The obnoxious ringtone of his phone rang is what jolted Harry awake.

It was the middle of the night, that much he knew, and he wasn’t thrilled about being woken up- but squinting at the caller ID through sleep-heavy eyes, he frowned seeing Y/N's name flash across the way too fucking bright screen. She wouldn't call for no reason.

They were still a bit fresh as a couple. He'd been working on getting her out of her shell, slowly but surely, but they weren't at the point of random 2 am calls quite yet. Knowing that had his heart rate spiking.

"Hello?" His voice was husky with sleep as he answered the call. "Y/N? S'everything okay, darling?" He sat up in bed, alert, swinging his legs over the side of the mattress.

“I’m so fucking sorry to call you, but I didn’t know what else to do.” Her panicked voice filtered through the phone. “I-My car was making a weird noise and I thought it’d be okay to come out and surprise you by coming back to town early since I could leave the work retreat early but- but it made a sound and then died- now can’t get it to start. I think I have a nail in my tire too and my phone is going to die- I’m scared.” her voice squeaked, rambling through the speaker he had set it on as he pulled sweatpants up his body.

“Do you- Do you think you can come and get me? I feel like such an asshole for asking and I know it's early- or, or late, but I-I don’t know anyone else around here and I don’t want to be alone.”

“S’fine, honey. Need you t'calm down for me, please." Harry soothed, his voice light as he tugged on a hoodie over the tee shirt he slung on haphazardly.

Hopefully it was clean.

"It's okay, you're not an asshole for calling me. M’glad you did." He grabbed his car keys and wallet off the nightstand, shoving them in his pocket. "Just send me your location and I'll be there. Need you t'stay in the car with the doors locked until I get there, alright? Mean it. Don’t open for anyone but me. M’on my way."

Twenty-five minutes later, Y/N's body sagged with relief as she saw Harry's headlights cutting through the dark night. There were barely any street lights on this stretch of road, just her luck, and the quiet of the route had begun to sketch her out.

Her breath fogged up the window as she shivered, her stupid choice of pajamas struggling to keep her warm in the chilly late night air. The oversized tee shirt and little shorts had been comfortable with the heat blasting, but it had been a poor decision when the car had died and the cold had started to sleep in.

She watched as his car pulled up behind hers, the engine rumbling softly to fill the silence. He didn’t cut it off as the driver's side door opened and Harry stepped out, his tall frame silhouetted against the harsh glow of his headlights.

Before he could even make it to her door, Y/N quickly opened it and stepped out into the cold night air, letting it nip her skin as she threw her arms around him, wrapping them around him snug without hesitation. Her body shivered against his warmth, clinging to him like a lifeline.

His arms went around her shoulders pulling her closer into his chest with a sigh, urging her head to rest against him as she breathed out relief against the strings of his hoodie. The large hand rubbed soothingly down her back trying to calm any remaining nerves she had left, realizing just how thin the shirt she wore was. “Darling… Where is your jacket?”

Y/N pulled back slightly, her teeth chattering as she rambled apologetically against his chest. "I-I didn't bring my jacket because I thought I was just gonna go straight from my car to my place! It was warmer when I left earlier today and I didn’t think-" She broke off with another shiver running through her body.

Harry clicked his tongue softly, giving her body a squeeze. "You should've brought it anyway, m’love. At least keep somethin’ in the back of the car. But we need t’get you warm, so let’s go." He chided as he ushered her towards his SUV. "In you get." He opened the passenger door for her and watched as she climbed inside. Her body was still shaking slightly from the cold, and he didn’t like that at all. Closing the door behind her, he jogged around to his own side and hopped in, reaching for his sweatshirt.

"Here, wear this." He murmured as he pulled off his sweatshirt and handed it to her as he settled into the driver's seat. It was warm from his body heat and smelled faintly of his cologne - a scent that Y/N had always had a known weakness for.

As she pulled it on over her head, the fabric swallowing her up, Harry reached for the heater controls and cranked the heat up to maximum. Even if it hadn’t been that long, he wanted to regulate her body temperature the best he could. The warm air began to blast out of the vents, filling the interior of the car with the warmth he knew she needed- and now him, considering he was just in the tee.

"Better?"

"Mhm..." She hummed softly, hugging the oversized sweatshirt around her like a blanket. Her teeth stopped chattering as the warmth from the heater and his clothes seeped into her skin. It didn’t take long for the shivers to slowly subside as she leaned back against the heated seat (thank god for his expensive taste in vehicles), feeling safe and warm for the first time since breaking down on the cold roadside tonight. "Thank you." She whispered her gratitude, reaching for his hand to lay a kiss on the back of it. "I didn't mean t'be reckless with it. I was just excited to get off early and get back home so I could see you tomorrow."

His smile lifted the corners of his lips as he felt her lips on the back of his knuckles as she spoke. "You know I'd go anywhere for you, right?" He asked quietly. It was still a bit of a new relationship, but he knew she was the one and he meant what he said. He really couldn't lay into her too badly when she'd been so excited to get home and spend time with him.

"I'm glad you called me instead of trying to tough it out alone. Please, lean on me a little, yeah? I'd be pissed if something happened to you because you didn't want to bother me." His tone turned serious for a moment before softening again. It was always hard to be firm with her when she looked up at him with those pretty eyes. She may not know the hold she had on him and just how much he liked her quite yet, but that didn't mean he couldn't start drilling it into her head now.

"You never have to hesitate calling me, okay? You call, I'll be there."

pet peeve in fics: when harry is a millionaire (it could be irl harry or just that he’s a rich businessman) and y/n is making $15 an hour and gets genuinely enraged when harry spends money on her. like average dudes who make 30k a year still spoil their girls why would you be mad that your millionaire boyfriend is spending money on you ?? like girl stand uppp 😭😭

I don’t like when Harry is written as a nonchalant bf and y/n is the lover girl and it won’t even be in the description it’ll just be unintentionally written that way. Personally I feel like that’s majority of straight relationships where the girl is completely obsessed and enamored with the bf and the man is very netureal about her so I get why some people could write that without realizing

Oh my God yes me too. If I wanted to experience a nonchalant BF I'd get one IRL (ভ⤙ ভ ")< I think there is a fine line between quiet boyfriend and bubbly gf, you gotta balance it out with him being completely obsessed with her. Idk I make the rules!!!

A plot where she owns the tattoo shop and he owns the tea room/bakery next door, and she’s a little mean but he kinda likes that. Gets flustered when she teases him about his cardigans when she comes in to get the lemon squares (he makes the best ones) and peach iced tea all while telling him to make sure his patrons know the front steps of her shop aren’t real estate to eat their scones with that warning look that makes him feel that twinge of both panic and excitement. She’s a bit crass and blunt in ways he wasn’t fully used to, beautiful in ways that he hadn’t seen and making him feel lightheaded every time she steps into his place with her very loud laugh. He’s a pretty man, sweet, a little quiet, eager to right his wrongs and happy to give her extras for free at the end of the night after finding something mundane to compliment her on.

She takes him as he is with his soft spoken, deep voice and his agreeable nature until one night he’s locking up and it’s dreadfully hot, his cardigan got ruined and the sleeves of his tee shirt are rolled up, only to run into her feeling a little insane because, well, she had no idea he had any tattoos at all and now she wants to know about all the ink he has, when he got it, what they mean (if anything), and most of all why the fuck he hasn’t come to her for a tattoo yet… and the answer, when asked in a pissed off tone to hide how much she likes what’s in front of her, is pretty simple, said with a smirk she isn’t used to.

“Pain gets me a little worked up, and so do beautiful people. Think I’d like you to see that side of me after a nice dinner, not in your chair…. Unless you’re into that sort of thing.”

Do you have one you can describe to me? Some of them are just blurbs or one shots so they're like one offs and we have blurb masterlists that are grouped by the year/years and then subsections in those with fluff, smut and angst!

I am sooo looking forward to the jungle rewrite moment when she sees him and he inspects her closely. Idk how to describe it but in the og when he touched her hair and was so interested in her freckles my heart always jumped. I was the anon that asked about the rewrite some time ago, and now i cannot wait for reading this moment rewritten because it really is all more detailed and so well described. Also can‘t wait for when he just gets undressed without any care cause he doesn‘t know shame omgg

I'm so excited to let you guys see it! I've been loving revisiting it and adding more detail. The plot isn't changing but I love having it more in depth and adding things that just felt like its missing when I reread it, it makes my heart so happy. It's definitely one of the more difficult stories we have because its a little hard to put myself in the mindset of someone who's essentially been cut off of humanity for 20 years besides seeing people in passing and hiding from them, but that's some of the exciting parts of revisiting it!

Unnecessary drama And heavy miscommunication - just for the sake of drama.

Characters in their 20-30thes acting like teenagers (too (emotional) immature etc..)

Children not acting their age (adults carrying around a 6-8 year old child or a 3 year old giving great relationship advice)

Sad endings (Reading is my happy place)

Pregnancy as a reason for staying/not leaving an abusive/toxic relationship (both male and female characters)

BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM! Each one I agree with.

I think the miscommunication trope is one of the most overused and irritating tropes. Like don't get me wrong I have used it before, but sparingly because I feel like 9/10 it's used to trigger an unnecessary 3rd act break up (don't even get me started on those)

Also adding in that as much as I do like a pregnancy, it has to be specific for me. I hate it when it's added just to be added or the poor child is a peace offering/bargaining chip because as much as people say it's just fiction I've seen too much of parents using children as reasons to stay miserable and making them miserable by extension and/or try to use them to fix a failing relationship when there are ways to do that without bringing a whole sentient child who will be the one who suffers the most from it.......... But I digress ʕ ͡° ʖ̯ ͡°ʔ

Yes it will happen! I've been doing the rewrite slowly in between other updates but I do plan on doing some more smuttier/slice of life blurbs when they come to me and when it's finished!

I’m so sorry. For me this is bullshit because we pay for that app I could see flagging it if people report it but other than that no. They should have no guidelines. I mean in the Spanish culture the women refer to their boyfriends and husbands (and sometimes their sons) as Papi and the same for the men they call their girlfriends and wives Mami for them it a word way of endearment. So now what are you going to use instead of Mama and for the other story that they flagged? I mean using woman isn’t that sexy but I don’t know of any other would you could use. Oh how about Madam oh no forget that lol

It is really annoying that they don't have actual humans reviewing it ( it's definitely AI flagging it) because if they looked the context would be obvious. I changed it to 'regular' pet names like baby, honey (need to listen to that leaked song actually) etc. I can't used Daddy, Mama, Mami, anything like that on Patreon anymore so it does limit me but I change it when/If it comes to tumblr. I won't hold off on it on here <3
