pairing brother's best friend!rafe cameron x brat!reader summary you slide into a random boy's dms on instagram, anything but expecting him to end up being your brother's best friend, let alone the person you'll be spending your summer vacation with. while resisting Rafe and his lingering gazes was an option, you found yourself in the constant loop of crossing the line; said line being your brother. ch warnings none !
NAVIGATION. series masterlist | 01 ¡ 02

“Wake up, we’re here.” Ryan nudged your side, observing as your parents unloaded the trunk, arguing over the amount of luggage each one of you brought. “Get up, Bug, mom is gettin’ mad.”
Ryan gave you a harsh push, disturbing your slumber as you jolted up from your seat. You blinked the sleep out of your eyes, eyeing your surroundings with haze, a mere attempt to make sense of the new setting that encircled the Airbnb your parents ranted.
It was a beautiful view, the sight of the beach not too far away, ocean breeze heading in your direction. Ryan’s figure instantly filled your vision, earning a low grumble out of you. You tucked your hair out of your face, stretching out your arms over your head.
“You slept through the whole ride.” Your brother scoffed, gathering the crumbled candy wrappers from the cup holder. “Help mom! She’s really mad, why’d you bring so many luggages?”
“Don’t piss me off,” you mumbled, kicking his knee, the gesture causing the latter to stumble back. “Move.”
You shuffled out of your seat, hopping out of the car. The place was surprisingly big– not for a family of four, that’s for sure. An unfamiliar car was parked in the driveway, the sight earning a puzzled expression out of you.
“Is someone else here?” You questioned, attention shifting to Ryan, who was busy tidying your side of the vehicle. “Who’s that car for?”
“Oh, you didn’t know?” Ryan shot back, furrowing his eyebrows with confusion. “What, you thought we’d be here on our own?”
“Wasn’t that what we had in plans?” You mumbled, strolling towards the creaked door. You peaked your head inside, an audible gasp escaping your throat when you spotted your parents chatting with a middle aged couple, whom you would assume were the guests staying with you. Their identities remain a mystery as they were faced away, unable to recognize them with only the back of their heads. You turned to face Ryan, whispering your next sentence. “There’s people inside.”
“Yeah, no shit.” He rolled his eyes, shutting the door to the car. He approached you, squeezing by as he let himself inside. “You think I’m spending the next two months stuck with only you? Hell no.”
“God, we should’ve let you rot on campus.” You groaned, following behind him. You remained as quiet as physically possible, not wanting to capture the elders’ attention, aware of the conversation they planned on dragging you to.
While walking up the stairs, you winced, as the suitcase you carried collided into the wood on your way up, creating a thud. Your gaze shifted to where your parents stood, a sigh of relief escaping your throat when you noticed they were still accompanied by the couple to their side.
You carefully settled your suitcase down, dragging it along as you observed each room, deciding which one would suit you best. You came to a halt once one caught your eye, growing intrigued as you opened the door all the way through, revealing the layout of the furnitured space.
“Pretty.” You whispered to yourself, tracing the designed light switch with your fingers.
“Not bad,” Ryan replied, his presence startling you. “Good choice, this room is actually mine.”
“I was here first!” Your face twisted with annoyance, watching as your brother leaned against the wall, now facing you. “It’s my room, not yours.”
“Oh, we’re going there?” He warned, cocking his head to the side. “I’ll tell dad about the time you sneaked out every day for an entire month, and made me cover for you whenever you got in trouble.”
“That was four years ago,” you reasoned, huffing at his ridiculous threat. “Besides, you’ve done worse. Remember all the marijuana you hid in my room? Or did we forget about that?”
“Okay– that was–” Ryan stammered, slumping his shoulders as he rolled his eyes. “I’ll kill you if you tell anyone about that.”
“Whatever, get out of my room.” You shoved his arm, the contact earning a dramatic gasp out of him. “Go complain somewhere else, I’m not giving you this room.”
“C’mon, Bug!” He whined, resisting the hands pressing to his back, forcing him out of the room. “There’s better rooms, why do you want this one specifically?!”
“Probably for the same reason you do.” You exclaimed, sighing once you gave Ryan one last push, the action causing him to stumble out into the narrow hallway. “And stop calling me that, I’ll kill you if you refer to me as Bug in front of everybody.”
“Everyone calls you Bug.” He clicked his teeth, fixing the collar of his shirt. “I forget that your name isn’t Bug sometimes, you know, jus’ used to it.”
“Are you trying to distract me right now? ‘Cause it’s not working.” You forced a tight-lipped smile across your face, earning a groan out of Ryan. “Busy yourself with something else, I don’t have time to pamper you.”
“‘Kay, fuck you then.” He spat out, flipping you off as he walked away.
You shut the door with a chuckle, taunted by your brother’s lash out. You placed your luggage on the bed, growing confused when you noticed the bed was slightly undone, indicating someone clearly had been there. You brushed it off, thinking it was Ryan’s doing, as you were too exhausted to further process it.
You searched through your suitcase, acquiring your everything-shower bag. You set it to the side, retrieving a clothing set, one suitable to be seen in, and comfortable enough to get you through the night.
Once you had everything you needed, you grabbed your belongings, freezing when footsteps echoed through your ears. You were painfully aware that this was not Ryan, as you would’ve heard him come in with the click of the door.
You aimed for your bag, equipping yourself for the hit you planned to swing, now that you sensed your life being at risk. Nothing could’ve prepared you for what you had coming as you swiftly turned around, a ragged breath escaping your parted lips at the sight of a certain someone.
Mere inches away from you stood Rafe, the Rafe Cameron whom you have messaged a few hours from now. You couldn’t believe your eyes, instantly brushing this off as a dream, because there’s no way in hell he was there, half naked, with only a towel hanging low around his hips. A blank expression remained plastered across his face, not too astonished by your presence.
A nervous gulp dried your throat, gaze following the water drop trailing down his exposed chest, on full display, revealing his muscular figure. God, his arms, the photos weren’t doing him justice, because besides his toned body, the man was gorgeous.
His eyes were a radiant shade of blue, nose slightly pointy, as well as his pink lips, that you wouldn’t describe as big, but just the right size, as you wanted nothing but to lean forward and kiss him, ceasing the unnecessary distance between you.
You shook the thoughts off, clutching into stuff that you had in hand, instantly growing nervous by the latter as he took a step forward, now towering over you, making you feel small under under his gaze. You glanced up at him, shifting your vision back to his chest when you caught him already staring at you.
Rafe broke into a grin, amused by how flustered you were, nothing compared to how brave you were over text. He remained in front of you for a moment, awaiting a response out of you, a question perhaps.
“I…” ah, there it was. “I didn’t know you were in here.”
“That’s okay,” he reassured, voice dripping with sweetness, that the moment he spoke, you found yourself melting in the spot. “Look at me.”
Your face flushed with heat at the statement, shifting your gaze back to his face, breath knocking out of your chest when his eyes locked with yours, creating a mess out of you. He leveled himself with your body, adjusting his position where he stood now that he caught your attention.
“It’s nice to finally meet you,” he hushed out, grogginess visible through his tone. “Bug, was it?”
Yeah, had you known Rafe Cameron was spending the next two months with you, you would not have shown up, aware of the consequences that came with your feelings.
How were you supposed to set a limit for yourself when he’s there, existing and looking so attractive while doing it?

Everything changed when that pregnancy test read positive.
The day you fumbled into his office, bearing what you thought to be bad news, John's excited face threw you for a loop.
Wasn't he supposed to be upset? Tell you that he didn't want to have a kid with someone he didn't fully care about? Why was he crying? Why did he embrace you so tenderly?
"I'll be there for both of you, Dovie," Price reassures in the nook of your neck, arms caging you against his chest.
Take care of both of you.
Both?
"M-Mr. Price, with all due respect—"
Price cuts off your protests. He leads you out of his office. His large hand grips your waist more possessively. "Go rest your feet up in the lounge; I'll take care of everything." His lips press to the crown of your head, ushering you away gently at the reception entrance.
You were supposed to have one fun night, not to be locked in for the rest of your lives.
Your days of working at a desk were replaced with John's house. It was far from the bustling base you had grown used to. The space was warm and homey. Bits of memorabilia were scattered about. Medals adorned the walls, and old photos sat on the shelves.
John said you only have one job now: making yourself at home.
There was so much space that you didn't know where to start or even how to start! It's not like there was a plan for having your boss's child! So much was happening so fast it left you overwhelmed, sitting on his couch with nervous hands. "Mr. Price, I'm really not sure about all this; I mean... what we did was a big mistake, right?"
From upstairs, you hear John laugh. He's been up there all morning, fixing the nursery for your child. He wanted to create a special room for them, saying that his kid deserves nothing but the best. Heavy footsteps announce his presence as he closes the distance between you. Calloused fingers grip your chin, forcing you to look into his ocean eyes. "You don't want this?"
His touch has you melting, words dying on your lips as you get lost in those eyes. God, why did he look at you that way? Churning like laundry, your gut writhes. A violent spin cycle grips your innards, knotting and wrenching them mercilessly. "I never—I never said that; I just think we're taking things too fast, don't you?" The half-hearted mumble escapes your lips, unconvincing even to yourself.
John's expression shifts; his eyebrow raises in slight scrutiny. "If you believed that, you wouldn't be here."
He's right.
"I do-"
He cuts in swiftly, voice firm. "You don't."
John's grasp tightens on your chin. He leans in, eyes intense. Your heart races. His lips brush yours. The kiss—chaste yet electric. A moment suspended in time. Emotions flood through you both, unspoken but palpable. "You have me. Whatever you want is yours, all you have to do is say the word."
John waits, poised for your word. His eyes betray a craving—silent, deep, and raw.
He belongs to you. He's all yours.
Your lips purse in a line, lip caught between your teeth.
Anything you want?
"I don't like the color of the nursey..."

The sky was breaking open.
What had been a perfect, cloudless Saturday — where everything had felt possible — was now a roaring mess of water and wind.
The same track that had held his first pole position of the season now looked like a stranger.
Lando stood by his car, helmet tucked under his arm, rain sliding off his race suit in steady streams, like the sky itself was crying for him.
He was trying — really trying — to get his head straight.
But it was hard.
Hard when the weight of every near-miss, every mistake, every podium that wasn’t a win pressed on his shoulders.
Hard when the image of Max in São Paulo, slicing through the rain like it wasn’t even there, looped in his mind, taunting him.
This was supposed to be his day.
Pole was supposed to mean something.
But now, all he could think about was how easily rain could take that away.
What if I mess it up? What if I lose everything? What if-
“Daddy?”
The small voice broke through the storm in his head like sunshine through clouds.
He turned.
There was Noah — rain dripping from the ends of his jacket, cheeks pink from the cold, eyes wide and honest and full of something Lando had lost in the last few hours: belief.
You hovered just behind him, watching quietly, giving them space.
Lando crouched down, resting his arms on his knees to meet Noah at eye level.
“Hey, buddy,” he said softly, though his throat felt tight. "You okay out here in the rain?"
Noah frowned, taking a step closer until he was right up in Lando’s space, hands reaching to tug gently at Lando’s suit.
“I am okay, but why are you not okay, Daddy?” he asked, tilting his head. "Aren’t you gonna win? You said you were gonna win."
Lando let out a breath, a shaky laugh that didn’t quite reach his eyes.
"I know, mate. I… I wanna win." His voice cracked at the end.
Noah blinked up at him, unbothered by the rain hitting his face. "Then why are you sad?"
Lando hesitated. What could he even say? Because sometimes winning feels impossible? Because I don’t know if I’m good enough? Because I'm scared?
Instead, he shrugged, offering a small, forced smile.
“It’s raining a lot,” he finally said, as if that explained the weight in his chest.
But Noah just gave him a look — the same look Lando had given you a thousand times when he thought you were worrying too much.
“It’s just rain, Daddy," Noah said matter-of-factly. "We like rain.”
Lando blinked, caught off guard.
"You always chase me in the rain," Noah continued, smiling now, that childhood certainty glowing in his eyes. "You say it makes you run faster. And you always catch me, even if I’m the fastest runner ever."
A soft laugh broke from Lando's lips, something warmer, something real.
"And Mommy always says we’ll get sick but you don’t care," Noah went on, as if this were the most important fact in the world.
"You say, 'It’s just rain, Noah. Rain makes us faster.’”
Lando’s throat tightened.
For a second, he couldn't speak.
Because in that moment, through all the noise and pressure and fear, his son had reminded him of something he’d forgotten:
Who he was.
Not just a driver. Not just a number on a screen.
But Noah’s dad. Your partner. Someone who could be brave when it mattered.
Lando reached out and pulled Noah into a hug, pressing his face into the crook of his tiny shoulder, breathing in the rain and the smell of his son — like grass and soap and home.
"You're right, little man," he whispered, voice thick. "It's just rain."
He pulled back, brushing wet curls from Noah’s face.
"And you think I'm faster than everyone, huh?"
Noah grinned, eyes lighting up. "You’re faster than everyone, Daddy! Even if it's raining forever!"
Lando let out a real laugh this time, warmth blooming in his chest.
He looked up to find you, standing there with your arms wrapped around yourself for warmth, but smiling, tears quietly mixing with the rain on your cheeks.
Their eyes locked for a moment, and you gave him a nod — small, but enough to say we believe in you.
Lando stood, keeping Noah’s little hand in his, squeezing gently.
“Okay, buddy. I’m gonna win that trophy for you.”
“Yay!” Noah beamed. “But you can keep it for your shelf... if you want.”
Lando chuckled, leaning down to press a kiss to the top of Noah’s head.
“No, I think it belongs in your room.”
Noah’s smile widened, his eyes sparkling with pride, as though his father had just promised to conquer the world for him. In that moment, the rain didn’t feel so heavy. The doubts that had plagued Lando’s mind were still there, but the weight of them didn’t seem quite as unbearable with Noah at his side.
And you — your smile, your quiet support — made the world seem possible again.
As they walked toward the pit lane, Lando felt a shift inside of him. The rain wasn’t a burden anymore. It was a challenge. A reminder that no matter how many times life tried to knock him down, he could always get back up. Just like he always did when Noah ran faster than him, laughing, his tiny feet splashing through puddles.
Lando squeezed his son’s hand tighter.
"Let’s show ‘em what we’ve got, buddy."
With a nod from Noah and a final glance at you, Lando felt the familiar rush of determination surge through him.
This wasn’t just about the race anymore.
It was about being the man he promised to be — not just for himself, but for the ones who believed in him.
The Australian Grand Prix was shaping up to be a classic.
As the cars lined up on the grid in Melbourne, the drizzle had kept the track damp, just enough to keep the tire choices uncertain. It wasn’t the heavy rain that everyone had feared, but it was far from perfect racing conditions. Still, Lando sat in P1, his hands firmly gripping the wheel, his focus set on one thing: keeping that lead.
The McLaren car was well-suited to the conditions, and Lando had a good start. The lights went out, and he got off the line clean, his heart racing in sync with the growl of the engine as he took off into Turn 1. He held his ground, blocking Max, who was gunning for the lead, while Oscar — his teammate and the home hero — was hot on his heels in P3.
The track was slick, but Lando’s experience in these tricky conditions helped him build an early gap. His McLaren was light and agile, its handling sharp as he darted through the twists of the Melbourne layout. Verstappen, however, wasn’t far behind. The Red Bull driver was a constant shadow, ready to pounce at the slightest mistake.
By the first pit window, the rain had picked up a bit more, turning the track into a quagmire of uncertainty. Tire choices were a gamble — intermediate tires or full wets? The crew had to decide quickly, and they were calling for intermediates as the rain began to settle. Lando glanced nervously at the sky but held his ground. “Let’s stay out a bit longer,” he told his team, his voice steady but with a hint of doubt. Don’t get greedy, just don’t make a mistake.
Max pitted early, pushing for the full wets as he believed the track was getting too slick for anything else. He rejoined the circuit behind Lando, but it was clear he was closing the gap, his tires cutting through the water more effectively than Lando’s.
Just as the McLaren pit crew started to signal for a pit stop — the conditions changing rapidly — the first Safety Car period was called. A rookie crashed heavily into the barriers, bringing the race to a halt. Lando’s heart raced again as he followed the Safety Car. Was this a blessing or a curse? The rain had intensified even further, and the conditions were treacherous. Oscar, who had been showing great pace, was caught out in the slippery conditions, skidding onto the grass, and although he tried to recover, he struggled to get back on track in time. He was forced to return to the pits, ultimately falling back to P13.
Now it felt like a battle between Lando, Max, and the rest of the pack. But just as they prepared to go racing again, the rain poured down harder, the track quickly becoming a slippery mess. It was a delicate balance for Lando, who was managing the lead with grit and skill but was well aware that Max was waiting to pounce.
The green flag waved again, and the cars shot back out into the mix, Lando still holding off the charging Verstappen.
Lap after lap, Lando danced on the edge of control. Every corner was a fight, every moment a test of his patience and skill. The McLaren’s rear end was constantly sliding out, but Lando somehow kept it in line. He could feel Verstappen breathing down his neck, waiting for him to make a mistake — and then, it came.
The rain intensified in a sudden downpour, and the track became a slick, unpredictable nightmare. The tires couldn’t keep up, and the grip was nonexistent. As Lando tried to brake for Turn 4, his tires locked up, and he was forced to take a detour through the gravel, his heart nearly stopping as he fought to stay on the track. He got back on just in time to gain his way back to P1.
Lando was far from done.
He set his sights forward, telling himself to focus — just focus. The rain was lashing down, but with each lap, Lando found his rhythm again, using the high-speed corners to his advantage, keeping the McLaren planted while others struggled.
A second Safety Car came out as Jack Doohan spun into the gravel, and just as quickly, the race was halted once again. The field bunched up, and Lando’s mind raced. He could feel the pressure of it all — a season opener, a potential win slipping through his fingers as Verstappen loomed behind him.
And then, when it seemed like he was about to lose his edge, Lando had a moment of clarity. He’d thought about Noah — his little boy, his voice in his head, telling him, "You’re faster than everyone, Daddy."
Lando could feel his son’s words ignite a fire inside him. He wasn’t racing to prove anything to anyone else, but to show Noah, to show himself, that no storm, no matter how wild, could stop him.
When the Safety Car came in again, Lando took a deep breath. The track was as slippery as ever, but the fight wasn’t over.
Lando’s heart was hammering. He was in the lead, and with the final few corners in sight, he pushed his car to the edge. The track had dried just enough, but the pressure on him was unbearable. He took a deep breath and crossed the line with the loudest, most cathartic roar of his life.
Lando Norris had done it. He had won.
P1.
He couldn’t believe it.
The rain had made this race a battle of attrition, and as he eased into the cooldown lap, he couldn’t help but smile to himself.
He slowly lifted his hand to the radio and spoke to his team, his voice shaky with emotion.
“Oooph! Little bit of pressure, well done boys. Beautifully handled. Excuted to the second. One second later and we were done so well done everyone. Congrats, amazing way to start the year. Thank you so much. This one was for you, Noah.”
The world exploded in cheers as the McLaren pit crew erupted, their joy a mix of disbelief and ecstasy. But through the noise, Lando only had one thing on his mind: you and Noah.
He couldn’t wait to share this with his little boy and with the love of his life.
Lando brought the car back to the pit lane. He could hear the roar of the crowd, the fans cheering from the stands, even as the noise inside his helmet began to fade. He blinked, trying to keep his focus, but his hands were still shaking slightly from the adrenaline. His chest felt tight, like he was trying to contain all the emotions swirling inside him — relief, pride, and an overwhelming sense of gratitude.
He had done it.
He had won. P1.
As the car coasted into the pit box, the team was already waiting. The McLaren crew flooded around him, clapping and shouting, their faces beaming with joy. But Lando barely registered any of it. His eyes were scanning the crowd, searching for the two faces that meant the most to him — you and Noah.
The cheering around him felt distant, almost muted, as if it wasn’t real. But seeing you, standing by the barriers, your eyes wide with emotion, was like a splash of cold water. The world around him snapped back into focus. He could see Noah next to you, bouncing up and down, his small face lit up with excitement.
Lando’s heart swelled.
He quickly removed his helmet, his wet hair clinging to his forehead, and climbed out of the car. He could feel the weight of his win, but in that moment, it felt lighter. He was overwhelmed by how much this meant to him. It wasn’t just the victory, it was that he had made it — for himself, for you, and for Noah.
Before the team even had a chance to celebrate properly, he was walking toward you.
“Daddy! You did it!” Noah cried out, his voice high-pitched with excitement. Lando's eyes softened, and he dropped to one knee, his arms open wide.
Noah ran straight into his arms, as Lando hugged him tight, holding him close like he had been waiting for this moment for a lifetime. The rain still fell lightly, but it didn’t matter. All the chaos of the race, the uncertainty, the fear — it was gone.
“I did it, buddy,” Lando whispered, his voice thick with emotion. “We did it.”
“You’re the fastest, Daddy!” Noah exclaimed, his small hands grabbing onto Lando’s race suit. “I knew you were!”
Lando chuckled, pulling back just enough to look at his son. “You knew, huh? You were right all along.”
Noah nodded vigorously, his smile as wide as it could go. “You told me you were faster than everyone. And you are!”
Lando’s chest tightened at his words. He had said it to Noah so many times, almost as a promise, a reassurance that no matter what, he could always come out on top. He had made sure to tell Noah that on the tough days, on the days where it felt like nothing was going right, but now it was reality.
And it was because of you and Noah that he had found the strength to keep pushing.
Lando stood up, holding Noah in his arms as he walked toward you. The world seemed to slow as his gaze locked with yours.
You were smiling, but there was something else there — something that said “I knew you could do it”. You were just as emotional as he was. Your eyes glistened with pride, but there was a tenderness in your expression that made him feel like he was home.
“I told you, didn’t I?” Lando’s voice was rough with emotion as he reached out for your hand.
You nodded, your hand fitting perfectly into his. “I never doubted you for a second.”
He leaned in, his eyes soft as he looked at you — the weight of the moment hanging in the air. Without thinking, he pulled you into him, pressing his lips to yours in a kiss that was full of emotion. It was gentle at first, a quiet acknowledgment of everything he had been holding inside.
For a moment, time seemed to slow, and Lando could feel the joy and relief in that single kiss. It wasn’t just the victory he was celebrating, but the shared understanding between the two of you — the quiet support, the unwavering belief, the love.
When he pulled away, his forehead rested against yours for a beat longer, as if he didn’t want to let the moment slip away. "I couldn't have done it without you," he whispered, his breath warm against your skin.
Noah squirmed in Lando’s arms, eager to get down and join the celebrations. Lando carefully set him down, and Noah immediately ran off toward the McLaren crew, who were cheering and clapping for the win.
As Noah ran off, Lando turned to you, the full weight of the victory finally sinking in.
“I didn’t think it was going to happen, not with the rain, not with Max so close,” he admitted, his voice quiet. “I almost lost it.”
You smiled softly, brushing a damp strand of hair out of his face. “But you didn’t. You held it together, even when it was tough.”
Lando nodded, his heart full. “I had to. For you, for Noah. I couldn’t let this slip away.”
“You didn’t. And look at you now.” You cupped his face gently, your thumbs brushing over his wet skin. “You’re amazing, Lando.”
He closed his eyes for a moment, savoring the quiet moment before the world around him started to roar again. But it didn’t matter. He had done it.
The sound of the crowd cheering filled the air, and Lando turned back to watch his team. His crew was celebrating with Noah in the center, lifting him up in excitement. It wasn’t just his victory, it was theirs too. They had all worked for this moment, and Lando could feel the bond between him and his team, his family, stronger than ever.
As the team ushered him toward the podium for the celebrations, he couldn’t stop smiling. His eyes sought yours one more time, and in that glance, everything was clear. This was just the beginning.
As the excitement of the podium celebrations slowly faded, the atmosphere began to settle. The noise of the crowd dimmed as the McLaren team gathered to wind down, still congratulating Lando for his incredible win. It was time for the world to return to normal — at least for a little while.
The rain had stopped during the post-race celebrations, but the sky had once again darkened, and soon enough, the first raindrops began to fall, soft and steady, like a quiet whisper.
Lando was supposed to be getting ready for the press conferences, and Noah had been escorted back to the team’s area, his energy barely contained after all the excitement. But as the minutes ticked by, you found yourself standing near the pit lane, looking around, trying to spot them — Lando and Noah.
They had been with you just moments ago, but now, there was no sign of either of them. You checked the garage. No luck. You headed toward the pit, but nothing. The sound of the rain grew louder, and you could feel the cool droplets on your skin, the familiar scent of wet pavement filling the air.
As you were about to turn back toward the team area, you heard a familiar laugh.
You looked up. There they were.
Lando and Noah were standing near one of the back entrances to the track, the two of them laughing and completely drenched. Lando’s jacket was already soaked, but he didn’t seem to mind. Noah, in his little race suit, was jumping up and down, splashing in the growing puddles, his face glowing with pure joy.
Lando had both arms raised, pretending to be a goalkeeper as he blocked Noah’s wild attempts to splash him with water. They were in their own little world — no race, no press conferences, no podiums, just the rain and the playful chaos of it all.
And for a moment, it felt like everything had slowed down again, just like it had on the track.
You smiled to yourself, watching them. The rain didn’t bother them; if anything, it seemed to make the moment even more special. You could hear Noah shout over the rain, his voice filled with glee, “Come on, Mommy! It’s just rain! You can do it too!”
Lando caught sight of you, his eyes lighting up with mischief. He shrugged with a grin, as if to say it’s just rain, no big deal.
Noah ran toward you, water splashing with every step. “Mommy, come play!” He giggled, his face streaked with joy and raindrops. “It’s fun! Daddy says it’s just rain!”
Lando was right behind him, shaking his head in mock exasperation but his smile betraying the playfulness in his voice. “Come on, babe, it’s just a bit of water. What’s the worst that could happen?”
You could see the way Noah looked up at you with those wide, hopeful eyes. You couldn’t say no.
With a sigh, you gave in. “Fine, fine.”
You stepped forward, and in a moment of complete surrender, you joined them, letting the rain soak through your clothes as you took a running leap into the nearest puddle with Noah. The splash was enormous, and Noah shrieked with delight, running off to jump in the next puddle.
Lando joined you, laughing, as the three of you danced and played under the darkening sky, the rain falling harder now but somehow feeling like the perfect way to celebrate the day.
For that fleeting moment, there was no world beyond the sound of Noah’s laughter, the rain crashing down, and Lando’s teasing calls as he splashed you and Noah. The storm had come back, but instead of being a nuisance, it was the backdrop to a perfect family moment.
“Look at us,” Lando said between laughs, his hair soaked and his face flushed with happiness. “We’re all drenched and I couldn’t be happier.”
You caught Noah as he tried to leap into a particularly big puddle, lifting him up and holding him close. His wet hair clung to his forehead, but his smile never faded.
“This is the best thing ever!” Noah giggled, kicking his feet playfully.
“You sure know how to make a rainy day perfect, don’t you, bud?” Lando said, holding you close as you both watched your son’s joyful antics.
“Just rain,” you said softly, your gaze meeting Lando’s. The chaos of the day had faded into the background. What mattered now was here — this moment, with Lando and Noah, playing and laughing in the rain.
Lando pressed a soft kiss to your forehead, his lips lingering there just a moment longer. “It’s just rain,” he whispered, and for the first time today, you didn’t mind the rain at all.

matchmakers association
Remus lupin x fem!reader ✩ 5k words
Summary: You and Remus are hopeless, but James and Sirius aren’t quitters.
cw: fluff, shy!reader, kind of shy!remus, mutual pining, James and Sirius play matchmakers and are general menaces.
From where Sirius is sitting, it’s impossible to miss the way Remus looks at you, like every word spilling from your lips is the most important thing he’s ever heard. He’s leaning forward just slightly, head tilted in that way he does when he’s fully tuned in, a soft smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. His eyes are warm, attentive, like he’s trying to memorise you.
You're sitting there, fingers nervously twisting in the hem of your jumper, voice barely above a whisper as you recount the dream you had last night. Something about floating books in the library and a talking tabby cat with a monocle who demanded five galleons in overdue fines. You weren’t going to mention it to anyone—it’s ridiculous, really—but when Remus had asked how you slept, it caught you off guard. And you panicked.
Remus laughs, quiet and breathy. He leans in closer, resting his elbows on his knees, watching you like you’ve just gifted him something precious. His grin is effortless, lopsided, and it sends a pulse through your chest that’s so sudden, it borders on painful.
“Did the cat ever get its money?” he asks, mock-serious but clearly enjoying himself.
You blink, startled by the question, and then laugh, a shy, uncertain sound that’s more exhale than voice. “No. I think I woke up before I could pay him.”
“Tragic,” he murmurs, eyes twinkling. “Poor feline economy.”
His eyes crinkle at the corners as he says it, and something in his expression, so open, so achingly kind, threatens to unravel you completely. You glance down, focusing intensely on a loose thread near your sleeve, hoping it distracts from the way your heart feels too big for your chest.
Across the room, Sirius raises a single eyebrow, watching the scene unfold like he’s in on some joke no one else knows the punchline to. He catches your eye briefly, and though his expression is unreadable, it carries that familiar glint of knowing. He definitely knows.
“I—um,” you stammer, the words colliding in your throat like a stack of falling books. “I should head up. I’ve got some work to finish.”
Remus straightens a little, a flicker of something unreadable passing over his face—disappointment? Concern? Whatever it is, it’s gone before you can name it. He nods gently.
“Alright,” he says. “Don’t let the cat find you again.”
You smile despite yourself, a small, fluttery thing that barely reaches your eyes. With a mumbled goodbye, you slip away, still clutching the hem of your jumper in your fist like it’s the only thing anchoring you. You can feel Sirius’s gaze trail after you, all the way to the stairs.
Remus, for his part, doesn’t look away. His eyes stay locked on the doorframe you just disappeared through, unmoving. His brow is furrowed slightly, replaying every word, every laugh, every nervous twitch of your fingers in his mind on an endless loop.
He doesn’t even notice James walking into the room.
James pauses, glancing between Remus and Sirius with a look of dawning confusion. Sirius, who has been watching the whole interaction unfold like it’s the most entertaining show on Earth, lets out a low whistle and leans back in his chair, stretching out leisurely.
“You’ve got to put the poor thing out of her misery,” Sirius says, tone light but threaded with a teasing sharpness. His arms cross over his chest, and the smirk tugging at his lips is all mischief.
Remus blinks, startled. “What are you talking about?” he asks, instinctively defensive. “We—we’re friends, Sirius.”
Sirius doesn’t even blink. “Oh, come off it,” he says smoothly, waving a hand toward the door you’ve just gone through. “You know exactly what I’m talking about, Moony.”
Remus turns away slightly, color rising in his cheeks. Sirius notices, of course. He notices everything.
He glances at James, who’s now standing squarely in the doorway, clearly trying to figure out what he’s walked in on. Sirius grins wider, as though he’s about to share something scandalous. “James,” he calls, sing-song, drawing out the name like it’s the start of a revelation.
“What?” James asks, brow raised.
“Who are we talking about?” Sirius says casually, as though the answer should be obvious.
James frowns, glancing again between the two of them. “Y/N?” he guesses.
Sirius snaps his fingers and points. “Ten points to Gryffindor.”
James raises both eyebrows. “Well yeah, she proper fancies moony.” he says, like it's the most well known thing in the world.
“What? No, that’s—” Remus flushes deeper, stumbling over the words like they’re foreign. “I—I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Mate,” Sirius says, shaking his head like he’s disappointed, “I’ve seen her say more to you in five minutes than she’s said to me in five years. Shame too, must be funny with how you were going on.”
Remus looks like he wants to disappear. “Sirius, no. It’s not—it’s just...”
“You’re sweet on her too,” James says, not unkindly, though the teasing is still evident. “Obviously.”
Remus freezes. His mouth opens like he might deny it again, but no words come out. His eyes flick toward the door, desperate, like maybe you’ll come back and spare him.
Sirius leans forward, wolfish grin on his face. “Just admit it.”
Remus’s face twists in frustration. “It’s not like that, you sods.”
“Sure it’s not,” Sirius says dryly.
Remus stands abruptly, hands clenched into fists, eyes flashing. “Just because you two only ever think with your dicks doesn’t mean I do,” he snaps. “She doesn’t like me, and I don’t—” His voice falters for half a second, but then he sets his jaw. “It’s never going to happen.”
Before either of them can speak, he turns on his heel and storms out, boots echoing against the floorboards, shoulders tight with tension he can’t shake.
The door slams behind him.
Sirius exhales slowly, the grin slipping off his face, replaced by something closer to a grimace. “Always so bloody dramatic with him,” he mutters, not unkindly. There's fondness in the complaint, buried just beneath the surface.
James watches the door for a long beat before glancing back at Sirius, eyes gleaming with quiet amusement. “You thinking what I’m thinking?”
Sirius smirks again, but this time it’s slower, more thoughtful. “Depends,” he says, voice low and conspiratorial. “What are you thinking, Prongs?”
-
“Are you sure this is going to work?” James’s voice wavers just slightly, betraying the flicker of doubt running through him. He leans against the arm of the couch, watching intently as Sirius adjusts a few books on the floor, each one placed at a precise angle, almost too perfect. Sirius is crouched low, a mischievous grin tugging at the corners of his lips as he arranges the trap.
Sirius flashes James a cocky smirk. “Trust me, Prongs. I’ve thought this through. It’s foolproof.” His eyes glint with that familiar spark, the one that always signals trouble.
James doesn’t look convinced, but he sighs and crosses his arms. “If this goes wrong, I’m blaming you, Pads.”
Sirius winks and straightens up, stretching his arms out with exaggerated nonchalance. “If it goes wrong, I’ll take full responsibility, mate. But it won’t. Just wait.”
Over in the corner, you’re completely oblivious to the scheming happening just a few feet away. As usual, your nose is buried in a book, the weight of the world in your hands as you try (and fail) to focus on the words before you. Filled with distractions from thoughts that don’t quite settle.
Remus, unaware of the trap laid before him, strides across the common room, deep in thought. His shoes strike the stone floor with a rhythmic clomp, a sound you’ve grown used to. But this time, it’s louder, as though fate has already decided he’ll make this entrance one for the books. His gaze is fixed ahead, oblivious to the strategically placed book in his path, waiting to trip him up.
Time seems to stretch as Remus’s foot catches the edge of the book, his body pitching forward. For a split second, everything is suspended in midair. His arms flailing in a desperate attempt to catch balance, and then the inevitable happens.
With an almost comical force, Remus stumbles right into you, knocking you back with the unexpected impact. You gasp, breathless, the force of his sudden weight landing in your lap. It’s like the entire room has frozen. Your eyes widen as you look up, heart racing with both surprise and sheer embarrassment.
Remus’s face turns a shade of red you’ve never seen before. He scrambles to get off you, muttering apologies at a rapid-fire pace. “Oh my Merlin, I—sorry! Sorry! I didn’t—” His hands dart about awkwardly, unsure of where to place them, like he might somehow make the situation worse. His gaze is averted, skipping frantically around the room, and finally, in a move that only adds to the embarrassment, he shuffles a few inches away and slumps down beside you, burying his face in his hands in utter mortification.
You, too, are a mess. Desperately wanting to say something, anything, but the words are trapped somewhere in your throat. You look anywhere but at him, at the way his messy hair falls over his forehead or the soft brown of his eyes. It’s impossible to avoid the feeling that the universe is conspiring against you as you twist your jumper hem between your fingers for something, anything, to do with your hands. The silence is deafening, thick with the weight of unspoken apologies and shared embarrassment.
James and Sirius, from across the room, have already collapsed into the nearest armchairs, practically choking on laughter as they watch the disaster unfold.
“Well, that was a disaster,” James mutters under his breath, rubbing his face with both hands. “What happened to the romantic part of the plan, Pads?”
Sirius is doing his best to hold it together, but he’s failing miserably. His shoulders shake with barely contained laughter, though it settles as he takes in the words. “Well it looked bloody romantic in that film, prongs. Not my fault moony is a fucking oaf,” he groans.
Remus is still frozen, staring at the floor as though it might swallow him whole. He hasn’t looked up, not even once. His embarrassment is palpable, radiating off him in waves. You, on the other hand, are fidgeting so violently that it’s a wonder your jumper isn’t a tangled mess by now.
Finally, after what feels like an eternity of silence, Remus lets out a breath and speaks, his voice tight with discomfort. “Are you—um—okay?” His words come out in a hesitant stutter, as if he’s testing the waters before he sinks any deeper. He risks a glance at you, but his eyes immediately flick back down to his hands, his voice cracking with embarrassment. “Sorry again. I really didn’t mean to—”
You shake your head frantically, a flush spreading over you. “I—I’m fine,” you stammer, your voice barely above a whisper. “You just... surprised me.”
Remus shifts uncomfortably beside you, his hands running nervously through his hair as he tries to relieve his awkwardness. “I didn’t mean to cause a scene... I’ll just—” He starts to rise, clearly planning to escape the awkwardness before it swallows him whole.
“Okay,” you whisper, your voice small and strained, too embarrassed to meet his eyes.
-
“Okay,” Sirius drawls, arms crossed as he leans back in an armchair, one eyebrow cocked. “You sure you’ve thought this one through, lover boy?”
James huffs, balancing two mugs of tea precariously in his hands while eyeing the worn, squishy couch near the fireplace. “This isn’t a bloody trap like yours, Pads,” he mutters, “It’s tea. It’s normal. It’s gentle. It’s what normal people do when they’re not trying to orchestrate the demise of moony.”
Sirius snorts, clearly unimpressed. “And your genius plan is what, exactly? Ply them with chamomile until they fall into each other’s arms?”
James sets the mugs down on the coffee table with exaggerated care, glancing over his shoulder to make sure neither Remus nor you have noticed anything amiss. “No,” he says, smoothing out an invisible wrinkle in his jumper. “The plan is to give them five minutes alone by the fire. Quiet, warm, relaxed. Maybe they talk, maybe someone smiles—hell, maybe someone blushes, Pads.”
Sirius clutches his heart mockingly. “Romance and tea? How Evans hasn’t snapped you up yet, I’ll never know.” he whispers, sarcastically.
But James ignores him, walking toward Remus, who’s nose-deep in a tattered copy of Wuthering heights. “Oi, Moony,” he calls casually. “Come sit by the fire for a bit, yeah? Brought you tea. The good kind.”
Remus looks up, eyes narrowing, skeptical. “What do you want?”
“Nothing,” James insists. “Can’t a man just care for his friend? You look like a corpse. You need tea.”
Remus snorts but rises anyway, stretching as he walks toward the couch. James waves him over, then slips off to the other end of the common room with a wink at Sirius, who is now trying not to look like he’s watching intently from behind a rogue transfiguration textbook.
You're already curled up at one end of the couch, a dog-eared paperback open in your lap, thumb nervously tracing the edge of the page. You glance up when Remus sits at the opposite end, a bit stiff, clutching the steaming mug with both hands like a lifeline.
“Hi,” he says after a pause, voice low and careful. His eyes don’t quite meet yours.
“Hi.” You smile, small, unsure, and drop your gaze.
The fire crackles. The silence between you two feels gentler this time, less like a vacuum and more like a space waiting to be filled. You peek at him from the corner of your eye, noting how his hair falls just-so over his forehead, how his fingers tap an absent rhythm against the ceramic of the mug.
Remus clears his throat and shifts a little closer, barely noticeable, but you do.
“You, um… like that book?” he asks, nodding toward the one in your hands.
Your smile returns, small but real. “Yeah. It’s kind of slow, but… nice.”
He nods, encouraged. “Sometimes nice is better than exciting.”
A breathy laugh escapes you, surprised. “I’d say so.”
There’s a flicker of something like confidence in his eyes as he holds your gaze just a moment longer than usual. His shoulder inches closer still, his voice a little warmer now. “I could lend you one, if you want. Something slower. But not boring.”
“I’d like that,” you say, voice barely above a whisper, but it’s the most certain thing you’ve said all day.
And for a moment, just a moment—there’s a softness between you, a glowing hush wrapped in firelight and chamomile steam. He’s looking at you like maybe he understands you, and you’re looking at him like maybe that’s okay.
From across the room, Sirius leans toward James and mutters, “Fucking hell.”
James just grins smugly, arms folded. “Told you. No tripping required.”
But just as the moment settles, as Remus opens his mouth to maybe, maybe, say something more, you glance at the clock above the mantel and visibly stiffen.
“Oh—I have to go. I’ve got the… the thing. For Transfiguration.”
You’re already collecting your book and mumbling apologies before he can respond, a heat blooming like wildfire climbing your neck. Remus stands halfway, as if to follow or say something; he doesn’t.
The silence you leave behind is tangible. Remus drops back onto the couch with a long sigh, fingers curling around the warm mug once again.
James claps Sirius on the shoulder. “Almost, mate. Almost.”
Sirius huffs a quiet laugh, shaking his head. “It has to be next time, I can’t go on like this any longer.”
-
The next few days pass in a strange, quiet limbo.
Remus avoids your eyes like they burn. You dodge his like they might catch you saying too much. Something cracked on that couch—small, but sharp. And tea, apparently, couldn’t fix it. Sirius delights in poking the wound. James, more subtle, keeps giving Remus pointed looks like he’s waiting for a confession. He never gets one.
But he does get an idea.
It starts with a note, tucked between the pages of your Advanced Defensive Spells textbook, just as you’re packing up in the common room. The handwriting is messy, but unmistakably meant to be Remus’:
Meet me in the library after dinner? Bring your notes. – R
Your heart stumbles in your chest. It’s short. Simple. But the way your fingers tighten around the parchment says everything it needs to.
-
By the time you make it to the library, the sun has dipped low, and the tall arched windows cast golden shadows that stretch like reaching fingers across the stone floor. The scent of old pages and polished wood settles around you. Picking a table in the far back, quiet, tucked behind a barricade of dust-laced bookshelves, you unpack your notes with hands that won't quite stop shaking.
Remus shows up exactly three minutes later, arms full; parchment, quill, a plethora of battered books. He looks like he’s braced himself for something, an ambush, maybe, or worse, a conversation. But when he spots you already seated, head bowed over your textbook, he clears his throat and slides into the seat beside you like it’s the most natural thing in the world.
“Hey,” he says, softly.
You glance up. Your heart does that stupid flutter again, like it hasn't learned its lesson. “Hey.”
And then… silence.
You both read. Or pretend to. Every turn of the page feels loud, like it echoes between the bookshelves. You sneak glances at him when you’re sure he isn’t looking. He does the same, though less successfully—once your eyes meet for half a second too long, and you both dart back to your notes like they’ve become ancient relics demanding total concentration.
Two aisles over, James and Sirius are crammed behind a bookshelf, wedged between Theories in Transfiguration, Vol. VI and a truly enormous tome on magical law reform. Sirius is lying flat on the floor, chin propped in his hand. James crouches awkwardly behind him, squinting through the slats.
“They’re not even talking,” James whispers, scandalized.
“They’re studying,” Sirius hisses. “In silence. Like psychopaths. I told you we should’ve gone with the spilled ink plan.”
“You wanted to accidentally spill ink on her essay?”
“Disaster leads to bonding!” Sirius insists. “It’s science!”
“We've proved that it doesn't! I think they might deserve to bloody pine after each other forever.”
-
Remus shifts beside you, his brow furrowing ever so slightly as he scans the parchment in front of him. His quill taps an uneven rhythm against the tabletop, a quiet metronome to the silence that’s settled between you. The library around you hums with the soft rustle of pages and the occasional muffled cough, but it all fades beneath the weight of his hesitation.
Finally, after what feels like an eternity, he speaks, his voice low and cautious, but touched with that familiar, curious tilt that always sends a flutter straight through your chest.
“I’m not complaining,” he says, “but… why did you ask me to study with you? You usually study with Lily, don’t you?”
You blink, caught completely off guard. “What? I—Remus, you invited me.”
His head turns slowly toward you, confusion creasing his brow. “No, I didn’t.”
Your heart stutters. Something cold and strange prickles at the base of your spine. You reach into your bag, fingers curling around the folded parchment you’ve been carrying all evening, too nervous to hand over, too unsure of its meaning. You slide it across the table, letting the edges brush his fingertips. “This. I found it in my book. Before dinner. It’s your handwriting.”
Remus stares at the note. His mouth parts slightly, eyes narrowing as he squints at the familiar scrawl. He doesn’t touch it right away, just stares at it like it might suddenly change. Then, moving slowly, almost reluctantly, he reaches into his own satchel. His hand emerges clutching a nearly identical piece of parchment.
You stare.
He stares.
There’s a long, charged pause. Then you both move at the same time, him turning his note toward you, and you leaning forward to read it. The words are unmistakable:
Meet me in the library after dinner? Bring your notes. – Y/N
Your mouth goes dry.
The silence that follows is total, a suspended moment thick with realization. Then, as if on cue, your gazes snap to each other, eyes wide, the truth dawning between you.
“Oh my god,” you whisper.
“Those bastards,” Remus mutters, voice low and vibrating with disbelief. His ears are red, burning with equal parts rage and something else—something closer to hope, quickly doused. He stares at the parchment like it might suddenly start laughing at him. His mouth opens, shuts, opens again, as if he’s caught in a fierce internal war.
“I’m going to kill them,” he mutters, not looking at you, fists clenched around the parchment like it personally wronged him. “I swear I’m going to hex them into next week. I’m so sorry. James and Sirius are convinced that—”
“They’re right,” you interrupt, voice soft but steady, slicing clean through his rising spiral.
Remus freezes.
He doesn’t move. Doesn’t speak. You can feel the weight of his gaze, heavy and unrelenting, burning into you like sunlight through glass.
Your hands twist together in your lap, fingers tangling in your sleeves. Your voice is quieter now, barely more than a whisper. “They were right. The other night… I heard what you said.”
A beat of silence. He doesn’t breathe.
“You heard that?” he says finally, voice hoarse, like it hurts to ask
You nod, still not meeting his eyes. “Yeah. I didn’t mean to overhear. I’d forgotten my quill and came back down. But it’s fine.” You force a small, brittle smile. “Don’t worry about it. I know you don’t… feel that way about me.”
The look that crosses Remus’s face is devastating.
His mouth parts again; shocked, wounded and for a moment, he just sits there, stunned and pale, like the world’s dropped out from under him. Then the words burst out, rushed and raw.
“I was lying when I said I didn't–that it would never happen.”
You blink.
Remus swallows hard, dragging a shaky hand through his hair, which only makes it stand on end. “I panicked. I didn’t mean a single word of it. I just—” He groans and buries his face in his hands, fingers curled against his temples. “I thought if I denied it, I could kill the feeling. Control it. I didn’t think you could ever… possibly feel the same.”
You stare at him, your breath caught somewhere between your lungs and your ribs.
He lifts his head, looking directly at you now, eyes full of something desperate and unguarded. “You barely talk to anyone,” he says quietly. “But when you talk to me, it’s like… it’s like I’m hearing for the first time. And it kills me. That I can’t stop staring. Or thinking. Or wanting—”
He cuts himself off, lips pressed together, eyes still locked on yours like he's trying to memorize the exact way you're looking at him right now.
Your voice is barely audible. “You don’t have to stop.”
Remus freezes again. His brow furrows, as if he thinks maybe he’s misheard. “What?”
You meet his eyes, finally, fully, and it takes everything in you to hold steady, but you do. “Staring. Thinking. Wanting. You don’t have to stop.”
And just like that, the dam breaks.
He exhales like he’s been holding his breath for a month. Something in his posture shifts, his shoulders relaxing, the tension in his jaw unclenching. He leans forward across the table, hands still fisted around the note, but looser now, like he’s letting go of something heavy.
“Y/N,” he says softly, your name like a secret he’s been aching to speak aloud. “I’ve wanted to tell you for so long, but I didn’t want to scare you off. You’re… you’re shy, and I’m…”
“You’re safe,” you interrupt, a tremble in your voice, but the words are clear. “That’s why it scared me. Because I didn’t want to lose that.”
Remus’s eyes go glassy for half a second, like something just cracked open inside him. Then, with slow, careful movements, he reaches across the table and lays his hand, palm-up, beside your notebook. Not demanding. Not pushing. Just there.
An offering.
You stare at it. Your hand twitches.
And then you take it.
His fingers wrap around yours, warm and steady and so gentle you feel like you might come undone from the sheer kindness of it.
From the aisle across the way, a very muffled, triumphant whisper breaks the moment: “I told you! I bloody told you!”
You both whip your heads toward the sound.
There’s a thud. A loud shhh! And then a frantic scuffling of robes and shoe soles.
Remus sighs, but he’s smiling now, really smiling, soft and tired and happy. You’re still holding his hand. He hasn’t let go.
He doesn’t plan to.
“Next time,” he murmurs, eyes crinkling, “we leave them in the library and sneak ourselves somewhere quiet.”
You laugh, surprised and breathless, your forehead falling forward against your joined hands. “Deal.”
-
It’s a lazy Sunday afternoon in Gryffindor Tower, the common room awash in the soft gold of late-winter sunlight. You’re curled up on the windowsill with feet tucked under Remus’ thigh, your head resting against his shoulder. He’s reading, half reading, really, because every few minutes you say something, or shift closer, or just smile at him, and it ruins his concentration completely.
Not that he’s complaining.
Across the room, Sirius and James are playing chess. Sort of. Mostly, they’re watching you and Remus over the tops of their pieces, poorly concealed amusement flickering between them like a game of its own
James nudges a pawn forward without looking. “He’s smiling again.”
Sirius doesn’t even glance up. “He’s always smiling now.”
James leans back in his chair with a theatrical sigh. “Remember when he used to brood by the fire and sigh over his homework?”
“I do,” Sirius says wistfully. “It was like living with a moody Victorian ghost.”
“He had that haunted look.”
“And now,” Sirius says, gesturing vaguely toward the couch with a chess piece, “this.”
“Baby’s all grown up,” James laments, wiping a fake tear from his eye. “Disgusting.” he deadpans.
“You’re just bitter because Lily only just agreed to sit next to you in Potions again.”
James turns, affronted. “She leaned over to ask for my notes last week, Padfoot. It was a turning point.”
Sirius just hums, clearly not buying it, before casting another smug glance at Remus and you.
“Still,” he says, “we were right.”
James grins. “Painfully right.”
Sirius nods solemnly. “They’d still be dancing around each other if we hadn’t stepped in.”
Remus glances up from his book, catching the last bit. He raises an eyebrow. “Are you two talking about your own brilliance again?”
Sirius doesn’t miss a beat. “We’re just saying, without us, you’d still be sending each other tortured glances from opposite sides of the common room.”
You lift your head from Remus’s shoulder, hiding a smile. “We probably would.”
Remus looks at you, a little startled, then softens. “Maybe.”
Sirius gasps. “You admit it?”
James pounds the arm of the chair like he’s won a bet. “Finally.”
Remus sighs, and it’s the long, fond sigh of someone who knows better than to fight it. “Fine. You were right.”
Sirius clutches his chest. “Say it again.”
“I won’t.”
James winks at you. “Don’t worry. He’ll say it eventually. Usually after you leave the room.”
Remus throws a cushion at him, and James ducks with a laugh.
You nudge Remus gently, still looking over at the two boys, and he turns to you, instantly softening again when he sees your face.
“You were right,” you agree. “Even if you’re unbearable about it.”

jun - a kiss on the cheek while taking pictures in a photo booth
“ooh this frame looks cute! do you wanna do this one?”
jun smiled at your energy. “whatever you want, bubs. i’m following your lead.”
he stood back as he watched you take the lead, clicking through the different settings of the photobooth. when you finished, you rushed over to his side with an excited smile. “okay, quick! there’s a timer and we have to finish within that time!”
the big, red number began to count down and the two of you stood against the wall. outstretching two fingers, you made posed for the camera and jun followed your example. the machine made a loud click sound as it took the first photo.
“again! okay, what pose should we do next? ooo! jun, grab the kitty hairbands!”
the next few snapshots were taken of you and jun posing with the kitty hairbands provided by the store. jun made a loud meow for one, making you burst into laughter, which the camera caught perfectly in time. jun, with his handsome face scrunched up mid-meow and you, your mouth wide open and your eyes closed as you laughed.
“eww! i hate that photo, we’re not choosing that one.” you said mid-giggle.
“why? it’s cute. i think it explains our dynamic perfectly,” jun grabbed you by the shoulder and tugged you closer to him. “okay, last one. cheese!”
the screen began counting down again and you leaned closer into jun’s shoulder, getting ready to pose for the camera again. as the number got closer to zero, jun glanced down at you, frozen still, waiting for the camera to take the last photo.
“4… 3… 2…. ” the robotic voice from the machine counted down.
taking a deep breath, jun closed his eyes shut and dipped his head. it was a quick kiss, so soft and gentle, like cloud resting on the peak of a mountain. brief moment of contact before drifting away.
jun’s lips felt soft against yours and you let a soft gasp. your jaw dropped in surprise as the camera flashed with another loud click.
your knees wobbled, as if gravity had suddenly shifted around you. there was tightening feeling in your chest as you looked over at jun. he looked at you with a gentle, apologetic smile.
“sorry, i should’ve asked.”
the world seemed to still, each beat of your heart pounding loudly against your chest. the way jun was looking at you sent a cascade of warmth spiraling through your entire body and you smiled.
“it’s okay… i liked it.”
hoshi - grabbing you by the belt loops of your jeans
you could feel someone’s heavy gaze set on you and you already knew whose set of eyes the stare belonged to. listening to your other friend talk about his chemistry lab with a really hot dude, you glanced over your shoulder and made instantly eye contact with soonyoung.
he was on the other side of the gym, his elbows resting on his legs as he watched you with an unreadable look in his eyes. deciding to be obnoxious, you stuck your tongue out at him and his lips tugged up into a tight grin, one that didn’t quite reach his eyes like they usually did.
“sorry, but i think one of the teachers are looking for me.” you dismissed yourself from the small circle of friends. your friends waved you good bye and turned back to resume their gossiping session where they were trying to decide whether the hot guy from one of their chemistry labs swung both ways.
you jogged across the gym, dodging equipment and other students and staff who were getting ready for the annual homecoming rally. you and soonyoung both applied to asb your sophomore year of high school, desperate for some kind of extracurricular to pad your college application with. although being in your school’s asb came with a lot of responsibilities, it was fun when you did it with your friend(? situationship?).
soonyoung was sitting at the bottom bench of the bleachers, his face resting on his palm and his eyes watching you intently as you approached him.
“what’s got you pouting? did seungcheol yell at you again?” you stood in front of him with your hands resting on your hips and a small smile. “come on, cheer up soonie. i promised to buy you frozen yogurt after this.”
he pushed himself up to his feet, now towering over you with his height. “you promised to do the banners with me.”
soonyoung’s bottom lip jutted out in an almost adorable way and you physically stopped yourself from cooing at him.
“is that why you’re upset? because i ditched you and the banners?” you smiled and soonyoung nodded.
“you left me to hang out with those…” his words faltered and you glanced back to see the group of friends still gossiping. the discussion seemed to be getting pretty heated with the way you could hear seungkwan’s voice steadily growing in volume.
“them? we were just–“ you turned back to face soonyoung when you felt a gentle tug on your waist. stumbling forward, you now stood barely inches away from him. “soonyoung, what-”
he tried his best to avoid eye contact, his eyes darting around the gym as he nervously licked his lips.
“wndedootbewsjfhme...” soonyoung mumbled. his grip tightened on your belt loop, pulling you closer to him, your body now grazing his.
“h-huh? wh… i can’t hear…” it was your turn to avoid eye contact now. your heart hammered against your chest, fast and hot in anticipation.
“i said… i wanted you to be with me…” soonyoung muttered. his ears were flushed, a bright shade of red that brought a small smile to your face.
“w-what, are you jealous or something?” you teased as an attempt to cover up how loud your heart was beating in your ears.
soonyoung grinned. his shy and timid demeanor from seconds ago was nowhere to be found. in it’s place was the soonyoung you knew, complete with the overly confident and cocky smile accompanied by the mischievous glint in his eyes.
“what if i am? is that going to change anything?”
wonwoo - leaving his game to give you attention
“wonwooooooo” you cried out. wonwoo let out a small grunt in response. “i’m boreddddd”
you perched yourself on the edge of his desk, watching his focused eyes stare at the monitor in front of him. his fingers were moving at a lightning fast speed, but his facial expressions demeanor seemed to scream calm and relaxed.
“you’re bored?” wonwoo echoed your last words and you nodded. although his eyes never left his screen, you could tell he was paying you the utmost attention he could currently afford. “hmmm… how can we fix that?”
leaning your head on wonwoo’s shoulder, you pouted. “i want you to play with me, not your games.”
wonwoo laughed. the corners of his eyes had a slight wrinkle and you felt something tugging at your heartstrings. “is that right?”
with a few clicks of his mouse, his monitor turned dark and his pc chirped, alerting him that the system had been shut down.
“wha-? you were in the middle of a game-“
wonwoo took off his headset and ruffled his hair with a hand, trying to fix it after hours of wearing a headset. “doesn’t matter. you’re more important.”
you felt your breath catch in your throat as you felt heat creeping up your skin, reaching your cheeks and the tips of your ears.
woozi - initiating pda in public first
it was loud. the football stadium was packed with students decked out in school spirit, and you could barely feel your fingertips from the biting cold.
“jihoon…” your fingers tugged on his sleeve and jihoon spared you a glance before leaning closer to you to hear you better in the loud crowd. “i’m cold...”
he looked at you and smiled. “told you to bring a jacket.”
“this is a jacket!” you retorted.
“this?” jihoon laughed. you could see a twinkle of amusement in his eyes as he looked over your outfit. “honey, this jacket is basically a cropped top on steroids. you seriously expected this to keep you warm in this weather?”
you felt the tips of your ears burning at the new nickname he called you, but you couldn’t help but feel a pang of disappointment. that wasn’t the response you expected–or wanted.
“you’re being mean!” you whined, but a small laugh escaped your lips at the way jihoon faux-frowned at you. you lightly shoved his shoulder. “i’m being serious, it’s not about the jacket.”
jihoon raised a brow. “what could this possibly be about then?”
“it’s about…” you trailed off and shook your head. “never mind. it’s nothing.”
you crossed your arms over your chest and turned back to face forward. a wave of embarrassment washed over you, serving as a wake up call. sure, you and jihoon had some thing going on, but you felt silly for expecting him to hold your hand or hug you in front of almost the entire school.
jihoon was a private person. that was a fact that you knew that better than anyone else. he wasn’t one to initiate physical contact when it was just the two of you, let alone in the middle of a busy high school football game.
“[name],” jihoon spoke quietly in your ear, his warm hand grazing against yours. “[name], look at me.”
when you didn’t respond, he let out a small puff, followed by a small laugh.
“c’mere” jihoon muttered. he wrapped his arm around your waist and tugged you closer to his side. “they say sharing body heat helps.”
you stared blankly at him. the colony of butterflies in your stomach seemed to migrate to your heart and you swallowed thickly.
“wh- what if someone sees?”
jihoon let out a half snort. “let them see. i don't care”
note: jihoon had extremely red ears during this entire exchange, and no, it wasn’t because of the cold. trust me.
reblogs and feedback is always appreciated ^-^

SVSSS BRAINWAVE JUST HIT! I HAD A THOUGHT ™
An average modern person transmitigates into SVSSS. Mind you, I specifically mean SVSSS and not PIDW. That’s right, our protagonist awakens to find themselves as a NPC in the world of Scum Villain Self Saving System. And they think to themselves upon waking up, “Oh, I’m an NPC in a xianxia novel with a happy ending! Cool!!” and goes about their life being a background nerd geeking out about plants, and monsters, and cultivation in general, and neat flying swords.
But this is a world of sex pollen and wife plots and unfortunately the cure for a lot of diseases is duel cultivation with a heavenly demon, and we all know who that demon is going to end up marrying, so it’s best to mess around with meta cultivation knowledge and prep for the worst case scenario, and honestly, they may as well solve some of the minor issues in the plot while their at it, so they invent some new cultivation techniques from some of those nifty svsss fanfictions they read while alive (I’m specifically thinking of this fic’s explanation of duel cultivation and cauldrons, but other weird cultivation methods could be used from other fanfics and xianxia books), so they can tidy up some things.
For instance, is it really necessary for Zhuzhi-lang to be stuck as a weird snake creature for nearly twenty years? Is it really needed for Yue Qingyuan to have crippled cultivation due to his sword?? Does Tianlang Jun have to be stuck under a mountain and then escape only to slowly die in a decomposing body??
They know they can’t change everything without the system interfering, but small nudges should help right? After all, they’re just a background NPC and Shen Yuan will show up eventually and everyone will fall in love with him and no one will even notice the NPC’s existence even if they had noticed something was up during their miraculous healing and salvation spree.
So they go about fixing those things. They catch Zhuzhi-lang unawares and feed him a sun and dew mushroom seed while he’s confused and do some funky cultivation shenanigans and pat him on the head cause he’s really such a cute weird snake creature and give him some vague warning about not trusting in laws and then fucks off to somewhere else.
I’m still caught up on Metagaming’s concept of duel cultivation transactions where you give and take—like taking something from someone’s cultivation, not just power, and returning something else—and keep getting stuck in a brainrot loop of the NPC taking some bloodmite powers from Zhuzhi-lang when they gave him a fully humanoid form that’s not reliant on Tianlang Jun. So my main idea for how the NPC plots to hold Yue Qingyuan in place is feeding him lesser bloodmites (not full ones because they only took a minor ability and can only hold someone for a few minutes before the bloodmites die), while they hold Yue Qingyuan still long enough to draw some ritual to heal his soul and separate it from Xuan Su. But honestly, I’m sure other ideas could apply here too. My Metagaming brainrot is just too strong right now to think of any.
And Tianlang Jun? Simple. Zhuzhi-lang’s got a humanoid form and can easily get the sun and dew mountain flowers for himself. They can’t stop the man from being imprisoned entirely. The system says no since Luo Binghe needs a dramatic entrance. So while they can’t stop the tragedy, they can put some pieces into play for an early escape, maybe a new plan to get him a better body once’s he’s back, and be a ferry for Su Xiyan’s body to revive her at some point as well.
It’s nice being an unnoticeable NPC, isn’t it? You can do whatever you want and no one’s going to know!!
Except. Someone does notice (as we all could have seen coming). And Shen Qingqiu is suspicious as fuck of this obnoxious Shidi because he notices everyone due to paranoid, and he’s even MORE suspicious of the mysterious character that healed Yue Qingyuan’s soul (and wasn’t that a doozy of a realization to have when Yue Qingyuan burst into his bamboo house one day freaking out because some disguised, powerful cultivator somehow did the impossible after ambushing him and holding him down as they healed his soul, and Shen Qingqiu is still reeling from learning that Yue Qingyuan’s SOUL was damaged trying to save Xiao Jiu and the stubborn asshole never told him because he apparently assumed Xiao Jiu knew there wasn’t a single universe where Qi ge didn’t try to come for him). And so yea, Shen Qingqiu is suspicious as all hell and starts snooping and plotting to catch the mysterious cultivator by combing through Cang Qiong because whoever it is has to have an in at the sect somewhere to know about Yue Qingyuan’s soul.
And that’s not even mentioning how suspicious Zhuzhi-lang and Tianlang Jun are now. They might not have realized what that strange cultivator did when they did it, or understood the cryptic in law mention, but they certainly have some suspicions now that Tianlang Jun was as imprisoned by in law like people, and Zhuzhi-lang kept his humanoid form just fine without Tianlang Jun, and now the hunt is ON for the mysterious benefactor, so they can repay the kindness and find out what the fuck is going on.
The NPC is, of course, oblivious to all of this going on and goes about their merry way thinking they’re being the Best ™ at being lowkey. They are SO good at being inconspicuous!! They deserve an award really!!
And then. Shen Qingqiu doesn’t qi deviate.
Shen Yuan doesn’t show up.
Oh shit, the NPC thinks to themselves as they begin to panic. They even check Shen Qingqiu out themselves to see if it’s Shen Yuan just being really good at acting. Maybe he was a better actor in the book than he gave himself credit for or something?? But no. That’s Shen Qingqiu all right. Shen Yuan is missing in action, and someone has to fix the plot of Cang Qiong is doomed.
Thus begins the NPC’s journey to try and unobtrusively fix PIDW’s child abuse problems (that they’re unaware are already fixed), save Liu Qingge from his qi deviation in Ling Xi Caves, make sure Luo Binghe doesn’t raze the sect to the ground someday and hopefully find him some sort of husband replacement to keep him under control when he does return, possibly dispose of the Huan Hua Palace Master at some point because he’s vile trash, and did I mention there are multiple man hunts for this poor oblivious dude currently on going??
And the most important question for them to solve? Where the fuck did Shen Yuan go??
Hmm I wonder where that man could have gone.
#dumbfuck system seems to have made an error#how long do you think it’ll take him to realize he’s Shen Yuan with a bad memory??#it’s gonna take him a hot minute that’s for sure#I love putting Shen Yuan in Situations ™#basically the system kidnapped post canon Shen Yuan and sent him back in time under the belief that his previous life was a book#the system is having a blast okay it’s just fucking with him at this point#brainwashed shen yuan NPC au#mxtx hell#mxtx svsss#svsss au#svsss#svsss fanfiction#svsss fic#svsss shen qingqiu#svsss shen yuan#svsss shen jiu#shen qingqiu#shen jiu#shen yuan#liu qingge#tianlang jun#zhuzhi lang#yue qingyuan#qijiu#jiuyuan#liushen#bingqiu#shen qingqiu deserves a harem#scum villain self saving system#scumbag system

Getting Away with It
I almost got away with it. Truthfully, I didn't even know I would go as far as taking him out. But I mean he had it coming, I heard all the horrible things he had done that I could hear through the penthouse walls in the building I worked in. All the times he'd abuse a partner, slur people in the halls, not to mention act like he was a god because he made good money in sales or whatever.
He crossed a line one day, as I saw him nudge someone into the street nearly getting them hit by a bus. So sure was it right to take him out? Maybe not, but did I feel good taking one bad person off the streets...absolutely. Unfortunately, what I did was caught on camera and the legal system takes that narrative with no context and runs with it.
So I mean yeah I almost got away with a drastic good deed. But now I'm here on a life sentence for murder. I like routine in my day and in here the days are so regimented it's not exactly the kind of routine I find myself a fan of. I remained on good behaviour until the guards took pity on me and recommended me for supervised community service aid. Basically, still in jail but instead of working a job in jail, I could go out and help them clean garbage off the side of the road with parolees on the outside and random others doing a "good deed."
That's where I met Jacob. He was on parole for driving while intoxicated. Truthfully, I find that way worse than what I did. Like that feels so selfish...getting behind the wheel while drunk. Despicable. But clearly it's been the catalyst for him to turn his life around. He was in jail for a year and been on parole ever since. He started working out in jail while getting certified as a trainer. There aren't alot of jobs life after lockup that don't discriminate against you for your record so it makes sense that he'd want to do something where you can be your own boss.
We were in the van being taken to the stretch of highway in between developing parts of the city. It's crazy how looking north and south you can see parts of town and smack in the middle there's this road with tall weeds and shrubbery lining it. We were joined by a class of university student volunteers who were advised to keep their distance from us. Something we all sort of ignored since there's so much trash to pick up.
"Hey Lu, I gotta show you this thing this crazy old hippie gave me back in town." Jacob quietly told me as we scoured the brush for bottles.
"Dude we have things to do and I don't really want them to take me off this shift." I begrudgingly replied.
"Nah nah the guards aren't even looking at us they're flirting with the female students over there."
Sure enough our bozo headed guards were chatting it up with some girls that were supposed to be helping us. That's when I glanced over and saw Jacob holding what looked like an antiqued golden coin or rounded stone with a symbol scratched into it.
"The dude gave it to me in a box and said if you hold it in your hand and then make skin-to-skin contact with someone else you like transfer consciousness."
"So I see life on the outside is just as crazy as it is in here."
"You mean to tell me you don't even think it could be a little bit true? C'mon bro this could be your chance to get out out of jail. Shit if you don't try it I might as well. I'm tired of all these probationary restrictions. I just wanna hit restart."
"You're already out. It can't be that bad?" I said as I turned around to see him sneakily hurrying off towards one of the college students.
"Shit what is he doing."
I rushed over to where Jacob was and pulled him by the loops of his jeans to not cause a scene. Stopping straight next to one of the students picking up trash a little bit away from his group.
"Dude I don't know what you're aiming to do but if it doesn't work you're the one that's going to look like the insane paroled convict with an ambiguous item in his hand that could be misconstrued as a weapon."
"Listen, if it works it works, but if it doesn't there's no harm no foul and we can call it all a joke."
Before I could even protest, Jacob turned on his confident charisma to whistle over the nearby student. As the curious student walked closer I could hear the narrative Jacob was intricately weaving pretending to care about what he was studying and if he could tell us both more about it.
"I'm so sorry kid, I didn't even catch your name. I'm Jacob and this is Lu." he said with a devlish smile.
"I'm Mark." he said with a slight hesitance.
"Well Mark you shared so much with me can I share something with you? A party game you can take with you to your friends back at school?"
"Uh sure yeah."
"So you find a smaller coin or stone and one person places their hand on the bottom of it and the other on top. The person with their hand on the bottom has to try to and tap the person with their hand on top without flinching"
These rules made absolutely no sense and why would they Jacob's plan was himbo incarnate. Like it was so dim I could see Mark tense up and begin to shift away back towards his friends. He tried to say goodbye to Jacob but that's when I saw this crazed energy flood Jacob's eyes. The next things that happened felt like a blur in slow motion.
Mark turned around to return to his classmates with haste. Jacob quickly began following without running to not alert the guards yet shouting for him to wait up because it's all good fun. And before I knew it I took off running to stop Jacob from taking advantage of an innocent person.
Jacob leaped at Mark and tackled him to the ground but it's only the moment when I got there to break it up did the guards finally notice what was going on, rushing over.
He pulled the stone out and tried to grasp at Marks leg under his wider legged jean, while I reach out to stop that hand. THEN BAM. Everything became darker and several flashes of light happened.
When I came to the guards were pulling me up. I heard what I thought was Mark's voice saying the one in the jumpsuit attacked him. But I didn't run after him? As things pulled back into focus for my eyes after the darkened haze. I saw Mark being calmed down by a professor and a guard but then I saw who he was point at.....I was my body but I was to the other side.....
My body turned to me matching my confused expression and began crying hysterically asking what was going on. I looked down and saw the confirmation of what happened. I was wearing Jacob's clothing. And if my body's surprised too....then that means....God no!
The guards rangled up the convicts and put them all shackled back onto the van as another came to apologize to the university professor and her class along with "Mark". Another guard came up to me saying he knows that Lu is a murderer and that I didn't start any of this so I was getting a slap on the wrist, especially after "Mark" insisted I tried to stop the attack. The guards left and told the rest of us we could go.
The student approached me with that same devilish smile I recognized from before. His voice coming out unfamiliar in sound but with an all too familiar malice.
"Hey thank you again from saving me from that gruesome murderer mister. I didn't even catch your name. I'm Mark." he said with a wink.
"Jacob what the fuck are you doing?" I frantically asked.
"I'm giving you a way to get away with it all and me a clean start. But I gotta go back to school so here take my number down." the imposter student airdropped his details to me before scurrying away.
I was still in shock from everything that just happened. Like this cannot be real how the hell is this happening. Where do I go okay I can do this. I fumbled through my wallet as I searched for an address to head to. Eventually I made my way to Jacob's place. It was a hotel that was turned into extended stay studio.
I walked into the foreign "home" that was now all mine. My heart felt like it was going to explode out of my chest. This can't be happening that poor kid is now in jail. Oh god....wait. I'm not on the run why am I this stressed. Think think how do I fix this. An exercise ball peaked out from the side of the bed. My new athletic stature made me think maybe catering to it's physical senses could help me breath and calm down.
I did a few crunches but still felt a pang of guilt hitting my stomach. Oh god I need to fix this but where is the coin? I can't leave that kid incarcerated, that's robbing him of his whole life. Almost like clockwork my new phone buzzed with a text.
"Hey. Thanks again for saving me stud." the unknown number made itself known with that context.
"Jacob we need to fix this. That poor kid doesn't deserve this."
"Who's Jacob? This is Mark! And I think I deserve all the opportunity I've worked hard to get. Hey by any chance have bodily urges hit you? I'm not gay but after the incident when I saw you I got realllll hard all of sudden. I think this kid's gay or something."
I was furious reading these texts still skirting responsibility.
"Enough! Where are you we have to talk this is ridiculous."
The phone buzzed as I opened to see a location pin as a picture came in...my jaw dropped.
"Oh you wanna meet irl daddy? Come on over."

I stormed over to the location of the pin…I’m not going to let him get away with this.

not a lot, just forever // oneshot part three
a/n: the last of the bday oneshots for my favorite trio <3 this one hit a little different for me and i think its because i've never written post war canon-adjacent shigs before so this was really healing <3 happy birthday tomutomu i love you foreverrr
keigo takami, touya todoroki, tomura shigaraki
it’s still so frustratingly embarrassing for tomura; the glances glazing over him by the passersby, being present, taking up space, all of it. despite all of the time that had passed and the constant work in therapy and counseling, nothing was harder than existing.
“i want to go inside,” tomura mutters, his gloved fingers tapping against his outstretched legs.
it was a bit humid, and the sun was beating down on the two of you, but you knew tomura was itching for a hoodie to hide under. he desperately wanted to be invisible.
“this is nice though, isn’t it?” you sigh in content, leaning your head back and letting the sunlight engulf your face. “i don’t remember the last time i was able to sit in a park like this.”
“it feels too open.”
“does it feel too open or are you just too used to being trapped?” you squint your eyes open, slightly peering over at him next to you on the bench.
he scoffs and kicks your foot with his. you catch the end of his eye roll and take it as an opportunity to scoot in closer, letting your thighs graze together.
“sorry,” you whisper, resting your head on his shoulder. “i know it’s hard.”
hard wasn’t the word tomura would use to describe his recovery process. he felt lost- as if he had been dumped in the middle of the desert with no sense of direction, and the worst of it all was that it was lonely.
spinner had written his book. dabi was in his family’s care. toga was off in quirk counseling. you were rapidly progressing. he was nothing.
“what do i do now?” he whispers back to you- something that you two often did for a private moment when you caught each other in the hallways of the rehabilitation center.
“we,” you emphasize, looping your arm in tomura’s, “are free to do whatever we want.”
“we…” he slowly repeats, “you know, you don’t have to stick with me anymore,” he half heartedly chuckles, “you can do whatever you want now that we’ve graduated from this bullshit.”
you think back on those late nights at the hideout when you two would be the only ones up. you'd be sitting at the bar, knees to knees, closely leaning into one another, talking in hushed tones, and exchanging light touches as you pass an energy drink back and forth.
you remember those times fondly where you could pretend to be anyone else, but there was always that looming dread in the back of your head during those days.
this won’t last forever.
i can’t get too attached.
i’ll love you for as long as i can.
here you were now, side by side as things turned out wildly different from what you expected- that the next time you’d see tomura would be in the afterlife.
you’ve spent too long shutting down any thought of the future that envisioning it now leads to a scribbled mass of grey in your mind. you couldn’t visualize it. no plan. no expectancies. nothing. you had nothing to be sure of except for the fact that you and tomura were here and alive.
where else would you want to be?
you don’t say anything except for a hm that you breathed out.
tomura’s deep exhale almost nudges you off of his shoulder. you’re half tempted to peer up at his face to gauge his expression, but the fidgety hands in his lap already gives away his feelings as the beat of silence passes.
“you remember what we talked about? all those years ago when we were hiding out at that shitty bar?”
“we talked a lot, babe,” you lightly chuckle, “you’re going to have to be a bit more specific than that.”
“about what we’d do if things were different.”
“rob a bank and leave japan with new identities?” you joke.
tomura deadpans, “dumbass, i’m talking about the last night that… you know.”
the last night you were you?
“oh that conversation,” you mutter, uncomfortably shifting in your seat, "remind me what we talked about?”
“you don’t remember?”
truthfully, it would be impossible for you to forget when that conversation was the only thing that got you through the agonizing nights in the hospital room when you thought you had been the only survivor.
“i do, but i like hearing you talk so remind me anyway.”
tomura responds with an annoyed huff, “well if you remember, then i’m not going to repeat it. i just mentioned it because clearly neither of us know what the fuck we’re going to do with our lives after this.”
you unloop your arm from his and sit up, making him snap his attention towards you. it was the first time today that he looked you in the eyes. his cheeks were flushed from the sun- the first sign of life in his face in a long time after the limited outside time allotted from the rehab facility.
“we talked about wanting a quiet life,” you quietly say, reaching your hand up to tuck a tuft of his shaggy hair behind his ear. “not in the country though. you wanted to stay in the city for the convenience, so maybe a nice little apartment. you still want that?”
he slowly nods his head. “think so.”
from his ear, your hand trails down to his jaw and neck, running across old scars from deep scratches.
“and i specifically remember you being so mad at me when i laughed at you when you said you didn’t give a fuck about anything else as long as you could have a dog.”
“still want one,” he mutters.
“and then…” you continue slowly, resting your hand on the rough skin of his neck, “i told you that i was a cat person, but i didn’t care as long as we…”
you couldn’t bring yourself to finish the sentence. it had always been an unwritten rule to never talk about the “what ifs” and “what could’ve beens” in the hideout, but you always loved breaking the rules, and tomura loved entertaining your thoughts.
the tips of his ears began to match the blush on his cheeks.
“keep going,” he barely whispers, keeping his eyes locked on yours- one of the small meaningful things that he had grown to do over the last few years in therapy.
“as long as we could be together. i just wanted to be with you.” you quietly say. “i still do. if that's okay."
a beat of silence passes. a life with you. a dog and maybe a cat. nothing else. no expectations. just you and whatever "normal" life you two could live.
“we should…” he trails off for a moment, thinking of the right words to say, “get married?”
you blink one. twice.
“hah?” you exclaim, recoiling back.
your hand slaps onto the back of the bench to leverage yourself through the motion.
“what?” his face deepens in color “what else are we supposed to fucking do?"
“how did we go from yeah i want to move into an apartment and raise a dog with you to marriage?” you laugh, almost unbelieving.

tomura turns his head away from you, looking off in the other direction as he curses at himself. he doesn’t know how to tell you that yes, that’s exactly what he wants too- that existing may be hard, but he wants nothing more than to do it with you.
his face is burning from the embarrassment, but you’re still giggling to yourself and he can’t resist himself from turning back to watch.
you two have never dared to utter “i love you” to one another before, but in that moment , he felt it on the tip of his tongue and for once, he’s not afraid to let it out.
“i love you, okay?” he says confidently, but his eyes are unable to meet yours until you force them to.
you reach up and hold his face in your hands, bringing him in closely. “i love you,” you lightly run your thumbs across the apples of his cheeks as his eyes dart back and forth between yours, “and we should get married."

Hey Revel!!! :) It’s my 23rd birthday today, and I was wondering if we could get some Kup smut and/or fluff??? Maybe some fluffy smut??? There really is not enough thirsty content for that old bot 😭 Have a fantastic day, darling!!! (Also here’s some souls I got from the market hehe)
Sure! Happy Birthday!
18+ Mass displaced mech 🌶️

Scenario- Nightmares
Kup x Reader
• “Kid?” Startling awake, heart racing, for a disorienting moment you have no idea where you are. Details of the nightmare blending with reality as you lash out, back of your hand hitting something unyielding that hurts and an arm hooks around you, Kup’s other hand catching your wrists as he sits up and drags you into his lap. Kup. Shuddering as the fight drains out of you to leave only embarrassed shame. For freaking out over a dream. And his chin rests on top of your head, free hand against your ribs. “You’re okay.”
• Can feel the frantic beat of your heart, your pulse as he feathers a servo against the inside of your trapped wrists. And he knows that feeling, to be caught in a nightmare, unable to tell reality from your own imagination. Had been there. Tries not to think of that world, being poisoned and driven to madness. Killing those sent to rescue him because he only saw monsters. “Sorry,” you murmur and he brushes his cheek against yours. Not about to push, because some things are better worked out on your own even if he doesn’t like that you’re apologizing when there’s nothing to apologize for. “Distract me. Please?”
• Turning when he releases your wrists, you shift to straddle him and his head lowers, helm brushing your forehead. Those optics seeing far too much as you loop your arms around his neck. Needing him, to remind yourself that you’re okay, that he’s right here with you. That this is reality, not that nightmare. And he’s cupping your cheek in a big hand, expression worried. About you. Leaning up, you brush your mouth against his and he growls against you, a hand sliding up your bare spine. Mouth sliding against yours as his palm slides down to cup your butt and drag you flush against him. Giving you what you want.
• “Slow down, sweetspark,” he growls head lifting and you brush kisses against his jaw and neck, rocking yourself against him. Still can’t believe you chose him with so many younger, eligible bots around, but he’s definitely not complaining. Had started as your protector, the two of you growing closer until you’d become his world. This hapless little organic so lost and out of your element, clueless on how to survive out here and needing him in a way no one’s needed him in a long time. Growling a protest when you lift up in his lap, he hooks an arm around you, mouth sliding over your body, finding those sensitive spots that make you whimper and tremble, reach to hold his helm to you.
• Warm mouth licking, kissing, and biting, you shiver. Not even sure when he released his spike until you shift and feel it leave a damp trail against your inner thigh. “Kup,” you whimper in protest, his arm tightening around you when you slide yourself against him. Needing to feel him inside you and he finally relents. Lets you reach between your bodies to guide his spike to yourself with a moan. Feel him stretching you as you ease down on him and his hands slide up your sides.
• “No patience at all, huh, kid?” Groaning as you look up at him and roll your hips, his servos flex against you. And he’s one to talk. Because the feel of your wet heat fisting his spike is an exquisite torture, tempting him. And you’re definitely no kid, but he can’t stop himself from teasing you. Especially as you lazily move against him in no real hurry now that you’ve gotten your way. Hooking an arm around you, he rolls you under him, smiling at your startled laugh. Hips pumping and you hook your legs around him. Needing to prove to himself that he’s not too old for this, because being inside you reminds him that he’s not nearly done yet. That it’s not too late.
• Arching as his spike strokes deep, hips pumping against yours while he growls, you dig your heels into him with a moan, urging him on. Listening to the wet sound of your bodies meeting, his spike moving inside you, and your own ragged cries mixing with his rough venting. And his mouth crashes against yours, kissing you with the same urgency as his thrusts. Clutching him to you as he ruthlessly drives you to that peak, and you hear him murmuring against your lips as his venting warms your skin. “Come on, Sweetspark, come with me.” His hand palms one of your thighs, pushing it up higher, shifting his angle until you shatter with a cry. Feel his spike stroking deep as he bucks against you with a snarl, shuddering against you, he fills you and rests his helm against your forehead.

Big Brother's Wedding Part 2 – Glen Powell
Part 1
I checked my watch before going outside. I had enough time to walk along the beach for a little while before I had to be back for the wedding. I was on my way back when I stopped. I closed my eyes and listened to the waves.
"Your brother was looking for you."
I turned around to see Glen walking toward me. I picked up my dress and met him halfway.
"Is he okay?"
"He's fine," he smiled. "He just wants. . ."
"What?" I asked when he didn't continue. I held my breath as he looked me up and down. "Is something wrong? Glen?"
"Wow," he whispered. "Y/N, you look beautiful."
My face burned when his eyes returned to mine. I reached up and subconsciously tucked a piece of hair behind my ear.
"Shannon really wanted all the bridesmaids in this color," I started to nervously ramble. "I was hesitant. I don't think I look good in this color, but you can't argue with the bride. At least the cut of the dress is flattering. And the slit's not too high."
"I think you look gorgeous."
I studied his eyes, trying to unscramble my thoughts. Glen has always been sweet to me. He's always had my back. He and Matt have always protected me. To be honest, I never thought Glen would ever look at me the way I looked at him. I always thought that he thought I was his younger sister. Never anything more.
"Thanks," I finally said. "You look red carpet ready."
My comment made him laugh. "At least, this time, I won't be the one everyone is focused on. I'm looking forward to fading into the background."
"I don't think you could ever fade into the background," I teased. Glen laughed as he walked over and grabbed my hand. I didn't do anything as he looped my arm through his and escorted me back to the venue.
"I'm worried," I whispered. I felt Glen look at me but I didn't return it.
"Worried about what?" He asked gently.
"About Matt," I said slowly, "getting married."
"He's going to be fine," Glen said, still not sure where I'm going with this.
"I adore Shannon," I tried to clarify. "But I'm worried that things are going to change once Matt's married. Change with him and me."
"Well," he said, pausing to think about his next words, "some things will change. He's getting married. But nothing is going to change with you and Matt. You two have always been extremely close. Nothing is ever going to change that, Y/N."
"I know," I sighed. "Deep down, I know that."
"All else fails," he said, trying to lighten the tension I had caused, "you got me. If your brother is caught up in married life, just give me a call. I'll come rescue you."
* * * * *
As the music played, Glen and I got ready to walk down the aisle. Every time I looked at him, my heart jumped into my throat and I couldn't form words.
"Don't let me trip," I whispered right before we started to walk down the aisle.
"Don't worry," Glen chuckled. "I won't let you fall."
Without another word, we walked down the aisle. Every second we walked, my stomach jumped all over. I couldn't settle my nerves. I felt like my legs were shaking so badly that I was seconds away from falling. I couldn't tell if Glen was making things better or worse.
Throughout the ceremony, my eyes would glance past my brother and toward Glen. Whenever they did, it seemed like Glen was already looking at me. After the ceremony, we all walked back down the aisle before heading to cocktail hour. I was talking to my family so I lost track of Glen. I didn't see him again until the reception. He was across the room, talking to their old friend group. I quickly looked away when he started to look toward me.
This went on all night. Whenever I looked for Glen, it seemed like he was already looking for me.
"Have you seen Matt?" Shannon asked, playing with her fingers. "It's time to cut the cake."
"I just saw him," I said, trying to comfort her. "He might have gone outside with some old friends. I'll go get him."
I walked outside and searched for my brother. It took a few minutes but I eventually found him and Glen standing off to the side, under a nearby beach gazebo.
"Alright," I heard my brother sigh, "I'm tired of this."
"Tired of what?" Glen asked.
"You and Y/N staring at each other, but neither one of you having the guts to tell the other how you feel. Will you just man up and tell my sister you're in love with her? I'm tired of her dating losers when my best friend would take better care of her."
"It's not that simple. I mean. . . And I'm not in love with. . . Wait, you think that Y/N has feelings for me?"
My brother just laughed. "She has had feelings for you almost as long as you've had feelings for her. So, save me the pain and just tell her."
I held my breath as I waited for Glen's response. "You sure you're okay with me asking out your baby sister?"
"I actually am," Matt chuckled. "All a big brother wants is to see his baby sister happy. And I think you could make her happy."
"I'll try," Glen mumbled to himself after my brother walked away.
When Matt turned around, he saw me and instantly smirked. He walked over and not-so-subtly pushed me toward Glen. He heard the scuffle and turned around.
"Hey, Y/N," he smiled like nothing happened. "You having fun at the party?"
"I am," I said, subconsciously smoothing out my dress. Glen's eyes glanced behind me. I looked over my shoulder, holding in my laughter when I saw my brother almost trip over a chair as he ran away.
"He's not very smooth, is he?" Glen laughed as we looked back at each other.
"About as smooth as a cactus," I chuckled.
Suddenly, a thick tension fell between us. I wanted to say something, but nothing seemed good enough.
"So," Glen started slowly as he walked over to me, "your brother seems to believe that we both have feelings for each other but neither one of us has said anything to the other."
"I guess so," I said quietly. "But to be fair, I always thought you thought I was Matt's annoying little sister."
"You have never been annoying," he said, lowering his voice as he took a few steps closer to me. "And you were so much more than Matt's little sister. I wanted you to be more."
My heart jumped into my throat when Glen grabbed my hands.
"I wanted you to be more than Matt's best friend."
Before I could think this through, Glen leaned in and pressed his lips delicately to mine. The kiss was slow and built up. As it built, I wrapped my arms around his neck and he wrapped his arms around my waist.
We broke apart, both of us out of breath. The second we leaned back, we had matching blushes on our faces.
"I know the reception is still in full swing," Glen smirked as he reached up and moved a piece of hair out of my face, "but what do you think about going for a walk along the beach?"
"I think that is the perfect first date."

PLSSSS MORE FANFIC RECOMMENDATIONS OF JASON TODDDD!
DUDEE!!!! really happy u asked but also omg this got long agaiN who would have thought (!) i added summaries this time tho :)
here is part one of my fic recs XD
andd heres the new ones!! pls give them some love if u read them :D
Dick and Jason:
how lonely to be something that nothing wants to kill by sunlitlemonade
There were blood drops dripping down his fingers to the ground. The puddle was big enough for it to have spread around more than half the tub. His breaths shuddered, they were shallow and waning. But he was breathing and Dick’s world centered around that.
starting strong with Angst go read all of sun’s fics i always die and get revived <333 pls mind the tags on this one
cast on/cast off by hellsreluctantheir
“This is surprisingly non-destructive for Jason,” Dick comments, lightly. In the parking lot, Jason pulls a grenade out of one of his pockets, yanks the pin, and tosses it through the roller door and out of sight, before tearing out of the parking lot in chase of the truck. “Well, for a minute there,” Dick amends. He takes a step back towards the alley the batmobile is parked in, giving Bruce a quick glance. “We following? “No,” Bruce says, as the grenade goes off. “He’s cleared the warehouse. We can get into the office.” Dick sighs again. But Jason knows he can call in if he needs help.
time loop!!! read most of this writer's fics and fell in love with them all,, go read fr
bloodstained by hellsreluctantheir
“I know where the clinic is, asshole,” Jason said. The wad of gauze he was using to keep pressure kept slipping against his shoulder. The knife had caught the space between two panels, split to allow movement. Lucky shot. “Ok, let me make sure you get there without passing out from blood loss,” Dick said, a deliberate evenness to his tone, like he was doing his best to accomodate someone who was being completely unreasonable. Shithead. “I’m not going to pass out,” Jason said, ignoring the fact that he was actually feeling pretty unsteady on his feet. He caught himself with his good shoulder on the entry to the bathroom, took a deep breath. “What would Daddy Bats think if he knew you were here, trying to help me?” “I assume something like, ‘Wow, Dick, you’re such a good brother, trying so hard to make sure Jason is ok even when he’s being a complete idiot about it,’” Dick sniped.
heres another one from them. jasons scars and dick. andd another one next
brothers in arms by hellsreluctantheir
It wasn’t like none of them went undercover. Jason practically lived there. And he’d punch anyone who tried to make it a sob story for him, to cluck over the times he’d been alone in a pit of vipers, act like it was some tragedy. But given half a minute to think about it, Dick somewhere completely cut off from everyone but Bruce, no allies on hand, surrounded by enemies. Angry as he was at the lie, there was something about that he just fucking hated. or Thinking your brother is dead and then finding out he's been alive the whole time really has a way of making you rethink the relationship.
Shelter by Ptelea
Two safe houses, two nights dealing with the aftermath of fear toxin, multiple conversations, several meals. Written for Sholio's September 2020 Comfort Fest for a prompt from Musesfool. Warning-wise, there's nothing graphic here but there are definitely references to past canon trauma for both the characters.
the way they are written here <33
Rotten Fruits by couldyoublameme
“I’m fine,” Dick assured gently, sitting up slightly. “Just a bad night, is all.” It’s a familiar phrase he has used so often. Whenever the addiction crawls back into his mind, a parasite he can never truly get rid of. The family knows what it means. Knows what the ‘bad’ is. Knows what to do. “Oh,” Jason says. “Why?”
absolutely murdered me. pls do mind the tags
You Can Do Better Than That by AlexaAffect
All Jason could hear was his own ragged breathing. He desperately gasped for air, each breath more exhausting than the last and his lungs and throat burned with the effort. In. And, he needed a second longer with every breath he took, out. His arms had been suspended for the last… 15? minutes? Jason had quit keeping track of the time, he’d been too preoccupied trying to hold himself upright, trying to ease his position, switch it up, anything to prolong the guaranteed death. “Red Hood?” That was Dick’s voice. Huh. So they had found him fast enough. Or alternatively; Dick finds a kidnapped Jason shortly before he asphyxiates.
this fic is just oddly comforting to me idk. very precious
Equivalent Exchange by Lysical
Apparently favors don't expire on death. --"What do you want, Dick?" "For you to be happy, Jay." Dick leaned over and pinched his cheek. Jason reached up and swiped at him, scowling. "And world peace."
ADORABLE and fun
Just for Now by Lysical
Jason was back in Gotham and the timing couldn't be worse for him to need assistance on a case. He didn't want to see any of the Bats and he was sure the feeling was mutual. Nightwing was the worst option for Oracle to pick to help him out.
To Reconcile by CasualDanger
“Babs slapped me at your funeral.” Jason goes to laugh, but it’s just a cough and his mouth barely even twitches up. “She hated me in that moment. I mean, really, really hated me, like I did Talia after I found out Damian had died. And I wondered,” his voice cracks, eyes glassy now, “did you hate anyone when I was gone? Because I was gone?”
he ain't heavy, he's my brother by someplacewarm
Dick's been putting off meeting with Jason for a while now, but when a distress call comes through, he has no choice but to answer. Or the one where Dick and Jason talk, fight, get high and cuddle. In that order.
making gold out of it by vmkhoney
Dick talks himself back down on the bathroom floor, clinical and detached. (For someone whose primary skill is manipulating his body, it’s not very often that he feels connected to it.) - Or, five years after Blockbuster, Dick begins teetering on the ledge of processing what Catalina did to him.
a wonderful dick grayson fic, and jason is there being a good brother. mind the tags
What Hurts You by blueyeti
Dick comes to Jason's aid when he's injured in a fight, or at least he thinks he has.
jason has no scars!! and thats also sad
at me, too, someone is looking by bacondoughnut
Dick Grayson knows he's got problems when the Red Hood's busted leg somehow becomes his concern. aka; How Dick Grayson finds out Jason Todd is alive. A story about healing.
a rather long one for my standards XD (very short attention span) but this made me sit down and read. very fun jason
Bruce and Jason:
Saltwater and Desperation by bacondoughnut
Jason's not sure how he even manages to get himself out of the harbor. He's just glad Bruce is there when he does. Not that he'll ever, ever admit as much out loud.
same writer, love this jason (and bruce) so much
Insomnolence by navree
It's not like he slept much as a kid anyway; this is just a return to the status quo. He's not overly tired, and even if he's been sleeping less than his already limited amount throughout April, that's still not any of her business. Bad memories are already bad enough even before they spend the next few years in the aftermath becoming nightmares.
navree being The bruce and jason writer for me all of their fics are so o(- (
Ash Into The Wind by navree
This is his dad in there, the first man he ever called Dad, at any rate, and even after everything, booze and jail and Bruce and death and then death again, there's never going to be a part of Jason that isn't gutted that he's dead. One night, a wraith in a red helmet slips onto the grounds of Blackgate Penitentiary to steal one specific thing.
another one from them
Trapped by lurkinglurkerwholurks
BatFam Week 2018, Day Two. Prompt: Trapped Yes, the prompt is "trapped" and it's a Jason fic. I'm so, so sorry. (Not really, though.) Please see tags for potential triggers.
binge read this writers fics recently they write them so nice
Overcoming Our Antecedents by Batbirdies
Bruce swallows, closing his eyes for a brief moment before he takes another, steadying breath and presses both hands to his face. He just needs a moment. Needs to remember where he is, what year it is, that Jason is not actually fifteen, he only looks like he is. This is temporary. This is just a temporary problem that needs to be contained until they can change Jason back. This is not a repeat of events already passed. This is not a second chance.
Jason and Batfam:
Names and Neapolitan by Muddell
“Goddamnnit Robin,” Hood is there, pulling him into his arms. Robin sees that helmet, he sees the green eyes, the dark hair, he sees open, gray, Gotham sky, and hears tires squealing, and then he sees stone. He sees the cave. Bruce is there. Alfred is there. Dick is there. And Hood is there. Robin rolls in and out of consciousness. He reaches out, snatches the smell of copper and the touch of leather, and he holds Hood’s hand and he does not let go. He’s allowed to say it now. “Jason,” he says. “Don’t leave.” Or, following Dick telling Tim about his older brother, to Tim actually knowing him.
read a couple fics from this writer all so good!!!
Six Ways to Sunday by Muddell
Jason catches Duke hiding a headache and says, is anyone going to deal with that?
same writer!! really love their jason
Settle Down and Sleep by OberonBronze
A series of vignettes about seeking comfort. Damian tries his hand at being a comfort animal; Tim shows up at Jason’s place for an impromptu sleepover; Jason bonds with his older brother after a damaging fear toxin trip; Dick and Bruce have a long-overdue conversation.
really liked jason and dick in this :)
Tuck Me In by OberonBronze
Bruce Wayne and his long-standing habit of tucking his kids into bed.
think how great it is to fall asleep (and how terrible it is to wake up) by mikkal
Jason was fifteen, barely five foot, and underweight for his age when he died. When he came back to his body, suddenly he was too tall, too scarred, too much, too different. And he just... never got used to it. (Or: 5 times a Bat noticed/discovered his body dysphoria post resurrection)
Stranger Danger by alchemistsarego, whumpinaheartbeat (alchemistsarego)
There was never one particular moment that Damian registered that he was losing consciousness. Everything simply flashed from one thing to the next, even though some part of him understood that time had been passing in between. He had been sitting upright, rolling his eyes at something someone had said, then he was on the ground being pinned by some unknowable weight. All at once the weight was gone again, replaced instead by something not only lighter, but much warmer too. A blanket? No, a jacket.
jason and others:
Past Experience by Rookblonkorules
He thinks he might be dying. Again.
clark and jason :)
Bats in the Belfry by endlessnepenthe
Hal idly wonders how long he has before he's found. Probably not very. The Bat's freaky like that. (Or, Hal goes to Gotham and discovers that Batman's brand of freaky isn't exactly one of a kind.)
jason and hal jordan??! and slade? and magic.

------
The beginning of spring was always a magical time in the pack.
The snow melted and little flowers began to sprout. The sunshine warmed them up, the crisp air and emerging leaves sent a new layer of hope into the coming year. It was the true new year for them, something that put a spring in their step and warmth in their hearts, defrosting them from winter
Y/N sat in Harry’s office, next to the tall alpha as he looked over her plans for the pack gardens. “I think that’s a good idea, but I’d move the peas over to the side.” She mused, letting her body melt as the man’s arms wrapped firmly around her body. As much as she knew she needed to pull away in order to finish these plans… it was the season, wasn’t it? “H… We really need to finish the plots.” Her breathy voice echoed in his office as his hands lifted her dress up and his teeth grazed her mating mark. She shuddered, sagging in his arms- the man was playing dirty, but that was the one spot that would make anyone melt. Having your mate brush it, lick it, press it? It felt like the aftershocks of an orgasm. “Y-You’re not playing fair.”
“No, I’m not.” He hummed. “Because you’re mine, and I don’t have to. You can play hard to get all you want, little mate, but I’ve been able to smell that sweet cunt since you’ve left our bedroom this morning.” The accusation made her want to fight- but there was no ground to stand on. She had been helplessly horny all morning. It was the beginning of the mating season, the breeding season, and she was panting for it. Of course she was trying her best to be a good leader, to get on top of plans, but was it so wrong for her to want to look at her strong, handsome, powerful mate? To see his green eyes darken when he caught her scent, to have him corner her and have his way with her because that's what she dreamt about? It was just in their nature.
“S-So what?” There was one last stitch effort to pretend she wanted to work on the plans. “I’m always wet for you.” It was the truth. It was hard not to be when the man had proved time and time again he was the most incredible lover to exist, that he knew her body like the back of his hand.
“I know that. All I’ve got t’do is walk into a room and you’ll roll on your knees and present that perfect cunt for me to fuck.” He chuckled, making her whine. She always got worked up when he talked to her like that. “That’s why it’s so fuckin’ funny t’me that you’re trying to continue this charade. Acting like the point of being in here is for that blueprint when in reality, all you want is for your mate to bend you over this desk and knot you up.” He was quick about it, following his words as he roughly bent her over. Her tits crinkled the papers they’d just been working on as she let out a gasp, her dress being flipped up and a rough palm slapped the curve of her ass.
“Look at you. My sweet little bitch, came all prepared for my cock.” He crooned, using his foot to knock her legs open. She was obedient, deciding not to even feign a fight because this was exactly what she wanted. “Should spank this ass raw for running about the den with no panties on and your silky cunt bare for anyone to see, but we both know all of them have no mistake on who you belong to.” He’d taken her so many times where people could see, let them watch as he plowed her into a whimpery, sobbing mess. It was no secret that their Alpha was the one who owned Y/N.
“M’sorry, Alpha.” She bleated, cheek pressed against the wood as she heard the distinct clink of a belt buckle and the pull of leather through the loops on his pants. It sent a wave of excitement through her, knowing damn well she was in for it. She’d poked the beast, literally and metaphorically, and now she was going to suffer- or enjoy- the consequences.
“I don’t really think you are, my love.” He murmured. “I think that you’ve been gagging for my cock and I didn’t fuck you hard enough this morning. Was nice and soft with you, showered you off and everything. Let you go about your day… But I didn’t fuck you hard like you beg for. Silly me, making love to my mate, my wife, during the breeding season.” His tongue clicked as she heard his pants fall down to his ankles. “I should’ve known that my pretty bitch needed to be bred properly. Needed to be fucked until your knees were weak. You’ve always been a bit of a whore for it, haven’t you my Goddess?” Y/N couldn’t think of anything other than his cock that had begun to rub through her embarrassingly wet folds, a soft keen leaving her mouth.
Harry was right. She was desperate and hot, needy for him in all the ways he’d just described. Y/N couldn’t deny that she really did need to be fucked stupid during this time of year. Don’t get her wrong- she adored when he was so soft and sweet with her, whispering about how perfect and beautiful she was. But when this time of year came around, she wanted to be used. To be filled and fucked and see his most primal part come out. It was only natural.
“Please, I want it.” Her pathetic simper came out as she wriggled her hips, trying to taunt him. She knew damn well that he would give it to her but she was going to play into it even more.
“I know you do. Could’ve just told me you needed a good fuck, but you like to play games instead.” He wouldn’t admit that he liked those games just as much. The sharp slap on her other ass cheek resounded around the room as he got her to stop teasing him with her ass shaking, notching the tip of his prick in her hole. “Since you want t’be a whore, I’ll give it to you like one.”
Her breath was stolen as he entered her in one go. The sting of the stretch made her yelp but her toes curled as she was finally full, his heavy hand pressing her down between her shoulder blades. Keeping her pinned there and pulling out just to repeat the action, she moaned loudly at his rough treatment of her. This was what she needed. A dirty, quick, hard fuck. “Yesssss…” She elongated the word only to be cut off by a wet gasp, his hips thrusting into her again. “Give it to me, please. Please, Alpha.”
“Now she’s begging.” He laughed,a cruel undertone to his words. “Pretty slut is begging for my cock like she should have done to begin with. I know you need it, but I forget every year just how much of a desperate, wet cunt you’ve got.” His pace started to steady, rocking her on the desk while she whimpered at each press inside of her. Her body was quite literally made for this, made for the stretching and filling and being knotted but Harry’s cock was fucking big. The biggest she’d ever seen, and people sure as hell weren’t shy about nudity around here.
“Now you can’t even talk. Finally got a prick stretching you open and that smart little mouth can’t form words. What about those plans, huh?” His snicker was followed by a harsh thrust. “Silly girl. Should’ve just gotten on your knees and begged.”
Harry loved this season. Loved how Y/N became a little minx, slinking around and trying to figure out how to get him to pounce on her. Like he wouldn’t drop everything to give it to her if she just asked. It was entertaining to make her do the work for it, like a little game. As much as he said he didn’t like them, he liked feeling her desire, knowing she was a little shy even still about asking him for sex- except when she was in heat.
“M’sorry, I just-” She whined as his cock began to fuck into her a bit faster. “I just want you all the time. I can’t help it.” If she had it her way, they wouldn’t leave the bedroom. The scents were crazy right now, everyone throwing them around to attract each other if they weren’t mated. All she wanted was his scent smeared all over her, she wanted it coating her body and there to be no question, even if they had visitors.
“I know you do. My beautiful cockslut. I love that you want it so badly. I’ll give it to you…” His words melted into her being as she felt a thumb brush against her ass, gently pressing in- and she was gone. He knew her weaknesses and this was one of the biggest.
Y/N’s brain could only focus on the pleasure. His hands on her and his growling, her cheek being pressed into the wood as she panted. She’d probably have bruises on her hip bones but she’d wear them with pride. It felt like she was just a hole to fuck and that’s how she wanted it. Letting him use her and reaping the benefits of his primal instincts raising up with his pretty mate splayed out for him. She lost count of the moans she let out as her nails sharpened, scratching the side of the desk as she began to feel his knot.
“Please Alpha, Please, please, please, I want it.” Her pathetic mewls only seemed to spur him on. “I want your knot, I want your cum, please give it to me. Give it to me, give it… I’ll be your good girl, I’ll be your bitch, please-” Y/N sobbed into the wood as he pounded her into her end. She squirted, releasing a gush of wetness over his thighs and trickling down her own as her thighs shook, a high pitched sound leaving her mouth as she felt him give one sharp thrust to be filled with his knot.
She felt it expand, her whimpery mess of a face being pulled up slightly as he folded his body on top of her, grinding inside of her cunt to continue her orgasm and work his cum inside of her. “There you go, goddess. Perfect little breeding bitch, s’what you are. Made to take my knot, my cum, my children.” He growled, babbling as his teeth grazed her mark and made her shudder. His eyes flashed before he closed them, grabbing her hair in his fist and angling her mouth so he could kiss her with the grumbles in his chest calming to a purr as he was stuck with her. Her orgasm had splashed all over the both of them, his balls and thighs wet and her poor cunt stretched and full. Her ass would need a salve from his spanking, but that’s how he knew it was good. She’d been flaunting herself around his office for a reason, and now they were both sated… for a while, anyways.
“I love you.” She slurred, bleary eyes looking up at him. “Love you Alpha.” Her sweet words softened his heart, a fond smile tilting up the corners of his lips. No matter how rough he went on her during sex, this woman was his soul mate. His goddess. No one could ever comprehend how much he loved her.
“I love you more than the moon and the stars.” He whispered, nudging his nose against hers sweetly. “My sweet Goddess. You own me.”

"What do you think it tastes like?" You peer up from your laptop screen, your curious eyes take in your best friend staring down at her phone screen, her platinum blonde bangs covering her furrowed brows and her glossed bottom lip caught between her teeth.
“What?” She tilts her phone towards you, showing you the filthy video she's been watching on loop for God knows how long.
“Gosh, Lixie, in my room? Really? Right now?” A chuckle escapes you as you watch the video replay.
“I'm sorry, I know, I was just scrolling and it popped up. You know how unpredictable Twitter can be.” You only half heard what she said, you can see why she stopped to watch this video. Whoever that lucky lady is, is getting her pussy devoured in a way that you can only dream of.
“But seriously… what do you think?”
“Uh, I actually already know what it tastes like. Well, everyone is different but -”
“Pause.” Your brown eyes shoot up to meet her wide ones. “You've done that before?”
You can't help the blush creeping up your neck. “Yeah I did, I mean it wasn't planned and it was just -”
“How did I never know this?”
“I don't know but you won't find out much more if you don't let me finish.” Lix locks her phone, throwing it to the side and sitting up on her knees so that she faces you with shining eyes. Her plaid skirt rides up her thighs a bit as she gets comfortable on your bed. It’s way too short so that doesn't surprise you. It was her idea to get matching skirts but when the one she wanted was only available a size smaller than what she needed she decided to squeeze into it so that the two of you could match.
“Start talking.”
“Okay okay uhm, it happened at my old friend's 18th birthday sleepover. It was a classic case of girls just messing around and things going too far. I went down on my friend while everyone else was sleeping, we always had some tension between us and we were both questioning if we were into girls so we just said fuck it and went down on each other.” She stares at you, blinking a couple of times as the information sinks in. “I’ve done it other times since then but that was the very first time.”
“What… does it taste like?” Her Australian accent decorates her words as they slowly fall from her lips, she bites at the inside of her cheek as she waits for your reply.
“Uh, kinda like nothing? Some girls taste kinda bitter and some kinda taste metallic? It depends on where you are hormonally but it generally tastes like licking the back of your hand.” You giggle a bit when her eyes flicker down to her hand. She makes a fist and brings it up to her lips to slowly run her tongue over the skin. You watch her closely, taking in her reaction. She licks again, closing her eyes this time and following with a low hum.
“Then why do guys say that it tastes sweet?” Her brows are pinched together as her eyes flutter open. “I never understood that.”
“It’s just cause it sounds good I guess? It makes us feel good.” Lix sits back against the headboard to your bed and rests her head on your shoulder. You tuck your curls behind your ear so that she can get comfortable. “Have you never tasted yourself before? You don’t kiss Hyunjin after he goes down on you?”
“I mean, yeah but I just thought it would be a bit different I guess? He always says that I’m sweet so that’s what I expected.”
“I think that they say that when they really like you, ya know? Maybe Hyune likes you a lot.” The scoff that escapes her makes you chuckle, you can already tell that she’s rolling her eyes.
“He likes everyone, he'd never actually wanna date me and that’s fine cause I’m not interested.” She’s not wrong, Hyunjin is the flirt of your friend group. He only started sleeping with Lix after they shared a drunken kiss and Lix went down on him. Ever since then he’s been trying to sweep her off of her feet but your friend isn’t easy to impress.
“Then why do you fuck him?” You turn to look down at her and she’s already looking up at you with a coy smile.
“He’s got a big dick.” A loud laugh ripples from her throat as you stare at her with a slack jaw and big eyes. So the rumors are true? “I’m not telling you anything else.”
“Come on, you can not basically tell me that what everyone says about Hyunjin is true and then shut the conversation down!” She kicks her feet as she sinks further down onto the bed.
“I don’t wanna talk about how big Hyunjin’s dick is, I’ll show you a picture later. I wanna talk about how I think I might be into girls.” She pauses, waiting for my reaction.
“Oh, you are. You always have been. Everyone knows it, you’re late to your own party.” You slide down to lay next to her, resting your head on her chest.
“No one was gonna tell me?” She chuckles, playful pushing you off of her. “Some friend you are.” She runs her fingers through your hair mindlessly as she stares up at the ceiling pondering her thoughts. “I’ve been thinking about this for so long. I already know what my pussy tastes like. I wanna know what others taste like.”
“Are you interested in anyone? Like, any girls?” A comfortable silence blankets the both of you while she thinks, her eyes trace the blemishes on your ceiling as she picks her next words.
“I don’t know, not really.” You crane your neck to look up at her but she doesn’t look at you.
“No one at all?” You whisper like you’re trying to get her to let you in on a secret. “Do you fantasize about anyone?”
“Yeah, sometimes.” She whispers back. “I’ve imagined eating someone out…it’s always the same girl.”
“Do I know her?” Lix shakes her head and you smile, sitting up a bit to get a better look at her. Her eyes stay trained on the ceiling until you ask her. “Is it me?” Her gaze slowly drifts over to meet yours. She studies your features for just a second before shaking her head, a deep cherry blush washes over her freckled cheeks as you smile down at her.
“You’re always staring at my tits, I knew it.” You tease with a laugh, falling back down against the mattress and Lix scoffs.
“As if.” She rolls her eyes before falling into a fit of laughter with you “You’re my best friend and you’re a total babe. How could I resist? I was doomed from the start.” She puts the back of her hand against her forehead and sighs dramatically.
“Lixie likes me, Lixie likes me.” You sing song as you tease her, poking her side and making her laugh as she swats you away. You two giggle and thrash around a bit before you’re still again, laying on your sides facing each other.
“I’ll get over it.” She sighs, snuggling into her arm folded under her head. “It’s not like I’m in love with you, I just think you’re hot.”
“Do you think about me when you touch yourself?” She shakes her head and you smile “I think about you sometimes.” Her eyes go wide at your confession and you chuckle at her.
“Swear?” You nod, moving closer to her.
“Do you wanna know what girls taste like… or what I taste like?” You’ve been best friends with Lix long enough to recognize that look in her eyes, you know the answer to your question before she even opens her mouth. “You could… taste me if you want.”
“Now is not the time to mess with me! I’m having a crisis here.” You roll your eyes and grab her by her hip.
“I’m not messing with you, I mean it. You wanna know if you like girls and I’m a girl, this is what friends are for.” She smiles at you, shaking her head a bit as she ponders your offer.
“Are you serious?” You smile back.
“So serious.” The two of you stare at each other for a minute or two, allowing your racing heartbeats to fill the quiet that’s surrounded you. Both of you know what you want to do but who’s going to make the first move?
As if you both can to the same conclusion simultaneously you both lean in to each other, gripping the others hips and capturing your lips in a chaste kiss. Lix giggles at the contact, kicking her feet a bit as excitement surges through her. She leans in again, deepening the kiss and you sigh into it. She feels just like you thought she would and she tastes even better. Soft and sweet.
“This is insane.” She whispers against your lips before kissing you again. “I have no clue how to eat pussy.” You both fall into a fit of laughter, clutching onto the other's waist as you struggle to find words.
“It’s not hard at all I promise!” You wrap your fingers around her wrist gently and guide her down to your core. “Feel it first, get to know it.”
“Why are you talking about your pussy like it’s a cat?” You hike your skirt up with your other hand, revealing your cotton white panties with an obvious wet spot forming on the gusset.
“Hey, it’s my kitty and it has feelings.” You rest her hand on your pubic bone, giving her control of how far she wants to go. “Be nice to her.”
Lixie’s slowly moves her fingers over your clothed pubic bone, taking in your trimmed pubes that you’ve carefully styled into a perfect triangle. She inches her way down the inside of your thigh, her palm slightly brushes over your clit and you sigh at the feeling. Her careful touches are something that you’re new to, everyone you’ve ever been with has been rough, their touches seemed rushed and eager but not Lix.
The feeling of her fingers brushing over your vulva brings you back to the present. Her touch is feather light as she runs two fingers over your clothed folds. She trails up and stops right at your clit, pressing a bit against it. “Oh” You kick your head back, allowing your eyes to flutter shut at the feeling. That’s one thing that you’ve always loved about being with girls, they all know where the clit is.
The feeling of the mattress dipping next to you makes you open your eyes, you watch as Lix moves further down to get a better look at where you're gushing for her. Her barely glossed lips are parted slightly as she looks you over with wide eyes. Her breathing is slow and calm despite her heart beating out of her chest with excitement. The cherry blush on her cheeks has only grown deeper now that she’s face to face with your cunt. Before you can even say anything she’s leaning into you, she places a soft but long kiss over pubic bone and your breath catches in your throat at the sight.
“Is that okay?” Her voice is barely above a whisper and her eyes never meet yours.
“Yeah.” You let out a shaky exhale as you watch her kiss a bit lower this time. You spread your legs further and she quickly slots herself between them. Her lips brush over your inner thighs, peppering soft but sloppy kisses over the skin. As she got more comfortable she left sweet kisses over your labia, licking a bit at the wet spot forming to get a hint of your taste on her tongue. You tried to stop your hips from bucking up into her but you couldn’t help it, the closer she got to your clit the more eager you got.
“Lixie.” You moaned out her name and gasped as she started to tease your clit with her tongue. Her gaze is trained on you as she kisses and licks over your panties, her wide eyes sparkle with faux innocence. You lazily grab at the blanket under you, small whimpers and restrained hums escape your throat despite your attempts at being quiet.
It’s the middle of a sunny day in May and your room is in the front of the house and your window is wide open. Your record player is playing some random song by Lana Del Rey and though it’s fitting for the situation you highly doubt that the soft music will drown out your moans.
She breaks eye contact and pulls away so that she can observe your pussy through your ruined panties. She whimpers at the sight of your pussy under the cloth, cocoa and pink just like she imagined it.
“ ‘S so pretty.” She coos as she pinches the lips between her fingers. You moan at the pressure, rolling your hips a bit. She taps to fingers right where your clit sits under the wet cloth and you hiss, throwing your head back.
“Was that okay?” she asks quickly, pulling back a bit. “Hyunjin always does that, and I wanted to try it.”
You laugh and she follows. “You’re trying tricks on me that your fuck buddy does to you!?” She laughs louder, resting her forehead on your thigh.
“No! Well, yeah I am but I don’t have any other reference!” She continues her ministrations, running her fingers over your clit and halting your laughter immediately. Your whole body tenses in pleasure as you clench around nothing. Your body tingles with excitement as she kisses you over your panties once more. You could cum from just the thought of her doing that and now she’s here, with her mouth on your clit and you can’t help but want to explode right on her tongue.
“Can we take these off?” she tugs at the hem of your panties and you offer an eager nod before lifting your hips to allow her to pull them off. Lix gasps as she pulls your panties down, her jaw hangs slack as she watches a string of arousal connect you to your soaked panties. She takes in the way that your cunt glistens in the spring sunshine and she swears that it’s the most beautiful thing she’s ever seen. “Is this a dream?” She mumbles under her breath but you hear her.
“It might be.” You prop yourself on your elbows, determined to watch her as she tastes you. She throws your panties to the side and spreads your pussy with two fingers. Her lust glazed eyes study you like you’re a work of art. She takes in every mole, every slight glimmer of your arousal and every clench of your tight hole. Her eyes meet yours for a second before she leans in closer. You stare down at her, not daring to break eye contact. She dips her tongue out and slowly licks a stripe up your leaking cunt. A loud moan escapes you when her eyes roll back at the taste of you, a whine leaving her throat when she swallows your essence.
“Oh my god.” You say in unison, chuckling for just a second before falling back into the moment. She’s eager to taste you again, wasting no time dipping her tongue back out and licking up your folds.
The tip of her tongue teases your clit a bit and you buck up into her. She notes the reaction, leaning in to circle your clit with the tip of her tongue. Her eyes are on yours the entire time, she blinks up at you, drinking in your reactions to her amateur work. “ You look so pretty down there. Holy fuck, Lix.”
She feels more confident with your praise lingering in her head. She sucking your clit between her lips, laving over the sensitive bud and humming in satisfaction when you arch your back off of the mattress with a loud moan. Her small hands press against your inner thighs to keep them open for her as she runs her tongue up and down your folds. She flicks, licks and sucks all of the right spots, fucking you with her tongue once she’s truly comfortable.
You’re a moaning mess, your body trembles with pleasure as she works you towards your climax. Her name tumbles from your lips like a prayer and your fingers grab at the hair at the crown of her head. You’re so close but you don’t want this to end.
“Y-you’re really good at that.” She swirls her tongue over your clit, writing the alphabet with her tongue and you shudder at the dragged out moan she offers in response. You can feel your orgasm creeping up your spine, the familiar warmth starts to wash over you but she pulls away before it can take you completely. You whine in protest but before you can say anything she slides a finger inside you. You cry out, fisting the blanket under you in a desperate attempt to ground yourself.
“Oh my god, yes, like that, please, please add another.” Your breathing intensifies when she slips another finger into you, stretching you perfectly.
“I should still eat you out right?” You nod frantically, eyes shut tight as you chase your high. She dives back in immediately, lapping at your clit like an expert as she fucks your clenching hole. Your body shaking with pleasure as your orgasm washes over you, your moans and cries are so loud that you’re positive that anyone passing your house can hear your signs of pleasure but you couldn’t care less.
“Lix-ah, Lix, Lixie, I’m cumming” She licks up your gushing arousal as you come undone, her free hand keeps you spread open for her as she laps up your juices. A chorus of moans float through the air, some belonging to you and some her. Once you start to settle down she slowly slides her fingers out of you and gives your cunt one last lick before backing away. Her chin is glistening in the sun as she smiles, her swollen lips are coated in your juices and the two fingers that were previously buried in your cunt are now between her lips as she runs her tongue over them. She rests her head on your thigh as she watches you come down from the clouds.
“This is definitely a dream, there’s no way that I made you cum that hard.” She smiles, as she wipes her chin with the back of her hand. “Did I do okay?”
“Was my screaming not enough of a give away?” You both laugh and she crawls back up to lay next to you. “Thoughts?”
“You taste…sweet.” She side eyes you with a smile and you both erupt into a much more intense fit of laughter. “You must like me.” You tease, pushing her playfully. “C’mere”
You lean up in an attempt to catch her lips with yours and she closes the gap, pressing her swollen lips against yours with a hum. “I am sweet.” She chuckles and you push her down onto your mattress.
“It’s your turn now.”
“You don’t have to -” You cut her off with a kiss.
“I really want to.” She smiles up at you and watches as you crawl down her body. Just when you’re about to flip her skirt up her phone chimes underneath her. She ignores it and turns her attention back to you, lifting her hips to give you access to her pink strawberry print panties. You kiss her outer thigh and start moving inwards but before you can get too far her phone vibrates again. She groans in annoyance before she lifts up and grabs the device, unlocking it aggressively and checking her notifications.
“Oh.” She whispers with wide eyes as she sits up. “Oh no oh god I completely forgot.”
“What?” You ask, crawling back up to look at her screen. “Oh.”
“I completely forgot that he was picking me up, our plans completely slipped my mind.” She starts typing quickly, trying to come up with a message that would get her out of her plans. Her phone vibrates in her hands seconds after her message is sent and somehow her wide eyes get even wider. “He’s here.”
“What?” Before you could even ask any questions there’s a knock at your window. All of your friends come through your window when it’s open. Why not? It’s in the front of your house and it’s fucking huge. You turn quickly and sure enough Hyunjin is lifting himself up and into your room.
“Ladies.” He greets with a sigh once he’s in, he takes you both in with furrowed brows. His eyes dart from your skirt around your waist to Lixie’s messy hair then down to your friends flipped up skirt and then they finally stop at your ruined panties discarded at the end of your bed. “What’s going on here?”
“Nothing.” You say in unison, not even bothering to fix your appearances.
“Nothing?” He questions, an eyebrow raised and a sly smirk on his lips as he looks you both over again.
“Yeah we’re just…” Lix trails off, looking at you for assistance but Hyunjin finishes before you can jump in “Tasting cherries?” He walks over to your bed, sitting at the edge and leaning back against the frame.
“Mind if I have a taste too?”

A/N: once again I am writing and uploading this from my phone so can’t really get the tag list organised to be sure to reblog and share around so everyone can find, please and thank you. Anyway, enjoy!
THREE
It was late. You were feeling tired. Joaquin and Sam had been out on this mission all day and the time difference was kicking your ass. You were on your third cup of coffee, your body slightly jittery as you tapped and typed and observed and did everything you could to keep up.
“Shit, they’re headed outside,” Sam called out stressed through the com link.
“I’m already headed to the roof, I’m on it,” Joaquin called and your heart rate picked up even more as you saw him burst out into the early morning air in Minsk.
“They’re getting into the black jeep,” Sam called through the coms.
“F.E.A.R.N lock on and track that vehicle,” Joaquin called out to you and you began to carry out the task.
You focused on your monitor as you guided the bird down and hovered carefully out of sight over the top of it as they began to move through the streets of the city.
“F.E.A.R.N, can you do a scan on the inside of the truck so we can get a better idea of what’s going on?” Joaquin’s voice asked again. Your fingers typed furiously to enable the thermal scanner and do a loop of the car then patch the visual of the feed straight through to Sam and Joaquin’s helmet.
“Looks like they took the weapon with them,” Sam said as the men in the back of the car shifted to exchange vials from a large reinforced briefcase into smaller cases.
“I think they’re gonna split up,” Joaquin said.
“There’s only two of us and four of them. We have to intercept them now before they go their separate ways,” Sam retorted.
“How far behind are you?” Joaquin asked him as he continued to fly overhead, following the car at a greater distance.
“I’m on your 6,” Sam replied. “On three, get FEARN to wipe out the battery on the car. I’ll take the left side, you take the right.”
“Okay,” Joaquin confirmed and you frantically began to get up the application for when that next command finally came through.
There was a beat and you took a deep breath to steady yourself before Sam counted you all in.
“3…2…1!”
“F.E.A.R.N cut the battery,” Joaquin commanded and you hit the button on your keyboard that allowed the drone to give off an electrical pulse to take out the car.
You could hear the sounds of the men’s confused shouts as the car cut out and rolled to a stop.
“What the?”
There was a sudden boom and crumpling of metal as both Sam and Joaquin punched out the back passenger doors on either side of the car and began to haul out the first guys they could lay their hands on. As they began to tussle, you coordinated your flight pattern with Red Wing in order to have their backs.
As the men realised who they were up against they began to panic. Realising there would be no way to get the chemical weapon back to their master if they were caught by the new falcon and Captain America, the other two men who’d been in the front of the car began to flee.
Sam quickly moved to knock out the struggling man in his arms so he could go after one of them, but Joaquin was still struggling with his own guy to go after the other.
“F.E.A.R.N follow the driver,” Joaquin called out and you jumped to your feet with the adrenaline now boarding through your body as you raced to tail the man dressed in all black who had initially driving the jeep.
When he realised you were hot on his tail, he decided he needed a new mode of transport if he was to try and put enough distance between himself and whoever came to track him down. He knew the drone following wouldn’t shoot him and risk detonating the chemical weapon, but it didn’t mean you weren’t gonna keep tabs on him for as long as you could.
“Where’s the driver?” Joaquin called out and you quickly patched through the man’s current location back through to his visor.
“He just stole a bike,” you informed him as the motorcycle the man now sat on roared to life.
“I’m on my way, keep following him from a distance,” he instructed and you moved the drone higher to follow at a distance.
“Have you got eyes on the driver?” Sam called out to Joaquin through the com link.
“Yeah, I’m just-“
Suddenly there was nothing. Your feed cut out, your computer completely shutting down. All of the lights in your appartment went out and you were plunged into sudden darkness. There was an eerie silence as the air conditioning clicked off and the fan inside began to slow.
“SHIT!” You shouted out loud. “Joaquin!?” You shouted desperately into your headset, but there was no response, the call had cut out with your computer. “No! No! No! No! No!!” You cried. This was not happening. “FUCK!” You shouted as you realised the power had gone out in the whole building. There was nothing you could do until the backup generator came on, but even then it would take time for your computer to reboot.
You reached desperately for your phone. There was no signal. As you raced to look out the window you realised it wasn’t just your apartment block, the whole neighbourhood was down. “Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!” You chanted again.
You tapped your phone against your mouth as you began to pace back and forth, trying desperately to come up with any solution at all, but ultimately realising you’d have to wait for the backup generator to kick in.
You looked at your phone again. 1 minute. 2. Your heart felt like it was swelling up in your chest, suffocating you. This was taking way too long.
3 minutes…. 4 minutes… FUCK!
Just before it hit 5 there was a faint click and a whiring sound as the generator kicked in and everything began to come to life again, your microwave beeping in the background and your computer making a whirring sound as it switched itself back on and began slowly loading your desktop.
You quickly hurried to sit back at your desk, your fingers thundering urgently against the keys to log you back in the second it came up. You frantically typed away as you relogged into the FEARN operating systems. You hoped to God the drone still worked. The second you disconnected it it would have immediately fallen from the sky.
“Come on. Come on,” you muttered to yourself as you waited for the video feed to load.
“Oh shit,” you heard his voice come through startled as the drone kicked back to life and detached itself from Joaquin’s back.
“I’m sorry! I’m so sorry!” You began to ramble into his ear as you pivoted the drones camera around to work out what you’d missed and make sure the mission was still going smoothly.
He was stood on top of a roof now, his hands reaching out for the drone as if trying to catch it. “Wow, what is up with this thing?” He muttered to himself. “FEARN? FEARN.” he said, both with concern and a command as if he was suddenly confused by the drone.
“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry,” you said, “I lost power and the whole system shut down. We were in the middle of a mission. Is everything okay?” You asked frantically.
“Yes, yes. Just stop moving a second,” he instructed almost frustrated and you quickly took your hands off the controls allowing the drone to just hover in space in front of him.
You watched through your screen as his hands moved out of shot as he took the piece of machinery in both hands, pulling it closer to inspect.
“Is there something wrong with the body of the drone?” You asked him, taking in the way his brow furrowed as he inspected it.
“No, I’m just trying to work out why the power would have just cut out like that.” You frowned at his response. Did he think the issue had been with the drone itself? “I’ll get tech to get a look under the hood and check it out when I get back to base,” he continued nonchalantly.
“Did the body sustain damage when it hit the ground?” You asked.
“It didn’t hit the ground,” he said, his dark brown eyes still fixated on checking over the drone. “I caught you when you started to fall out of the sky.”
“But what about the mission? The driver?” You asked.
“He got away,” he huffed, finally letting go of the drone so it was hovering in the air at his eyeline again. “We’ll get them next time,” he tried to rally. “I mean 3 out of the four ain’t bad,” he said. But you could see the look of pain and frustration on his face at having failed.
“I’m so sorry,” you said, realising it was probably your fault. If the power hadn’t gone out. If he hadn’t raced to save the drone, he probably would have got the guy.
“It’s okay, these things happen,” he said, but you couldn’t deny the guilt in your stomach. You knew there’d be a hearing after this. An inquest into what happened. And although the power going out technically couldn’t be helped, you also knew that if you got to keep this job, you most likely wouldn’t be able to work remotely anymore for risk this may happen again. You’d both gotten lucky this time round, but who knew how different the circumstances could be if it happened again.
“FEARN, power off.” You heard him command, his voice slightly broken and dejected. And although you didn’t want to, although you wanted to talk to him and explain what had happened properly, your job was to ultimately follow his orders… so you did.

Hey hey!!! Saw you opened asks- so I wanted to send my love and appreciation for everything you do💕
Maybe a reverse of “You Blurt Out Who’s Your Favorite” , where the chain accidentally say that reader is their favorite? Silly pining ensues. (You don’t have to do this as always. Have a good day 💕)
Sure thing, Anti! I hope you have a good day too! <3 :D
Masterlist
Immediate Reader, boys under the cut!
"I am the best!"
"In your dreams!"
"The greatest!
"Uh-huh."
You snorted as the boys all ragged on each other. Typical sibling behavior.
They were all playing the game of 'Who is the greatest? Certainly not you.' And you were trying really hard to not make it seem like you were paying attention to their shenanigans.
"Well, Malon likes me more!"
"No way! I'm her favorite."
Screw it you're joining this.
"I am the favorite!" All eyes turn to you as you smirk.
"....I doubt that."
You laugh and cross your arms. "I have yet to be proven wrong."
"Well you're certainly mine."
***
Legend
Legend crosses his arms as he rolls his eyes. He sees the group look to him and huffs. "I mean, honestly- Hello? Have you met them? They're easily the odd man out here."
"Ok." You deadpan. "Rude."
"Which means-" Legend flicks your forehead non too gently. "-that you're not as annoying or willing to throw us all off of a cliff."
"That was one time!" Wild shouts from the back.
"Well regardless, I can trust them to get the work done with out having to pick up the slack." Legend admires the ring on his fingers, acting nonchalant about the whole thing.
Some of the boys all seem to shuffle nervously on their feet. they seem to know what he's talking about.
This catches your attention. "Wait- hold on. When was this? What happened?"
Legend grins, looking like the cat that caught the canary. "A while ago. You were too busy doing your part to notice that we had been left to get rid of the rest of the monsters."
That last part was pointed. And you don't think his bombastic side eye was helping matters.
Ok. So Legend was holding a grudge. That's good to know.
You cleared you throat and rubbed the back of your neck. "So... that makes me your favorite?"
"Especially so." Legend turns back to you. His expression almost changes in a full 180. Before it looked at if his glare could have set them all ablaze but now his gaze is almost... soft. Tender, even.
Your breath gets stuck in your throat and you're shocked that you're even beginning to feel flustered by it. "....Don't mention it."
"I haven't." Legend winks and you bite your lip, losing your nerve and looking away. "But I don't mind bringing it up that you've been most helpful."
"Ugh, gross, he's flirting." Wind groans and shoves his way between the two of you, breaking the moment in twain. "Get a room! We don't need to see it!"
"I wasn't flirting-"
"That wasn't-"
'Yeah, yeah..." Wind blows a raspberry, making some of the others boys snicker. "Whatever helps you sleep at night."
Twilight
"Thank you." You grin and happily start walking with a spring in your step.
Twilight seems to pause, letting his words sink into his head. The others rapidly catch on that he hadn't intended to say that out loud, but you seem none the wiser and actually quite pleased with this revelation.
You skip ahead and even go as far as to loop your arm with his. "I think you're pretty neat too, Twilight."
He coughs and rub the back of his neck with his free hand, letting you hold his dominant arm hostage. It's not like he's complaining. "I'm glad."
Hyrule snickers on the side lines and Twilight finds it in himself to send him a particularly nasty look. Over your head, naturally, so you don't see and don't get the hint that some of the other boy seem persistent to drop in his stead.
You drop your grip on his arm to hold his hand instead, swinging your hands together as you all walk. "Good to know that I'm the favorite over all."
"That can't be it." Legend says with a smirk on his face.
Twilight growls. "Shut it-"
"Twilight said so. You all heard it." You fire back, ignoring Twilight's words. "I am the favorite."
"Mhm." Time hums in agreement. "I don't see why not."
"Old man." Twilight stresses the nickname, pleading as wordlessly as he can to let the subject drop and let him live.
You finally look up to him with a tilt of your head. "Were you lying?"
Panic stabs his heart and he rips his hand away from you in shock as he tries to salvage the situation. Whatever it is he's trying to salvage anyway. "What?! No! Of course I wasn't lying! I think you're incredible!"
"Ok!" You grin as if nothing had happened and grab his hand again. "That's a relief. I wasn't going to say anything but you're my favorite too. So it all works out in the end."
Twilight flushes as you begin to drag him forward on the trail. "....I beg your pardon?"
"You're pardoned!" You start swinging your hands again. "Let's go!"
Time
You trip over your feet and snap your head to face the old man who hadn't even bothered to look in your direction.
Surprisingly, it was Twilight who spoke next. "...Well that doesn't very fair."
Time snorts but comments no further.
Part of you wants to beam in joy. And to rub it in the rest of the boy's faces.
That's high praise coming from Time and you all knew it.
There's a sudden pep in your step as you keep walking forward. "Ha! I'm Time's favorite. Na nana na~"
Time smirks and watches you with an amused smile. Wind groans dramatically and launches himself onto Time's arm. "But come on! We're all cool and nice and how come I'm not your favorite?"
"It's not that you're not my favorite." Time explains gently, chuckles as he pries Wind off of his arm with a particularly rough hair ruffle. "It's that they-" He points to you. "-don't make it their life mission to give me grey hairs before my time."
"You don't need our help to get grey hair, Old Man." Legend teases.
Time swipes at the hero playfully, letting him easily evade his grasp. "I'm fully aware. And yet you all seem keen on making it happen."
You laugh, feeling more proud of yourself than you probably should. It feels good, even if there's a little voice in your head that's telling you Time only said you were the favorite to tease the other heroes. Even if that were case, you can't bring yourself to mind it. You can tease the others about it as well!
Twilight seems particularly put out and you make it a point to stick your tongue out at him out of childish pettiness.
Twilight catches on and pouts harder, sticking his tongue out at you in return- right for Time to clock him in the back of his head. "Easy, Pup."
"They started it!" Twilight cries petulantly.
"I'm ending it." Time gets a mischievous twinkle in his eye. "Besides, I didn't hear them arguing with you lot about who was the greatest among you."
You put your hands on your hips. "I am quite awesome though, aren't I?"
Time sighs. "A mark of a true hero is humility." He flicks your forehead. "But yes- you are awesome."
Sky
"Awww... Sky, that's so sweet!" You put your hand to your heart and grin at the suddenly bashful boy.
"Ah- well... You're welcome."
Hyrule laughs and slugs him on the shoulder. "You didn't intend to say that out loud, did you?"
"Nope." Sky scratches the back of his head.
"That's ok." You pat his back, feeling a little better about your own ego. "I think that makes it all the better."
"...Right..." Sky smiles a little tensely, seeming a little more nervous than he's willing to let know.
"Wait-" Warrior raises an eyebrow. He says your name questioningly. "Who's your favorite?"
"Oh! Hyrule."
"Huh?"
"Yup." You give Sky a wink while the other boys start rapidly firing questions. Not because they want to know why Hyrule, but they want to know why not them.
You know, like the children they are.
Sky relaxes a little bit when you walk forward to keep the attention of off him and onto yourself, giving him enough time to collect himself and then wonder if you wee serious or not.
So... you didn't technically help him despite your efforts, but you don't have to know where his head space is at.
"...You were serious, weren't you?" Hyrule says in a quite voice. "Did you mean that as in more than just being a favorite?"
"...So when I say I didn't intend to say that out loud-"
"Sky, oh my god."
"I know."
"You even looked them in the eye-!"
"I know!"
"..."
"..."
"....My condolences."
"Don't remind me." Sky groans, hiding his face in his hands.
Warrior
Everyone freezes before all heads slowly turn to him.
Your jaw drops in total shock. Of all people to say something in this context, in that manner, he was would have been at the bottom of the list.
Warrior raises a cool eyebrow, daring to smirk as the cherry on top.
No body makes a move, almost afraid to break the tedious atmosphere around the group and once rowdy boys.
You clear your throat, garnering the attention for yourself against your wishes. You however, keep your gaze on Warrior. The son of a gun winks.
You flush and feel the need to clear your throat again. You were trying to be sarcastic and facetious. You weren't expecting a genuine response. At least you think he's being serious. The silence certainly doesn't help you get your nerve back.
"Moving on." Warrior turns on his heel and begins to walk away, leaving you all in the wake of his cutting sentence.
You try to meet the eyes of the other but they're all looking at you for your reaction instead.
You throw up your hands in a desperate attempt to get the attention off of yourself. "I didn't tell him to say that!"
"Of course not." Warrior has the gall to speak once more on the topic. "But that doesn't make it any less true."
"You-!" You shout, unintentionally being louder than you intended. "SHUT! Not a peep out of you!"
Warrior gets a gleam in his eye that spells trouble for you later. He grins even wider and blows you a kiss.
You have half the mind to throw something at him.
Wild leans up next to you and bumps your shoulder with his. You turn to him in a desperate attempt to hide your shame. His eyebrows dance in a knowing fashion and you give completely. Shoving the Champion as far aware from you as you can, you also begin to get a move on for the day.
The others boys laugh quietly around you, amused at the turn of events.
"I hate all of you."
"No you don't!" Someone gleefully calls back to you.
"Why don't tell that to Warrior?" Four teases.
You plan revenge on him specifically. Instead of following through with that however, you speed up to catch up to Warrior.
"Am I really your favorite?" You find yourself saying before you could stop yourself.
Warrior chuckled. "Of course. Have I ever lied to you?'
"Well..." He has a point there. You take a deep breath. "No."
"Well, there you have it."
Four
"Are you serious?" Wind pouts. "I thought it was Time."
"Nope." Four puts his hands on his hips. "And unlike some people, I'm not afraid to speak my mind. I said it and I'll say it again. They're my favorite person here. Any one that disagree has to come up with some pretty convincing evidence to make me change my mind?"
You beam and feel yourself bubble up with happiness. You bounce on the balls of your feet and clap happily. "Yay! I'm Four's favorite!"
You turn to Sky excitedly, pointing in his face. "Eat it!"
He gives you a startled look before he starts laughing under his breath.
Four snorts and shakes his head. "Any objections?"
Most of the boys shake their heads, amusement twinkling in their eyes. Four grins as well and shrugs. "I guess we're done here."
You giggle like a maniac as everyone starts falling back into line, the conversation ending then and there with Four's declaration.
You on the other hand, feel like that you've gotten the ego boost of a life time. You're not entirely sure why. Being Four's favorite went straight to your head and elevated your mood to a whole other level.
"This is the greatest achievement of my life." You say, not entirely sarcastic as you wanted to sound. "I think I can die happy now."
"I didn't think it would make you this happy." Four noticed you bouncing on cloud nine. "Do you think I'm that special that it's so important to be my favorite?"
You pause and blush softly. A beat passes with all eyes on you and you decide to bite the bullet. "Of course I do. You're also my favorite person."
"Person?" Wild catches your slip up.
You snap your head to him and stick your tongue out. "Don't even start. I said what I said. I won't take it back."
You turn back to Four and see him giving you the softest smile. Your heart starts pounding in your chest. Oh. That's new. You finds yourself smiling back.
"Get a room!!" Warrior drops his hand to your head, nearly throwing you to the ground as he ruffles your hair. Twilight does the same to Four, ruining the moment.
"Hey-! Get off!" You shout and shove the hero away.
"Twilight, watch it!"
Wind
You snap your head in the direction of the voice and feel a wide grin cover your face. "Well thank you very much, Pirate."
You reach over and ruffle his hair roughly, playfully throwing off his balance as he yells and tries to fight you off without making it into a legitimate fight.
"Ok, ok, take it easy you two." Time steps in, taking your hand off of the boy with a light chuckle on his breath.
"That's it." You say, meeting the rest of the group with a wild gleam in your eye. You aim to start trouble. "Wind is officially my favorite too. The rest of you stink."
"Oh, come on. Be nice." Wild snickers, throwing his arms round your shoulders to shake you just as playfully. "We all have our good moments. Why does Wind get the sudden promotion?"
"Well you literally stink." You jokingly, pinch your nose and throw him off of you. "Come on, Wind."
You turn around, sticking your tongue out at all the other as they snicker at Wild's offended face. Wind was laughing loudly, happily taking your outstretched hand when you offered it.
"Let's go to the front of the group where all the cool kids hang out."
"Ok!" He giggles, swinging your hands together as you start to walk a little faster to get ahead of everyone else.
"Are we just going to let them get away with this?" Wild shouts, having his pride wounded by your throw away comment.
"I mean..." Sky shrugs.
"Seriously?!"
"They're not wrong." Warrior snort, gently knocking the back of the Wild's with the heel of his wrist. "Maybe change your clothes every once and a while."
"You're one to talk." Wild grumbled, taking out his sheikah slate to look for something to wear. "I am not that bad."
You bite your lip to keep your amusement at bay and shrug as well. "If it's any consolation, Wild, you're not as bad as Twilight."
"I heard that!"
"You were supposed to!" Wind calls out for you and laughs loudly once more, pulling you along before taking off in a sprint. You looked behind you to see what happened, only to see Twilight chasing after you both.
"Wind, run!"
Hyrule
"Rulie', you gotta warn people before you say things like that." Wild chuckles as he knocks the Traveler in the back of the head in your stead while you stood staring at the boy agape.
"Sorry." He blushes and rubs the back of his head. "I couldn't stop myself fast enough."
"Wait- hold up." You find yourself saying. "....You mean it. Like... really really, you mean it. You wouldn't react that way if you didn't."
Hyrule coughs and bite his lips, bravely meeting you in the eyes. Goodness- you didn't think you have a thing for him but that particular expression has all cylinders firing off in your brain at once. You didn't even know he could pull that kind of look off. And he's not even trying!! It's not that kid fo context!
"Yup... I uh-... Well, there's nothing wrong with admitting it, right?"
"Rulie' I thought we had something." Legend dramatically put his hand to his heart, falling with his full weight onto the other hero. "The betrayal is deep Hero of Hyrule."
"Get off of me!"
"Just twist the knife deeper while you're at it!"
You snort and quickly cover your mouth with your hands, horrified that sound escaped you so easily.
It catches Hyrule's attention easily.
In an attempt to clear yourself of the embarrassment, you lean heavily in your bravado and wink at the hero in front of you. Hyrule manages to throw Legend off of him but he suddenly can't look you in the eye.
Hey- it was to save yourself from the embarrassment, not him.
"Of course there's nothing wrong with it." You find yourself saying. You continue to lean into your bravado and put your hands on your hips. "You're my favorite too, Link. So don't worry about it."
"Wait, really?" He looks up back to you, with a light dusting of pink over his cheeks.
"Um- they said Link." Warrior throws his arm on Hyrule's head, using it as a head rest. "Clearly they meant me."
"They did not!" Wind jumps on Warrior's arm. "They meant me!"
You start laughing again and when your eyes meet Hyrule's once last time, you wink again for good measure.
You both know who you meant.
Wild
"Whoops, did I say that out loud?" Wild laughs awkward, bringing his hand to the back of his neck. He scratches it, worried about how all of the people in the group turn to look at him.
"Yes." Sky tilts his head, trying (and failing) to keep the smile off of his face. "Yes, you did."
"My bad." He coughs, clearing his throat in the process. He does nothing to clear the blush on his face.
"Really?" You whisper, feeling your heart swell.
Wild bite his lip, turning on his heel. If he was trying to play it off and be inconspicuous, he's doing a horrible job of sweeping it under the rug. "Of course. Now- where were we?"
"No nono no no-" You grin wider and begin to chase the resident wild child. "You're not running away from this."
He actually takes off in a sprint.
You squawk, as do some of the other boy in the group before you decide to call his bluff and chase him as well. "Wild, get back here!"
"No, I'm good!" He shouts over his shoulder.
You nearly stop as you process your words before you decide to pick up the pace. You don't respond at first, too focused on closing the distance. You watch the hero as he runs, watching the steps he takes to copy them and not trip over the unfamiliar terrain.
He's not familiar with it either, but he seems to assimilate to any climate faster than anyone else you've ever seen.
Until he starts to slow down and looks behind him to see you running at him at full speed.
The scream he lets out is nothing short of comical and the brief second it took him to process and react to what he was was enough to allow you tackle him.
It doesn't work. He's too strong to be knocked over that easily but an attempt was made.
You laugh, feel as light as feather and very much out of breath. "Am I really your favorite?"
"Why did you chase me?!"
"That doesn't answer my question." You smile cheekily.
Wild pants and puts his hands on your shoulders, pushing you away from him so that he could look into your eyes. "...Yes."
"Perfect!" You kiss his cheek and start to run back to the group before either of you could get into trouble. "See you back at the group!"
"....What does that even mean?"
