Propaganda below the cut!
Solomon "Doc" Saturday
He's buff. He's a scientist. He cares about animals and the environment. He loves his wife, his son, and the three Literal Cryptids that they've adopted. He went blind in one eye protecting his son. His son turns out to be the reincarnation of an evil god and he's like "Okay. He's still my son and I still love him. We just have to get the evil god out of him." He's snarky. He's trying to corral his wife away from doing insane shit, except for the rare occasions where he's the one doing insane shit. He and his wife have an ongoing science vs mysticism debate that affects every mission they go on.
Uncle Jim
he got bankrupted by his ex boyfriend's parents (ex died and the bank account was in the name of the ex) and had to build his life up from scratch. hes raising his 17 year old nephew for atleast 7 years because his sister did want to be a parent. he has bills to pay but can barely make ends meet. hes the sweetest man on the planet. he famously said 'why do you have to be gay? is it not enough to be poor?' while pursuing a guy he has a one night stand with (its famous because HES gay, hes had to fight his mildly homophobic sister about it and is estranged from her - while raising her child at her request) he nearly got punched by a pretty boy loser of a banker guy (ex bf of one night stand guy). one person is introduced as someone with a long time crush on jim and he turns him down by calling him a Good Kid. the actor for this character is 29 so its a fandom belief that hes probably at most 32 and Dramatique TM. he has so much game. the end scene of the show is him pulling one night stand by his id card, whispering dirty things in his ears and then BITING the lobe. mostest tierdest gay of the neighbourhood, we love uncle jim (additional info with no joke whatsoever because that would be soooo rude and inappropriate - jim in thai slang means pussy, which is the name of this gay elder who everyone in 1km radius wants to fuck. do what you will with this addition)
He's got two young twinks fighting over him. Is like in his late 30s but acts like he's way older. Tells one of the guys who has been in love with him for years that he's a good kid. Dick so good that he got a guy to work for him for free for like a year before he finally acknowledged that they could potentially get together (they only fucked once at the very start). Tells his gay nephew that lives with him that he shouldn't be gay since he's already poor.

Ok I know I'm either definitely younger or didn't watch the same cartoons.
Who is Zak Saturday?
ZAK SATURDAY MY BELOVED
Zak is the protagonist of a series called The Secret Saturdays! It's a fantastic show that aired on Cartoon Network but didn't get much attention so I will plug it when I can!
Zak is an 11 year old boy who travels with his parents who are Cryptozoologists. But ofc all the Cryptids are ya know. Real. Zak also has the power to control/influence Cryptids.
His parents are Drew and Solomon 'Doc' Saturday and they're beautiful I love them they love each other so much absolute battle couple and scientific nerds.
The family also has a few Cryptids in it. There's Fisk, the Fiskerton Phantom, Komodo, a genetically-altered komodo dragon, and Zon who is some kinda Pterosaur. Those three kinda exist in a funky 'are they sapient or just intelligent pets?' thing.
Only other family member is Drew's little brother Doyle who she thought was dead but they run into each other and it's a mess but ultimately good!
(Well that's not if you don't count their evil counterparts from a Mirror Dimension as 'Family')
The Saturdays are part of a group called The Secret Scientists who study weird phenomenon. Cryptids, aliens, quantum physics, etc.
Our villain! Say a hearty greetings and bienvenue to V. V. Argost! The charismatic host of tv show Weird World where he shows off and educates the people about Cryptids! But he's an evil bastard with a hell of a kill count who wants to resurrect a Cryptid God called Kur that has the power to control Cryptids use their power to take over the world.
The Secret Saturdays had a crossover epsiode with Ben 10: Omniverse, though they seem to be in similar Times so by this point Zak is 16.

Let's hear them secret scientist headcannons, Ma. Pretty please 🙏🥺
huehuheuheuhwlhbsjhbclah~ y’all know what it is, mostly rambling I wrote most of this waiting for the dentist lol
Drew (Audrey do not call her that omg Saturday)
Mama’s albino. Isee it with my eyes and just feel it in my bones. She’s pale, her hair is pale, I she even had baby blues in TGIS so, yeah.
Drew isn’t a huge fan of chocolate, opposites since Mom Monday had a thing for cocoa. Maybe she doesn’t have a thing for sweets in general? Like I can see Drew as more of a FoodSnack person rather than SweetSnack person. She’ll be like, “I want a snack,” And spend like 2 hours prepping the stuff for a food item that will be gone in 20 minutes and somehow, she’ll find a way to convince Doc to “help” with the cleanup after.
She always wanted a big family, But only managed to have Zak. She loves her family regardless, it's just not the way she thought they'd be. I mean, come on; Her and Doc are so romantic all the time, like there’s no way they woulda stopped at just one. If she could have given Zak a sibling, she would have, but it wasn’t in the cards. So, adoption, lmao.
My girl is a mystic through and through but she is not mystically inclined. She could tear out her hair and make a deal with the devil, and still not be able to conjure her own magic at all, but she is so well versed in it, you’d think she was a sorcerer or something. (Maybe she could, oh I dunno, help her magical buddies out with that know-how, huh?)
Doc “Solomon” Saturday
My guy has some serious PTSD and OCD issues that he hasn’t quite sorted out, and I’ll bet he’s scared to go into it given all the times he’s started talking about it, only to immediately shut himself up about it.
Like, seriously, my man needs a therapist.
I’m laughing and wringing my hands together like Argost himself thinking about all the fun times we’re gonna have with mr. Magic Doesn’t Exist now that he’s gotta help his new Angel Daughter find her friends. Sorry Solomon, but you’re gonna have an aneurysm.
Doyle Blackwell  **Professional Uncle
Such a cool dude, he can’t drink alcohol because he’s too cool to get buzzed (he's allergic to alcohol and will turn beet red after one drink help this poor man)
I get a lot of, “I dont deserve an apartment,” vibes from this guy so I say he needs more “Chillin at home with the fam,” And less “Shitty hostels wherever the cheapest.” Also man needs a gf (or bf, ffs nobody want him fr!!11!)
He's bi, and I know cuz he told me lmao
Paul Cheechoo (Uncle Bear!👏🏼 Uncle Bear! 👏🏼Uncle Bear!👏🏼)
Okokokokok, so I am super super projecting here because Cheechoo deadass reminds me of an uncle who is A.) also native af, we’re not Inuit but were fuckin n8v; and B.) also a fuckin geologist lesgoooooo
So guys got a big family, huge actually. Lots of cousins and nieces and nephews and aunties and uncles and such- making it a bit hard and a bit sad keeping the whole Secret Scientist thing away from his family. Especially after the Weird world incident when he became withdrawn from them, fearing Argost might do something horrible to his kin. So, he kept mostly to himself, confiding only in his fellow scientists.
I feel like his sarcasm and friendly demeanor is so sweet and endearing, especially for someone so friggin big, I mean good god- Look at this man. The friendly giant trope always gets me, so what? BUT! That being said, I’d like to think that sometimes my guy forgets how big he is… Like, we’ve seen how this guy gets tossed around like a ragdoll, maybe he also forgets he’s a brick shithouse, given all the times he’s gotten his ass whooped.
Man is Golden Retriever coded, and I wanna eat him alive for it./pos
Arthur Fuckin Beeman
My man! *kills him again and again and again and again an-*
Also, I love how we all saw this man, we all looked at each other, and we all said, “Yeah, he's autistic af.” Like, it's very clear that this man’s brain works… differently from others.
My brother once said, Liaos from Dungeon Meshi if he didn’t want to eat the aliens he just wanted to hang out and honestly…. Werk.
Does this man deserve an arc? Not really, but do I wanna put him in a few fucked up situations? Hang him upside down and shake him till all his tokens fall out? Maybe. Maybe Zak’ll help me, too. Shit…
Miranda Grey (Big Grey)
Ooooooohohohohohohohohoooo~ We hardly got anything with you, Doctor. Which means I can do whatever, and I both hate and love that-
I know you love your sister~ I know you’re sad about her betrayal~~ I know you’re hurting, girly, I know your devastated inside and you can’t do anything about it because so much shit is falling apart around you and now your sister fucked over the only people you can call friends, fuck you Miranda! Eat shit and die! ILY!!
I reeeeeeaaaaly think she’s guilty about what she’s done to the Saturdays, especially Zak, so maybe she might try and say or do something to try and make amends, but how? Thats a good question… I wanna know too, lmao.
Abbey Grey (Little Grey)
Ooooooooooooooooh~~~
I have plans for you, stupid bitch……
Agent Ex husband
The scariest mfer in all existence, most stifled man in all existence, omg. If War were ever made a fucking human, Epsilon would be his fate, and holy fuck- Yeah. Stoic? Check. Bound by a strict code of ethics/honor? Check. Big As Shit? Check. Scary????? Umm, yeah. My mans a Horseman.
Wants to be loved. Wants to rest. Wants to have a cigarette for the first time in years. Wants some coffee with extra cream and sugar. Does he deserve it? No,not really. But he does need it. His soul needs a good kneading, like dough.
However, he is fucked up for the way he raised Francis and how he’s always shutting hom down and telling him how his thoughts don’t matter like, damn, just tell the boy he aint shit why dont you-
I feel like, if I give Francis an arc, Epsilon should have one too. I wanna know more about him- surprise surprise- and what makes him tick. We see in the show that there is some care for Francis, we see as much when he gets so mad at Francis for not quickly following his instructions, but that begs the question; does he actually care, or is he protecting his interests, so to speak? Lots to learn, lots to pick apart.

💟:OTP!
💟:OTP! (TSS) 👏Doc👏&👏Drew!👏 One of the best married couples I’ve seen in a cartoon. They’re fun, they’re adorable, they clearly love each other but still have reasonable arguments, their playful banter, it’s just all ticks the boxes and I love them forever! They feel so real and it’s not hard to see why they ended up together, and they’re such great parents too, who support each other and their kids. Power couple 100%. For my second OTP, that would be Zak and Franics. I’ve always loved their dynamic and story in the show, even if they didn’t show up together often, and there was so much you could do with them, romantic or not. I’ve always found the idea of them dating being some both adorable and hilarious, because their relationship would be quite interesting to see, with Zak being one who understands love and emotions better than Francis, who tries to act cool ad calm all the time, yet would most likely fumble the moment Zak tries to flirt with him and it’s great to think about, haha. But the idea of Zak also teaching him about love in general, not just romantic, is also sweet to think about, giving Francis a life he never thought he could have.  I would also like to note that Zak is 100% the top dog in that relationship, even if he doesn’t openingly show it, just like his mother lol.

It's been awhile, but I've finally made 2 new entries into the CN Tributes Collection! This first one is for one of my favorite, highly overlooked shows, The Secret Saturdays! It's a lot different than I originally envisioned, but I decided to draw everyone in a more impressionistic art style. I was kinda worried drawing the cryptids, but all that practice drawing Pokemon has made it a lot easier for me to draw animals.

also while doc himself is probably not very religious (despite his growing up in the deep south, it just seems too contrary to his "science" side of the science v. mysticism debate between him and his wife) his family has a long history of biblical names (solomon and the samuel named in the prequel comics), so zak's name was probably chosen as a continuation of that trend. personally i really like the idea of it being spelled zakarya/zakkarya, though in any case i imagine his full name is some spelling variation on zechariah rather than zacharie. it means "god has remembered," which is either quite fitting or quite ironic, depending on your point of view...
addendum: doyle and drew both have irish names and doyle's etymology is "descendent of black strangers (referring to scandinavians)" while drew's is "descendent of the druids" (you kind of have to search for the irish drew etymology, since there's an english meaning of "manly" which...also yeah). it's just neat that they went through the trouble of giving the siblings names with matching etymologies.
it's also neat that the germanic origin for the name "drew" can possibly be words for ghost/phantom or "to bear, carry", especially in relation to zak. solomon's name was probably chosen with relation to the lesser key of solomon, which is a grimoire on demonology, which is kind of like what doc does for a living anyway. solomon on its own means "peace."

Maybe a Secret Saturday and DP crossover with the Fenton's being approached to join the Secret Scientists. The parents are quickly deemed too biased against ghosts to join until further notice. Their kids, on the other hand. The son's not quite a scientist, but he has potential. And their daughter would be perfect.
“Remind me why I’m doing this again?”
Doc gave Zak a look.  “Because the Secret Scientists need new members.  Potential members need to be screened by existing members.  And the Fentons have kids your age.”
Zak raised a skeptical eyebrow.  “I don’t exactly get along with ‘kids my age.’”  It was true.  Ulraj and Wadi were exceptions to the rule, and even interactions with them had been rough at first.  It had been four years since he met them, and they were still just about his only friends.
Zak just didn’t do ‘normal’ very well.  Sure, he could integrate himself into a group for the sake of information gathering, but that usually didn’t last very long.  Thirty minutes, tops.
“I know,” said Doc.  “But sometimes people will say things to and around kids that they wouldn’t otherwise, and we want to be thorough.  Make sure we’re inviting ethical people.  No more Abbies.”
“I guess that makes sense,” said Zak.  He sighed.  He knew Fisk wouldn’t be able to come.  Most of the time, they were able to get away with people assuming he was a guy in a suit, or just ignoring him in favor of much more obvious, more immediately dangerous cryptids, but that wouldn’t be something they could get away with when it came to prolonged contact.
It never seemed fair to Fisk.
(Cryptids always seemed to get the short end of the stick.  Even the ones who were as intelligent as any human.)
“You don’t have to be friends with them,” said Doc, putting a hand on Zak’s shoulder.  “Just like we don’t have to accept the Fentons into the Secret Scientists...  But give it a chance?”
“Okay,” said Zak, shrugging.  “A chance.”
.
Danny loved his parents.  They loved him.  He knew that they were brilliant scientists who had made incredible breakthroughs in a difficult and poorly regarded field.  They deserved recognition and funding.  They had no colleagues with whom to correspond or test ideas with.  They had no real friends.  They deserved that, too.
All in all, Danny thought they deserved the position in the think tank that was about it interview them.
But Danny felt sick at the idea of them spreading their biased and hateful theories about ghosts to yet another group.  He hated the very thought of even more people, more scientists, more people who were trying to do good in the world, calling him and the other ghosts evil just because of the way they existed.
But he didn’t know how to stop it.  Not without revealing himself, and he was too much of a coward to do that.
... Maybe he could convince their kid he was a jerk?
Ugh, no.  As inconsiderate as he could be unintentionally, he was incapable of being a jerk on purpose.  Unless the person deserved it.
(Jazz had once theorized that it had to do with his ghostly Obsession of helping others.  Danny theorized that not all aspects of his personality had to do with him being a ghost.  Jazz had dropped the theory shortly thereafter.)
He was worried.
Could pull a Harry Potter and drop a cake on someone’s head.  Would that work?
Unlikely.
There was one option, but it was a bit of a longshot.  He could tell the interviewers that he had doubts about his parents’ work and conclusions.  But would they believe him?  He was just a teenager.  Easy to dismiss.
What if he approached them as Phantom?
(What if they were just as gun-happy as his parents?)
This was hard.
He sighed, and swung himself off his bed.  Regardless of what he actually did, he needed to make himself ‘presentable,’ otherwise he’d never hear the end of it.
Although, concerning his appearance and his secrets...  He tugged lightly on the lock of gray hair he’d sprouted lately.  It had become a nervous habit.  One he really needed to stop, because drawing attention to white hair on his head was not something he wanted to do.
Maybe be should start dying his hair?
“Danny?” called Maddie from downstairs.  “The Saturday’s are here!  Come on down!”
Danny clattered down the stairs, being loud on purpose (the better to be undetected when he wanted to be quiet).
The Saturdays...  Huh.  Danny had not expected to ever see another family wearing jumpsuits.  Much less orange jumpsuits.  Jack looked overjoyed.
The Saturdays’ jumpsuits looked just slightly more combat ready, however.  Danny’s stomach, which had already been sitting rather low in his chest, plummeted.
He did not foresee this going well in any way, shape, or form.
He forced himself to turn his attention towards the son.  Who was color coordinated with his parents, but not, thankfully, wearing a jumpsuit.
(Interestingly, he did, however, appear to be armed.)
“Hi,” said Danny, waving slightly in greeting.
“This is our son, Danny,” said Maddie.  “Our daughter, Jazz, is at a study group right now, but she should be home before too long.  Danny, this is Doctor Solomon Saturday, his wife, Drew, and their son, Zak.”
Zak smiled at Danny in a slightly strained, awkward way.  His teeth were just a little sharper than human average.  There were flecks of orange and gold in his eyes.
This was a person who wasn’t quite human.
Maybe this would be easier than Danny thought.  He tugged on his lock of white hair.  “Prematurely grey buddies, huh?” he said.
“Oh,” said Zak, touching his own, much larger, tuft of white hair.  “Yeah.  I guess so.”
“Um,” said Danny, acutely aware of all the parental eyes on him.  “Video games?”
“Sure,” said Zak.
“Great,” said Danny.  “Let’s go.”
.
Zak followed Danny upstairs.
He was 99% certain the other boy wasn’t entirely human.  He wasn’t sure if it was simply intuition, or some remnant of his Kur powers, but he would put money on it.  If, well, he had anyone who’d bet with him.
(Doyle, maybe, but Doyle wasn’t here.)
(Where had this intuition been with Argost?  That’s what he wanted to know.)
“So,” said Danny, rocking slightly.  “Do you play Doom?”
“Now and then,” said Zak.  “Kinda prefer older games.”
“How old?”
“Uh...  I kind of like the pokemon games on the 64?”
“Oh, yeah, I’ve got a couple of those,” said Danny.  “Um.”  He flopped down in a beanbag chair.  “Just... make yourself at home, I guess?”
“Thanks,” said Zak, managing to catch the controller Danny tossed at him and sitting in the desk chair.
“So...” said Danny, not making a move to turn on the system.  “This is going to be weird to ask, but, um.  Do your parents know you’re not totally human?”
Zak stared.  He... hadn’t expected Danny to be able to tell that he had been Kur, much less come right out and ask him about it.
“Or...  you know what, forget I said anything.  It’s just a joke, haha, so, games-”
“Do yours know?”
Danny frowned.  “That you’re not human?”
“No, that you aren’t human.”
Danny looked away.  “No,” he said, fiddling with the controller.  “They’re not... very good about that kind of stuff.  If your parents are, that’s good.  It’s just...”  He rubbed the cord of the controller between his fingers.  “Mom and Dad are great at the technical side of things, but they don’t like being wrong.  And they think ghosts are unfeeling and mindless, so...”
“Oh,” said Zak.  “Um.  Are you,” he stopped, realizing that asking someone if they were dead was probably not a great idea.  He slumped down in his seat.  “I’ll tell my parents.”
“Yeah, if you could not tell them about me and just, like, the other bit, that’d be great.”
“I can do that,” said Zak.
.
Jazz carefully placed an envelope under the windshield wiper of the Saturdays’ car.  Knowing her brother, he was probably going to try something dramatic, but if these people were serious about being scientists, she was sure they would take evidence and data regarding the intelligence of ghosts much better.
And Danny had thought he was just humoring her when he helped her interview those ghosts!  Thought she had no other motives other than curiosity!
Well.  Honestly, he was right.  Back then, she didn’t know there was a think tank considering inviting her parents to join.
But, hey, it came in handy, didn’t it?
.
“It’s such a shame,” said Drew, writing her recommendation against the Fentons joining the Secret Scientists.  “They seemed like such nice people.”
“Yeah, but if both their kids are telling us they shouldn’t be let in,” said Zak, “and they don’t even know about the Secret Scientists, they think you’re just part of a think tank, how nice can they really be?”
Drew made a face, and reached over to give Zak a quick hug, which he just as quickly escaped.
“The daughter, though,” said Doc.  “She has a good foundation, here, with her research.”
“Maybe once she graduates high school,” said Drew.  “We have scholarships, don’t we?  Or maybe an internship...  Cryptid psychology might interest her...”
“What about Danny?” asked Zak, yelping as Fisk snuck up behind him and poked him.
“Hrrade hhr hrend?” said Fisk, slyly.
Zak narrowed his eyes.  “Maybe,” he said.
“We’ll keep an eye on them,” promised Doc.  “All the Fentons.  Just in case.”
