, it isn’t a stretch to think he was inspired by Anakin’s downfall when crafting what happened between AFO and Yoichi.
I think AFO doubled-downed on control after Yoichi died and convinced himself so thoroughly that all of his control and plans wouldn’t waver, hiding behind his smile, and believing the wind was always blowing in his favor because otherwise…he doesn’t have any control again and what happens when he doesn’t? Bad things. Bad things happen to HIM.
lol this ended up pretty long, but I think you get what I mean!

so my review for disenchanted is... it's fun. it doesn't go anywhere amazing, but there's some fun jokes and some fun characters. its an enjoyable watch with some characters that keep you watching, though i kept wanting them to wring more out of each episode, there is so much potential for a lot of the side characters.
as for characters, most characters aren't really fleshed out, so i didn't feel much connection to most of them, i only really care about luci tbh and bunty is sweet. i'm interested to see what happens with queen oona but seeing as most of her appearances have been small jokes or short appearances, idk, i'm not holding out for much development for her.
bean is good, in theory, though there's not much to her. they have a stereotype of what a non feminine woman is and keep falling back on it, falling back on her being drunk or high somewhere. we don't learn about her childhood, her education, her hobbies, her aspirations. her storylines revolve around her dad or elfo, mostly, under the guise of being about her journey.
some side characters become more interesting, like the kings advisor, odval, although i wish the secret society had been more than just a quick joke. others remain flat and uninteresting, clearly plot devices, not even offering jokes that are that good. i liked getting to learn more about bunty, and the king has some funny moments, but a lot of characters are forgettable. luci is a great break from the repetition or obvious storylines, he's unpredictable and chaotic and kept me watching. he's two steps away from being a fourth wall breaking character, narrating the events in his own way. love eric andres dry tone, luci is a great character i'd love to learn more about.
the pacing of the episodes is a bit random, there's no real connection between most of them and they don't always flow well, sometimes it felt like people's opinions and decisions changed randomly just to keep the plot going. the last episode repeated the same scene several times. the reccuring plot involving luci didn't really grip me and didn't go anywhere really, and has now been overshadowed by the plot of the last episode. i am interested to see where that goes, but i do wonder if the people who sent luci will get a moment to shine and be relevant again.
people keep comparing it to futurama, to the simpsons, but i don't think that gets us anywhere. it's made in a different era, set in a different era, made in different circumstances than for tv viewing. the voice acting is great, it's fun hearing familiar voices, and luci is reminiscent of benders carelessness (also reminds me of paul from the film paul which is a fave of mine), but it's a very different story. there are some weird vague mentions to things like feminism and gender spectrums but they fall flat, i felt unsure if they were being played as a joke or a reference and what the point of them was. there's also that random mention to cultural appropriation, speaking of which, the only two characters of colour are side characters, one completely just a plot device, with ambiguous race and not much depth. seriously guys? you put in elves and gnomes and lizard people but racial diversity was just too hard? put down the d&d handbooks and start being creative.
okay, i'll mention elfo, but briefly. he's annoying. i'm saying it, everyone else seems to be saying it, but what the fuck. it's not his obliviousness and naivety that's annoying, that could've been used well, but it's his crush on bean. i'm not invested, i don't care, it's not interesting. i really don't feel bad for this lil guy fancying a woman out of his league. they tried to give us a different female hero but still went with the 'poor nice guy who she ignores' trope? she deserves what leela and lisa didn't get with the guys chasing after them: the freedom to say no and have it stop. it added nothing to the plot, it became his whole character arc instead of learning to be bad and explore a new place. i'm glad nobody else seems to like him or the idea of him and bean ending up together. seriously, it's so overused, esp in groenings works. i just didn't have the patience to care about him any more as soon as i saw where it was going. bean escaped his advances, but barely, and suddenly she really cared about him despite being ambivalent earlier. the time progression didn't seem real enough to amount to that much character development, the time passage wasn't even clear, it just felt like ten episodes and suddenly luci and bean really cared about elfo all of a sudden. can't relate.
ok, elfo out of the way, what did i enjoy? the scenery, the banging theme song, the good one liners, every character john dimaggio voiced, that one time luci got captured that was quite fun to watch, the whole talking cat thing, uhh, some other stuff. seriously, you can enjoy watching it and not feel too bored, it's just the repetitive tropes that get a bit dull. i kept watching for the potential, a lot of the time. hoping for things to go farther than they did. the earlier eps are fun, the later ones i felt had odd pace and sudden character development/change and a lot of repeated content.
in the second series i want a lot more from these characters. they tried to fit in like three plot twists when most people would have preferred more character exploration, more believable development between bean, elfo and luci as friends. a lot of the episodes were bean and friends get drunk, fuck stuff up, go back to see the king. i don't want more of that in s2. i expected more depth to the plot seeing as multiple writers were involved in gravity falls, but it's ok if it's just fun too, but decide which you're going for because atm i'm not sure how seriously to take the twists or not.
i'd love to see more of hell, learn more about luci. i loved the mention of him having a 9 to 5 job in hell, there's so much that could be explored there, and robot hell was a blast in futurama. seriously, bring back dan as the dancing devil, that'd be fun. i'd have rathered luci having odd jobs from the devil than having two random people apparently controlling him but doing absolutely nothing at the same time. in s2, recycle the tired tropes into something new. throw out the 'old hooker' trope and put in more three dimensional women. get rid of the 'strong female character' idea you have in your heads and actually write a real female character. please, god, get more female writers, i can tell when a woman is written by a man and it's boring. i feel they need to let shion takeuchi have more involvement because i bet she'd do a better job with a lot of these elements but alas she's literally one of only three women on the team with any major involvement, and it shows. it's a show centred around a female character yet it's mostly all decided by men. it's 8 men to 3 women as far as i can tell. and only one person of colour, afaik. it really shows. i'm not surprised, but more people should be pissed off about this. ridiculous.
don't do anything with elfo he's fine where he is just leave him there. bring back tess the giant i want to know more about her. please let oona and odval have a friendship where they bitch about the king and have medieval scrabble nights or something. let literally any women interact with each other without hating each other or talking about men. give bean a girlfriend. don't give pendergast any more screen time people are obsessing over him for some reason and he doesn't deserve that. let the queens be friends or something. let them date. too many women hate each other in tv i'm tired. ramp up the goddamn puns i know u have more stored somewhere and the scenes of shop names etc are fun. have bean learn to drive a horse and cart or get a job she's good at or learn a new skill or make a female friend or something more than having her get drunk and fight her way out of a situation with no real consequences. ok i'm done.

lolz edelgard fan unfollowed me
#and in that moment nobody was surprised. i am seriously so uncomfortable with people thinking she's good and righteous#i know some ppl like her as a villain or as a complicated character but don't like her as a person and like that shit's all good#but most of the time the only reason people like her is bc she's a girl#if edelgard were a man people would cancel her on twitter and burn pictures of her at the stake#kinda reminds me of that dimitri meme. he doesn't just kill women. he MURDERS them#y'know who else kills and murders women??? yuri!!! :D#and generally like idc abt edelgard fans as much as edelgard stans bc the latter people are batshit most of the time#one time this one guy in a server just out of NOWHERE at all comes into a chat and starts bashing Dimitri#nobody was even talking about him and we were just in a voice call after playing games#literally not even talking about three houses and this guy comes in and starts bashing him in front of dimitri fans#and mind you this was a game voice text chat he did it in so it wasn't even the right channel to discuss it#he just came in and did that and then when I shut his ass down he goes sorry I didn't mean for that KHFJHGS LMFAO that lie tho#u rly abouta walk into a game night text chat when you weren't even IN the game night and randomly bash a character#that people in the call loved for literally zero entire reason just to prop up edelgard#imagine if i randomly walked in on claude fans and bashed him just to be like AND LORENZ IS ALL THAT IS HOLY IN THE WORLD#like nah i love claude but even when im discussing lorenz and dealing with claude stans who bash lorenz#i don't just waltz in to prop lorenz up and put claude down like ??? b u h r u h#i ain't ever seen people this shitty in any fe fandom before#the best feeling in the world is killing edelgard in heroes with shinon#turns on ''yaaaaaay!!!'' sfx for every instance#tl;dr idc who you like as a character but if they do awful shit just admit they did awful shit#and don't go after fans of other characters and shit on the characters in front of them when they weren't even hurting you#it's NOT hard to be a decent person and agree to disagree. what makes me uncomfortable is when#edelgard stans think she's justice and perfection and can do no wrong. like buddy everyone can do wrong and everyone has in their life#i'm not against like AU edelgard fics and all that and like what she could've been. i hate that she's unreasonable in canon#tbd

Hi! I actually have this idea that has been bothering me for a few days. What if no one saved villain darling? No tsaritsa, foul legacy childe or even xiao. What if darling became stronger and wants revenge even if she had to do it herself? So she creates a new identity and recruits ppl who are like her. Misunderstood, had nowhere to etc. Many joined everyday and soon an unstoppable gang with unknown abilities start causing havoc in teyvat, led by an unnamed leader who craves one thing, revenge
Honestly, I can see this happening. Just a darling that's tired of being mistreated, of being hunted down like a wild animal. It's when they are bleeding out in a safe and hidden cave that they decide that it has to stop then and there. They think they can just waltz over them and kill them for something they didn't even understand? Like hell did they care that they looked like some kind of god. It's not that they chose to look like this!
The beginnings are rough and they are driven to desperation more than once. Hunger, thirst, dizziness, nausea. It's all normal for them until they settle into a routine and find a way to care for themself.
It was even harder for them to find someone to teach them to fight. Luckily Darling stumbled upon Bosacius, Liyue's missing Yaksha. They cared less about that title. Obviously they were wary, but Bosacius was quick to prove he didn't share his fellow Yaksha's sentiment and the Geo Archon's thought. Just like them he thought the Nations were stupid to hunt them down. They were born with the face of their god - isn't that the biggest honor one could have?
Bosacius was the one to train them. Everything he was adept in did he teach them, from sword fighting to listening to the elements and controlling them, which was the Darling's special talent. Each element by itself may not be that strong, but combining them sure made Darling a nice little powerhouse.
With time passing and more and more misfits and outsiders joining their little group, they didn't stay hidden for long. Their continued actions against injustice and unstoppable attacks on the nations showed their strength to the world and soon there wasn't a city or village that hadn't heard of the "Misfits" as they've so lovingly be called. The group themselves cared less. They were misfits and they knew it. Under Darling's order, they accepted it.
A former Fatui Cicin Mage that did not want to work under the Harbingers anymore.
A former Mondstadt citizen who was shown the true colours of 'freedom'.
A Liyue citizen who lost everything because of the nation's greed and pride.
Those and many more joined and came to Darling to find a new place they could call home. And it became just that.
The nations obviously were on edge. A steadily growing group whose attacks were ruthless and merciless, and they didn't even know their purpose! Of course they saw them helping the unfortunate ones, those that have been cast aside. But what were they truly after?
Darling can't wait to show them their true goal. Soon they'd a strong enough force that not even Celestia might stand against them.
All in the name of revenge because the nations never once cared to find out the truth behind the 'Imposter'.

elaborating on this bc it's fun to think about- obviously a lot would have to get cut so here is my pitch (it's going to be bad but i only have three hours of runtime to work with here):
1. abb is gone. sorry there's no time. i love you lung and bakuda maybe you can get some cameos
2. kaiser replaces lung as taylor's first cape fight, but it essentially plays out the same. this is to set him up for the audience as the "main villain" so ppl can say omg my expectations were subverted when leviathan kills him
3. one of the undersiders is getting cut because there's not enough screentime to develop them all. it's probably going to be aisha. i am so sorry i hate it too
4. immediately following the bank heist there is a short montage of the undersiders getting up to villainous activities cut to a 90s pop song
5. the coil arc and the slaughterhouse nine are condensed to be both be happening at the same time. neither gets the screentime they need and as such this part of the movie feels like slop and audiences start to tune out
6. travelers cut entirely. if we're lucky they get a spinoff movie that tanks at the box office and kills the franchise forever
7. timeskip happens after taylor kills alexandria instead of after behemoth. this is so we can do a "3 years later" cut straight into the behemoth fight. the chicago wards are never named and only exist as taylor's underlings, except for theo who is inexplicably forced as a romantic rival to brian. bc what worm really needs is a boring hetero love triangle
8. somehow jack slash is there right after behemoth gets killed and gets to chat with scion, starting gold morning right away
9. not much changes in gold morning, but cauldron kinda gets shafted because we only get to meet them now (there is cauldron foreshadowing throughout the rest of the film so it's not totally out of nowhere)
10. no epilogues. the second gunshot happens over black and we go straight into the credits. there is a post-credits scene of teacher getting kicked down an elevator shaft but it's implied he survived. literally no one in the audience knows who teacher is because he gets one (1) line during gold morning. everyone leaves the theater absolutely exhausted and annoyed
If Worm were to be adapted into another medium (movie, comic, animated show, etc.) which one do you think would be the best at adapting the story?
see i don't think there's any other medium that is "best at adapting the story" because the story isn't just about traumatized teenager taylor hebert and the events that lead to her dissociating hard enough to kill god, but about taylor hebert's internal life while she's doing all of that. there's no medium other than a book that can preserve the vast quantities of internal monologuing necessary to meaningfully grasp taylor as a character. and that's not even getting into the other mechanical problems like the length of the thing or the artistic complexity that would go into adapting literally any of it. so i think the Ideal Worm Movie/Comic/Show would either be:
the self-indulgent option (animated largely-episodic teen titans styled dramedy cartoon about the undersiders that scraps trying to straightforwardly adapt any significant portion of the story, but keeps the characters recognizable, if significantly simplified)
the more plausible option: some kind of movie or show set in worm (book) (real) aiming to strike the exact same tone as worm but intentionally focusing on a side story that's either only briefly shown/hinted at in worm or nonexistent in it entirely. like if ellisberg exists as a thing in worm and endbringer attacks exist as a thing in worm you can 100% invent some kind of Scenario happening at some point in the world of worm that's interesting to see, self-contained enough to be plausible to adapt, and not stepping on the toes of anything already done better in the book. i would like this to be animated also because i simply think worm would be cooler to see in some well done atmospheric animation than with marvel type CGI or whatever but i'm biased because i like animation as a medium a lot
that said. what do you people think if you could make one worm media real with assumed quality insurance what would you pick

TCF Prompt 18
AU- Brilliant Tears
--------
The Roan Kingdom and its surrounding Country's and Continents have been blessed with magic and abilities since the first group of heroes defeated the villain The White Star lead by the lost god of despair.
While many see these abilities as gifts, there are some who feel as if they are cursed instead. One such family was the Thames. Not only with the power to see ones lifelines, but when they shed tears out of pure grief and despair(and happiness/joy) said tears produce beautiful gems that hold the power of S-grade mana stones. Said gems drain away at the creators plate, wearing it down until it breaks.
These gems are sought by many. Not only for its power with mana, but for the enticing beauty the gems emit. The beauty of the Thames Family(some saying they were even more beautiful than Dragons) did not help in such matters. Making greedy, envious nobles and the like seek them out for horrible reasons.
When the head of the Thames family refused to give anymore to the kingdom and its people, after the loss of his wife due to perverted greed, half the family was killed and causing the survivors to go into hiding.
Many years later, Jour Thames married her childhood sweetheart, Deruth Henituse and having their precious child, Cale Henituse. One day, when Cale was just 8 years old, on the way back from a trip to Harris Village with his mother, the carriage was attacked and he and his mother were captured.
While it was at first an attempt for the Henituse wealth, once they saw tears form into gems any type of ransom was lost.
Cale went through many horrors no child should go through, being forced to cry over and over again in different ways, until he learned to control his emotions(much to their annoyance). When he finally escaped at the age of 15, he found himself on the Eastern Continent.
While on the run, he comes across a group lead by one Lee Soo Hyuk. While Cale was reluctant at first, LSH was quite insistent on Cale joining the group(seeing this thin, clearly abused kid, come out of nowhere put his protective big brother instincts on high alert. CJS didn't help any). Realizing he wouldn't give them his name, LSH(as his unofficial Hyung) give him the name Kim Rok Soo.
After only a year, KRS gets separated from the group that had become like a family to him, after a quest gone wrong. Thinking they all died, KRS escapes and is on his own once again. Luckily(or unluckily) KRS runs into someone who realizes who he is and forcing him all the way back to Rain City. Where his father and new family await.
The next few years until he is 18..were....somewhat blissful. Kim Ro-no Cale could finally rest and relax. Then a man named Choi Han shows up asking for aid. And its all downhill from there...well in Cale's mind anyway.
----------------
Cale and KRS are the same person
Jour dies protecting Cale, destroying her plate in the process.
Deruth never knew about the gems(he does eventually, and overprotective dad mode activates. He wishes he had known sooner.)
Cale, who originally had a strong plate, is now left with a very frail one. Because of this, he ends up going after certain ancient powers(who happen to be certain heroes of old, and are protective of their new wielder)
AP's are not widely used anymore, as ppl have their own abilities.
Cale/KRS has all his APs and earth abilities. To bad his plate is so brittle. Hello coughing up blood. Unlucky bastard - Eruhaben
Cale still gains his allies/found family and kids
LSH and the gang are still alive, and all eventually meet up again.
Everyone finds out what happened to him and his mother, and the Thames family gifts, thanks to a certain Sekka and Empire Prince(Alberu may more may not have killed Adin himself with a certain holy weapon...oops).
Too bad for them that he has overprotective dragons and family on his side.
Cale finally starts to heal along the way, and learns that its ok to show emotions and smile.
He eventually gifts his loved ones with a single gem, which they cherish more than anything.
Alberu figures out a way to give Cale and his mothers family an old type of protection that shields other nobles of trying to take advantage of their powers.
Cale does get his slacker life...eventually.
Cale is of course, super pretty, and his friends/family have to fend of a LOT of suiters. That Cale is oblivious too, oh dear.
Can have romance(AlbeCale, etc) if wanted.
Oh yea, a guy named Barrow was trying to be the next white star...didn't work out very well. Background plot?
The jewels helped somehow in defeating him and the sealed god maybe? a special power no one knew existed...hmm.

so, like, idk jack about the lore to kingdom hearts, but the idea of an mc who’s from the game tingles my brain a lot so i gotta dump this out
i’m gonna keep this vague enough so that ppl can interpret the mc however they please (whether we be besties with the beach trio or some other group)
but this idea would fit perfectly since the two are a collab of sorts with disney, only difference is how they use it. kingdom hearts is about traveling to other worlds, which are the disney movies. with twisted wonderland, everything takes place in one world
so imagine a keyblade wielder mc that somehow winds up in twisted wonderland while going from world to world. something happens and they aren’t able to go back, maybe they lost a bit of their powers or the gummi ship they were on is somewhere between the worlds. whatever the case, they’re stuck and now have to reside in the nrc because it’s just their luck that they land there
idk how much they can reveal because of that whole world order thing and they probs don’t trust anyone with outside information cause it’s a school of villains lmao
OH MY GOD AND THE MC WOULD KNOW THE TRUE NATURE OF THOSE GREAT SEVEN BECAUSE THEYVE WITNESSED THEM IRL LMFAO
they keep their mouth shut, tho, cause maybe it’s different for them. also, they do not want to be chased out for talking shit on them 🧍‍♀️
mc would feel so conflicted about the world and everyone there tho cause, like stated earlier, they got to witness the great seven’s actions in other worlds and with how the dorm leaders are inspired by said seven they’re just so cautious. but after riddle’s overblot they realize “oh shit they have actual issues” and everyone is actually kinda cool with enough time
the mc in this can still use their keyblade and some magic (if we’re going with the power loss route then i’m afraid your firagra has been reduced to just fire TwT) so they can chip in with the battles and show off how cool they are hehehe
OH OH AND EACH BATTLE THEY GET TO UPGRADE THEIR MAGIC AND SHIT!
mc getting thunder before azul fight: i’m going to shock the heart!
jade: ????
ooh it’d be so cool if every time the mc defeats an overblot they receive a new keyblade based on the dorm, just like how when we beat a world in kh we get a new keyblade based on it
oh god there’s gonna be so many questions from their peers when they see the keyblade. ace is gonna mock the shit out of you for it cause it’s just an oversized key (he shuts up real quick when you bonk him with it tho). it’s just such a unique weapon and the fact that you can summon it from nowhere?? slay
kalim would want to hold the weapon so badly and gets sad when it instantly materializes back into your hand lmao
idk much about lilia, but i think he’d know something about the keyblade and your origins when he sees it. he’s old, he probably knows something. might have had tea with young xehanort before he got old
vil asks to see your whole collection so he can rank them from most to least beautiful
ya know those wayfinders that aqua/kairi made for her friends as a way to show how even if they’re apart they’ll never lose each other or whatever? it’d be so cute if the mc did something like that for their friends :> (currently sobbing at the idea of drawing their faces on it like kairi did for sora 😭)
oh, poor mc would get bullied by ace for saying the corniest shit (“my friends are my power! 😜🤪”) but over time he grows to love these words so much, starts to tear up frfr
your constant reminders of the importance of friendships and how the bonds you all formed are unbreakable really does start to grow on everyone. (cater stan here: he also starts believing in this too cuz i said so <3) (CATER USES THE WAYFINDER YOU MADE AS A PJONE CHARM DUDE)
OH AND DONT THINK I FORGOT ABOUT SILVER
man looks so much like riku, there just has to be some interaction with him and the mc about it
mc, seeing a sleeping silver: god fucking damn it not again. plz don’t have yellow eyes, plz don’t have yellow eyes—
aaaaaaaa ok it’s past 12 a.m for me, my brain is a mess and my eyes want to get some shut eye so i’m gonna end this here. also, can’t think of more stuff to add :((
if anyone has more things they’d like to chip in, PLEASE do! i want more hcs and shit to add onto this idea of mine
