i'm thinking thinking thinking of tying the gloomstalker/assassin build into astarion's characterisation here; since his rogue and charlatan background stems primarily from his years in enslavement to cazador - having to deceive marks, stalk the shadows, likely lockpicking and trespassing (although for non-residential places only, since, vampire). his skills as an archer/ranger now could also be influenced by his life pre-vampirism. thinking about his parentage but also his being an elf and having natural inclinations for magic and bow/swordsmanship. his father teaching him how to use a bow and arrow as a child to hunt for skins to create leather/furs (since i headcanon his father as having been a tailor), his mother connecting him with nature and magic, as a lover of art. the assassin aspect i think could naturally come about after being tadpoled and thrust into this whirlwind adventure, since they're constantly fighting and killing and fighting some more and he enjoys stabbing. whereas before, he wasn't really required to kill people, just entice them back to cazador. SO ANYWAY if i throw all of that into a mixing pot, i just like that even after 200 years of being forced to become someone else, there are still traces of his former self and his family within him, even though he, himself, doesn't remember them

Ambessa when it comes to Maddy: she does bring her up to Caitlyn but quickly drops it because although she's noticed Maddy around, she's also noticed that she isn't quite that distracting and is therefore not a threat.

Ambessa when it comes to Vi, who she's never met, yet somehow already knows that Caitlyn is in love with and sees her as an immediate threat that needs to be eliminated asap because Vi is the real distraction for Caitlyn.

My POINT IS... EVERYONE knows Caitlyn is in love with Vi.

WAIT Elle has box braids in s3??? I could cry

I don't think she had bad hair in s1 or s2, but I'm excited that they're actually giving the Black girls Black hairstyles instead of having them wear it out.

Before, it felt like the (all-white, for context) hair department was just ignorant about Black hair, so they put wigs on the Black actresses and only did styles that also work on nonblack hair for their own sake/convenience. This theory was especially supported by the fact that Tara, whose 4c hair couldn't really be styled the same as nonblack hair, wore a twistout that would take literal hours to do every day, but she had box braids in s2! and Elle has box braids now!! I'm so excited!!!

I also feel like this fits her bold, fashion-loving personality so much better than leaving her hair out. Our hair is basically its own accessory, and the long box braids are very feminine. Again, I'm not saying not having a protective style isn't feminine or fashionable (I myself am a fashion girlie with an Afro), but having one is another outlet for her creativity, and I'm glad they're recognizing that now.

trans & intersex people get dragged into everything just by virtue of existing. just existing is enough to make people angry. we just try to be normal and live normal lives and be good people like everyone else. having to live thru so much vitriolic transphobia & intersexism in the world which directly correlates to how you get treated by strangers every day all day just cause of some crybaby losing a sport against someone who is literally cis just because she ASSUMED she was trans is such a crazy experience.

I miss when people knew less about trans & intersex people. at least it was easier to fly under the radar. now it’s everywhere… like we are not already struggling enough without having to be dragged into debates about our existence whenever a white woman gets her feelings hurt. and billionaires feeling the need to ‘speak out’ against our existence like they’re the gender authority. it was never about us in the first place, but transphobes are so angry and bitter that they will always find a way to make us feel unsafe. it’s bizarre and a sad way to live. I can’t imagine how much unsafer it must feel for black trans & intersex folk rn.💔
