Every Christmas presented itself with the same exact problem. No, it was not an issue as to what she ought to buy Tristan for Christmas, nor was there any concern over what she might find for herself underneath the tree. The problem was far simpler: what to open first. Some years, excitement overcame her. Certain gifts required Tristan’s immediate attention so that Aurora could bask in his reaction. Other years, it seemed best to get the customary gifts out of the way (if only to assure Tristan that he would indeed get his replenishment of hand-embroidered handkerchiefs. Aurora still recalled the disappointment he’d tried to conceal the year that she had not made him any out of fear that he had grown tired of the repetitive gift). Some years, the grander gifts demanded to be given last for some practical reason or another that could only be given after all other gifts were opened; that usually made the choice easier. This year, the choice was not easy. It had required much internal debate, but eventually Aurora had settled on a course of action.

The handkerchiefs would be presented first. There was the traditional array of handkerchiefs with his initials, a few owls, some with sprigs of lavender, rather standard fare. Yet, while the designs were perhaps expected, there was something else to them. Visually, there was nothing that would draw much attention, but there was a scent. It was soft, barely there. Notes of lavender, but something else too. It smelled like Aurora, but also…decidedly not. Still, it was just a smell. Aurora hoped that her brother would, at least for the moment, dismiss it, assume it was simply some remnant of whatever perfume Aurora had been wearing when she’d embroidered the handkerchiefs.

She further hoped to misdirect him from the scent by putting a small velvet box nestled in the midst of the handkerchiefs. Inside the box was a tie clip. Once, “regard” rings had been all the rage. Aurora had more than a few in her jewelry collection. She thought it high time to revive and reinterpret the trend. Rather than spell “regard,” she had opted for her name instead. Two stunning amethysts bookended the piece with an opal, two rubies and a rather fetching piece of uvarovite as well. In years prior, she’d never been able to find a stone for the “U” of her name and finding one large enough had been difficult even now. Fortunately, she was only designing a tie pin, not a ring. Even more fortunate: the stone was a beautiful shade of green so that all of the colors of the piece represented her. Any vampire with any sort of age to them would recognize the meaning of the piece, the tie to her should Tristan wear it. It would convey her message where scent could not.

The remaining fare was somewhat typical: some new shirts, adorned with the lavender hearts that she’d introduced at his birthday; chocolate delights from their favorite little shop in Paris; some delightful fountain pens; and several other ornate gifts. Each carried that same something extra as the handkerchiefs, the same scent that lingered of Aurora without actually smelling precisely like her.

Finally, only one box remained. She handed it to Tristan and curled against him, nuzzling into his side. “This one is very special.” she murmured. And it was. Aurora still remained the torture of staying still, wrapped in God only knew what so that the perfumer could extract her scent. She’d had wraps at the spa before, but this was far different and had been exceedingly unpleasant. Aurora couldn’t remember the last time that she’d had to lay still for so long. Actually, she’d fallen asleep and had woken to the perfumer unwrapping her to begin scraping her body free of whatever he had rubbed over her body (some kind of fat that she did not truly wish to identify). In retrospect, Aurora did not think her skin had ever felt softer than after the perfumer had scraped every bit of tallow from her, and the scent he had captured had been well worth it. He’d captured Aurora. Aurora as she smelled when she was unadorned with perfume. Aurora as she simply was. With that start, it had been a simple matter for the perfumer to take her scent and work it into the cologne that would suit Tristan. Beneath it all would be a note that would belong uniquely to Aurora. Would Tristan catch it? Had she left enough breadcrumbs on his other gifts by spritzing some of them with the new cologne? “I had it made especially for you. Merry Christmas, Tristan.”

Being someone who read Under The Red Hood and came out with the firm belief that, for Jason, it's not about killing Joker, it's about Jason wanting proof Batman would choose him over the Joker (bc shelia chose the joker). Makes seeing any other media where it's all about just wanting the Joker dead is a teeny bit frustrating. to be honest

Jason could've killed the Joker himself, really, really easily. Jason kidnaps the Joker before the confrontation. I can't open my comic for a reference right now, but it felt like he had the Joker for quite a bit before the confrontation. He had him. He beat him up with a crowbar. He had every single opportunity to kill the Joker himself, but he didn't because that wasn't his goal. Make no mistake, he did plan for the Joker to be dead by the end of it, but do you see what im trying to say here

It's not about making Batman kill either. When Batman says he won't kill, Jason adjusts and goes, 'Let ME kill the Joker or kill me to stop me' instead. The test is all about Batman choosing him. The whole final confrontation is Jason's first death again. The parent, The Joker, and the explosives. It even ends with Jason unable to move as a bomb goes off right next to him again because the parent didn't choose Jason. And instead tried finding an option that'd benefit them and (consequencely) letting the Joker walk, again, lol, lmao <-in agony

FUNNIEST fucking shit that comes with making Danny eleven years old when he had his accident in "late at night, when the nightingale sings" is the implication following, that everything that happened in the show did too. And I fully intend on (mostly) keeping it like that. There'll be some changes (of which I need to figure out) but for the most part??? Yeah relatively the same.

Like I FULLY intend on keeping Dark Danny occurring 6 months post accident. Do you know how fucking HILARIOUS that is??? That Dan got his ass kicked by a goddamn FIFTH-SIXTH GRADER?? I'd never show my face ever again. Homeboy spent the last ten years being a one-man mass extinction event, only to get his ass beat by a kid who hasn't even lost his last baby tooth. That's hysterical. I'm losing my mind just thinking about it.

AND PARIAH DARK TOO. Imagine being an eons old tyrant capable of dragging whole towns down into your dimension, and you get singehandedly shoved back into your coffin in less than 48 hours by a kid whose bedtime is still 8:30. You didn't even have the time to expand your army! You were still trying to take over the city the kid came from!

And he just!!! Shoves you back in!! Insane! This kid hasn't even been dead for a full year yet! He's still growing in his ghost fangs! And he just knocked you flat on your ass in an oversized mech suit. What the fuck! It's like looking down and seeing a four week old kitten meowing very indignantly at you and trying to bite your feet, except that kitten is also actually a black-footed cat and they have a 60% kill success rate, and oops! Now you're dead. You took too long laughing at the kitten trying to attack you that it clawed up your pant leg and ripped out your throat.

COULD I, realistically, span these episodes out over the course of 2.5 years prior to Danny's family dying?? Yes I could! Do I think it's hilarious (and horribly traumatizing, which makes it twice as fun) to shove all of this into the span of (roughly) a year instead?? Yes. Because the show has such a skewed timeline that I've always just assumed that at the end of the show, Danny was starting his sophomore year in high school. So fuck it, lets go for it!

Ok ok so hear me out Twins au. Danny and Damian are twins. And you know the whole story. Danny gets "killed " moves in with the Fenton's and becomes phantom. Ad Damian doesn't know that. Well the magician summoning Damian's dead brother to enact his revenge on him has a very bad timing

"Oh robin. Dont you know the dead can have fangs. I've heard of a little tale. Of how you killed your own brother. Your twin in a quite a cruel and merciless way don't you think?" The magician drawls on over the horribly over used repetitive lines.

But it still stops Damian in his tracks. He can see as his family stop and look at him. With the look of horror and well concern. And he hates it. He can feel their gazes on him and it burns his skin.

He stops and tries to yell at them. To do something. To stop dawdling around.

Until a right flash of green stopped him. The circle lit up as a clawed hand grasped the edge from inside.

Unfortunately the magician wasn't a phony.

The being slowly crawls itself out. It's wearing striped prison clothes with conically oversized shackles? Huh.

Damian muses to himself as he prepares for battle . Must represent his or rather their lives in the league of assassin's.

The being finally looks up and shouts

"HAHA YOU CAN SUC MY DIC WALKER. I MAY BE OUT NOT ON MY OWN VOLITION BUT IM GONNA DO GHOST CRIMES AGAIN . And there's nothing you can do about it. "

Once again, you know who is underutilized in DCxDP crossovers? Battinson. Skrunkly shivering boi. Who we should definitely give children to care for. 

 Did you know that Jason canonically had a brother named Danny? Well you do now, and it should also be used more. 

 We all want to give Battinson a robin, so why not give him four for the price of two. He of course gets Dick from the circus- he’s never going to go into public again, this was the first time he’d gone to do something out of his comfort zone for a while and look how that turned out. 

 And on one of the nights that Dick has to stay home (Alfred insists he must finish his homework if he wants to go out on patrol) Bruce returns to the batmobile to find not one child, but two. Is Danny reincarnated? Just appeared one day? Who knows, but he’s here now and going to protect his little brother. 

 Bruce might have tears in his eyes when they both hit him in the kneecaps and bolt because even with the armor it still hurts. How he manages to grab both kids he’s not too sure, but he ends up getting them food after they put the tires back. He also doesn’t understand how he’s convinced them into the car but they’ve both conked out and maybe he’s panicking and needs Alfred- 

 D-Dick why is there another child here? He’s the neighbor, cool cool. W-what do you mean he’s home alone, he’s like, 4?? What do you mean he’s been alone for a week now???
