hi stormy, i hope youre doing well! ive recently started on yet Another read-thru of your home sweet home series. im in the double digits on how many times ive reread it lmao its one of my favorite fic series that ive read. thank you for sharing it with all of us and all the work that has gone into it 💛 right now im in the solstice arc(?) and times deadpan "im the startled homeowner" still gets me. also the poem/rhyme that starts this fic off as its chapter one is so good ive always loved that!! i also was curious, during the twisted truth or dare between time and wars, did you ever think about what happy solstice memory wars shared with the group? thanks again for the creative work you do; youre an incredibly skilled writer and one of my favorite authors to read; have a good one, stormy!

Good afternoon, anon, and thanks so much for the kind words!! This is the perfect time of year to reread the Solstice arc, isn't it.

Warriors usually has a subtle ulterior motive with his stories. He has high emotional intelligence; in the scene you mention, maybe he was originally intending to take Time down a potentially unpleasant line of questioning, but sensing the discomfort at the table he elected instead to take the conversation in a different direction.

He couldn't have shared any stories from the Guard without revealing Wild's secret, so maybe instead Wars opted to tell a story from his childhood. He grew up in a very nuclear-family situation in an affluent neighborhood, went to private schools, took private violin lessons, and so on. I bet their house was huge and decorated to professional-perfect standards. So the year that his mom accidentally wrapped one of his twin sister's gifts as his and vice-versa would have gone down in infamy.

Joke's on them, though. Wars privately wanted those fucking Uggs, and tomboy Linkle proudly declared that toy crossbow as hers forever.

How do you feel about that version of Sun who killed his Moon in today's TSAMS episode?

I think this is what Solstice wanted.

There's clearly some sort of ripple effect happening, where Suns are hating their Moons and taking action. Solstice wants every Sun to share his ideals, and he set everything up to reach this point.

It's why he recruited Nexus, it's why he let the others bring Moon back. He did all of this for our Sun, and for every Sun out there.

Solstice said it wouldn't have mattered if it was Nexus or Moon who died, he still got the data he needed because both were terrible people at one point in their lives.

And with recent events, I worry that Moon's retreating and isolating will have negative consequences and ruin the relationship with Sun he's trying to rebuild.

THE REASON FOR THE SEASON

I don't think I've posted this here before, but time for my favorite Christmas story!*

Once upon a time, every Winter Solstice, Odin Yulefather would ride though the sky on his eight-legged horse, Sleipnir.** Children would leave boots full of hay out for his horse, and Odin would repay them with sweets or small toys.

So that was a thing.

Also worth noting that the way you sacrifice to Odin is you hang people and animals from huge trees. But maybe you don't want to actually do that anymore. Because, you know, human sacrifice is kind of a lot. Maybe you just want a small tree, one you can hang effigies of people and animals from. Or maybe just little round balls that aren't technically severed heads. Plus, while you're at it you can move it inside the house! And hey, you can still have green, white, and red be your solstice colors without thinking of pools of blood on the snow under an evergreen.

Anyway, Happy Yule!

*DISCLAIMER: There's some scholarly debate about this stuff, and I'm sure there're professors out there who'll take issue with this, but it's a good story, so who cares?

Does no one else find it odd that magic that had been inhibited by the Malleus Key keeps being slowly and quietly returned with seemingly no changes to the key itself? Is the Solstice still stuck or is it simply progressing very slowly? Is anyone working on this in Exandria? Can we get some answers about this?

anyone else have people continuously make wildly incorrect assumptions about you because of your interests? for me as a queer medievalist, irish speaker, and folk musician, it's a) that people expect me to be interested in ttrpgs and i really really am not, and b) that they often think i'll be interested in more mystical/magical/superstitious things and i'm also really not that, i'm a deeply unmystical cynic who is at best vaguely agnostic towards a "cosmic force" kind of godconcept and doesn't vibe with personified god(s) of any variety

i do my best to be polite about both misinterpretations but boy sometimes people project their expectations onto you hard and by the time you've realised that they've fundamentally misunderstood your personality it can be pretty awkward to be like "i'm sorry but you have mistaken me for an entirely different genre of person"

Opinion on Sun x Eclipse x Solar please?

UHH WHERE TO START?

Mainly I already love all the ships that have to do with Solar or Eclipse LOL but with Sun? Yes, baby, give love and kisses to that Sun, he deserves it.

Solar and Eclipse are literally the balance that Sun needs in his life: Solar is calm, calculating and knows how to handle various situations without getting stressed - Eclipse is more aggressive, thinks out loud, sometimes acts on impulse, and doesn't hold his tongue when it comes to telling the truth. All that added to Sun's nervousness and calm/happy nature is the perfect combination.

Besides, It would be funny to see Solar and Eclipse have a staring contest while they fight over who of the two is Sun's best partner (Sun kisses them both to avoid a fight and they immediately melt). It's like having two feral cats in your living room but one behaves better than the other LMAO

I also love this because it means that Solar, despite what happened with his Sunny, still gave himself the opportunity to love and be loved by another Sun, probably still has a great fear of losing this one too, but it's something that They can solve it together. And it means that Eclipse and Sun finally gave each other the opportunity to talk and reconcile with each other, Sun understood that this new eclipse was not the one that had caused him so much pain despite sounding and looking the same. I feel like they would both try to deny their feelings at first, but eventually they couldn't take it anymore and would fall into each other's arms.

I can't help but see Solar and Eclipse as two cats fighting XD but they are those cats that fight and then they are grooming each other and sleeping together JAJA

He’s dressed as Sweeney Todd. They’re all a mix of character cosplay and iconic British music figures. Sam is Freddie Mercury, Ashley is Bonnie Tyler (with Yasha elements), Liam is Sid Vicious, Marisha is Adam Ant (with Beau’s sashes). I’m not sure about Taliesin or Laura (Laura kinda looks like she’s cosplaying her own pastel goth look from the last (I think?) MN live show, and Taliesin looks more like his sexy Ben Franklin from the VMxMN battle royale than anything else to me), and Travis looks to be straight Fjord.

yes it's very interesting. almost as if sjm made the deliberate choice to have their relationship shift after the night his bonus chapter takes place. it's almost like she was telling us to look and pay attention to how they act around each other, even without the bonus chapter... for whatever reason 🤭
