really liking fields of mistria's approach to romance so far. it's very reactive and reciprocal. i invited hayden to the star festival, now he flirts with and gets shy around my character. i expected there to be a few lines of flavor text the following day, the fact that whoever you invite develops a crush on your character is so cute. the game is tagged as a dating sim on steam, i'm glad the devs seem to be leaning into that.

Okay hold, when Fearne was messing with Essek while he was asleep (? not quite asleep?), she rolled a 9 sleight of hand, and Matt said that Essek just barely noticed it.

Can someone who understands D&D mechanics better than me help me figure out Essek’s wisdom score might be? Is his passive perception 10? Or was he asleep and so Matt was ruling him at disadvantage (and do you think Matt was using a -5 for that like the sources say? or halved like he was ruling last episode?) I also don’t know how one calculates passive perception from the base wisdom score, so I have no chance or reverse engineering that.

But I really want to know if Essek is as high int, low wis as we’ve all been joking he is.

I dislike takes that Danse would be just as conservative in modernized aus when it's clearly shown his staunch views of things come from his time in the Brotherhood and his deep-rooted desire to belong to something with a greater purpose.

Not to mention lines that show much more open-mindedness that get overlooked for his harsher sentiments when you first meet him. Like the oppurtunity to be a part of something is why Danse fell so far into Brotherhood dogma and it doesn't negate the offense things he does but I feel like it's just lazy to be like "hmmm he'd def be racist" just so it aligns to his BoS beliefs.

The thing abut metal gear lore that bothers me the most is still the clone shit in mgs1.

How do other people interpret the "dominant twin/recessive twin" and the twist that David is actually the one who got all the "recessive genes"? Like, what the fuck did they mean by that?

Like, what the hell does that even mean to begin with?? They took all of BB's recessive hets and manipulated them to be homo for one of the kids? Like?? That's not a clone then and also why?? Isn't the point to recreate Big Boss??

As for the twist, it's visibly not true because Eli is blonde...? That's the only visible difference between him and solid. Did daddy John Doe just happen to have extremely low heterozygosity??? Why make this specific design choice if it goes against the twist? Was Eli's hair color backwards engineered from the Master Miller twist and given no extra thought? (probably, yes.)

Does Kojima know what a recessive gene is? (probably not.)
