Sol's death ruined me like actually. I never post original stuff on this blog but I have to ramble.
"because i lo-" just as osha chokes him. Like it's been there this entire time that he views osha like a daughter, even if the jedi code forbids him from admitting this. He says as much to jecki in episode one. Like throughout the show we saw these little moments where he disagrees with their ways and their coverups, just a little bit, but ultimately he never did anything. In some ways because he wanted to "protect" osha but in a lot of ways he believes and trusts the order entirely. Like this is the group he serves and he knows nothing outside of it and it's so. He's not in the right about these things, at all, but he fears what he doesn't understand, as do most. It's a battle for power in an order where you must limit your uncontrollable feelings. God I love complex characters.
The fact he finally admits all of this in a moment of desperation but ultimately it was too late. His silence and compliance led to his demise in the end and at the hands of the girl he thought of as his daughter. All these things he did because he thought he was protecting her, because he loved her, only caused her to hate him. His mistakes and wrongdoings and fear piled up and caused that special bond he formed with osha over the years to come crumbling down in seconds. it's so tragic and ough i need to walk into the ocean.
It's similar in some ways to the scene from tfa where ben kills han but imo this was more tragic. Kylo was already on the dark side in tfa so it just didn't have quite the same impact. Like, bffr we knew Kylo wad not gonna turn we have a whole trilogy ahead of us. Most of the tragedy came from seeing a beloved character die. And while his death at the hands of his son is tragic in itself, it's only tragic for Han. For Kylo, it primarily demonstrates how far gone to the dark side he is, because this is the first movie of three we haven't worked through all the kylo development yet.
But the acolyte scene HITS. Osha having the vision earlier that Mae will kill Sol, but we know Mae and Osha are the same person. It's not looking good from that point but there's room for doubt. Osha isn't going to turn that far, right? Then we see the twins fight, the change of costumes, Mae changing her desires from revenge to justice. It's not looking good. Osha immediately giving into her anger and hatred as soon as the truth comes out. That bond she had for 16 years means nothing to her anymore, she lets herself give in and she takes the life of her father figure just before he can finally tell her he loves her. Sol paid the price with his lies and now doesn't get to tell Osha the truth. He never went against code so he dies by it. They're just two flawed individuals whose actions cost their love.
Ily tragic family <3

common grounds (oshamir) - chapter 3
Pairing: Osha Aniseya x Qimir "The Stranger"
A/N: Dividers by @firefly-graphics
series masterlist
chapter 3: switch-up
“Osha!”
Vernestra waited until she made eye contact to turn around and walk into her office. The summoning was clear to all who heard it. The Temple wasn’t exactly known for its subtlety.
“Go,” Jecki said. “I’ve got this handled, and your shift ended ten minutes ago anyway.”
Osha set down the rag she’d been using and dusted off her hands before leaving the cafe. The steel stairs to the second story shook with every step, and she wondered if there would ever be another feeling than dread that accompanied the ascent each time she made it. Vernestra was already at her desk by the time Osha knocked on the doorframe.
“Come in. Close the door, please.” This can’t be good.
Still, Osha did as she was told, and gingerly sat in the worn, padded chair in front of the desk. “Is something wrong?”
“You know Temple membership doesn’t have a non-compete clause. Members are allowed to train wherever they like. But the fact of the matter is that there have been… rumors.”
“What?”
“Rumors that you’ve been out with… less-than-reputable trainers in the city. But you should know that dipping into other forms of martial arts will only weaken your mastery in the boxing ring. I’d hate to see your injury flare again for a quick moment of feeling cool or flashy.”
Indignation flared. “Ma’am, I don’t know what you’re talking about; I only train here.”
Vernestra held up a hand, shaking her head. “This isn’t a write-up or a reprimand. You’re in a… unique position at the gym, with Sol being your father. Perception is vital in these cases, especially with competition season approaching. If we can’t show unity in force, then we may as well communicate to our competitors that we don’t stand as one.”
“But I’m not training anywhere else! I’m not even in competition anymore!”
“This isn’t a discussion, Osha. This is me letting you know that if you’re going to go behind the Temple’s back, at least do us the courtesy of being a little more discreet about it. You may go.”
“I’m—”
“You may go.”
Confusion warred with her rising emotions, making her feel a little off-balance. “I love the Temple,” Osha said weakly, but Vernestra had already started working on something else, ignoring her. Seeing that she wouldn’t be listened to, she teetered out of the office and back down the stairs.
Osha didn’t understand. Her entire life, she’d only trained at the Temple. She wanted nothing more than to follow Sol’s example—become a decorated boxing champion, a beloved and respected trainer, someone wise and good and dedicated to their passions. She’d struggled to find satisfaction in committing to boxing and boxing only, but she’d never been accused of training elsewhere.
“Everything alright?” Jecki asked once Osha emerged from around the corner.
“Yeah, I… Jecki, do you train anywhere else in the city?”
“That’s a random question.” Jecki shook her head. “I mean, sure, here and there, when everyone’s traveling for competition, or there are free skill clinics. Why?”
“And you’ve never been told you shouldn’t do that?”
Her brow furrowed. “No. There’s a lot to learn about boxing anywhere.”
“Even though you already have a mentor here?”
“Not even Sol has all the answers. He doesn’t like admitting it.” Jecki gave her a wry smile. “He knows the Temple isn’t the only gym in the city, but he generally turns a blind eye to it. Are you sure you’re alright?”
“Yeah, I’m fine,” Osha said with a sigh. “It was just a miscommunication, but… yeah, I should probably stop working so late all the time anyway. Maybe that’s what happened.”
“I’ll keep Yord away from Huyang today for you.”
“Thanks, Jecki. See you later.”
“Bye!”
Osha walked straight into a gust of bitingly cold air the second she left the cafe. Wrapping her coat tighter around herself, she let her thoughts drift like the snow the whole way home. She didn’t want to go back to the gym today, not after that strange encounter with Vernestra, but she still had a lot of that restless energy to work off.
The apartment complex had a really nice gym, complete with a heated indoor pool and a sauna. Walking between buildings in the freezing weather soaking wet after a swim sounded about as appealing as tumbling down three flights of stairs, so strength training it was. She changed in the small bathroom and put her headphones in to start a circuit on the machines, idly noting the single swimmer doing laps in the pool. Insanity. At least his shoulders look nice going by.
The burn in her upper arms and shoulders overtook the listless confusion that had plagued her since she left Vernestra’s office a half hour ago. She added more weight, relishing in the prolonged high. When it came time to work on her calves, she halted.
I’m sure you still have your old PT records, follow those exercises about thirty minutes a day.
Osha didn’t like sitting still. She had no patience to hold a plank or a wall sit for ten minutes. Her post-op physical therapist had been less than enthused by her insistence on doing reps, not holds. Sol didn’t like seeing her sit still, either. When Osha got back into boxing after everything, he’d worry about her holding a stretch for too long. He only thought she’d recovered when he saw her running again, seven months after surgery. The sense of familial camaraderie between her and him had been worth every agonizing step.
But the pain in her ankle had been flaring lately, and she still felt a worrying amount of weakness whenever she moved too fast. She couldn’t trust her body to take care of her, at least not how she used to.
Understand where your pain is. Numbing yourself to it only hides it when you’re trying to get rid of it.
Ugh. That damn stranger wouldn’t leave her mind. Still, she wanted to know if he had a point.
After going through her email archive to find her PT notes, she chose a few to try out. And if they felt silly, at least nobody would see her. The lone swimmer looked absorbed in his exercise, lost in his own world behind the glass separating the gym from the pool. Still, Osha closed her eyes and let herself rise up onto her toes, holding a calf raise for a thirty-count.
It burned deeper in her muscles than what the machines or the classes did for her. It set in faster, and by 25, 26, 27, the pain in her left ankle almost had her tapping early. But she finished the count. She sank back onto her heels, hissing at the redoubled ache in her Achilles. “Shit,” she said in a breathless laugh. She reached down to rub at the skin on either side of the purple surgery scar, and when she stood up again—
The swimmer was coming out of the water.
The stranger was coming out of the water.
He didn’t notice her, which was good because she was basically ogling him as he left the pool. In her opinion, the baggy hoodies had done the world a great disservice. The bare glimpse of the man’s forearm the night they met was enough to send her head spinning if she thought about it too long, but looking at the rest of him threatened to upend her entire world.
His shoulders held strength to them that felt evident even from a distance, even behind a pane of sweaty glass. That strength, by comparison, made Osha’s already weak knees weaker. The luscious curve of his wet biceps and triceps—fighter’s arms—caught the light the way her breath caught in her throat.
Not even the unflattering fluorescent bulbs would dare betray his muscle tone, making him look god-like down to the hollow of his throat and the shadows beneath his defined pectorals. Was it getting hotter in here? Droplets of water continued to cascade down every dip and valley of his body, pulling her focus down, down, those were his hips, and holy fuck she needed to remember how to breathe—
“Your rest is over; up on your toes again.” His voice came out a little warped and tinny through the glass, but it was definitely him. Osha startled at being caught, going up on her toes instinctually at his instruction. She met his eyes through the glass, finding him grinning at her. “Thirty-count, Osha.”
He walked off to the side where she couldn’t see him, and it was like all of the air finally returned to the room from where he stole it. It took all her willpower to hold the position, and through that effort she found she wasn’t worried at all about the situation. She saw the amenities access band on his wrist—he was a resident just like her.
28, 29—
“Down.”
Her breath left her in a rush as she dropped to her heels, turning to face him. She hadn’t even heard the door open. His stealth wasn’t a slight on her awareness; he could get under any radar and stay there. “I didn’t know you lived here.”
“Suppose we were following each other home last night.” His dark eyes dipped down her body and back up in a second. It filled her blood with fire. “I thought that was you when you walked in. Couldn’t really see with my head in the water.”
“I couldn’t tell it was you.”
“Yeah, well. I don’t often practice backstroke.” He shrugged and drifted closer. He’d put on black shoes, loose black pants, and a white shirt. It looked entirely too casual for the gym—better suited for lounging around a seaside resort or something. But he wore it all comfortably. These clothes didn’t swallow him up the way the hoodie did. She could still see his defined muscles through the shirt. “How’s your ankle feeling?”
“It burns a little.”
“One to ten?”
“Like a four? Maybe?”
“Is it a four, or is it not?” His assertive, no-nonsense voice felt like touching a static-charged doorknob. She stood up straighter. “What’s your usual level of pain?”
“Isn’t that kind of a personal question? I mean, we’re basically strangers.”
He crossed his arms and leaned back against the nearest machine. “Well, I suppose there’s two options, then. You either tell me to fuck off, or you ask me whatever questions you have to assuage your doubts about me.”
Tension rose in the space between them. Those two words, crass and short, sat comfortably on her tongue like always. Fuck off. Even if those chance meetings were simply coincidence, Osha was certain that if she told him to leave her alone, he would. With how he’s carefully controlling his face, he doesn’t want her to know just how dismayed he’d be if she told him to fuck off. The bare flicker of tenderness in his eyes is what sealed her decision.
“I’ve been at a four daily since the snow started falling. It’s maybe two points higher now since I started exercising.”
His lips curled into a smile, and so did hers.
“Your rest is over, Osha. Up on your toes.”
He was patient. He angled himself beside her to see the list of exercises her PT team had prescribed to her, reading off her phone. He murmured through explanations of the movements she’d suffered the monotony of, and made them sound interesting. This close, she could see how his hair still slightly dripped from the pool, darkening the white of his shirt whenever droplets dove into it.
And when she did the exercises for him, his focus never wavered. His attention was that of an eagle’s, offering brief corrections but never touching her. “Higher,” he said. “Until it burns. Don’t stop—no, straighten out. Good.”
He had her go through her full range of motion. Occasionally, he’d have her repeat certain movements, and then he had her show him how she stretched. The way he watched her made her feel naked, but still, he never touched her, and she never even took off her socks.
“Thank you, Osha.”
“What are you thanking me for?” She took a long drink from her water bottle and picked up her gym bag, preparing for the walk back to her building.
“For trusting me. I knew you were in pain, and it’s… if I’m honest, it’s been worrying me in my spare time and thoughts.”
“I’ve been on your mind?” She didn’t mean it to come out that way, of course. Still, the moment she realized how it sounded, she couldn’t bring herself to regret it.
He did not shy from it, letting his lips curve into another slow smile while his eyes traced her form. “Can you blame me?”
She exhaled slowly, trying to shake the slight discomfort his appraisal gave her. “You’re a… mysterious man.”
“I’m an open book.”
“I doubt that—”
“For you.
Osha pulled up short, midway through zipping up her jacket. The stranger closed distance with her as she stood in front of the door. Like this, they mimicked how they had stood in the darkened shop the last two nights. Her, looking up at him, a cold wall to one side.
“If there’s anything you want to know about me, I’ll tell you. That’s not something I offer to anybody.”
“Does my sister have carte blanche like I do?”
“No.”
“Why?”
“I’ve known her two years and she didn’t trust me enough to hear the truth when I spoke it. Why would I let someone in if all they’d do is call my life a lie?”
His assessment of Mae disquieted her. Mae was a kind girl and a sharp fighter—a great sister. When Sol had taken them in, she hadn’t trusted him for a while either, but eventually her opinion had changed. “Did you give her reasons not to trust you?”
“I gave her what she needed from me. Trust was never part of that. But… this is really something that you should talk to her about. What did she say when you asked her about me?”
“She wouldn’t say much. I was planning on asking her tonight.”
“Then do that. If you have any other questions about it, you can ask, but you should trust your sister first.” Don’t trust me blindly, his eyes said.
“Alright. I’ll ask her first.”
“What else do you want to know?”
Quite the powerful question. Osha didn’t know where to start. “If I asked about the first night we met, would you tell me it was coincidence?”
“Would you believe me if I told you it was?”
“If that was the truth.”
The stranger’s eyes glittered with amusement, a muscle in his jaw flexing as he thought over her words. “The first time, yes. The second time, no. I wanted to see you again.”
Osha’s heart did flips in her chest, a desperate translation of what her mind was doing. “What do you want from me?”
“I…” His brow furrowed. “That’s a very complicated answer.”
“It could be. Or it couldn’t.”
“The list of reasons why is ever-growing, but at the top of it, I want you to trust me enough that I might help you the way I know how to.”
The motion sensors in the gym lobby cut the lights from their lack of movement, plunging them both into half-darkness.
“And why do you want to help me?”
“I know what it’s like to be cast aside for an injury that wasn’t your fault.”
Osha’s face fell, heart dropping into her gut. “That’s—that’s not what happened. You don’t know what you’re talking about.”
If she didn’t know better, she would have said he looked almost… disappointed. “You’re right,” he said, pulling the hood of his jacket over his head. “Sorry about that.” He smiles at her, a toothy grin that doesn’t really meet his eyes. “Ask your sister who I am. Maybe you’ll take the fuck off option next time I offer it.”
With that, he disappeared in a swirl of snow for the third time.

I expected to go into the Acolyte hating the broad strokes but appreciating the minor details, but this show surprised me by reversing that expectation! So, here's my review of the first two episodes.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/43aa9ccb3ef0c907e24f0ebf4b084e24/6135f588f5304d57-d3/s540x810/95f9efdcfeb20a8b7a24705b3eebf79c98a80dba.jpg)
The Broad Strokes:
The gorgeous visuals. Dare I say it? On par with Andor.
The pacing. Intrigue was set up and maintained! I'm not entirely sold on this show (see: Minor Nitpicks) but I'm still curious enough to see it through to the end.
The characters. Sol is the most likable character so far, with Osha and Jecki as close seconds. I dislike Mae, but that's just because she's a well-written villain.
White and gold color schemes my beloved. So elegant and dignified!
The premise. Most of the other Star Wars shows released this year were building upon previous shows (Bad Batch – Clone Wars :: Ahsoka – Rebels). The Acolyte is the first time the High Republic has been shown on screen, which is a tremendous undertaking. I think they did a fantastic job with the setting.
The fight scenes! Indara's fight with Mae is particularly memorable because it's so cool to see Force-enhanced battling in real life. Like, oh! Now I see what the prequels Jedi meant by "the Force is clouded"! This is what it looks like when they're at their peak!
PowerPoint transitions.
Balancing plot, action, and character moments. This is part of pacing, but it deserves it's own bullet point because this is massively hard to do.
The Minor Nitpicks:
"Our political enemies might use this against us." Tell me you didn't put any effort into political worldbuilding without telling me. What political enemies? I don't expect names, but I would like to have a broad idea of what the stakes are, especially if this is going to be an ongoing issue for the Jedi characters in this series.
Jecki was talking to Osha on the ship and even smiling, then Sol and Yord walked in, and Jecki's smile dropped, like she was doing something she wasn't supposed to. Why?
I've been getting into East Asian cinema, and going from that to The Acolyte makes it extremely obvious that these actors are Westerners. Something about the way they bow, and the way they request permission to speak. The Jedi's respect-based culture is not natural to any of these characters.
Every guy I went to high school with acted like that apothecary owner. I don't understand why Hollywood is obsessed with this character archetype, but honestly, I wouldn't mind never seeing it again.
Does Indara not know anything about tactics? Obviously Mae threw the knife at the bar owner to distract Indara. Really, Indara should have killed Mae when she had the chance, but her guilt and shock understandably stopped her. In that case, she should have changed her position on the battlefield to prioritize protecting the bar owner until Mae gave up and left.
Torbin's death had "video game player character commits suicide when their constitution gets too low" energy. It isn't insensitive to do it this way, it's just not how I would've done it. Suicide is not a foregone conclusion for poor mental health.
I'm sorry, I have to bring up the attachment discourse. The characters in The Acolyte are far too preoccupied with it. The Late Republic (prequel era) Jedi had the same rules against attachment, but they trusted each other to know what they were doing. For example, when Obi-Wan defends his former Padawan (Anakin) against Mace Windu in ROTS, Mace is skeptical but holds his tongue. When Master Sol does the same in The Acolyte, Vernestra immediately accuses him of attachment. Why? Why doesn't she trust Sol (a Jedi Master who has proven himself) to mind his own attachments?
Master Sol is moderately shocked that his former Padawan was accused of murder, and Vernestra goes, "I didn't know you still had feelings for her. :/" Not even the prequel Jedi were this critical. Yes, even Luminara.
Overall, I did like the show, and though my standards are low for it, I am excited for the next episode. I probably won't be reblogging much about it, but so far I appreciate this show as an addition to the Star Wars canon. Well, it's better than Ahsoka and Book of Boba Fett, which is good enough in my book.

For the ask game ! The Phantom of the Opera, Rent, and wicked ! (Also hi I'm just asking the people who reposted it this... don't mind me..)
Okay I actually answered ALL of the ask game in a diff post (curse you sol) but here’s those ones!!
The Phantom of the Opera - what is a flaw that your beloved hates about themself (or something people consider a flaw) , but you find absolutely beautiful?
Hmm… I don’t know what they consider to be a flaw, honestly. But I love all of them. Their body, curves and all, and their eyes and their nose and their laugh and their smile. Gods, I adore absolutely everything about them.
Rent - what would you give (how much money would you pay) to make sure that your beloved was all yours and was perfectly happy with you? what would you give up for a relationship with them?
Anything and everything. Again, whatever’s necessary will be done. I would gladly give up a relationship for them. I have before and I would again.
Wicked - if you and your best friend had the same beloved, what would you do? would you let your best friend have them (because you’re “Not That Girl”)?
Sorry but they’re mine :). I would definitely not give up and let my best friend have them… No way in hell. That’s my darling so they’ll be MINE. I’m poly so if my best friend is okay with it, sure we can both date them! But if it’s only one of us then it will be me.

So, you've given us your dearly beloved Eris headcanons - how about some for ol' Drifter? :]
1 - He is an absolutely fantastic cook, has a garden on the Derelict, and is super into preserving food as well - if he *really* likes you, he cooks for you (food insecurity often results in food-as-expression-of-love)
2 - He has small prepper-stocked safe-houses all over the Sol system full of food, fuel, ammo, and everything you'd need to live out in hiding for an extended period of time to either avoid authorities till the heat dies down or survive an apocalypse
3 - Even when he's flat-out lying to your face, there's always a way he's carefully phrasing it to make it at least somehow true via some sort of logicstical/philosophical loophole because he actually hates lying, especially to people he cares for (which is why the Emissary of the Nine's comment about 'the Dredgen always lies' cuts so deeply for him), but misdirection, misleading, and lies of omission are totally fair game for him.
I have more (because of course I do) but you'll have to ask again if you want them. :P

︵︵ ྀི first name, sylvia .
notes. basically my entire thought process behind choosing her first name. most are rooted from theories. & it lowk stops making sense & repetitive at the end.
♡⠀her name is a reference to myosotis sylvatica or more commonly known as “forget-me-not”, a symbol of enduring love & rememberance.
sol has mentioned multiple times about us needing to remember him: “remember me”, “i need you to remember”. meaning we knew eachother prior to us meeting in day one. he also very persistent in wanted us to remember him. which led to me picking forget-me-nots; flower of remembrance & enduring love. i also wanted to tie the name to flowers because of the heavy flower references within the game: sol(anaceae) brugmansia, crowe’s carnations, and mc wanting to be a gardener.
♡⠀there’s also a mediaeval legend about forget-me-nots, where a knight was collecting (the) flowers for his beloved, but fell into the water and sank due to this armor. before he drowned, he threw the flowers to his love and shouted “forget me not”.
i thought this was another nice connection because i really like the theory i saw somewhere of us “dying” from drowning, resulting in our memory lost (and sol hating the ocean).
♡⠀myosotis sylvatica are woodland forget-me-nots, myosotis scorpioides are water forget-me-nots.
to me when i see higher ground & waterways, i think of royalty / the rich and the poor / farmers. referencing to our (theorized) past life of being royalty, and due to her past life as one (like marie antionette) she had to pay off her debts in this current life being a farmer / the poor.
♡⠀sylvatica myosotis are actually “false” forget-me-nots.
(this only applies to this theory?) there’s a theory of us being a lookalike to sol’s past life or something similar to that, so he created this “false” view of us, thinking we are his past lover.
♡⠀choose to add an “i” to sylva to reference sylvia plath.
sylvia plath is an american poet who experimented with binary oppression and drew inspiration from a dead muse, similarity to edgar allan poe (one of sol’s favorite authors). some say they are similar to each other, but their approaches to death were different; poe approached with mystery, while plath approached it with a more playfully way and not so seriously (maybe a reference for sol & sylvia’s personality). other than her works, plath is also “known” for her death; some could say she was more known for her death (sadly). similarly, marie antionette was known for her death (in a way).
extra: her nickname “vivi” means alive :)
edit. he also is seen drawn with forget-me-nots. i didn’t realize this until a few hours later of me making this entire explanation… T T

ROBIN THIS ROBO KY SONG ACTTUALLY SLAPS SO HARD genuinely the exact kind of shit i want to listen to while i do homework. lmfao. is this a distorted remix of a different song or did the song just come into existence sounding like this
okay so! Ky's theme of 'Holy Orders' is based off of Robo-Ky's theme 'Holy Orders?'. This is a representation of how Robo-Ky questions everything told to him, including those Holy Orders given to him, by those superior to him. Ky, meanwhile, as the leader of the police and then king of illyria, is the one passing down these Holy Orders. And yet he still needs to question them. He doesn't. Also Ky's theme sounding normal and pleasant to a regular person symbolizes how he desperately wishes to stay lovable and palatable to the people around him, as seen in one of his Guilty Gear XX endings.
It's wild. He pushes himself deep into respectability to make up for the fact that he's in love with a Gear, a being that the entire world hates and is in terror of. He believes that if he can become perfect and respectable enough, then he can achieve the 'points' needed to be happy with his Gear girlfriend-cum-wife and others will be fine with it. This is a metaphor for when queer people try and shove other queer people under the bus in order to appease the hetero-normative majority. Ky Kiske actually comes out as a trans woman in Strive (using he/him around because I honestly forgot and I'm so tired), completing her character arc of learning that some people can never be happy with you and you have to work your energy for people who need it. It's really nice. She's still King of illyria because they went through like ten country shattering disasters in the last 2 years and they can't afford to rebrand everything.
Robo-Ky teaches him that no matter how hard you work, some people will never love you, and the sooner you accept that the sooner you can start working for the people who WILL love you in Guilty Gear 2: Overture, the 17th game in the series. It's very touching, where Robo-Ky reconciles with him for killing his only friend and Ky desperately pretends that he has any idea what he's talking about.
okay so apparently ky ABANDONS 'holy orders' in strive. just another example of why its the worst game in the series (im joking i literally dont care about that game other than venom and his bakery and also delilah as a concpt). Robo-Ky never abandoned 'Holy Orders?' proving that it's truly his theme. also look at how many rivalry themes he has. he needs a WEDDING THEME that plays whenever he FIGHTS his BELOVED WIFE. why do you need so many rivalry themes with your father-in-law. whats the story there (i know what the story is there)
here's a playlist i grabbed with all of kys themes
i have not vetted them for quality. and here's a playlist of all the iterations of Holy Orders
it is so unorganized. but it has robokys theme. which is important.
ANYWAY YOU KNOW ROBO-KY'S KOREAN THEME ALREADY BUT OTHERS DON'T.
youtube
Dizzy Valentine's (Ky's Gear girlfriend/wife) theme. There's an official version up that's way different and way fucking worse.
youtube
Millia Rages theme. I love her so much my beautiful beautiful lovely complexly written and beautifully conceptualized wife
youtube
OH HOLY ORDER SOL ALSO FUCKS HARD. This is Ky's father in law back when he worked for the church as a crusader.
youtube
This isn't Guilty Gear but it's super good for only having 870 views
youtube
And yeah! There is your music, along with your Guilty Gear lore! please ask me if you want elaboration on anything or want more guilty gear music I live to talk about it.

✍️💞🏷️🌦️📝 For the ask game, maybe both for Codz and Mst3k perhaps?
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HI @shinmiyovvi IVE GOT ANSWERS FOR THESE FINALLY!!! I’m gonna put it behind a cut just because it’s long, but HERE WE GO!!!
So first up we’ve got Call of Duty Zombies, and my always beloved Edward!
✍️: Overall, how does the fandom trait you? Are you a beloved character, or hated? Are you popular, or a minor side character? Anything in between?
I hope the fandom traits me well… I’ve already seen what happens when they don’t lol. Hopefully I’d be relatively popular, considering I’m stuck in with the main crews.
💞: Aside from with your f/o, who else would you commonly be shipped with? Why?
UH. EXCELLENT QUESTION LOL. Maybe Takeo???
🏷️: What is you and your f/o’s ship name?
Fox and Bun! Or The Fox and The Bun in longer form lol. I’m the fox, he’s the bunny!
🌦️: Would you be accompanied by mostly fluff or angst fanfics? Both? Explain why.
Ooh, good question… hopefully fluff! I’m not and angst type of person- I’m the one that hopefully brings a little bit of light to the whole situation, and I hope that it would translate into how others perceive me.
📝: How would your story in canon go? How would you influence the events of the original story?
UM. I haven’t actually thought a whole lot about me being in their story, honestly. I spend so much time with my modern AU that I haven’t thought about it the other way around! BUT- I’m definitely an American, warped from my modern day back to their time and universe, and stumbled upon by the ultimis crew. I carry on with them on their adventures until the primis crew comes across us, and through thorough convincing I tell them to ignore the stupid fucking book and work together to defeat the real problem. Oh yeah and the Richtofens fall in love with me of course lol.
AND NOW- Mystery Science Theater 3000, and my sweet Mikey Moo!
✍️: Overall, how does the fandom trait you? Are you a beloved character, or hated? Are you popular, or a minor side character? Anything in between?
I really hope I would be trained well… I’d kinda have to be a main character by design, so I really hope I’d make a good impression on the fandom.
💞: Aside from with your f/o, who else would you commonly be shipped with? Why?
OH IVE GOT AN IDEA FOR THIS LMAO. I’m gonna say either Dr. Clayton Forrester or Observer! (he’s also nicknamed Brain Guy lol)
🏷️: What is you and your f/o’s ship name?
Space Age Love Song! (which is the title of a song by the band A Flock of Seagulls- huge thank you to @maninthebox242 for thinking of that!)
🌦️: Would you be accompanied by mostly fluff or angst fanfics? Both? Explain why.
FLUFF. Mike and I are both awkward little beans and that alone lends itself to fluff galore. Add in the fact that we’ve got two wisecracking little robots as roommates and that lends itself even more to the fluff!
📝: How would your story in canon go? How would you influence the events of the original story?
SO. A lot of this isn’t gonna make much sense without knowing the backstory of the show, but I’ll give the cliffsnotes version lol- after Dr. Forrester’s assistant leaves him, he’s in search of a new assistant, which is where I come in. I’m mostly in the background though, so Mike doesn’t see much of me during his communications with Clayton. It’s only when Clayton’s mother Pearl starts to come around that trouble starts to happen. She thinks my presence is softening her son, and despite his protests, she takes it upon herself to send me up to the Satellite of Love to be a part of the MST3K experiment. This is when Mike and I first properly meet, and we almost immediately start harboring tiny little crushes on each other. Of course, Crow and Servo are in complete disbelief over this lol. But as we spend more time on the SoL together, we grow closer too. And the little crushes turn into big crushes lol.

I have a friend. She's my best friend. I love her very very much. She's my favorite person and her being in my life keeps me sane. Let's call her Sol.
That being said there's this other girl we'll call Mindy and Mindy is getting really touchy. She's holding my friends hand while I am. She's leaning her head on my friends shoulder and cuddling up to her. While. I. Am. Mindy is calling my beloved friend pet names and stealing the attention that should be on me.
Sol is mine. She's my person. She's my best friend and i am the most important person to her. Am I jealous of Mindy for getting close to Sol? Yes. And I don't fucking care. I'm not gonna be ashamed of it. Sol is mine. MINE. Mindy doesn't deserve her. Mindy doesn't understand her as deeply as I do. MINDY COULDNT EVER LOVE SOL AS MUCH AS I DO-
Me and Mindy used to be friends. But now whenever I see her I want to gut her like a fucking fish. I hate her I hate her I hate her.
Shes taking my best friend away and I won't let that happen.
Today I was sitting by Sol. I got up and walk away for 5 minutes to do something. MINDY IS SITTING IN MY DAMN SPOT! I tell her in the politest way possible. Bitch get up and move. She does. I think I gave her a look. Sol asked me if I was okay. Yes darling I'm okay. I'm just gonna cut a bitch and then all will be fine. Love you baby.
Im obsessed with Sol. I want her to understand I'd rip out my heart if she was dying so we could die together.
And I think she does. To a certain extent. You ever love someone so much it hurts? It fucking aches in your chest but you don't have the words to express your affection.
God I'm gonna kill Mindy. Get away from Sol. Shes mine and I swear to God I cannot make this more clear. Sol will never pick you Mindy. Not over me. And that's how it fucking should be. Because Sol needs me and I need her. We don't need you Mindy. Not in the slightest.
Mindy could fucking drop dead and I wouldn't feel a thing. Does that make me a bad person? I don't care shut up. Sol shouldn't waste her time on Mindy. I think Sol deserves only the best. I'm the best. I'm perfect. Sol knows this. Yet Mindy is still in the picture.
Fuck I fucking hate Mindy.

And onto Rush Adventure now:
-Tbh at first i wasnt sold on the materials grinding for ships but later liked how it gives you a reason to improve your scores on the levels so you can get more. Idk i usually dont care abt scores but w the external motivation? Yea
-Same w the misions, good way to have lil extra stuff to do (that said why did they block the sound mode songs behind misions. Game pls my internet makes opening youtube an odyssey and now this too? Cruelty 😔)
-Oh and also the ship minigames! Its fun to have a map you can explore, and the races w Jhonny for the chaos emeralds are way better than the Surely Existing special levels (also srry if i got his name wrong lmao)
-Onto the soundtrack; its more broad compared to rush, and each song does matches well the enviroment. I like the tropical coastal vibes of the main town n training level, and oh man. Sky babylon and deep core my beloveds who literally got engraved in my neurons so hard i was struggling reading hours later bc the darn tunes kept playing in the background of my skull. Well scratch that all the tunes keep playing on the bg of my skull rn, what kind of eldritch curse is this). So yes good ost 👍
-Overall the aesthetic n vibes are also more broad with that tropical relax overtone, its quite nice. The difficulty is also way more forgiving (i mean i played on easy but that's the mode the game came in) and the tutorials with the controls are helpful (yes i struggled with the jump dash in the previous game how can you tell)
- The story is also more calm and silly goofy but in a good way (can def see what ppl mean by the diff eras in sonic writing there). I also liked Whisker being the main but kinda dumb villain for funnies vs the eggmans being a bigger threat)
-I liked the scene in the coral cave where Blaze appears bc my mind was half "haha i knew we were in Blaze's world, neat" and " weeee hi Blaze, game of the year :D"
-Marine was also neat, liked her silly dynamic of cheerful kid who is a bit too full of herself and is kind of a brat abt it, and how she later learns to admit her own limits :) And the koala villagers were neat too i like their designs :)
Overall thank you for letting me ramble into your ask box abt these games, its been fun :D
lmao yeah it's a nice incentive! I think the only other game that gives you a reward with higher ranks is Unwiished (another Dimps game), where the higher the rank the more medals you get.
also sonic 🤝 hector:having to earn their crafting materials
The missions are a good way to extend the gameplay, but IIRC some of the Sol Emerald missions were brutal... I have flashes of the Blizzard Peak mission.
The waterbike was genuinely really fun and I hated that it was considered the "worst" vehicle for travel :( I don't like the submarine, let me travel the world on my tiny waterbike while the best music plays :( also yeah the Special Stages with Johnny are original! Certainly more than Half Pipe 50.0
SRA'S OST was composed by veterans Tomoya Ohtani and Mariko Nanba while trying to recreate Naganuma's style. Definitely unique and underrated. Sky Babylon used to be my favorite too! But there are so many tracks that IMO deserve more love, like Haunted Ship, Blizzard Peaks, the boss theme and Whiskers & Johnny <3
Funny to think SRA came out one year after '06, widely criticized at the time for being too melodramatic :P Whiskers is also a nice case of Eggman being the twist villain for once! Although the credits of the "bad" ending spoil him and Nega, lol. Not that Whiskers looks mysterious himself... eh you get it.
Marine seems to have been reevaluated recently, like many things from the 2000s. I remember that back then no one could stand her and her Aussie accent lmao, precisely because she was an annoying brat. She is still mildly underrated, but I think the modern fandom generally "forgave" her because they understood that she was meant to be a foil for Tails, who is more insecure.
(two fun facts: in some countries, SRA initially got a 12+ rating because Marine says "bugger", which is pretty mild for Aussie slang but is much stronger for American standards. Also, Marine is Australian because in original she speaks in Kansai-ben, and I guess that was a way to recreate the cultural connotations! That and koalas :P)
You're welcome, you're free to rant at any time <3

I've been thinking a lot about how the loss of an expectation of weekly releases for TV shows has really hurt the medium.
On the one hand, I really appreciate the ability to use the runtime of an 8-24-episode show to tell one coherent story over time.
On the other, I think of all these shows that were once considered beloved classics that I can't bring myself to sit through and watch.
Cowboy Bebop is the prime example I go to here, because I feel like most episodes of Cowboy Bebop do a good job of telling a self-contained story with a satisfying conclusion. Which is bad if you're gonna try and binge it. What always happens when I try to watch is I'll get through a couple episodes, decide I've had enough for now, and then forget about it for months on end because there is a neverending supply of other TV shows out there that do make you want to immediately watch the next episode.
But when it first aired, that was it. You saw it on TV or you missed it. But if you saw it live, and you walked away satisfied, then you had a full seven days to process it and then get excited to realize that would be more on the same day, time, and channel next week. And in fact at the time, creating an immediate need to see the next episode would have likely worked against most shows, because if your audience gets TOO frustrated by the wait, they might end up not being ready to tune back in the next week, meaning that if your station doesn't occasionally do reruns, you're SOL. Customer lost.
But I feel like even if you DO make shows that are meant to be watched in sequence, the binge format can work against you if you don't do it right. And for this I have two shows as examples: HunterxHunter and Sonic Prime.
I've often heard that the Chimaera Ant Arc of HunterxHunter is some of the best storytelling in anime, but while I think it might have had enough to say to justify being its own show, I hated it specifically because it was in HunterxHunter. I watched the show in 12-episode sessions after it had finished airing one incredibly depressed summer, and I was primarily on board to see the adventures of Gon and Killua, because from the beginning it had basically been the Gon and Killua show. So imagine my dismay when the peak of anime storytelling, the unintentional finale of this beloved series, the thing I was told was as good as it gets, almost completely wrote out every character who had mattered to me up to that point, and the one or two times we did check in on them, they were being shipped off to do offscreen training or coming back just to literally get hospitalized. Meanwhile we were being introduced to new characters once an episode, some of whom were literally never seen again after that. I won't say it was bad storytelling, but as someone who was there to watch the Gon and Killua show and had settled into a rhythm with it in my 12-episode viewing sessions, it was incredibly unsatisfying. However, I don't know if I'd have had that same reaction if I was watching once per week, although I kind of suspect it'd have been worse. I'll never know now, though.
Meanwhile, Sonic Prime released its single 24-episode season 8 episodes at a time, and it was only episodes 8 and 16 which were supposed to make you want to come back to it later. Except they created a need that was so strong it was frustrating to me, and I STILL haven't gone back to watch the final 8 episodes. It would have been perfect released weekly, or all at once. One or the other, it'd have been an incredible show in my mind, but that's not what Netflix gave us. They wanted a 3-season show for the cost of one season.
By contrast, Disney+, for every issue we all justifiably have with its owner, releases most of its originals one episode at a time. And they all become conversation pieces as a result. It's not fanart of one character, it's full-on discussions of themes because nobody's worried about spoiling more than one episode at a time - and you have a week to catch up before the conversation moves on! The Acolyte may have literally revived my interest in Star Wars as a result of it being the bonding experience with strangers and acquaintances that fandom is supposed to provide. And also by being just a good show worth tuning into and processing with others.

The Acolyte S1E1:
Holy shit, Ueda is beautiful.
Imagine hating someone so much that you attack the innocent to get said person to fight you. (remembers what Maul did in TCW) What did Indara do to you??
She's not even using her lightsaber, damn.
There we go.
Oooooof. Yeah, kinda saw that coming, but wow. Indara was someone I was kinda interested in seeing more of, but there lots of predictions of her death.
LOOK AT THE ITTY-BITTY DROID.
I think Osha might have DID. Complete personality switch. Wouldn't that be an interesting plotline?
Oh, Trade Federation CorpSec. Wonderful. It's been a while since we've seen Nemoidians (I definitely spelled that wrong) in live action.
When I saw the trailers, I did not expect Yord to have a padawan, but she's actually adorable.
Wait, if Anakin got a padawan after less than a year of being knighted and Yord's gotten one within two years of being knighted- is there no specific time limit on when a knight may take a padawan?
Something about Yord reminds me of Hayden's portrayal of Anakin in the Ahsoka show.
Osha definitely has DID. Or some sort of personality disorder.
Coruscant my beloved. (prequels nostalgia)
Okay, Master Sol is so good with the younglings omg.
Kinda neat how the escape pods make the whole ship jolt around.
Jecki is also an adorable padawan.
Haha, the Jedi caught the escape pods. That's funny.
Vernesta must be on the Council. I mean, even if she's not, she obviously has high authority.
Getting JFO vibes.
"What's wrong with Yord?" / "Nothing. No, he's…Yord." immediately cuts to them walking in on him shirtless Lmfao
"Yord. Put your clothes on." Heh, a funny interaction from a padawan about to be on her first mission and a knight. They must be pretty tightly knit, this group of theirs.
Yoooo, I was right about the DID. Or a twin she has a Force-dyad with.
Wait, I think I'm wrong on both accounts. If Mae is really dead, then perhaps Osha…absorbed her somehow. Two people in one body. I wonder how many unexplained things Osha's experienced that were really just Mae's doing. Idk, man.
Osha's really not dressed for this weather.
I think the twin might actually be alive.
Oh yeah, that's a whole different planet and shit. Mae's 100% alive, ignore all of my previous theories.

it's time to get drunk
"eat, o friends! drink, yes, drink deeply, o beloved ones!" song of sol 5:1
WHAT - you say. have i gone crazy, encouraging everyone to drink, even to the point of drunkenness. that's exactly what they accused them of when the Holy Spirit was poured out and they began to speak and proclaim the glories of Jesus to everyone in their hearing. but they were not drunk with the old wine of intoxication. they were drunk with the new wine of the Spirit of God. now as the feast of wine quickly approaches, let us all drink deeply from the new wine. the Lord has prepared new wine skins for us and it will not burst.
i would never encourage someone to partake of intoxication that would rob them of their sense and reason; rob them of their moral aptitude to discern good and evil, the wise and foolish. that was a demon my own father had to struggle with his whole life. he would be a normal, caring spouse and father for long periods of time, but when the desire overtook him he would get falling down drunk, sometimes for a weeks at a time.
"and do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit" eph 5:18 sobering times are coming and we need to get drunk in the spirit. we need His warmth and guidance. if you have partaken of the gift of tongues, use it frequently; "building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit." jude 1:20 if you have not, listen closely to that "still small voice" which guides us all.
i believe, even now, a mighty broom is sweeping the earth. don't you love it when you feel you have really heard from the Spirit? it's a confirmation of kinds that you're where you are and doing what you're supposed to be doing. there is no more comfortable seat in the house than the word of God.
i recently had that happen to me. my prayer time is always followed by a reading of His word. i always do something from the new testament, the old testament and then from psalms. anyway, i was in my morning prayers and suddenly i started thinking, there is a sweeping coming. i really didn't think much of it at the time, but then it came time to open the word.
i mean, honestly, how often do you think one might come across the word "sweep" out of all the passages and possibilities written? the translation i use - the new king james - only records it as being used four times, and my daily reading just "happened" to be one of them. so i really perked up and felt it might be God and not just my "cleaning house" spirit (which i hate to do).
the scripture that gripped me was isa 14:23 "'I will sweep it with the broom of destruction,' says the Lord of hosts." coincidentally (or is it), this happens to be the chapter in isaiah that speaks of lucifer's fall from heaven. a broom that will sweep those into the kingdom that are His and have procrastinated way too long. i don't know if that will come through shaking, conviction or desperation. only He knows what will get your attention, but get it He will. for He is "not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance." 2v pet 3:9
Jesus said, "I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours." john 17:9 for a long time (and even now) many are praying for their country. is the time now so short that our attention should be shifted to the individual? "'even if these three men, noah, daniel, and job, were in it, they would deliver only themselves by their righteousness,' says the Lord God." eze 14:14
the "bewildered" must not perish with those who, "loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil." john 3:19 we must fight the devil and his evil schemes tooth and nail. pray the Holy Spirit to deal again with their heart and bring ministers of the truth across their path. bind the blinders the enemy would cover their understanding with.
yes, let us sweep the house until we find the lost. did He not also give us this parable? "or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it?" luke 15:8 the Lord will be doing a final sweep of those who will respond to His call.
it is high time for us to awake out of our sleep and slumber. it's time to drink of the new wine. "drink, yes, drink deeply, o beloved ones!" song of sol 5:1 drink so there is enough oil and wine to last us until we drink it again, new with our Lord in the Father's house.
