watch and learn (part four)
pairing fratboy! rafe cameron x female reader
rating explicit 18+
content warning drug and alcohol use
summary it takes one conversation with your college dorm neighbor to know you won’t get along. rafe is loud, rude, and short-tempered. after he overhears you talking about a disappointing fling, he loses his confidence in his sexual abilities and suggests you start hooking up to both improve your skills in the bedroom. you can’t stand him, but it’s too good of an offer to turn down.
» masterlist
*+:★:+*━━━*+:★:+*━━━*+:★:+*
Rafe is relieved that you don’t linger in the morning. He’s not one for pillow talk.
All you did was sleep next to each other, but waking up next to a girl to talk and cuddle is just too much for him. It borders on boyfriend shit, and he doesn’t do boyfriend shit.
He woke up with you pressed tightly against him, legs tangled, his nose buried in your hair. And maybe he did like it for a second, but that was just from the daze of part-consciousness.
Rafe lends you a pair of sweatpants on top of the boxers and t-shirt you’ve already wearing so you can deal with your door’s lock issue.
You leave his room without many words exchanged, thankfully able to sort the problem out soon after putting an emergency request in with maintenance.
Rafe spends most of his Sunday at the frat house, playing video games with his buddies. When Blake settles onto the couch, he pats Rafe’s shoulder. Rafe is focusing on the screen, but he glances at his friend for a second.
“I dm’d her,” he says with a grin. Rafe immediately clues in that he’s talking about you.
“I put in a good word for you,” Rafe replies, glad he has the game to pay attention to. He feels awkward talking about this. About you.
“Appreciate it, man,” he laughs.
“You thinking of, uh, dating her or…?” Rafe asks, tense but desperate to know if he might lose the best fuck buddy he’s ever had.
“Maybe. We’ll see,” Blake says. Rafe sees him typing from his peripheral vision, surely working on a message to you.
Rafe gave you the heads up, so when you’re sitting in your room reading an article for school, you’re not surprised when Blake follows and messages you on Instagram. You follow back and respond, open to getting to know him.
After dinner that night, Rafe texts you: cowgirl time?
You laugh. It’s a stark difference from the g-rated messages you’ve been getting from Blake all day.
You reply: i’ll be over soon
You’re holding Rafe’s folded clothes when you knock. He opens his door and takes them from you as you walk into his room.
“They fixed my lock,” you say. “One question for you, though.”
Rafe shuts the door and drops the clothes onto his desk, then picks up the wrapped condom he has ready and tosses it on the bed.
“What?” he asks as you sit on his mattress.
“How come you were cuddling me this morning if you hate it so much?” you say.
Rafe feels the tips of his ears burn with embarrassment.
“I wasn’t,” he says. It’s funny seeing him shy for once. It’s even a little cute.
He was embracing you pretty sweetly this morning. You woke up with his warm, heavy arm wrapped around your shoulders, his head nuzzled into the nape of your neck, his snores sporadic and low.
You know it was just a sleep-induced reflex in his tiny bed, but you can’t pass up a chance to mess with him.
“It’s okay to like it,” you joke. “It doesn’t have to mean anything.”
Rafe can’t have this conversation. He leans over, his hands on your cheeks as he kisses you. He’s not wasting any more time.
You let him push you onto your back, lying in the middle of his bed, your head resting on his pillow. Rafe hovers over you and grinds against you, his hard bulge pushing against your middle.
You’re already throbbing for him as his lips roam over your neck. You angle yourself so that he can have full access to you, and he accepts the invitation immediately, his hot mouth on your throat.
He’s slow and tender. This is a far cry from the man who immediately went to groping you just a few nights ago.
Your hands find his hair, raking through his soft locks as he kisses and sucks at your neck. He lets out a soft, nearly silent moan as gently graze his scalp. The sensation gives him goosebumps.
“That feel nice?” you whisper with a smile. Rafe can only nod. He didn’t even have to tell you to do it. He didn’t even know he liked it until you did it.
You continue to play with his hair while he kisses your neck. Rafe feels you writhing beneath him, as if your body is begging for his.
You take turns taking off each other’s clothes with earnest movements, your pulse growing even faster once his boxers are off, his cock raised and swollen. He lingers over you, eyes sweeping over your face, before he puts his mouth on your neck again.
He kisses and sucks, making you gently buck your hips against him.
“You gonna ride me, baby?” Rafe asks against your skin. Your yes comes out with a raw exhale.
His hand cups your waist, pushing to encourage you to roll to your side and switch positions. He settles on his back as you straddle him, feeling the underside of his firm length pressing against your stomach.
“Don’t be shy,” Rafe says. You look down at him with a hungry look in your eyes and nod. It’s exhilarating to see you hanging on his words; outside of sex, you gibe and pester each other, but here, right now, you’re in perfect harmony.
You pick up the shiny condom wrapper he left on the bed and he smirks in satisfaction.
“Put it on me,” he instructs. “It shows how bad you want it.”
You open the wrapper and settle on your knees to set the condom on his tip, rolling the lubed latex down his thick cock.
The sight of you holding him with one hand and rolling the condom down with the other makes Rafe’s brain foggy.
You thought you’d feel graceless turning to mount him in reverse cowgirl, but it feels natural and familiar now that you’re getting more comfortable with him, remembering this is all to help each other improve. You sink down onto him, body tensing at the feeling of him stretching you out.
You shudder, eyes squeezing shut, remembering how he encouraged you talk through it last night in the car.
“You’re so big,” you praise, voice breathy.
“Yeah?” he groans behind you. “You take my dick so fucking good.”
Your silky walls hug him perfectly, your body starting to rock. He watches your pussy swallow his girth, wishing you would go faster, but letting you take your time and adjust.
Rafe always went fast before, right to what he wanted most, but you’re teaching him that there’s pleasure in the lead-up, too. Coming up with the proposal to do this with you was the best idea he’s ever had.
You arch your back, trembling as you start to quicken your pace, sliding up and down his slick cock and gasping at the pleasure of him hitting so deep inside of you.
Rafe’s breaths are ragged as he watches your ass bounce with every slam. His hands are on your hips, but his touch is feather-light, letting you do it all.
Between your thrusts, you pause when he’s bottomed out to writhe and roll on him, enjoying every angle as he massages inside of you.
“Yeah, just like that,” he groans as you squeeze around him.
“Should I…” you begin. You look over your shoulder to see the dazzling sight of his quirked up lips, lids heavy, bare chest glistening with sweat. You remind yourself to stop being so nervous. “I’m gonna touch myself.”
“Fuck,” he whispers. “Good girl.” He desperately wants to watch, but he’s here to get better in bed, and putting your pleasure first sometimes is clearly something he needs to work on.
Rafe hears you moan, knowing you’re rubbing yourself. He looks up at the ceiling to keep himself from cumming from hearing your groans mixed with the sound of your wetness.
“Shit, I…” you say, your thighs starting to weaken. “Okay, you can help a little.”
He immediately bucks his hips against you, positioning himself so he can fuck you while underneath you. The pressure from him jolting up against you is like a drug.
“How am I doing?” he rasps. Your moans are telling him everything he needs to know.
“You’re… fuck…” you breathe, your body shaking with every thrust. “Perfect.”
The pleasure from your words quells him. He feels you clenching around him and he knows with certainty now when you’re about to reach your peak.
His hands are on the small of your back, fingers splayed over your skin, as you ride him into a mind-blowing orgasm. Every inch of your skin tingles as you cum, looking down at your hands on his sheets.
You eventually lift off of him, breathless, turning to look at him. Rafe loves that expression on your face, pure elation and fatigue.
“However you want me,” you tell him tiredly, eager to give him the same feeling you gave him.
“On your knees,” Rafe says. He doesn’t even have to think about it. You twist into position for him, cheek pressed against his bed, unable to hold yourself up any longer.
Rafe’s hand is on his cock as he guides himself into you, revelling over how pretty your cunt looks, so swollen and wet.
His hands are tight against your hips as he slams into you, making your body rock. He looks down to your face, taking in your profile as you accept all of him, your lips parted.
“However I want?” he mutters, panting as he pushes in and out of you. “That’s how much you love this dick, yeah?”
“However you want,” you echo, your voice raspy from tiredness. “Whatever will make you cum inside me.”
He slaps your ass, the lust taking over him, and immediately worries it was too much.
The low moan you let out tells him it was a good move. He smirks to himself, thrashing harder, balls slapping against you, bed squeaking beneath you.
You feel him harden and with a few more sloppy thrusts, he cums, letting out a tangled string of fuck’s.
He pulls out and you drop to your side, laughing out of bliss. You knew sex was good, but never that it was this good.
As Rafe cleans up, you sit up to find your clothes, utterly fucked out. While you’re sliding your top on, he sits on the edge of his bed close to you, boxers back on and blue eyes travelling over your face.
“So, how… was your day?” he stiffly asks.
You laugh. Hard. He’s so awkward about it, but he’s trying. It’s endearing.
“Aftercare,” you say. “Look at you go.”
Your laugh is contagious, making him chuckle, too.
“It was good. My readings are kind of killing me, but good. How was your day?”
You stand to put your pants on as Rafe watches you, his dirty blond hair tousled.
“Just played video games with the guys,” he replies.
“You know we’re here for school, right, frat boy?” you tease.
“What’s that?” Rafe plays along. You chuckle and nudge his shoulder.
“I need a shower,” you say. “Promise I won’t show up in a towel this time. Well done.”
“You’re welcome,” he says. You smile and roll your eyes at him before leaving his room.
Between gruellingly long classes and hanging out with friends in his free time, the week seems to get away from Rafe. Before he knows it, it’s Thursday night and he’s hanging out with his brothers at the frat house.
Someone mentions ordering food, and as a show of camaraderie, Rafe picks up the tab. As he sits at the dining table amongst large group of guys, Sam gets to talking.
“Rafe, you think we could go with your car tomorrow, too?” Sam asks. “You could fit four of us, right?”
“Yeah, sure.” Rafe figures that all the new pledges are going to get stuck with the jobs nobody else wants, like driving to certain outings. It’s only an hour drive, though, so he won’t complain.
The frat has plans to go south to Sam’s family’s lakehouse for the weekend. He’s only been part of the frat for almost half a month now, but Rafe is thoroughly enjoying having such a full social calendar.
“It was supposed to be just us brothers…” He shoots a look at Blake.
“What? You said it was cool,” Blake laughs.
“Who else is coming?” Rafe asks.
“Blake invited your hot neighbor,” Sam says. Rafe almost wants to say that you have a name, the reflex to defend you surprising him.
“She said yes?” Rafe asks, his tone hastily snide.
“She’s bringing friends, too,” Blake says, not catching onto Rafe’s irritation. “It’ll be more fun having girls around. Trust me.”
“Can I invite some girls, too?” another frat brother asks.
Rafe glances down at his paper plate, his jaw tight. If you start something real with Blake, this is over. He regrets not seeing you since Sunday. He should have taken advantage of the potentially limited time with you.
When he heads back to his dorm room later that night, Rafe texts you: soo ur coming this weekend?
You respond: what kind of coming?
You’re at Liv’s, talking about what to pack for the upcoming getaway. You’re only staying for a night and half a day, but you don’t want to risk forgetting anything.
“This one? Or this one?” Liv asks, holding up two bikinis.
“The red one,” you answer. Blake only mentioned that there’s a hot tub at the lakehouse about ten times.
You didn’t think you’d say yes when he first asked about this weekend, but when Liv and three other friends said they’d be up for it, you figured a getaway would be fun. Even if it involved a group of rowdy frat boys.
Blake mentioned it was supposed to be a bonding trip, whatever that means, but said that he wants you to come. You’re still not sure how you feel about him, but you’re willing to pursue it.
Your phone buzzes.
Rafe: lol shut up
You smile at the message.
“What’d he say?” Liv asks, a smile on her face. She knows you’ve been casually texting Blake back and forth.
“It’s Rafe this time,” you tell her. “Probably a booty call.”
You reply to him: yeah I’m coming. does that make me a frat bro too
Rafe: u wish
You: i do :( i really do wish
You see the bubbles on your screen telling you that he’s typing.
Rafe: come over?
You just got to Liv’s and don’t want to bail on her for a guy. So you reply to Rafe: can’t tonight.
Rafe’s stomach drops at the notification. Maybe you’re done. Maybe all he got was three nights with you, before another guy swept in to take away the best no-strings-attached sex he could ask for.
He feels better when you reply: but i’ll see you tomorrow :). Good. At least you’re not tied down to anybody yet.
When you pull into the driveway of the lakehouse the next evening, you realize the word house doesn’t cut it. Maybe manor would be a better fit. Or palace. The place is gigantic.
You and your friends pile out of the car and enter the storm of loud men enjoying uncurbed fun and excessive beer. Sigma Chi brothers are scattered around the first story of the house, but the majority of them are surrounding the kitchen island, bottles and solo cups littering the granite counter-top.
Rafe has to look away when Blake greets you with a hug. He hasn’t mentioned to anybody that you’re technically still hooking up, but now, being in the same room with both of you, he feels a competitive urge catch fire in his gut.
He thought he liked Blake. He doesn’t right now.
Thankfully, your friend groups seem to naturally merge together. The endless amount of liquor probably helps.
During a rambunctious game of flip cup that you decide to sit out, in the haze of your tipsiness, you’re not sure if Rafe finds you or you find him or you find each other at the same time, but you’re soon standing by the fridge together, tension thick between you as you watch the drinking game unfold.
Rafe can’t help himself. He has to ask.
“What were you so busy with last night?”
“I was with my friend,” you say. “What were you so eager to practice?”
Rafe cracks a smile, ducking his head so you and only you can hear his low, smooth voice.
“I wanna see how fast I can make you cum.” Arousal coils in your stomach instantly. “I bet I could do it in a minute now.”
He pulls back, his smile coy.
“We’ve had sex like two times-”
“Three.”
“Three,” you laugh. “And you’re that sure of your skills?”
Rafe simply nods, taking a slow drag of his drink.
“I don’t know where you get that confidence from,” you say, looking at him with feigned disapproval.
“You called me perfect,” he says.
“Doesn’t sound like me.”
The group playing flip cup erupts in a loud applause. You can tell which group lost the game immediately by looking at Blake, who’s laughing and excitedly shaking his friend by the shoulders.
You watch him, realizing okay, you definitely have a crush. He’s cute and charismatic and if the messages you’ve exchanged this week are any indication of his character, he’s kind, too.
Rafe is looking at you the entire time, at the smile on your face.
“And you like this?” you tease, looking back at Rafe and gesturing to the group of boisterous frat boys.
“You mean fun?” Rafe replies. You laugh. You can admit you’re having fun, too. But this is what you and Rafe do. You mess with each other.
“I couldn’t be around this 24/7,” you say.
“I’m gonna be when I move in to the house next semester.” Rafe realizes he’s waiting on your reaction with bated breath, to see how you feel about not sharing a wall anymore.
But he’s interrupted by Blake, who approaches you with a drunken smile.
“Why didn’t you play?” he asks softly, tapping your shoulder.
“For my own safety,” you reply. “You guys are insane.”
“She’s so rude,” Blake says to Rafe, who can only nod and take another sip of his drink to swallow down the confusing lump of anger he feels growing in his chest.
“You mentioned a hot tub?” you say to Blake, the promise of a warm soak sounding amazing. Rafe wonders what else Blake mentioned to you.
Blake’s smile widens and when he offers his hand, you take it and let him lead you out of the kitchen. Rafe’s fist tightens around his cup.
Liv and two other frat boys join you and Blake in the hot tub. You have fun talking and joking with them as your beer wears off. You notice Blake moving closer to you as the night goes on.
Things slow down close to 2 a.m. People start to retire to the guest rooms. Some don’t even make it and pass out on the couch.
Rafe is still awake when you come through the back porch doors in your bikini, your hardly covered body wet. The sight makes his groin tighten.
He’s standing in the dining room snacking on pretzels and you meet his gaze. He has something about him that strikes you every time you see him. He’s just so handsome.
He seems entirely aware and alert.
“You’re sober, too?” you say with a surprised laugh, pacing to the other side of the dining table.
“I am,” he replies. You lean over to take a pretzel, giving him a good glance at your cleavage.
Truthfully, Rafe cut himself off when he started feeling buzzed. He stayed awake and sober for you.
The moment he watched Blake lead you away, he knew he had to have you at least one more time before you’re spoken for. Nobody’s going to take you away from him any longer, at least not tonight.
So before Sam went to bed, he convinced him to give him the keys to his family’s boat that’s sitting in the water down by the lakeside dock.
“You ever fucked on a boat?” Rafe asks, his eyes glinting, his dimples deep. He holds up a key.
You put a hand on your hip, excitement flooding your every sense.
“First a car, now a boat?” you say, a smirk growing on your face. Is he seriously about to take you out this late at night? He’s insatiable. And adventurous. It’s thrilling.
“Come on,” Rafe rasps with a bit of a whine to his voice, stepping closer to you, towering over you as his hand drags over your arm.
You couldn’t say no if you tried.

Yo! I was wondering if you could do some headcannons for Hawks, Aizawa, and All Might with a Pro Hero husband reader? I think it would be really cool if reader had a quirk that gave him the abilities of a skinwalker. He could be able to shapeshifter into his beast form, mimic voices he hears, regeneration, etc. Maybe he could be really tall (around 7ft) even when he isn’t using his quirk, and he looks creepy but is really sweet? I think it would be cool to see the medias reaction too. Sorry for the length. Thank you!!!
Shapeshifter!
Keigo Takami; Shouta Aizawa, Toshinori Yagi x ProHero!Husband!Reader Summary: A character is married to a scary looking hero who’s actually a sweetheart. How does the media react? How did they meet?
★☽A/N: It’s been a while since I wrote headcannons! I really hope I improved! Oh! I had my birthday a couple days ago! September 4, hehe! So I consider this a bit of a gift to you guys for my birthday!
Contents: FLUFF – Headcannons Quirk: Skinwalker The user can alter their physical appearance to mimic any living creature, including humans and animals. This ability allows them to change their voice, size, and even mimic specific characteristics, such as muscle structure or hair. The transformation can be partial or full, depending on the user’s control. However, maintaining a transformation for extended periods drains energy, and extreme changes may lead to temporary exhaustion or loss of control.
ˋˏ-༻❁༺-ˎˊ
Keigo Takami (Keigo)
The number 2 hero probably met Y/N when he just started his agency at 18 years old. He was on patrol when he saw a thief stealing an old lady’s purse. As the fastest, he immediately got to action, chasing the thief with lightning speed. Just before he could reach the purse, a cheetah suddenly ran into him, blocking his path and swiftly grabbing the thief by the collar with shark canine teeth.
The moment the cheetah ensured that it had disabled the thief, it suddenly changed into a tall male. He was towering over everyone who walked past, staring at him with a scared glare. Keigo figured he was perhaps 7ft (213cm) tall which practically towered the hero. He looked up at the figure, watching as he looked around for the owner of the purse.
He had to admit.
The male was tall and menacing. He had piercings around his ear, colors similar to his outfit. Takami figured he was a pro hero like himself. ‘But how did I not know him?’ he wondered. ‘Maybe an underground hero?’ he thought. Keigo just shrugged it off and walked over to him.
“Hey, big fela!” A shiver went down the hero’s spine when he saw the tall H/C haired man turn to look at him, eyes piercing through his soul. “J..Just wondering if you want me to give the purse back to its owner? I’m sure she’ll be very happy to get it back!” he managed to utter with a slight stutter.
The H/C haired tilted his head in confusion, but then his eyes widened in realization. “Oh- right!” The blonde couldn’t stop the chuckle from coming out of his throat. ‘I didn’t expect him to be so awkward!’ And he had to admit, he judged the hero too soon. His menacing looks were the total opposite to his sweet personality.
“Name’s Hawks. You?” he asked, receiving the purse from the tall hero. “Chimera.” He smiled. Hawks’s heart almost exploded!! His smile was so gentle and soft, a total contrast to his terrifying aura and looks! “So… What’s your Quirk? It’s hella unique!” Keigo commented. “Uhm… like a skinwalker..” Chimera mumbled. Takami was impressed. “A skinwalker? How cool!” he complimented.
“Thank you..” Chimera smiled.
And now they’ve been married for maybe two years? And Keigo is probably one of the happiest birds ever!
In his free time with Y/N, he would play a guessing game with him where Y/N had to transform into a person or an animal and Keigo had to guess who the person was or what animal it was! (He lost most of the time since he didn’t know much about animals… but he was excellent at recognizing people!”
The media would always talk about how scary the hero was, how he would turn into the scariest things just so he could fight. But Keigo? Total opposite! He is infatuated with how amazing Y/N’s Quirk is! Imagine being able to transform into a cerberus?!
Despite his terrifying and frightening aura and looks, he was such a sweet man! Whenever Keigo and Y/N went out together, he would scare almost everyone who laid eyes on him! The rest just glared at him with disgust, which Keigo hated.
One time, Keigo and Y/N had just got out of the 7-11 where he found himself staring at a hungry kitten. Y/N looked at him with an excited face. “Wait here!” he said before rushing back into the store. Keigo didn’t know what he was doing until he came out of the store with a small packet of cat food. His heart ached out of affection when he watched Y/N give the food to the young kitten. His soft gentle smile, a rare sight, brought joy and love to Keigo’s heart.
Shouta Aizawa (Eraserhead)
Both Y/N and Shouta probably met when they were in high school! But Y/N was in a different class which made them meet extremely late. During their 1st year, around their second semester, both class 1A and 1B were going to have their joint training. This is probably the first time he met Y/N, teaming up with him to go against another team.
Shouta looked over to his side, watching the boy who was much taller than he was. He was broad and frightening to look like. He honestly believed their team would immediately win just by having the H/C look at their opponents the way he was staring at Shouta–
‘Wait-’ He realized Y/N was looking right back at him. He instantly blushed and looked away, silently cursing himself for staring at the male. “Sorry…” he managed to mutter. He heard Y/N respond with a hum.
He turned back and found the tall male walking forward before jogging, and then sprinting. Before Shouta knew it, Y/N was sprinting and quickly turned into a peregrine falcon and flew off. Shouta noticed how he was flying so fast, as if he was flying 5km per minute which was impressive to the ravenhead.
And in a matter of minutes, their team had won!
Y/N had rendered the other team’s members unconscious and had won for his team. Shouta was speechless! Even Hizashi and Oboro who were watching from the viewer room were just as speechless as their best friend!
Shouta walked up to Y/N with an embarrassed look. Despite Y/N’s spine-chilling presence, he managed to utter a “thank you..” to Y/N. Y/N smiled at him, thanking him with a gentle voice. Shouta didn’t stop the shivers going down his spine. His gentle voice and smile was different from his looks and presence, a feeling of comfort from the H/C’s gentle voice.
And now they’re much older! Like… 12-13 years older.. And their love never faded! It even grew when they got married!
Shouta had just started the year with his new students, thankfully not expelling them like the last batch of students. He genuinely saw potential in all of them and Y/N noticed and did not regret teasing Shouta about it, much to his protests.
Y/N was seen as a creepy person by the news, for his towering height and his death glares. But Shouta knew it wasn’t true. Y/N was actually a big softie and sweetheart. He was a gentleman to all women, growing up with a mom who made sure he treated women with respect.
Like one time, they were out to eat and they saw a woman walking alone with a scared expression. Y/N, with no hesitation, walked over to the lady. She was about to scream for help because of how scary he looked, but she was calmed down by Y/N’s gentle and soft voice. He ended up guiding her to her car with no troubles.
Such a gentleman! No wonder Shouta is obsessed with his husband!
Toshinori Yagi (All Might)
The number one hero! A symbol of peace! Toshinori was proud of himself for finally making his dream come true after being Quirkless and being given One for All by his mentor. Not only that, but the blonde was happy he would’ve made his mentor, Nana, proud, bringing a soft smile to his face.
During one of his missions, he had to go to America and was partnered with one of the underground heroes named “Chimera” who would accompany him.
He had to admit. Out of all the villains he had to face, including All for One— Chimera was the most terrifying. As a tall man himself, he wasn’t scared of him due to his height, for he was taller by 3 inches but his eyes… The way he practically stared into Yagi’s soul was already bone-chilling to him and made him even terrified by thinking what sort of Quirk the H/C could have.
He was impressed by Chimera’s quick thinking and fast agility, making things a breeze. And the way the hero switched between animals was impressive! And it was on the go as well! The blonde couldn’t help but appreciate the hero more.
After the mission, All Might went up to Chimera and gave him the brightest smile. “You’re really good with your Quirk!” he complimented. Chimera turned to him with a threatening stare, giving shivers down Toshinori’s spine. “Y-You’re really impressive..” The blonde managed to let out. “I-I’m All Might.” He extended his shaking hand towards the hero with a crooked and forced smile.
The blonde was surprised to see Chimera smile. He thought his smile would’ve been terrifying and bone-chilling– So he was shocked to see such a gentle smile. It was a small one, almost non-visible, but his smile was still there, gentle and soft. And in his voice, as gentle and as soft as his smile, he said, “Thank you” with his tender smile.
ALL MIGHT IS SMITTEN! By now, in his 20 year marriage with Chimera, he had gotten used to Y/N’s horrifying appearance and eventually loved how scary he looked, with his tall appearance and hostile stares.
The public, around 10 years into his marriage, was shocked to hear that the number one hero was married to such a creepy underground hero! And Toshinori did not care, he loved the way he was!
The public, until now, are still terrified of the hero, even after he retired before his husband. Toshinori didn’t care much about how he retired, or that he still had his scary reputation. He loved Y/N and that was that.
After Toshinori retired and used his real form, he realized how short he was compared to Y/N now. It was shocking but he didn’t mind it.

ミ★ 𝒟𝒶𝓉𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝒦𝓎𝓁𝑒 𝐵𝓇𝑜𝒻𝓁𝑜𝓋𝓈𝓀𝒾 𝐻𝒞𝓈 ★彡
(+some general)
MASTERLIST
Doesn’t crush often but when he does, he crushes hard
Hot take- we would not choose a study date as a first date
^ I see him as the kinda guy who dates with a long term goal in mind and would want to get to know someone well off the bat
^ Bro is not messing around- he would want a first date where the two of you talk a lot and he can get to know you before committing
^I think his ideal first date would be a movie then a cafe/restaurant. Movie first so there’s a couple hours to ease the awkward first date tension and then coffee/food to talk about the movie and eventually branch the conversation out
He sends those cryptic texts like “be alert…” when there was mugging in town or something
Tags you in every post he sees. You’ll wake up and check social media to thirty messages in your inbox and they’re all from Kyle
The kinda guy to be like “Did you look at the post I sent you about the guy at the bus stop?”
Got his account banned on Twitter and went absolutely ballistic while you tried to calm him down
Runs Hay Day like it’s the navy
Definitely the type to be hooked on his phone until it dies and then complain that you’re on yours “Bro, let’s just talk about the political and economic state of the world right now…”
This might be another hot take but I don’t think he would want a childish partner, he want to be your boyfriend not your dad
^Having to zip up your coat, tie your shoelaces, or cut your food- I don’t think he would mind doing it a couple times but repeating offences would irritate him
Not big on pet names
^ I think he would be one to call you ‘bro’ ‘man’ and ‘dude’ a lot just out of habit but would probably just call you an abbreviation of your name if anything
^ perhaps babe on very rare occasion
HATES PDA
^ I fear I may have many hot takes in this post
^He would be pretty touchy in private but in public? Hell no
^ talks shit about couples who can’t keep their hands off each other in public and absentmindedly wrinkles his nose in disgust
^ the only PDA he would accept is hand holding or a quick hug
Calls and FaceTimes you out of the blue but will immediately hang up if you’re busy or with other people and call back later
He is either the most sound sleeper ever or he wakes up at the drop a pin- either way, he always ends up slinging his lanky arms around you
He’s weirdly good with hair and would have no problem braiding yours or styling it
Super supportive aspiration wise
^ sports games? He’s the loudest in the crowd. Theatre? He’s on the edge of his seat watching. Art? He’s looking at your creations like they’re in a museum.
If you have bad habits (smoking, drinking, etc.) he would try to ease you out of them but if that fails it would definitely cause conflict in the relationship
Has his moments where he snaps at you
Fights wouldn’t be often but they would be big
He would enjoy playful banter and someone who challenges him to improve
I think he would enjoy a lot of the lower beats of the relationship like staying in to watch movies, cooking together, walking and talking, silently enjoying each others company, etc.
He posts Instagram carrousels and every single one has a picture of you in it
Doesn’t even entertain people who try to flirt with him “No, thanks.” “I’m dating someone.” “I’m good.”
Shows you Reddit posts and complains about how obviously fake they are
Gets irritated by bad acting in movies “He called her Courtney Dove, fucking idiot.” “Why does she chew like that?” “Her accent sounds fake.”
Has a secret TikTok account and doesn’t know that you watch his videos on a fake account
He is well aware of rage bait but it still makes him mad because so many people fall for it so he’ll end up commenting anyways
Easily jealous
^ if he sees you talking to another guy he doesn’t trust he’ll insert himself into the conversation and pretend he knows what’s going on
Checks up on you a lot
^ He just has to know that you're okay, he has to be sure that you're safe and that if something were to happen, you would call him without thinking twice.
He wants to communicate but he’s lowkey really bad at it and can’t get in an argument with you without yelling
I imagine him as a runner
^ he’ll probably run to your house at ungodly hours, drink some water, give you a kiss, and keep running
^also lovvvves to show you his stats
He’s really good at cooking and always takes control when you two are cooking/baking together
Didn’t want to dress up on Halloween but you ultimately coerced him into doing a corny couples costume
Has a longer skincare routine than you do
He’s one of those guys to pretend to hate the reality shows and soap operas that you watch- he’ll peak from his phone, then stand from behind the couch and then he’s fully invested in the plot

For the prompt game, maybe 7 with price and m!reader. Price gets pissed off that reader almost got themselves killed on a mission to protect him. Just some lovely old man angst
Tumblr's acting up again and it's deleted my draft like 3 times so fingers crossed this works else I will cry😓 . I saw the old man angst and immediately thought of Rodolfoparras work and this so yeah. Play the game HERE.
Prompt: “Well, I’m sorry I fell in love with you, okay? But it happened and I can’t do shit about it.” “You… What?”
CW: SFW-ish, Omega John Price, Alpha Male reader, mentions of gore, kissing, angst, omegaverse.
When your file had landed on his desk he had contemplated refusing; you were a stereotypical alpha — a loudmouthed meathead with little regard for your own health, headstrong and stupidly stubborn over the dumbest shit, and with a long list of incident reports dating back to the first day you joined the army. TF141 was your last chance before a dishonorable discharge and Price, stupidly, had taken you in like the stray you were.
Safe to say you turned out to be the leading cause of his grey hairs with all the shit you pulled. . . but. . . not to the extent he expected.
Unlike most alphas, you were surprisingly receptive to taking orders from an omega like Price, and carried yourself around the others without attempting to establish the dated hierarchy. After giving you guidance, and learning how you thought, Price had been seeing serious improvement.
'Course, all of that went down the drain when you decided to charge head first into a group of enemies when Price had gotten stabbed.
"What the fuck were you thinking lad?" Price hisses harshly under his breath, eyes boring a hole between your brows. He's standing at the foot of the medical bed, watching your chest rise and fall in a steady rhythm. "What the fuck were you thinking?" You better not die so he can kill you himself.
He doesn't expect you to answer, knocked out as you are with your chest wrapped in fresh bandages after the docs fished out who knows how many bullets from your torso— 16, his inner omega reminds him, 16 bullets he took for You.
He sighs, "You're a lucky muppet." Walking around the bed he places a hand on your thigh, slowly inching up to rest on your lower abdomen, dark red spots denoting where bullet wounds lie. "But a stupid alpha." He growls. It's a good thing military alphas are like walking tanks of fat and muscle, you can take a few hits, though the thought does little to soothe his omega when you lay unconscious.
He doesn't even notice he's making a small distressed sound in his chest until your eyes flutter open, squinting from the harshness of artificial lights before you notice him looming over you; something between a guardian angel and death itself.
"Price?" Your nose twitches, lungs expanding despite the ache in your chest to catch his scent, your alpha noticing the sharp acrid taste hiding his usual pine smell. "What happened?" You ask, achy as you are you manage to tilt your head enough to let out a low chest vibrating purr, seeking to calm your omega.
"What happened, it that you dumb muppet almost died!" He hisses, anger making his scent even harsher, hating himself how his omega swoons at the purr, at how you put him before yourself even when you're knocking on death's door. "Were you trying to get killed?"
You hand your head and look away. You can scarcely recall what happened, the drugs and adrenaline muddling your mind so any memory comes out like an abstract painting, but one detail remains — Rage.
A Deep.
—bleeding flesh neath your fingernails, painfilled screams silenced by your snarls—
Dark.
—the 'crack' of bone against stone as the strength behind your hands forced the skull to shatter, blood and brains splashing against your face—
Animalistic.
—desperate hands scrambling against your head, the frantic pulse beneath your tongue rapidly dwindling once your teeth dug deep enough to tear through the jugular—
Rage.
You don't remember ever being as angry as you'd been when you'd seen Price clutching his side, the bloodied blade of a knife clenched between his fingers, unknown hostiles encroaching towards him. Your omega had been injured. Your omega had been injured. And you didn't think twice, vision turned as red as his blood with a singular thought of Kill Kill Kill banging on your skull you didn't even notice you were bleeding.
Like a proper animal. Like something you've been trying to prove you're not.
"I'm-" You swallow, though cleaned, you can still taste the blood of the enemy whose throat you'd torn out, your teeth still stained red. "-sorry. I'm sorry."
"'I'm sorry' he says, is'at the best you've got?" Price presses on, coming closer and bracing a hand on your chest, his limb vibrating from your purr. It's hard to stay mad at you when you're doing this, his omega wanting nothing more but curl next to you, to share warmth and protect you while you recover. "What was going through your thick skull? Wait, let me guess: Nothing." Still he persists, not showing what he's feeling.
You hang your shoulders low and head lower still, chewing on your lip as you listen him chew you out. Something sits heavy in your chest, growing bigger with every word he says like a snowball, his anger leaving your alpha —dumb creature that it is— confused and hurt; why is your omega angry, when you protected him? When you nearly died for him? When you love him—
“Well, I’m sorry I fell in love with you, okay?" You snap, rough and angry, your gaze fixed on his. You stop purring, leaving the room too cold and silent without it. "But it happened and I can’t do shit about it.”
“You… What?”
You flinch and suck in a breath as pain flares across your body. You expected a lot of different responses, from anger to indifference to being told you're out of the taskforce. . . not that.
"Lad." Price's voice is unnervingly calm, one hand on your scruff, the other holding your chin, the sudden contact of his skin on yours fooling your alpha into letting him tilt your head to meet his eyes. "Repeat that. Slowly."
You gaze into his eyes, so many things swirling in the blue yet you're unable to tell any of it. Slowly you breathe in, "I. . . I love you." You say, open and honest and too vulnerable for an old omega like him.
". . .oh, you stupid alpha." Price almost laughs, dimples around his mouth as he smiles. Like puzzle pieces something clicks in his head.
Before his words can feel like a slap to your face he leans in, your foreheads bonking together before you find the right angle for his lips to meet yours. He tastes like his cigars and black coffee and everything you thought he would, your body melting into his, your nose full of his scent, your brain full of him.
"Could have told me without nearly dying." You separate to catch your breaths, foreheads resting against each other, breathing the same air and only now do you notice Price is purring. It's not the same bone rattling purr alphas can produce, but just as soothing, and you can't help but giggle when your own purr causes his to become louder.
You think, maybe, everything will be alright—
"After you get better." He whispers against your lips, soft and sweet, saccharine pine scent sticking to your nose like amber. "You and I will have a long talk about safety."
Maybe not.

Wearing His Jersey To a Game: Koushi Sugawara
Fandom: Haikyuu
Pairing: Sugawara x reader
Summary: Cute HC's and one shot on wearing Suga's jersey to a game
Masterlist
So you had asked Suga if he had wanted to hang out and study for a bit before his game the next day
While you were “studying” at his house and you secretly swiped his spare jersey from his room since he’s already packed his main one
You let his mom know you had it just in case but you did not let Suga see since it was going to be part of a surprise for him
Which wasss……….
That you were gonna be at the game the next day!!
Wearing his number!!
Supporting him when he needs it
When Suga went up to serve you started cheering for him
He saw you wearing the Number 2 jersey with a large #2 written right on your cheek too!
After that his serve and playing for the rest of the game had improved significantly!
Obv due to you being there for him!
“You’ve got this Koushi!!!” Sugawara heard a voice yell from the stands, He immediately knew who the voice was. As he started preparing to serve he took a quick glance to the stands where he was quickly able to find you clad in an Orange and Black Karasuno jersey that had the number 2 on it, his number! He also noticed that you even sported a #2 on your cheek. Suga’s mood and confidence were immediately boosted as he grinned at you before quickly turning his focus back to the game in front of him and his serve. Which went perfectly leaving Karasuno one more point closer to winning the game.
Karasuno won the game with flying colors winning both the first set and the second set one directly after. As soon as the game finished up you ran down to the team to congratulate Suga on his win. “Y/N!!” Suga yelled seeing you coming towards him and he ran towards you engulfing you in a big sweaty hug. “You actually were able to come,” Suga said as he looked at you and took your looks in. Taking in you wearing a jersey of his and the large 2 on your cheek.
“Of course I was Koushi, You guys were amazing today!” you gushed at him smiling from ear to ear.
“Nice one Sugawara-senpai, giving her your jersey to wear for the game. Man, I wish I had a girlfriend who would do that for me.” Nishinoya said and came over to the two of you with Tanaka in tow.
“Actually, Y/N how did you get my jersey since I didn't know you were coming to my game today?” Suga asked you, confused as to how you had his spare jersey.
“I may have swiped it from your room last night while we were hanging out, after you had packed so I took the right jersey, Sorry for not telling you I took it, I was making it a surprise for you,” you said to Suga hoping that he wasn’t upset with you though you knew that likely he’d never be upset at you for this.
“No, no worries Y/N, I loved the surprise so don’t worry about it!!” Suga said, he reassured you, then gave you another hug. He leaned over to give you a sweet kiss on your cheek, which held a number 2 on it in Black and orange, his number. Both you and him knew from that moment on that you were his biggest #1 fan forever.

Second Chance | Chapter 4 - Strangers Now
Series masterlist
You missed drawing the string back to your face and seeing the arrow hit the yellow centre; what you didn’t miss was having to wake up at 5 am in the morning to travel to school and set up the boards. You remember selling your bow immediately after graduating, there’s no time to shoot, and places to shoot aren’t as common as a basketball court or football field. You took an arrow from the quiver and loaded it once more before releasing your breath with it. Once you saw the arrow hitting the centre, you placed your bow down.
Clint stared at your grouping from next to you. “You’ve improved over the week.” He clapped in shock before nudging your side. “Tell me, who is the new coach you got outside?”
Clint was the captain of the Archery team, and he often coached new members up to a certain standard before the actual coach came in. Thanks to his teaching, you learnt a lot more about Archery. You never knew that to shoot competitively, you’d have to own so much equipment. He was kind enough to teach you what each of them is for when other members approach you for certain things since you were the logistics director. Truthfully, you only took up this role because you wanted to be able to put something in your resume.
“So, what did you and Nat talk about?” Clint asked as you were pulling your arrow out of the board.
“What? We didn’t talk at all.”
“Nat asked me where you were two days ago. Did you guys miss each other?”
“I have nothing to talk to her about.” You collected all your arrows and returned to the shooting line to prepare.
“What happened? I thought you were always happy to hear anything about Nat?”
“Well, now I don’t. Is there a problem?” You glared at him. “I’m shooting now. Could you not bother me?” Clint was shocked at your words. You were usually so non-confrontational and soft, never daring to say no to others.
“Did Nat make you angry?”
Just then, an evil plan hatched in your head. “Why don’t you ask her?”
After you were done with training, you lugged your heavy backpack and waited for Andrew. He was bringing you on a date to a cafe nearby within walking distance, but when he heard you were going for training, he offered to bring his car along so you didn’t have to carry the heavy backpack.
After the party, Andrew started texting you, and he revealed that he was in the same Management Accounting class as you. He was sitting behind you all along, and you didn’t really notice him because you were always on your phone once you found your seat until the class started. Camellia and Diana were always the ones who did the interacting while you sat there like a loner.
When you saw his notification from your home screen, you immediately went to text Camellia. You were freaking out that someone actually asked you on a date. After not being in the dating game for so long, you kinda lost touch with what you’re supposed to do. In actual fact, Camellia had no experience in dating as well, so she was worse than you. But she’s the one you would rely on to cheer you on. You had other friends throughout middle and high school, but she was the only one you opened up to within a year. She took care of you and showed you many things that opened your world. You had her to thank for making you more confident in trying new things.
“Hi, sorry for making you wait. I was a bit nervous, so I left the dorm late.” Andrew helped me put my back in the trunk before opening the passenger side door for me.
“That makes both of us.” You all started chuckling before making a move. He turned on the radio, and Taylor Swift happened to be playing. You learned that he had been to a Taylor Swift concert and admitted there was explosive energy all around. Seeing people’s Instagram videos of concerts made you dream of attending some sort of concert and experiencing it yourself, but you were too shy to go alone, and all your friends have different tastes from you.
“We should go together one day.” He said.
“What?” You asked, confused.
“To a concert. Whichever one you want. From your question, I can tell that you’ve never been to one. Do you want to go?” You nodded your head and smiled. You’ll take this chance to experience all the things you never did.
“We’re here.” He parked the car by the roadside before entering the cafe. It has a very vintage decor inside and a clear theme of typewriter here. “Apparently, we can use the typewriter here too. I can ask the owner for the papers.”
He found a place to sit, and you looked through the menu for something to eat before settling for some aglio olio. You continued the conversation from earlier, and he was really relaxing to be with.
===
After learning what you said to Clint, Nat was furious that you decided to taunt her despite being in this situation. Clint was none the wiser and continued asking for answers about what happened between you two that Natasha couldn’t provide. The sudden switch between you and Nat has left him very confused. He didn’t know you two had gotten close enough to hate each other. He was about to get a headache from watching the two of you interacting with him as a messenger.
Thanks to Clint, she knows where you’re headed, and after much searching like a mad woman looking through the windows of all the cafes nearby, she finally found you chatting with Andrew. Rage filled her eyes when she saw you so happy with him.
She opened the door harshly, and the windchime alerted everyone inside of her arrival. You watched her storm closer and didn’t get to say anything as she pulled your arm. “Get up!” She was stronger than you and was making her way out with you as fast as she came in.
“Hey! What are you doing?” Andrew rushed out behind you after seeing you getting dragged out by Natasha. “Let her go!”
“This is between me and her, you don’t interrupt.” Natasha glared at Andrew, who was grabbing her wrist. “Let go while I’m asking nicely.”
“No! You’re the one that is forcefully taking away my date.” Andrew didn’t heed her advice, and she expertly flipped him onto the ground while still having one arm on you. He didn’t know that Natasha had a black belt in Judo and Taekwondo.
“Natasha, stop it! Andrew, Andrew, it’s okay. I’ll come and find you later.” You tried to prevent the situation from getting worse than it is. Natasha pulled you away when you tried to check that he was alright. She dragged you quite a few streets down, and you were sick of her leading the way without telling you anything. She always thought that whatever she said goes because she was earning more between you two. “Enough!” You released your hands from her grip. “Just say what you want and get over it!” Your shouting has caused people around to look at the commotion.
“Why did you tell Clint to find me for answers?”
“I don’t know what kind of story to tell him, so I figured you could do the talking.” You shrugged your shoulders. “You always make the decision.”
“I do not!” She insisted.
“So then, why did you drag me away from Andrew? Couldn’t you find me another time?” You argued and pointed to the street where you were dragged from.
“Don’t change the subject! What do you expect me to tell Clint?”
“I don’t know! Anything! That we don’t see eye to eye?“ You snapped. You were getting more frustrated talking to her. “I’m trying to live my life here without you. Stop bothering me, and don’t look for me. We are just strangers.” You told her with conviction and left her there to deal with everything.
After texting Andrew, you realised he was still waiting at the cafe and picked up your pace a little. You couldn’t be more apologetic when you arrived for causing such trouble and embarrassment for him.
“It’s okay.” He shook his head. “I have to ask, though, who is she?” He was surprisingly understanding.
“She just, she used to be a friend.” You struggled to come up with an answer. “Let me pay for the food. That’s the least I can do to repay you.”
“No, it’s alright. I brought you here today, so I’ll pay. But I guess I’ll allow you to pay for the next one.”
“That’s a promise.”

Crossing Enemy Lines
Chapter Two
Luke Hughes x Original Character
Warnings: Cussing
A/N This chapter was updated on 04/11 to replace the photo and then improve the text. The story line remains there's just a few minor adds.
November 11th, 2023
The mid-morning sun filters through the curtains in Luke’s room, casting a gentle glow across his face, as he slowly stirs awake.
His eyes flutter open and he immediately feels the dull throb of a slight headache.
With a groan, Luke rolls over and buries his face into the soft pillow. He silently thanks the hockey gods that his coach-even if it was done reluctantly-gave the team the day off, allowing him to nurse his minor hangover in peace.
Fumbling around on the nightstand, his long fingers finally find his phone. He squints at the screen, taking a moment to adjust to the brightness as he swipes through his notifications.
A text from his brother Quinn catches his eye: Tough game last night bud.
Luke sighs, remembering the bitter taste of defeat, his team suffered last night at the hands of their fucking rivals the Rangers.
He makes a mental note to call Quinn later, and check in on how his game went, knowing the Vancouver Canucks played the reigning cup champs last night, but having no clue how it went.
The next message is from his mom: Hi sweetie, Dad and I are so excited to see you and Jacky this weekend! How’s everything going?
A small smile tugs at the corner of his mouth, as he types out a response to his mom indicating his excitement to see her too, before hitting send and returning to check the rest of his notifications.
As he scrolls a text from an unknown number appears on his screen: Hey it’s Jordan. I had a great time tonight, let’s do it again :)
Luke’s heart skips a beat as he reads through the message, and a flutter of excitement courses through his veins. Memories of the previous night flood his mind-the laughter, the easy conversation and the undeniable spark he felt between him and Jordan. His smile widens as he types out the response: I’d like that.
Just as he hits the send button, the door to his room swings open and Jack strolls in, uninvited of course-a habit Luke has had to become reacquainted with since joining the Devils, and moving in with Jack.
“What’s got you smiling so early in the morning?” Jack asks, his voice equal parts teasing and curious.
Luke quickly locks his phone, trying to play it cool “Don’t worry about it,” he mumbles
But Jack, ever the perceptive older brother, narrows his eyes and in one swift motion snatches the phone from Luke’s grasp, ignoring his younger brother’s protests, as he types in his password.
“Lets see what we have here” he says, a mischievous glint in his eye as he reads the text from Jordan “Ah is this the girl from last night?”
Luke swiftly stands up and lunges towards Jack trying to grab his phone, but Jack holds him at arm's length.
“Fine, yes, now give me back my phone” Luke grumbles, his cheeks flushing with a mixture of embarrassment and annoyance.
“Not so fast,” Jack grins, his eyes still glued to the screen “You like her, don’t you?”
Luke hesitates, his mind racing. He likes Jordan, he likes Jordan a lot. There’s something about her-about her laugh, about her smile, about her energy, the way she carries herself. As he ponders for a response, his phone beeps, signaling a new message.
“She’s asking when you’re free” Jack informs him, his eyes scanning the screen.
“Today?” Jack says, his fingers flying across the keyboard, to type out the very question he said aloud.
“Wait. Jack don’t-” Luke tries to warn, but it’s too late. Jack hits send, a triumphant grin on his face.
Luke finally manages to snatch his phone back, his heart pounding as he stares at the screen.
Three little dots appear, then disappear, and for a moment Luke forgets how to breathe.
Then, a white bubble pops up, with a single word that sends his pulse racing: Sure.
Jack leans over Luke’s shoulder, a smirk playing on his lips “You’re welcome” he says his tone equal parts smug and supportive.
Luke playfully shoves Jack away, a genuine smile spreading across his face “Get out” he laughs, guiding his brother towards the door.
As the door clicks shut behind Jack, Luke leans against it, his eyes fixated on his phone, as his smile widens.
He quickly types out a message, asking where they should meet, and Jordan’s response comes almost immediately suggesting a cafe in New York City.
Luke responds: Sounds good. How’s 1pm?
Jordan replies: Works for me! I’ll send you the address. See you soon.
With a grin Luke types out Looking forward to it, and sets his phone down, a flutter of anticipation rises in his chest as he thinks about seeing her again.
He takes a deep breath, then pushes off the door, making his way to the bathroom, to start getting ready.
*****
Luke’s breath forms a cloud in the crisp New York air as he pushes open the door to the quaint cafe nestled on the corner of a bustling street.
His heart races with anticipation as he scans the room for Jordan.
He spots her at a table, her face lighting up with a smile, as she waves him over.
“Hey” Luke greets her sliding into the seat across from her
“Hi,” Jordan replies, her eyes sparkling.
They order their drinks- an ice tea for Luke and a matcha latte for Jordan, before easily falling into a conversation.
“Oh before I forget,” Jordan says, reaching into her bag. She pulls out a well-worn paperback and hands it to Luke. “You asked me to recommend something for you and uh this is one of my all time favorites” She explains
Luke smiles, turning the book over in his hand, and looks at the title The Great Gatsby
“Thank you Jordan, that was really kind” Luke expresses
“Well, you did promise me you’d actually read it” Jordan teases her eyes twinkling with mirth.
Luke chuckles setting the book down on the table, “I’ll dive into it as soon as I can”
They continue chatting, swapping stories and laughing at each other's jokes. They delve into various topics from their favorite movies, to their most embarrassing childhood memories.
"...and then I tripped, face-first into the cake," Jordan recounts, laughing at the memory. "My mom was horrified, but my brother couldn't stop laughing."
Luke chuckles, imagining a young Jordan covered in frosting. "Siblings, they never let you live anything down, do they?"
“Definitely not, do you have siblings?”
“Ya I uh, I got two older brothers” Luke tells
“Baby of the family?” Jordan teases.
“Something like that” He jokes
“Don’t worry I’m the baby of mine too” She says, eliciting a laugh from Luke.
They continue their conversation, shifting the topic to their favorite places.
At one point their hands brush against one anothers on the table sending a jolt of electricity through both their bodies. Luke looks up, his eyes meeting Jordan’s, and for a moment the rest of the world fades away.
They lean in, drawn to each other like magnets. Luke’s heart races as he inches closer, his gaze dropping to Jordan’s lips.
And just as they're on the brink of sharing what would most likely be a magical kiss, the loud buzzing sound of a notification on Luke’s phone startles them both.
Instinctively, he turns the phone face up, his brightness fully illuminated, and as he clears the random alert, his lock screen comes into view-a picture of him in his New Jersey Devils uniform, standing proudly on the ice.
Jordan’s eyes widen as she catches a glimpse of the image, and her heart skips a beat.
Luke notices her reaction and realizes his mistake.
"Alright, um, I guess you kinda caught me," he admits sheepishly. "I'm not a student. I, uh, I play in the NHL."
Jordan is silent for a moment, processing this newfound information. Luke laughs nervously, trying to lighten the mood. "You know, most girls think it's pretty cool. Did you have a terrible experience with a hockey player or something? Promise not all of us are the same."
Jordan hesitates before speaking. "You play for the Devils?"
"Yeah," Luke confirms, studying her reaction.
"Don't tell me you hate hockey?" He somewhat jokes, hoping to god and beyond her answer isn't yes cus that's the biggest deal breaker in the world.
Jordan hesitates, her expression unreadable. "No I um, I don't hate. My, uh, my brother plays," she reveals, her voice soft.
Luke's brows furrowed in confusion. "Oh, cool. In the NHL?"
"Yeah," Jordan sighs.
"Who's your brother?" Luke asks, curiosity getting the better of him.
"Jacob Trouba."
Luke's jaw drops, his eyes widening in shock. "Your brother is Jacob Trouba?!" he exclaims, a hint of anger creeping into his voice.
"Guilty," Jordan half-jokes, trying to diffuse the tension.
Luke runs his hands through his hair, muttering under his breath, "What the fuck."
Jordan bristles at his reaction. "Hey, it doesn't really change anything."
"Are you kidding me?" Luke scoffs, his frustration mounting.
"What?" Jordan challenges, her own irritation rising to the surface.
"Your brother is the captain of the Rangers, and I'm a Devil," Luke points out, as if it should be obvious.
Jordan laughs, but there's an edge to it. "So?"
"So? What do you mean, 'so'?" Luke asks incredulously.
"What does it change?" Jordan counters, her eyes narrowing.
"Wh-what? Everything!" Luke sputters. "Why didn't you mention this?"
Jordan's face hardens. "Are you kidding me? I didn't mention my last name because I had no fucking clue you gave a shit about hockey. In case you forgot, you told me you were a college student. Failed to mention you're actually in the fucking NHL."
Luke tries to defend himself. "Yeah, but that's different. I didn't tell you cus I figured you be some kinda fan girl, which by the way would be a hell of a lot better than you being the sister to the captain of my biggest rival"
Jordan lets out a harsh laugh, "Rival? Oh My God! Are you serious? Do you hear how ridiculous you sound?"
"It's not ridiculous" Luke claims
Jordan scoffs "You're right it's not ridiculous, it's just fucking comical" She stands abruptly, grabbing her purse "Grow the fuck up, Luke"
With that, she turns on her heel and storms out of the cafe, leaving Luke sitting there, stunned.
The copy of The Great Gatsby still lies on the table, a painful reminder of the moment that had slipped away.
With a heavy sigh, Luke stands, tossing a few bills on the table to cover their drinks and picks up the book, scoffing at the irony of it all, as he walks towards the exit of the cafe, and steps back out onto the bustling streets of New York, a scowl plastered across his face, at the unfortunate turn of events.
*****
Luke returns to his and Jack’s apartment, his mood sour and his thoughts consumed by the disastrous end to his date with Jordan.
As he enters the living room, he finds Jack sitting on the couch, his phone propped up in front of him. The familiar voice of Quinn filters through the speaker, indicating that they're in the middle of a FaceTime call.
Jack looks up, a smirk playing on his lips. "Hey, Lukey! How'd the date go?"
"Shut up," Luke grumbles, plopping down on the couch beside Jack.
Quinn's voice chimes in, concern evident in his tone. "What's wrong, Luke?"
Luke sighs, running a hand through his hair. "Just didn't go well," he says vaguely, not wanting to delve into the details.
Jack and Quinn exchange a glance through the screen, their brotherly instincts kicking in. "Come on, man," Jack prods gently. "Talk to us."
Luke shakes his head, his gaze fixed on the floor. "It's not gonna work out, that's all."
"Why not?" Quinn asks, his brow furrowed.
"Just... not going to," Luke responds, his tone indicating that he doesn't want to discuss it further.
Jack and Quinn sense Luke's reluctance and decide not to push the matter. "Alright, bud," Quinn says, his voice sympathetic. "I'm sorry, but maybe things will still work out?"
"Not gonna happen" Luke mumbles, anger creeping into his voice.
Jack leans back on the couch, trying to lighten the mood. "It's probably for the best, come on, man. You don't gotta be hung up on some random girl when we're trying to win a Cup."
Luke nods, forcing a small smile. "Yeah." He stands up, stretching his arms above his head. "I'm gonna go lay down for a bit."
"Okay," Jack says, understanding in his eyes. "We'll be here if you need us."
Luke makes his way to his room, and decides to take a shower, hoping the hot water will help clear his head.
As the steam fills the bathroom, Luke's internal monologue takes over. He knows he doesn't need to be in a relationship, but the idea of having someone by his side isn't entirely unappealing.
His thoughts drift to his past relationships, or lack thereof. It seems like everyone around him has someone - Quinn with his girlfriend, Jack with his rotating roster of dates. But for Luke, finding a genuine connection has always been a struggle.
The last real relationship he had was back at Michigan, and even that ended in heartbreak when he discovered the girl was only using him for his family name. But now, with Jordan, he thought he'd finally found something real, something special and the fucking irony that for once it wasn’t his last name that ruined something, it’s stupid, it’s fucking stupid.
As he steps out of the shower and changes into comfortable clothes, Luke can't shake the feeling of loneliness that settles in his chest. He lies in bed, scrolling aimlessly through his phone, trying to distract himself from the ache in his heart.
It doesn’t work, he tosses his phone to the side, staring at the paperback book he threw on his nightstand.
Suddenly, his phone buzzes with a notification. For a brief, hopeful moment, he thinks it might be Jordan, reaching out to apologize or explain. But instead, it's a message in the Devils' group chat,
Reminder practice tomorrow 9 AM.
Luke groans, his disappointment palpable as he tosses his phone onto the nightstand and buries his head in his pillow.

Art by Timeless
Shadows Within
Sterek || E || 37k wc
After making a deal with the Nogitsune, Stiles gained control of its powers. When an enemy comes, determined to end the Beacon Hills Nogitsune no matter the consequences, Derek gets kidnapped and hurt, and Stiles’ possessiveness comes out.
The gorgeous artwork is by Timeless. It was very inspirational!
This is by far the longest finished fic I have ever written, and I still can't believe I actually managed it.
Thank you to everyone that helped me get this done and out there into the world! You know who you are!
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Stiles adjusted the grip on his stick and scuffed his cleats in the grass as he briefly closed his eyes to take a bracing breath.
After he had turned the tides of the championship game last season, causing BHHS to win, this was what he wanted. Scott had worked with Stiles on and off over the summer between sophomore and junior years to help him improve enough, so they could be co-captains together. With Jackson’s parents’ pulling him out and moving to London, that dream seemed even closer.
Then, the insanity of the fall semester happened, and any thoughts of lacrosse flew from his mind.
That is until the announcements for tryouts came out.
Thankfully, Scott had brought his grades up enough that Coach was letting him back. Maybe. Everyone had to try-out again. One would think that everyone that played on a championship winning team would automatically be back on the team the next year, but noooo–Coach had a wild hair up his ass and decided that’s not good enough and that they needed a “rebuilding season”.
To be fair, Jackson wasn’t the only one of their teammates whose parents decided to take them out of Beacon Hills. Probably because of all the murders, if Stiles was being honest. Even Danny was gone, which was unfortunate because Stiles could tolerate Danny.
This little shit that was standing, unwanted, in front of the goal on the other hand…
Opening his eyes, Stiles stepped into his shot, launching the ball towards the goal faster than he ever had before, passing the goalie’s stick by a hair and landing in the net.
The crowd on the sidelines erupted in cheers, but Stiles barely registered them.
“YES!! Another perfect shot! Way to go, Stilinski!” Coach Finstock yelled, snapping Stiles back to reality. “Stilinski, you’ve been holding out on us!”
Stiles jogged to the back of the line, making his way to the back. His eyes flickered to where Scott stood at the end. He was watching Stiles with a mix of admiration and unease.
“Dude, you’re doing, like, really good,” Scott said as Stiles neared him, eyebrows pinched a bit.
“Yeah,” Stiles muttered, as they turned to watch Isaac take his turn. “Thanks.”
They both leaned to look around the guys in front of them to watch Isaac shoot. The ball almost went into the net, but the kid, Liam, caught it right at the last second. The guys around them were evenly split between groans and cheers.
Stiles whistled as Isaac made his way to them. “So, close.”
“At least I was aiming for the net,” Isaac replied, reaching out to roughly pat Scott’s shoulder, “unlike some people who just whiffed and hit the frame instead.”
Once again, the goalie caught the ball. Scott had missed a few more shots, overshooting the goal or hitting the posts instead. A couple of times, Liam even managed to intercept Scott’s attempts, flashing that smug grin of his each time. The kid’s accuracy was almost annoyingly perfect, and he seemed to be thriving on Scott’s slip-ups.
Frustrated, Scott stormed off, ripping his gloves and throwing them down as he went.
“Dude!” Stiles said urgently, as he and Isaac caught up to Scott. “What is going on with you?”
“I don’t know,” Scott grumbled. “I’m having a really off day.”
“Off day? You are dying out there,” Isaac snorted. “Like, I’m feeling actual physical pain watching you.”
“I wish,” Stiles muttered.
“Yeah, like you need to be any stronger,” Isaac muttered back, immediately understanding what Stiles was getting at. “This is already weird as it is. I mean, you’ve been doing better than both me and Scott.”
“That’s because Stiles is new to his powers. Whereas, we’re not using our abilities out on the field,” Scott said. “On the field, we’re just as human as anyone else.”
“No, you’re really not,” Stiles pointed out, getting annoyed. “You’re a werewolf–complete with the strength, speed, and reflexes. It’s the whole reason you were able to even get off the bench last year, remember?”
“Yeah, but I’m trying to do better. Be better. I’m trying to make it fair for everyone, so I’m avoiding using my powers.”
“Well, in case you’ve forgotten,” Stiles said incensed, “Finstock doesn’t know or care if you are an Alpha werewolf. He just sees someone who’s not at the level they were last year. You might want to use some of your wolfie powers or you very well might lose your position as team captain. Are you prepared for that?”
“But…that’s cheating.”
“Technically, it’s not. There’s nothing in the rules about supernaturals playing on the team.”
“No, but that doesn’t stop it from being an unfair advantage.”
“Scott, the only way to completely prevent yourself from having an unfair advantage on the field would be to just not play,” Stiles said, getting closer to the edge of his temper at Scott just not understanding. “Your advantage doesn’t just come from using the obvious powers. Your very senses are heightened in a way that a human’s literally can’t. There is absolutely no way for you to play as a human, especially now that you’re an Alpha.”

Can Anybody See Me? Part 7
And here we get to my little headcanon about Gareth. I saw a gif of Nancy talking to a kid with a camera at the game in season 4 and thought it was Gareth. But Gareth is shorter with darker curls. So meet Gethin, Gareth’s taller fraternal twin.
On the tagging, I HAVE REACHED MY HARD AND FAST LIMIT OF 50. I love the response this story has gotten. I do. I love you all. I love every reply, like, and reblog. It brings me so much joy, you don’t even know. But tagging is hard for my ADHD brain. I have gone up from 20 to 30 and finally 50 as my system improved but I think if I do any more than that I’ll go insane. So any future tagging requests will be ignored. Sorry.
The best way to keep update on these stories is follow me and set me on notifications. I rarely do a lot of reblogging these days (too busy churning out stories like whoa), so more often then not a post will be a story. I try to post at least once a day (some times twice if I’m trying to rush through the posting a bit like I did to make sure the Valentine fic got out in time without making people wait on Vamp!Eddie), just never at set time.
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6
*
Steve was the last one to arrive.
Again.
But at least this time he wasn’t late. Just last. Fucking story of his life. Thankfully all four of them were waiting in the open garage. He could see Gareth’s drum kit in the corner, but none of the other guys brought their instruments.
“You found the place okay?” Jeff asked.
“Took a wrong turn somewhere, I guess,” Steve groused. “But I finally got back on track.”
“Come on in,” Gareth said. “My mom made homemade hot chocolate and sugar cookies.”
Steve lit up. “Sounds great.” He poured himself some hot chocolate and a couple of cookies, shoving one into his mouth immediately.
“So how we do this,” Jeff explained. “Everyone hands out their presents and then one person at a time opens all of theirs at once.”
“And since this is your first time,” Gareth said, “you’ll get to go first.”
Steve blushed. “Thanks guys.” He frowned suddenly realizing something. “Wait...how did you guys know what to get me?”
All four boys just grinned at him. “Well, that’s not creepy at all.”
“You’ll figure it out,” Eddie said, patting him on the shoulder.
Steve opened his gifts and since the point was to be outrageous, he laughed when he pulled out a pair of Speedo’s. “Do I even want to know which of you guys got this for me?”
Brian shook his head. “It’s better if you don’t know, man. Forbidden knowledge that.”
Steve nodded. The last thing was one of those auto-signature pictures of the 1984 Olympic gold medal swimming relay team. He looked up at Eddie, somehow knowing it was from him.
“Thanks, man. I love it.” At Gareth’s questioning look he explained. “I’m on the relay team at school. It was so fun watching this. They even had the Olympic trails right here in Indy.”
“Wow,” Jeff said. “That is cool.”
Eddie just cleared his throat and shove hair in front of his face to hide his embarrassment.
They went around the room, Gareth, Brian, Jeff and then finally Eddie.
Eddie got temporary tattoos.
“These ones are legal,” Brian teased.
A pack of guitar picks and a new DM screen. And then he got to Steve’s.
Steve squirmed in his seat, because he knew he had blown the limit. But when he saw it he knew he had to get it for the metalhead.
He opened it up to see a black leather wallet with a skull and a red lightning bolt behind it. It had a small metal ring for a chain to be clipped onto.
Eddie looked up at him with shiny eyes. “Steve...”
“I told you I was going to get you something nice for you and your uncle letting me come over and spend Christmas with you.”
“Steve wins,” Gareth said.
“Agreed,” Jeff and Brian said together.
Steve blushed. “I’m just glad everyone enjoyed their gifts.”
“You ready for some D&D?” Eddie asked trying to change the subject. Not just because he was uncomfortable, but because he had a feeling that Steve was too.
Steve nodded. “I got some pointers from Dustin and Lucas when I dropped them off. They also let me borrow some dice.”
“That’s some friends you got there, Steve-o,” Jeff said.
They led the way inside and Steve was sat between Eddie who was DMing and Gareth.
They had just gotten settled when another boy came out of the kitchen munching away on leftover ham. Steve had to blink. He looked over at Gareth and then back to the boy.
The Corroded Coffin boys grinned.
“Meet my fraternal twin, Gethin,” Gareth said, batting his eyelashes innocently.
Steve’s eyes went wide. “Holy shit, dude. I didn’t know you were a twin.”
Gethin rolled his eyes. “I’m the cooler old brother of the pair.”
“By two minutes,” Gareth said rolling his eyes.
Gethin’s eyes glittered with malice. “Still counts, nerd.”
“Go back to your camera, dweeb!”
Steve just shook his head.
“All right, let’s roll up these characters,” Eddie said rubbing his hands together and cackling gleefully.
It took a bit for Steve to get the hang of it, but he needed less and less help from Eddie or Gareth as the game went on.
They all died spectacularly.
“That was fun,” Steve said as they cleaned up.
“It’s not that bad with a campaign normally,” Brian said. “Unless specified to be a kill your darlings kind of game.”
“The point is to get your character to level twenty and beat the final boss, right?” Steve asked.
“That’s right,” Jeff said. “Sometimes we play with the club and sometimes it’s just us four having a blast. Our characters have been a party for about three years now.”
Steve let out a low whistle. “That is a long time.”
“We’ve got a paladin, that’s Jeff,” Eddie explained. “A wizard, that’s Gareth’s character. And Brian’s rogue.”
“And your druid, right?” Steve said snapping his fingers, remembering what Eddie said at the mall.
“That’s right, sweetheart.”
Steve grinned. “That’s so cool.”
“Hey, Steve,” Jeff asked. “Is okay if me and Brian get a ride home with you. Eddie lives on the other end of town and Gareth drove so...”
Steve shrugged. “Sure. Ready when you are.”
Jeff and Brian gave Eddie and Gareth hugs and then followed Steve out.
Once Steve had left Eddie turned to Gareth.
“So how did he do?”
Eddie wasn’t going to force his friends to like Steve. They didn’t have to. But he would like them to.
“He seems pretty chill,” Gareth said. “Gotta wonder if a couple of concussions changed his personality.”
Eddie nodded. This definitely wasn’t the Steve Harrington of last year. Or hell even of their experience with the guy as a whole.
“I don’t know,” he said. “I think maybe there were flashes before this.” He threw his arms in the air. “Because yeah, head injuries can cause personality changes, but I think at the fundamentals he’s still the same person he’s always been. Just now he can be himself instead of whatever Tommy H and Carol wanted him to be.”
“A funky little dork who is just trying his best?”
“Exactly,” Eddie said. “I just wonder what made him decide to give up all the popularity.”
Gareth nodded.
*
They hung out a few times with Steve and sometimes it was just Steve and Eddie.
Eddie could tell that there was something that was bothering him. Something that went deeper than feral dogs and beat downs by California transfer students.
But every time Eddie would get close, Steve would shut down. Once he got so upset he got up and left. Eddie was on the phone every day for three days trying to apologize. It took actually going to his house and threatening to beat the door down before he got through to Steve.
“Hey, don’t do that,” Eddie growled. “What if you had another concussion and no one was around to help you, dude. You could have died.”
Steve sighed. “Sorry. I can’t talk about it. Like literally, legally on pain of incarceration can’t talk about it.”
Eddie blinked. How the hell did a seventeen year old boy get mixed up in something that could get him arrested for talking about it?
“So write me a story or paint me a picture,” Eddie said. “Something, because it’s eating you alive. Is there someone you could talk to? An adult or something because fucking hell, Harrington you look like someone walked over your grave.”
Steve dug the meat of his palms into his eyes. “I know. There are a couple people I could talk to but they have so much to worry about.”
Eddie thought for a minute. “This is about Will and El isn’t it?”
Steve’s head whirled to face him, fear etched into every line of his face. “I don’t know what you mean...”
Bingo.
“A girl turns up out of no where and boy that was dead, suddenly isn’t?” Eddie said cocking his head. “Doesn’t take a genius to figure out the two are connected.”
Steve looked down at the floor. “Whatever you can imagine, just know it’s much, much worse.”
Eddie nodded. “So I’m guessing the adults are Mrs Byers and Chief Hopper?”
Steve nodded. “And the other people that know about it are all younger than me. So...”
“So tell me a story...” Eddie said. “Change the names, the details, but tell me a story. Or paint me a series of pictures. I’ve seen drawing pads all over your place, man. Just something, anything. Okay?”
Steve sighed. “Yeah, okay. I’ll try. Because you’re right. I need to release it somehow. Keeping it bottle up inside isn’t good.”
Eddie smiled. “There you go. Now go get dressed, we’re going to grab a bite to eat.”
Steve smiled softly. “Okay.”
*
After the first week of January Steve came up to him, eyes darting around him like he was nervous. So Eddie pulled him into the janitor’s closet.
“Hey, I need you take a deep breath for me,” Eddie said as Steve started to hyperventilate.
Steve struggled to obey.
“Hey, hey,” Eddie said, soothingly, rubbing his arms up and down. “Take a deep breath.” Steve managed that at least. “Good, now let it out slow.” The breath shuddered, but still it came out slow. “Now can you repeat that for me.”
“I’m in so much trouble, man,” Steve sobbed, sliding to the floor, his knees to his chest. “We have to do a comic in art class and so I thought I would do what you suggested. Make a comic out of the hell I went through. Only Miss Chen thinks that it’s too dark and wants to call my parents.”
Eddie’s eyes went wide. “Shit!” He began pacing back and forth. “Do you think your parents will come?”
Steve shrugged. “I don’t know. But I’m terrified that if they see it...”
“They’ll lock you up and throw away the key?” Eddie suggested.
He nodded.
Eddie took a deep breath. “Okay. Do you still want it or do you want it destroyed?”
Steve opened his mouth to answer, but frowned. He closed his mouth and really thought about it. “I’d like you to see it,” he said quietly.
“All right,” Eddie said. “I won’t go into details, because you need plausible deniability. But the first page of your comic isn’t going to be there tomorrow. And hopefully with it gone, Miss Chen won’t call your parents. Okay?”
Steve nodded.
Eddie opened the door to leave when Steve called out.
“Hey, Eds?”
“Yeah, Stevie?” Eddie asked, turning back to him.
“Thanks.”
Eddie smiled softly and then made his way out of the closet, giving Steve time to collect himself before he faced the hell of high school once again.
*
Eddie couldn’t be involved in the art theft either. It would be expected. So he enlisted Gethin’s help.
“And you’ll give Janice my number?” Gethin asked, eyeing him suspiciously.
Eddie threw his arms in the air. “For the last time, yes! Besides, she probably already has it as you know, your TWIN is in the same club as she is?”
“What do you get out of this?” Gethin asked.
“I’m the one that suggested it in the first place,” Eddie admitted, putting his hands on his lower back. “So it’s my job to get him out of the trouble I put him in.”
Gethin rubbed his chin thoughtfully. “Steve’s going through some pretty heavy shit, huh?”
Eddie licked his lips. “Yeah, man. I thought he could get it out safely through his art, but even though Jeff and I have turned in far worse stuff...”
“Because it’s coming from Steve, obviously he’s acting out,” Gethin supplied.
“Pretty much the whole thing in a nutshell,” Eddie said.
Gethin nodded.
“So you’ll do it?” Eddie asked.
“Yeah, I’ll do it,” he said.

ALSO I HOPE ITS GOOD I HAVEN’T WRITTEN ANYTHING IN A LONG TIME
Kageyama
You were never late to your get-togethers or dates with Kageyama, always being way too excited to talk about them a day before to even think about arriving a minute late. This time was different, this time you weren’t just a few minutes late. Kageyama had been waiting for about thirty minutes at this point at the entrance of the carnival that recently opened. Worried was an understatement, the man was practically silently panicking while looking like he was about to wet his pants from how worried he was for you. You didn’t answer his bunch of texts nor his bombardment of calls. Did something happen? Were you just kidnapped and he didn’t know about it? His thoughts were interrupted as a familiar figure appeared next to him poking his cheek.
“Sorry I’m late…” You faked a smile as you poked your boyfriend who was in a trance causing him to jolt awake and immediately hug you tightly making sure you were real and he wasn’t just hallucinating. “Yes, Tobio it’s me…” You couldn’t help the giggle escape from your lips from how silly your boyfriend was at times. Your boyfriend noticed how soft your voice was before he decided to speak up and immediately bombarded you with questions “Y/N! What took you so long? You’re never late! Did something happen? Why didn’t you answer any of my texts or calls?”
“I uhm… it’s a long story… can we just um… get inside?” You pointed at the carnival right in front of the both of you with people going inside. Kageyama noticed your face was practically frowning even if you had a smile plastered on your face, ultimately deciding not to press on further and instead lead you to the carnival still with a hint of worry.
Throughout the day Kageyama noticed how bothered you were. Sure you smiled, laughed and looked genuine when you said and acted like you had a good time but even with how dense he was he could tell the mask you were putting on. He didn’t know how to get you to talk about it, both not wanting to pester you about something you didn’t wanna talk about and not knowing how to get you to even fess up in the first place. He decided that cheering you up with the carnival activities would be the only thing he could do without doing something stupid with how naturally idiotic he could be at times.
Every game you both tried he would try extremely hard to get you a prize even if you didn’t necessarily want anything. By the time you both were done with the activities you were practically drowning in the prizes he had won for you to which he offered to carry it all for you till you eventually found plastic bags to carry them with. When you both decided to eat he decided on buying you everything you want and all of the desserts just to make you happy. You appreciated it a lot, really you did but this was definitely getting out of hand and you needed to stop this.
“Hey Tobio… thanks for all these prizes but… you didn’t have to win them all for me… I really appreciate it though” You gave him a soft smile as you ate your food while your boyfriend looked up at you and shook his head “No I wanted to win them for you, I had fun winning them anyways” Kageyama smiled back at you as he went back to eating his food. His eyes were looking away from you before he took a sigh and decided he didn’t want to beat around the bush anymore “Well you also looked sad… I didn’t wanna be pushy so um… I wanted to cheer you up on this day… Y/N I can’t stand it when you're sad… please can you tell me what’s wrong?”
“I-I… you know… I-I didn’t make it in the team… you tried so hard and helped me practice… I’m sorry…” your voice slightly cracked as you spoke, holding in the sobs from coming out by taking a deep breath and looking down. Kageyama immediately pulled you in for a tight hug letting you rest your head to his chest before he spoke “Hey, it’s okay… Y/N… I know you really wanted to get into the team but… you still got a lot of chances to try out… we’re still juniors after all… Don’t let this bother you or bring you down okay?” Kageyama grabbed one of the stuffed animals he had gotten as a prize and placed it in your arms before smiling at you “C’mon, cheer up… I’ll go win you more prizes, there was a really good panda stuffie earlier” you shook your head as you started to smile again making his heart swell “You don’t have to Tobio I think my room’s gonna be full of these things…” you both chuckled before you grabbed the stuffie and pulled it close to your chest and smiled happily “Hey, as long as I see that cute smile… I’ll win everything from the carnival if I have to.”
Oikawa
“If you aren’t going to play properly you should sit this one out” Iwaizumi sighed in annoyance trying to hold back his want to lash out at the captain. Oikawa seemed out of it, unable to set properly, his hand usually kept slipping on the ball which annoyed the team.
“Let’s call a time-out, Crappykawa is totally out of it” Iwaizumi sighed before Matsun went over and flicked the chestnut haired captain’s head to bring him back to reality.
“Huh? Where are you all–” Oikawa blinked before Iwaizumi interrupted him with a sigh and an annoyed tone to his voice.
“You can’t focus so we’re taking a break” Iwaizumi sat down grabbing his bottle of water and taking a large gulp before looking back again at Oikawa with a more sympathetic expression “You’re worried about Y/N right?”
“I uh…” Oikawa scratched the back of his head before the other third years sighed with Makki speaking up first “Look we know you’re worried about their tryouts right? Chill, Y/N’s skilled, they'll be able to do it.”
The other third years nodded in agreement, you were quite skilled so they were pretty sure that you’d make it to the varsity team. Oikawa was confident in your skills too, but he didn’t know why he felt some sort of uncertainty and nervousness.
“You guys are right… I just… I don’t know why I feel so nervous… it’s weird…” Oikawa sighed in frustration, his hands now on the temple of his head making the other third year pat his back. “We get that, you love them way too much and you want every chance to see them succeed right?” Matsun looked at the stressed captain and patted his back to reassure him. Oikawa nodded to his statement, he loved you way too much and he’d travel the whole world to see your precious smile and the third years knew this, it was cute yet pretty annoying at times. “You guys are right… I shouldn’t be worried… They’ll make–” Oikawa smiled confidently, switching back to his usual personality before they all heard the knock from the gym door with you walking in with your head down. “Y/N! I missed you! Yes, even if we’ve only been one class away from each other!” The others sighed watching Oikawa practically dashing towards you and hugging you tightly almost instantly before you tried smiling and patting his back. “Heya Y/N!” Makki called out with his usual smile doing a hand motion to call both of you to sit down next to them. However seeing how down you looked it caused the smiles of both the third years and your boyfriend to fade. “Something wrong? If you find that your crappy boyfriend is annoying you right now I’ll go kick his ass right now” Iwaizumi joked trying to cheer you up while causing the two third years burst out in laughter while your boyfriend pouted in annoyance. Their laughter soon stopped when you tried speaking up but having to stop yourself with your eyes starting to glisten with tears. Oikawa immediately noticed this, holding you tight with his hands on your cheeks trying to comfort you “Hey hey… I’m here, what’s wrong?”
You looked up to your boyfriend trying to swallow the sobs from escaping your throat before you finally were able to speak up “I-I… um… I-I didn’t make it…”
Hearing this caused all the other third years to look at you with sympathetic looks while your boyfriend hugged you as tight as he could, straddling you on his lap to comfort you as much as he could. “I know how much you wanted to get into the team…” Oikawa wiped away the tears that fell from your cheeks as you tried to calm down sniffling softly as quiet sobs escaped your lips. “I-I’m sorry… I wasn’t g-good e-enough… y-you worked h-hard in h-helping me a-and–” You tried apologizing but Oikawa immediately shut you up by tightening his hug and interrupting you. “Don’t say that Y/N… you are good okay? Not making it in doesn’t matter to me… It doesn’t mean anything either. I believe in your skills…” Oikawa kissed your forehead to comfort you and smiled in a reassuring manner. “And to be honest, I’d help you any day any time cause playing my favorite sport with you is more than enough to make me happy” The other third years nodded to Oikawa’s statements, each of them with their own snarky comments.
“Yeah the idiot is right, you have killer spikes you know? And you aren’t a pain in the ass to teach” Iwaizumi gave you a soft yet reassuring smile while giving a small side eye to his best friend. “Yeah! Why’d you think we let you play with us while we practice? You’re pretty good to be keeping up with us. Hell if we could we’d replace your idiot boyfriend for you!” Makki snickered, and patted your back and nodded to what Iwaizumi said before adding the snarky comment at the end, making your boyfriend glare and smack him. Matsun chuckled before getting in between them to prevent your boyfriend from acting up again. “Your whiny boyfriend is right, we all have fun playing with you, it’s not just him that gets really happy playing with you.” Oikawa sighed at his comment before nodding in agreement as his pout shifted into his usual smirk that you loved. “T-Thanks… you guys really know how to cheer me up…” You say chuckling with all the snarky comments your friends usually made to your boyfriend before you felt Oikawa wipe away the rest of your tears. “Of course! We’re always here for you, you’re just too amazing” Oikawa started his usual smug praise of you making the others sigh with amusement while you laughed at their annoyance.
“Why don’t you help us practice? I know you didn’t make it but hey I know how much love playing with us” The others looked at you with expecting glances knowing how you won’t decline. Before you could even speak Makki pulled you away from your boyfriend “We know you won’t say no so let’s go!” this left your boyfriend seething with anger that his friend had taken you away “Hey!!! Makki give them back! They’re mine not yours!”
Matsun and Iwaizumi sighed before chuckling in amusement at watching the two at it again “Just make it fast Tooru! I wanna play!” You say playfully before grabbing a ball and passing it to your boyfriend. “Yeah get a move on boyfriend!” Matsun teased as both him and Iwaizumi walked to the court as Matsun slapped the captain’s back before chuckling snarkily. “You better play well, or I’ll kick your ass again” Iwaizumi glared seriously as all of them waited for the captain which had an annoyed pout although it shifted to a smile seeing you laugh and turn happy again “Yeah yeah whatever… I can’t fail my team now can I? I know you all need me that much after all” Oikawa’s snarky remark caused the other third years to groan at his ego but it seemed to make you laugh which made Oikawa smile even more smugly like he always did.

M!Kylar x F!Reader - Gaming (Part 1)
You and Kylar meet through League. Two dorks in love. Fluff. I could make it into GN!Reader but I need the reader to be female for the next part, so yeah. There's not much League things, it's more like a plot device. So anyone can read it, even if you don't play league I made it pretty vague on purpose. As always, love y'all!
No trigger warnings, unless you count in League. Kylar is Kylar. Yeah.
2.1k Words. Not including headcanons.
As your game came to an end, the bold letters flashed on the screen. Although the game wasn’t won, you still had a lot of fun. Especially since your support was good, and it seemed like the both of you had a good synergy.
It was no surprise that you sent them a friend request and an invite to your next game, hoping to play some more with them. A feeling of joy rose up in your stomach as they accepted both invitations, their preferred lane positions already picked and ready. You were already ready to start the next game as well.
As you started up the queue, you asked them the basics, getting to know them better. If your synergy together was as good as you suspected, you definitely wanted to play more with them. And you for sure wanted to keep them around if that was the case! Making new friends in-game was fun, after all.
Music played on Spotify as your anonymous support was answering your questions. The answers were short and curt, giving your duo an aura of mystery around them. However, in the end you found out a few things about your lane partner.
First off, they were a man, and his name was Kylar. He was also around the same age as you, he even studies computer science! Although his answers were short, his questions about you were plentiful. You answered most of them without a second thought, as long as they weren’t questions about your exact location. However, you didn’t mind giving him a vague answer, like which major city you live close to.
You also made sure to cheer him up through the messages as best as you could when something didn’t work out on bot lane. His Nami was on point, he was actively using his ability to slow down the enemy, only to follow up with a bubble that would stun them, thus giving you a kill. But sometimes, things didn’t work out the way they were supposed to, all thanks to random visits from the enemy, which would catch both of you off guard.
But you made sure to calm him down each time, giving sweet words of encouragement, effectively bringing him back to his composed state almost immediately, or at least, it looked that way after you saw his playstyle improve. You also made sure to praise him each time he did something good. Although you weren’t sure if it had any impact on him because of the lack of voice chat, you still hoped you made his day, since he kept writing back “Thank you.” each time you gave him a compliment.
Unbeknownst to you, Kylar was a melting mess behind his computer screen after each time you have him a compliment. You were so nice and so easy to talk to! Not to mention, you were really good at the game. And you knew what to say to him to make him calm down. It’s like it was fate for both of you to meet!
Oh, how much fun does he have playing with you. He was actually the first one to ask you to play with him next day, too. Kylar spent the whole day being online as soon as he woke up, since he didn’t want to miss you and he really, really wanted to spend more time with you. He has made sure to give you lots of compliments as well that day.
Hiding behind the screen gave him the anonymity, hence making him more courageous. You appeared slightly later than usual, which made him worry as he started to overthink as to why you could be late by two hours compared to your usual time. So, it’s no wonder he went ahead and asked subtly, disguised under the pretext of asking how your day was.
Oh, so you had to do some grocery runs and buy a few things! Oh, it’s getting colder, and you bought some sweaters, as well! He was sure you looked so good in the virgin killer you bought. Kylar is so sure you bought it for a potential meeting with him, his Darling dressing up all nice and pretty just for him.
Although he didn’t know how you looked like yet, he was sure you were just the most beautiful Goddess on earth. It’s impossible for someone as kind and nurturing as you to not be beautiful to him!
He could only hope that you felt the same excitement whenever you spent time with him. You had to. Otherwise, why spend time with him? You surely had a thing for him too. You had to.
The more you played with Kylar the more attached you got. He was fun to text to and play with, and his mysterious nature made you more curious about him. You tried asking more questions over the last few weeks and lately, you’ve been curious about what he sounds like. At some point your head made up a deep voice, fitting for his mysterious personality.
It didn’t take long for you to take matters into your own hands, asking him whether not he wanted to join a Discord call with you. You were so ready to hear his voice. The thought actually made you all giddy and excited. As you exchanged Discord nicknames, you glanced at the screen. His nickname was Yamada-Kun, the same as his in-game nickname. He also had a picture of Yamada from ‘leveling up Yamada-Kun to lv999’.
Your heartbeat quickened up as you clicked the call button, ready to hear Kylar’s voice for the first time. Kylar answered instantly, which surprised you. You barely even heard the Discord call noise; you were instantly connected to a call with him.
Kylar shuffled about in his room, stumbling over his things. His hands felt shaky. His hands were sweating. He dried his hands by brushing them against his pants, hopefully less sweaty now. Kylar was so excited that he knocked over the microphone by mistake! Getting it took some time, since he had to be sneaky about it, but it was so worth it. Now his Darling can hear him in the highest possible quality! He was such a good boyfriend for you!
As the microphone fell, you shrank a little at the noise, curious as to what happened. “Hello?” you said. “Is everything okay, Kylar?”.
Your voice was so nice to him, so pretty and calming. It felt so good to hear you that he almost forgot about the microphone completely. He gingerly picked it up and placed it back on his desk. Then, he cleared his throat. “Y-Yeah, I’m good. My microphone just fell.”
Oh, he did not sound like you expected. Not in a bad way, of course! You didn’t expect him to sound so shy and nervous, that’s all. But it was so cute that you just had to tease him.
“Feels good to finally hear you, my Dear Duo! I was so excited. And I’m still excited for playing today. You ready?”
Although you couldn’t see it, Kylar was nodding his head repeatedly, black locks of hair flying around and messing up his hairstyle, making it more messy than usual. “Y-Yeah, that sounds absolutely great, my Lovely.”
Oh, he was using back pet names as well. He was so shy you thought he wouldn’t use it. You leaned back in your chair, pulling up League and logging it, then picking your preferred role to play before inviting Kylar to the game.
God, his voice was so nice to listen to, even with all the stuttering and occasional voice cracks when he complimented you on nice actions you did in-game. It was so soft and delicate. Your ears felt hot and you felt a flush come to your cheeks as you listened to his voice. You desperately wanted to hear more, so you gradually asked him more questions, which he seemed to answer gladly, happy to satisfy your curiosity.
The atmosphere on call was comfortable and it was nice to talk to someone during ranked games. Whenever he gave you a compliment or used a pet name, each time more confident than the other, you felt your stomach buzzing with energy.
You reflected the same energy back to him. You did have some kind of crush on him. But that’s because he seemed so curt and mysterious in the beginning, and now you found yourself falling for how cute and shy he was being on voice.
Your throat sometimes squeezed up, making it harder for you to say what you wanted. You didn’t even notice when you started to get nervous whenever you complimented him. Or used a pet name. You don’t remember when the last time was you felt so hot and giddy around someone else.
But you knew that the feeling, despite it being slightly uncomfortable, made you feel mostly good. Happy.
With how cold it was getting lately, your hands started to gradually become cold, to a point where you just couldn’t bear it anymore.
“I think I should lay down and heat up, Kylar. My hands are cold as fuck.” You said. You exited the game and started to slowly close up other tabs you might have had open.
“You could lay down a-and I’ll stream for you, Love! P-Please stay!” he sounded so desperate, it almost made you feel bad for wanting to go and lie down. A chuckle left your lips. He was so adorable. Like a bunny.
“Sure. I’ll call from my phone in a few minutes. Need to change into my night clothes. Be right back, Darling!” and so you ended the call. You got ready and as soon as you laid in the bed, Kylar instantly called you, almost as if knowing you are in bed already. Huh. He must have some crazy 6th sense.
You answered the call, getting comfortable under the covers. You already felt warmer, but not warm enough. Kylar pulled up some videos on YouTube as you guys chatted. Soon enough, he changed to Osu instead, showing you off his skill. Trying his best to impress you.
“Jesus, my hands still feel so cold. F-fuck, my whole body is cold.” you mindlessly complained, snuggling more into the comfort of your quilt and soft pillows, impatiently waiting for your body to generate enough warmth.
“I can be your blanket, Love!”
You almost choked on your salvia as your breath hitched, suddenly feeling shy as you mulled over his words. He wants to cuddle you. Or was it something else? You felt so light-headed you weren’t really sure. You hid your face in your covers.
“S-Sure. And I can be your pillow.”
This time it was Kylar’s turn to blush. He stopped whatever he was doing in Osu, his brain short circuiting. He destroyed his own streak on the current Osu map he was playing and because of the level difficulty you soon heard an old retro melody that would signal that the map has been failed.
His hands felt... Grabby. He desperately wanted to hug you. Feel you under his fingers. Give you the warmth you need. Slightly sweaty, too. He gulped.
“W-We should meet up, if you really want to c-cuddle, Love.... Can we meet? Please, Love. I want to meet with you so badly. Give me the address and I’ll come as fast as possible, no matter how far you are.”
His phone was already in the palm of his hand, looking up how far the busses and trains in his area would cost and how far they can take him. He was pretty serious about it.
You felt so embarrassed by your words. You gripped your pillow tighter, bringing it close to your chest. You were unsure on what to say as you contemplated your next words. You really wanted that hug.
“Okay, but... Only if you are somehow not that far away. Okay? You can come to (address)” you said. It wasn’t your home, but a place that was near enough. A gas station. A place where there are always people. It’s late and it would be the safest.
Kylar immediately looked up the place and noticed it’s 40 minutes away by buss. He started grinning, a red flush took over his cheeks, reaching his ears and neck. He gripped his phone tighter, already packing things he might need into his bag.
“G-Great. I’ll be there in an hour and a half! Jus-st wait for me, Love!” he ended the call, getting ready to meet up with you as fast as possible while you collected yourself and thought about what you have gotten yourself into.
-------------------------
A few other things I've thought about while writing this one.
Some Kylar headcanons ahead!
They are probably into Otome dating games.
In games like Osu! or Killing Floor, they are a casual player.
More competitive games make them aggressive, although they don’t show it on chat if there’s a penalty.
They do, however, make noises/sounds of frustration, maybe slamming their hand against the desk or keyboard, but never anything full-on destructive.
Of course, Kylar will hold those reactions back when playing with you!
To be honest, you have a calming effect on them.
I feel like Kylar would be a Nami main when it comes to support, alternatively other cute champs like Lulu, Soraka, Lux. But enjoys an occasional Pyke or Senna.
You bet they play anime songs/openings, Hatsune Miku or other Japanese music while beating the maps on Osu!
If they are not playing anime songs/openings, they sure as fuck play emo/scene music. Pierce The Veil, Breaking Benjamin, Asking Alexandra. Sounds about right to me. Oh yeah, also listens to Night Core.
I feel like at first, they would be court and short when it comes to messages. Mostly because they are shy and so they would seem cold at first. And yeah, you can’t hear their stuttering.
But writing stutters and such also suits them lmao. I think they would use a lot of (…) whenever they write something.
I am sure they would be voiceless at first because they would need to steal a microphone/headphones with microphone first, just so they can talk to you.

Road to recovery- part 8
Masterlist
Part of me was hoping that the hate would slow down a bit but of course it didn't. Every time I checked any form of social media all I saw was people posting about how much they didn't like me and assuming that I'm only friends with Pablo to gain something. I thought I'd be able to handle the comments but I just can't there has been so many more than I thought there would be and people have said such hurtful things about my appearance and my character. Pablo keeps apologising and asking if I'm ok and I just keep telling him I'm fine which is a bit of a lie but I can tell he already feels bad enough I don't want to make him feel worse by telling him how I really feel. The worst part about it is that everyone seems to be drawing attention to the things I was already insecure about which hasn't helped my mental state at all.
Today though I have a chance to cheer myself up a bit as I have a big check up with my doctor to see how my recovery is progressing. I think it's going pretty good so hopefully he agrees and says something positive as that would really lift my spirits. I've been nervous about the appointment today as well which has really made the last few days even more challenging on my mental health but I'm trying to stay positive as I know wallowing in sadness and anxiety won't do me any good.
Alonso came to pick me up a bit before my appointment; when I got in the car I expected him to tease me about everything that happened with the game this weekend but he didn't instead he asked if I was ok. I was going to lie to him too but because he's my brother he knows exactly when I'm lying so I had to tell him the truth. It was kind of nice to get all of my feelings off my chest and Alonso was really supportive and gave me some good advice. He's been through things like this before with getting hate for his performances out on track so he told me to just delete the apps off my phone for a bit that way I'm not tempted to look at what people are saying. In fact he stole my phone and did it for me as I think he knew I probably wouldn't do it myself.
Once I had my phone back I went into the hospital on my own leaving Alonso to wait in the car for me. The wait for my appointment wasn't long at all and then I went in and was immediately taken for some new scans to see how everything was healing. After scans I was subjected to a load of tests on my range of movement, how much weight I could put on my leg and how much pain I was in. The testing was rigorous and honestly quite exhausting as it's been a long time since I've done this much movement with my knee but for the most part it felt good. After I had done everything the doctor left for a while to review it all and look at my scans which left me just staring at the wall hoping to hear good news. Just as I was daydreaming the door opened again and the doctor came back in, his expression was impossible to read which for some reason filled me with a few more nerves.
"Ok Lola things aren't progressing as we would like them too internally you aren't healing as quick as we thought you would and your movement isn't at the range we would expect it to be" he said
"What does that mean?" I asked holding back tears
"For now it doesn't mean too much this can happen as we can't always accurately predict how quickly people will recover but we will set another one of these appointments in a few weeks and if we aren't seeing improvement you may need a second surgery so that we can see what's going on" the doctor explained
"Ok" was all I could manage to say
"I know this isn't what you wanted to hear but don't let it discourage you if you keep working hard you won't need the surgery" he said
We scheduled my next appointment and that was as long as I could hold it together. All of my emotions that I'd been holding onto for the last few days came out all at once, as soon as I left the hospital doors I burst into tears and I couldn't do anything to stop them. I made my way back to where Alonso parked but before I could get into the car Alonso had got out and wrapped me in his arms. He tried to get me to stop crying and tell him what was wrong but I just couldn't he tried everything to help me all of which had worked before but today nothing could stop me. Eventually he gave up and let me get in the car so we could go home because right now all I want is to just go home and get to grips with my emotions as I clearly have a lot to process.
As much as my eyes were filled with tears I could tell that Alonso didn't take the turn to take me back to my place which meant he was going to take me somewhere in hopes of cheering me up. I really didn't want to go wherever it was he was planning to go but I was sobbing too much to tell him to take me home. We went a bit further before the car stopped and I looked round a bit as at first I didn't recognise where we were but then I saw Pablo's house and realised we were just down the street. I should've known Alonso was going to bring me here but this is the last place I want to be I don't want Pablo to see me like this. I knew we said we would help each other out but I know for a fact Pablo is doing better and I know he's in a better place mentally and I don't want to ruin that by projecting my problems onto him that wouldn't be fair.
Alonso had to practically drag me out of the car and down the road which was rather easy for him as I'm not strong enough to put up too much of a fight. We walked down the street to Pablo's house where Alonso left me to ring the doorbell, part of me was hoping that he wouldn't be in even though he said he had no plans today. Of course after just a few seconds the door opened and I locked eyes with Pablo who straight away rushed over as quick as he could and wrapped me up in his arms. I wanted to stop crying but for some reason I only cried more once I was in Pablo's arms it was like he made me feel safe enough to truly let all of my feelings out. Pablo said a few words to my brother before taking me inside and allowing him to leave.
Pablo took me to the sofa and allowed me to settle into his embrace with my head buried in his chest so he couldn't see my tear stained and probably red and puffy face. His hand was gently stroking my back trying to calm me down while he whispered comforting words in my ears. It wasn't anything special what he was doing but hearing his words and feeling his hands on me did wonders in helping calm my emotions which I didn't have any control over. As my tears began to slow down Pablo kept rubbing my back and he even wiped some of the tears from my face that he could reach as I was still hiding most of my face. I never would've thought he would be so good at comforting me I mean he's always so hyper and full of energy I never imagined that he'd be any good at keeping calm and radiating that onto others but clearly he is. Once I had completely stopped crying and my breathing was getting back to normal Pablo put a hand under my chin and got me to look at him.
"Can you tell me what's wrong I hate seeing you so upset and I want to help" he said
"The doctor said my knee isn't healing properly and I might need another surgery if things don't get better" I said still sniffling slightly
"I'm sorry that sounds awful but that's not the only thing on your mind is it" he probed further
"No that's it" I lied
"Don't lie to me please just tell me what's wrong I'll do whatever I can to help and I won't judge you you know that" he said
Damn why doesn't he have to be able to read me like a book.
"Ok I've been getting a lot of hate since we were seen together at the game and it's been getting to me a bit I thought I could handle it as I'm used to criticism but I can't some people are just so mean" I admitted letting a few more tears fall
"I knew it was getting to you people on social media are assholes because they don't feel the consequences of what they say but none of what they say is true" he said
"But they keep talking about how I must be using you or how I don't deserve to even be friends with you which that part is kind of true" I rambled
"No it's not true I can't even imagine what my life would be like without you I love spending time with you just because you aren't famous doesn't mean you don't deserve to be friends with me and despite what they say I know you aren't using me I know you would never do that" he said
"And before you say anything all of the things they say about your appearance aren't true either you are beautiful inside and out and they are just jealous" he added
Hearing him say that put a smile on my face. Pablo has never really complimented me before he's told me my outfit was cool a few times but he's never called me beautiful so hearing it made me feel a lot better about myself. He must've noticed that I was finally smiling again as he told me I looked pretty when I smiled which only made my cheeks heat up but luckily my face was already red from crying so Pablo probably wouldn't have noticed. Although I kind of wish he knew how he made me feel because as time goes on it's getting harder and harder to hide my true feelings from him.
Pablo's POV
The pain in her eyes just shattered my heart. She's been my rock throughout every step of the way so far so to see her breakdown right in front of me really hurt. This whole time she's been the strong one never letting anything get to her but finally it's caught up with her and part of it's my fault because we got seen together at the game and now people are tearing her apart and one person can only handle so much. I feel so awful that I'm part of the reason she's so upset but knowing that I can be there for her and calm her down makes me feel a bit better. When she arrived she was hysterical and her brother told me he couldn't get a word out of her so he wanted me to try so that's what I did. I'm not very good at keeping myself calm at times let alone other people but I tried my best and after a while of just rubbing her back and whispering to her she calmed down. It felt good to be the one to help her because she's done so much for me that anything I can do to even remotely repay that I'll do in a heartbeat.
Hearing the way she criticised herself as well it pained me. She's the most beautiful and kind person I've ever met so to hear her say that she thought she didn't deserve to be friends with me hurt but what hurt more was to see that those horrible people got to her and made her feel insecure in herself. Throughout the time we've known each other I've always wanted to tell her just how beautiful she is but I've refrained as I know once I open the flood gates there's no going back. Once I start complimenting her I'm scared that I'll let my feelings show but today she needed it so I knew I had to take the risk. Seeing the smile that my compliments gave her made the risk feel worth it though as I'd do anything to keep her smiling 24/7.
Looking into her eyes as she smiled and blushed at my words made me feel some type of way. I've felt something for her since we first met and I've kept those feelings repressed until now but I don't know if I can do it any longer. She's just the most perfect girl I've ever met and I don't want to lose her whether that be to another guy or to the fear of what us being friends might mean for her. I have to tell her how I feel in hopes that as long as she feels the same way it gives her a reason to stick around even when things are tough like they are right now. As scary as it is I have to take the risk.

☆ - Childhood friends
isagi is so underrated, not proofread
honestly i went through so much trouble when tumblr posted this despite me saving it to drafts, and after that it just thanos snapped more than half of my writing away. i loved the first one, and this rewritten one just doesn't compare. unfortunately my memory isnt that good that i would remember everything i wrote, even if i remember the plot.😭
You've known Isagi Yoichi for as long as you can remember.
At this point, you don't even remember how the two of you met. Maybe it was through family friends, maybe you met in kindergarten, or maybe you two met at a playground and just decided to be friends.
But it no longer matters how and when you two met. Isagi and you were best friends, inseparable.
And you wouldn't wish for anything more. You wish that you didn't. But your heart can't help skipping a beat whenever you see him. When he's running towards you to greet you, with that huge grin of his. When you two walk to school together. When you pass by the football field. When he walks you home. He's your first thought when you wake up, and your last when you go to sleep.
You aren't entirely sure when your feelings turned out this way. It feels so foreign and new, and yet so familiar and like it was always there.
Your friends all knew. And you were sure that Isagi's friends knew too. But Isagi was oblivious to your feelings. You know him too well. You've watched him have crushes and fall in love, and it crushes you that he doesn't look at you the same way.
You are just his best friend. Nothing more, nothing less.
Then, Blue Lock came along. Isagi was so excited when he told you, and you were just as excited for him. You wished him good luck, and told him to text you whenever he got the chance. He promised you that he would.
But he never contacted you. At first you were upset about it, but you just figured he was busy with his training. But as weeks passed, you started to lose hope. Maybe you didn't matter that much to him, after all. You assumed that he would find the time for even one little text message.
It wasn't until you saw his mother one day that you heard that he didn't have his phone with him. Feeling a bit embarrassed by how you had reacted to the radio silence, you now felt at peace, and waited for him.
You were so excited when his parents invited you to come watch the U-20 game with them. Even if you didn't get to talk to him just yet, you would get to see just how much he had improved.
On the field, Isagi seemed different. He wasn't the sweet Yoichi you were so used to. However, you saw how he occasionally sent glances to the audience. Once his gaze fell on you, he gave you a wave and a smile, even though his teammates were quick to tease him about it. Seeing him surrounded by like-minded people made you happy.
There was no emotion to describe the feelings you had watching the match. Isagi had scored the final goal, making you full of joy. However, the distance between you two made you feel a bit sad. He was right there, so why did you feel like he was so out of reach?
The moment Isagi got his phone back, he texted you that he would come over immediately after getting home. You told him to spend time with his parents first, but seeing how he was soon in your doorstep drenched in sweat, you knew that he had just dropped his bag off and ran to your place.
"Hi." He said bit awkwardly. "Hi, Yoichi." You closed the door behind you so your parents couldn't eavesdrop on your conversation. Isagi seemed to ponder what to say next, before he quickly dropped to the ground on his hands and knees, bowing his head. "I'm so sorry (Y/n)!! I didn't know they would just take my phone away like that and I didn't have time to text you!! Please forgive me!!"
You were initially caught off guard, but soon you couldn't keep your laughter in. "It's fine, Yoichi. I was upset at first, but then I heard from your mom that you didn't have your phone."
"I was so worried you were angry at me! I didn't think that you would even come to the game." Isagi got back up, and from his expression you could see that he was being genuine. You gave him a soft smile, "Of course I came. You are my best friend, Yoichi." Those words hurt you, but you knew they meant the world to Isagi.
"Yeah...best friend." His voice was quiet as he let out an awkward chuckle. This confused you, as he usually never reacted like that. Usually he would nod and flash you a huge grin, which you would then think about nonstop for weeks. After thinking for a while, you realized something...
"Do you mean that you now have another best friend, Yoichi?! Is it that Bachira Meguru guy, we talked with his mom during the match and-" "(Y/n). What?" Yoichi cut you off with a dumbfounded look on his face. "What are you talking about?" "What?" You questioned him.
After a moment of silence and confused looks, both of you burst out laughing. "Okay, (Y/n). It's nothing like that. Listen." Yoichi's expression turned serious, which made you stop laughing. "Yeah?" You asked, a bit worried. Yoichi seemed to ponder what to say next, but instead he grabbed your hand. "Come with me!" He pulled you along and took you to a nearby park you two often went to.
You sat down on the bench, and Yoichi let your hand go. He looked tense and to you, it almost looked like he was shaking when you looked at him fidgeting with his hands. He was looking straight ahead, instead of at you. You nervously waited for him to start talking. You tried to calm him down by holding his hand, but he quickly moved away from your touch. That broke your heart a little.
"(Y/n). I- uh. I don't really know how to say this...I-" "Yoichi. Do you have a girlfriend?" Isagi's eyes widened as he turned to look at you. "What? No! No, that's not it!" "Really? Then what is it?" You tilted your head in confusion.
"Here goes nothing." Isagi took a deep breath, and took your hands in his. "(Y/n). I...really like you!" His grip on your hands tightened and his eyes were shut, as he waited for a reply. When you stayed quiet, he slowly opened his eyes. Complete panic washed over him when he saw that your eyes were filled with tears.
"N-nothing has to change between us, I promise! I just had to get this off my chest!" He tried to explain, but you just shook your head, wiping some of the tears away. "That's not it Yoichi. I've liked you for so long by now, I never thought this would actually happen." Isagi processed your words for a while, until a smile creeped on his face. Soon it was replaced by a confused expression.
"Wait. How long have you liked me for?"
"For as long as I can remember."
"What?"
"What?"
Once again silence followed, which was soon replaced by your laughter. Oh how foolish the two of you felt.
"You are always calling me your best friend though!" Isagi tried to protest. "You do too! You know how much it hurt when you always nodded and smiled at me so brightly when I said that?" You pouted at him. "Give me a break, I had to protect my own heart!"
After a bit of bickering, Isagi's expression turned serious. "I have an important question for you." "What is it?" You gave him a small reassuring smile.
"Will you...wait for me?"
A bit disappointed and confused, you waited for him to keep going.
"With this whole Blue Lock thing, I don't think you would be happy to be in a relationship with me. But once this is all over and I'm at the top, I'll come to you." His hands almost let go of yours, and his eyes showed a glimpse of sadness. "I understand, Yoichi. Go be the best striker in the world for me, okay?" You smiled at him, which he immediately answered with a nod and a smile.
You hung out with Isagi every single day on his two week break. He told you all about his training, his teammates, his new friends and rivals. You told him about how things were in school, and whatever had happened during the time that he was gone. He listened, despite your stories being less interesting compared to his.
Two weeks flew by, and soon you two had to say goodbye once again. It felt bittersweet, with your hug lasting a lot longer than usual. You wished him good luck, and promised to always root for him.
Now you were left alone once again, forced to just wait for the next time you could see him.

who gives a shit about tomorrow? (when it comes, we can worry then)
Inspired by the @goldenheart-week Day 5 prompts "disability" and "regret" along with Mika's Tomorrow. Cross-posted on AO3.
Chapter 1: you and I, we're really / really not that innocent
Perhaps the unreasonable heat had scrambled his ability to reason. There certainly was no other logical explanation for why Lord Ballister Blackheart, notorious villain, would reply in the affirmative to a middle-of-the-night message from Sir Ambrosius Goldenloin, Champion of the Realm, asking simply: “Awake? :)”
God, that smiley face.
He immediately regretted responding, but decided it was a problem for tomorrow and went back to willing himself to sleep.
Unsuccessfully.
He tried no blankets, but that felt deeply wrong on a fundamental level. Using a thin sheet to keep his sweaty limbs from rubbing together was a slight improvement, but he still found himself tossing and turning when the doorbell rang.
Ballister blinked at the clock, which informed him that it was a little after two. He had an unfortunate suspicion as to who it might be, and cursed his past self for not blocking his number. And/or for not changing his own.
He considered pretending that he hadn't heard the doorbell, but a series of impatient rings nixed that plan. Grumpily, he searched for his robe. While his visitor had seen him in less on (many) prior occasions — albeit over a decade before — just boxers felt entirely insufficient after all that happened between them.
As expected, he found Ambrosius Goldenloin on the other side of the door. Ballister couldn't remember the last time he had seen the knight in civilian clothes. His blouse was low cut — Ambrosius always did like showing off those collar bones — though a metallic gold instead of the minty green he used to favor. Before.
“Goldenloin,” Ballister greeted him flatly.
Ambrosius wore the same infuriating grin as he did when they sparred. “I thought you might like a fan in this fine weather we’re having.”
Ballister raised an eyebrow. “I don't see one.”
“Me. I'm your fan.” Ambrosius attempted to flip his signature mane of blond hair, but it was limp with humidity and the effect was altogether unimpressive. (At least compared to baseline.)
Ballister snorted. “Aren't you my archnemesis?”
“A hero can hold a certain…admiration for a worthy adversary,” he said not-quite-petulantly with a trace of a familiar pout.
Typical Ambrosius. Lately, it felt like he was treating their encounters like an ongoing game of pretend. Play-acting at knights and villains while conveniently ignoring all their history and baggage. Never once apologizing for his choices that had landed them into those roles.
And always, always flirting beneath a thin veneer of plausible deniability.
It was maddening.
Some combination of oppressive heat and tired delirium overrode all of Ballister’s better judgment, and he invaded Ambrosius’ space, trying to get under his skin the way he (regrettably all too often) got under Ballister’s. “Is that what I am? A worthy adversary?” he asked in a low voice.
Their eyes (and mouths) were less than a foot apart. Ambrosius’ previously cocksure gaze now held uncertainty, and Ballister could practically feel the huff of his ragged breath on his face.
Ambrosius retreated with a noticeable gulp.
Ballister pursued. (That is, if simply taking a single step forward could be considered a pursuit.)
This time, Ambrosius stood his ground, hand fruitlessly reaching for where his sword’s pommel would normally be, wary but likely aware he was in a trap of his own making.
Possessed by that same heatwave recklessness foolishness, Ballister’s left hand pushed back some of Ambrosius’ (slightly damp) hair, and his one-time lover stood still as a statue as Ballister continued to cup his head despite himself.
“Why'd you even come here, Zee?” he asked, not expecting an answer. The nickname — for so long locked behind years of hurt — slipped off his tongue without a thought, freed by the strange spell that had come over him. (And over Ambrosius too, presumably — he didn't usually do house calls. Especially unarmed. Damn this weather.)
Ambrosius shook off his trance and Ballister’s hand. “We should get out of the street.”
The lack of neighbors had been one of the strongest appeals of this warehouse-turned-lair and he doubted anyone was around to see them, but Ballister let him in anyway.
The thick security door closed behind them with a loud thunk.
And so they stood, inside, together, the stagnant air between them thick with humidity and awful awkward silence.
(A fan would be an improvement, actually, Ballister had to admit. The industrial ones in his workshop didn't do much for the living quarters. Pity Ambrosius usually blew hot air.)
After what felt like an eternity but was probably just a minute or so, Ambrosius cleared his throat. “I'm thirsty.”
When in doubt, Ballister apparently defaulted to banter. “Is that why you're here? That fancy townhouse of yours ran out of water?”
Still, Ballister made his way to the kitchen, and Ambrosius followed.
“Out of air conditioning, actually. Power’s out.”
“Grid probably got overloaded.” Another reason that setting up his own solar panel system — completely with backup batteries — had been worth the trouble (and cost — he’d had to pull off a few heists to raise the funds for materials).
Ambrosius nodded and made himself at home at the kitchen counter, perching himself on a stool. “Do you still make…oh, what did you call it, bottled starlight?” he asked wistfully.
Ballister’s earliest attempts at moonshine at the Institution were barely drinkable and hardly worthy of such a poetic name. Since then, with better lab equipment and more privacy — it had been damnably difficult to run a mini distillery undetected under the Director's nose — he’d managed to experiment and refine the process. As a minor side project, of course.
“I do. But moonshine isn't going to help with hydration.”
“So give me two glasses then. Just like you did when we were training together. One for water, one for the good stuff.”
Ballister rolled his eyes, but opened the cabinet with barware. He took out four glasses, one at a time, then reached for a bottle hidden in the back. A specially-built vice held it steady on the counter as he struggled momentarily with the cap.
When he looked up again, Ambrosius was staring — not at his face, but lower and to the side. At his injured shoulder, and the empty sleeve of his robe that flapped uselessly.
“Your arm…it's gone…”
Ballister took a deep breath, pinched his nose, and reevaluated his prior assessment of Ambrosius’ powers of observation. “You’re the one responsible for it and you're only just noticing.”
“Yes. No. I mean…” Ambrosius looked down. “When you're wearing your prosthetic…”
“Prosthesis.”
“Prosthesis. It's easy to… forget?” He dared to raise his gaze once more, and in those sky blue eyes Ballister could read guilt, clear as day.
“Ignore?” Ballister corrected pointedly.
Ambrosius winced. “I didn't have much time to see you immediately…after. You went from a hospital bed to walking around with a new arm in no time. And then you disappeared.”
“That's because the Institution was pushing one on me before my stump was ready for it, and then decided I was too much of a deadweight to keep around.” Ballister poured himself a glass of the moonshine and knocked it back. This batch was smoother than the last one, and in his current mood, he missed some of the harsh burn of his earlier attempts. “And maybe having me as a villain was always going to be more useful to them. Maybe that was the Director’s plan all along.”
Ambrosius didn't try to defend her. Instead, in a small voice, he asked, “May I see?”
The stool made an unpleasant scraping sound as he slid off it. He then made his way around to the other side of the counter — slowly, deliberately — to where Ballister stood.
Ambrosius’ hand rested gently against the belt of Ballister’s robe, but stopped short of opening it.
“Go ahead,” he said gruffly.
Ambrosius carefully undid the knot, slid the robe off of Ballister's shoulders, and folded it neatly on the counter. Ballister’s heart hammered inside his chest as a delicate finger traced each angry ridge and groove, but he willed himself to remain still.
“It's still so red,” Ambrosius whispered.
“I don't take off my prosthesis as often as I should,” Ballister said conversationally, as if he weren’t revealing his weaknesses to his self-proclaimed archnemesis. “It's devilishly hard to do on my own, but with this heat… I made the mistake of going outside yesterday and the metal got miserably hot.”
“Like that slide.” Ambrosius’ voice sounded distant as he revisited old memories. “At the playground we used to sneak off to. Near the orphanage. It would burn us during the summer.”
“Exactly. And the sweat” — Ballister wrinkled his face in displeasure — “it made the connector plate on my shoulder slide more than usual. And you know how you get puffy sometimes in the heat?”
Ambrosius nodded, eyes wide as he tried to imagine — likely for the first time — all the unpleasant details of a life with a metal prosthetic arm.
“Well that threw off the fit too. So that also made the chafing worse, and so...” Even one-armed, Ballister could shrug.
“I…I didn't know.”
“Fifteen years, Ambrosius,” he spat. “And you’ve never even wondered what you did to me.”
He flinched. “I’ve never met your equal with a sword. Before or…or after.”
“It hurts. Whenever I'm pushing against enough weight that it shifts the connector plate. Doesn't happen all the time, but broadswords…”
Ambrosius blinked as something finally clicked. “That's why you switch arms sometimes.” His expression shifted into something that might have been genuine (overdue) contrition. “Ballister, I'm so sorry.”
“Took you long enough to apologize,” he said acidly.
“I...I didn't before? Oh God.” His face grew pale and he raised a hand to cover his mouth.
“Doesn't mean I forgive you,” Ballister warned as he rested his (remaining) hand on Ambrosius' shaking shoulders, tapping a finger to time his breath.
“I… I under…stand.” It took a few cycles of long inhales and exhales, but soon enough Ambrosius stilled and Ballister stepped back.
“Ready to go home?” This middle-of-the-night foolishness had lasted long enough, and if Ambrosius left now, maybe they could both pretend it didn't happen.
“I still want that drink,” Ambrosius said with conviction, and his eyes burned blue.
“So you can blame whatever happens next on the alcohol?” Ballister accused. “So like you, Ambrosius, always deflecting responsibility on something — or someone — else. Well, I'm not going to let you this time.”
And he pulled him close for a fierce kiss.
His teeth scraped against Ambrosius’ lips, and then his tongue took advantage of the slightest part to invade his mouth.
Ambrosius let out a soft moan, and — just as expected — reciprocated.
Their tongues dueled, and manicured nails scratched at Ballister’s back.
“Wait.” Ambrosius pulled back, panting, pupils still blown wide. “Unhand me, villain?” he added, almost as an afterthought.
“This isn't what you came here for?” Ballister breathed into his ear.
Ambrosius shivered.
“Still trying to tell yourself that I'm the one in the wrong, even after you finally apologized? That you didn't kiss me back just now? That you didn't come here yourself with not-so-innocent intentions?”
Ballister was close enough to see the trajectory of Ambrosius' Adam's apple as he swallowed.
“If you want this, want me… you make that choice. Own that choice,” Ballister hissed.
Ambrosius searched his eyes for a beat, lips parted, then cupped his face with both hands.
And kissed him.
Regrets could wait until tomorrow.

Even though Jack had such an amazing day with Lou, he couldn't wait to log out and tell the others that the second painful spot is gone! Since their therapies go so well, they don't monitor each session all together anymore. One of them is supposed to be near the one who's currently ingame, so they installed an opening in the kitchen to the therapy room.
Jack immediately took off the VR glasses and the robo arm and his shirt to show Ji Ho his progress ^^' Ji Ho: "Oh Jack, that's amazing!" Jack: "All thanks to our incredible Tiny Can! Let's show the others! Ah I'm so glad I didn't give up and went back ingame!" Ji Ho: "I'm so happy for you." Jack: "I love you too :3 "
Meanwhile Saiwa is working hard to overcome his 'bird/fake relationship/Kiyoshi/Jeb problems... He went all in in his exposure therapy and even placed flamingo lounge chairs so he can practice here too... But he's having a hard time going through all these memories again. And Vlad wasn't very helpful. He's still worrying what Caleb might do with Ji Ho in Ji Ho's therapy. Saiwa sighed: "Don't give Ji Ho a hard time, hm? Try a little harder to make him feel good so he won't fall even more for Caleb. It will soon be over and then he's yours alone. Hang on." Sai already told him this a few times before. But he also knows how hard it is to change and accept things one couldn't change.
Luckily Jack came running along with Ji Ho to disturb their gloomy thoughts with his never failing puppy energy ^^' Saiwa heard their footsteps and was alarmed. He always expects the worst when Jack is involved ö.Ö' Saiwa: "Omg - did something go wrong?" Jack: "VLAD! SAI! The second spot is already gone! Only ONE left!"
Saiwa, relieved: "That's unbelievable! I never imagined it would ever get better without you getting back together with Kiyoshi! I mean, he's your fated mate. How is it possible you can leave him just like that?" Jack: "Hey, I endured over 6 months of searing pain! Fate learned now that I'm determined! Plus I'm the Su..." The others chimed in: "Super Soldier!" (hahaha, them ^^')
They are so happy for Jack :3 There is a new area to sit outside by the river and they gathered by the fire. Jack told them about his insightful talk with Lou which also inspired the others to try to find ways to improve their relationships. And, since the Therapy Game is going so well for them, they also discussed how they could make it acessable for the creatures in the real world, as planned. They currently can't be of any help for other creatures in the Muggle World who suffer under the Council and from other hazards. The least they can do is to offer them the Therapy Game. Vlad only listens half-heartedly.
Jack tries to convince Saiwa to let him go back in his therapy before the others but Saiwa insists that they take turns. Ji Ho's therapy is important too. To finally find his buried feelings and to get this over with Caleb to prevent Vlad from going insane... Which is nearer than one might think because suddenly he jumped up in and threw a jealousy tantrum...
Jack: "We should leave them alone."
Ji Ho: "We'll talk about the game later." Only Ji Ho can fix him.
Jack: "Come on, Sai. Let them charge the Bond. We'll go and play Simbles." Sai looked questioning at Ji Ho and he nodded.
Doesn't mean it isn't still awkward as hell when they're alone...
Ji Ho eventually made the first move and carefully approached Vlad - and Vlad hissed! But Ji Ho learned not to be offended. The Bond already told him how much Vlad craves Ji Ho's touch. He just can't let his foolish pride and priciples go...
The Little Goats Satyrs have a new friend as it seems! Little Dust Bunny joined them and they are briefing him on the story hahaha
Until Little Goat heard some highly anticipated and telling noises... He sneaked around the corner to take a look.
Little Goat: 'Boys! Come over! They're doing it!!!' Little Dust Bunny: 'Whoa!' The Little Goats delivered on their promises ^^'
'Reach out, touch faith
Your own personal Jesus, someone to hear your prayers Someone who cares Your own personal Jesus, someone to hear your prayers Someone who's there'
Personal Jesus - Depeche Mode
Ji Ho hesitantly reached out for Vlad and he looks a bit worried because he knows how much Vlad tries to avoid getting overly physical as long as Ji Ho isn't able to love him... And Ji Ho still can't get used to Vlad's hairless chest ^^'
Ji Ho: "I'm yours alone. I only want you." That's what the Bond is telling Vlad too but it's still killing him that Ji Ho is going to marry Caleb ingame. Ji Ho will make him forget it. At least for a while. Little Goats and Little Dust Bunny: 'Aouwww!'
Poor Jack and Saiwa. Let's hope they'll find love again soon too.
(I took a lot of pics of Vlad and Ji Ho in the hot tub. I'll make a little extra post like last time ^^')
Addendum: After I posted 'A Rainy Night in Soho' in the last episode, I googled around a bit for Nick Cave and this song and I found out that he and Shane had been good friends. And that Nick sang 'A Rainy Night in Soho' at Shane's funeral. I didn't cry when I heard that Shane died, but when I watched the video, I did. (I still do as I write this. Thank you for the music, Shane.)
'Now the song is nearly over We may never find out what it means Still there's a light I hold before me You're the measure of my dreams The measure of my dreams'
