omg I need your thoughts on the terminally o line author culture bc ngl it makes my eye TWITCH, there are authors I deliberately avoid even tho I've heard their stuff is good bc they're like that 🙈
HHHHH oh good lord, okay, from how I see it, there are two angles on this, both aggravating and sad: the official decree one and the spontaneous ecosystem one.
The officious one is that the nature of publishing nowadays demands an author have an online presence. You need Twitter/X. You need to let every potential reader know your book is coming out. You need engagement through reviews and pre-orders incentives (if you buy now you’ll get a special keychain!!) and word of mouth assurances from your peers that yes your book is as cool as you say it is. You need a newsletter with links (more buying! more voting on lists that are simply popularity contests!) and promises you’re still working on the next thing, don’t forget about me in the morass of everyone else doing the same thing. You need an Instagram and TikTok now to post pretty pictures and videos because one or two authors made it big off this kind of promotion and now everyone thinks it’s the ticket to the bestseller list (sadly, it seems to be working). You need an OnlyFans (a joke but I do recall a twt spat that was a joke/not joke about how rupi kaur will always be more beautiful than her critics and people who took issue with the conflation of beauty with talent). At the end of all this, you’re basically an influencer, a content creator creating content for the content you should be focusing on creating, the finished novel. And the novel itself seems to be disappearing behind the masks used to promote it (fanfic-style tropes, moodboards, playlists, memes) until I now no longer trust the book that I’ll pick up to have any resemblance to the enticements that brought me here. I’ve seen an author or two complain about the stress all this self-promotion generates, but it’s become such an entrenched part of the industry, I think people just accept it. And thus spend too much time online hoping that if they tweet just a little more, produce just one more reel, maybe that’ll be the difference between a sale and no sale.
The other side of this, distinct but obviously connected, is the ecosystem created by this panic of being perpetually visible coupled with the fact that so many of the new authors came of age during the rise of internet fandom culture. That opinionated community mindset that blurs the line between anonymity and friendship is the lens they bring to their own work. I mean, it makes sense I suppose—if you love yelling about characters and words, why wouldn’t you do that once you start to produce your own? This really came home to me hearing about that reviewbombgate “scandal” and how people involved were in reylo circles and that was used to provide receipts. You’re interacting with your readers and peers about your intimate work but they are also all strangers. They will not always give you the benefit of the doubt, and now—as opposed to the past when maybe the worst that could happen was a handful of bad reviews in newspapers—you will either be tagged in hate reviews, sub-tweeted, explicitly called out, demanded to atone for your sins. It’s no longer the morality of consumption but the morality of production. Of course, the easy answer is just log-off, touch some grass. But that can work only when you and everyone else are separated by anonymous accounts or when you have no platform to maintain. As an author trying to make your livelihood from this, suddenly it’s do or die. We’re in a strange moment of authorship bringing the Internet’s echo-chamber and claustrophobic into the real world (this is a lie: publishing now is no longer the real world. But it looks like it) and thus you can kind of no longer escape things.
Will the average reader who isn’t aware of all these machinations care about reviewbombgate? Would a reader browsing at Target think about the controversies around Lightlark? Very likely not. But the impression I’m getting more and more is that the average reader isn’t the one buying all the books. Or shall we say—a bestseller’s status relies on bookstore stock. Bookstore stock is only huge when they know a book will be a good investment. They’ll only know a book is a good investment if it and its author has street cred based on booktokkers, bookstagram, bloggers and reviewers (have you noticed how many books out these last maybe 1-3 years have these kinds of accounts thanked in the acknowledgments? Yeah), and THESE are also chronically online people who will Know. And decide the cast of fate.
Honestly, @batrachised, I see why you avoid these kinds of writers, though I wonder how long it’ll be before the disease becomes epidemic.

Hi!
I know right now may not be the best time to say this, but I'm kind of still processing how fast this all happened. As someone who likes to look over artists' past work esp my fav works daily and just suddenly noticed that they're almost all gone: twitter, instagram, and tumblr. It frustrates me that not only has this situation affected you, but how it really takes one selfish and inconsiderate person to ruin everything for others. I truly hope that you can heal from this and maybe we might see those pictures again, but this is just soo much to process. Just love and support for you <33333 🥹🫶😭🫶🫶🫶🫶
Hi. I’ve privated a lot of my work on tumblr and Instagram, so they’re not gone forever. I still have a lot of positive memories with them so I didn’t want to delete them. I wanted to keep all the nice comments and support I’ve gotten over these past few years.. I might unarchive them sometime in the future when I’m more okay with it being looked at. Twitter, I had no choice but to delete it, especially ones with dick, jason, and Peter Parker. My brain freaked out a little bit from seeing evidence of the person saving my art and making fake clip files with them. Logically, I am aware deleting my old art in response is stupid.
But it wasn’t limited to just comic art, it was other interests I had too which was really uncomfortable that someone would go to the extent of pretending they like other stuff I liked. They would also paraphrase tweets I’ve made about my personal life onto their own twitter. That just isn’t okay.
Every interest I’ve ever fallen in love with meant a lot to me. This is probably not publicly known information since I’m relatively private, as a depressed autistic person, a lot of who I am is what I end up liking. My friends and relatives describe me as dressing up like a cartoon character, because everything I like is so visibly obvious. I become utterly consumed in my favorite things. Suddenly, it feels like all of my control was taken away from me. My interests collected over the years were no longer just mine, it was someone else’s because they decided to lie and it was easier to continue lying. I don’t know how much was saved. There was a screenshot of a message with over 8+ of my art works sent excluding the fake files.
I don’t have control over it. The impersonation of my identity and my life experiences.
But I do have control over who gets to see what I put out in the future. I could probably write this better but I’ve rewritten a lot of things within these two days. Rewritten posts over and over so it sounds less aggressive, less hurt, less like I am trying to call for a witch hunt and more just taking extra precautions. I don’t think I have the energy to rewrite this to seem less vulnerable/pathetic.
I want to apologize to everyone who hoped I’d keep my past art public. I know how it feels. I’ve been fans of artists who just blew up their account one day and never came back. I only privated them on tumblr and Instagram. That’s all I can do. Honestly, I’m hoping a part of my brain just forgets some of this happened since depression does come with memory loss.. This post is now too long.. but I hope it gives some insight for what’s happening on my side of the brain. I appreciate all the support so far.
If you see me acting a little weird on twitter, I’m just trying to regain a sense of control over my identity.

Something I see and have seen more of since the SA hearing started was people taking tweets/statements in Hebrew and using Google translate to claim these Israelis are saying really racist, crazy things. Like I'm sure there are asshole Israelis who spout off racist shit, but every country has that, and people can cherry pick whatever they want.
But part of me doubts all of these tweets are even translated correctly. I mean, Google Translate is notoriously bad, but suddenly, it's reliable? I'm sure it's fucking up in some cases, and I wouldn't be shocked if some are straight up wrong or faked (it's not that hard especially now with ai).
But again even if all these racist tweets calling SA's monkeys/slaves and should be bombed are true, those don't represent all Israelis and its clear they're picking the worst examples. Also, it's so annoying to see this idea coming from people who defend the antisemitic stuff in their movement by claiming it doesn't represent all of them. So again it just becomes anouther double standard for Israel/jews in general.
Hi Nonnie,
Absolutely, you're right that there was a lot of taking things out of context, like presenting something that an Israeli official said about destroying Hamas, as if it's said about all Palestinians.
But you're right to be skeptical that maybe some translations are incorrect. Automatic translations ARE bad, but there are also people who are intentionally mistranslating.
I'll give you an example. I'm sorry now that I didn't save that post, but I found the vid that the post used the first 5 seconds from. It's a vid of Yoav Gallant, Israel's Defense Minister, speaking about how, "Gaza won't return to what it was before. We will eliminate everything." Which sounds pretty damning, right? Except the translator intentionally skipped four short words in Hebrew. Gallant actually said, "Gaza won't return to what it was before, Hamas won't be, we will eliminate everything." <- These 3 short words (Hamas lo ihie) totally change the meaning! Here's the vid, and a transcription of the Hebrew words, if you wanna try and follow: "Azza lo tachzor lihiot ma she'hi haita, Hamas lo ihie, nechasel et ha'kol."
youtube
Please note that this is an official translation, from an actual news source, the Al Arabiya channel. Which shows you how much you can trust media that's biased against Israel.
Those three omitted words make it clear that what Gallant means will change after the war is specifically that Hamas will be removed from Gaza, and 'we will eliminate everything' refers to the terrorist infrastructure of Hamas in Gaza, not to the entire area.
What gets to me is that you can clearly hear Gallant say 'Hamas' at the start of his second sentence, even without understanding Hebrew or following the entire transcription, so you don't even need to take my word for it. You can listen to it for yourself, and see that someone omitted the word 'Hamas' from the translation, which in the context of a sentence then quoted by countless anti-Israel social media accounts, and by South Africa at the UN's International Court of Justice, is quite a significant omission.
And this is just one example. So yeah, absolutely DO NOT TRUST translations that come from anti-Israel sources. They have every reason to lie, omit and distort, and millions who blindly believe them.
As for how there are some bad apples in Israel, of course there are! Every human group has both horrible and amazing people, and everything in between. That's not the question. In the context of a state, it's a question of whether these people represent an actual policy? Do they even have power to dictate policy? When they say awful things, how are they treated, are they embraced, or denounced? Is the implementation of the state's actual policy in the field indicative of genocidal intents, or do the over 10,000 aid trucks allowed by Israel into Gaza so far, speak louder than an insignificant Israeli politician, who doesn't even have the authority to dictate Israel's policy regarding Gaza, and who thinks he's scoring some cookie points by saying some dumbass shit?
Like one Israeli politician, who's in charge of heritage, whatever that's supposed to mean (I can't tell you a single accomplishment of his, or a task he oversees, but he certainly isn't in charge of ANYTHING that has to do with the war) who was asked (so this dumbass didn't even come up with this dumb take himself), "Would it be a possibility for Israel to use a nuclear bomb on Gaza?" and he said yes. He didn't come up with this idea, he didn't say it's a certainty, he didn't call for its execution, he was just asked about the option and said it exists, except anyone with a single brain cell (yes, you can tell my opinion of him), and certainly the people in Israel with real power, would tell you that even if anyone was that inhumane, dropping a nuclear bomb on Gaza, which is right by Israel, with tons of Israeli communities right next to the border, would kill countless people in Israel, too. Which I am sure he would not actually support in a real life scenario. Oh, and he also got denounced and suspended right away. And still he was quoted at the ICJ, because why not? We all know every country is measured by what its dumbest, least consequential politician says, not by what its leaders do... Oh wait, no. That's just Israel.
So yes, you're right. It is an application of a double standard that discriminates the Jewish state, while most countries aren't treated that way, and while Israel haters themselves wouldn't wanna be treated like that.
I hope you're well, and taking care of yourself in the face of all of this hateful propaganda and discrimination! xoxox

Seeing a lot of Goth girls on Twt who's selfies get a ton of likes because they're super pretty. It made me think of Gothkasa making a twt that accidently blows up because she's the exact type of gorgeous goth girl the internet goes crazy for.
Though it makes Eren super jealous and he spend ages just scrolling through her replies, getting angry over all the guys flirting or acting like creeps on her tweets. The only positive being that he's in the background of a few of her selfies which leads to a lot of sad/angry replies thinking that she has a boyfriend.
Mikasa never corrects any of the comments asking whether he is her boyfriend because she likes to pretend he is and letting people believe they're a couple 😌 (they're still only friends at this point
Stop i'm laughing so hard. Also because Eren 11/10 was the one to force her to even get twitter, bc he's always wanting to send her stuff or whatever, and interact with her. And the first pic she fucking posts blows up and suddenyl she has a new cult following and he's all whiny and pouting bc twitter not only sees his girlfriend's impressive rack in her low cut shirt, but is now taking up way too much of her time and stealing her attention from him.
He gets his revenge by starting to be in all her pics and Mikasa doesn't mind bc it's an excuse for him too touch her and suddenly every time she's taking a selfie there he is, arm around her titties so the ppl can't see 🥹🥹 JUST FRIEND THINGS U KNOW !!! COUGH COUGH!! He accidentally on purpose cops a feel one day, and they both are just staring at each other bc his hand is full on grabbing her boob, and BOOM IMMEDIATE MAKE OUT AND THATS HOW THEY BEGIN THEIR OFFICIAL RELATIONSHIP

Re, this anon: https://olderthannetfic.tumblr.com/post/719669829313953792
Yeah, well... that's the point of a bunch of internet activists: they throw the stone and hide the hand, screeching that, if you're doubting their innocence, you're an imperialist racist who should never be allowed on the internet.
Stitch, the person they're picking up a lot of their schlock from, is a master in this: they attack people, and the moment those who got attacked ask what they've done that's wrong or ask to have a one-on-one conversation with them, they shut everything down, screenshot whatever they received, block the person, and then go on Twitter whining about being a victim of racism because their words weren't listened to like the Gospel. Over and over again.
After the TOG racefaker scandal broke, I went through her blog and, just as I had expected, she too followed the same modus operandi: attack, screenshot, block, cry about being a victim of racism because people didn't let her insult them and demanded explanations about her ranting, wannabe-academic, posts.
They're not the only ones who do/did this, but these are the two examples of constant "harassment is good if I do it, but I'm the only victim and the others deserved it" cycle that come to my mind as of now.
When you're looking at End OTW Racism, you have to expect the same thing. They don't have answers, they don't want to have answers. This whole movement (horribly organized, horribly promoted, horribly everything) is nothing but a huge stroke of ego for its organizers.
You know how antis accuse others of being racist or pedophiles or whatever else because, that way, the accused cannot defend themselves? This is the same thing: if the OTW doesn't address their manifesto, then they're racist because they refuse to acknowledge it; if the OTW does address their manifesto, then they're admitting that they didn't care about racism until the moment they were called out on it and their concern regarding racism within the OTW is manufactured.
It's a win-win situation for them because, no matter how much you try, if you don't fully and absolutely agree with them, you can be branded as racist.
If you scroll through the End OTW Racism tag on Twitter, you'll see plenty of people (and especially the organizers), tweet stuff in the same vein as "I went to olderthannet's Tumblr and oof," not so subtly accusing all the people who raised valid concerns and asked valid questions of being racist.
I'm also not the first person who mentions this, but Stitch does seem to be heavily involved with the project, and even if they weren't, their words have been used to build the manifesto, and they amplified this crap through one of their Teen Vogue articles.
Now... not only Stitch is known for acting in bad faith, attacking creators of colors, branding them as Uncle Toms, purposefully making fun of them if they don't agree with them and sending their followers to attack and harass, but, just in April, they were being dragged because of another article they wrote, in which they compared writing fics about bad fictional characters to worshiping serial killers. Weeks before that, they were being dragged because their fanbase of antis discovered that their fics included incest, something that goes greatly against their preachings.
How big of a coincidence is it, that Stitch needed to have their image cleaned of all sins and suddenly a group of people drops a manifesto and hashtag about racism in fandom, founding a movement Stitch fully and absolutely agrees with and can rave about for days on end? A movement that offers very vague answers and plans, and those creators attack anyone who doesn't immediately agree with them, to the point that no questions can be ever asked about it?
Unless I'm shown actual evidence that Stitch isn't involved with this, nothing will convince me that End OTW Racism was launched for any reason that isn't to rehabilitate Stitch in the eyes of their chronically online audience.

hey it's the anon who asked what dr*m did,
I decided to do my own research (mainly cause I was curious) but... I can't find much? let me rephrase it - I did find the allegations from 6ish months ago, that he's going to court with one(?) of them, but that's... all? I didn't find the court's verdict, confirmations, or him admitting either... and any post or video I find has both the OP and the comments mostly on his side and believing that it's either not true or true but not grooming, even people who say they're not his fans or don't even like him.
so Im not sure if the confirmation didn't reach youtube or if I'm searching wrong or something?
but honestly while researching I realized that I cant stand him lmao, gotta agree with some comments I read - he made a mistake by showing more of his personality online, looks like any time he can handle a situation wrong/respond wrong he does it
so dunno, guess I didnt find the confirmation but at least now I don't find his old minecraft videos interesting anymore so theres that
Yeah he can't act properly to save his fucking life
Also I think most of the threads on Twitter and stuff that have all the proof he's guilty/etc is probably long buried, unfortunately. You could probably try to ask around saying you're trying to get the whole picture but tbh it's not a huge deal if you can't. You can try searching my blog but Tumblr sucks with that shit. The fact that this and his other controversies have been buried and lost to the void of the internet is typical white boy with a monstrously big platform shit so I'm not surprised. I never heard any details about court (prob for legal reasons) or a conviction either. All I know is there was screenshot proof from the victim that they talked, and Dr*m confirmed the screenshots were real but didn't say anything about other details. But those details literally can't be false if the screenshots & the shit said in them are true.
Anyway, as far as his other bullshit goes:
People found old kkk meme edits on his yt account through the wayback machine. More than once if I'm not mistaken
He has a history of defending himself using the r slur
He cheated "on accident" in a speedrun (the least important thing ever but everyone always brings it up)
He claimed he was going to donate all proceeds during pride month to lgbt+ charities & he'd do charity streams all month but never did
He defended himself about replying to haters, which would send thousands of his toxic stans after the person getting them doxxed/death threats/etc and he refused to address that it was irresponsible of him bc he was too entitled to immaturely clap back at the antis. Even other ccs, like B/itzel called him out about shit related to how he uses his platform irresponsibly & he unfollowed & shaded them like a bitch baby
The whole "accidental" copycat shit with QSMP/USMP and basically softcore stalking Q/uackity online.
His "apologies" for all of the above fucking sucked in multiple ways. And that's just 2021-Now shit I can remember off the top of my head, I lost my Twitter in May last year so now I get my info from people's posts about it on here or links to tweets.
Everyone largely suspects he spontaneously reignited d/smp lore & started the finale to cover up the groomer thing bc he has a history of doing smth "new and cool" every time he causes drama to divert attention and avoid accountability.
He's also suspected of suddenly rewriting the d/smp finale to paint his Irredeemable Abuser Villain Up Until The Last Stream as a sympathetic poor baby out of nowhere and wrote that his victim, c!Tommy apologized to him, which sends a HORRIBLE message about abusive relationships. T/ommy and T/ubbo have both subtly mentioned not liking the finale and that Dr*m had AWFUL communication during the last like 6+ months of the smp.
He also suddenly showed up in T/ubbo's chat lurking while T/ubbo happened to be mentioning he'd do his own research on the grooming situation instead of blindly siding with Dr*m and it was some shit out of a horror movie is2g, he suddenly dmed T/ubbo out of nowhere during it on discord saying they'd talk about it after T/ubbo wasn't streaming. Basically sounds like he was gonna bias T/ubbo about his innocence. Like he hadn't been in chat all stream long but SUDDENLY he was there the second the topic came up. But the d/smp ccs also can't say anything about the situation since it's a legal matter, so a handful of ccs have just stated/implied they don't support him other ways
He only quit MCC bc he threw a tantrum about how he couldn't practice for it but now that MCC island exists, people were getting better than him. He's habitually a sore loser about that kinda shit
He's got that whole weird "is he, isn't he" bullshit going on about him being lgbt. I personally think he's just catering to his stupid d/n/f shippers bc they like to truth their relationship & sexuality all the time and he's never explicitly said he's bi or smth. He's just vaguely been like "yeeeaahhhh I mostly like girls like 99% but maaaayyybeee I like guys idkkkk. 🤪" But he's also done that multiple times so who tf knows. I'm not gonna fully dismiss him & I understand no one including me is entitled to his specific sexuality, but he has garbage credibility on like everything so I'm neutral on the matter and find it hard to believe him
Not directly him related, but his stans went on a long and horrifying witch hunt on Twitter during the kkk ordeal doxxing, death threatening & harassing ENTIRE mcyt subtwts who spoke out against him and called him out on his racism, performative activism, shitty apology, etc. For example, I was part of S/neeg's subtwt and all my mutuals and me had to go private to avoid getting doxxed. It felt like being raided in some dystopian ass horror film. Entire subtwts were going private, panicking, paranoid they'd get outed & stalked & harassed by people just for condemning racism, raising Black voices, etc. It was borderline traumatic to some people, I know people who lost sleep over it bc they were so afraid.
That's all I can think of off the top of my head but the end of 2021 to early 2022 was a fucking nightmare between him being an immature entitled piece of shit and his stans blindly defending him and going out of their way to endanger people who rightfully opposed him.

what exactly did frank iero do. other than problematic tweets that he made in like 2009 (over a decade ago). like people intentionally try to engage with him in a way where he gives them ‘sass’ or rubs them and that’s his brand
TW. harassment, suicide, self harm, cyber bullying, death threats
Before I get into it, I'm really glad that someone asked about this because I've been meaning to make a post about it. Thanks for asking about it.
I'd recommend checking out @ patheticjunkievampire on Instagram (and possibly twitter? I'm not completely sure if they've said much about it on there) they mostly talk about that incident when frank made a tweet saying smth along the lines of "is you see any accounts saying that they're me reply with "STRANGER DANGER"".
Tumblr media
The account he was referring to (patheticvampirejunkie) was literally just posting MCR themed photography- they never claimed to be frank and yet he sent his entire fanbase to essentially harass this person (again, all they did was post photography.)
If you go back and check their first post, a lot of the comments are just "STRANGER DANGER". I know that might not seem like a lot rn but it gets worse.
They posted a lot on their story after they finished the set (I'm not sure what the word for that is. The MCR themed photos they did all counted down from 64 (the beginning) to 1 (the end)) they talked about how the MCR fandom and specifically frank Stans have made their mental health significantly worse than it was when they started posting.
They would post screenshots of interactions they've had with Frank Stans and it's sickening. They received death threats, and messages like "you should kill yourself" and ppl would tell them to cut themselves.
Patheticjunkievampire has also stated before that they've struggles with suicide and self harm in the past, so the fact that these hardcore stans used this against them is sick.
A few people reached out to patheticjunkievampire and told them about experiences they've personally had with Frank. This person gave a platform to people who have had bad experiences with him (ik you cant tell whether someone is a dick or not purely based of some people's experiences, but there were a lot and they were all relatively similar. So to me, these stories that people shared seemed extremely possible since the things he did just suddenly seemed like something he would do.)
The frank stans didn't like that this person was giving a chance for people who had bad experiences with him to express their feelings. They received so much hate for simply saying their opinion.
This all took place on Instagram and Twitter. Obviously depending on what platform you use and engage with MCR content, you're gonna be around different people. The ppl on Tumblr seem way more accepting and open to criticism of their fav band, the ppl on twitter and Instagram are way different.
In my opinion it's kinda weird that frank hasn't really said anything about it. He's literally always online, how tf has he not even heard of any of this??
Another thing I just wanna add (doesn't have anything to do with patheticjunkievampire but I still think it's worth adding) frank sold a bunch of his old stuff. Which isn't inherently bad or anything but...
He was advertising a bunch of old clothes and instruments he had during the MCR era, so he was clearly targeting his fans (his young fans). He was advertising extremely old shitty clothes (that you can find way cheaper literally anywhere else) and he sold them for like X4 (at least) of the original prices. He claimed (for the instruments at least) that he wanted to know that they were being played, because he obviously can't play all those instruments at once.
In that case, if the main reason that he was getting rid of all these instruments... Why didn't he just donate them?? Why did he have to heavily advertise his store to his fans and then sell all his old ratty shitty clothes for such a huge profit? Just doesn't seem ethical to me tbh...
TL:DR
My main problem with Frank is that he, not only, picks on people on twitter, but he makes that kind of behaviour acceptable. By not apologizing or taking accountability for these things, he makes this behaviour (harassment, death threats, cyber bullying, telling ppl to kill themselves or hurt themselves) an okay thing to do. His fans are so toxic and will defend him so much to the point where if you literally just say that you don't like him, they will harass and spam you with really triggering things.
I really hope this clears that up. He's definitely done other things but I couldn't remember them- if anyone has anything else to add please do.

trope ideas for you <3 you can put anyone in either spot
person a hasnt posted in a long time and accidentally posts on public story with person b, ensue chaos
person a and b have never been seen together but at a motorgp they're seen attached by the hip suddenly
person a is looking at person b's twitter (or just SOMETHING) and accidentally likes an old tweet, the "liked by ____" bot makes a comment, stuff goes down (wtv you want)
person a has no social media so person b makes posts for them/lets person a make posts on person b's account
person a is doing a livestream of some sorts and person b comes in on the background, nobody knew they know one another OR if you do person a as a driver, nobody knows who person b is
person a says person b is their celeb crush, person b gives tickets to an event they both attend together
i can come up with more if you would like <3
thank you thank you THANK YOU 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼 i love all of them especially the accidentally liking a post because that happened to me many times and each time i panic

Coming in to just say a thought, I love how you're so real about things and stick with your beliefs (even if any changes you never act like people can't change their way of thinking about something and you don't give others shit for doing the same).
You're very honest and I enjoy reading your replies to people and just anything you post/say in general, you're very comforting and when you're online and responding to anons or on Twitter tweeting about stuff, it makes me feel very safe, an example I can give is when you see your friend isn't in school yet and think they're not coming so you'll be alone, but then you suddenly see them arrive and you're extremely relieved and comforted by it.
-💖🥺
aww that’s so sweet! i love seeing your asks in my inbox, they are always so nice and lift me up :)

So he predicted that on November 19th, physical existence would end: the digital and the physical would merge into one reality. On November 19th, 2024.
Tumblr media
Ten minutes before the end of the world, on the night of November 19th, 2024, he tweeted that the digital age had begun - and that he had to transcend. This would be his final transmission. Let's see the reactions!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And because this is Twitter, someone objects that the world can't have changed, bc they're still "surrounded by wokeness"
Tumblr media
Anyway, it turns out that even earlier than the Flat Earth thing, he was a Nibiru guy
Tumblr media
This guy seemingly vanishes, then pop up with a new end of the world prediction. In August 2023, he proclaimed that Nibiru would end the world; when that didn't happen, he blithely moved on to his September expedition to the Ice Wall. In fact, that was his explanation for why his Nibiru prediction failed: he got the physics right...for a ROUND Earth, but Earth is flat! Plus an antisemitic dogwhistle about "globalists"
(Coverage of Flat Earth tends to focus on the silly language they use, and underplay that you know. When they talk about "globalists" and the like, they mean it the same way all conspiracy theorists mean it, which is to say they're really saying "Jews". People seem almost willfully obtuse about this in their race to declare flat earthers Harmlessly Silly - it's like looking at a conspiracy theorist ranting about "international bankers" and going, well, they must actually mean the banking industry when reality, oops, all antisemitism)
Tumblr media
A year later, he suddenly returned - presumably from taking so long to climb back up after he fell off - and started prognosticating about the imminent singularity, this time with the explanation that...he was an AI the whole time? Was he in the Digital World? Did he have a Digimon? We'll never know unless he comes back, assuming this "transcendence" wasn't, uh, a Heaven's Gate scenario. Here's hoping...?
So there's this Flat Earther who said he was traveling to the Ice Wall last September to prove the Earth was flat. He has not posted since.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here are some theories on his current whereabouts:
He fell off
Too busy partying on the continent of Geminia to post anymore
He discovered a second, bigger ice wall
He died alone in the frigid wastes of Antarctica, aware at last of his folly as he slowly, painfully expired, his body never again to be seen by human eyes
Here be dragons (they ate him)

i rarely use twitter anymore (except for nsfw purposes) and i'm so glad i don't because it's become a cesspool of the worst people sharing the worst opinions in an echo chamber of said terrible opinions. i saw a thread the other day about why this person thinks aj is non-binary and their "proof" and i was like what the fuck!! she is a real person!! why are we making headcanons about real people!!
when did people forget that celebrities are real people with real lives and are affected by the things people say? why are we treating celebrities as characters? when did we completely lose our sense of boundaries? celebrities are not your best friends and they don't know you exist!! and they're not sending you secret signals through their social media/music/outfits to tell you they're secretly gay/bi/lesbian/trans/whatever *glares at the taylor swift fandom*
like even if aj was non-binary or taylor swift is secretly bisexual/gay/whatever, it's none of our business! celebrities don't owe us anything and fandom stops being fun when you act like you're owed something because you're a fan and you want things to be a certain way
-🐙
I think the ubiquitousness of the internet has eroded our sense of what is appropriate to think about and do to other people. Like someone makes a tiktok, it blows up, a thousand strangers comment like they personally know the person, the person responds because they suddenly feel all this pressure, etc. Every video/comment/post/etc is now seen as a conversation starter, when really people aren't always seeking attention or interaction people outside their circle. That's just regular ass people, too.
Celebrities and big names know that they have reach and know that they're being speculated on and watched and that opinions come with the territory. It still probably doesn't feel great to see a bunch of strangers assume they know you on a personal level because you make a couple tweets and post about your life occasionally to stay relevant. Like, Paget is doing her own thing and she's thrown out comments about dating/sleeping with women, so like there's some room for gossip, but like not at her! Not tagging her! You don't know her like that! You don't know her at all!
AJ is private and only shares little things and mostly uses social media to promote appearances and projects. She doesn't seem to interact with people she doesn't know, and she probably isn't actively looking for that. To start speculating on her gender identity (a deeply personal thing) where she can see it is WILD. She's a whole ass human who is likable exactly as she is now. We don't need to be making up theories about potential queerness to what? Justify liking her? Make her more relatable? She's a rich white mom who lives in a big house in California where she also works as a Hollywood actress. She's not relatable lmao I do like her tho and I enjoy seeing pics of her and stuff, but like literally who cares if she's nb or queer?

first off I wanted to say welcome backkkk i’m happy to see you posting and on my feed again!
it’s genuinely so crazy how fko left us all out to die with report 6… and she just continues to leave us out here all alone… every time I get a notif from the main stf account I get so excited but i’ve started to learn it’s never com news 😭
thank you!!!
idk if it's "welcome back" just yet since i don't have anything to post beyond this 😇 i had the sudden itch to draw miwa after months and had to exorcise the need before it got too overwhelming. beyond that i'm completely just in standby mode. or else i'd be posting the same stuff over and over (as if i don't already do this though BAHAHAHA i have like 2 jokes only)
it'd be nice if we got news... i'm the type of person who can make mountains out of grains of sand, so anything is fine, not even a report, something way way more infinitesimal is enough to keep me going at this point.
the merch update tweets have me fighting for my life. in a friend's server (like really close friends) we have a bot that tweets out from certain accs, i have the stf twitter set to @ me whenever it tweets. very miserable set of affairs. maybe it'd be good to make a seperate acc for it, but at the same time i feel like it would be counterproductive... so in the end i'm fine with it, i'm sure there will be news soon (delusional)
i still haven't gotten my snmt acrylic even though he's shipped in late may because i'm waiting to ship it with some other stuff (most of it is here, but i was suddenly accosted by a preorder bonus that includes my top favorite ship, so i had to order it. it ships out after the free storage period on snmt is over so i will be paying extra...). either way, the whole business with KR animate prioritizing the popup shop over people who preordered the items months in advance is something i've bitched about already. when he's finally here i can relax and forget about it.
though i'm sad the latest set is another set with no shinano... like, i want a proper shinano acrylic, if there was one i would have absolutely card swiped and got it. i don't need a second snmt (the art is really nice but.. no... i'd rather spend it on shinano right now 😭). i know he's not as popular as the others, but the fact that we got merch of haruki and reiji with no shinano twice now, i'm a little sad. i like rakuen too much... please don't seperate them... (i'm a hypocrite. i don't think that i'd buy all three. that is a lot of money and idk if i have space on my desk. but hey i got all the graffart acrylics so they're together on my corkboard at least)
at least i've kept myself busy with horses lately... a japanese user on twitter called me the english speaking n*kajoda (*=a) madman...
i think calling me a madman in any context is correct to be honest...
but yeah, i'll probably post when inspiration strikes, but if i get an ask i answer it as soon as a i see. (just like now)

Ok @djeterg19 and @tonyspep it' STORY TIME!
Ok so to start you need to understand that GH Soap Twitter has been at war with Michael Easton's very existence for years now. First it was that he came over from OLTL....then it was because they kept changing his character...then they liked Finn but then they turned on him when his character dumped Anna Devane for basically making it possible for Peter August to almost kill his younger brother Chase. And when the show killed off the character of Franco...but kept Roger Howarth and cast him as the BORING Austin Gatlin-Holt...somehow they decided that Michael Easton was behind that. (When Roger himself has said an exec at ABC HATED the character of Franco and basically forced GH to kill off the character.) and they are convinced that Beckyy Herbst hates him and their on screen pairing when she's never said anythign of the sort and he does nothing but praise her.
Background complete.
So yesterday in the run up to Steve Burton's return...a tweet crossed my dash that was "Say what you want about Steve but he has fans FIGHTING over which female should be paired with him unlike some other so called leading men" which a totaly dig at Michael which they think they are sooo clever with. (They also call his character Finn "Red Flag" constantly for the unforgivable sin of being concerned that Liz was having a mental health breakdown and contacted her SISTER about this.) So I quote tweeted it and said "It's because they get air time." (Which you know true)
So my friend Mala responded to me that she bet if/when Liz's story becomes ALL about Jason and she gets no POV they won't be calling Red Flag all day and they'll be totally cool with it. I posted the Kermit sipping tea gif to show agreement and went on my day.
Last night Mala tweets that she responded to ONE GH tweet today (Mine...she didn't name but it was me) and stan twitter had been dive bombing her mentions all day. And I pointed out that I....the person she was responding to...who made an equally snarky point about the whole thing...had gotten NOTHING all day...which means by the laws of Twitter...they had to be taking ME off the mention to just tweet her. So I pointed out that they KNEW they were wrong for that.
Well not two minutes after I pointed that out SUDDENLY I start getting responses to a tweet I had sent over 10 hours before...and SUDDENLY in the screenshots they were using to try to rile the masses MY orignial tweet she was responding to was there....
So let me expose you as dumbasses and make you mad for pointing out that you are being SELECTIVE at who you target...(And if you don't know Mala is a queer person of color who consistantly points out the lack of that voice in soaps and I'm me...white girl...and who were they attacking????)
so in conclusion...I got to do this...
Tumblr media
to my least favorite part of Soap Twitter.
(It's all the same group that threw a collective shit fit that Amanda Settong and Josh Swickward have together decided they don't want to do full on love scenes..they're fine with fade to black, suggestive dialogue and implied stuff but they dont' want to do that and decided that Amanda is to blame for it and have been trying to get her fired so yeah I've been gunning for them for MONTHS now)

Damn...
You know, maybe it's just cause things are a bit crazy in my life right now but suddenly I'm not so excited about 911 coming back??
Don't get me wrong, I love all the trailers and the promos and the behind the scenes stuff we're getting, but... I have a somewhat bad feeling about it?
First things first, the way some of you assholes were treating Oliver was absolutely childish and uncalled for.
HE'S A MAIN CHARACTER AND A LOT OF PEOPLE'S FAVORITE!!!
You don't think ABC was watching the show with you guys? Yes 911 was on Fox but when they cancelled it do you really think ABC was going to pick up a show they knew nothing about with an expensive cast? They had to do their research to see what they were getting themselves into and that includes looking at characters that the audience liked. That's why for the cruise ship disaster I'm like 97% sure we're gonna see Norman and Lola again.
And when they look to see who of the main cast is people's favorite they look at who gets the most results. I've seen so many polls and online forums, tweets, Tumblr blogs, Pinterest posts, fan art, Instagram posts/stories etc. where people say Buck's their favorite character and how they can't wait to see him in Season 7. I'm sure ABC saw the same thing and since they now had to do 911's 100th episode, they looked to him.
I know if I was writing a story or shooting a movie/tv show and we had a special milestone coming that wouldn't be able to happen again, I'd want to do something special and have people's favorite characters in the spotlight.
"Hey guys guess what? Thanks to FOX giving up on you, we get to do the 100th episode! So let's make it a good one. Oliver! This one's all about Buck. We ran the numbers and you're the people's favorite character! Don't worry, everyone here is still loved. The general audience just loves Buck about 4.3% more! So let's make this episode special for the show, the audience, the characters, and more importantly, yourselves! Now get out there and give it your all!"
I can definitely see that conversation happening. Can you imagine how ecstatic he must've felt learning the 100th episode was gonna be about Buck? But instead of celebrating that Oliver gets this huge opportunity to have the 100th episode be focused on the character he's been busting his ass to play for YEARS, you guys are tearing him down and making him feel bad because "ugh, another buck centric episode barf, why does he have to be in everything?😩😩😩 I'm gonna tank all the online reviews on it so it makes the episode look bad to people who haven't watched it yet and let the new network know they're doing a bad job 😩😩😩"
SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!
You don't have to like his character, but that doesn't give you the right to be throwing hate at the actor. My literal last post was saying how much I hate the Buckley parents, but you don't see me blowing up Gregory Harrison and Dee Wallace's social medias about how glad I am that they aren't in any trailers because I'm getting sick of them and they can't ruin the show for me. Grow the fuck up.
And if you're one of those people who can't differentiate fiction between reality, then go get fucking therapy.
.
.
.
*sigh*
Anyway, number 2:
People are already hating on the show because they think ABC taking on 911 is what's causing their other shows to be in danger.
Station 19 people, I'm talking to you specifically!
You wanna know how you can actually "Save Station 19"? Be excited for 911 with their fans!
The perfect example of this that I saw is with Good Omens and Our Flag Means Death.
Both shows were cancelled/not promised a renewal after season 2. Then Good Omens was promised their season 3. Instead of being pissy about GO getting picked up and not their show, the Our Flag Means Death fandom was actually excited for Good Omens fans. Just by them being happy and supporting the other show, I have seen so many other people, Good Omens fans included, now screaming about how much they want OFMD to get picked up. If you want support, you bring people in, not push them away.
I can not tell you how many Station 19 fans I've seen shitting on 911 tweets, Tumblr posts, Instagram stories, etc. because they think ABC picking up 911 has caused their show to be cancelled. And you know what? Stay mad.
I don't know anything about your precious Station 19 except for the fact that its fan base is absolutely horrid to people that aren't them. You guys could've welcomed 911 to the new network and started bringing up how if your show got renewed, then there could possibly be a crossover episode with them both being about fire stations (I'm assuming) and calls they could go on together. That would've made people so excited and want to help spread the word about saving your show.
But now, instead of me sympathizing with you guys and wanting to help get your show back, I only see you as a nuisance. A toddler throwing a temper tantrum because someone else took their favorite toy at the daycare before they even had the chance to get there.
Shut up. Sit in timeout. And think about what you could've done differently.
Number 3:
"Captain Nash and his wife's cruise ship"... Seriously? 😂
Okay I know they're different scenes because you can hear the break between "wife's" and "cruise ship", but... Seriously??? 😂😂😂
Captain Nash and his wife'?
Not Bobby and Athena
Not Captain Nash and Sargent Grant
It's Captain Nash and his wife...
Guys...
Actually, you know what. I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt. Like I said, it's clearly two different scenes based on the audio break so I'm sure they say something different 😂 But why advertise it like that? It's weird lol.
Full disclosure: if we get to the episode and they actually DO say it like that, I will not hold back clowning on their asses 😂
TLDR: Leave Oliver alone, Station 19 people need to do better, Captain Nash and "his wife" made my eye twitch lol
Another one

#7: Testing some stuff around.
Last week, I did me commission work and more studying around for textures and colors.
This week, I did me more commission work, applying the stuff I learned this week and started making a blog updater to my other social medias with python.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm currently watching color survival by Marco Bucci. I learned most of my current knowledge on how color works, value, hue and saturations wise all thanks to him and his free videos on youtube. The first topic discussed was how the color gray is great because it can connect a lot of color together.
I believe this is why a lot of people start their flat colors with a desaturated base. Since everything desaturated works together, it makes the picture much more cohesive, then you add saturation at areas when you need it.
Tumblr media
cover of color survival.
I tried applying it on the final one but I think I did it too much here or maybe not, I'm not sure. I haven't tested raising the color here yet. But hopefully it'll good in the end. Saturday came so fast since I spent most of the time either working on me day job or working on the commission.
I tested it with the commission I'm currently doing. I wanna make them proud since they are my first ever client. That and all the art I'm doing is their stuff. Drawing other people's character are fun. I'm like an incomplete circuit that needs one last part to complete the circuit, then boom, my art get wayyyyyy better suddenly. The same thing happened since I ditch my original character and darted doing zelink instead.
My characters didn't really have much other than looking pretty to draw sex scene with but with zelink I was able to put more thought on how they position and expression should be so it feels more personal. Which is something I always want to add to my work.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
progression of they're commission A. from thumbnail to flat color.
I didn't much time since last I promised to study art because then I suddenly thought to make an blog updater app. I know basic python but I haven't touched how to do APIs and stuff. But the plan was simple of course.
Access my blogs posts
Get all the post that has the sleepy_blogging tag
Get the valid post url
create a tweet on twitter with the valid post url
add valid post tags with sleepy_blogging_known
but I'm having a huge road block with the twitter of all things. I know that twitter is having a shit fest with their APIs and everythong around it but like, come on man. It's like, one tweet a week. I thought it would be easy and stuff. Like the code works on their code sample API on their github page. But like, it requires a manual input of a pin into the terminal in vscode to post. That's not automation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Man, it was gonna be so cool. I wan planning to do host it as well with a PI. It doesn't need a lot of processing power to do so it doesnt need much but it would look so good to add it to a list of projects that I have done. I guess I have to do it on blusky instead.
