As a hybrid, San was restricted from going to a lot of places without a human “owner.” And despite the fact that over the last ten years hybrid laws have started to become more lenient, it still had stopped him from doing a lot of things in his life. He could remember the day the government decided to allow hybrids into grocery stores on their own, his hybrid mother nearly crying as she watched the tv. He was a child then, he couldn’t understand what a huge accomplishment it was to hybrids all over the world. He understood now, as an adult, and he cherished what little freedoms they let hybrids have.
But with you, a human lover, by his side, so many more opportunities were open to him now.
You both had agreed early on in the relationship that you would sign off as San’s “owner,” though the title left a bitter taste in your mouth. You saw hybrids as equals, because that’s what they were, really. Equals. The main difference being their animal traits and their instincts, which even then weren’t very different. Sure, dog hybrids tended to get distracted by balls easier, and yeah cat hybrids tended to love sun naps. But to some people, well… maybe they needed a harsh shove down an escalator.
A year into your relationship now, you wanted to surprise San for all the hard work he’d been doing. Between his job as an assistant in a floral shop and online classes, San had been running on empty for a couple of weeks now. Exhausted from his job only to sit in front of his computer for several hours straight was really starting to wear on him, and try as you might, there wasn’t much you could do to improve his mood. Which is why today, on his day off, you broke the news to him.
As your sleepy kitty continued to snooze away in bed, sleek black tail wrapped around the blankets bundled up in his arms, you snuck out to the kitchen to start making breakfast. Pulling out a pan, you started to take out the ingredients for some kimchi pancakes. As you began to cook, your mind wandered to the plans you had made for today. A smile tugged at your lips, a feeling of eager excitement taking place in your chest. You knew San was going to be ecstatic, imagining the way his eyes would widen and his ears would go straight up. You couldn’t wait to see his reaction.
As you finished plating the pancakes you made your way to the bedroom, jittery with happiness as you took a seat on the edge of the bed. You ran your fingers through your boyfriend’s black hair, gently scratching behind his soft ears. He shifted, hugging the blankets closer as he let out a quiet mrrrp as his eyes slowly fluttered open. You couldn’t help but coo at how adorable he looked, face swollen with sleep as a little pout formed on his lips.
“Mm, what time is it?”
“It’s a little after 7am.” His brows furrowed together, a little whine escaping his throat as he buried his face into the soft pillow beneath him.
“Why are you waking me up so early on my day offf,” he whined, his words muffled. You couldn’t help but giggle, your fingers running through his soft hair. He leaned into your touch, the slight vibrations of tired purrs could be felt in your hand, pulling a gentle smile from you. “Can’t I sleep a little more? Please?”
“I know, baby, you’re tired. But I made plans for us today and I promise you’re going to love them.” With a groan, San pulled himself into a sitting position, hair mussed up and eyes still closed.
“But I was just gonna stay in today…”
You gave a hum in response. You knew your boyfriend loved staying in, as an introvert he didn’t mind spending days locked away in the house. He gave you another tired pout, but this is one time you knew you couldn’t cave in. He’d thank you later, you knew that much. “Sorry, Sannie, but trust me, okay? Breakfast is already made and waiting for you.”
His tail thumped against the blankets, clearly unhappy about the fact he had to get out of the very comfy bed. Cute, you thought. You gave an exaggerated sigh, looking down at your lap with a pout. “I mean, I guess we don’t have to go to the zoo today…” You peeked up through your lashes, noticing the way San’s eyes suddenly snapped open and his ears were instantly on alert.
His mouth fell open. “Th-The zoo?”
You smiled. “Yeah, I already bought us tickets. The zoo opens at 9:30.” For a moment the feline didn’t move, frozen in his spot as the information registered in his mind. Then, you were tackled, nearly shoved off the bed as he wrapped his arms around you. You gave a surprised squeak which very quickly turned into a laugh as he pulled you against his chest; nuzzling your neck like his very life depended on it, his tail wrapping around your waist as the sounds of his purrs increased tenfold. So much for being tired.
“Y/N! Oh my god, I– The zoo?! I get to finally go to a zoo!! Thank you, thank you, tha–“ You managed to pull away enough to land your lips against his, silencing him. He was all too eager to kiss back, his hands cradling your face, pouring all his passion and emotions into action.
“You don’t need to thank me, Sannie. I know how badly you’ve always wanted to go to the zoo. With you working so hard lately I figured it would be a nice surprise for you.” San’s eyes turned glassy as you cradled his face, thumbs brushing over his cheeks. “I love you so much, and seeing you overworked these past few weeks have been hard. Hopefully today will help you relax and unwind.”
You felt the soft fur of his tail brush against your wrist, watching as the hybrid turned and kissed the inside of your palm. San had always expressed the want of going to a zoo, watching wildlife documentaries with such fascination, and you always felt bad that you hadn’t had the time to take him sooner. Because hybrids weren’t allowed to go to a zoo without a human companion. With you and San both being busy, on days off the two of you would usually relax at home or, if anything, go to a park or beach to unwind. The zoo was on the other side of the city, a long drive for you two, which was why it wasn’t always the first option to come up for activities.
“I don’t care, I’m going to thank you anyway,” San said, breaking you out of your thoughts. He kissed your cheek, then your other cheek, then your nose, and finally forehead. His eyes practically sparkled, filled with so much love for you. “Thank you so much for doing this for me.”
“Of course, Sannie.” You pressed a kiss back to his nose, and finally his forehead. “I love you so much, I just want you to be happy. I’m sorry I couldn’t take you sooner.”
He shook his head. “Don’t you dare apologize. I’m just happy I get to go today. With you.”
Your heart melted. “Yeah,” you breathed, looking at him with love in your eyes. “With you.”
~
To say San was excited would have been an understatement.
San was practically bouncing in his seat the entire ride, the end of his tail wagging slowly in happiness. Before you had met San you hadn’t known that cats could sometimes wag their tails in happiness, thinking that they only did it when annoyed. It was cute, really. As soon as he parked the car he practically jumped out, trying his best not to dash all the way to the entrance. It reminded you of a cat when it got the zoomies. (Which San has had before, on several accounts. It was always quite amusing when it happened, even if it did end with him giving a sheepish grin and an embarrassed apology.) His excitement was practically palpable as he held your hand, gushing about all the animals he couldn’t wait to see.
Cute.
As you showed the booth employee your entrance tickets, you looked over San. He was wearing a denim shirt and pants, looking so soft and comfortable as he bounced on his toes, so full of energy and excitement. A little house cat excited to be on an adventure. As soon as you were given the clear the employee handed you a wristband for you to fill out. Once you wrote down your name and phone number, you put it on San’s wrist before grabbing his hand, threading your fingers through his. “Are you ready?”
San’s smile grew bigger. “Yeah.”
~
“Y/N! Look!!” The hybrid pointed to his right, eyes wide as he focused on the animal in the distance. You were currently halfway though the primate exhibit and San finally got to see a monkey. He instantly raised his camera, taking several pictures of the lazying animal. As he lowered his phone, he looked over his shoulder at you. “Do you see it?” He had the biggest smile on his face, and it had been so long since you’d seen him this happy. It was a nice change, and you were already making plans to take him to the aquarium next week. “Y/N, do you see the monkey?”
“Yeah,” you said, looking at San as you fought down a smile. “I’m looking at one right now.”
He blinked before he registered your words, giving a pout, his ears falling flat for a second as he rolled his eyes. “Meanie,” he mumbled, and you laughed.
“Sorry.” You kissed his cheek, his ears flicking back up into their normal position. “Yeah, I see the monkey. What kind is it?” Yeah, you knew there was a sign a few feet away that gave you the name of the primate and some fun facts about the species, but why would you read that when San could tell you all about the the animal? His face lit up, and he began to spew several random facts about chimpanzees, gesturing wildly as he gave you all the information he had on them.
He was such a nerd.
You wouldn’t want him any other way.
~
“Giraffes!” He ran over to the railing, looking over the tall ungulates with a peaceful expression. San stopped to watch them for a while, watching their every move as they ate some leaves off the lower-hanging branches from the trees in their exhibit. “They’re so graceful,” he murmured, resting his chin on his hands. You ran your hand across his broad back, let it come to a rest at the base of his neck where you played with the hairs hanging there. It brought some purrs out of San as the two of you stood in silence. Resting your head on his shoulder, you savored the peaceful moment.
“Even from this distance, they look so tall,” you said.
“They average around 16 feet if I recall, with the males reaching up to 18 feet,” San instantly replied. “They’re so pretty.”
“Are you having fun?” You knew you didn’t need to ask, but you still had the need to. San looked at you, eyes brimming with love and affection. No matter how times he would look at you like that, it would never fail to make your heart skip a beat.
“Yeah, I really am.” He reached for your free hand, giving it a squeeze. “Thank you, Y/N. So much.”
“Of course. Anything for my kitten.”
The smile San gave was blinding.
~
It was finally time to go through the exhibit San was looking forward to most. While he loved the bird exhibit (the way his eyes got so wide the entire time was beyond amusing, you had so many pictures of his dilated pupils and several videos of him chattering at the birds) and was fascinated with the canine exhibit (he thought the fennec foxes were the cutest things around and even decided to name one Wooyoung after his fox-hybrid friend), nothing could compare to his excitement for the feline exhibit.
He took his time with every animal.
The tigers were up first. San, eyes wide, went up to the railing and watched in fascination as the giant feline groomed his mate. They were beautiful, both Siberian tigers, one of them being white. It was such a contrast to the other, a pale white against a light orange. “Did you know tigers are the largest of the felines?” You did, but you pretended you didn’t so San could continue with his info drop. “There’s nine subspecies, but only six remain today. These guys, Amur tigers, are the biggest of the tigers.”
“They’re beautiful.”
“Aren’t they? Tigers are amazing. They’re so big, I wish I could cuddle with them.” You chuckled—of course San would want to cuddle them, but then again you wouldn’t hesitate to cuddle with them either.
Next were the snow leopards. These were probably San’s favorites. They were silly little animals, the smallest of the big cats as he informed you. They were playful, and quite the bouncers. They were unfortunately asleep up in their little house, San pouting at that, but you promised him you’d bring him back here next month. He lit up at that, giving you the biggest kitten eyes in the process, and you swore he was about to tear up at your promise.
The jaguars, too, were asleep, and San gave a quiet whine. “It’s okay, next time,” you said.
He nodded with determination, though his pout didn’t fall. “Next time.”
Caracals were next, and you couldn’t help but coo at the the tufts on the ends of their ears. This was one feline you did know quite a big about. While they weren’t your favorite, they did remind you of San. You told him as much, and he raised his eyebrows in surprise. “They remind you of me?”
“Yeah! They’re able to jump up to 10 feet in the air! And I know you love to jump, too.” He at least had the audacity to look sheepish, cheeks turning pink as he looked away with a pout. San loved to jump, so much so that his friends had banded together and made a jump-ban specifically when San was around. You didn’t mind it though, even encouraging his behavior. You’d see him eye a low-hanging branch on trees during walks, and you’d give a sly smile. “I bet you can’t touch that branch,” you’d challenge, and his eyes would narrow, a smirk on his face as he would instantly prove you wrong by leaping into the air to swat at the leaves. It was one of the many reasons that made him fall for you.
The pumas were after the caracals, and thankfully they weren’t asleep. Like the tigers, they were grooming each other, or simply staring over the crowd, giving large yawns. Despite not being very active, they still held San’s attention, drinking in every detail of the beautiful animals. You knew by the end of the day your phone would be full of mostly San, but you couldn’t help it. He was so enamored with all the animals, how could you not take so many photos and videos of him?
Next up were cheetahs, which happened to be your favorite. This time it was your turn to nerd out, spouting off fact after fact of them to San, you happily listened to you as he watched the feline pace back and forth in front of the fence. He squeezed your hand when you scratched your cheek, apologizing for ranting, but he shook his head. “No, please, go on,” he smiled. “I wanna hear more.”
San, ever the supportive boyfriend, never failed to make your heart flutter. You knew he knew all the information you were telling him, but still he coaxed it out of you, happy to see you enjoying the trip here as much as he was. At the end of your four minute long rant, you turned to San with a smile. “And while they may be my favorite species of cats, you still hold the title of being my favorite cat.”
In return, you never failed to make San’s heart flutter either.
~
Finally, the last one was the lion exhibit. You two had lucked out, a total of three lions were lazying around right near the glass, so San got a real nice close up of the cats. A look of wonder crossed his face as he crouched down, face nearly pressed against the glass. Unsurprisingly, San had a deep love for felines. They left him in awe every time they appeared on documentaries. Perhaps it was because he was a simple house cat, finding his larger, distant cousins simply awe-inspiring.
One particular lioness, the one closest to the glass, pressed her paw up against the glass, and San’s eyes went comically wide. Without hesitation he pressed his thumb against the glass, comparing the size of it to the lion’s large beans. “Woah,” he breathed, and you had to agree. You crouched down and pressed your hand to the glass, amazed by how small it looked compared to the fuzzy paw. You knew big cats were, well, big, but it never failed to surprise you by just how big they were. Until you saw it in person, it was always hard to imagine the scale of the cats.
As the day went on the crowd began to thin out, and you both knew that the zoo would be closing soon. The date would be ending, much to San’s disappointment. Before leaving though the two of you hit the ice cream shop. While they didn’t have chocolate mint, San ended up going with regular vanilla, you doing the same to match him. As the two of you sat at the table, munching away on the delicious treat, San reached over and grabbed your hand.
“I know I’ve said it so many times already, but thank you. Today was… it was amazing. The zoo was everything I thought it would be. And it was all the more special because you were by my side the entire time. You planned this, just for me, and I can’t tell you how much that means to me.”
You squeezed his hand, giving him a soft smile. “Oh, Sannie. I told you, you don’t need to thank me. Today was wonderful, I had so much fun finally visiting the zoo with you. Seeing you so happy, it was the break you needed. We made so many good memories today, and I hope to make more with you next month when we come back.”
San gave a big smile, dimples popping out and fangs peeking out. He looked so happy, a light blush dusting his cheeks. “I love you, jagiya.” Your heart soared at the pet name, this time your cheeks heating up a little.
“I love you, too, jagiya,” you replied quietly, and San beamed.
After you both finished your ice cream, you headed down to the shops before they closed. As San looked over at the snow globes, you quickly grabbed a snow leopard plushie and ran to the cashier to buy it, shoving it in your bag seconds before San turned and declared he was purchasing a tiger snow globe. You couldn’t help but aww at the cute little globe, watching as snow descended over the two tigers sitting on a rock.
“Do you want to get take-out tonight?” you asked as you both exited the zoo. San’s stomach rumbled loudly, yours doing so too. As yummy as the ice cream was, it hadn’t been very filling, and the only thing you two had eaten was the pancakes from breakfast.
“Could we get bulgogi…? Or mandoo?” You thought for a second.
“I could go for those, yeah.” San let out a happy mrrp sound, dimples popping out once more as he got into the car. The drive home was mostly the two of you talking about your favorite moments of the day, and San gushing about how seeing the animals in person was an amazing experience that he would never forget.
After you two got home and ate dinner, you both showered and crawled into bed; San snaking his arm around your waist as he pulled you close, pressing a kiss to your hair as his tail made its way to its usual spot wrapped around your thigh. “Thank you again for today,” he murmured, voice thick with sleep. After such a long day out, you weren’t surprised by how exhausted he was. You smiled, knowing there was one more surprise you had for him.
Reaching down over the side of the bed, you pulled up the plush you had bought from earlier. “I got this for you.” San gave a gasp, quickly pulling the plushie into his arms.
“Oh, she’s so cute! She’s so soft, too! Oh, I love her so much!” He instantly began to pet the plush, low purrs filling the silence as he cooed over his new baby. Eventually he began to gently knead it, a true sign he did, in fact, love it. “She’s sleeping with us tonight,” he declared, not asked. It made you laugh, turning over to face him and patted the space between you two.
“She can sleep right here tonight.”
He tucked the little plush under the blankets, as if she really was his child, and it made emotions swirl in your chest. Before you could stop yourself, the words came tumbling from your mouth. “You’d be such a good dad.” San stopped his actions, looking up at you with wide eyes. It made you flustered, tripping over your words. “I-I mean, like, I don’t want kids right now, or anytime soon, I’m nowhere near ready for that, but I just– I think you’d make a great dad,” you rambled, looking down at the plush with anxiety. You two had never talked about kids, but you just couldn’t help but think the hybrid would be such a soft dad.
“Thank you.” You peeked up at San, a bright smile on his face, his eyes turning into crescents. “I’m not ready for kids yet either, but… hearing you saying that, it helps quell any anxieties I had about it before. Maybe one day we can sit down and talk about it, but until then…” He placed a kiss on the plushie’s head, and then placed a kiss on your lips. “My only babies are gonna be Byeol and these plushes.” His eyes slipped shut, a content sigh leaving his lips. “But you’d be a wonderful parent, too. I know it.”
Warmth bloomed in your chest as you closed your eyes, visions of a family one day playing in your mind. “Thank you, Sannie. Goodnight, my love.”
“Goodnight, jagiya. I love you, so, so much.”
“I love you, too.”
The two of you fell asleep, your new baby tucked in between you two, a souvenir that you both would keep in bed for many years in the future.
A/N: aaaand that's it! have a good day~ please leave some feedback if you liked it~ ♥︎

The Reunion
Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley X Male sleepy reader
Maybe a series?? Not sure, let me know if you want me to continue this.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Growing up with M/n, Simon knew how much it took to wake M/n up, it was damn near impossible. He slept all the time.
For the little while Simon went to school he met a wonderful boy with H/c hair and E/c eyes, droopy eyes that always looked tired, a slightly pouty frown when he rested his face. Simon didn’t understand why he was so tired all the time, but he did know that he would become the boys personal pillow. M/n slept. Constantly. To say he was always tired was an understatement.
He slept anytime and anywhere, falling asleep in the span of 5 seconds. In class, on the bleachers, a bench, a tree branch, on Simon, you name it, he slept there. They consisted of small naps, normally lasting the whole class hour until someone woke him and he had to go to his next class, that someone was always Simon. Simon and he grew very close, despite the sleepy boy rarely being awake, he trusted Simon, a lot.
When Simon stopped showing up to school, M/n noticed. He noticed more than anyone else (mainly because Sinon had no friends other than M/n.) M/n was worried. He didn’t exactly have a phone to text him with, and he doubted Simon had one either. He missed him. He slept more and more, sometimes skipping school just to sleep, hoping that when he woke up Simon would be back next to him, his head resting on his shoulder. But that never happened. He never saw Simon again.
That was until he joined the military. Shocking, I’m aware, the boy who slept in class and just barely passed school due to his friends, joining into the military.. yep. He heard Simon talking about it one time he wasn’t asleep, he guessed Simon thought he was. M/n was aware that Simon didn’t have a great home life, but when je heard his family had been slaughtered and he was missing, his mind went into overdrive. ‘What happened to him?’ ‘Is he okay’ ‘how did this happen’ he thought everything at once and he didn’t know how to get an answer.
He wasn’t in the 141, no. He wasn’t THAT good, he still slept a lot. His code name eventually becoming ‘Sleepy’ he met Simon again when the 141 requested he be sent over for a mission, he was the top ranking of his ‘class’ so it was only fitting that when they requested the strongest, sleepy was sent. They weren’t impressed when he showed up though, the uninterested pout he had at all times, his slight eye bags, well it wasn’t a surprise he was called sleepy. Ghost.. well Ghost caught his attention.
Those brown doe eyes, dark but also soft under that mask. He’d recognize those eyes anywhere. Wasn’t Simon dead? He lost hope after he heard the news, being killed after being kidnapped, but that didn’t exactly cause him to just up and leave the military. You work in years of 4 you can’t just up and leave anyway. Just because he slept didn’t mean that he wasn’t perceptive. He noticed everything, even the slight tense of Ghosts muscles when he introduced himself.
“I’m M/n L/n. Code name: Sleepy. Pleasure to be working with the best of the best.” He said, his tone was firm but also sluggish, it was clear that he didn’t want to be there. Ghost knew he’d much rather be sleeping.
After he was shown where he’d be staying, he walked up to Prices office again. Knocking on the door with a “Captain, it’s sleepy.” “Come in” price repeated to him voice muffled by the door between them. Opening the door he noticed Simon, ghost, standing to the side of him. “I hope I’m not interrupting?” M/n said with a small raise of his brow. “Of course not, would’ve let you in if you were.” Price said, glancing at the man in the Skull mask before looking back at the man. “You need anything?” “I did, however I’ll just come back at a later time when it’s just you in here.” M/n said and looked at Ghost. “I can step out.” Ghost said, standing up and walking past him. That voice.. the same just deeper, gruffer, he missed hearing it.
“Could’ve said goodbye Simon.” He let slip. Freezing when he realized he said it out loud. He felt the aura in the room change, the sound of his shoes coming to an abrupt stop. Prices voice hitching in his throat, thinking he let in a traitor no doubt.
“What did you just call me.”
this love - teenage dad!itoshi sae x fem!reader
pairing: itoshi sae x fem!reader
genre: teenage dad!sae au, fluff, angst, tiny smut
wc: 4,600+
a/n: i started writing this last May, when i was having relentless teenage dad!sae thoughts lol. sae might be OOC in some parts. but honestly, i don't think he's a bad person and i believe that he will mature as he grows old, which is reflected in this story through his character development.
hope you enjoy and feedback/likes/reblogs will be greatly appreciated!
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/5f82641082b046b43e81822924331373/94e95d8b734c1c35-17/s540x810/524a9fb53f555413bf14f209395f07140a984e75.jpg)
"this love is good this love is bad this love is alive back from the dead these hands had to let it go free and this love came back to me"
you and sae were childhood friends, living close to each other as neighbors for as long as you could remember. you also grew even closer to the entire itoshi family because you lost your parents in a car accident as a kid. and with your parents and sae's parents being family friends, they took care of you as your legal guardians since your parents' deaths.
during your first year in high school, he asked if you could be the soccer team's manager since you were smart, analytical, and organized. you agreed eagerly, excited to be up close to his and rin's exhilarating games that you've always loved.
eventually, the team's captain started making quite aggressive moves on you in secret. and you were getting more and more uncomfortable and afraid. until sae saved you one evening after practice and the both of you reported the captain, resulting to his expulsion.
after he walked you home that night, he made sure that you were feeling better before you parted ways. you were crying not only because the captain scared you, but also because of sae's kindness. you couldn't even imagine what would have happened if sae didn't come to save you.
the fall into sae started getting faster because of that incident. you've always had an inkling that you loved sae ever since you were both young. but you shrugged it off all this time, afraid that acting on it would ruin the friendship.
so you were astounded when sae confessed to you a month after the incident. he said that rin and his friends were so amazed by his courage when he saved you, so they relentlessly encouraged him to finally confess. they believed that if there's one man for you in this world, it's sae, your knight in shining armor, or cleats to be more precise.
after he poured out his feelings, you did the same. and the two of you got together rather pretty quickly, much to the delight of your family and friends.
to be honest, nothing much changed with your daily routine: he still picked you up in the morning so you could walk together to school, eating lunch together, he practices with the club after classes as you watch and take notes as the manager, walking home side-by-side after school. it's mostly the same, except for the hand-holding, the quick kisses, his thumb caressing the back of your hand as you walk together slowly, intending to savor each moment.
but of all the things or changes that happened as a result of being sae's girlfriend, your favorite one takes place every saturday morning. sae goes for a run at 5:30am and at around 7:00am, he quietly enters your home with the key you gave him. he takes a quick shower and gets some clothes from the pile he brought to your home days after becoming official. after he dresses up, he slowly snuggles next to you in bed and spoons you. given how much of a deep sleeper you were, you don't notice him right away until your nose picks up the insane combination of his body wash and shampoo. you're still sleepy but you can't help but turn around and hug him back, basking in his warmth and godly scent. then you two spend a chill and quiet weekend together. cooking, watching shows or movies, napping, and sae even helps you clean your house.
you were very happy together. even though he had to leave after getting scouted by Spain, you were happy and excited for him. but also sad of course because you were gonna miss him for sure. however, you did your best to hide that because if sae aimed to be the best striker in the world, you wanted to be the most supportive girlfriend in the world. you believed that that's what he deserves.
you both managed to do long-distance relationship until he had to return home to renew his passport.
he surprised you and his family, not telling any of you that he's coming home.
you were delighted to see him and spend time with him again.
he was still the same sae you knew, mostly. however, the more you were with him, the more you noticed that something's quite different about him. you didn't think much about it at first because he was still so loving, sweet, and touchy with you. but to others... he has now become rude and disrespectful. he always brought you along to his interviews and other scheduled stuff, and you felt shocked and disappointed by his words, by his answers to the press, and the way he carried himself.
afraid to get into a fight after yearning for his presence but also wanting to say something, you opted to gently reprimand him. sae said yes to your remarks but nothing really changed, which saddened you. the old sae always listened and obliged to you.
eventually, you witnessed his confrontation with rin, whom you have treated as your own younger brother. you were angry and devastated by sae's words to his sibling. you witnessed it from a far and you were on your way to them but your classmates started calling out to you for a project that you had to do together at someone's house, so you had no choice but to leave.
that night, after you left your groupmate's house, you went straight to the itoshi residence. you were fed up with sae and this new person he has become, and his fight with rin was the last straw. the sae you knew would never hurt and speak to his brother like that.
you went to sae's room and said your piece. sae denied to take responsibility for the change he went through, dismissing everything you said with "i'm just being honest. what can I do if I feel that way?"
you couldn't believe that instead of feeling remorsefuland apologizing, sae was being dismissive and even accused you of overreacting, which resulted to you feeling that he's gaslighting you.
you felt completely heartbroken, trembling as you cried. it's like you just got stabbed, and then the knife just keeps turning and turning very slowly. you felt that you had no choice but to break it off with him. his eyes widened and he quickly stopped you from removing the couple ring he gave you to commemorate your first month together. he begged you to stay but at the same time, he still didn't want to take accountability.
you removed the ring and walked out. you even thanked his parents for everything and apologized before leaving.
one night some weeks later, you heard a knock on your door and found sae there with his suitcase. it was a bit surprising to see him, but a part of you expected it. his flight back to Spain is in a few hours and you considered the possibility that despite the messy breakup, he would want to at least say goodbye to you personally. either to just bid farewell, or try to win you back.
you let him in and it was awkward, tension thick as hell in the air. he slowly closed the distance between you and seeing the familiar look in his eyes, you knew what he wanted.
after a short internal battle, you obliged and the two of you made love. sae thought that you've forgiven him and accepted the new him, happy to be back together again. but you clarified everything with a curt, "this is the last time." and with that, sae got his heart broken again. he tried to plead again just like before, but you retorted desperately, "don't make this harder than it already is, please. we're just having the same argument again and again. and it's clear that none of us is gonna let up. i'm tired, sae." and with that, he stared at you for a while with a look of shock, frustration, and pain. he quietly put on his clothes and dragged his suitcase. "goodbye, y/n." he mutters before opening your front door.
a couple of months later, you started having suspicions and went to the doctor. she confirmed that your hunch was correct, you are pregnant.
on your way home after the appointment, you did your best to keep yourself from trembling and crying. you also recalled what happened that night with sae.
sae has always come inside you, always, as the both of you were confident in the pills' effectiveness (and it just feels so much better that way). and so that night, he asked if he could come inside you like usual. you knew that you haven't been taking pills since your breakup with him, but you decided to just buy pills the morning after so you responded to him with a, "yes, you can" because the honest-to-god truth was that you just wanted to feel his warm liquid gush inside you one last time. however, you woke up very late as you didn't hear your alarm. you took your bicycle to rush to the nearby store to buy the pills and took them on the spot after you got out of the store. you had a feeling that it would be ineffective given that it's already past the timeframe, but you were still hoping.
back to the present, you kept reprimanding and blaming yourself over and over again, until you realized that you unconsciously brought yourself to the itoshi residence, which was quite near your own home.
you were about to continue walking home until rin, who was doing his daily jog routine, called out to you. he ran to you and was surprised to see your pale face and how hard you were trembling. he invited you inside their home urgently, but you asked first if his parents are there because you're not yet ready to face them and tell the truth.
rin assured you and said that his mom and dad will come home late. you obliged and went inside to drink some water and rest.
the news of your pregnancy was weighing on you so heavily that you were struggling to breathe. because of this struggle and the panic you've been enduring, you decided to tell rin the truth. he was dumbstruck and speechless as you finally cried.
you poured out all your worries: how would his parents react? how would sae react? would he accept the baby despite the breakup or ask you to get an abortion? how about your studies? your future?
rin suggested for you to tell his parents as soon as possible, as he was certain that they would support and take care of you and the baby. his words brought a sense of relief and you suddenly felt sleepy and exhausted from all the stress. he told you to get some good sleep, and you headed to sae's room because you realized how much you miss him.
you woke up later in the night and sae's parents were in the living room, relaxing after a tiring day of socializing with friends. they happily greeted you, saying that they're happy that you still visit them despite parting ways with their firstborn son.
rin who was sitting on the couch across his parents gave you a knowing yet assuring look, trying to make you remember his suggestion earlier.
you took a deep breath and apologized to them for the sudden news you were about to share. you emphasized your intent to keep the baby, regardless of what they or sae want.
to your surprise, they were happy to hear that they were about to have their first grandchild. sae's mom was even crying tears of joy. his dad said that you and the baby should live in their house and that you don't need to worry about money. they also suggested for you to delay entering college and focus on the pregnancy first. that would be better than entering college and then having to take a break once your tummy grows and labor is coming closer. this way, your entrance will be delayed but you will have an overall smooth college experience without interruption and judgment from others.
just like his mom, you were also shedding tears of joy now as you hear their reassuring words of support. you're lucky to have them as unofficial in-laws.
the next nine months were surreal. you were happy and grateful for all the support from the itoshi family and from your friends. but missing sae and fearing his reaction were constant part of your days, sometimes even causing you to burst in tears.
you asked your friends to absolutely keep the entire ordeal a secret from sae as you intended to tell him yourself at the right time. as much as you hated the fact that he had changed for the worse, you still wanted to support him in his sports career. him suddenly knowing that you're pregnant might derail his focus and entire career. or it might cause a new fight between the two of you. both of those possible scenarios would not be good for anyone.
three years later, sae came home for the first time since the breakup. he's not the type to make a fuss out of his arrival, so he simply arrived home.
his parents were astonished and reprimanded him for not notifying them in advance, but he nonchalantly replied that it's no big deal. he was embarrassed to show it, but he really missed his parents. his contract with Royale Youth mandated him to play for three years uninterrupted, so he couldn't come home until now.
you could hear them outside your and your son's room and you were practically frozen. you had no choice now but to tell sae everything.
they were near your door when his parents slowly told him—for a lack of better word—that they have a surprise for him in the guest room.
you held your son—who by the way is a carbon copy of sae—as the parents slowly opened the door.
before sae could react, your son ran to his grandparents as he squealed, "granma! granpa!"
your heart was palpitating so hard as you watched sae watch your son with wide eyes. you've never seen him this shocked before. he's literally staring at his mini version.
after your son hugged his grandparents, he noticed sae standing tall before him, unmoving and with wide eyes and furrowed brows. your little boy got scared and ran to you yelping, "mama!".
you carried him onto your lap, comforting him as you finally told the truth, "don't worry, sweetie. no need to be afraid... he's your dad."
you were looking at sae rather nervously but also with mild confidence as you said those words.
you didn't know how he would react beyond his confusion, but you were surprised to see tears fall from his eyes and a smile form on his face as he crouched down to be closer to your little boy, who has calmed down a bit now. sae's parents were also crying as they watch their son and his mini-me finally meet.
sae gently opened his arms to invite his son for a hug, and you also encouraged him to go to his dad. your son was obedient as usual, so he quickly ran to his dad to hug him.
as they embraced, sae looked at you and whispered with an amused smile, "we have a son?". you nodded in reply and finally cried too as you could no longer hold back the tears.
"what's your name?" sae asked.
"seikou!" the little boy answered with excitement as he learned to say his name properly just recently.
that night, you and sae put seikou to bed and had a long conversation afterwards in sae's room. it was getting late and you were sitting on sae's bed while he was on his couch.
"so... how have you been?" sae asked cautiously but with a hint of excitement as he finally gets to talk to you again after a long time.
"i'm doing well, i believe? i postponed starting university for a year, but besides that, there hasn't been any issues at school. i will be graduating next year, as expected. your parents have been a great support... they take care of seikou whenever i couldn't. rin has been a good and cool uncle as well." you let our a chuckle as you recall rin playing robots and soccer with your son.
"that's... that's good to hear."
"how about you?" it was your turn to ask, and yet sae seemed to be surprised when he heard you.
"i'm... good. haven't been back here for years, so... it's a bit jarring, but it feels good."
you smiled at him in response, not knowing what else to say.
awkward silence. tension heavy. air thick.
"why didn't you tell me?" sae finally asked the important question, finally addressed the elephant in the room. he sounded like he was suppressing his desperation for your answer.
"i'm sorry, sae. but you know our breakup was bad... it was painful. we didn't really end things on a good note, remember? i was extremely scared when i found out. all i could think of was you, and how you would react. i considered calling you but i wasn't sure if you would even answer. i was afraid that we would just end up fighting again, that i would hear you say the words, 'abort it.', and i knew that would break me even more." you rambled on, ending up in tears. you realized how much you've been holding these words like a burden.
"baby, why would you think that i would want you to abort our child?" sae asks in a demanding tone, quickly kneeling before you and holding your arms gently but firmly.
"i don't know, sae! you were a different person already. damaging your relationship with your family, with me, all because of soccer? i reached out to you several times back then to tell me what happened in Spain that made you change, but you disregarded me. i just felt like i couldn't trust you anymore. that's why i kept it a secret back then. but i was planning all along to tell you, i was just waiting for the right opportunity and time." you explained, not able to look him in the eye.
"alright, i understand. sorry, i'm not mad, okay? i just... wanted to know why." he loosened his grip on you and rubbed your arms soothingly.
"it's okay. i knew you'd have many questions, and rightfully so." you whispered.
it pained sae that you couldn't look him in the eye, all he could do at the moment was gently touch his forehead with yours as the two of you breathed in sync to calm down as he continued to hold your arms. it was extremely quiet, the only thing you could hear was the clock ticking, sae breathing, and his heart beating.
you stayed like that for a minute, until—
"let's start over." sae states firmly.
"what?" you asked in a whisper, breaking the forehead touch, not believing what you just heard.
"let's start over." sae repeats patiently, in a slower and gentler tone, as gentle as his smile. the smile you fell in love with and the last time you saw it has been ages ago.
you were speechless.
"let's start over, with our son."
you finally let your dam of tears break, hiding your face in your hands.
"y/n, listen to me. i have a plan, an actual plan." sae said as he freed your face from your hands. he delivered the latter part of his sentence while laughing, as he knew how much you loved concrete, actionable plans.
"my contract with Royale Youth has expired and they're currently writing up a new one back in Spain. i was supposed to ask my legal team to review it so i can sign it for renewal before flying here, but there were some delays and Royale Youth hasn't submitted the contract yet. but i didn't want to wait for it anymore and so my original plan was to just renew it when i go back there three months from now. but since i learned about our little family, i've been thinking about... not renewing anymore. i... don't want to go back there anymore. i want to live here and be a proper family with you, our baby, my parents, and rin."
sae shared his plan quite quickly, but you were able to understand everything.
"are you sure? but how about your career?"
"i'll join a team here. i've been getting relentless offers from local teams all this time." he said with a smile.
"but you don't like playing for a Japanese team, right?"
"that's not important. i learned today that i'm a dad, do you think anything else is as important? what matters is that the three of us are together." sae says rather enthusiastically, until his smile faded away as he bit his lip, something he does when he's embarrassed.
"and you know... i've been secretly watching rin's soccer career, so i'm also inadvertently updated on the state of Japanese soccer. it's not so... bad after all? at least compared to before." he admitted hesitantly.
wow. you thought. sae really has changed. or more like, he's back to his old self, the version of him that you knew and loved. he wouldn't admit it yet, but he also wants to play with his brother, and the right opportunity has come.
"that's so good to hear, sae. you just made me extremely happy." you tell him with tears of joy as you lightly squish his cheeks, just like how you did before.
"this might be embarrassing but fuck it i'm gonna say it anyway."
"hmm? what is it?"
"before coming here, i told myself that i had two options: when i arrive and you're happily with someone else, then i'll finally let you go and move on. but if you're single, i'll try one more time for the last time, and if you still say no, then i'll finally give up. it was some sort of ultimatum i imposed on myself." he chuckles as he looks away in embarrassment.
"aww, sae-"
"but today, i found out that we have a child together and honestly, i couldn't ask for anything better. this is it, y/n. this is our sign to start over and try again." his voice is full of hope, and you wanted to give that to him.
"okay... okay, sae. let's try this again." you tell him before the two of you kiss with so much longing, as if both of you were trying to make up for lost time.
sae went through with his plan and after discussions and signing of documents, he is now scheduled to debut in rin's team. their dream of being the best duo will finally come to fruition.
while sae was busy with his own affairs, you were focused on finishing university.
fortunately, you and sae seem like proper parents now as you both help each other with childcare. sae brings seikou to the daycare in the morning thrice a week, sometimes he even watches him secretly as he learns new things from the teacher and plays with his friends. sae picks him up in the afternoon and the two of them go to your university to pick you up as well. the three of you enjoy bonding time by eating ice cream and strolling around in the park.
sometime during the start of your last year in college, sae proposed to you. you said yes (duh) and he told you that he wants to get married soon after you graduate. he excitedly albeit shyly told you that he wants to be an official family as soon as possible because he wants to grow said family. you thought he was joking but he was serious when he said he wants a daughter.
just a few months after your graduation, in a small but beautiful wedding with only close friends and family, you married your childhood friend, your best friend. the whole experience was so surreal and you kept thinking to yourself that you and sae withstood not only the distance of living in two different countries, the messy breakup, the sudden pregnancy that he belatedly knew about, but also the test of time. you realized once more that sae is your person, and that you are his, because you grew up together since you were toddlers and now have your own, and because you are now Mrs. Itoshi Sae. it's something you dreamed of for years but at one point had to let go of, but ultimately still ended up becoming a reality.
juggling motherhood and university exhausted you, and so after your wedding and sae's relentless encouragement, you decided to rest for 1-2 years after your graduation. and it was the perfect time for you to try having a second baby, a daughter, as sae wanted.
your first child, seikou, is five years old by the time your newborn daughter, shiori, arrived. and seikou was so delighted to finally hold his little sister.
while you and sae watch your kids, you giggle as you told sae, "she looks like me, but she got your colors. teal eyes and mauve hair." and sae couldn't help but give a proud smile.
a few years later, sae is (still) the top soccer player in Japan (and is also still quite rude to the media lol. you gently reprimanded him but he said this is the best he can do and you just accepted it lol). and you mostly work from your home studio as a children's book writer. seikou is now 10 years old and is following his father's footsteps, and shiori just said that she wanted to be a singer. but you expect to hear a new dream from her in the following days because lately, she wants to be everything. except to be a soccer player, she said she doesn't want that because she hates sweating and being under the sun.
you're both amused and worried whenever you see how much sae spoils your daughter. you kinda expected this because he's the one who requested a daughter years ago, but shiori thinks she's a literal princess because sae says that she is and treats her like one. you remind sae from time to time to tone it down because you don't want your daughter to be a spoiled brat.
"i spoil her so much because i see her as like, the symbol of our new beginning, you know? we had her after we reconciled and reunited, after you agreed to give me a second chance, so she's very special to me, y/n."
"i know, i feel the same way. but the other day she's yelling at her friends to call her 'princess'. she's starting to demand others and that's not good, sae. we should correct it as early as now. okay?"
sae was surprised to hear about that incident and realized that yes, he's gone overboard as a doting dad.
"yes, y/n. i'm sorry, i'll tone it down." he says with an embarrassed smile and you walked over to hug him.
"why are you laughing?" he asks as he rubs your back.
"nothing, i just never thought you'll be the doting dad type."
"ugh. stop it, y/n. you're embarrassing me." he says as he hides his face in the crook of your neck, and you could feel his face burning with embarrassment.
⤷ ✧ Wake up
Gender neutral
- order 76 | headcanons | Housewardens
Note: Sleepy, airheaded silly goose — refers to main story in most of the segments not proof read.
Riddle Rosehearts
Before he even knew your name or spoke to you, you were about to fall asleep. The way your eyes kept fluttering shut and opening wide again.
You had very little energy to say the least. Sometimes he would be having a friend conversation with you and you just fall asleep standing up?? He is actually very concerned.
You would fall asleep a lot and even if you weren’t in the same class, he found out. You were in for a long scolding everytime that happened (it happens a lot). It was hard to fall asleep because he was quite loud but somehow you still closed your eyes and snored right in his face.
He wasn’t sure if you were getting enough sleep at night for whatever reason he decided to invite you over after school to see what tires you out so much. Immediately after school you knocked on (on his bed) and he checked up on you every hour or so. He hoped you’d get some good sleep and be more energized in the morning.
He learned two things, you’re a cuddler and you’re going to be tired no matter what because he woke up to you clinging onto him like a panda.
When he did wake you up, you asked for a few more minutes.
“You had 17 hours of sleep! How could you possibly need more?!”
Leona Kingscholar
He’s impressed. Even when you stepped on his tail you were clearly about to fall over and join him in his nap.
Not much to say besides he thinks it’s funny. But he doesn’t get why you’re so tired. He sees you take very long naps and half of the school day you decide to just sleep. Then your friends have to wake you up.
He’s caught you napping under a tree many times. He notices how objectively beautiful you are. He’s never gonna admit that though. You could be drooling with the eye crusts but you would still be really, really cute.
He doesn’t wake you up on purpose. He lets out a small laugh when he sees you and your eyes shoot open. Gave him a jump scare.
“Are you watching me sleep?”
“Why are sleeping in the courtyard anyway? Get up and sleep in a bed or something.”
Sometimes he would pick you up and carry you somewhere less crowded or more comfortable. When you wake up in a different location than what you remember, you don’t question it. You’re too tired to.
Azul Ashengrotto
You are not a sufficient employee. You’re generally always slow and a little bit forgetful because of your sleep deprivation.
He thought you would come running to him for a detailed study guide because instead of studying you slept your days away. But you never came. I mean you were gonna but you lost track of time and never ended up making a deal.
Whether you bombed the exam or passed with flying colors, you dodged a major bullet.
He observed you were bad at serving customers and yawned every 3 seconds, which made him glad you didn’t make a contract because you’d be dead weight.
However in PE, he noticed you were physically more capable than him. You beat him a race while you were half asleep. That’s just impressive. But it shows you only put in effort to be better than people.
You fell asleep in Mostro Lounge numerous times. He has to kick you out because you’re not ordering anything. But you always whine about how comfy the booth seats are.
“Azul… Give me a break please.”
“Don’t give me that look…”
He’s really curious why you’re always so sleeping. He sees you nap all day in school and somehow you still have eyebags.
Is it magic that makes you so tired? He just doesn’t understand.
Kalim Al Asim
During your stay at Scarabia, it was when he really started to notice how sleepy you always looked. He actually took pity on you and apologized, asking if the bed was uncomfortable or you don’t have any food to energize you.
He says that you could sit out in the morning march because you were just so tired. You looked like you were about to collapse. He feeds you a lot because he assumes you’re low kn energy because lack of carbs.
He is way too nice to you. He’s a very comfortable pillow and so everytime you see him, you sit down next to him and doze off on his shoulder.
He doesn’t usually say anything out loud as to not wake you up but inside his head he’s cooing and resisting the urge to cuddle you.
“Ah, you’re awake. Did you sleep well?”
“No, can I sleep some more?” You didn’t even wait for a response before you closed your eyes again.
Vil Schoenheit
One glance and he’s appalled. Your eye bags— what happened to you?! Maybe you’re like Ignihyde’s housewarden and stays up late.
He takes it upon himself to fix yourself up a little bit. He asked you why you wear such baggy clothes and you respond with “because I can fall asleep faster with comfy clothes.” Don’t you worry about self image?
You’re a bit of an airhead, only thinking about the next time you can nap. Your uniform is always messy because you decide to lay down and rest where ever you please.
It’s a shame because you are pretty inside and out. Your sleeping face is just naturally cute and you help people however you can, even if it’s low effort.
He gives you healthy energy drinks to keep you awake and it hardly has an effect. He gives you skin care and you fall asleep before doing it each night. Hell, he even had to tell you to take a shower. If he hears a thud he knows you drifted off the dreamland in there and fell down.
He’s basically the one making you keep up with your hygiene. He never lets you off the hook, he’s not the type to let you sleep in him either.
What sucks is that he never allows you to fall asleep when you’re in his presence unless he’s feeling gracious that day.
“Vil, please just 5 minutes. I think I’ll collapse if I don’t nap right this second…” You stumble forward and he catches you by the arm.
“Seriously, you must’ve been born with a curse.” He gently picks you up and sets you down on the couch. “30 minutes and we’re back to it.”
Idia Shroud
Sheesh, you’ve got worse eyebags than him. He first saw you when you were awake being pulled around by your friends.
When he encountered you asleep in the courtyard, he was surprised. You look much cuter when you’re asleep. But why were you sleeping behind the statue of Hades?
His muttering accidentally woke you up and you stared back at him like he’s crazy. You rubbed your eyes and blinked. It was a short stare down until you just flipped on your side and went back to sleep.
He sees you around a lot. It’s like you’re doing it on purpose. He thinks of you more than he should, you probably forgot he existed.
What’s strange is that you have strange dreams of him. Like he appears in your dreams either as a background character or is talking to you.
You try not to think about him but it always happens.
Malleus Draconia
You only met him because you fell asleep outside one time. It happens way too often unfortunately. No one was there to drag you into your bed that time and so you were there until late at night.
Your eyes shot wide open when you felt s strange presence and the ground shake a little. There were fireflies out of no where.
Then you met Malleus. You didn’t feel that tired around him for some reason. You didn’t get close though. You just talked to him about himself. You avoided any questions about yourself. A majority of the time you thought it was a reoccurring dream. You eventually started sleeping outside on purpose to see him.
Sometimes you look for him at school. You end up wearing yourself out after 10 minutes and fall asleep, hoping to see him again.
Malleus definitely tried to intimidate you for a while, he felt bitter because of how nonchalant you were. Turns out you were just an airhead and so he took it less personal.
It’s often that you fall asleep mid conversation with him. He’s not mad really, he just sets you in your bed and gets one last look before going back to his dorms.
Envy
a/n: it got seriously cold again for no reason. this one was actually kind of fun to write lol. I tried to figure out something for Tumblr and it didn't work out. enjoy this one pals
Pairing: Wednesday Addams x reader
words: 1.5k
~~~
You and Wednesday decided to hang out after classes today. You both agreed to meet at her dorm since Enid was out having a girls' night. Wednesday wouldn't tell you the amount of cleaning she did when she knew you were coming. Her side of the room was never messy, but she couldn't help but make sure everything was spotless spick, and span. Nonetheless, she was excited to see you again — even if it had only been a couple of hours since she last saw you.
Of course, you were excited too. The prospect of hanging out with Wednesday always makes your heart sing. You learned early she didn't like your attention elsewhere unless you were doing an activity together. That's why you hazardously rushed through all your homework. There was just one issue, doing that made you tired.
The walk to Wednesday's room was a familiar one, something you could do with your eyes closed. The echoes of your footsteps were unnaturally loud in the empty hallways. The particularly loud creak of that one step made you jolt. Either everything was super loud tonight or you were more tired than you thought.
Wednesday could hear you approaching the door. She had grown accustomed to the sounds of your footsteps long ago. Trying not to seem overexcited, she waited for your knock — a rhythm that was unique only to you. When the sound came she stood from her seat, taking a breath to calm her heart before walking to greet you.
Wednesday opened the door to find you slightly slouched and your eyelids drooped more than normal. Both of those things were quickly wiped away, and your facial expression showed one of joy when you caught sight of her. She'd never admit it, but seeing you so happy to see her made her heart beat a little faster.
She silently opened the door wider and stepped aside to let you in. If you noticed how clean her side of the room was you didn’t comment. You just stepped to the side and followed her to her desk and watched as she sit down on her chair. You eyed her for a moment before speaking,
"Have you started your writing time yet?"
She watched as you took a seat on top of the desk, "No, I was planning on doing that once you left."
You nonchalantly hummed in response, eyeing her bed. The bed looked unnaturally comfortable so you ask, "What if you did your writing time now? I'm kind of tired so I could take a nap while you write?"
Wednesday took a moment to look at you before responding. Everything about your body language indicated you were tired. She thought for a moment — as long as you were in the same room it wouldn't matter.
"Sure, that's alright. Would you like different clothes to change into?"
"No, I should be alright. Thank you, though," you said, unintentionally disappointing her. She wanted to see you in her clothes, but she wouldn't ever say that.
You stood up from the desk and started walking towards the bed before you abruptly turned around, "I'm sorry, I forgot to ask if you wanted anything before I took a nap." you said quickly, walking back towards her.
She sent you a look before responding, "If I had wanted anything I would have said something. Now, go take your nap before I change my mind."
With that you slowly nodded, watching her start to pull out her typewriter and set everything up. When her movements are confined to doing things on top of the desk, you swoop down and place a quick kiss on the top of her head. You move back to the bed quickly, already out of arms reach when she whips her head up to face you.
"Why did you-"
"Goodnight, Wednesday!"
She watched you recklessly kick off your shoes, practically jump into her bed and make yourself comfortable. She watched as you wiggle around before finding a comfortable position before looking at her and sending her a sleepy smile. She thought you looked adorable curled up in her black comforter like that.
Wednesday shook her head slightly, wanting to get rid of any thoughts that contained you. It worked for a little bit, her writing went smoothly as you slept soundly on her bed. However, she couldn't stop herself from glancing at you periodically. Every time she looked at you she found it harder to get back to writing. She huffed and shook her head more aggressively this time.
It lasted only a couple of minutes before she looked at you again. This time, you were curled around her pillow. You looked utterly content like that and Wednesday tried to shake the growing resentment towards the pillow. She couldn’t help but push the keys of her typewriter just a little harder when she looked away.
She glanced back at you one more time, hoping to see you pushed the pillow away. No such luck graced her, you were still curled around her pillow looking more peaceful than she's ever seen you. The bottom half of your face was hidden by the pillow held between your arms. Wednesday felt the desire to discard that pillow immediately. As much as she wanted to yank the pillow from your grasp, she was determined to finish her writing time.
Wednesday was hardly able to focus on her writing after that. Her thoughts are consumed by either yanking the pillow away or somehow making it suffer for being comfortable next to you. She moved her hands away from her typewriter once again and clenched her hands into fists. Mentally scolding herself for feeling envious of an inanimate object and for how childish the whole situation is.
When she looked at you again and decided enough was enough. She quickly stood and stomped over to you, who was blissfully unaware of the feelings festering within Wednesday. She stood by the bedside, giving you one more chance to relinquish hold of the pillow. Unfortunately, for the pair of you, you were still asleep. Your hold on the pillow didn’t loosen, forcing Wednesday into action.
Her eyes landed on your face; noticing the crease of your eyebrows was gone and watching your eyes move around behind your eyelids. You looked calm, tranquil even. She felt slightly guilty about what she was about to do until her eyes landed on the pillow. She reached out and yanked the pillow out of your grasp, waking you up in the process.
"Wha-" you started but got cut off.
"I'm throwing this away," Wednesday exclaimed, evidently angry about something.
"What? Why? What happened?" you asked quickly, alarmed by being jolted awake and still half asleep.
"This," she said, waving the pillow in front of your face, "is going in the garbage."
"Wait, Wednesday slow down," you said sleepily, sitting up to rub the sleep from your eyes, trying to wake yourself up faster. "Why are throwing the pillow away? It works fine,"
"It works a little too good," she mumbled looking at the pillow before tossing the offending object somewhere behind her.
"Why did you-"
"Shut up," she said while leaning down to take off her shoes, "if you are to hold anything while sleeping it will be me."
"huh"
"I will not repeat myself" she voiced, climbing into bed next to you — forcing you to make room for her on the bed. She laid down on her back, stiff as a board, and you waited for instructions on what to do next.
Wednesday realized then she hadn't had a plan, she just wanted that godforsaken pillow away from you. She glanced at you in her peripheral and mentally cursed herself — she needs to scold you for making her act so irrationally. She signals for you to move closer, feeling the bed dip slowly then feels your arms wrap around her arm.
The feeling of your arms wrapped around hers made her feel even more resentful toward the pillow. You could feel the anger rolling off of her in waves, so you maneuvered yourself to be able to wrap your arms around her torso.
Wednesday stiffened, "What are you doing?"
"Trying to calm you down," you replied sleepily, wanting to let Wednesday's warmth lull you back to sleep.
It went quiet after that. Both of you are seemingly content with the current situation. Wednesday was pleased you had your arms wrapped around her. You were almost asleep when she spoke up, "I am calm,"
"Liar," you whispered letting the sound of her heartbeat and warmth pull you to sleep.
She took you in, watching as your eyes closed and felt your breaths even out; signaling you were asleep for the night.
Her eyes made their way to the pillow on the floor, she scowled at it and unintentionally pulled you closer to her body. She let the feeling of your arms wrapped around her and your steady breaths lull her to sleep.

Little Sick Part 2
Pairings: Weems x Thornhill x Reader (platonic)
Word count: 1.2K
Summary: Part 2 of the first chapter
TW: agere?, illness, fever
A/n I had a request for a part 2 of this on my A03 so here it is :) if anyone wants to request SFW age regression I am open to writing it. I will put up some rules about it soon though. Part 1
Weems was betting on the fact the rest of the school was in classes as she walked through the halls with you in her arms. Your head was resting under her chin, your stuffie being clutched by little hands to your chest which as pressed into the chest of the headmistress.
Once she found herself outside the door to her own office, she held you on her hip with one arm as she used the other to unlock the door. You watched with wide eyes and a little sniffle as she let herself in. She propped you up, adjusting you on her hip before walking in. She bypassed the office with you still in her arms and went into her own quarters. She rummaged around in her bathroom, setting you down on the counter as you watched and chewed on your fingers.
After a minute she found what she was looking for. She pulled out the thermometer and a bottle of kid's pain medicine she had bought on accident one time. She helped you off the counter and led you by the hand to her room.
She put down the things on her bedside before gently lifting you onto the bed and kneeling in front of you. She brushed a little blonde cure from your eyes.
“Hello darling.” She said and brushed the back of her fingers over your cheek. “We need to take that temperature of yours my sweet girl.” She said and pulled out the thermometer. You let out a scared whine, not wanting to be tested in any way shape or form after the torture of the facility.
“Sh sh shhh honey. Its ok. It doesn’t hurt. Look.” Weems said and put the stick in her own mouth. You watched curiously before nodding. Weems removed the stick from her mouth and wiping it clean.
“Say ahhh.” She said and you mimicked her.
“Ahhh.” And she stuck it under your tongue.
“Now hold it there until i say so. Ok?” She asked and you nodded diligently. “Good girl. Thank you.”
Weems pulled out the bottle of red pain medicine. It was a syrup, so she detached the little plunger from the side and drew up the right dose. By the time she was done the stick beeped and she pulled it out of your mouth which was quickly replaced by your thumb again.
“101.4” she muttered to herself, “far too hot.” Then she looked at you who was still watching her closely. “Alright sweet girl. I need you to be brave for me and take this magic medicine to make you feel better, ok?” She asked, holding up the plunger. You studied it and nodded.
“Ok.” You said softly and Weems smiled.
“Good girl.” She placed it in your mouth and pushed the plunger in, making sure not to leave any. After a second, she took it out and you swallowed and made a face.
“Yucky.”
“Im sure it was. But you were so good for me.” She said and ruffled your hair which made you grin at her. “Now. Let’s get you into bed for some cuddles. Does that sound ok?” Weems asked. She had noticed the way your eyes were drooping and the way your grip on your stuffie was looser and looser. She was smart enough to know a nap was imminent wether you wanted one or not.
You nodded with a sleepy yawn, and a fist rubbing at your eyes. Weems stood and walked over to the bed; she pulled back the white sheets she had put on yesterday. After a second, she spent cleaning up the bedside table she slipped in beside you. You curled into her side and wrapped a small arm over her waist. Weems put an arm around your shoulder and smiled. You nuzzled into her side with a little huff as you got comfortable and settled down. Weems traced little patterns on your leg as your breathing evened out slowly.
“Goodnight baby.” Weems said. She may not have had the chance or time in the past to have her own kids, but she vowed then and there to protect you with her life. You were a shapeshifter who had been through unthinkable things, and she wasn’t ever letting you go through things alone again.
A little while later, about an hour had passed and Weems knew she needed to wake you up soon or you wouldn’t sleep through the night. Gently rubbing your back, you sat up looking sleepy when weems heard a knock on the door. Only one other person had the keys to her office and that was Marilyn. Oh god, they were supposed to go and get coffee after her classes were over.
Weems stood, picking you up and placing you on her hip. You curled into her and sucked on your thumb, the white stuffie under your arm.
Weems opened the door. Marilyn wasn’t looking at her yet as she began talking.
“Larissa, I have had- … oh.” Marilyn froze. “I didn’t know you had kids' lars?” She said looking at you as you had turned your face into Weems neck to hide.
“I-I … she’s not my kid.” Weems began. “Say hi Y/n.” She said trying to coax you out from your hiding spot. Marilyn’s face dropped.
“Y/n? As in L/n?” She whispered and Weems nodded. “Is … is she ok? I knew she’d been through a lot, but I didn’t realise it was this…” she trailed off and weems grew defensive.
“Bad?” She supplied coldly.
“Yes. No. Sorry. I- I don’t know what to say.” Thornhill said, flustered and not knowing what to do she pushed her glasses up. At that moment you turned your face from Larissa’s neck to look at the botanist who simply melted when she saw you.
“She’s certainly a cutie.” Thornhill said and waved. “Hello Y/n/n.” She cooed and you gave a shy smile and hid behind your stuffie making both teachers coo softly.
It was at this moment your stomach growled.
“Food?” You asked and Weems nodded. “Good idea bubs.” She said and walked into the kitchen motioning for Marilyn to follow.
“Bubs?” She questioned and Weems shot her a look.
“Shes growing on me.” Weems said and turned to you. “Aren’t you sweetie.” She said and pressed a kiss to your forehead.”
You nodded. “La La.”
“Whats that sweetie?” Weems said as she looked through the cupboards for a plastic cup.
“La la.” You repeated and Marilyn laughed.
“I think she’s trying to say Larissa.” She laughed and Weems blushed and looked down at you as you hid behind your hands.
She gently removed them. “Can you say lars baby girl?” She asked softly.
“Wars” you lisped, and Weems melted.
“Close enough.” She said and poured you some juice and cut up some strawberries.
“Can you say Marilyn?” Thornhill asked as weems sat you in her lap and began feeding you strawberries. You banged a chubby hand on the table and smiled.
“Mary.” You smiled and she laughed.
“Close enough.”
“Don’t talk with your mouthful baby.” Weems said and wiped some strawberry off your chin.
The rest of the afternoon was spent hanging out with the two women and their various snacks.

Cutting you off 7
Belphegor
Light angst / comfort. Good ending ig? 7/7 in the series ! GN reader (if you see any mistakes, feel free to correct me please!)
- Saying that you and Belphegor had a difficult relationship was the understatement of the year.
- It started… rocky.
- After the whole attic situation, you both worked hard on rebuilding the friendship you had started to build between whispers and promises when you would visit him in the attic.
- It was hard, though. Not only did the brothers kept a close eye on you two when you were alone, but Belphie took a different attitude after the whole Lilith situation was known.
- He was tender with you, spoke with a softer voice than before. He was all laughter and smiles around you and it seemed like he also had adopted you as a new body pillow every time he wanted a nap.
- And you were happy with it, but couldn’t help but feel like being Lilith's descendant might had been the reason of his sudden attitude change towards you.
- And you didn’t blamed yourself for feeling that way, at the end of the day, he had killed you before.
- So every time you felt a little too comfortable sleeping beside him, every time you were laughing with him on the way back home or every time you felt butterflies in your stomach when he whispered something sweet in your ear, your mind would go back to the same thought.
- “Does he really like me for me or does he like me for who he remembers when he looks at me?”
- But it was ok! You had it under control!
- Until that day at a dance Diavolo was holding.
- You spent most of the evening dancing, accompanying Diavolo to salute important demons and answering questions about the human realm, your experiences at the Devildom so far and your points of view on the exchange program.
- You were clearly overwhelmed, so you took the first opportunity you had to scape for a little while with Belphie to a corner of the room that was out of sight.
“Finally tired of those assholes?” “Belphie…” you scolded, or at least tried your best while hiding the smile that was creeping up in your face. “Don’t worry, I’m glad you are because I’ve been wanting to steal your attention since we got here” “ugh, tell me about it. I’ve been trying to find a window of opportunity to take a Power Nap with you” Belphie giggled and yawned, finally finding a spot to nap with his head on your shoulder. “Ugh, you’re always sticking to me Lilith” Belphie spoke with affection, while drifting off to sleep.
- You we’re in the verge of sleeping too until you heard him.
- Did he called you… “Lilith”? Did you heard that right?
- The next 20 minutes you spent them trying miserably to fall asleep for a while, debating whether you actually heard him called you Lilith or if it was just your sleepy mind as his sleepy slurred speech mixing together to make whatever he had said to sound like her name.
- With a lot of will power, you managed to leave the events of that night in the past. Now, two days after the ball happened, you had almost forgotten what happened between you and Belphie during your little sleeping escapade. Everything was back to normal
- Of course that was too much to ask for a place like the devildom.
- During class on Monday, you were sitting side by side, Belphie dozing off every now and then.
When the bell rang, he moved lazily up from his notebook. “Ugh, I can’t even read what I wrote.” You scoffed “no surprise, you practically dozed off every time the professor stopped to take a breath.” Belphie whined while he started pickup up his things. “Ugh, it’s so unfair. Lucifer is lucky he found my secret napping spot or else I wouldn’t have even came to this class today”. You sighed while grabbing your books, “It’s okay, you can have my notes, I’ve got you”, “thank you Lil, I can always count on you” Belphie yawned while he walked out of class, you stopped right after he left the classroom. You weren’t imagining it, right? He actually said it this time, and it was as clear as it could be. “Hey, you coming or what?” You blinked rapidly when he came back, waiting by the door. “Uh, yeah, sure. Forgot my pen” you smiled nervously, a knot forming in your throat as you dived in the RAD hallways.
- You were actively avoiding Belphie all week long, until Friday came and you were pretty much doomed, having to stay with Belphie alone, since you two had to clean the dishes after dinner that night.
- You tried to spent most of the time in silence, or barely answering with monosyllables whenever he looked at you expecting you to voice your answers.
“You’ve been kinda away this week haven’t you?” “I guess you could say that” “Lucifer’s been keeping you busy, uh?” You stayed silent, shrugging as a way of answering. Silence took over the kitchen once again.
Belphie took a plate and stared drying it off. “Or… were you just avoiding me?”
You pretended to be extremely concentrated cleaning a plate to avoid his penetrating eyes that were focused on you.
“You were, weren’t you?” You kept your eyes on the next utensil, pretending to be extremely concentrated on getting it to be squeaky clean. “Fuck, MC, stop ignoring me, just answer!” You shrugged again. “ I don’t know what you want me to say.” “That you were avoiding me! Confess it”, “I was… not not avoiding you.” You exhaled, getting mad at his attitude. “MC!” “What?” “Just stop acting so childish. I don’t understand what your problem is!” Belphegor scoffed and you dropped the fork that was in your hands. “You wanna know what my problem is? You really do? Fine. You’re a pain in the ass, Belphegor, and a big one. And I work and work hard on our relationship, trying to be there for you, trusting you, spending as much time with you as I can and still, it’s not enough, because it doesn’t matter how much I try, how much time I spend with you, you never see me for who I am, for you I’m just a replace of Lilith”
The room went quite once the final sentence was said. Belphegor finally turned to look at you, a cold expression in his face that made you shiver as he got closer to you, stopping once his face was practically on yours. “Shut the fuck up. Don’t you ever bring her up again as an excuse for you and your plain existence. She was so much better than you, she was special and so much more than what you could ever be.” Belphie spoke low, almost sounding like he was growling whenever a sentence finished. He moved, leaving the room while making sure he bumped with your shoulder. You left the air you were holding, without noticing.
“Well shit”
- After that fight, you didn’t saw much of Belphegor, and despite no one knew what your fight was about, they knew you two had a disagreement, and a big one, the tension between the two of you was practically palpable, which made dinner and almost every other family interaction, extremely uncomfortable for everybody.
- As you suspected, the first person to notice the change between your relationship was Beelzebub. He questioned you during lunch one day, trying to ask in a, very unconvincing, casual tone why you and Belphie suddenly stopped talking. You spent most of that day convincing him that it was nothing and that you two just needed some time apart. That didn’t exactly convinced him, but at least he has stopped hovering you with questions.
- One of the hardest things to do was saying no to Beel whenever he suggested an attic club sandwich get together, making up excuses or having to find ways to stay late at RAD were now part of your routine.
- And you would’ve been perfectly fine adjusting to living like that for the rest of your time at the devildom.
- Until the nightmares started to happen.
- It wasn’t weird for you to get nightmares. You had pretty vivid dreams so nightmares were something you were acquainted to. Specially whenever you were extremely stressed.
- It all started with a few upsetting dreams a couple nights a week. Then they kept escalating until you were having them pretty much everyday, waking up at least one time at night.
- You were sure that it was the stress of having to avoid Beel’s questions and Belphie's presence, while actively having to act like everything was okay and keep on with your duties as the human exchange student.
- And despite your efforts of trying to hide the effects of what the lack of sleep was causing on you, the brothers started to notice. But the first one to voice it out was Asmo, voice full of concern the first time he stopped you before getting to eat your breakfast with a “Oh my, MC! You look… like you had a rough night”
“That’s nice, today I was going for a sleep deprived look” you joked while trying to cut off the tension you felt when all of the brothers turned to look at you, inspecting you after what Asmo had said. Nobody laughed, instead looking at you with a worried look, “guys, stop it, I’m fine. I just had a little bit of trouble falling asleep last night” “Are you sure? You look like Leviathan when he stays up all night for two days to finish a new game” Leviathan scoffed and you tried to smile “yeah, I’m sure. It’s okay”.
- The rest of the breakfast you spent it trying to ignore the wondering looks the brothers were sharing.
- “Hey Mc, wait up!” Asmo's voice stopped you when you were leaving your last class. “Wanna walk back home together?” You nodded, while you both intertwined your arms. “I thought you had another class today?” “Meh, I can always ask for the work tomorrow” you smiled, rolling your eyes lovingly at him. “So… about this morning-“ “Oh, don’t worry, I know I look bad” you admitted with cheeks glowing red. “It’s not just that darling, I’m worried. You and I both know it wasn’t just a difficulty you had to sleep yesterday, you look like you haven’t sleep well in days”, you stayed in silence for a while, before answering with a shy “I haven’t” “Why didn’t you tell us! We could do something about it. Today you’ll have a warm bath and your favorite food for dinner. I can lend you one of my sleeping masks!” You smiled at him “thanks Asmo, but it isn’t my capacity to fall asleep what keeps me up. It’s my inability to stay asleep” “what do you mean?” You sighed, eyes fixed in the ground. “I’ve been having nightmares, almost every night now. I can’t actually remember what happens, but I always end up waking up confused and alerted. It takes me a long time to fall back asleep, only to end up waking up not long after”, Asmo looked at you with a concerned look, after a small silence, he gave a small squeeze to your arm. “You and I know there’s only one person that can-“ “No, I can’t ask him” Asmo sighed, eyes turning to look at the road, letting go of your arm to hug your shoulders. “Listen, I don’t know what happened between you two, but Belphie cares about you. He would help you without a doubt” “I wouldn’t be so sure… it’s just, ugh” you finally looked at him, brows furrowed. “How much time do you have?” “Darling, for you, I have all the time in the world. Now, spill the tea”.
- After a long talk with Asmodeus, you confided in him your doubts and the whole situation with Belphie. He was set on helping you two so you could fix your sleep schedule, also because since the fight Belphie had turned into an irritable demon, something you weren’t actually aware of fue to the lack of communication.
- “Belphie?” Asmodeus entered the attic, finding Belphie wrapped in a blanket while he scrolled mindlessly on his phone, “Good! You’re awake”, Belphie turned to the other side “leave me alone, I’ve been trying to fall asleep for 2 hours” “That can wait. We need to talk” “About?” “MC” Belphie buried himself deeper in the impromptu bed. “Forget it. I don’t care what they told you, but I’m not going to speak to them. Fuck them and fuck you for not minding your own business” Asmodeus snorted a laugh. “Yeez, chill out.” He shook his head “I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t necessary, okay? I know better than to bother you when you’re sleep deprived. Just listen to me” Asmodeus waited for a sign to keep on talking, but took his silence as an answer, “Mc told me the whole situation.” Asmo walked to the bed and sat at a corner. “I wouldn’t… blame you, if you kinda see Lilith in them. Sometimes I do too. And don’t get me wrong, I’m not looking at them as a replacement, is just… even before we knew the whole relation between them, they just were so alike, you know?” Asmo started playing with his fingers, anxious that Belphie was completely silent. “but I could understand how that would be conflicting to them. Feeling like you’re not being seen for who you are, worrying that the people you care about only see you as the replacement of someone else they loved before you”
“You know that’s not how I feel” “well I think I know, yes, but clearly Mc doesn’t.” Belphie finally turned to look at him. “You need to talk to them Belphie, nobody can stand the way you two let your pride stop you from talking this out. Not even Lucifer has gone this far” “Pfft, good try”. Asmo grabbed his shoulder before he could turned around again. “Belphie, they need you” “what do you mean?” “They haven’t been able to sleep well for days, and you’re the only person that could help them” Belphie sat at the bed, nap intentions long forgotten. “This isn’t a trap?” Asmo looked offended, he gasped before answering “No! Come on! Haven’t you looked at them? They look awful. If their bags get any deeper, they’ll look like a raccoon” Belphie analyzed the situation for a while, Asmo waiting patiently. “Listen, they don’t even know I’m taking to you about this, but I can’t stand looking at them so tired and sad because you two are still mad at each other, so please, fix this.”
- It was late at night , and everybody at HoL had gone to sleep already. Everybody except Belphie.
- He couldn’t stop thinking about his interaction with Asmo. He couldn’t be lying right? Did Mc had really been struggling all these days by themselves?
- Unable to sleep, he stood up and started walking to your room, taking advantage of the time Beel got up for a late night snack.
- Belphie looked for you at your room, failing miserably and leading him to look for you around the whole house.
- Finally after 20 minutes, he found you at the planetarium.
At first he tried really hard to not startle you. You were too busy lying there, looking at the starts, that he felt he was going to interrupt your calm moment alone. Still, as soon as he entered the room, you turned to look at him, being able to listen to the door.
You both stood there, looking at each other for a couple minutes before either one of you said something. “Uh” Belphie broke the silence “I’m sorry, I didn’t knew you were here” he said, like he hadn’t just spend the last 20 minutes looking for you. “It’s okay, I was leaving.” You got up, cleaning your pants. “No, wait” you were startled, looking at Belphegor. “I have to talk to you”
You stood there, awkwardly, after a few seconds of silence you nodded, giving him confirmation to go on. “About the other day, uhm. I need you to know that Lilith… wasn’t so annoying.” “What?” “She didn’t snorted when she laughed, she didn’t grabbed my fries every time we went eating and she didn’t braided my heat when I fell asleep in her lap. I could never replace her with you, a hardheaded, know-it-all, exasperating of a person. You could never be her” You closed your eyes while shaking your head slightly in disbelief, starting your walk to leave the place “If that was your idea of an apology, Belphegor…” Belphegor quickly grabbed your wrist, keeping you in place as he continued.
“But you’re also right. I do see her every time I see you. Whenever you’re being nice to someone who doesn’t deserve it, whenever you help Luke or whenever you tend to me and my brothers with nothing but sweetness, I see her. You’ll never be her because you’re your own kind of person. I was wrong about comparing you because you’re just… you. Sweet, kind and lovingly annoying you. And I’m sorry I made you feel like you were a replace of Lilith. I see you and appreciate you for the person you are, MC. And I’m sorry for not telling you sooner.”
With eyes full of tears you hugged him, having him hugging you in return immediately. You stayed like that for a couple minutes before you talked.
“I don’t like being someone else’s replacement”
Belphegor shake his head slightly, his hand grabbing your hair softly “You’re not. I promise”
“Are you sure?”
“Completely”
“Good” you sniffed, finally parting enough to be able to look at his eyes. “Because I… care too much about you to feel like that” Belphie smiled at you while he tucked a piece of hair behind your ear.
“Nah, you’re too annoying to be compared to anyone else” “Asshole”
OMG I DID IT! I know it took me a loooooong time but I wanted to end with my best, lol. I really liked Belphies part, even though I had to rewrite it a couple of times, I feel like it was worth it. What about you? Don’t worry though, there’s a lot more coming <3

But You Look So Cool
A Danny Wagner/Sam Kiszka fic
Summary: Danny has a crush on a familiar face.
Tags: Fluff, cutesy bullshit, IDIOTS ALERT, literally just the stupidest goofuses alive, NSFW shit AHHHH
Words: 10.8k
A/N: Just trying to keep my Sanny girlies fed. Heavily inspired by Crush by Ethel Cain, everybody go listen to Ethel Cain right now or I will explode you with my mind
Let me know what you think!
~~~
Danny Wagner knew there was no shame in ditching the typical post high school route of moving across the country to start college. Well, maybe it was more like an affirmation he said to himself begrudgingly in the mirror after coming home from work and getting ready to go to class at the local community college. He’d escaped his parent’s house, not that there was anything bad to escape from, and now lived in a crappy one room apartment that he paid for by working a job that he liked an average amount. Every other day, Danny took classes at the community college. He couldn’t help but feel like he was wasting his early twenties saving money and starting small, even though he knew it was the smartest option for him, considering he wasn’t actually all that sure what he wanted to do with life. There weren’t a lot of things Danny was sure of about himself quite yet, but he had faith that it would all fall into place. It had to. Right?
Danny wasn’t sure when things would start to become clear to him, but he was pretty sure it wasn’t going to be during any of his classes. This was an endurance part of his life, he had decided. Get them done, get the associate’s degree, and THEN go from there. He was taking a pretty low course load so he could keep up with work and, well, his sanity, and this was a September where he was taking a whopping two classes. They were both pretty basic, a math course and a history course, and he didn’t expect much from them apart from taking the occasional nap and scurrying to do all of his homework last minute like he’d done his entire academic career.
What Danny especially didn’t expect from his first day of classes was walking into his math classroom (only after double and triple checking he had the right room), taking a seat by the window, and then becoming acutely aware of the smell of cigarette smoke. As he dug his laptop and notebook out of his bag, he wrinkled his nose at the smell and prepared to meet whoever had drug this scent in with them. He could see someone had sat next to him while his neck was craned, and when he straightened, Danny looked to his right and was immediately seized by a cold jolt of surprise. The guy next to him was undoubtedly the smoker, but he was also undoubtedly someone Danny had gone to school with prior.
It was Sam, Sam Kiszka, Sam Kiszka who had been on the robotics team and favored shadowing his older brothers over cultivating a group of friends. Danny had known him with a shaggy emo haircut, braces, and an arsenal of class clown cracks. He’d ultimately lost track of Sam during senior year, when news broke of his dad’s arrest and Sam had shrunk moodily into the shadows while his brothers disappeared into college life and made their own name beyond crime and scandal.
Danny had a feeling that whole era of Sam’s life played a factor into the man he’d grown into. This new Sam sat slouched in a smoke soaked leather jacket with a ratty backpack and scowl playing on his face. It was weird to see him like this. Danny almost wanted to say something, but after Sam’s feline glare passed over him and quickly slid off, he decided not to. He was annoyingly aware of the effect it had on him, though. There was a nervous tremor in Danny’s hand as he opened up his laptop and logged in, staring at himself in the reflection of the dark loading screen and checking for eye boogers or frizz in a sudden attempt to smooth out his sleepy appearance.
The smoke smell was dizzying now in such close proximity, equal parts overwhelming and delicious. Danny breathed it in and, instead of letting out an almost longing sigh, he let out a huge sneeze. In doing so, he knocked his forehead against his keyboard and scooted backwards in his chair in the same motion. Red faced, he looked up and saw almost every eye in the previously quiet room trained on him. Someone called out a ‘bless you’ and he thanked them with an embarrassed smile, finally looking over to see Sam’s assessment. Danny felt his face go hot all over again when he saw Sam was side eyeing him with an amused smile. When they made eye contact, Sam quickly looked forward again and his smile crumpled. For some reason he couldn’t pin, Danny’s heart fluttered.
His mind started racing as his anxiety made him more and more aware of Sam’s presence and every little move. Did Sam remember him? What the hell had he been up to the past two years? Danny had heard rumors that Sam slipped in and out of the county jail since his dad had been sentenced to death row, unconsciously mirroring his family legacy in some sort of effort to cope. But as far as Danny knew, that was just hearsay. As the professor started the lecture and Danny started to focus, his last thought was that maybe he and Sam would grow to be friends over the course of the class.
--
Danny gave up on that hope after the third class. Even during icebreakers, Sam had barely spoken and seemed to daydream the entire class, taking bare bones notes and racing out the door the second the lecture finished. Still, Danny gave him well prepared smiles in the split seconds that Sam’s eyes would drift over him, considering that Danny’s eyes were now almost always on him. Danny himself was a little startled by how distracted he was by his silent classmate. They had exchanged zero words and yet Danny found himself driving up to the building with anxious butterflies as the days went on. He started fulfilling weird little compulsions he’d never felt before, like standing in front of the mirror messing with the way his hair fell, even though he always left it back in its wavy, brushed-out side part. Danny sat in class with his back straighter and his face hidden by his curtain of waves, using them as a cover to sneak glances at Sam’s frowning profile.
In such a tizzy, Danny had spent the time after a family dinner to corner his sister and ask her for a second opinion on why he was feeling so crazy. He had scoffed when she’d begun to laugh in his face, looking at him like he was the stupidest person alive.
“What, you asshole?” Danny asked, shoving Josie’s shoulder as she stifled her laugh with a hand and used the other to grip his shoulder in comradery.
“You idiot,” she giggled. “You’re not being possessed by the devil. You have a fucking crush.”
Danny flushed and laughed at the accusation, rolling his eyes.
“Yeah, okay, sure, right,” Danny mocked, leaning against the doorframe of his sister’s room. “We’ve literally never spoken.”
“You don’t have to talk to someone to have a crush on them,” Josie explained.
Danny paused.
“You don’t?”
“No? What, is this your first year on Earth? Are you experiencing emotions for the first time?”
“Shut the fuck up.”
“Seriously! Have you never had a crush before?”
Danny thought about it.
“Yeah, in, like, high school,” Danny answered. “I had a girlfriend, thank you.”
“Oh, please, you only dated her because she wouldn’t leave you alone,” Josie accused with a creeping smile. “Sounds like this guy is giving you the real deal. Congratulations, welcome to feelings.”
“What do I even do about it?” Danny whined, sliding down the wood panel and sitting hard. “This shit sucks.”
“Ask him out!” Josie insisted, forming a little heart with her hands. “Follow your heart.”
“You’re a fucking cornball,” Danny countered. “I feel like I should probably talk to him minimum one time before I do that. I mean, I don’t even know if he’s…you know, whatever. Would even be into me.”
“Oh, I bet he’s totally into you,” Josie assured. “When you said he smiled at you after you sneezed? Totally into you.”
“You’re just feeding my delusion.”
“I’m making up for lost time you spent fake dating a weirdo in high school.”
“Yeah, this is some real sentimental bonding we’ve got going on right now.”
“Come on, you wimp,” Josie said, tossing a pillow at Danny’s head. “Do literally anything. Don’t let him be the one that got away.”
“You’re so dramatic, fuck,” Danny accused, but smiled. “Fine, okay, I’ll talk to him.”
--
Danny did not talk to him. Danny really did plan on talking to Sam during their next class, but when Danny pulled into a parking spot, he found himself next to Sam and his grungy motorcycle. Worse yet, it was one of September’s warmer mornings with a humidity left over from a storm the next before, which meant that Sam was shirtless and covered in a fine sheen of sweat. He took off his helmet and shook his hair out, unaware of Danny’s jaw hitting the floor as he combed it through with one hand and dug a shirt out of his backpack. After allowing himself one more sidelong glance before he stumbled out of his car, Danny saw a scattering of tattoos on Sam’s wiry arms and hiding on his ribcage. The words died on Danny’s tongue and in his mind and he decided that maybe he’d wait another day, so he did. And then he waited for two more weeks after that, and even then, Danny couldn’t get himself to even breathe in Sam’s direction.
The only person keeping Danny accountable was Josie, and she regularly expressed her upset towards Danny’s lack of action. The siblings had a long standing tradition of raiding the convenience store by their house on Saturday evenings so they had a proper snack arsenal for movie night, and on the Saturday after the one month mark of Danny’s class starting, Josie followed him through the aisles and chastised him.
“Why do you even care so much?” Danny hissed at her as he absently looked through rows of crinkling bags of chips and pretzels.
“Because this is the most exciting thing that’s happened to you since you graduated, you nerd,” Josie answered, plucking a bag of chips out of his hand and breezing by. “Plus, it’d be fun to have someone to razz you with.”
“Has anyone ever told you you’re a kind and gentle soul? Because they were lying.”
Josie laughed and they both continued a steady bicker as they swept the aisles. They settled in the candy aisle for a heated debate on what the “mood” of their candy should be that night. Suddenly, a raucous round of hissing and popping started up outside and they both startled, looking towards the sound. It was the sound of firecrackers, and the owner let out a disgusted sigh and stormed out from behind the counter. He’d seen the Wagner siblings in his store since they were little, and since they were the only ones in there, he quickly told them to not steal anything and then ran out the doors to investigate. The two of them exchanged an amused look and started a joking dialogue about how much stuff they could fit in their pockets when the bell on the door jingled again. They quieted, thinking the owner was back so soon, but Danny felt the wind get knocked out of his lungs when he looked behind him into the next aisle and saw a familiar helmet. He mouthed ‘shit’ and turned around again, Josie quickly picking up on the nervous twitch in his features and looking for herself.
“What?” she whispered, almost inaudible, following Danny as he scooted into the next aisle over to put an aisle between them. Danny gave her a look, and then jerked his head at the man once before widening his eyes. Instantly, her mouth fell open and she started peeking over the top of the shelves to try and catch a glimpse at Sam’s face.
“No way!” she breathed again. “He rides a motorcycle? Hot!”
“Shut the entire fuck up,” Danny seethed, feeling a chill run down his spine when he heard Sam’s boots in the aisle behind them. He moved quickly, a rustle of bags and wrappers as he did. Danny and Josie stood very still when they felt Sam stride into the aisle they were in, exchanging a look and then respectively picking up a snack and examining their wrappers intently. Danny took a brave look over at Sam and saw him pick up a bag of Skittles and then pocket it brashly in the joking way he and his sister had pretended to. Danny blinked in surprise; maybe Sam really was the criminal people made him out to be. Hopefully shoplifting was the worst of his crimes.
Sam moved down the aisle towards them and looked up at Danny, the two of them exchanging a moment of tense eye contact before Sam’s dark eyes flickered over the Twix in Danny’s hands and then away again. Sam walked behind the two of them and then with a quiet ‘excuse me’, he reached his arm in front of Danny and plucked a Twix from the box. Danny stood frozen to the spot but leaned politely out of the way, trying to subtly stomp on Josie’s foot when she sneakily reached up and sank her nails into his forearm in a silent urge for Danny to say something.
However, Danny hardly got the chance to breathe before the owner walked back into the store with an annoyed huff, which caused Sam to startle and then hustle back past them and slip behind a display. Danny and Josie shared a confused look and tracked the top of Sam’s helmet as he sneaked around the perimeter of the store, clearly trying to make his way to the door without being seen. Unfortunately for Sam, they heard his boot knock loudly against a bottle and the owner looked up from his paper. His face immediately twisted into a fury.
“KISZKA!” he bellowed, slamming his paper onto the counter as Sam scurried down the first aisle and out the door, the bell banging loudly as the owner followed him out in a hurried jog. Danny and Josie quietly stood and watched the two men disappear around the corner in a flurry of yells.
“Well,” Josie finally said as they slowly approached the counter and started piling their stuff onto it for when the owner returned. “He seems really nice.”
“Shut up,” Danny muttered, knowing his face was thoroughly flushed from both nerves and embarrassment.
“No, really, I’m super excited for your prison biker wedding.”
“Shut up.”
--
On Monday, Danny was sitting at his table going over the Excel graphing exercise that had driven him nearly crazy the night prior when something was loudly dropped next to him. His reflexes were not as sharp from his lack of sleep and he jolted, calming when he saw what had been dropped on his notebook: a Twix. Danny immediately looked to his right and watched Sam fall into his seat, cracking his neck and unzipping his backpack like nothing had happened. Heart racing, Danny picked up the chocolate and caught Sam’s eye, holding it aloft with confusion crinkling his arched brows. Sam looked at the Twix like he was surprised to see it, sniffed absently and then reclined further in his chair.
“It’s a bribe,” Sam finally spoke, his light voice betraying his cool, edgy facade.
“Pardon?” Danny asked dumbly, trying not to stumble over his words.
“A bribe,” Sam repeated, looking at Danny like he was stupid. “It seems like you know what you’re doing in this class, right?”
“Barely,” Danny muttered, looking back at the admittedly correct graphs on his screen.
“That’s better than how I’m doing,” Sam scoffed, loudly dropping his laptop on his table and pulling a bulky thermos out of his backpack. “I figured a little bribe would help to make alliances.”
Danny looked back at the candy in his hand.
“You stole this.”
“So, what? You and your girlfriend were talking about stealing.”
“That was my sister,” Danny clarified with a curl of his lip. “We weren’t actually going to steal anything, it was just a dumb joke.”
“Well, aren’t you a perfect angel?” Sam sarcastically batted his lashes at Danny and then rolled his eyes, cracking his knuckles aggressively. Danny bristled at Sam’s attitude, even though a small part of him was thrilled by it.
“I don’t know how you think you make friends, but it’s not like this,” Danny snipped shakily, lifting his chin and looking back at his screen. He could feel Sam staring at him as he pretended to care about his homework.
“You’re Danny, yeah?” Sam asked casually after a minute.
“Yeah.”
“I remember you from high school.”
Danny hesitated and met Sam’s eye again. Sam smiled, knowing he had Danny’s attention.
“I didn’t do much in high school,” Danny laughed awkwardly, a little incredulous that Sam would’ve paid any kind of attention to him back then. Danny had friends, sure, but he coasted through classes and invested most of his time with the golfing team, playing video games and banging on the drumset in the basement. He and Sam had mutual friends but had never run in the same circles.
“I remember you anyways,” Sam went on, picking at the skin of his thumb. “You weren’t the type of person to pass up the chance to help out. And I bet that hasn’t changed much. So, you know, if you could help me with an assignment or two, that’d be sick. Plus, I’d make it worth your while.”
“Will I continue to be paid in Twix?”Danny joked, flushing at Sam’s surprising comprehension of Danny’s character. Sam laughed, a sharp noise that sent chills down Danny’s spine.
“You’re fucking funny, dude,” Sam grinned. “If that’s what you want, but I can get you whatever you need. Pick your poison.”
“Poison?” Danny echoed, blinking blankly. Sam’s eyes softened slightly as he realized Danny wasn’t picking up on what he was putting down. He looked almost endeared.
“Yeah, man,” Sam continued, his voice lowering as he leaned towards Danny. “Dope, coke. If that’s not your vibe, I’ll buy you a stupid six pack or roll you a blunt.”
“If I help you do your homework, you’re going to give me coke?” Danny hissed, leaning in as well. “You’re going from Twix to cocaine for trigonometry?”
“I have to graduate,” Sam hissed back, his voice urgent. “Not graduating is not an option for me. I’ve already flunked a class once and if I fail again my family will-”
Sam cut himself off with a groan and flopped dramatically back into his seat, crossing his arms and stretching his legs out.
“Forget it,” Sam snapped, color rising to his cheeks as he let out a huff. “Forget everything I said. I’m fine, it’s fine.”
Danny paused as he watched Sam shift in his seat, his eyes clouding over as he stared down at his lap. If he didn’t know any better, he’d have thought that Sam might be starting to tear up.
“Hey, man, I’ll help you,” Danny relented, his heart nearly hammering out of his chest as he said it. “Don’t worry about paying me back or anything, though. Actually, I’m more motivated to help you if you promise NOT to give me drugs.”
Sam stared silently at him for a moment, clearly waiting for Danny to pull the rug out from under him and tell him he was only joking. But Danny was sincere in his promise, and Sam’s tense shoulders loosened slightly.
“Cool,” Sam said quietly, nodding once. “Are you busy after class?”
Danny was supposed to have lunch with a friend, but in a split second he decided to cancel.
“No,” Danny answered quickly.
“Wanna go to the library and, I don’t know, you tell me what the fuck is happening in this unit?” Sam suggested, his voice lowering as he got to the end of his sentence. Danny couldn’t help but let a painfully endeared smile cross over his face as he pretended to think for a second and then nodded.
“Yeah, that works,” Danny agreed casually and Sam mirrored his nodding.
“Sweet.”
“Yeah.”
They looked at each other for a moment, letting a few awkward beats pass before Sam cleared his throat and turned his attention back to his thermos. Danny watched him unscrew the chunky lid and take a deep sip, causing Sam to visibly hold back a wince as his eye twitched and he screwed the lid back on. He looked back at Danny, who was regarding him with another look of surprise.
“What?” Sam whispered.
“Dude,” Danny said simply, unsure whether to be concerned or to laugh.
“Shut up,” Sam replied, narrowing his eyes like an angry cat.
“It’s 9am,” Danny went on, a giggle at the end of his words.
“Shut up,” Sam repeated.
The professor got out of her seat and turned on her computer, signaling the beginning of class, and both of them fell silent as the lecture flashed on the projection screen. Danny decided to try and sneak one more look at Sam before he tuned in completely, allowing himself to relish in the anticipation that they were going to be spending the afternoon together. When he looked, he saw Sam was looking back at him, and they both turned away quickly and didn’t make eye contact for the rest of the class.
After an admittedly awkward walk to the library, Danny very quickly learned the extent of just what kind of student Sam was. His eyes wandered, his questions branched into a myriad of tangents, and oftentimes his conclusions made no sense. A particularly hard problem had Danny making Sam slowly backtrack his process to how he arrived at his answer, which made Danny even more confused and further infuriated Sam as he was reminded of how lost he was.
And yet, Danny was exceedingly patient with him. When the light outside started to fade and they gave up on making any more progress, Sam seemed genuinely shocked that Danny had stuck around as long as he had. Sure, when he got home that night Danny gave an extra little scream into his pillow from how hard he had fought Sam to try and help him understand the unit they were on, but Danny really hadn’t minded getting to spend some actual one on one time with Sam. Between tense discussion and slow calculations, Danny had actually had a lot of fun.
--
Danny finally admitted to himself that he was completely and totally screwed after the next couple of study sessions with Sam. The issue was that not only was Sam even hotter up close, but that he and Danny got along famously. When he wasn’t cussing out his textbook (or Danny, on occasion) or staring off into space, Sam was funny and quick witted and a surprisingly good listener. He had this habit of cradling his jaw with both hands while staring wide eyed at Danny and the textbook he was working off of, nodding occasionally and scribbling down Danny’s process with his bottom lip sucked in between his teeth.
“You’re really getting it now, man,” Danny said proudly one afternoon, watching Sam’s flimsy mechanical pencil work its way down his notebook page as he linked together a probability.
“Maybe a little,” Sam mumbled, flipping a page to check the answer sheet.
“Seriously, you’ve made hella progress,” Danny went on, motioning at Sam’s paper with his own pencil. “You don’t even need the cheat sheet, I know that’s right.”
“Still gonna check,” Sam insisted, seeming to shrink under Danny’s praise. Danny frowned, watching Sam grow somber in the way he always did when he scoured his homework for problems. Normally, Danny just let him take his quiet pause, but this time he felt himself saying something before he could stop himself.
“You know that you’re smart, right?”
Sam looked up quickly, looking almost disgusted by Danny’s compliment.
“Yeah, okay,” Sam mocked, crinkling his nose.
“You are,” Danny continued. “You were smart in high school, too. I mean, you did robotics and debate and stuff, right? You’ve gotta be clever to do all that.”
Sam blinked, his look shifting from unbelieving to almost shy.
“You remember all that?” Sam asked, his voice oddly soft. Danny felt his face flush.
“Uh, well, yeah,” Danny stammered slightly, shrugging like it was nothing. “I noticed lots of stuff in high school. It was a lot more fun than doing my own stuff, I guess.”
“You did cool stuff, too,” Sam said hesitantly, looking back at his page. “Golf is…cool.”
“No, it’s not,” Danny laughed, and a smirk slipped onto Sam’s face.
“Nah, it’s really not,” Sam agreed, the smirk growing to a cheeky grin. “You know what I mean. You were a cool person.”
“Oh, am I not cool anymore?” Danny teased, basking in the realization that at least once, Sam had thought about him back then.
“You’re still cool,” Sam smiled, his eyes boring into Danny’s own as Danny’s smile grew wide and dopey.
“Cool,” Danny replied dumbly, seeing Sam’s eyebrow raise in his peripheral vision as he pretended to start on another question.
“Not good with compliments either, huh?” Sam accused lightheartedly.
“I guess I just don’t get them that much,” Danny answered honestly. Sam immediately let out a sharp, one note laugh that earned him a dirty look from the librarian and a confused smile from Danny.
“What?” Danny asked. Sam looked him up and down once with an amused smile, but once he realized Danny had absolutely no clue what he found so ridiculous, his smile quickly died.
“Nothing, whatever,” Sam backtracked, letting out another much quieter laugh as if to make up for the brashness of the first one.
“Nuh uh, tell me,” Danny insisted, quickly swiping Sam’s paper out from under his hand and holding it hostage under his forearm. “What’s so funny, funny guy?”
“Nothing!” Sam doubled down, his usually edgy tone taking on a brand new whining quality as he tried to yank his paper back. The annoyed knit of Sam’s eyebrows gave Danny a small thrill he didn’t quite understand.
“You tell me why you laughed or I eat this fucking piece of paper.”
“Oh, I would actually love to see that, go right ahead.”
“Come on, Sam, tell me,” Danny all but begged. “Why is it so damn funny I don’t get compliments on the reg?”
Sam still refused to meet his eye, half heartedly trying to slide the paper out from under Danny’s arm with his fingertips gripping furiously.
“I don’t know, I guess it’s just weird considering you look, you know…” Sam trailed off, his tan cheeks rosy as he stumbled to his point. “Looking the way you do, I’d think maybe you’d be fending ‘em off ‘on the reg’. Your words, not mine.”
Danny blinked, still vaguely lost.
“Looking the way I do?” Danny echoed slowly, and Sam rolled his eyes. Danny looked down at himself, trying to decipher whatever Sam was getting at. “Is there a big sweater crowd here that I was unaware of, or…?”
“Oh, for fuck’s sake,” Sam mumbled, finally pushing Danny’s arm back with one hand and grabbing his paper with the other. “Nevermind.”
Danny spent the rest of the night trying to understand just what Sam had been telling him, but it didn’t hit him until that last second before he finally fell asleep. Danny had sat up abruptly when the thought settled on him, his adrenaline jerking him upwards like a puppet so hard that his knee collided with his cheek. He fell back onto his pillow with a prolonged groan, pressing the heel of his palm to his sore cheek, feeling his blood pulse as he blinked up at the ceiling with the realization spinning in his head: Sam thought he was attractive. And he had said it right to Danny’s face without him knowing. As he began to drift off again, Danny thought he might be the stupidest man alive.
--
Danny certainly felt like one when the next time he saw Sam, he approached him with sheepish energy and a big, tender bruise on the plane of his cheek under his right eye. Sam’s mouth fell open and he immediately reached up to touch Danny’s face, his fingers softly grazing over the bruise as his dark eyebrows drew together in confusion.
“What the hell happened to you?” Sam asked, his eyes suddenly lighting up as a snarky comment generated in his head. “Oh my god, did you get in a fight?”
Danny, realizing there was no way he could explain the true nature of his injury without sounding like an utter idiot, quickly nodded in agreement and tried to look remorseful. Sam’s mouth fell open again. The sparkle in his eye paired with his ability to be so quick to believe made Danny’s stomach flutter in adoration.
“Yeah, no biggie,” Danny said coolly as he slid into his seat, shrugging off his bag as Sam landed on his seat harshly, his eyes still stuck to Danny’s face.
“Who did you fight?” Sam gasped. “Did you fight a cop? Oh, please say yes.”
“Yep, you know me, big cop fighter,” Danny agreed, sarcasm edging his voice as he shot Sam a sly smile. Sam slumped in his seat as he began to scowl.
“Oh, fuck you, don’t lie to me,” Sam pouted, crossing his leather clad arms. “Seriously, what’s with the bruise?”
“It’s stupid, I’m fine,” Danny laughed.
“Do we have to cancel midterms studying later?” Sam asked, looking concerned. Maybe even disappointed. “I don’t wanna, I don’t know.”
“Are you worried I’m going to strain my small bruise too much?” Danny teased, butterflies fluttering again at Sam’s genuine worry about his well being.
“I don’t know!” Sam spluttered. “I want to make sure my teacher isn’t being held back from teaching me.”
“Sure, sure,” Danny smiled, finding a random surge of confidence and channeling it by mocking one of the first things Sam had said to him. “Aren’t you just a perfect angel?”
Sam immediately fell silent, rolling his eyes deeply and lolling back into his seat, turning away from Danny for a moment before flopping his head back towards Danny.
“Maybe I am,” Sam joked, giving Daniel a theatrical wink before scoffing and shaking his head, reacting so heavily that Danny figured that he must’ve been genuinely flustered by Danny’s accusation. It was hitting him again now, that Sam might actually like him back. It still felt like a reach, but Danny let the satisfaction of the possibility straighten his spine confidently while Sam continued to sputter.
--
By the time midterms had come and gone, Danny was beginning to become actually convinced he might have a shot with Sam. A lot of this was attributed to Sam suddenly and consistently indulging in a habit Danny was well acquainted with: kleptomania.
“Sam, you have got to stop,” Danny said defeatedly after Sam dropped yet another grocery bag of snacks on the table in front of Danny before collapsing in the booth across from him. This study session was at a coffee shop, which Danny thought might deter Sam from his now expected habit of bringing Danny bags of treats and the occasional other small, random items.
“Why? It’s funny,” Sam insisted as he did every time Danny questioned why the hell he was doing this. “Come on, laugh.”
“I am not laughing, thank you very much,” Danny said haughtily, sifting through the bag with two fingers. “Aw, come on, there’s even more than last time. Those poor store owners you’re robbing are going to start to notice, you know.”
“Whatever, as if they could prove it was me,” Sam scoffed with pride, cracking his neck cockily.
“Security cams, Sams,” Danny remarked, tying the handles of the bag together. “Seriously, it’s just not worth the risk. I don’t know why you think I’m so desperately in need of a couple hundred granola bars.”
“Totally worth the risk,” Sam argued. “I have a great time doing it, and then you have a great time not starving.”
“Why would I be starving?”
“You said you barely even eat during the days you work. Boom, problem solved, shut up and eat your damn fruit snacks.”
Danny’s heart suddenly began to slam against his ribs as the feelings that accompanied Sam’s shockingly sweet intentions jolted every nerve ending in Danny’s body.
“You started being a full blown klepto because…you didn’t want me to be hungry?”
“So?” Sam’s voice was sharp and defensive, but when Danny blinked at him, he saw Sam’s eyes soften for a fraction of a second and he knew.
“It’s just…actually very nice of you,” Danny said, his voice petering out slightly at the end of his sentence. “Now I kinda feel like a dickhead for yelling at you. Even though I still don’t think you should steal.”
“I accept your apology,” Sam answered jokingly. “So, which homework are we going over today?”
“Oh, we actually don’t have anything due on Friday,” Danny said. “I’m slightly concerned you don’t remember her saying that, but, yeah, we don’t technically don’t have to work on anything.”
“Oh,” Sam said simply, tensing and then relaxing in the same second. “So, we’re just…like, hanging out?”
“I guess,” Danny replied, masking his nerves by taking a sip of his drink. “I mean, we can look ahead in the book. Or you can, like, go if you want.”
“No, no, it’s whatever,” Sam said hurriedly. “I mean, I already ordered a drink, so.”
“Yeah, I mean, then you gotta stay,” Danny teased, still a little surprised by his own ability to flirt so quickly lately. “Maybe we can even attempt a conversation without talking about trigonometry.”
“Sounds like pulling teeth,” Sam agreed, arching a dark brow in amusement. “I’m down.”
“Should I ask you how your day was?”
“Definitely not.”
“What about your childhood?”
Sam bristled but somehow twisted it into a weak smile.
“I don’t know, you were there for a good chunk of it,” Sam smiled, and Danny melted a little. “You weren’t super involved or anything, but you probably know the gist of it.”
“Mm, I guess,” Danny shrugged. “Not enough to know how you went from being such a nice little nerd to…wherever you are now.”
“Is there something wrong with me now?” Sam snapped, giving Danny the stink eye.
“No, no, but you’re definitely a lot different than you were 5 years ago,” Danny went on and Sam swallowed, his eyes traveling in the air next to Danny’s head uncomfortably.
“True,” Sam agreed sullenly.
“I didn’t mean to, I don’t know, drag up anything,” Danny said nervously, taking note of the dark cloud settling over Sam’s head. “Just making conversation. I mean, I admit I am curious, but you can change the subject.”
“It’s…fine,” Sam sighed, shifting in his seat and finally taking off his jacket as he talked. “I mean, you know all the shit that went down with my family. I guess it’s just kind of a weird thing for an angsty little teenager to deal with, and doing spontaneous, adrenaline rush inducing shit is a lot easier to do than dealing with emotions. Way more fun, too.”
“I get that,” Danny said softly. “I was worried for you for a while in high school. You didn’t come to school for like a week straight once and I totally thought something bad had happened.”
“Really?” Sam asked. He looked surprised that Danny had remembered that, and he also looked a little guilty.
“I mean, yeah,” Danny stammered. It was true; it had been a little hard not to be on the lookout for Sam after his dad’s mugshot had been plastered on every newspaper in town.
“Well, I was fine,” Sam insisted, guilt still gracing his features. “With everything going on, I figured nobody would care if I stayed away for a little while. I was pretty much just taking tabs in the woods and eating at drive throughs and stirring up shit at random bars.”
“That sounds like it sucks,” Danny blurted, and Sam looked startled by his candor.
“It did suck,” Sam answered plainly. “But it could have been worse. I mean, I only got arrested once.”
“That’s a miracle,” Danny joked and Sam laughed.
“Honestly, yeah,” Sam agreed with a feline smirk. “I’ve gotten up to some pretty crazy things in my time.”
“I’d love to hear about them,” Danny smiled, cupping his chin in his hand in an effort to look tuned in completely to Sam. Sam laughed again and mirrored Danny’s cheesy motion with a higher notch of dramatics, making both of them chuckle before Sam launched into a highlights reel of the craziest things he’d experienced in the past couple of years. With every new anecdote, Sam loosened up more and more, his eyes staying round and playful as he gesticulated often and laughed between his words. Even though his stories painted him as some kind of a wild thrill seeker, the Sam sitting in front of Danny was exuberant, sweet, and kept collapsing into fits of giggles that made him snort and giggle all over again. Danny couldn’t help but stare.
--
Suddenly it was November, and Danny and Sam put their heads together to work through the review packet they’d been given. The truth is that the review packet had all the basics of the units they’d gone through, and the professor had said that the final was going to be a collection of all the simplest concepts so there was no reason to unnecessarily stress, but Danny and Sam began to study like it was the bar exam. At this point, both of them were quietly aware that Sam would be able to pass this final without Danny’s help, and that their studying sessions didn’t actually involve all that much studying anymore. They’d go to the library or a coffee shop or any kind of quiet establishment, pull out their folders and pencils and calculators, and then not touch them for the next couple of hours while they chatted. On a few occasions, Sam would shut down when the conversation got too close for him, and Danny knew that during those times he was waiting for Danny to go, but he never did. He’d pick a new topic, broach it carefully, and wait for Sam to warm back up to him. That unthinking kindness was a big part of why Sam actually started to feel comfortable opening up to Danny, even if it was only a little bit. It was also why Sam started to feel like he would do anything to get alone with Danny, such as feigning that he absolutely needed them to start meeting up twice a week more than once. Right before the actual test, Sam even considered inviting Danny over to his place to…not study, he wouldn’t get away with saying that’s why he wanted him over. That’s why he never ended up offering. Part of it was shame, honestly. He didn’t like the imagery of Danny, bright and clean, standing in the basement he called home and pretending to like it. Or even actually liking it, seeing as he seemed to like everything Sam pitched to him, even when it was a tale of arson or getting an unseemly tattoo in an unseemly place.
What it was, really, was that Sam wanted Danny alone because he had a big, fat crush on him. When he’d first seen Danny in class, he’d recognized him from school, sure, but his first thought was that he was absolutely drop dead gorgeous. So gorgeous that he looked entirely out of place hunched over his laptop in a stained t-shirt that he assumed doubled as his uniform for work. Sam wasn’t stupid, he knew that his look attracted his stares, and usually he loved the attention. But he felt uncharacteristically nervous when he began to notice that Danny’s eyes couldn’t stay off of him during class. In fact, even after becoming friends and becoming arguably close friends, he still felt nervous under Danny’s gaze. He wanted to keep his eyes on him at all times, and as the last day of class drew near, he was worried he was going to lose it. Sam knew he had to make a move. He just wasn’t sure how.
--
“Come over.”
Danny blinked.
“Hm?” Danny asked with a closed mouth, looking up from his paper to see that Sam wasn’t even looking at him. Sam was regarding the motor oil under his nails with great intensity.
“Come over,” Sam repeated, slowly and theatrically. “After the final tomorrow. We’ll party and lay a semester of unrelenting torment to rest.”
“Oh,” Danny replied dumbly, suddenly feeling very warm under the collar of his green sweater. “Yeah, sure, sounds fun. Should I bring anything?”
“Nah, I’ve got enough liquor to be deemed a public fire hazard,” Sam grinned, finally looking at Danny to flash him his teeth. “You’ll probably have to crash for the night, though. We’re going to get pretty fucked up.”
“Oh, are we?” Danny challenged with a smile of his own. “I don’t know how wild a two person party can get.”
“I’d invite other people but they wouldn’t understand the true heart of the party like we do,” Sam explained dryly. “You can pick what we watch.”
“Sweet,” Danny sang, his knee bouncing from jitters under the table. He couldn’t stop thinking about the prospect of sleeping in the same room as Sam. “Do I get to sleep on the couch, or is it a pillow and a blanket situation?”
“Whatever you want, bro,” Sam answered coolly, looking back to his nails. “All I know is you don’t get the bed.”
“You must be so proud of your twin size mattress.”
“Hey, she sees plenty of play,” Sam purred, blatantly lying. He winked and Danny rolled his eyes, landing his attention back on his paper.
“If ‘she’ saw plenty of play, you wouldn’t still have a twin,” Danny accused, his stomach turning at the thought of anyone other than him in that bed with Sam. Sam scoffed.
“Hey now, mattresses are expensive as fuck,” Sam argued, reaching a defensive headspace where his arms crossed and his lip curled. Danny loved it.
“True, true,” Danny humored him. “So, do I get to ride home with you on your big scary motorcycle or do I have to follow you in my car?”
“We’ll see if your excuse for a car can keep up with my Harley. I’ve been meaning to ask you to drag race, anyways.”
“My sheer spite would make my car go faster than your tricycle.”
“Tricycle?!”
Danny laughed as Sam flew into a sputtering tirade of defending his motorcycle, counting out bullet pointed arguments on his fingers as Danny sat there with a dopey smile on his face. Danny wondered if Sam had caught on to the fact that he fired him up just so he could watch him fizzle down. At the same time, Sam wondered if Danny knew how much he liked that he did that.
--
Danny’s nerves began to run wild about halfway through his final. Not because of any uncertainty at his answers, but because as time passed, he realized just how soon he’d be at Sam’s. He was worried about what he’d be like after a few drinks and finding himself completely alone with the man he’d begun to fantasize about more and more every day. Actually, he hadn’t thought of much else but what he was going to do about this hangout time with Sam, or rather, what he wanted to do. A gentle, almost innocent crush had morphed so quickly in such a short time, and his feelings were quickly developing in a way that kept his head filled with images of his hands on Sam’s hips and how Sam’s neck might look when covered in bruises. As one of those thoughts started to drift into his mind, his thoughts whispering about how it was a very real possibility, Danny’s pencil began to fly over his paper as he hurried to finish as fast as possible.
Sam didn’t keep Danny waiting for very long after he did finally turn in his final and hurry out into the hallway. Sam had dressed pretty nice for once, in his own uniquely Sam way. He had on a rumpled white shirt with a dark green leather jacket, paired with dark jeans that boasted only a few scuffs and minor rips. He stomped after Danny down the hall in heavy workmans boots.
“How was it for you?” Sam asked, his body language bordering on giddy as they burst out the doors into a chilly, biting breeze that immediately reddened both their cheeks and noses.
“Honestly? It was kind of easy,” Danny said brightly and Sam immediately let out a laugh, kicking an icy stick as they approached where they’d parked their respective vehicles nearby.
“I knew you’d say that, ugh,” Sam complained.
“What, was it hard for you?”
“No, it’s just more annoying when things are easy for you,” Sam explained. “‘Cause everything’s easy to you, so, like, duh, of course you thought it was easy.”
“Sorry for being smart?” Danny laughed apologetically.
“Yeah, you better be.”
Danny scoffed and Sam laughed, brushing a few stray leaves off the seat of his bike and straddling it. Danny’s breath caught slightly when Sam adjusted himself, his back arching for a few seconds before he settled down, fiddling with his gloves while Danny dragged his gaze away from the seat of his bike. They weren’t even at Sam’s yet, and he started to become really worried about his capacity for self control.
--
Danny worried again when they arrived at Sam’s grungy apartment building and he watched Sam flip his hair over his shoulder as he fumbled for his keys.
Danny worried some more when Sam insisted on standing sideways in the doorway to dramatically present his living room to him, so that Danny felt his chest drag against his upper arm as he squeezed past.
Danny worried the most in the moments right after the door closed. Sam pressed his back against the wood coquettishly while grinning softly at Danny, and Danny sort of floated out of himself when he felt his body turn on his heel and march right up to Sam. Sam’s eyes widened and his goofy introductory remarks died on his tongue as he looked up at Danny in puzzlement right before Danny gently palmed the side of his tattooed throat and brought his lips to Sam’s. And Sam, the rough edged, chain smoking, eye rolling, pain of a man immediately buckled at the knee and sighed into the contact, his rough hands grazing Danny’s neck before diving into his hair. Danny felt his entire body go blindingly white hot with nerves as he gasped and went in for another kiss, his jaw angling perfectly against Sam’s as he held him firmly against the door. Sam arched against the wood and into Danny’s touch, melting against whatever contact he could find on the taller man. After a minute of Sam writhing and Danny nearly blacking out from the pleasure of Sam’s soft lips on his own, Danny finally pulled away for a deep breath of air, maintaining frenzied eye contact with Sam as he watched him paw lightly at his neck and take gasping breaths.
“Hey,” Danny breathed, his voice raspy and shaking. “I’m sorry, I should have-”
“Took you fucking long enough,” Sam cut him off, his shining lips splitting into a wild smile. “I mean, fuckin’ A, man. I was starting to think I was reading into nothing.”
“Definitely not nothing,” Danny replied quietly. “A very nervous something.”
“Well, the something is mutual,” Sam grinned, giving Danny a proper up and down with his eyes and chuckling softly. “Very, very mutual.”
“Cool,” Danny said shyly, dipping his head to try and hide his smile, as if he hadn’t just slammed Sam against a door to steal a kiss.
“Come back,” Sam whined softly, grasping Danny by the collar of his corduroy jacket and pulling him back into his embrace. “Come on, don’t be a tease any more than you already are.”
“I’m a tease?” Danny asked with delighted disbelief, smiling into the contact of Sam beginning to kiss along his jaw and neck. “You were the one who was going to make me sleep on the floor tonight.”
“Oh, baby, you were never going to be sleeping on the floor,” Sam whispered in his ear, kissing his jaw and working his way up to giving Danny one, long kiss on the lips before speaking again. “I always get what I want.”
“You want me?” Danny asked against his lips, getting lost in the wide expanse of Sam’s dark eyes.
“You don’t know the half of it,” Sam purred, cupping Danny’s jaw and pulling him into a series of slow kisses while Danny’s mind continued to reel at Sam’s reciprocity. With Sam biting his lip and kissing it better in succession, along with his willowy fingers tracing down Danny’s chest, Danny was honestly beginning to find it hard that this wasn’t a miracle from the universe. Or maybe some kind of dream that he’d fallen into without realizing. He couldn’t even begin to comprehend that this scenario was exactly what Sam had been picturing for their evening the entire time.
Once Sam’s tongue made its way into Danny’s mouth, adding warmth and licking smoothly, Danny started to hurriedly shrug off his jacket and toss it blindly behind him before starting to work Sam’s off of him. It exposed the patchwork of tattoos along Sam’s arms, tigers and daggers and snakes in the traditional style popping against the white of his shirt. To his surprise, Sam’s hands left Danny’s cheeks and boldly slid up under his sweater, causing Danny to flinch and yelp at the feeling of Sam’s ice cold fingers on his warm skin. Sam giggled, still keeping their lips locked together as he grabbed at Danny’s waist and sides, his hands unable to stay in one place. Matching Sam’s reckless abandon, Danny suddenly bent at the knee and hooked his arms around Sam’s thighs, boosting him into the air. Sam hummed into his mouth, crossing his legs behind Danny’s back and snaking his hands out from under Danny’s sweater to tangle back into his curls.
“My bedroom is the door behind you to the right,” Sam mumbled breathlessly, fidgeting slightly against Danny’s firm front.
“That’s awful forward of you,” Danny flirted, taking a moment to breathe and appreciate the weight of Sam in his arms, holding him up with very little effort. This could come in handy.
“Well, do you want to fuck me or not?” Sam scoffed, a further blush flushing his face as he said it. His pupils completely swallowed up the warm brown of his iris as he stared expectantly at Danny, who had to take a second to concentrate on not cumming in his jeans right then and there.
“Yes, god, yes,” Danny answered quickly, immediately starting a slow, backwards walk towards Sam’s bedroom as Sam grinned wolfishly and descended on Danny’s mouth hungrily again.
Eventually, they fumbled their way into the bedroom, Sam closing the door behind them before Danny dropped him on the bed and climbed over him. Danny considered continuing with his conquest, but he found himself looking up to observe his surroundings. Sam’s bedroom was small, with wrinkled posters and flyers for basement shows and concerts peppering the gray walls. There were clothes all over the floor, along with the butts of cigarettes and a myriad of worn out sneakers and boots. Sam watched Danny’s expression carefully as he assessed the mess that was his room, his eyes tracking the pattern on his quilt before smiling at Sam again.
“It’s cute in here,” Danny declared, looking at a string of lights taped to the borders of the walls while Sam blinked in surprise at his words.
“No, it’s not,” Sam muttered, looking around his room and seeing only the disregard for his own environment in the mess he’d created.
“Nah, it’s all very you,” Danny explained, looking at the room and seeing the person behind it all. He imagined Sam wobbling on a stool to paint the walls their moody gray, or pulling his quilt out of a box and smoothing it lovingly over the sheets, wondering if it had been made for him by a relative or hand picked from a thrift shop with a curated eye. It was all painfully adorable to him. It was all so…Sam.
Sam saw the adoring shine in Danny’s crinkled, hazel eyes and felt all his seductive confidence fly out the window, only able to bat his lashes up at him and marvel.
“You really don’t think I’m a scuzzball, do you?” Sam asked with a note of amused realization, his sentence lifting into a slight one note laugh.
“Never have,” Danny answered honestly, cocking his head at Sam while smiling warmly. “I mean, you can pretend all you want, but I know you’re not who you pretend to be. You’re just…”
“What?” Sam challenged, slightly defensive of the persona he’d worked hard to maintain over the years, and also slightly embarrassed that Danny had seen through it so effortlessly.
“You’re just you, I guess,” Danny shrugged as best he could while holding his weight on his elbows, still hovering over Sam’s reclined body. “And that’s not very scary to me.”
Sam was silent for a minute, unsure of what to say to that. Initially, he’d been annoyed that Danny was so nice to him, figuring the other shoe would drop at any time and he’d reveal his worst intentions. This was a pattern Sam was accustomed to. But Danny really meant what he said. He didn’t just see through Sam, he saw him fully, and Sam realized with a relieved jolt that he had never really been annoyed about it. He was grateful.
But Sam was still very much in a certain state of mind, and his body reminded him of it when he looked down and saw how his crotch had lifted to press against Danny’s without his realizing. He figured maybe there was a certain way he could show Danny just how grateful he was.
“Why don’t you show me just how scary you can be?” Sam invited lowly, his hand returning to Danny’s cheek as his thumb swiped over Danny’s bottom lip. This small action seemed to remind Danny of how they’d ended up here, and Sam watched with restrained delight as Danny’s eyes glazed over slightly.
“What do you want?” Danny asked quietly, adjusting and hovering further over Sam, his look of genuine caring slowly morphing into something almost predatory as he smiled. His hair fell around them, the rest of the world falling away.
“I already told you,” Sam pointed out haughtily. “I want you.”
“I’m getting kind of tired of your attitude,” Danny fired back. “You know I want specifics.”
“Is that what you want? Specifics? Not me?” Sam grinned cheekily, enjoying pressing Danny’s buttons even more now that he was getting the idea that he’d be rewarded for it. Danny rolled his eyes and shook his head at Sam.
“Be that way,” Danny hummed, straightening and sitting hard on Sam’s lap, causing him to let out a strangled whine as Danny pulled his sweater off. “Guess I’ll just call the shots.”
Sam really wanted to conjure up a fiery retort, but his mind went fuzzy and blank at the sight of Danny with his shirt off, his broad chest exposed and his smile cocky and triumphant as he watched Sam flounder wordlessly. Sam became even more aware of the strain in his jeans when his eyes traveled downward and he caught sight of the trail of dark hair just over the waistband of Danny’s pants.
“Do you even know how much I like you?” Danny started, casually undoing the clasp of his watch and leaning to the side to drop it on Sam’s bedside table while Sam propped himself up on his elbows. “I literally thought I was going to flunk the class because you were so distracting.”
“I didn’t even talk to you,” Sam said simply, barely audible.
“Didn’t need to,” Danny affirmed. “My mind did most of the distracting stuff.”
“Like what?” Sam prodded, tipping his chin up to stare unrelentingly at Danny in a pathetic attempt to regain control. Danny, taking advantage of this surprising burst of dominance that Sam seemed to give him, gently grasped Sam’s chin.
“Well, initially, I had all these ideas of how we’d end up kissing for the first time,” Danny explained. “Shockingly, none of them ended up being how it went, but I’m glad I had options. And, I mean, those ideas just sort of developed over time. I’d wake up and be all surprised that I’d cum in my pants and not on you.”
Sam’s jaw hung open and Danny shut it gently for him, his body pulsing with heat as his adrenaline raced in his veins.
“You gonna teach me some more, hm?” Sam finally managed to say, straining to try and steal a kiss. “Or do you want me to lead?”
“I’d like to see you try,” Danny grinned, pushing Sam onto his back. Sam, breathless, watched Danny move his hands down to Sam’s aching groin and begin to undo his pants, fingers shaking with anticipation. Sam pushed his hair off his forehead and pressed his covered dick into Danny’s hand after his pants had been tugged down to his knees, not speaking but letting a needling whimper escape that made Danny smile.
“What are we going to do with you, Sam?” Danny teased, running his thumb up and down Sam’s concealed length.
“Danny,” Sam choked out as Danny took his hands off of Sam and began to unzip his own pants. The lack of touch was almost unbearable at that moment. “Come on, fuck me, please.”
“That could look like a lot of things,” Danny said absently, freeing his dick and palming it casually, letting out a slow sigh of relief. Sam stared unabashedly at Danny’s impressive and admittedly intimidating length. He’d fantasized about what he might expect, but the real thing was almost overwhelming. But he knew what he needed.
“In me,” Sam whispered, his tone bordering on longing. “Please. I can take it.”
“You can?” Danny questioned, trying to keep up his domineering tone despite the wind being knocked out of his lungs at Sam’s request. “Have you been getting ready for me?”
“Maybe,” Sam admitted quietly. He took a dangerous leap with what he said next. “But those randos don’t even hold a candle to you.”
Danny flinched, jealousy immediately rolling over him in cold waves as his mind started to conjure up disgusting imagery of Sam on his back for anybody other than him. It must have translated into his expression without his knowledge because Sam’s open mouth twisted into a smug smile, arching an eyebrow at Danny. It was a dare, and Danny dared to prove himself.
“Shut up before I make you,” Danny snarled, challenging Sam to call him out for being all bark and no bite. But Sam obediently shut his trap, lowering himself slightly on his elbows and spread his legs ever so slightly, inviting Danny in without a word.
--
“So…was I better than those other ‘randos’ stretching you out?”
“Oh, for fuck’s sake, I was joking.”
Sam’s whole body was in absolute, delicious agony, his face buried into the crook of Danny’s neck. He attempted to even out his breathing, his throat raw and his chest tired after all the pornographic moans and whimpers that had escaped him when Danny had driven into him with varying amounts of mercy over the course of what felt like hours. Sam’s shoulders were already blooming with a score of bruises where Danny had left teeth marks, anchoring himself to Sam in animalistic moments of passion when he threatened to finish far too early. Danny’s body was aching too, his abs and hips tense and his shoulders in their own pain from holding himself up for so long. It had been worth it to keep the sight of Sam’s gasps and fluttering eyes, and he was certain he had enough material in his mind's eye to keep him satisfied in his own personal endeavors for weeks. Danny brushed his fingers lightly up and down Sam’s spine, his lips pressed to the crown of Sam’s head as they laid in silence, recovering.
“Do you want to hear something crazy?” Sam said, his voice muffled by Danny’s scorching hot skin.
“Sure,” Danny replied, giving Sam’s hair a quick kiss after he said it.
“I used to have a crush on you in high school.”
“What!” Danny blurted, attempting to push Sam’s shoulder up so he could see his face, but Sam buried his head even further into Danny’s neck. “Explain!”
“I just did!” Sam laughed, his voice still muted. “It wasn’t anything serious but, yeah, I guess you were kind of my hallway crush. It’s no big deal.”
“Wow,” Danny said dreamily. “And look where you are now. How exciting for you.”
“Shut up!” Sam groaned, finally lifting his head and giving Danny a fake frown, his face glowing and flushed. Danny mocked his frown back to him, laughing at his expression and tucking a sweaty strand of hair behind his ear.
“I definitely thought you were cute,” Danny smiled. “I was super into emo haircuts.”
“I hate you,” Sam deadpanned, looking unamused.
“Is that why you just let me cum in y-”
Sam pressed his palm over Danny’s mouth, muffling his subsequent laugh. Sam let out an exasperated sigh and leaned over to reach into an opened drawer of his bedside table, items rattling out of sight until he emerged with his prize: Marlboro Reds. Sam bit down on a cigarette and slid out another to offer it to Danny, who wrinkled his nose at it initially but took it between his fingers anyways, studying it while Sam pulled free the lighter and rolled onto his back next to Danny.
“You ever smoked?” Sam asked, lighting his cigarette and taking a deep inhale while Danny shook his head no. Sam blew out a thick cloud of smoke before rolling onto his front, taking the cigarette out of Danny’s hand and sticking it in Danny’s mouth himself. Danny wanted to protest, but froze when Sam leaned over and pressed the tip of his lit cigarette to Danny’s, both of them silent save for the crackling of the paper and tobacco as Danny’s cigarette began to glow. He took a hesitant inhale, letting the heady warmth settle on his tongue before he began to cough, sitting up sharply and choking on a cloud of smoke while Sam chuckled and patted him on the back.
“You’ll get there,” Sam assured him through laughs.
“I don’t know if I wanna get there,” Danny wheezed, letting the cigarette fizzle between his fingers instead of taking a second drag.
“You don’t have to, just figured I’d give you a taste of the wild side,” Sam grinned, the cigarette dangling attractively from his bottom lip.
“You’ve given me more than a taste of that,” Danny said with a wink. Sam chuckled again, blowing smoke out of the side of his mouth as he stared with glittering eyes at Danny.
“I like you,” Sam said simply, conjuring the innocent butterflies in Danny’s stomach.
“Thank you,” Danny answered shyly and Sam immediately slapped his arm.
“Say it back!”
“I like you!” Danny laughed, slapping Sam back. “You knew that!”
“Yeah, but I like hearing you say it,” Sam hummed proudly.
“You’re weird.”
“You’re weirder.”
“You’re the weirdest,” Danny teased, taking another more careful inhale of his cigarette and releasing it with only a mild clearing of his throat. “Ooh, look, I’m learning.”
“Maybe I had something to teach you after all,” Sam smiled. “I guess I never really needed to bribe you into helping me, huh?”
“Not at all,” Danny said. “But I’m enjoying the reward of just you.”
Sam’s smile widened and Danny smiled right back at him. It suddenly seemed so ridiculous that there had ever been a time when he was afraid to speak to Sam. How could he have looked at his puppy dog eyes and cute shaggy hair and not dragged him into his lap right then and there? Danny figured he had time to rectify that, doing just that and catching Sam in a smoky kiss, suddenly thrilled about all the things that they could continue to teach each other.
'And that concludes today's class. Please start working on your projects in due time. Delays will not be tolerated.'
With that the once quiet classroom began to bustle with life and chatter, students shuffling out their seats and towards the doors in search of food, coffee, some dashing to get to their next class.
And you..you were stuck in your seat, cursing whichever fate decided to play tricks on you.
Belphegor is still fast asleep besides you, dark hair falling over his eyes as he nuzzles his face into his folded arms. You never understood what kind of gall he must have, to nap so openly in the front row of the class.
You were tempted to pinch your friend awake. Still, you had more pressing matters to attend to.
Turning your attention to the back of the class, up to the final row of seats you take note of him; he's sat there, his feet crossed and sprawled over the seat in front of him, his phone blocking your view to his face, though you could picture what kind of expression he must've been sporting; blue eyes focused on whichever gambling game took hold of his attention for the day, white hair fluffy and juxtaposing his dark skin, lips in a lazy smirk as he looked over his winnings.
Of all the people in this class, why did you have to be paired with the one person you knew, instinctively, you could never get along with?
Still, the decision has been made-and gathering the last bit of your resolve, you gather your bag and get out of your seat, heading up the stairs towards your fate, who was still oblivious to your presence.
You come to a halt besides him, planting your feet securely to the ground, chin held high.
Many would've been intimidated to be talking to one of 'the campus' demons'. This family's notoriety was well known amongst your peers, how these seven brothers were all named after demons, how each of them was more peculiar than the other.
And yet in their oddness there's intrigue, and people can't help but be fascinated with the lot. From the eldest brothers stoic ruby eyes, to the sleepy younger brother you've somehow befriended, everyone in campus peers at them with a sense of curiosity, the weird becomes popular, and every single person wants a glimpse into their devilish world.
Still, you're not intimidated. You've somehow befriended half their family, after all.
You clear your throat, waiting for Mammon to show any sign of recognition. He doesn't. Instead he furrows his brows, taps harder at his phone screen.
You take a step closer-can smell his sandalwood cologne and catch a glimpse of his screen-todays' gamble's Blackjack, it seems.
'Mammon?'
He clicks his tongue. Doesn't turn to look at you.
'What?' is all he says, short and curt, tone rivaling Satan's, back when you first met him.
'I'm Y/N. We got paired up for the project. Can you put your phone down for a minute so we can discuss it?'
He steals a glance your way and groans.
'Ugh, seriously? Of all the people I had to get paired with the biggest nerd in class?!'
He maintains his air of nonchalance through it all, promptly returning his attention back to his phone- grating your nerves further. What the fuck-what the actual fuck? Who does this dude think he is?
He's met his match, it seems, when you don't back down from the challenge-instead you lean closer, planting yourself between him and the view to his phone screen.
'Okay, listen here', you start, 'I did not ask to be paired up with you, and to be quite blunt, I'm not that fond of you either dude. But the pairing's final, and neither of us can do anything about it, except get it over with as quickly as possible, and then go our separate ways. Okay?'
He falters at that-at your close proximity, at your words, you're not sure-still, you hold his gaze, unfazed by the swirling golden hues dipped in blue and the strong angles of his face. You really, really don't care, you convince yourself, even as you feel your pulse quicken.
'I-Okay, fine' he resigns, sighs when you lean back away from him with a nod.
He clicks his tongue, shuffles in his seat to stand up, flings his backpack over his shoulder as he does. He towers over you, but you hold your ground, squaring your jaw and turning your head up to look him in the eye.
'So. What do we do then?'
You hum. You uh..hadn't thought ahead that far.
You're quick to think up a plan though, not willing to let this man catch you offguard.
'Give me your phone number' you say, 'and let's plan when and where to meet up so we can start working on the project and dividing the work. Is Saturday okay for you?'
You go through the details of the when and where with him, saving his phone number in your phone under his full name.
'Is that all? Can I leave now?' he asks with a grumble and you nod, staring daggers at his retreating figure when he dashed away without as much as a goodbye.
You look back to your phone screen, where his contact page is gleaming in your phone.
You change his name to 'Mammon :|' in one final act of defiance.
You can't wait to get this project over with.
The frustrating thing about insomnia is for some reason everyone thinks it’s like
10pm: *decides to stay up and do random bullshit all night* *sleeps until noon*
And I will admit! Sometimes that is it. Sometimes it is a choice. I’m human sometimes i make choices that upset or are disagreeable to others
But equally likely it’s literally like:
10pm. Do some stuff while it’s quiet.
Midnight: try to sleep. Unable to sleep. Frustrated. You are literally yawning. Why are you not asleep? Why is it so easy for everyone else? Toss and turn until the frustration drives you out of bed
1 am: Go and do something for a little while.
3 am: try to sleep again. Still no sleep. You desperately change positions a dozen times, knowing it won’t matter but hoping that maybe if you turn your arms at the exact right angle it’ll activate a cheat code that will put you to sleep.
4-5 am: feel the sands of time ticking away. The frustration is coming back, not just because you didn’t sleep but also now you know that you’re either going to sleep all day or be exhausted and unfunctional. So not only did you just waste several hours of your life not sleeping you are now going to lose several more. +20 stress and frustration if you have school or job in the morning.
5:30 am: give up and decide to try and pull an all nighter. Go eat breakfast and take meds.
6 am: do something for like an hour. It’s never productive because your brain is fried from exhaustion.
Rest of the day: struggle to stay awake. If you have a class or job in the morning you can maybe get through it on pure adrenaline but you won’t remember any of it. If you have anything later than 10 am you’re in serious danger of missing it because you suddenly passed out at 8:30 and your max volume alarm was insufficient to awaken you from your exhaustion. Even if you make it through everything you need to do that day At some point you will probably take a nap and wake up just in time to do the whole thing again
*good news, if you have nothing today you’ll sleep great! Bad news, you will be called a lazy bastard by your family, and/or genuinely concern them. You’re not sure which is worse.
All in all you end up only sleeping like. 6 hours max sporadically every 24 hrs, and wasting another 6+ hours trying to sleep, plus more time being unable to do anything because you’re too tired
It’s very frustrating!!! And sometimes you can tell it’s going to be one of Those Nights even though you took the sleepy time gummies so you give up on sleeping after 2 hours of trying instead of 6, but then everyone thinks you’re doing it on purpose
Anyway in unrelated news it’s 1:42 in the morning, i already took melatonin hours ago and I cannot sleep
Sour Legacy Save 002
As the sun rose in Copperdale, Gray stepped off the bus and accidentally bumped shoulders with the kid who’d gotten off before. him. “Sorry, dude.”
The stranger turned and Gray saw the sweetest pair of brown eyes in existence. “Don’t worry about it. You new?” New kids stuck out like sore thumbs, everyone seemed to know everyone already as the gaggle of voices from the students around them ebbed and flowed with excitement, joy, and gossip.
“Is it that obvious?” Gray blushed, almost mad that he was even blushing.
“Don’t worry about it, it’s nice to meet you. I’m Shane.” God, what a name...
“I’m Gray,” he said, and gave him an awkward but warm smile. A handshake felt too formal, too adult.
They headed into class as the bell rang and called them in. He was happy to see Shane in his first block class, even though the sight of him was incredibly distracting. You’re not here to be friends with people. You’re here until you’re good enough to drop out and do music full time.
An ear-shattering alarm pierced his thoughts and his body jolted in his chair. “Fire drill,” the teacher announced. “Everyone evacuate to the muster point.”
Gray didn’t know where the hell that is, he’d been too busy talking to Shane to go through the new student orientation with the Principal. He followed the sea of students out the main doors and towards the bus drop off point, where the firefighters were waiting. If it’s a drill why are they here? He dismissed that thought, it still could’ve been a planned thing. He milled about on his own until it was time to go back into the building.
Drowsiness hit him like a train and he stopped in a quiet hallway to rest. I’ll close my eyes for a minute, get some water, and go to class. He woke up to the principal shaking him awake half an hour later.
“Why are you sleeping in the hallway, Mr. Taylor?”
Gray’s blood ran cold. I can’t tell her or they’ll try and find my parents. “I uh- just wasn’t feeling well.”
“I don’t buy it. You’ll have to make up the class time in detention.” Gray had to force his jaw to stay upright. Detention, on the first day?!
“It won’t happen again,” he tried to plead.
“Be sure of it, Mr. Taylor. Detention is at 3:30.”
Gray grumbled to himself and went to the bathroom to hide until class is over. “Fucking detention,” he muttered under his breath, wishing he had a cigarette.
Detention turned out not to be so bad. No teacher arrived to wrangle the class so Gray pulled out his guitar and practised. Nobody cussed him out, which made him feel a lot better about his skill progress. Maybe everyone was too busy gossiping about people Gray didn’t know, but that was fine too. He was happy to be left alone to do his own thing.
He left school after detention was over, he had been so caught up in his guitar he hadn’t noticed it was well past 5. He packed up and started walking for the bus. That’s when the sleepy library occurred to him. I bet no one would care if I took a nap there.
He was right, not a single person bothered Gray as he slept in on the comfortable library furniture. It was way cozier in there than at school or the gym. He missed having blankets, one day I’ll have a blanket for every day of the month. The soothing sound of quiet voices and the librarian typing at her computer on the main floor were his lullabies. He dreamt of stardom, of a family that was proud of him, and of the cute boy from school with the beautiful brown eyes.
(1) I then started.
I dreamed a lot while sleeping, before waking up. The day's too cold this time. Dreams activate for me whenever I sleep for the 2nd time. First thing that came to mind, going out of bed, was to finish my rough drafts for our upcoming report in college. But our freaking potato shid PC sucks, it died 2 times while writing for my stuffs. Thank goodness my brother was a geek in fixing that PC of ours, cus he was using my laptop for his classes as well. I waited for him for like 30 min or so. He decently plugged out & in the ram stick and brushed off some dust inside the CPU.
Then tenen, it was fixed, it doesn't die anymore. In the middle of doing it, Goddamnit, I felt something. It came * facepalm * my freaking ketchup days ( basically red days for gurls, u know what I mean * wink * ). Thankfully after that, me and my partner for the report finished the drafts that were going to put for the PowerPoint.
It was decent, and thank thy thee's I will be able to take a breather, my pending works wouldn't be that much because I was already getting dizzy from low blood and migraine because of the ketchup volcano and my blurry vision. Then my bf dm'ed me uwu hoho. What a motivation for me. We talked ofc and I am going to keep those momental gems huehue. Then I washed the dishes, my mom asked for me to chop the recipes for our upcoming dinner, and then I took a nap.
I got interrupted again from the cold, slept in 5pm - 7pm and got woken up by cold. It was a climate change from our country. The cold that was supposed to be in December, got delayed and moved to January to February haha. Crazy. I know.
Then I saw my favorite author, posting the promotion of his book 2 collector's edition. Even though I still wanted to sleep, I watched it because I love his book. It was also illustrated from amazing artist that's why I was also entertained. I love art. My sleepy head got away because of it but I'm so sad because I don't haaavveee enoughh money huhu. To buy that edition :< .
My boyfie chatted again, welp ofc. Babe time again. Omo. He really wanted to date again but I am having my ketchup days and I'm so very not in the mood and I have class tomorrow. But still.. I agreed, we're all gonna die anyways haha why not spend the time right, we never know what comes after some days. I told him as well this time that I dreamed about him us riding a bike something etc.. we nearly got into an accident in that dream. He compared it to his dream as well before, same thing happened and same place. He said that dreams are indeed weird. I agreed.
It was an exhausting day. I am still badly craving for sleep and french fries. Life is short. I hope mine would be shorter tomorrow XD.
TW: VENT, B/P
I woke up late for an fun event saw text from the friend I was suppose to go with. went to the 2nd event instead. Saw the Ginger Mop headed freak from the wellness check. GOt my duo's order wrong too. IN line I got nervous and there was too many people.
Was able to briefly hangout with my friend because they got caught up in Stardew Valley. But I felt bad because I felt like I was just venting the whole time about shitty roommates before they had to go to study for a Calc quiz.
Walk back to see Sorority girl's MOTHER right there in the living room.
Skampered off to notify my duo about it, and just as I was about to ask my duo if it was just a glitch in the roommate group chat, I get a call.
And the user used my PREFERRED name. WHich is a big deal because only people close to me know that shit, but they were also from the school. Mental health president or something.
I had to have a 20 MINUTE fucken conversation with them to convince them I'm not mentally ill or going to kill myself so YIPPEE. And I convinced them to email me instead of call. So I might have to become buddy buddy with them just because BITCHES won't leave me the FUCK ALONE and kept filling out fucken reports on my ass.
So game plan is be kind of buddy buddy with them so I can squash shit faster, by just telling them people be moving mad and trying to start shit.
For some reason after this phone call it overloaded my bitch ass and a bitch started sobbing like full on loud as crying. I texted and called up my crib sibling full sobbing over the phone bout how I just wanted ONE FUCKEN DAY that when right before exams. Told her about what happened over choked crying and shit.
Recovered like a motherfucker likee cringed at how much I bitched out like. Then we had a normal call update on each others lives. She's so fucken nice.
Ate half of a protein bar. Apparently all protein bars from this brand even though they don't have milk in them just rip the shit out of my stomach, I felt so bad for the person in the other stall. and I was lowkey really embarassed. Heated up some food in the Apartment Center microwave. Open the door to Psych Major's boyfriend at the kitchen table. He had the audacity to say Hi to me.
I just walked back to my room and and my shitty rice and fried tofu. Got sleepy and took a whole ass nap. Had a weird ass dream about my duo.
Barely got myself up in time for my online Stat class. Roommates and I think some friends were SO LOUD.
I drank too much liquids inbetween this time, but I don't want to go back outside my room.
I literally had to explain everything to this person on the phone about how I harmfully stim, I nervous barf when I'm stressed or nervous about presentations, I'm not manic it was just best way I tried to describe being really excited/amped up as a person with ADHD and not the best phrasing Yes I know, but ESL bitch
I asked who it was. it DEFINITELY was my shitty RA just because I didn't want to do the stupid Chat Check Up with him and he's being a petty bitch. because I asked and full name dropped his as and the person on the line full on paused trying to cover for his bitch ass.
"I think this person just wants the best for you" like Bitch PLEASE
the ONLY times I mentioned the word manic, head bang stimming was DURING that shit fest of a Roomdial Meeting. so IT's FUCKING HIM.
I have NEVER be Fuck with this much directly since like EVER like shit's happened to other people around me that I care for that fucked me up a bit worrying about them and 1 major direct blow back, but shit this CONSTANT over and over and over shit? Never
Like bitches be dick riding me so much like hop off me I'm ace motherfucker.
and the vomit shit I can't burp properly a lot of the time so I just gag a lot instead. like not even on an ed shit but just in general I have 1 too many sips of liquid or food voms like bro I explained this to the RA during the MEeting HIS BITCHASS WAS NOT LISTENING
I swear every bad thing or inconvenience that happens to me this month is racist. During MY MONTH. AAPI month?! BiTCHHHH fuck off.
TW: Vent
Love my friend but she is so shit at giving advice through text.
This it why I should just stick to the status quo, stay in my lane. Tumblr vent post just satiate that screaming need... well and also a blasting music jam session but ye
Fuck my roommates they all suck. They have a guest that stayed the night stole my soap dispenser and put it on their side. (There's 2 sinks.) But they used our sink. Like WHAT? Not to mention the passive aggressive bullshit of over sending information already given. Like we were so chill about it. Like hey maybe don't bring a stranger into the apartment to stay the night WITHOUT TELLING US. BUT NOOOOO THAT'S TOO MUCH FOR THEM.
Now they passive aggressive text in the group chat like this gem
"Once again, my friend is staying over tonight she is sleeping in the living room"
Like am I crazy or saying "Once again" is passive aggressive.
I feel like I'm going insane.
They had to have told them that which is our sink. There's no way they didn't.
I feel like I'm going insane. It's proper roommate etiquette to assume that if THEY have someone over they are going to be using THeir stuff on their side. Am I crazy for that?
Bro, I haven't even stepped outside at any time the guest has been here, but them sending that "once again" text in the middle of them already being here? Like both of them know that I don't ever really leave the apartment and my fucken lights are on in my room tonight so am I crazy for thinking the "once again" message was a pointed intentional passive aggressive diss?
Whatever I don't care anymore. I hope they get chemical burns /irritated skin from using the rigged soap dispenser because WE HAD TO HIDE OUR OTHER SOAP DISPENSER because they wouldn't stop using ours even after telling them politely to use their own and use their own sink. LIKE BRO IT'S NOT THAT FUCKEN HARD
Hello, How do you think Leona would deal with a s/o who finds him in one of his hiding spots, him sleeping. s/o stares at the back of his head and then goes over. They wake him up and are like “can I join you? 🥺” If he allows, s/o is small, soft and warm when they sleep cuddle?
Hi! This is so cute, I love wholesome scenarios so much. Thank you for the ask!
Reader joining Leona for a nap
You had finished the test early that day, and Trein allowed you to leave class. It was nice to have the history exam past you, and you remember seeing some students look at you with sad eyes that they weren’t free to leave the classroom yet. You gave them a quick “good luck” nod before stepping out into the hallway. You were a student from Savanaclaw, and you had been one of the few students unafraid of their housewarden. Even with your small physique, you managed to outdo some of your peers in strength. It wasn’t that long ago since you showed how strong you were to your house.
“You were the one that took the last piece of that chicken, right?!” one of the Savanaclaw students shouted at you last week.
“You were just late to lunch, don’t blame it on me,” you said, trying to hurry to your dorm before they tried to attack you. But it was too late since the student didn’t look like they wanted to miss a chance to fight you.
“Talking back to me now, huh? How about I shut you up realquick!” he hurled a fist in your direction but before he could land a hit, you dodged him and grabbed his arm. Turning your heels away from him, you threw him to the ground. The rest of the dorms seemed to cheer the fight on, while you just wanted to apologize for how hard you threw him down.
“Y/n, right?” a hyena student said to the housewarden who was standing next to him. The two were watching you from a distance.
“Yeah, I didn’t think they would manage to beat him so quickly,” Leona replied. He took interest in you from there.
Leona and you weren’t that close though you were in the same grade. The two of you talked a bit as you entered the Spelldrive club and showed how strong you were there too. At some point, you two became friends, then eventually started to date. No one saw it coming with how soft you were compared to the intimidating force that was Leona. But what made Leona like you so much was how you showed him respect and care. He was never treated with so much admiration or love before, so you being in his life was a big deal.
Right now, you were heading for the botanical garden, knowing that Leona would likely be there instead of attending Flight class with Vargas. Leona had multiple areas where he could hide from teachers, but his favorite during the afternoon seemed to be the garden, so you went looking there first.
The weather inside was the right amount of humid and warm, enough to make you sleepy too. Going through the many shrubs and flowers, you eventually saw a pair of lion ears pointing out from behind a large leaf.
He’s in the same spot as always, you thought to yourself. You smiled to yourself before quietly walking up to him.
Once you were close enough to see his face, you realized he was sleeping. You weren’t sure if waking him up from a nap would be good, but you also didn’t want to just leave him here. You missed him during the day after all!
“Leona?” you crouched down, eventually sitting next to him. He wasn’t looking at you.
“Leona,” you repeated, a bit louder this time. Still no response.
You huffed, then decided to poke him. You continued to jab him lightly on his cheek for a few seconds before he finally looked at you with tired eyes.
“Herbivore, what do you want?” he yawned, closing his eyes again.
“I just finished my test,” you started, leaning your head on his shoulder. He didn’t respond but you could tell he was listening.
“I wanted to see you so I came here. I think I know your nap routine now,” you continued while looking up at the glass tiles on the ceiling of the garden. The skies were so pretty today.
“Hm,” he nodded, he looked like was ready to sleep again. “If that’s all you came for, you can go now.”
“I actually wanted to ask you something as well,” you turned to face him while still keeping your head on his shoulder.
“Go on,” he mumbled.
“Is it okay if I stay and nap here too?”
He seemed surprised by this, opening his eyes and looking at you.
“How interesting, I thought you weren’t the type to snooze during the day.”
“I’m tired from the test.”
He paused, emerald eyes looking at your e/c ones. Then he put an arm around you and yawned again.
“Just don’t wake me up.”
You smiled, happy that you were able to spend time with Leona. You leaned into him a bit more, closing your eyes and allowing yourself to loosen your muscles a bit.
Leona will never admit it, but he likes having you by his side. He notices how soft and small you are next to him, yet you have the power to beat everyone else in the Spelldrive club. He will notice that while you are sleeping, you hug him like he’s a pillow. You won’t see it because your eyes are closed, but he smirks a bit thinking how lucky he is to have such a nice s/o. He might use you as a pillow too!
Eventually you two are woken up by the potions class that came in for a lab.
“Lovebirds, go sleep somewhere else,” you hear a sharp voice in your direction. You rub your eyes and look to see who it is.
“Seriously, I get that you two enjoy company, but I need to use the plants behind you,” it was Vil.
Then, you remember. Vil has class right after lunch, which means you skipped out completely for food and now you were late to your own class.
But what made you more shocked was the fact that Leona was more or less sprawled on you. He had a tight grip around you and was in deep sleep.
“L-Leona, I need to go,” you patted his head. He woke up in a bit, and quickly jumped away from you realizing what he was doing, especially in front of someone else.
“Ugh,” Leona looked up at Vil, who was smiling at you two.
“I’ve never seen you act so soft before,” Vil commented towards Leona.
“Shut up,” he grumbled, getting up and you following him. “I’m going back to my room, see ya.”
With that, he was leaving while you were running to your class. It was a soft moment for you and Leona, and the housewarden would be lying if he said he didn’t want to have you cuddled next to him the next time you find him napping.
TWISTED WONDERLAND x PALACE PETS
NAP TIME BUDDIES {SILVER x DREAMY MC, ft. DIASOMNIA)
🐲DIASOMNIA🐲
It was during P.E. that you and Silver first meet.
The 2nd year has gone fast to sleep under a shaddy tree after he's turn in the field was over.
Coincidentally, you were also on the same spot, sleeping on a bed of flowers that were beside the same tree, along with Silver.
How you got into Twisted Wonderland was a mystery.
But it might have to do with a magical mishap that has happened to the magical glass windows when the Palace pets tries to go back to their respected Princesses.
Since you were in a forest, you did questioned why you were there instead of Princess Aurora's Castle that you always go back to.
Though sleepiness quickly grabed a hold of you when you had spot a perfect place for a nice cat nap.
A short one perhaps, you had thought, but that was three hours ago.
Silver continued to sleep some until he's about to wake up, yet he felt something grazing he's arm that had completely awoken him.
Looking down, he saw a Rosy tail on a bed roses.
And with that tail, he saw a body of a pink kitten with a bow wrapped around its tail, a golden crown ontop of it's head and a pearl colar with a pink pandent that has a crown on it.
It continously purrs softly during it's catnap.
Silver was kinda shock to be honest.
He had never seen a kittan that is pink before.
Yes, he had forest friends like birds some deers that sometimes came to him.
But never a kitten before.
Yet he knew better than to awake a sleeping cat so he tried to get up and leave you to your dreams as to not disturb you.
But uh oh.
You were already woken up when you had felt a shift where it was near you.
You slowly blinked your eyes slowly, adjusting to the light of being awake from your slumber.
That was when you had saw Silver when you had turn to him.
The 2nd year was taken back at your sudden awakening.
He had expected you to arch your back and hiss upon seeing him and be angry at him for awakening your catnap.
But you didnt.
Instead you just yawned very cutely and crawl ontop of he's lap, which had suprise him.
Soon after that, you two became best friends.
You two would always take a nice catnap on a nice spot that you had picked just for the two of you to sleep in.
And you even help him directed he's attention on staying awake which is a great help for him.
Lilia was overjoyed at meeting Silver's new friend when he had brought you to the dorm.
He was even more overjoyed that you sometimes help Silver during classes to wake him up before he could even dream of dreaming into sleepy land
Though, those were times when you ARE awake.
The guardian cant help but tease he's son that he had found he's twin, considering how you two always have catnaps whenever you guys feel like it.
Heck, the old man even made a diasomnia collar for you to wear.
Malleus approves of this friendship of yours.
He even took a great liking to you.
Animals were always frightened of him so he was shock when you had approach him and purred against him.
He loves whenever you two have walks togather under the moon light, and whenever you are asleep, you were always on he's lap as he listen to your urrs that accompany the silent night.
Sebek kinda approves aswell.
Though he sometimes complains of you always sleeping very loudly, he appreciates how you had help in protecting he's master as being some kind of guard to him and always keep Silver on he's toes.
Majority of the school even called both you and Silver the "Sleeping Twins" on how they constantly see the two of you sleepibg togather.
Silver kinda reminds you of Aurora, especielly how kind and gentle he is so you always make sure to tag along with him.
And You were he's new friend that he will swore to protect until the end.
You might have expected a TWST x POKEMON like you had expected but i just cant get this idea out of my head.
I just kinda thought of Dreamy when I heard about Silver so I had this idea in mind about them bonding.
And for those who had requested for TWST x POKEMON, just wait, their on the way ;)
