“driving me crazy”
eddie roundtree x fem!reader
you and eddie have never gotten along. is it because you hate each other, or is it because you’re both to proud to admit something?
enemies to lovers😏😏 also idk how long this is bc tumblr doesn’t have a word count smh but it is longer than my other stuff
warning: making out at the end (spoiler lol), suggestive
part 2
EDDIE: Y/n, man. That woman is no joke. We hated each other, at least for a while.
Y/N: He was always such an ass to me. Eddie, I mean. I really hated him. (pause) Until I didn’t.
The burning hatred Eddie felt for you started the day you auditioned for the band. Chuck had just left for school, and Eddie wanted to move from rhythm guitar to bass.
Like always, Billy shut down his request and decided to let people audition for the position. In his words, he wanted someone to “earn it.”
Eddie was already irritated from seeing Billy act like the previous performances were better than what he could do, so you can imagine how he felt when one actually was.
The last audition of the day. You strode up the driveway, big sunglasses over your eyes, sporting jeans and a tight tank top, but definitely not a smile.
Eddie just knew. There was no way he was getting that spot. Your playing didn’t even shock him. Of course, it was fantastic. Just great.
After that, it was all cold stares and angry glares. He wanted to make it very clear that he didn’t like you. He made a considerable effort to stay out of your way. He wouldn’t speak to you, look at you, or even think about you. Well, he tried very hard not to.
One night, a few weeks after your admission, you fell into step with him as he walked home after a rehearsal that ran long. He was moderately surprised by this and figured you would go away if he just ignored you.
You didn’t. You pulled out a cigarette and placed it between your lips. “Have a light?” you asked.
He furrowed his brows, trying to figure out what you were doing. After a moment, he nodded, pulled out his lighter, and lit your cigarette.
“Thanks,” you said. “So, is there any reason why you hate being around me?”
He was so taken aback that he stopped walking. “Sorry?”
You looked at him from over your sunglasses. It made him sort of angry that you were wearing them at nine p.m. when it was pitch black.
“You gonna answer the question?”
“Yes, there are many reasons.” Bullshit. There was only one and, honestly, it wasn’t a very solid one.
You said nothing and walked back up to him, removing the cigarette from your mouth and putting it out on his denim jacket, burning the material.
Eddie was more bewildered than mad when you pushed the glasses to the top of your head and smiled at him like you’d just done him a very nice favor. He never noticed your eye color before then, or how it looked in the moonlight.
“By the way, that jacket really reminds me of Billy.”
Okay, now he knew he was mad. He struggled to come up with a comeback and just moved his mouth in a stupid way that made you laugh when you left him standing there.
EDDIE: She knew exactly what she was doing. She’s always been good at that, making me mad on purpose.
Y/N: It was really funny. He doesn’t think so, but I was laughing about that for days.
The two of you continued throwing insults at each other for the months leading up to LA. Eddie’s favorite thing to do was comment on every mistake you made, much to everyone’s dismay.
He was just jealous of your abilities and, deep down, he admired them. You always knew just what to say back to him, adding unnecessary fuel to the fire.
More than once Billy had to yell at you to stop fighting. You both would resort to sending each other hateful looks and crude hand gestures for the rest of practice.
Driving to California was the real hell. Being cooped up in that van with Eddie for that long made you restless.
If it weren’t for Camila holding you back, there would’ve been several times where you launched yourself at him.
It was so nice to have another girl around. Camila was a good mediator for the two of you. You missed that when you went on tour.
Karen also knew how to break up a fight, but sometimes she would let you hash it out for the fun of it. Not like you minded, she probably knew how much fun you had while messing with Eddie.
Soon enough, things went downhill. Camila had the baby, which was good. Julia was such a sweet baby. Billy went to rehab, which was also good, for him and his family, but bad for the band.
The tour was canceled. A lot of money was lost. It was not a very fun time.
You sympathized with Billy. He had been going through a lot, and you understood how hard it was for somebody to recover from that level of drug abuse. Addiction was a gene that seemed to run in your family, with your mother being absent for most of your life and your father having to pick up the pieces.
Billy and Camila were the only people who knew about it. You didn’t think the others needed to know when none of them could relate to your situation.
Eddie didn’t understand. He went on and on about how bad of a guy Billy was. It made you furious the way he implied that Camila should leave him.
The rest of your fights were petty compared to the one you had on the day Billy got out of rehab. Eddie started complaining about Billy’s nerve or something along those lines. You flipped out. You told him he had no idea what he was talking about and stormed out of the room.
That shut him up. He stared blankly at the door you just walked out of and thanked God that it had only been the two of you in the room before.
He was relieved that no one else heard what he said because realized he was being childish. Even though he hated Billy he should still be proud of what he overcame.
He rushed out of the room to find you locked in the bathroom. He knocked once, twice, three times before a sharp, “What?” came from the other side of the door.
“Y/n, come out and let me talk to you.”
He heard your muffled scoff. “You’ve said enough.”
“I want to apologize.”
He couldn’t see it, but your eyebrows rose involuntarily. You undid the lock and opened the door. Your arms were folded over your chest as you nodded at him. “Keep going.”
“I’m sorry I said all that crap about Billy. It’s been a rough time for him. For all of us,” he said, sounding genuine.
This was shocking to you. He had never apologized to you for anything he said, even if it happened to be cruel and borderline disrespectful. He had this vulnerable look on his face that made you feel like you could tell him things.
“I’m not just upset about Billy,” you admitted. “This whole thing just reminds me of my life growing up. You don’t know this about me, but my mom was not the best at, well, being a mom. Unlike Billy, family wasn’t enough to pull her out.”
You weren’t sure what he was going to say. Then, he said nothing and pulled you close to his chest. His arms were around your shoulders, and you hesitated to hug him back.
He smelled of pine, and you couldn’t stop yourself from inhaling his scent. You stayed like that for a few minutes, until you heard the front door open and sprang apart.
Warren and Graham announced their arrival, and Eddie cleared his throat before joining them in the kitchen. Now it was you who stood alone in bewilderment.
EDDIE: This girl that hated me was trusting me with something, and I didn’t even know why. That was the first time I saw her for the woman she was, and not for the competition she used to be. As it turns out, I didn’t really hate that woman.
After that debacle, things were kind of weird between you and Eddie. He would still act like a dick, but in a different way.
Instead of, “Wow, could you be any worse at this?” he would say, “Wow, could you look any hotter right now?” He used the same douchebag tone for each, but his comments became flirtatious as time went on.
You usually had a witty retort to fire back at him, but there were some times that his words left you flustered and unable to think properly.
Karen noticed this first, giving you a questioning look from the other side of the studio. You waved her off and rolled your eyes at the thought of Eddie seriously flirting with you.
Warren and Graham caught on next, teasing him about it whenever they got the chance. He denied all allegations of being into you.
You refused to acknowledge Camila’s allegations either. The dynamic you shared with him now was different, but you kind of liked it. You would never admit it though, wanting to keep up the illusion that you still hated his guts.
Eddie walked into the kitchen and grabbed a muffin from the table you sat at. “Morning, smokeshow.” He smirked as he looked back at you from over his shoulder while crossing the room to the fridge.
“Shut up, Eddie,” you said with a mouth full of cereal. Shamefully, you felt heat climb into your cheeks.
He snickered as he sat down across from you. “Really? That’s all you got?”
You swallowed your food and glared at him. “Give me a break. It’s eight in the morning.”
He gave you his signature smile before flipping through the magazine on the table. Karen walked into the kitchen and sent you a knowing look once she saw you and Eddie being civil.
She made her own breakfast, and took Eddie’s seat when he left. “So, anything interesting happen recently?”
“Besides having a hit single, not much. I do really like that Daisy girl, though.”
Karen stared at you blankly. “You know what I’m talking about.”
You placed your fingers to your temples and closed your eyes. “I sense something brewing between Karen Karen and Graham the Man. Nothing else between any other band members, so it would be pointless to ask.”
She laughed. “I sense nothing of the sort. I’m letting Camila deal with you. I just can’t anymore.”
Y/N: Looking back on it, we were pretty insufferable.
With Billy and Daisy writing songs by themselves, you and the others had some time to kill. Karen and Graham were off at the beach while you hung back with Warren and Eddie.
They really loved Rollerball. Either that or they were really high. You were willing to bet on the latter.
By the third showing, you didn’t fail to notice how close Eddie had gotten to you. His arm brushed against yours, and he leaned his head close to yours.
You shifted uncomfortably in your seat, moving away from him and bringing your arm off of the armrest.
He frowned and folded his arms over his chest. Both of you knew something just happened, but refused to acknowledge it. The tension in the air was thick.
Once back at the house, you went to your room immediately. You planned on calling Camila and bothering her with questions about what all these shenanigans with Eddie mean.
What you didn’t expect was Eddie following you into your room and closing the door behind him.
You glanced up from the phone. “What are you doing? Get out, I’m busy.”
The phone rang twice before Camila picked up. “What are we?” Eddie asked. You hung up before she could get a word out.
“What are you talking about?”
He looked more annoyed than he did angry, but the tone of his voice suggested otherwise. “Well, one second you’re rubbing up against me in a movie theater and the other you’re acting all pissed about it.”
You physically cringed. “‘Rubbing up against you?’ That is not what happened.”
“Then what about all those times you tell me I’m hot, huh?”
“You’re the one who initiates that!” you said exasperatedly. “All I do is respond. If you’re trying to insinuate that I flirt with you, then that’s all you.”
He marched up to you until he was mere feet away. “You’re so hot and cold that it drives me insane. Do you want me or not?”
Your eyes narrowed. “Pretty bold of you to assume I would want you.”
He made a wild gesture with his hands and ran one over his face. “You’re exhausting. You make me so mad, and I hate that I like you.”
“Shut up, you don’t like me. We hate each other.”
“Oh, my God, you don’t get it.” He pinched the bridge of his nose with two fingers. “I think about you. All the time. When I see a stupid joke in a magazine, I think of you. When I hear a John Denver song, I think of you. You drive me fucking crazy, Y/n! People who hate each other don’t think about each other like this, don’t act like this. I like you, for God’s sake.”
You couldn’t help but laugh a little. “You listen to John Denver?”
“That’s all you have to say?” He tried sounding angry but he was laughing too.
“I thought you were a rockstar.” You mocked him by holding up two ‘rock on’ hand signs.
“You don’t even care about the sentiment.” He rolled his eyes.
“Be quiet.” You were smiling when you kissed him, cupping his face while his arms snaked around your back.
You tangled both hands in his hair as he deepened the kiss by tilting his head and letting his tongue enter your mouth.
Your fingers messed up his hair before moving down to tug on his shirt collar, pulling him impossibly close.
He tapped your thigh and pulled his lips from yours to whisper, “Jump.”
You complied. He held onto your back with one hand as the other gripped your thigh while your legs wrapped around his waist.
Your hands came back up to rake through his hair, tugging it softly. He continued kissing you feverishly as he made his way to your bed. He almost dropped you when he lowered your body to it.
He climbed onto the bed and hovered over you, kissing down your neck while you gripped his shirt.
“It’s quiet,” Karen said, sitting on the couch, no longer hearing the near screaming match happening in your bedroom.
“Too quiet,” Graham agreed. Warren stood up and pressed his ear to the door, his mouth dropping open.
“Guys, I think they’re boning in there.”
“Warren, please refrain from saying ‘boning.’”

"The Real RomCom" Kirk Hammett x Fem!Reader
Summery: You and Kirk are talking and clear the air of any awkwardness on why you’re so shy and bond :P (fluff, fluff, fluffy, fluff.) (also not proof read)
TW: Alcoholism, mentions of drugs, name calling, anxiety, language.
PT 3
1984-85 Kirk Hammett
Tumblr media
Your conversation migrated back to the kitchen where you both are now sitting opposite from each other on the counter top drinking water.
“I knew you guys were before I came here.” you embarrassingly admitted. It is an every day that you meet a famous band. You were shocked you were going through telling Kirk this, but here you are. “ as you can see, I have a great taste in music.” You jokingly boast pointing to your shirt. The only way you knew how to hide your anxiety was to laugh your way out of the situation.
Kirk left at your sarcasm, “Yep, I’m well aware.”
“I’ve been reading about you guys too. Listening to the music was awesome but I like reading what makes up the band, you know?”
Kirk quickly agrees with you, “Yeah absolutely! I do the same thing with music and movies. But why didn’t you say you were a fan?”
They were it was. The question you were dreading the whole night, “why are you so quiet?” you thought, “does she speak?” there is no denying you had social anxiety, but you didn’t like having to blow out about it when someone decided it was a problem. You didn’t want it to be anybody’s business because you’re the one who has the problem. You have several lines you have picked out when the situation in springs itself onto you. Most of them, being sarcastic, rude, and snarky with a dash of smart ass. But you knew now that you wanted to be honest with the guy you like. “ Well, I have some anxiety when I’m at parties, which is a big reason I don’t go to them, Beck does, though, all the time.” You say, trying to keep your voice loud enough so Kirk can hear you but quiet enough that other people can’t.
Kirk understandably nods, taking a mental note that you don’t like party’s. “I know it doesn’t seem like it but I don’t like being around people all that much either.”
You blink at his words, “But you’re a performer. You’re constantly on stage in front of thousands of people.”
“Yeah, but the talking part is my downfall.”
You tilt your head back while making an “ooo” sound. “Well, you’re not doing too bad right now.”
He chuckled catching your tone, “Heh, thanks. I could say the same. Could.” He smirked.
You let out a laugh, “Wow. Thank you so much Kirk, my anxiety is cured.” Lightly nudging his leg with your foot, you realize what song started to play. “Hey I know how to play this song!” You yelled over a very loud version of “The Trooper”.
Kirks eye were as wide as saucers, “You play?!” He asked, shocked and impatient waiting for your answer.
You nod quickly, “yeah on my guitar!”
Hearing this, Kirk wasted no time jumping from the counter, taking your hand and pulling you out of the kitchen. “Whoa, whoa, slow down! Where are we going!?” You laughed as Kirk and you ripped through the swinging doors and b-lining for the stairs. Barely missing the people you both were zipping passed
“You’ve got to be the coolest fucking chick here. I’m gonna show you something.” He said taking two at a time up the stairs. You never read anything saying Kirk had agility, you were impressed.
You quickly pushed the thought away as Kirk had almost run into someone as you approached the top of the stairs. “Holy hell Kirk, slow down! You’re gonna kill someone!” You cackle as you hear a faint apology leave him.
By shear luck, you both make it to the top of the stairs in one piece. You catch Beck’s curious eyes. “Don’t mind us!” Kirk yelled, whilst everyone now minding us. Not knowing in the moment how to respond to Beck, you shrug your shoulders as Kirk pulls you out of sight.
-Earlier after Beck’s chat with Lars:
Lars plopped down onto the couch with Beck sitting in the love seat across from him. “Beck I swear we were just having fun- Ow!” James and Cliff look up from the conversation they were having.
Beck cut off Lars’ statement by chucking a pillow at him. “I don’t wanna fucking hear it, I told you that she doesn’t drink like that and it wouldn’t help.” She yelled pointing her finger in an accusing way at Lars, in result made him sink lower in to the seat.
“What the hell did you do now Lars?” James asked shooting a questioning look over to his friend. Lars opened his mouth to defend himself but was quickly interjected by Beck, “You’re drummer got my best friend drunk because he thought she “needed it”. You don’t know how she get when she’s drunk! It can be a serious hand full sometimes.”
“Dude it’s not like I drugged her!” Lars spat.
“I don’t fucking know that!” Beck fired back.
“Well I’m sure she’s fine now, Kirk’s got her downstairs, so could you both please. Chill the fuck out.” Cliff supplied, quieting the “brats” of the group as Kirk put it one day. Beck and Lars gave each other a glare before sulking quietly in their seats.
“Do you guys want to play Gin or do you wanna continue hating each other?” James asked. Beck gave a final look to Lars as Beck sighed and got out of her seat to play. Lars following suit and ironically, forcing to sit next to her. “Okay,” James began. “We all know how to play yes?” Beck, Cliff, and Lars all nod. “Great, Cliff you’re on my team.”
“What? Why do I have to be stuck with her!” Lars whined, like a child.
Beck whipped her head towards him and scoffed, “Fuck you, deal with it!” She yelled.
Lars shook his head and brought his elbows to the table so his arms could hold his head up. “Let’s just play.” He said admitting defeat which gave Beck a small sense of pride.
“So, it’s regular Gin but each set you make your opponent has to take a shot, for each run you make your opponent has to take a double shot.” James explained. They all nodded and began to play with Lars passing the 10 cards on either side of the table. It’s not even halfway through the first round when James knocks on the table.
“Fuck already?” Beck asked, not believing they’ve already gotten their cards sorted out.
“What do you wanna do now?” Lars asked Beck, there really wasn’t much they could do at this point, they barely had a set and the run they were trying to make looked pitiful.
“Well throw that one away and let’s see what we get.” Lars nodded and did what he was instructed. The card he pulled didn’t work in their favor.
Lars lowered his head, “Fock.” And Beck agreed. They knocked indicating they were done and they all laid their cards out. You couldn’t believe the luck Cliff and James had. Two sets and a run.
James grabbed the vodka and two shot glasses, “Read’ em and weep ladies. Time to drink.”
Smirnoff, Beck thought, of course. Lars and her both let out a defeated grumble as the reached for the glasses. Cliff poured the first, “Whoa, whoa, easy!” Beck held up a hand but Cliff stopped when he felt like it. Lars sighed with Beck and tapped the glass on the table before forcing the liquor down their throats.
Lars put his glass down first, “This was more fun earlier.” He pouted. Beck elbowed him as Cliff poured another tall one. This one was downed then two more, taking their punishments like champs they set their glasses down.
“Okay, again. This time we’re gonna win.” Beck stated catching her breath with Lars agreeing. James set it up and Cliff dealt the cards. Drone then on the game went like that back and forth. Soon, they were all too tipsy to even remember the game’s name and Beck completely forgetting her best friend down stairs.
“Ha! A red Ace!” Lars yelled drunkenly, “Go Fish!” Everyone laughed out loud.
“You fucking idiot, this is Black Jack!” James snorted, reaching to smack Lars and Becks cards.
Beck was pulled from the conversation when she heard what sounded like a stampede of buffalos up the stairs. “What the fuck?” She said turning her attention towards who was at the stairs. Her eyes were darting back and forth, struggling to stay on a still object. Oh, it’s Y/N, she thought. Why was she being dragged by someone who looks like Kirk?
“Don’t mind us!” Beck heard. She saw you shrug and disappear. “Well, ok then.” Lars said and everyone started laughing again as Beck hadn’t realized they had caught everyone’s attention. Beck went back to conversing with the group as her subconscious mind reassured her you were ok and with Kirk.
END OF PART 3!!!!!
A/N: Um let’s pretend that I didn’t just ignore everyone for half a year 👀. I hope you enjoyed, I’m currently working on Dave stuff so tell me what you want to read. Smut is iffy for me but if you request I’ll keep it in mind. Thank you sm for being this unbelievably patient.❤️❤️

Hey there maybe-abbi how is your day i hope your doing great btw can i request some rz Michael myers x fem reader where the reader missed her old band mates and michael decided to make her happy by making a little pillow stage for their s/o:) i'm sorry if its cringe or hard for you to make
Just like old times
RZ! Micheal Myers x Fem! Reader
Micheal knew that Y/n had been down lately, so he decided to change that.
Y/n had been moping around for the past few days. Usually when she was upset, Micheal would just give her some space and wait for her to feel better. He figured that he would just make the situation worse if he tried to get involved with her emotions, considering that emotions weren’t exactly his forte.
However this time was different, Y/n would stay up crying, she was eating less, and she completely refused to speak on the matter. Micheal knew that if he kept ignoring the issue that it was just get worse so he decided to have an intervention.
Y/n was coming home from the store one day, when Micheal pulled her into the living room and sat her down on the couch.
“Micheal, what are you doing?” Y/n asked, slightly confused. Micheal stared at her for a long moment before speaking.
“What’s wrong?” He asked in a husky, monotone voice. Y/n was a little caught off guard since Micheal usually didn’t talk.
“Nothing that you need to worry about hun.” She said trying to ease his worry. Micheal looked at her with a ‘are you serious’ look.
“Really it’s no big deal Micheal, don’t stress about it.” She said in a comforting voice. Micheal looked at her with sad eyes and slowly reached his hand up to cup her face. This made Y/n crack a bit.
“I’m sorry I’ve been so upset lately Micheal, It’s just that since I’ve moved away from my old town, I haven’t been able to perform with my band. The other day I found out that they found a replacement bassist for me, and I guess that just made me realize how much I miss them. I know it sounds dumb, but it’s really hurting me. I mean, performing is my biggest passion, and now I can’t do it.” Y/n rambled quickly, like she was just trying to get the conversation over with.
Micheal looked at her for a while, and then got up and left the room. When he came back he was holding about eight pillows under one arm, and y/n’s bass in the other. He walked over to y/n and pushed the coffee table out of the way, then he started setting up the pillows on the couch and recliners in the room, folding them in half to imitate people in and audience. Then he pulled y/n up and guided her to the middle of the room, handing her the bass guitar in the process. He then took a seat on the couch amongst the makeshift pillow-people and watched her expectingly.
“ Micheal, what the hell is this?” Y/n asked, laughing a bit. Micheal simply used his hands to motion her to start playing. She looked around, slightly embarrassed, but started playing anyway. She played one of her favorite songs to perform with her band. When she finished Micheal clapped for her, which made y/n giggle since he was the only real person watching. She looked at him for a few seconds, then walked over and hugged him.
“Thank you Micheal, this really made me feel better.” She said hugging him tighter. Micheal wrapped his arms around her and rubbed her back, he knew that a serious weight had been lifted off of her.
I was so exited when I saw this ask, I can’t get enough of Rz! Micheal. Anyway, I hope this is what you were looking for anon :)

the very first night part five
OR: the one where Chrissy joins Corroded Coffin, a 5+1 fic wc: 1270 | rating: M | pairing: hellcheer | modern au | AO3 written for @strangerthingsreversebigbang art inspiration by @sunflowerharrington beta'd by @just-my-latest-hyperfixation
5 after they win their first award
Between the success of their second album and subsequent tour, Corroded Coffin find themselves with a short, short list of Grammy nominations in their name. The fucking Grammys. The buzz for this one doesn’t fade away even a little in the weeks leading up to the show, which they’re all attending. They’re attending the Grammys as a nominated group.
It’s almost too much for Chrissy to wrap her head around, each time she reminds herself that this is reality and not just some wild dream she’s waiting to wake up from. This is her life now. This is the life she made for herself from one impulsive decision to join a band looking for a new lead singer. This is the life she made for herself when she decided to choose her own family.
It’s her life, it’s real, and there’s very little left that could make her feel more successful.
After weeks of preparations, of phone calls and emails and meetings and fittings, of trying to act normal about this whole ordeal, Chrissy almost can’t believe it when she’s actually on the red carpet leading inside. While she’s gotten better at accepting the idea that people know who she is outside of those she’s friends with, hearing a cacophony of strangers calling all of their names is still surreal.
It feels like the second coming of the ‘you made it moment’ she got after their first sold out show. It feels magical, and it has a genuine grin spreading across her face as she and her boys pose for pictures she’s sure to see before the night is up. The thought makes her excited for once, of seeing them all glowing and successful, instead of the dread she’d gotten from her own image in years prior.
Finally making it inside the venue and seeing so many other faces of people she knows but has never met makes Chrissy’s nerves flare up and it’s all she can do to keep herself from shaking out of her skin. As if sensing her anxiety, Eddie wraps an arm around her shoulder, pulling her close to his side as they head towards their table.
The tabloids have been speculating about them for months now, with each leaked moment of how close they are, but neither of them have said a word still. It’s just something that happens that none of them talk about. But it’s wearing Chrissy down, and she feels so close to breaking each time she finds herself surrounded by Eddie’s warmth.
But it still doesn’t feel like the right time, so she pushes the thoughts and feelings and words back into the box she’s started keeping them in. Just until after the show, she tells herself as they find their seats. They just have to make it through tonight and she’ll finally be brave enough.
Sitting through the awards is just as nerve-wracking as her resolve to say something to Eddie after them, and Chrissy is slightly thankful they’re not performing because she’s not sure she could tonight. She thinks if she gets on that stage, she’s going to do something embarrassing like confessing to the whole room. Instead she just lets herself bask in the moment, lets herself fall into showing support for everyone that is performing or winning their categories.
She’s so sure that nothing more is happening that she nearly misses the band’s name being called for Best New Artist. It’s not until the guys are tugging her to her feet that it really sinks in. Cheers and grins and hugs are exchanged between the five of them before they make the journey up to the stage on shaking legs. Once they make it up, everyone lets Eddie take the front without a word. It’s just how things are, and he’s always been the best with words anyway.
Chrissy is happy to stand back and let him take the moment, even when he urges the rest of them to give their own personal thanks. It’s all a blur and once she hands the mic back, Chrissy isn’t even sure she could recite what she said again if asked. Heading back to the table is just as much a blur as the moment on stage, and the rest of the night doesn’t feel quite real.
They won a Grammy! A whole Grammy that’s theirs. Hopefully the first of many, but it’s definitely a dream come true sort of moment.
The win propels them through the rest of the show and into the after party. And every time Chrissy thinks the high of the night is enough to ignite her bravery, someone else is there, pulling their attention away with questions, introductions, congratulations, the works. There isn’t a spare moment for Chrissy to steal away with Eddie for the two of them to talk. That doesn’t mean he’s not glued to her side like always, because he is. There’s never a moment when Chrissy isn’t within touching distance of one of the guys, but there’s never a moment to just talk between them.
So she reevaluates the plan to the hotel they’re staying in for the night. That has to be the moment, or the moment is truly never going to come. Because if she can’t get it on the most charged night of their lives, when will she?
Drunk on success (and maybe a little liquor) the ride in the elevator is energetic, and it stays that way as the band disperses to their rooms. The guys are sharing, of course, but Chrissy has one to herself. When they reach the door, she grabs Eddie’s arm, holding on tightly as the other four go down one more. “Stay with me?” she asks as Eddie looks back at her. “Please?”
Her heart pounds in her chest, thinking about what she’s about to do, about how it will change everything, but she doesn’t back down. She can’t back down. It feels very now or never, and never isn’t an option. “Yeah, of course,” Eddie replies softly, subdued after their wild night.
Smiling, Chrissy leads him into her room, letting the door click shut softly behind them. “I didn’t want to be alone,” she explains as she kicks off her shoes. “Not after tonight.”
Eddie’s nodding along before she’s even done, kneeling down to undo his boots. “I get that. I’m here for you. However long you need.”
It feels platonic, the words, but Chrissy knows in her heart that they aren’t really. It’s just Eddie not wanting to risk the band’s dynamic, just like Chrissy doesn’t want to risk it. But she knows now that she has to. Even if this breaks them. Even if they never get another Grammy. She has to risk everything or explode trying to keep it in.
But still, she stalls. “I’ve been drinking,” she admits. “But, in the morning, can we talk about something?”
Because even with the words on the tip of her tongue now, she knows that both of them being fully sober matters more, so there’s no room to blame it on the alcohol if things don’t go well. She just has to be sure.
Eddie nods again, popping buttons on his shirt as he does. “I’ll take the second bed tonight, so you’re not alone, and we’ll talk in the morning.”
It’s as good a plan as they’re getting tonight, so Chrissy agrees, gets ready for bed even though she feels like vibrating out of her own body, and tries to find sleep to pass the hours until her mind is clear enough for the conversation hanging over them now.

through improv and sheer serendipity kerfuffle depicts a more realistic dysfunctional family dynamic than some prestige melodramas with the ciblings. I keep talking about this because it all compels me so much.
Prism is the root. but the way that shes treated them all creates this vicious self-perpetuating dysfunction by, intentionally or not, pitting them against eachother in a way that reflects real abuse tactics- it becomes more difficult to identify the real problem if your victims are too busy infighting to realize their common enemy and band against you.
Cobalt tries to protect Crimson and Chartreuse by making them follow The Rules™️ so prism wont involve herself, but this redirects their resentment of her onto him, especially in circumstances like cpuk white/orange, where Prism enables Crimson by freeing him unconditionally without any strings attached (hes supposed to be the powerful bad guy thats fun to fight, not out of prison on parole on his best behavior to not get put back in, she needs to enable and push him to act his worst,) until Cobalt swoops in with conditions to try to do preemptive damage control by making up some rules for crimson to have to follow, critically that he has to Get Back in his Living Jail Cell (crimsonaut) at the end of the tournament. And i dont think crimson would've tried to kill the poor guy if his existence wasn't Actively A Threat To His Freedom! He clearly likes the little dude, he's didn't do that because he Wanted to he just refused to get stuffed back in the jar. he's just. a pretty ruthless pragmatist about certain things and will absolutely do whatever he feels he needs to to accomplish an endgoal of sufficient importance, even if he doesnt feel great about it.
Which cobalt finds distasteful and shitty, and Crimson trying to trigger an apocalypse of sorts apparently just to spite him and rub his face in his failure to protect Mark's universe of origin (while also, in the process and intentionally or not, demonstrating his own system's strength through stress-testing,) even more so. And a lot of the time he's not even Wrong that things crimson does are morally shitty its just that being a god, especially one who wields their power effectively, is sort of inherently unethical in a way I don't think Cobalt's willing to fully accept, and Crimson may be an asshole but hes the one of these two who can generally come out of the trolley problem having chosen correctly, y'get me. Cobalt provably has allowed many many people to suffer through his refusal or inability to take action to prevent it because it would mean having to get his conscience dirty by making a less than ideal choice, and Crimson hates that he has the gall to judge how Crimson performs his duties when the facts are what they are, and Cobalt IS an irrational idealistic hypocrite who doesn't know what he's talking about! He kind of has to be! because the kinds of expectations and circumstances that are placed on them are fundamentally contradictory because, as i said, its kind of impossible to Ethically Be God, and as such if he has to babysit prism's temper so his siblings don't get hurt by keeping them in line and behaving and being Good, he has to operate by following what he can glean of fundamentally irrational and deliberately obtuse rules to the best of his ability, because child abuse is fundamentally irrational. But Cobalt doesn't get that! This is his normal and he doesnt have enough experience outside his bubble to really get how not normal it is! He doesn't feel he needs to justify any of this rationally because their godhood makes them Exceptional, they get to decide what is and is not rational for someone in their position, at least until Prism pulls his entire identity out from under him like a rug. But Crimson through his rebellion demands he make sense without really putting together why Cobalt, attempting to be obedient and dutiful, Acts Like That and dismisses his challenges to the rules as insubordinate and irresponsible, because he doesn't get that Cobalt's criticism is irrational because Prism's irrational and he has to measure by her standard, which she won't make clear. Neither of them get that neither obedience nor rebellion will get them treated better, until they find out their true purposes and the futility finally clicks. But by now they've built up so much baggage around this dynamic and their roles that Cobalt's default with Crimson is accusatory and judgemental, Crimson is the Problem Child and is treated as such, and Crimson, having enough worldly experience with mortals to have reference for what normal is actually supposed to look like and now knowing all his rebellion was pointless, has taken to rationalizing his abuse as having actually been Uniquely Fine because he was a Bad Kid™️ y'see, the god of treachery, Assigned Problem At Birth, even if he'd never want to see any other kid treated like he was, and not really seeing that for the cognitive dissonance that it is just yet.
Meanwhile Chartreuse has seen ALL of this dynamic for what it is for god knows how long. The Futility and overwhelmingly tangled whole of it all frustrates her and its miserable and she wishes they could just stop fighting and see the truth, but she can't really bridge the gap in understanding between them, because she can't tell them anything without risking Prism coming down on her, so she plays her role as best she can when the rules are made up and make no sense but not following them could get her killed, her only option left knowing all this being to stop caring, and so time blurs together in a miserable featureless repetitive slog of overwhelming pain and nonsense........ until she gets out. And now everything is novel and exciting again, and she has to find her footing in a whole new world when her old life and experiences alienate her, and she has all these new challenges that other people don't have because of the environment she was raised in, but she'd sincerely rather die a normal death after a well-lived life than go back to that unending 'special' hell. And god, good for her

Here is my recap of the Wheels Up episode of the podcast.
I think by the title it should be obvious this covers the Wheels episode of Glee.
They talked about Ryan getting the Carol Burnett award at the Golden Globes.
Ryan thinks he is too young to be getting this award.
Jenna and Kevin made the highlights reel.
Go listen to the Paris Barclay episode. He directed this episode.
This episode felt like the beginning of the phenomenon.
As mentioned in the last episode in the middle of filming this episode the cast went to upfront.
Wheels was a more serious episode.
There were many screenings of this episode. Some where for groups for wheelchair users or Down Syndrome but also because it was awards season.
They started dance rehearsals for Proud Mary while working on the previous episode.
Cory and Dianna decided to take the wheelchairs throughout the lot for the whole day. They came back all sweaty and gross. Everyone was struggling with the wheelchairs.
Not all the chairs had stoppers like Kevin’s and that caused some people to fall backwards when they would try wheelies.
Kevin was excited about having a solo but wasn’t excited about the song. He wanted something big and flashy. He did appreciate being pushed out of his comfort zone.
Kevin had to go back and record the song because Ryan said the first version was too sexy. He was very breathy. Adam was confused and thought the first version was great. Kevin just sang it two or three more times.
Kevin’s stunt double is an actual wheelchair user. You can tell when it is him because he doesn’t have the stoppers on his chair. He goes to skate parks and does crazy tricks.
Dancing With Myself was a big moment for Artie and for Kevin.
Kevin got to do slo-mo for the first time. He was the guinea pig.
To do slo-mo you have to do everything at warp speed.
Kevin had done it before when he was in a boy band.
The bougie part of the bake sales are bougie was something Naya would do as a joke. They ended up using the joke take for the episode. It is just more Naya golden nuggets.
Cory probably improvised kicking the wheelchair.
This episode is the introduction of Becky.
They loved working with Lauren Potter (Becky).
Kevin’s delivery of the You’re irritating most of the time, but don’t take that personally line was so good.
Kevin enjoyed Lea’s performance in the first couple of choir room scenes in this episode. He like that she was playing off the previous episodes.
Kevin loves the montage of everyone learning to use the wheelchairs.
Apparently here is an oops in the scene where Artie tells Tina about the car accident. It has something to do with Artie’s current age and the age he was when the accident happened doesn’t match up with how long he’s been in the chair.
The line about Artie still having use of his penis is in this episode.
The cheerleading auditions are Jenna’s favorite part.
We get to see a lot of Ashley Fink (Lauren Zizes) in this episode.
We see her first when Kurt talks about her parents suing the school so she could wrestle and then we see her in the cheerleading tryouts montage.
The baton twirling was probably Inspired by Chris’s sai swords.
Kevin thought the Becky, Sue, Jean storyline was so good.
The real Jane Lynch is the Sue that walks into the room to visit her sister.
That scene with Jane and Robin is so so good.
We get to see a very human side to Sue.
Kevin had to look away so he didn’t start crying.
They did a recap of the bake sale and the Quinn, Finn, Puck live triangle.
They used stunt doubles for the Puck and Finn fight in the hallway.
Paris told a great story about the flour in the air during the food fight and how it caused production to be shut down.
Kevin thinks the hallway scene between him and Jenna was probably the first thing shot for this episode.
Jenna found out the night before shooting this scene that the stutter was fake.
She took the stutter very seriously. Originally Tina had Tourette’s.
You get to see a deeper layer of Tina. Jenna sees Tina as an onion and this was like a layer being removed.
Kevin thinks this wasn’t the first time him and Jenna kissed. He said we would all kiss each other a friends. It was innocent.
It was weird to know millions of people would be watching them kiss.
It was such a short scene but they were still nervous about it.
Jenna cried like four times watching Proud Mary. It was mostly from laughter.
Zach did an incredible job choreographing Proud Mary.
They didn’t get a demo for Proud Mary.
They just threw things against the wall to see what would work.
The Kurt and Burt storyline has a lot of effing heart according to Jenna.
Their relationship is the heart of the show.
The tire shop also feet’s the theme of wheels.
(Don’t feel bad Jenna I never put that together either.)
The montage of Kurt doing the warm up and getting the phone call is brilliant and heart breaking.
The storylines in this episode pull at different emotions. The phone call feels eerie and dark and troubling. You don’t normally feel that in an episode of glee.
Mike O’Malley (Burt) was so so good in this episode. Mike and Chris are both very serious actors.
Both Chris and Mike both try to understand where the characters are coming from
Mike would really dig deep during rehearsals.
Mike and Chris made each other better actors.
Kevin hadn’t heard Defying Gravity before it was on the show. He heard the original version 4 years ago.
Seeing Defying Gravity live on stage was the most magical theater experience Kevin has ever had.
Spoiler: Kurt throws the diva off.
Kurt has an amazing moment with Burt afterwards.
Kevin had a hard time removing himself from the Kurt and Burt scenes. He didn’t relate to Kurt. He absolutely adored the Kurt and Burt storylines.
Tartie Takes:
Cringe Moments aka Ouchies - Mr. Shue to Mercedes don’t worry we will find you something to dip in chocolate.
Worst Dance Move - Amber falling off one of the ramps sideways
Best Song - Jenna: Dancing With Myself Kevin: Proud Mary
Best Performance By a Prop - wheelchairs or maybe the flour
Things That Didn’t Age Well - Quinn’s line about no one buying baked goods from losers we are in wheelchairs and in glee club.
Best Line - Artie’s line to Rachel about being irritating. Kevin - Burt’s line about Kurt singing like a girl.
Shit We Found on TikTok:
Someone has a theory that Harry Styles is mimicking Finn’s dance moves.
Simon Crowell was apparently a big fan of glee.
Simon was obsessed with Artie. He liked that Glee showed the underdogs.
Maybe Harry Styles was a fan of Glee.
Next week is Ballad.

Less ocs that are canon character's partners or siblings more ocs that are canon characters annoying younger cousin they've met like twice /j
#rat rambles#oc posting#band posting#anyways momoko is on the mind lol#Ive said she and mashiro are cousins before but to elaborate a lil theyve only interacted a few times but momoko kinda hates her#mainly because their parents pushed them rly hard achedemically and was constantly comparred to mashiro who was comparatively much better#they started trying to rebel against that pressure and tried to find smth that they could do without worrying abt other's expectations#and that lead to her finding a passion for music and making new friends who also loved music#them 4 would practice playing and create songs together but never rly went beyond that although they certainly planned to at some point#but then when morfonica became a thing and started doing more live performamces momoko kinda freaked out#she felt like mashiro was gonna steal music from her and it was gonna be like school all over again with mashiro being the score to meet#so she decided to push the band to try performing for real and while they were fine and even excited to do it as time went on they started#to notice that momoko seemed to be having less and less fun with their music and started to worry#after talking to her abt it briefly it freaks momoko out too since she didnt rly notice and she didnt want to stop liking music#with her bandmates help she starts trying to find out what was holding her back and although she tried hard to not let the conclusion be#made it was pretty apparent to her that it was largely because of mashiro and how she felt the need to be objectively better than her#which yknow isnt rly possible with music lol#long story short momoko eventually started trying to work through some of the issues and while shes not completely over it shes gained a#begrudging respect for morfonica and mashiro and is trying to repair their image of mashiro in their mind#I have some light thoughts abt how the other 3 would interact with morfonica but thats not strictly canon to their story since I think#tsukushi would explode if yuriko talked to her yuriko would think shes so cool and mature and shed praise tsukushi sm#anyways I should rly sleep now gn

Coming Home (C.E)
Chris Evans Fanfiction (Fanfiction Masterlist)
Summary: dad!Chris Evans. Chris comes home to his twins fighting and he scolds them. But he also takes care of their wounds with you and then you all go out to eat ice cream and have a family day.
Warnings: None. Minimum angst but fluff all the way.
._._._._.
"Where are the kids?" Your husband came and sat right next to you on the couch. It was a shock to him when he didn't see his two little munchkins clinging to his legs the moment he entered the house. It has been kind of their routine from the moment they could walk on their little two legs.
“They are busy playing in their play room. Why are you not happy about it?” You knew that after a full day of shooting, coming home to two energetic kids was tiring and stressful. So you were shocked when he wasn’t glad to have a moment of peace by himself.
“Well, they are a part of my routine now. It feels weird not having them jumping around me.” The three year olds have always been more attached to Chris than you. Initially, you were a little jealous that the twins focused all their attention on your husband but now you were glad. Having a piece of quiet while he handled the children was pretty awesome.
You both had pretty successful careers and when the twins came into your lives, you both decided that you would handle it all together. In the start, each one of your married girlfriend told you that you had to quit your job as the marketing head because being a mom was a full time job. You were scared and when you shared your concerns with Chris, he consoled you and told you that you would both do it all. Having successful careers while being good parents.
“Just spend sometime with me while Emma and Jason are distracted.” Pouring him a glass of wine, you leaned in to him with your head on his shoulder.
“That is a good way to spend my evening. How was your day, sweetheart?”
“It was hell. My boss gave me a project to complete with a bizarre timeline and when I couldn’t complete it on time. He just took it all out on me in front of my colleague.” Today was humiliating for you and you couldn’t wait to get home, drink a nice glass of wine and relax. “Hated it, babe. How about you?
“Well, my co star couldn’t get her part right so we had to do the same scene five times. We are behind on shooting now and I have to get up early tomorrow morning so that we can catch up to the schedule.” Sighing, he took a long sip of the red liquid and felt his muscles relaxing.
There was a moment of silence that enveloped the room and you just basked in it. “A crappy day for us both.”
“Indeed. Let’s do something exciting then.” He kissed you and just when things were about to get heated, a piercing scream interrupted the moment.
“What-What is happening?” He was still in a haze and couldn’t properly interpret anything.
“It looks like your kids are fighting again.”
“Are you going to handle them?”
“Oh no!” Laughing at his incredulous request, you picked up your glass again. “You wanted to spend time with them so go on.”
Chris got up from the couch and went upstairs. Emma and Jason love each other to death but they have been fighting from the womb. Emma is the stubborn one and while, Jason backs out most of the time. Sometimes, he retaliates and it turns real bad, real fast. They were pretty hot headed, just like you.
“What is happening here?” The dad mode was fully in place when he saw his little girl sitting on the floor with hands pressed to a bloody forehead and his little boy trying to console her.
“She pushed me and then I pushed her. Not my fault. But she hurt, daddy.” The panic in Jason’s eyes was evident.
“(Y/N)! Come here, right now!” You scrambled to your feet as soon as Chris’s voice boomed across the living room. “You never hurt your sister, Jason. This is not alright.” The stern voice was new for Chris but the situation required it.
“But, daddy-”
“No excuses, Mister. Now, apologise to your sister and no toys for you for the whole week.” He got in to action with the first aid kit that he took out of their walk in closet. Emma was still crying her lungs out even when Chris tried to console her. She was not letting him touch the wound and was squirming uncontrollably in his lap.
“Daddy, why you always bla- blame me? Hate you.” Hiccuping, he stuttered on the big words and then stomped out of the room. You tried to stop your son but he just ran past you.
“What is- Oh my god!” The blood was now soaking up your little girl’s shirt and she still wouldn’t let Chris touch the wound.
The one thing that your kids inherited from your husband was the fear of blood and stitches. The small three year old knew that a boo boo that hurts really bad will lead to stitches. You knew how to handle all three of your babies in situation like these. Taking Emma from your husband, you hugged her lightly.
“Bubba, I need to look at your boo boo and then you can have the Elsa bandage.”
“Promise?”
“Promise.” When she removed her chubby, little hand, you were relieved that the cut was not big or deep. A bandage would just do the trick. You softly hummed a tune in her ears while you applied an antiseptic to the wound and then the band aid. She had tears streaming down her face and she was sniffling quietly. Chris took her from you when you were done and gently rocked her in his arms. He always loved it when both your children seeked comfort in you. It reminded him of how lucky he was to have you. “Where did Jason go?”
“I scolded his regarding this and he threw a tantrum.” When Emma heard Jason’s name, she further curled herself into his chest.
“Give her to me.” Raising her face by holding her chin, you sternly asked her. “Tell me what happened, young lady?”
With a guilty tone, she told you both that she was the one who pushed Jason first. They were both playing with the doll house that Chris bought Emma as her third birthday present. Jason wanted to add his toy cars to the doll house but she won’t allow it. She pushed him first and he hit his wrist on the small coffee table but then he pushed her back. When she fell back, she hit her head on the side of the wooden house.
“You are going to apologise to him, Emma. I told you that this much anger is not alright, bubba.” Chris took her to the twin’s room that had two different themes running through it. Emma was never a fan of the color pink so she went with purple and Jason really loved yellow, so he got that. The room looked like a clown’s den but Chris was never the one to deny his children’s requests. They had his whole heart well, except you.
“Jace, Emma would like to say something to you.” Setting her on her feet, she went towards his elder brother by barely three minutes.
“I am sorry, Jacey. Never should have pushed you. Kiss your boo boo to make up?” He nodded gently when his sister climbed in to the body. Extending the bruised wrist, Emma held it in her hands and lightly pecked on it. Meanwhile, you got a numbing cream for Jason and you stopped in the doorway with Chris and watched their interaction. They were your and Chris’s two little bundle of joys and you both couldn’t get enough.
“I am sorry that I yelled at you, baby. You two will not have your toys for a week. But who wants ice cream right now?” They both jumped at the mention of their favorite treat.
Chris had a way with the children. He completed all their wishes from eating ice cream as dinner or buying the most expensive toys for them. Making them happy was his primary job and he fulfilled it with great joy. However, he knew when to step up. He knew when to tell them no because he didn’t want his children to be some spoiled brats. He knew how to mediate and that was one of the many thing that you loved about him.
“I will get your jackets while daddy will help you with your shoes.” Going downstairs, you placed Dodger’s food in his bowl because you were going to be out for sometime. Chris always turns a simple outing to a full blown family day. A walk in the park, dinner at a high end restaurant and then shopping at the mall.
“Let’s go.” He buckled both the kids in their respective booster seats and made sure that they both had their preferred stuff toys. God knows, if they didn’t have them on their car ride.
The ice cream place on the fifth avenue was your favorite because it was where Chris took you on your first date. Both the children went for chocolate ice creams and Chris cleaned them up after they were done anything. It was so wholesome to watch him perform his dad duties.
“Then Oliver tried to eat dirt and the teacher gave him a time out.” You never understood why your son was friends with that boy because all he ever cared about was dirt.
“That’s why I hate boys. They are dirty.”
“That’s right, bubba. They are all dirty and disgusting. You stay away from all of them.” Gently nudging him with your shoulders, you playfully scoffed at him. He was sometimes very protective of his children.
“Ollie said girls also have icky germs.”
“Yes. You also stay away from them.” Chris was full on laughing at the situation right now because both the kids were in some serious thoughts.
“Okay dadda.” They both started skipping on the side walk and already started bickering about who was their dad’s favorite. He took you in his arms and kissed you on the forehead.
“Thank you for all this, babe. I love you.” He was truly thankful for you and for everything that you brought in his life.
“I love you too. Now let’s buckle them in before they start pushing each other again.”
Hope you guys enjoyed it!!

you want me to fuck you in your car? - lh
professor!luke reconnects with his high school sweetheart and they end up having car sex.
smut. 2.4k
feedback is appreciated !
Tumblr media
luke goes to the bar after a long day at the school. they’re preparing everything for the next pta meeting. it’s tomorrow. he sits on a stool at the counter and orders a beer. he listens to the chill music coming from the speakers. it’s almost like being at starbucks. looking around, he notices the couples behind him. there’s one on the left corner, another by the window. sometimes he wishes he was in a relationship. he misses it. the only real relationship he’s ever had was with a girl from his school. all that’s happened next has been nothing but friends with benefits and one-night stands. he can’t help being almost addicted to sex. it frees him. he likes the feeling of being in control, especially because he feels like he has no power over anything anymore. luke checks his phone almost by accident, like he didn’t mean to open instagram and see the messages no one sent. it’s 8.23.
sofía goes to the bar after a long day at the studio. a new artist is trying to get their music out on the world. they pay’s good. the artist? not so much. a long day of editing vocals. she goes to the counter and looks at all the bottles of alcohol that are on the wall. she orders a beer. while she waits for the bartender to bring her her drink, sofía looks around and sees a familiar face. is that-? it’s the same nose, the same lips, the same blue eyes. but his hair is longer and curlier. he doesn’t wear jeans and flannels anymore, he wears a well-tailored gray suit. a chain around his neck. is that-?
when the beers are brought to the customers, sofía makes her way towards him. if it is the guy she thinks she is... her first kiss, her first time having sex, the car trips, the classes together and making funny faces at each other.
luke? she asks, tapping his shoulder. he’s been on his phone this whole time and hasn’t noticed her.
at the touch, luke looks up and sees her. her thick brows and lush lips in a earthy nude tone. she’s wearing a black, loose crop-top and high-waisted jeans. she doesn’t look like the girl he used to know. dresses and tights, converse, a raggy look. but her tone is the same. the same distinct voice.
they engage in conversation about the past and present. i’m teaching at our old school. really? yeah, maths. it’s boring. they talk about her work. yeah, i’m working on a studio for the first time in my life. that’s crazy, isn’t it? they laugh over three beers and decide to give each other their numbers so they can go on a date later in the week.
wow, sofía. he remembers her teenage years as he walks home from the bar. she used to be a rebel. breaking curfew and smoking in the parking lot of their high school. she was only sixteen. he was a year older. they started hanging out because of friends in common and a similar taste in music. i play the guitar, i learned a green day song the other day. show me. and he would play the chords and start singing for her. he didn’t have the best vocals, and he was shy. she would tease him and yell encore! and he would blush in his room. they shared their first kiss in her car, after going bowling with the rest of their friends. it was cold outside and the heater was on to the maximum. you’re really pretty, he said as he pushed a strand of hair behind her ear.
tuesday. that’s the day of their date. they have been texting, mostly silly stuff about their date and how the bar they’re going to has a pearl jam live tribute band performing there. they both love pearl jam. they used to listen to the album ten in her room for what it seemed hours. her mom would come up to the room and open the door without knocking, asking if they wanted coffee or dinner.
sofía puts on a semi-flowy nineties dress. blue. small white daisies. she does her makeup. turquoise on the inner corner of her eyes. she’s excited, and a little bit nervous. well, it’s luke, after all. he’s seen her at her worst. when she couldn’t leave her bed and wouldn’t go to school because she was too depressed. in all fairness, she witnessed some tragic moments herself. he would fight people at parties because of his anger issues. he never, ever, did lay a hand on her. he loved her and respected her. she sighs as she looks at her reflection in the elevator mirror.
a text.
i’m stuck at work.
oh, she replies.
but i wanna see u
it’s okay luke
come meet me here. i could go get us some donuts from the teacher’s room.
she laughs and says okay.
luke smiles down at his phone. the classroom is empty but he’s grading papers. he hates doing that at home. his apartment is for sleeping and having fun. the school is for working. he hopes sofía doesn’t hate him too much for changing the plans. he didn’t mean to. sighing, luke leans back on his chair and puts his arms over his head. hands holding it. he wonders what will happen. will he have fun? will it be like time never happened? they broke up when she left the state to study music production. but they never fought. no one felt like the other wasn’t doing enough. they knew they needed to start a new chapter in their lives. without each other. luke goes to the bathroom to check himself in the mirror. he doesn’t look too bad. a white button down and black pants. he undoes the first four buttons, exposing more of his chest and the chain he always wears. he runs his fingers through his hair and leaves the curls in place.
a text.
i’m outside.
he meets her in the parking lot, she hasn’t left the car. so, he climbs in the passenger seat and smiles. hi, he says. sorry for ruining our date. don’t worry about it, she says. i just wanted to see you. both of their eyes sparkle. they haven’t been in her car in so long. sofía still drives the same nissan versa she had since her junior year in high school. sorry it’s messy, she looks at the cds on each compartment of the sides of the car, and the floor beneath luke’s leg. there are a dozen of them. nirvana, 5SOS, halsey, lana del rey, tori amos, the cardigans...
you listen to cds in the car? he asks, picking up a case of a tyler, the creator album. yeah, is that nerdy? i feel like they sound better. she blushes, not sure where to put her hands, so she places them on her lap, playing with the rings on her fingers. this man had her whole heart when she was a teenager, and he looks different, but he still feels the same. they laugh about stories from their high school days. he reminds her of the time they went to a coffee shop, but couldn’t decide which, so they ended up walking around for an hour. no coffee.
you’re still beautiful to me, he says suddenly. she smiles. they stay quiet for a second before she pushes a strand of hair behind his ear.
they’re in the back of the car. luke is shirtless, sitting on the middle. sofía is on top of him, dressed hiked up to her hips. sorry i’m nervous, she says softly. i haven’t been with anyone in a while. there’s been a drought, she jokes. luke chuckles and cups her face. i’ve missed you having you like this. he kisses her, tenderly at first. passionately next. the car is playing an old soundgarden album. it feels like time goes backwards. they’re still seventeen and they’re about to have sex.
luke’s hands trail down her neck, down her collarbones and place themselves on her hips. he’s semi-hard. having her on his lap, both legs at each side of him, is a sight he didn’t know he needed. the parking lot of the school is quiet. sofía leans down to kiss him again. he bites her lower lip and drags it. her hands press against his naked chest. she plays with the chain on his neck. so sexy of him.
your mom will hear us, he said. a worried tone in his voice. she’s asleep, she reminded him. she took her night pills. she won’t hear us.
sofía rolls her hips into him, shyly. this earns a smirk from his lips. she didn’t use to be this cautious. she’d always been the one in charge. he wonders about the drought she told him about. but then she tugs at the chain and he lets out a small sound. length growing in size. you want me to fuck you in your car? he dares to ask. sofía’s face is buried in his neck and he feels her nod. please, i want you, she says. his hand finds her panties. he finds them wet for him. a devious smile on his face. she always got so wet around him. even if he was just messing with her on his room. the would watch a movie and his hand would find the way beneath her jeans to finger her.
luke lets out a satisfied, small sound. she kisses his neck, biting softly. he unzips his pants and struggles to push them and his briefs down. she stands a little and his her head on the ceiling. careful there, he teases with a smile. i’m sorry, i’m so awkward. no, not at all. they kiss as luke tugs her panties down. she moans so imperceptibly, if her mouth hadn’t been near his earlobe, he wouldn’t have noticed. sofía trails a hand down his chest, she reaches for his length between their bodies. he’s fully erect now. luke groans. fuck, he says.
she remembers going down on him several times. both of their rooms, her car, bathrooms. her touch is delicate and luke needs her to be rougher. he’s gotten used to hard-hitting sex. mostly because of her. she used to be so wild. what had happened? he looks for her face, cups it once again and looks into her eyes. it’s me, sofía. it’s just me. his smile is reassuring and she feels her skin bristle. okay, she says. her fingertips are a bit rough from playing guitar, and the sensation is driving luke insane. she pumps him a few times until there’s precum leaking from him. hold on, he says. i have a condom in my wallet. can you hand me my pants? she smiles and does as he says.
the first few times they didn’t use protection. there was a pregnancy scare, but they went through it alone. no one ever found out, not even their parents. not even their closest friends. it was their little secret.
when he rolls the condom on him, sofía bumps her head on the ceiling once again. they both laugh. she feels more relaxed. and watching him, look at her with hungry eyes, she can feel herself give into him. fuck me, luke. she whispers against his lips. luke nods his head and adjusts himself, ready to enter her. her folds are slippery and he likes that. she’s always been so tight. as he pushes in, sofía gasps. she hadn’t remember how big he was. hands on her waist, luke waits for her to adjust to his length. she feels so good. his eyes are closed, but he forces them open. ride me, he murmurs. okay, she sighs in pleasure and starts rolling her hips into him. luke pulls out almost completely before he slams back inside, earning the most beautiful moan from her. you make such pretty sounds, you always have. she smiles and places both hands around his neck. she feels more comfortable. comfortable enough to ride him like she used to do. fast and rough. fuck, fuck, fuck, he groans, watching her eyes close and a smirk on her lips. she moans out when he hits a particularly sensitive spot.
they’ve both missed this. the closeness, the intimacy. luke hasn’t been with anyone like that since her. no one has made him see stars exploding beneath his eyelids. now, there are fireworks there. her mouth hangs open as she bounces on top of him. god, she breathes heavily. luke kisses her chin, the base of her throat. a hand goes down, reaching between them so his fingers can touch her clit. she gasps again. come on, come on, he repeats in her ear. i want you to fall apart on me. his fingers move in a circular motion, making her moans grow louder. seeing her like this, losing control on top of him, is so sexy. she’s always been sexy. and tonight, even with her dress on, she’s the most arousing creature he’s ever met.
i’m so close, luke. fuck. her muscles tense up and there’s a swirly feeling in her stomach. he fucks her senseless. he fucks her gently. he pushes inside as much as he can and pulls her hair. please, she whines. his grip grow tighter on her waist, guiding her up and down. you’re so gorgeous, he groans. sofía nods her head and bites her lower lip while her head is tilted to one side. she bounces on him like she’s riding a racing horse.
sofía feels her arms tighten around his neck and soon she’s falling apart right on top of him. her moans are loud enough for the trees outside to witness it. fuck, luke! she screams as his fingers keep playing with her clit. luke’s eyes are widened with lust. he’s about to cum, too.
she falls on top of him and he keeps fucking her. her eyes are closed and watery as she places her forehead on his naked shoulder. don’t stop, she hushes against his skin. luke moves his hips up and down until it gets sloppy. shit, fuck, he groans and soon enough, he feels everything tighten and he’s spilling inside the condom. he digs his fingers into her body, causing her to sigh with satisfaction.
he stays inside her after they both calm down. cockwarming. they look at each other’s eyes and laugh. i’ve missed you, luke. she blushes against him, holding him tight in her arms. me too, princess. you did so well.

The lyrics used are of “Falling (other POV)” by THE cutie, Ally Naso 🤍
// masterlist //
**reposted bc tumblr is messing up the tags & nobody can view it. sigh.
..
It all started when a friend of yours had recorded you singing in your school’s bathroom during senior year.
7 years ago, you wouldn’t have believed it if somebody told you that you would be a 13-time Grammy nominated artist, as well as having 6 of that very award sitting on your shelf at your childhood home – one for Best Artist, and one for Album of the year.
You would have laughed even.
But it wasn’t a joke nor was it a dream you wished to never wake up from; it was as real as life could be.
You were successful in the industry and if any of your fans were asked, they would say that it was because of your immense talent and unproblematic, empathetic, kind character.
It was one of the many reasons why so many people on the internet had shipped you with a certain English man, him having been only 20 when you went viral and got signed.
A year into the industry, it was one day when you remember your Twitter notifications going crazy;
“HARRY STYLES JUST SAID HE LOVES YOUR MUSIC AND THINKS YOU’RE BEAUTIFUL”
“omg pls tell us you watched 1d’s interview with jimmy kimmel”
“IT’S FINALLY HAPPENING! CAN YOU PLEASE BE TOGETHER ALREADY???”
Looking back at that memory, you remember how you were a shaking and overwhelmed mess as you had clicked on the link everybody was sending you.
The video had begun with the audience cheering as the camera was on Jimmy and the 5 men near him.
And there he sat; in a black suit with a white shirt underneath, medium-length hair looking like he had run his fingers through many times, his hands clasped as he looked at Jimmy.
“Who’s most likely to let a woman split the band?” Jimmy had asked.
They had looked at each other, not answering for a moment before Niall chimed in with a laugh as he pointed at Harry, “Harry would let his celebrity crush do that.”
Harry rolled his eyes jokingly as his bandmates agreed and laughed, slapping his hands against his thighs in feigned annoyance.
“Who is that? Who’s your celebrity crush?”
“Just this talented person.” He had tried to smile his way through the question, but no one was having it.
“You know Y/N Y/L/N? She’s an amazing singer,” Louis told Jimmy.
“Y/N!” Jimmy beamed, “We had her on the show two weeks ago.”
“Yeah, he watched that.” Liam had gestured towards Harry.
Hiding his face in his hands for a moment, the audience cheered as his friends continued to laugh.
“She’s amazing, isn’t she?” Jimmy asked Harry in a teasing manner.
Having had decided to get it over with, Harry nodded as he clasped his hands together again, “She’s very talented and beautiful.”
“Lovie, can you help me with the necklace? My nails are still drying.”
You looked up from your place on the couch, sitting in your long dress looking so beautiful that Harry had lost track of time of getting into his own suit because he was too busy giving you a photoshoot on his phone.
Standing up, you reached and clasped his necklace for him, dusting his shoulders to signal that you were done.
Turning, you were met with your boyfriend of 4 years beaming at you before he leaned to press his lips against yours.
“You look so good.” You smiled up at him, “So beautiful.”
“Have to try to catch up with how you look tonight,” he replied with a wide smile, “Nervous?”
“Not really.” You admitted.
Amusingly and completely and utterly in love, Harry tilted his head slightly, “Any reason why you’re not? You usually hate those.”
It was true. You didn’t really like award shows because of how tiresome all the process was; hair, makeup, dressing up, walking only to pause every second, the repeated questions you have been answering for years, how more judgmental the world was on nights like these.
But it was always when Harry was able to be by your side that you liked the night, and the tall man knew it, but he had always loved hearing you say it.
To feed his ego, you wrapped your arms around his neck, “Because you’ll be there.”
“Music to my ears.” He joked, shaking his head slightly.
“Just feeding that already overfed ego of yours, baby.”
“Excuse you.” He pecked your lips, “Let me add food for Evie then we can leave.”
“I’ll do it, don’t mess up your nails.” You patted his chest before moving away to attend to your cat.
The fans and reporters all had anticipated the moment of yours and boyfriend’s arrival, and the both of you knew it.
You were fairly private with your relationship. While everyone knew you were together, the both of you didn’t always post about one another but when you did, it went viral – something you and Harry, shamelessly, enjoyed.
It was why during moments like this, everyone was eager. Reporters were hungry for content, all having different intentions, but you spend enough time in the industry and you sort of begin knowing what to say and how to say it.
Harry was scheduled to perform, something everyone knew of, but it was the fact that you were joining him not on the red carpet, but on stage that they didn’t.
Getting out of the car together, the screams and flashing lights were then doubled.
Harry closed the door behind you with a polite smile to the security standing. Bending a little, he adjusted your dress’s short train for you as you looked back at it before you looked up at him.
As if they weren’t snapping pictures like crazy yet, you reached and fixed Harry’s hair at the front, his eyes looking up with a smile as you did so.
“Thanks, love.”
With that, Harry placed his arm around your waist as you walked to the first spot on the red carpet.
“When was the last time we appeared together? They’re going mad.” You whispered, looking at Harry as he smiled to the cameras.
He chuckled, looking at you, “I think we deprive them too much.”
“Let’s give them enough content to last a year.”
Nobody but the both of you knew what you meant, and it was why the flashing lights and camera shutter sounds were then tripled the moment Harry’s lips were on yours in a soft kiss.
“Can we sign stuff?” You asked a woman standing on the sides, “Can we see the fans?”
When she nodded at you, you and Harry ignored posing for a few minutes to converse and meet fans.
“I love you and Harry so much!” One fan said shakily as you signed a paper for him.
“Thank yo- Hey! I saw you in Amsterdam last year, right?” You grinned.
And that was another thing not only your fans loved about you, but Harry, too.
You were no stranger to connections. You were no stranger to making people feel seen and treating them in a way that no fan expected to be treated – a friend, and you remember friends.
“Harry, do you think Y/N will win Songwriter of the Year?” A fan asked.
Harry shrugged with a smile, “I hope so but we all know she is anyway.” He waved his hand with a joking manner, making the closest fans laugh.
“What about you? Do you think you’ll win Artist of the Year?”
“I don’t know,” he smiled, “There are so many amazing artists. I wish them all the best.”
“He’s a humble man,” you teased, patting his shoulder, “We all know he is anyway.”
You were confused as they, Harry included, laughed in shock. “What?”
“He literally has just said the same thing about you.”
You laughed, looking at Harry, “Shut up, no way!”
“The both of you have been doing that for years.” One fan commented with a grin, “It’s adorable. It’s like telepathy or something.”
“Oh yeah, we are telepathic,” Harry nodded, “It gets a little scary sometimes.”
“Heeey!” You laughed, “It’s actually helpful. One of us would be just walking at home and we’d look at each other and know that the other just means something like “feed Evie” or “take out the trash””
“This is so cute!”
“Harry, what are you performing tonight?”
“You’ll find out in a bit.” He pointed.
Shortly, you and Harry had to take more pictures and do interviews before you were escorted inside.
It was the little moments that fans also lived for; how Harry held your hand as you sat so discreetly, how the both of you chatted and giggled among one another and those around you, how Harry fist-bumped the air the moment your name was called to receive your award of Songwriter of the Year before kissing you. It was how they knew this was real – how love wasn’t something you only listen people sing about or write novels for.
It was in how Harry’s eyes didn’t move from you as you gave your speech, a wide smile on his face and eyes resembling twinkling stars for crying out loud.
It was in how you ended your speech with: “This is to the man who has inspired and pushed me forward to write every single day. I love you.”
It was in how you looked more nervous than Harry himself when his category was called before you were the first to get out of your seat with a happy “yes!” once they announced that he won.
It was in how Harry cupped your face that moment to kiss you before walking to receive his award.
It was in how you remained standing, those behind you only smiling instead of being annoyed, with your hands clutched together against your heart, tearful eyes, and the brightest smile in the room.
“You’re going to tell me this is cheesy,” Harry chuckled slightly, giving a shrug as he looked at you, “But I wouldn’t be standing here, holding this, if it weren’t for you. I love you, too.”
But then Harry was about to perform and you weren’t in your seat.
The award show had decided to make a skit of it, the host being Miley had held her microphone as she stood in the empty isle beside yours and Harry’s empty seats.
“We know Harry Styles is performing in minutes,” she said, looking at the camera with a playful smile, “But where is Y/N Y/L/N? We know, we know,” she nodded, “Probably backstage for some extra good luck but-” people laughed, causing Miley to pause and chuckle, “But seriously, guys. There’s a show and it must go on.”
“It’s going on.” Harry said from backstage into his mic before the stage went dark.
It wasn’t until piano tunes sounded that the arena grew dim, a spotlight on the piano at the center of the stage where you sat, your fingers gentle against the keys as you played the beginning notes of Falling.
“I'm in my bed,
And you're not here
And there's no one to blame
But the drink in my wandering hands.” Harry sang as he came on stage, holding the mic in his hand before taking a seat beside you.
Everyone had expected him to sing the next verse, but it wasn’t his voice that they then heard.
“I'm in my bed
Instead of yours
Cried to sleep turned off all of lights and locked all of the doors.” You sang, eyes on the piano keys.
“Forget what I said
It's not what I meant
And I can't take it back
I can't unpack the baggage you left.” His eyes were on you, body turned slightly towards you as he felt like the both of you were in your living room in front of your white piano.
“I replay what you said
Don’t know if it’s true
Left with two broken hearts and there’s nothing that we could undo.” You sang, closing your eyes as you got ready for the chorus.
“What am I now? What am I now?
What if I'm someone I don't want around?
I'm falling again, I'm falling again, I'm falling.”
“What am I now? What am I now?
Don’t want to cry ‘cause I can’t stand the sound
I'm falling again, I'm falling again, I'm falling.”
The both of you sang together, your voice being softer and quieter than Harry’s.
“What if I'm down?
What if I'm out?
What if I'm someone you won't talk about?
I'm falling again, I'm falling again, I'm falling.”
“What if I'm down? What if I'm out?
What if you’re someone I can’t live without?
I'm falling again, I'm falling again, I'm falling.”
It was a version nobody had heard before, and it was why everyone was quiet, the only sound coming from you, Harry, and your lone instrument.
It was something you had written together following a rough patch of your relationship, and everyone knew that it was more personal with the way the both of you sang.
When his eyes weren’t closed, Harry sang as he looked at you, and he knew that performing this song meant more to the both of you than anyone could imagine. One look at your face and Harry knew you were reliving the night of when the both of you had written this; eyes a little red from crying, bodies hot, Harry wearing a hoodie of yours while you sat in your underwear with his purple fluffy robe on.
“Can I do this alone without ever needing you again?”
“And I get the feeling that you'll never need me again.”
You both sang the bridge together, yours being shorter than Harry’s note as you carried a softer tone, closing your eyes as you played the piano, feeling your throat close up before gulping.
He knew.
It was why the final chorus was sung softer and quieter, Harry’s forehead resting against your temple for a moment as the both of you sang.
“I’m falling again, I’m falling again, I’m falling.” Harry finished, putting his mic down as he stared at you with a small smile, watching you in your element as you played.
Managing to look at him as you played single soft notes, you sang, “I’m falling again, I’m falling again, I’m falling.”
You played the end single notes, looking at Harry with tearful eyes and a bashful smile.
It was like you were unaware to the erupted cheer and round of applause, you threw your arms around Harry, feeling his arms wrap around you instantly.
Crying from the overwhelming emotions, you were thankful your mascara was waterproof. You called it.
“I love you,” Harry whispered in your ear, “I love you so much.”

You are mine
Pairing: Alive! Luke Patterson x Fem Reader
Summary: Luke and Y/N have many problems and commitments in their lives and instead of solving them they decide to blame the other. Eventually, the fights end their relationship. Luke travels with Sunset Curve during the summer and when he returns he has a pretty clear idea in his head. He wants his girl back.
But it's not as easy as it sounds when the competition had 3 months to score points with the cheerleader in his absence.
Tumblr media
 Three months. Luke has gone three months without seeing Y/N. They have been inseparable since they met when they were 12 years old, never spending more than days without seeing each other. But the moment they broke up Luke knew he had to get out of the freaking town because if he couldn't distance himself he was going to end up the very next day at his ex-girlfriend's house begging her to accept him back. And the truth is that both needed to breathe and rethink what each one is looking for in their future.
Because although he’s head over heels in love with her, the truth is that both were in a moment of their lives in which they couldn’t and specially wanted to adapt to what the other needed. They had a lot of different responsabilities and things to do, it was just hard sometimes to add more to the list.
Which meant that she missed several of his concerts, that he was late for her birthday party, that there was no time for dates, that they didn’t feel supported. Many arguments trying to fix things that never came to anything because neither of them really wanted to commit. None willing to give in.
And then the painful but friendly breakup in early summer happened.
Bobby has a truck and the boys decided that doing a roadtrip during the summer performing wherever they could to earn enough to keep traveling was a brilliant idea to distract him and make the band known, and he agreed without looking back.
Things turned out much better than any of the four expected and they even had the luxury of traveling one more week, so they have a week of homework to catch up on. Will his relationship have ended on good enough terms to ask Y/N? Homework is not that big of a deal for him but it usually takes him a little longer to miss more than 15 assignments.
As soon as Luke opens the front door, his eyes fall straight on her. She is on her back trying to hang up some posters, but he would recognize that body wherever, from whatever angle.
His eyes immediately scan her wrist, which doesn't have any of the couple matching black-and-white bracelets they both used to wear all the time.
The first of many reminders Luke would get that day about his breakup with the cheerleader.
Y/N stands on her tiptoes trying to reach the height required for the poster, but no matter how hard she tries, she can't reach it. She’s just going to give up and ask for help when she feels some strong and determined hands lift her without any sign of trouble or doubt.
She doensn’t need to turn her head or listen to his voice, the strong grip on each side of her hips and his intoxicating perfume are more than enough to confirm who is lifting her in the air.
Luke is not playing fair. Y/N hears his husky and seductive voice as his lips lightly brush her ear. “I know you love my hands on you, but do you plan to put up the poster at some point?”
The cheerleader is shocked for a few seconds, until murmurs around them remind her that they are not alone. She puts the poster as fast as she can and instructs her ex-boyfriend to take her down.
Reluctantly she turns around and for the first time in quite a few weeks her eyes meet her favorite ones, which at least for the moment, are deep green.
"You can't do that, Lucas. We broke up."
He smirks. She only calls him like that when she's trying really hard to scold him even though it's not what she actually wants. She tries to look more determined and tough, but he can see through it all.
He decides to rest one of his arms on the wall, leaning just enough so that their foreheads are almost touching, and then smiles at her. One of those smiles that she used to classify as the most tender and beautiful sight in the world and that used to receive a light sweet kiss in return.
But this time, instead of a kiss, her gaze tells him that he is crossing the limit and that it’s better to stop. Neither has to say anything, she doesn't need to throw his arm out of the way or yell at him to move.
The two of them know each other better than anyone, and when Luke sees that expression, her wrinkled nose, her eyes lit with annoyance, her crooked mouth, he knows it's time to retreat.
“I’m sorry ba-” His gaze automatically saddens as he remembers that he can no longer call her that. He can see that her eyes also look a little sadder and duller after imagining what the guitarist was going to say. “I’m sorry Y/N. I just missed you.”
“Luke, look at this man. I've been here for 10 minutes and already 14 girls gave me their numbers to pass them to you! I guess word got around that you're single again.”
Alex and Reggie go blank when they are close enough to see their beautiful friend, since Luke was covering her from their sight. The guitarist turns to tap Reggie on the shoulder, and Alex decides to hug her to ease the tension in the air. Her hands are shaking, and Alex is not sure if from sadness or jealousy, but he decides not to say anything and keep hugging her, trying to make her feel supported.
“We missed you so much, we are not Sunset Curve without you.” Alex confesses loud enough for the other two members present to listen and nod their heads.
“I missed you too, boys. My summer was too peaceful and quiet without my favorite band.” The drummer lets go of her and Reggie replaces him by hugging her tightly, moving his arms behind her back silently asking Luke what to do with all the papers in his hands. The annoyed guitarist takes them and throws them away without thinking twice. Reg whispers "rude" and his friend rolls his eyes at him.
Reggie lets go and the four of them stare each other for a few seconds, none knowing what to say or do.
"Hello, sorry but I came to escort this beauty to her next class."
The fifth voice belongs to Cameron Green, who has just appeared in front of them and offers the girl his arm to intertwine with hers.
The perfect captain of the football team. Luke has known for years that the guy has some feelings for his girl, but he never had to worry because he knows her, she would never do anything that would put his trust at risk. But now, things are different.
She takes a step forward to accept the gesture and turns to see the boys one last time.
"I guess I'll see you on music class." She offers an apologetic smile, Alex smiles back to let her know it’s okay.
"But what about lunch break?" Reggie asks, after all, the five have been sitting together for years, they didn’t even separate when Y/N entered the cheer squad.
"I promised to sit down with Cam, sorry guys. But see you later!"
Y/N turns to look at Luke for a few seconds, as if waiting for him to stop her. But never happened.
So both her and Cameron walk until the band can’t see them in the sea of students. Reggie and Alex turn to see their friend, who has his hands wrapped in fists and looks totally crimson, his face irradiates frustration as he clenches his teeth.
“I prOmiseD tO SiT DoWN WitH CaM, fucking hell I’m out of here.”
“You are not going anywhere, man! It’s time for an intervention.” Reggie takes his friends by the arm and leads them to the janitor's closet where he pushes them and closes the door.
“The janitor's closet, really?” Alex asks and Reggie smiles proudly. “..Okay.”
"This is stupid, can we get out of here now?" They both return their attention to Luke, his face radiating despair.
"No. You can't keep prolonging this anymore. What did you think? That no one was going to try to date the most popular girl in school? Are you really so self-centered as to believe that no one would dare just because you are the ex boyfriend? Local rockstar or not, she’s a gem."
“Of course not, I just went into denial, I guess. All I know is that I miss her. I missed her every day this endless summer. I know the experience was amazing, but every night while I was singing the only thing I could think about is how much I wanted to see her beautiful dorky face in the small audience. The way she blushes when I'm singing straight to her direction and I send her a wink. The passion with which she sings each of the songs that she has been listening to over and over for years. How proud she looks of us as we give that final bow.
And it’s stupid, you know? Because somehow, I forced myself to think that having a girlfriend was depriving me of the opportunity to live experiences like that, to live my dream the fullest.
And what I ended up discovering when I did them is that my dream is simply never going to be fulfilled without her. As Alex said, she is as much part of Sunset Curve as any of us. And that now she has other interests or priorities doesn’t diminish how much she loves us and how much we love her, our dreams don't have to collide. And I'm a real idiot who took 3 months to realize it while I'm sure that fake dude was doing his fight to win her over.”
“FINALLY!” They both scream while hugging their brother. “Dude, I’m pretty sure she’s still in love with you, just act fast. You both have to stop being so stubborn and learn to give in for each other's sake from time to time. You cannot ask the other what you do not give.” Alex advises.
“I’ll win my girl back.” Luke smiles, hoping that if he says it with enough conviction it will come true.
The boys decide to go back to classes, by the time they are about to reach the lockers for gym, the other guys are already there and a lively conversation is heard.
“Man, it's not like I've been in love with her for years. I don't even know her. But stealing Luke Patterson’s girlfriend who is casually the most popular girl in school, is simply the step that makes you a legend in this small town. Not to mention that perfect body, what I would do to her if I had the chance."
No one has noticed the Sunset Curve members are present, and the second they hear him Reggie and Alex cover Luke's mouth and drag him out of there.
“I’m going to kill him! And before you say it, I don't care if it's the stupid football captain! If his monkeys hit me I have the satisfaction that I already gave him a black eye and I took out 3 teeth from him. No one is going to play or talk about her like that!"
To say that he is angry is an understatement. He is shaking with fury, moving in the small hall from one side to the other trying to calm the urge to slam his fist against the wall, because if he is going to slam it somewhere it will be in that idiot's face.
“You have to control yourself and be smart for once! he is the golden boy of the school, no matter how popular you are, your reputation as a bad boy is not going to win against his. Maybe not even with Y/N, she might think you're just fired up to see them together."
As much as it hurts to admit it, Alex is right. That clown has convinced everyone in the school with the idea that he doesn’t break a plate. While the guitarist is famous for skipping classes and playing clubs until dawn.
“And what am I supposed to do? I hope you don't suggest that I just sit around doing nothing."
Reggie takes two steps back in case Alex's suggestion is in fact Luke to do nothing. After all, he has to protect that adorable face.
“I’m not telling you to do nothing, I’m asking you to pay attention to what’s really important. Don't focus on him, focus on her."
He’s not going to say it aloud, but Alex is right, again. She should always be his main focus.
After his friends manage to convince him to take the peaceful route, Luke spends the rest of the day searching for the right words to say, but it’s difficult to find inspiration when every time he turns the love of his life is next to a jerk who is only trying to deceive her.
Not to mention lunch break, every time that idiot tried to touch her or get too close, the guitarist felt his blood boil. The only thing that kept him sane is that she politely pushed him away each and every time.
Reggie managed to convince her to come to the studio with them after her cheer training, just like they used to do last school year. The boys waited for her each time and then she accompanied them to their band rehearsals. Or at least they did before both she and Luke started arguing for not wanting to put in that extra effort.
Alex and Reggie watched as the relationship began to decline and the fights began to escalate. And when the breakup became official, they knew they had to keep the exes away from each other. The ex couple had never been apart and it was important for them to make their friends realized how much they want and love each other's presence in their lives. How lucky they are to have such a supportive partner at their side.
They never said anything to Luke but they could see how sad and depressed the guitarist looked without her. As if that spark in him was missing.
All day they were observing their girly who looked just as miserable, that special aura full of dull energy.
Alex had a theory that he explained to Reggie. When a relationship finishes going through that time where it feels new and recent, when you get used to the other as a couple, sometimes it is easy to take things for granted and not want to continue trying or giving the extra.
Sometimes you get lost in that lapse, and finding a balance is not easy. But when you love someone as much as they love each other, well, it’s easy to guess they’ll find the way.
So while Alex distracted Luke, Reggie ran to convince his girl friend to join them, which wasn't easy considering she already had plans with the football player. At that moment the bassist was grateful Luke was not around to hear that.
Once they are together, things will settle down. They have both suffered enough to know that without a doubt everything they have to do for the other is worth it. It’s time for them to stop being stubborn because Reg and Alex are not going to bear being in the middle for long. Those two can be insufferable sometimes.
So, that's how Sunset Curve ended in the stands. Watching her friend as the squad lifted her to the top of the pyramid.
Luke can't help but see her with loving eyes. He feels so proud of her, and that’s when he realizes he can’t remember the last time he actually told her, and that hurts him. She should hear those words every day, and if he is lucky enough for her to accept him back, that will be one of the first things that will change.
He's so focused on watching her, that he doesn't realize the football team is starting a fight just yards away until Reggie hits him on the shoulder.
Cameron pushes one of his teammates straight into the pyramid, which begins to disarm before the guitarist's eyes.
Some of her team manage the impact not be too strong, but she still stays motionless on the ground for a few seconds because of the shock.
Cameron Green kneels in front of her, Luke tries desperately to pass but two big guys get behind their captain to block him.
“Get the fuck out of my way!” The desperation in his voice indicates that he will do whatever it takes to get to her.
“Leave her alone already, Patterson!”
Reggie and Alex catch up with him and mentally prepare for what lies ahead, when they hear Y/N's weak voice.
"No! Luke, please. I need Luke."
The guitarist takes advantage of everyone's momentary shock after hearing her voice and manages to get to her side.
“I- I- I’m here, baby. I’m here, don’t worry. Everything will be fine.” Luke lightly caresses her cheek while examining her body, it seems that it was more the scare than anything else.
“I know.” She smiles at the contact of Luke’s hand in her skin.
“Yeah?” He asks almost in a whisper, he is hypnotized watching her. Trying with all his might not to kiss her.
“Yes, you are here. As long as we are together everything will be fine.”
“Is this your subtle way to tie me up again?” Luke teases while helping her sit up. The whole crowd watches them around the field. Cameron looking angry just a few yards away.
She laughs. A wholesome laugh, full of happiness. “Oh honey, we all know you never stopped being mine."
If there is something that turns him on, is his Y/N’s confidence. (And see her in nothing but his t-shirts but that’s not the point.)
“Right back atcha, baby.” He brushes his lips against hers while making that seducting face that she can hardly ever resist, but this time she surprises him by taking him from behind the neck and crashing her lips on his.
The people around them begin to applaud the show, and without interrupting the passionate kiss Luke puts his arms around her back and legs to lift her up and carry her away.
Reggie and Alex do a fist bump and then one looks for Y/N's things and the other for Luke's and follows them from behind.
"They endured a whole school day, wow."
"If we hadn't stolen Luke from her over summer they would have been 2 hours apart and it would have been the most embarrassing separation of all time."
"The two of them were going through a lot and they didn't know how to cope at the time, but now that they are both better, I’m very happy they’re back together, they are soulmates."
“They sure are, Reg. Did you see Cameron's face when Luke stuck his tongue down Y/N's throat? PRICELESS.”

What Happens in Vegas...Doesn’t Always Stay There - Jacob Markstrom - Part 1
Word Count: 4,885
POV: Reader
Warnings: NSFW, Language, Smut, Drinking (all the good stuff)
Notes: Well here it is the new fic that’s been in my head. I tossed around a couple different guys for this, but some of you suggested Marky and well looks like it stuck. Trying to do this a little different and keep this in an all read POV, so we shall see how that works. I don’t see this being super long maybe between 5 or 6 parts. Hope you guys enjoy. As always feedback is welcome. Happy Reading!
Tumblr media
They say that New York is the city that never sleeps but whoever 'they' is, well, they got it wrong. It has to be Vegas. Lights are always flashing whether you were indoors or out, the jangly sound of slot machines can be heard at all hours and the seven deadly sins seem to be on full display twenty-four hours a day. It's no wonder their tagline for years was 'What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.' If only that were true.
You wish you could blame someone else but you can't. Vegas was all your idea. As maid of honor, it fell to you to plan your best friend's bachelorette party, and in your mind, there was only one spot, Vegas. Now, you were second-guessing your choice as your head was pounding like there were a thousand drummers who decided to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show, only in your brain. There was only one thought that made it through the marching band playing in your head. What the hell happened last night?
 Maybe you should start off small, like where were you first, considering that the little drummer boy was now doing backflips in your head. You were definitely in bed, which was evident as you could feel the mattress underneath you. You could also feel the duvet comforter covering your body, but there was something else. Something a bit heavier, almost as if a weighted blanket was covering your stomach and your breast, but it wasn't that. It was an arm slung across your midsection and a very large hand cupping your one boob. God, you hoped it was still attached to a body. You should really take a peek. It would be the only decent thing to do.
 As you gradually lifted one eyelid open, the first thing you noticed was that you were not in your hotel room, as the wall looked completely different. No reason to panic, you told yourself. Everything would come back to you as soon as this god blessed pounding ceased. Peering the other eye open, you got back to business at seeing if there was a body attached to the arm currently trapping you to the bed. Carefully, you turned your head to the side to see a very large and very naked man firmly attached to the aforementioned arm. He was gorgeous as he lay there sleeping ever so peacefully. You drank in his features, kind of like you downed drink after drink last night. His brown hair had this golden hue to it that made your fingers want to reach out and touch it, though you refrained. Then there was the beard covering his face, not too much and not too little, and now that you were thinking about it; you definitely felt some of that beard burn on your thighs. If you could only remember last night. The only logical thing to do was to go back to the start of this, back to a time when you were sober.
 It started months ago when your best friend Kennedy got engaged. You honestly didn't see it coming that fast. She'd only been dating Ryan for a little less than a year, but he asked and she said yes, and when she asked you to be her maid of honor you screamed and laughed and cried, and told her you couldn't wait to plan her bachelorette party. Everyone knew the bridal shower was only for boring stuffy old aunts so that they could buy her the latest air fryer or new dish pattern. The bachelorette party was where all the fun was, and what better place to have it than Las Vegas.
 Of course, everyone agreed with you. The only wrench in the plan was that Kennedy decided to up her wedding date and make it a nine-month engagement. That barely left time to find a dress let alone plan the most outrageous bachelorette party of the century. You would've said decade but twenty-twenty was fastly approaching. Thankfully, you had connections. Night one was more sedate since you all were just arriving at the MGM hotel at different times; eleven of you in total when Ryan's sister decided to join at the last minute. You booked a private room at Lago in the Bellagio for all of you to enjoy.
 It was the second night, that was the piece de resistance. A limo picked you all up and took you over to Excalibur to see the legendary Australian group, Thunder from Down Under. I mean what was Vegas without seeing a male stripper or two. The next day, a private bungalow was waiting for you at Wet Republic in the MGM Hotel. One would've thought the night watching men strip naked would've been your undoing but apparently, it all started poolside.
 "I seriously can't believe he pulled you up on stage and proceeded to dry hump you up there," Kelsey rehashed.
 "Really, Kels?" Kennedy said downing another mimosa. "How could you not see that happening? (Y/N) has known Nate for a couple years. I mean he did get us front row tickets." This was all true. Nate, the emcee for Thunder from Down Under and you were friends, had been since your firm had done their calendar shoot two years ago. He had generously given you prime seating to the show that night and also set you up with a few other perks for the trip. "The only thing I'm surprised at, is that this one," she bumped you with her hip, spilling both hers and your mimosas. "Didn't end up going home with him last night."
 "Oh my god, Kenny you did not just say that." She may be the bride and your best friend but really, she was pushing the line.
 "Come on, it's not like it hasn't happened before."
 At least four pairs of eyes turned towards you, Ryan's sister Gretchen being one of them. "Ok, admittedly, I slept with him, once." Both Kennedy and Kelsey gave you that look. "Ok, maybe it was twice, but he has a girlfriend now, and we are just friends."
 "I'll give you that," Jade spoke up in your defense and suddenly she was going to earn the title of new best friend, not that the lines weren't blurred in your little group as you were all sort of best friends. "But what about Edward, the one with the turtle tattoo on his hip."
 "You were so looking at more than his hip." Eva teased while Jade simply hid behind her champagne glass. "But yeah (Y/N), he was totally hitting on you."
 "He was not."
 "Oh, he was," Kennedy added her two cents. "And as the bride I take offense, they should've been hitting on me."
 "Wait, why would they hit on you?" Jade sputtered. "You're taken bitch." Of course, bitch was said in the most loving way.
 "I'm not dead."
 "No, but I'm sure my brother wouldn't appreciate it." Leave it to Gretchen to be the mood killer. "I think I'm going to go take a nap. I'll meet you at the pool later."
 She headed out the door, and honestly, you were ecstatic about it, for she was too judgmental for your liking.  "Wait, Gretch, that's not what I meant."
 "Leave her go, maybe a nap would do her good." They were Jade's words but your sentiments. "Now back to why (Y/N) did not take that beautiful man up on his offer last night."
 "There was no offer," you insisted.
 "Come on (Y/N), there was an offer. There's always an offer. Remember when you were doing promo for that Batman flick." You tried to shut Kennedy up with a death glare, but she continued to prattle on. "We all know you ended up doing the nasty with Superman."
 "WHAT?!?!" Yeah, that definitely came out of the other nine people's mouths in the room.
 "Thanks, Ken. No one knew that but you."
 "Oops, my bad." She had the grace to at least be embarrassed about the whole thing.
 "You mean you slept with that guy, the British one, tall, all muscular, extremely good looking. Damn it what's his name." You could see Eva wracking her brain for his name and you just didn't want to go there.
 "Hen…"
 "Yes, him," you admitted, stopping Jade before she could finish his name. "Can we please change the subject?"
 "Why, when we are all living vicariously through you," Kelsey added. "Especially poor Kennedy, who is now committed to spending the rest of her life with one man."
 "Geez, you make it sound like a death sentence. I love Ryan and I'm perfectly fine spending the rest of my days with him."
 You had to suppress an eye roll. Not because you didn't think that Ryan and Kennedy weren't in love. If you were being honest, you just thought they were rushing things a bit. The problem was telling your best friend that; you tried in the past and never succeeded. "We know you're in love Kenny." And then because you couldn't stop yourself, you added. "It's just are you sure you want to be tied down so young? We still have our whole life to live."
 "Jesus, (Y/N). We all know you're not ready for marriage and what comes with it, but we can't all be you with your fancy job in LA, meeting celebrities all the time. Some of us have real lives and want to settle down and have a family."
 "Kenny, that's not what I meant." The last thing you wanted to do was argue with her at her bachelorette party. "I only want you to be happy."
 "You have a funny way of showing it." The air in the room took on a chill and not from the air conditioning. If you didn't do something soon this party was going to go downhill.
 "Oh, would you look at the time," Jade chimed in. "We should probably be heading down to the pool." Everyone grabbed their stuff, Kennedy giving you the cold shoulder as you made your way out of the hotel suite. Jade came up and wrapped an arm around you. "She'll be fine. She's just on edge after the whole Gretchen thing. We'll give her a few shots and you two will be good as new."
 "I hope so." Unfortunately, things weren't fine. Kennedy seemed to avoid you and your attempt to make things right, even after a few shots. That didn't stop you from taking a few more. You had a strict one drink to one water rule, that you threw out the door today. Downing shots like it was your job. It was probably an hour later when you were in one of the private pools, with a few of the girls that a large group of very attractive men walked in. They were definitely different from Nate and the guys from Thunder, and at first, you thought it was some fraternity get together with how young some of them looked, but at second glance there were some gentlemen that were your age or older.
 "They've gotta be baseball players," Eva whispered over after they took up residence in the three bungalows next to you.
 "Nah, none of them have a dad bod." Jade was right, they were too fit to be in the MLB. You'd been around enough major leaguers to know while some were incredibly in shape, some were not. That didn't seem to be the case with this group.
 "I'm gonna rule out NFL as well," you told the girls. "None of these guys look like they're an offensive guard. Those guys are huge." You noticed a few of them staring at the six of you that were in the smaller pool reserved only for the bungalows. Grabbing another shot, this had to be your fourth in just sixty minutes, you downed the drink really starting to feel its effects.
 "Looks like we may just find out here," Jade said, nodding to let you know some of the guys were headed your way.
 "Ladies, care if we join you?" One of the men asked, you had to admit he was extremely handsome but also gave off an air that he had more than a few notches in his bedpost.
 A couple of the girls nodded, but when no one said anything, you found yourself saying, "Come on in."
 "So, what brings you to Vegas?" This from a different guy, who had quite a number of tattoos covering his arms, and you had to admit that the ink just made him more attractive, that and his height. He was well over six feet tall and you didn't mind looking up to see his face as he took the seat next to you.
 "Bachelorette party," Jade blurted out and you saw a few eyebrows raise.
 "Tell me you're not the bride?" His breath was warm or maybe it was the sun, either way, you definitely felt a warmth in your belly that wasn't there moments ago.
 "I am definitely not the bride." Shit that sounded desperate. "Though I am the maid of honor, at least I hope I still am." You looked inside the bungalow to see Kennedy in deep conversation with Gretchen.
 "Hmm, sounds like there's a story there. Care to tell me? I'm Jacob by the way, though the guys call me Marky."
 He held out his hand, the one that didn't have a beer in it, and you took it. "(Y/N), and I'll tell you though it's rather dull, on one condition." He quirked a brow at you. "You tell me what sport you play."
 He chuckled. "What makes you think I play a sport? Maybe I'm an investment banker."
 "Well, first there's your accent, though I suppose you could pull off investment banker with that. Second, you are all…how shall I say this…physically fit. A quality most athletes have and considering the number of you; I doubt this is some kind of investment banker convention."
 "Ok, I'll give you that, though we could be bodybuilders or…" the lights on the billboard on the strip changed to a Thunder From Down Under ad and you saw a light bulb in his head go off. "Or male strippers." Shit, you almost spit your drink out on that one. "What, too much a stretch? Maybe it's your lucky day." He started to sway his hips in the pool, one of his friends joining him while you and Jade tried to contain your laughter.
 "Nah, it's already been (Y/N)'s lucky day with them. She knows them all rather intimately."
 "Jade!" you yelled at your friend, or ex-friend, though you weren't in a position to be losing anymore at the moment.
 "Oops." She at least had the decency to look embarrassed. Alcohol made everyone do some crazy things and Jade was no exception to the rule.
 "Intimately huh?" Jacob asked as you splashed water on Jade causing her to shriek and hide behind Jacob's friend who you learned was someone named Erik. "Have I lost the competition before it even starts?"
 "There's no competition."
 "So, you're single then?"
 "Yes, though you still haven't answered my question." As soon as Jacob heard you say yes, he slid a little closer to you.
 "What was that question again?" He said with laughter in his eyes and before you could get annoyed with him, though you doubted that would happen, he added. "I remember, just giving you a hard time. Anyhow, we play hockey."
 "Oh, nice. Like professional level? Or are there minors in that sport?" You really weren't one hundred percent sure. You'd taken in a game here and there but not really paid any particular attention to it.
 "We're in the NHL, playing for Vancouver. Just came out to do a little team bonding before the season starts. So, are we going to talk about this intimate encounter or why you think your maid of honor duties are getting revoked?"
 "I think I need another drink to talk about either of them."
 Jacob flagged down one of the personal waitresses for the area, requesting a couple of shots and drinks for you both, and you had to admit you liked the way he worked. "Now that that's taken care of…"
 You blew out a frustrated breath, more with yourself than anything else. "I said something stupid right before we came down here." He kept silent, his eyes totally focused on you and what you were saying. A refreshing change from some of the men you spoke to. "I just think she's rushing into things. They've only known each other a year and we are too young to get married. She's only twenty-five, we have our whole lives ahead of us. You know?" He simply nodded his agreement before you continued. "I want to see the world, go places, and do things before I'm strapped down to one man forever. Not to mention being tied down with kids. How can Kenny not want that too?"
 "I totally agree. I've gotten to see a lot with hockey but there's no way I want to be tied down just yet."
 "Exactly, you totally get me." Your drinks arrived then and Jacob took one shot and handed it to you before taking the other.
 "Well, I say we toast to being young and free with no commitments."
 "I'll drink to that." He clinked his glass to yours and the two of you downed the drinks. It seemed like the DJ noticed the change in your mood, as the music got louder and the energy seemed to kick up a notch. You got up and started to dance in the pool; the other girls joining in. It wasn't long before you felt Jacob behind you. His hips grinding into your backside, as his large hands encircled your waist.
 Drinks flowed freely the entire day, and if you were being honest, you couldn't remember a time you'd been that drunk before the sun had even set. You were laughing and dancing, and quite literally having the time of your life; your maid of honor duties completely forgotten at this point. Gretchen came up to you at some point and told you that she, Kennedy, and Kelsey were heading up and would catch up with the rest of you later. Everyone else was having too much fun with the Canucks to want to leave.
 A few more drinks and an hour later, the party was winding down. Most of your friends had headed up to their room to pass out, only a few stayed behind. Jacob had somehow maneuvered you into one of the bungalows that was empty. You shared a few kisses here and there out in the pool area, but now that you were out of view of prying eyes things were getting a bit more heated. Jacob's hands were on your ass, as his tongue was down your throat; not that yours wasn't doing the same thing to him. He moaned into your mouth, the sound going straight to your core. Your bikini bottom was no longer wet from the water of the pool, but the press of Jacob's cock against it.
 You both stumbled back, landing down on the large daybed in the bungalow, though somehow Jacob's reflexes softened your fall. His hands went straight to your breasts, kneading the flesh there. He was just about to untie the string of your bikini top when someone walked in. "Jesus, Marky! Take it upstairs would you!" You squinted trying to make out who it was but at this point not remembering anyone's name besides the man that was on top of you.
 "Oh, shit…thought I was in my room." It was funny, you thought the same thing. "Sorry, Jay."
 "His name is Jay? Like the letter?" you mumbled as Jacob helped you off the couch. "What comes after J?" Fuck you were drunk and when you were drunk you tended to ramble. You once actually talked to a damn parking meter because you thought it was a person, and you were pretty sure you could talk to one now if there was one around.
 "Doesn't matter, babe," Jacob said kissing your lips. "Wanna head up to my room?"
 You had to go up on your tiptoes to loop your arms around his neck. "Yes, I do." He planted a kiss on your lips then cupped your ass cheeks causing you to jump a bit.
 "Let's go," he finally said breaking the kiss. You had enough sense to grab your things and tell your friends not to worry that you'd catch up with them tomorrow. They all winked and nodded or at least that's what it looked like in your head because that's when things started to get hazy. You had vague recollections of making your way through the casino, stopping here and there. Part of you thought that the two of you even stopped to play roulette only so you could have another drink.
 You did remember tumbling through the door of Jacob's suite. His lips were on yours and neither of you were paying attention as he unlocked it. Thankfully his quick reflexes caught you; apparently, even when drunk, goalies couldn't lose some of those natural instincts.
 His hands, you remember them being everywhere on your body, and how incredible they made you feel. His calloused touch lit a fire inside you, that had nothing to do with the alcohol. He rid you of your white swim cover-up easily, flinging the garment across the room, and then his lips were all over your body. It was easy to recall the way he made you feel, as he softly bit down on your nipple through the fabric of your bikini. You'd craved this all afternoon. It had been a couple months since you'd been with a man and Jacob was everything you'd been waiting for.
 You ripped off his shirt. Your hands immediately going to his chest and roaming down his tattooed arms. He was all muscle, hard and lean everywhere, but when you slid your hand down inside his swim trunks to his cock; oh, it was hard all right, but lean was not a word you'd used to describe it. You were barely able to wrap your fingers around his girth, and as you stroked him, you realized God had not only blessed him with height but length as well. The man was made to star in a porno, you thought as you shoved his trunks down.
 Somehow, during that time Jacob had managed to get your bikini top off, though you supposed with its simple string ties it wasn't a hard feat to manage. You dropped to your knees, licking your lips before taking your tongue and swirling it around the head of Jacob's cock. "Det kanns sa bra min vackra prinsessa (that feels so good my beautiful princess)." Jacob's mumblings had you pulling back and looking up at him. "Don't stop, baby." This time you knew what he said as you slowly sucked him into your mouth. There was no way that you could take him all in, so you pumped the rest of him with your fist. You hollowed out your cheeks as you sucked him inside, using every trick in the book you knew. Jacob muttered more in Swedish to you, things you had no clue as to what they meant, but judging by his reaction they were things he was enjoying very much. He threaded his hands through your hair, pulling it back so you could look up at him with big doe eyes. "Jesus," he swore, his hips bucking into your mouth at the sight of you with his cock in it, looking like that. After a few more thrusts, he pulled out shouting," Tillrackligt, enough. I think you're trying to kill me, princess."
 There was something about the way he called you princess. It wasn't anything you'd been called before and most times you'd preferred babe or baby, but the way the word rolled off his tongue did things to your insides.
 Jacob helped you off the ground, his lips ghosting over yours before picking you up and tossing you onto the bed. His large form handled you easily, arranging your body just the way he wanted to before slipping off your bikini bottoms. His large hands worked their way from your ankles to your calves, all the way up to your thighs; spreading your legs as he went. "So beautiful." He traced his fingers lightly over your pussy lips and you quivered in anticipation of what was to come. One long finger slid between your folds all the way up to your clit, once, then twice, and then once again. "So wet, prinsessa, and all because of me."
 "Mmm, yes, Jacob." He dipped that same finger inside you then. The digit slipping in easily and so he added another. Then his mouth was there. Tongue flicking over your clit in a way that made you squirm with pleasure. "Oh yes," you moaned, caught up in the pleasure that was coursing through your veins. "Just like that." Your hips lifted up on their own accord, seeking more of what this giant of a man was doing to you. Jacob never let up, making a come-hither motion with his fingers and you found yourself unraveling around him; legs shaking, breath panting as your orgasm overtook you.
 “So pretty when you cum, prinsessa.” He pulled his fingers from your pussy then brought them to your lips. You opened without any thought, licking your juices off of them. Before you could get them clean, Jacob’s mouth joined yours, kissing you while you sucked on his index and middle fingers. Your tongues mingled together, as Jacob positioned himself between your thighs. The head of his cock nudged between your folds and you sighed into his mouth at just that first touch. Slowly, he filled your pussy, until he bottomed out. Only then did he release your lips. “Fuck you feel so good.”
 Jacob loved the feel of you clenching around him. It felt like he was in heaven. Part of him didn’t even want to move that’s how good your body felt, but then you shifted your hips up just a hair bit and he had to suck in a breath at the pleasure that went straight to his groin for fear he would spend inside you right then and there. He willed his body under control and only then started to move.
 With every snap of Jacob’s hips, a wave of pleasure crashed over you. Your nails raked down his back, probably leaving marks, but it seemed to only spur him on. “Yes, Prinsessa,” he moaned out, as you bent your knees allowing him to go deeper. You moaned as he hit that treasured spot that had you seeing stars. “You like that?” Another moan was his answer, as he continued to fuck you.
 That peculiar feeling started to wash over you. Your pussy fluttering around Jacob’s cock as the orgasm finally broke. Back arching, legs trembling, you were moaning out his name as the climax seemed to continue, as Jacob drove wildly into you. As you came down off your high, Jacob found his. With a few erratic thrusts, he was spending deep inside you with a loud groan. He slumped forward, his sweety forehead resting on yours. “Det dar var otroligt.” You looked at him curiously, your brain not working at all but also knowing he was speaking something in Swedish to you. He smiled, a glorious one that you found yourself getting lost in and you found yourself returning it. “I said that was amazing.”
 “Yes, it was,” you breathed out. Jacob rolled you both onto your sides, tucking you into his. It wasn’t long before both of you were passing out.
 Now here you were, finally putting most of the pieces together from last night. You looked back over at the sleeping man, who had given you such pleasure even in your inebriated state. He really was gorgeous. You honestly wouldn’t mind going for round two, after a couple of Tylenol, of course. Speaking of which you needed to get up and see if you had any in your bag. If only you could move him without waking him. You carefully took your right arm and went to move his left which was slung across you, but then something caught your eye. There on his ring finger was a ring. Oh, it wasn’t just any ring, it was a wedding ring! You knew he didn’t have it on when you were in the pool. You were not the type of woman to go hitting on a married man, let alone sleep with him.
 You pulled your other arm out from underneath him, fully intending to grab your stuff and get the hell out of there when you noticed a bright and shiny diamond on your ring finger. There was also a matching wedding band. Then like a tsunami hitting the beach of a small island a memory came flooding back to you of the two of you entering the hotel chapel. This man wasn’t married to just anyone, he was married to you!

Soulmates
JJK X Reader soulmate AU
Warnings: Minor character death(car crash, only mentioned nothing graphic), Drinking
I don’t know if this is what you (the requester) were going for? this is somehow where I ended up
Everyone in this world has a soulmate. Someone that is meant to complete them and make them feel whole.
Your other half can be identified by the matching birthmark hidden somewhere on their body. There are also a lot of people whose marks are so close to matching that it almost feels like the real thing… almost. Sadly, many don’t ever get to experience the love of their true soulmate, so they settle for the closest they can get.
Jungkook was convinced he was one of the lucky few. Looking at her made his heart feel like it was going to burst. Every time he saw her the world got brighter, the birds started singing a little louder, and his stress nearly melted away entirely … nearly. But at 17 no one is going to pay attention to nearly.
Their birthmark’s matched so closely, each sporting a small puzzle piece on opposite wrists. You wouldn’t even bat an eyelid at the loved-up pair as they walked together hand in hand. And he loved her so completely, and her him, that they never thought to question it. Madly in love until the day she died.
Jungkook spent weeks almost comatose when the news of her car crash reached him. Couldn’t move, eat, sleep. To lose your soulmate so young was said to be a fate worse than never finding them at all. Even after coming through the other side people could tell he wasn’t the same carefree young boy he had been, most likely never would be again. His eyes’ looked far older than his years now, his soft features much more angular.
Three months after her death he resolve to never fall in love again, happy in the knowledge that he got to know her even for such a short amount of time.
….
You met Jungkook at a party. Someone from Uni decided that 24 was the right age for a big birthday bash. They hired out an entire club and set up a series of activities for people to enjoy. A mechanical ball on the main floor, a ball pit to the side, a BBQ in the smoking area, and a bouncy castle in the downstairs 90’s themed area. It really was an amazing event. You however spent most of your time watching the quiet Korean boy in the corner, every time his eyes met yours you felt compelled to move to him, talk to him, dance with him, anything that would get his attention on you. At the time you put it down to the alcohol. It took you exactly 3 and a half drinks to pick up the courage and interrupt his current conversation.
He was very sweet, really sweet considering he clearly didn’t want to be talking to you. It was evident in the way his eyes shifted and the nervous playing with his sleeves, still you persevered. Something about him wouldn’t let you give up, not yet at least. Your saving grace came when your favourite band came blaring over the speakers. “PRETTYMUCH” aren’t an underrated band per say but it’s difficult to find someone who knows them in your circle, so when Jungkook’s face lit up at the same time as yours you knew you had your in. So with the Phases remix blaring through the club you took your opportunity.
“I love this song!” You took his hand and pulled him on to the dance floor before you really realised that’s what you are doing. To start with he was frozen, a little shocked by your boldness, but as you gave it your all he joined in, loosening up for the first time that entire night. After that it was a lot easier to talk to him, you actually went into the smoking area to talk more about shared music interests.
After you went to get a drink you got caught up with some others and he came to find you. It felt like an electric shock when he’d grabbed your hand to get your attention, but there were a lot of balloons around so that would explain the residual electricity. By the time the party was over, and the club was closing, you didn’t want to leave him, not just now but ever. You found yourselves wandering around aimlessly, talking about nothing until the sun came up. Looking back it was then you decided Jungkook was it for you. You had never really believed in the soulmate tradition until you met him.
Weeks go by of you texting back and forth. You found out the reason he was so into music was because he was a musician himself, he even promised to perform for you sometime. A lot of promises were made in those messages.
‘There’s this amazing Restaurant in the city’ you claimed promising to take him with you next time.
‘I really want to see this movie’ he said promising to pay for tickets when it came out.
‘We should go see this band together’ The number one promise between the two of you, quickly racking up a lot of different acts to see together.
So when one of those bands turned up on the roster for the local you’d bought tickets immediately sending him the confirmation. Your stomach had fluttered thinking about seeing him in person again. And so you counted down the days as they passed. Picked and repicked your outfit. Talked yourself in and out of going. Eventually the day arrived. The doorbell signalling his arrival was deafening, ringing out through your small studio apartment. You took a few deep breaths before opening the door.
He was flawless, your tipsy memory hadn’t done him justice. A broad chest draped in a white long sleeve tee, ripped skinnies straining against his thighs, his hair swept into a James Dean quiff. You might’ve laughed at the way your outfits had accidently matched (a black crop with white skinnies) had you been capable of making a noise.
“Ready to go?” He asked nervously, rubbing the back of his neck. You’d nodded, blushing when you realised you had been staring.
It was a short bus ride into the town centre. Spent in relatively comfortable silence arms brushing against one another in the limited space on the crowded vehicle. The club was packed wall to wall when you got inside, no hope of getting to the front of the crowd, or so you’d thought. Jungkook grabbed your hand winked at you and began heading in the opposite direction of the stage. He led you up some back stairs and on to a balcony you hadn’t ever noticed before.
“I’ve played here before, almost no one knows this is here, but it will give us the perfect view.” He dropped your hand in favour of leaning over the railing. You couldn’t help but feel cold at the loss. The performance was great, you found yourselves screaming lyrics back and forth at one another. Some people had cottoned on to your little hiding spot and soon it became as packed as the rest of the club. Whether he was trying to protect you from the others or he was pushed there you will never know, but Jungkook ended up caging you to the railing, head resting on your shoulder.
After the show you’d decided it was time to ask him how he felt. The club was still busy, but the two of you had been in a quiet corner on your own nursing drinks and chatting aimlessly.
“Do you believe in soulmates?” You asked, broaching the topic carefully. You watched closely for his reaction, but he gave nothing away. Instead he just shrugged.
“I did once.” It was too blunt, you knew you should’ve stopped but you couldn’t, now you’d decided to tell him it was like verbal diarrhoea.
“I didn’t think I did, I mean I’ve never seen any ‘matching birthmarks’ and every couple I know is perfectly happy… but then I met you and I keep thinking about it, and you, and how I feel about you.” You watched as his face goes from pensive to a deer caught in the headlights.
“I… I have to leave now.” He got up and ran into the crowd before you even had a chance to reach for him. He dipped through a back entrance of the club and into the night before you could even push through the first layer of people.
The ride home had seemed a lot longer. Holding back tears had proved extremely difficult. Of all the reactions he could’ve given you that might’ve been the worst one. Somehow you found yourself thinking even him laughing in your face might’ve been better. You left the lights in your studio switched off that night. Made a beeline for your bed and passed out face down.
It would’ve felt like a bad dream when you woke up… if it hadn’t been for the crusty mascara tracking down your cheeks. You’d picked up your phone from where it lay abandoned next to you. Battery on 12%. You’d decided then it’d be best to run damage control, at least save the friendship.
Y/N: I’m sorry about last night…
You hadn’t expected his reply to be quick, so it’d surprised you when the typing bubbles appeared immediately; and furthered your sadness when they disappeared moments later without a message.
For days you spiralled. Going over the moment again and again in your head. Each replay turning the memory into something worse than the original.
Eventually you plucked yourself out of bed, deciding to face the problem head on and talk to the friend that invited you both to their birthday in the first place.
She met you at a café downtown during her lunch break. It was obvious by your red rimed eyes and sniffling nose that you had been crying but she was nice enough to ignore it for the most part. You caught up on her life for a little while until you physically couldn’t hold back anymore.
You told her exactly what had happened between you and JK, watching as her expression got both more understanding and pitying as you got closer to the end. Whatever you thought she was going to tell you was no where close to the story you got. You sat mouth wide open as she told you about the accident, and the way it affected Jungkook. It made you want to cry all over again. You didn’t know what to say once she had finished, stewing in your own thoughts for a while. The main thought that kept coming to the front of your mind was one that made you feel so evil. But you had to get it out
“What if she wasn’t really his soulmate. What if he was never meant for her” Its barely above a whisper but your friend heard it.
“He truly believes that she was” She replied squinting at you. Her break ended shortly after that leaving you alone with your thoughts.
It’s almost a month later when you see Jungkook again. Hadn’t heard a single thing from him since the concert but at least you knew why.
This time it was someone pool party. You honestly hadn’t been expecting to see him there. Didn’t even know you had mutual friends past that one girl. You didn’t think twice about your birthmark when you stripped down to your two piece. Why would you? Everyone has one. You were lay out on a sun-lounger with a drink when you spotted him. Tucked away in a corner once again, the only difference this time was his attention was already on you. He looked as good as ever, hair damp and slicked back, Long-sleeved neoprene shit covering his torso but trunks showing off his amazing thighs. You’d forced yourself to look away form him but could still feel the intensity of his gaze on you.
Eventually you couldn’t take it anymore, too hot under the sun and his stare you decided to change out of your swimsuit into a sundress for the evening. Heading inside you found your way into someone’s bedroom to get changed. Perhaps you should’ve checked to see if the door the locked though, because just as you had wiggled out of the bikini top Jungkook burst into the room.
“Ah shit… Sorry… I um.” His hand had flown in front of his eyes as he’d slammed the door shut behind him and you’d immediately reached for the flimsy dress pulling it over you torso so he could reopen his eyes.
“What in the actual fuck Jungkook?” you whisper screamed not wanting to draw attention to the two of you hidden away.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to, I didn’t think… I just needed to see…”
“See what?! My boobs? I think you managed that one perv. You haven’t spoken to me in weeks and now all of a sudden you can’t wait long enough to knock.” You came across a lot meaner than you had meant, you just hadn’t been prepared for him to want to speak to you again.
“No I’m sorry I’ll go, this was a bad idea, I was probably seeing things anyway.” He mumbled looking sheepishly at the floor/
“No wait it’s okay, I really want to apologise don’t leave.” You took a deep breath and waited for his eyes to meet yours properly. When they did you could see the shock behind them.
“Why do you need to apologise? I’m the one that ran off, I never even told you why and I fucked up and I’m sorry I just…” You reached for him then, wanting nothing more than to comfort him and then realised it wasn’t your place, arm dropping heavily back to your side. “I felt so guilty with you, not because of you, because of me.” You nodded in understanding.
“I found about your soulmate after I confessed to you. I’m so sorry I didn’t know. I never would’ve brought it up if I had known you had already found yours.” You’d broken eye contact with him then unable to watch the sadness in his eyes and not be able to do anything about it.
“That’s why I felt so guilty though because the way I feel about you is so similar to the way I felt about her, how I still feel about her deep down. I was so confused because you’re only supposed to get one soulmate, and if I could feel the same way about you in such a short time… it just feels like I’m betraying her by loving you.” He stepped forward reaching for your chin and forced you to meet his gaze. “The today when I saw your birthmark on your thigh I could’ve cried.” He uses his free hand to unzip the shirt he’d been wearing. He pulled his left arm from the sleeve exposing his birthmark to you. A puzzle piece to fit perfectly into your own.
You’d gasped at the revelation you were right. He was meant to be yours. And yet it didn’t feel right. The anguish on his face was clear, the internal fight he had obviously been having with himself ever since the concert.
“Letting yourself love me now doesn’t mean you loved her any less” you whispered, allowing yourself to move even closer to him, wrapping him in your arms. He’d nuzzled into your neck allowing tears to stream down his cheeks and onto your shoulder. You’d felt every bit of stress leave his body as he cried. Emotions he hadn’t even know he had been holding onto, finally letting himself really breath since he had lost her all those years ago.
You’d lost track of the time, just stood with him, holding him until the final few sniffles came. His cheeks had been puffy by and red when he pulled away, wiping his face on the sleeve still on his right arm.
“Do you want to leave? We can go back to mine” You’d asked carefully, not willing to let him go home alone after feeling like that. He’d nodded weakly, sliding his arm back into the shirt before taking your hand in his. You’d headed for the door only to be brought back by the hand he had on yours. He’d pulled you so close you could see the flecks of gold in his irises, watched your reaction before leaning in and kissing you. It was salty with left over tears, but you wouldn’t change you first kiss for the world. Everything felt like it clicked into place in that moment, the world tilted on its axis. The exchange was short lived, a chaste peck followed by a few smaller pecks before he let you lead him all the way home.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sloane leaned down to the table to take an extra line for her pre-performance nerves. She felt a little more nervous today, this particular concert being one of the largest yet. She was the front woman of The CAPs, who were opening for Led Zeppelin for their summer of ‘69 tour. This was exactly the break the band needed, finally getting recognition for all their talent and hard work over the last two years.
She applied a little powder to her face, and patted on her classic red lipstick to her slightly chapped lips. Securing the clasps of her platform red heels, she shook her body in hopes of shaking away her anxious jitters. Once she had finished her body-shaking ritual, she walked out from the wings of the stage.
As she walked across to centre stage, wind blowing through the holes of her white crochet dress. The crowd cheered loudly as the band waved to them.
“How’s everyone doin’ today? It’s so hot today, my boobs are sweating off!” She greeted the crowd with her bubbly nature. Adjusting the mic stand to her height, she continued to address the huge crowd. “Today’s set list will have a slight adjustment to it, we’re starting off with a new song I wrote just last night. It’s a little softer than our other music, so just sit back- or should I say lean back on the person behind you - and relax. This is called ‘Linger’ "
While she was speaking to the crowd, a teenage roadie ran onto the stage and placed a stool, for Sloane to sit on, and disappeared again in a heartbeat. The crowd, didn’t even take notice of the young boy, entranced with the tawny blonde singer as usual.
Sloane sat down, crossed her legs and nodded toward Rory, to begin. Rory started picking a simple guitar melody on his trusty Gibson acoustic, the first guitar he ever picked up. Sloane swayed lightly to the rhythm, eyes on the horizon above the crowd. Soon after, Marshall joined in with quiet, but strong beat on drums. At the same time, Oscar added the baseline to the song.
Taking a deep breath, Sloane began the song.
If you, If you could return, Don’t let it burn, Don’t let it fade, I’m sure I’m not being rude, It’s just your attitude, It’s tearing me apart, It’s ruining every day
I swore, I swore I would be true, But honey so did you, So why were you holding her hand? Is that the way we stand? We’re you lying all the time? Was it just a game to you?
Sloane sang gently, her eyes closed with a pained look on her face. She thought back to the day before, when everything fell apart.
———
“Sloane, honey, please tell me what’s wrong! You’re being so closed off with me today!” Robert pleaded, grabbing her hand while she was walking away. Sloane yanked her hand away and walked towards an empty storeroom in the hotel corridor.
“Don’t get any ideas, we need to talk privately” Sloane commanded as she entered into the storeroom. It had barely enough space for both of them to fit, being crammed full with towels and bedsheets.
“Please, love, jus’ tell me what’s bothering you, I wanna make you happy”
“Oh fuck off Robert, you’re so fake and a liar. These past couple of months have all been a lie!”
“What’re talkin’ about? I have never lied to you once”
“Seriously? ‘I’ve never lied to you’? Are you actually for real right now? Do you know what I just found out Robert? You’re fucking married! And she’s coming here tonight! You didn’t think I would deserve to know that!” She yelled, ignoring her previous statement about keeping this private.
“I didn’t tell you because I was scared okay? I have never felt like this before with anyone else. All the groupies were just for sex, but when I met you I had fallen for you Slo, you make me a better person in every way”
“I don’t care how I make you feel, you’re still married! With kids! How would they feel if they found out their father was in a relationship with a woman other than their mother? I can’t believe you did this to me willingly, even after I told you what happened with my parents. That messed me up, seeing my father with another woman, and leaving my mother for her. Never seeing him again, choosing his new family over me and my siblings. That hurts me the most Robert, you knew my history and you ignored it!” Sloane cried out, tears falling freely on her face, running her dark eye makeup.
“I never meant to hurt you love, you mean so much to me. I just didn’t think- I never fuckin think, but I my feelings were so strong for you, I never thought about Maureen, I’m shamed to admit it” Robert plead, guilt weighing on his conscience. He reached out to wipe her tears away, but Sloane turned her head, the same pained look on her face.
“We’re done. I can’t stay with someone who could forget about their own wife and kids, and forget to tell their girlfriend that she’s actually a mistress. Goodbye” Sloane said, pushing her way out of the cramped closet, before running to the elevator at the end of the hall.
———
But I’m in so deep, You know I’m such a fool for you, You got me wrapped around your finger, Do you have to let it linger? Do you have to? Do you have to let it linger?
Sloane sang emotionally, a single tear escaped her tear duct. She took the break for guitar solo to take a couple deep breathes, and to calm her heightened emotions down.
Oh, I thought the world of you, I thought nothing could go wrong, But I was wrong, I was wrong
If you, if you could get by, Trying not to lie, Things wouldn’t be so confused, And I wouldn’t feel so used, But you always knew, I just want to be with you
———
Sloane sat at the large round table, sipping her wine. The two bands had just completed all the concerts in France, and were having a celebratory dinner for the night. The lights were dim in the fancy restaurant, but Sloane could still see the heartbreaking sight of Maureen and Robert cozying up to eachother. She longed to be the one Robert was dedicated to, to be his Maureen, to be the one who sipped on his beer instead of her wine for a change, to rest her hand on his knee. She wished to be the one who would sleep with him in bed each night, without a worry of cheating or unfaithfulness. Her heart was also broken for Maureen, she was so inlove with Robert, as was he with her. She was also probably the greatest mother out there, being a single parent for a lot of the year.
Sloane switched her focus from the smitten couple, to Marshall and John Bonham's discussion on gongs, congas and all exotic drums.
Everything had been going so well, the concerts each night going to wonderfully, the bands got on great together. Even all the touring crew and management got on well with eachother. It was like one, big, slightly dysfunctional family.
Sloane wished she could vent to one of her bandmates about her case of ill fated love, but she knew if she told any of the CAP boys, tension would arise between the bands, and she simply couldn't bear to break the harmony.
“I’m sorry everyone, but I feel a bit ill and I think it would be best if I went to my room” Sloane announced, rising from her chair. She briefly locked eyes with Robert, before averting her eyes that threatened to fill with tears.
“Are you sure you’re okay Slo? I can come up and look after you if you feel faint or anything?” Rory asked genuinely, concerned for his little sister, he noticed she had been a little less bubbly than normal today.
“I’m fine Ror, I’ll think being on the go and travelling for the last couple of months has caught up with me. I’ll call you if I need you. Love you” she said, hugging him tightly.
“Love you, stay safe sis”
A chorus of goodbyes were heard as she left the table and walked out of the brassiere restaurant.
As soon as she entered her large room, she decided to clean up her stuff in order to distract herself. She folded all her clothes, tucked all her shoes into her suitcase, and cleaned up her makeup station on the vanity, placing the assortment of beauty products in the black makeup bag she owned.
After she was done cleaning, she ordered a couple bottles of wine, with some croissant from room service, taking advantage of the readily available French delicacies.
Lowering herself into the warm bubble bath she ran while waiting for her room service, her mind wandered to the whole situation, creating lyrics in her head. Luckily she brought her songbook, so there was no need to get out of the bath in search for it. She poured her heart out into the lyrics. After finishing the lyrics up, she soaked for a little longer, until she felt herself pruning and wrapped the fuzzy bath robe around herself.
She was about to turn off her bedside light to sleep, when she heard a light knock on the door. Her head scrambled, trying to figuring out who it was. Must be Rory checking up on me she thought. Opening the door, her heart skipped a beat at the visitor.
“Sloane let me-“
“Robert, please, I told you we were over”
“Will you let me speak, I need to talk to you”
Sloane stepped aside from the door, letting him in. She guided him to the seating area of the room, not wanting to risk being near the bed.
“Uh, d’want tea or something?” Sloane asked the blonde man, the air heavy with awkward tension.
“Yeah sure, love. That’d be great” Robert answered warmly.
“So, what do you want to say” Sloane asked, pushing his tea on front of him.
“Sloane, I’m sorry. I still do love you and I hate that I fucked everything up. I was just so infatuated- I still am, and I regret that I made you feel upset. I just want to say sorry”
“I- I still love you too Robert, it wasn’t just one sided, I really thought you were the one”
“Sloane, I don’t know what to say… If- if you ask me to, I will. I want you. I want to be yours.”
“Robert- I. I can’t do that. As much as I want to love you and be with you, I can’t be a homewrecker. I’ve seen the way you are with Maureen, you love her. I know in my gut that you’re better off with her. She loves you and deserves you 100%” Sloane’s face was wet with tears.
“Uh, okay. I’m sorry love, I really wish I didn’t fuck up our relationship. I really hope that one day we can be friends again, when you’re ready” Robert got up to leave, but was stopped when Sloane grabbed his hand.
“There’s a part of me that will always love you Robert. This was wonderful while it lasted” She spoke with a sad smile on her face.
Robert squeezed her hand in agreement, before exiting the room.
———
And I’m in so deep, You know I’m such a fool for you You got me wrapped around your finger, oh, Do you have to let it linger? Do you have to? Do you have to let it linger?
Oh I’m in so deep, You know I still have love for you, My love has wrapped me round your finger, oh, Do you have to let it linger? Do you have? Do you have to let it linger?
The CAPs finished their song, and Sloane stood up to thank the crowd.
“Robert, darling, there you are. Was that singer at the dinner last night?” Maureen asked warmly to her husband, joining him in the wings.
“Uh, yeah, but she left early because of travel sickness y’know the sort” Robert answered absentmindedly, his deep blue eyes trained on the lead singer, who was preparing for the next song in the band’s set list.
“I must have missed her. She’s gorgeous, isn’t she? I love that song she just sang, great voice” Maureen mused, admiring Sloane’s confidence , akin to her husbands.
“Yeah, yeah she is. She’s a beautiful person, inside and out”
S3 Aggretsuko and the risks of making your Hobby a Job
Okay so I just watched Aggretsuko season 3 and everyone in the tag is talking about how she “threw away her dream” in the end by quitting her idol job when... that’s not how I see it at all???
Death metal isn’t her dream, it’s her escape. She sings to express her frustrations with the world, and to help her get through the torture of her everyday life. When she was forcefully turned into an idol, it wasn’t HERS anymore. Her lyrics were unintelligible, her meaning was lost, and she started to see the idol persona as the mask she must put on to please others and the source of her pain instead of her escape from it. True, she ended up starting to embrace it life on the stage, but only because she loved inspiring others. And even then, being an idol was her FRIEND’S dream. Whenever her friend talked about the joys of being an idol, Retsuko just passively agreed, and eventually convinced herself that maybe this IS what she’s meant to do with her life.
But it’s not. And she knows it. The crazed stalker fan might have been the one who pushed her to quit, but in her mind... he was just reinforcing what she thought to be basic truths about her situation. She’s a fake, her words are empty, she’s just doing what is expected of her instead of being her genuine self.
And even though it’s a muddled message, I think one of the things this season was trying to say is that you shouldn’t have to capitalize on everything you do. She started publishing anonymous videos on the internet, but she was doing it for ad revenue - just a little side gig to help her get by, but she never meant for her passion to be exposed and exploited to this level. She wanted to be ANONYMOUS. She never wanted her face to be seen. From the beginning, she published her videos in a death metal face mask, and wanted to preform with her face in a burlap bag (which is a BADASS LOOK, AND SUITS THE THEMES OF THE MUSIC SO FUCKIN WELL, WHY DID HE TAKE THAT AWAY FROM HER, SHE COULD HAVE BEEN DAFT PUNK BUT BABY METAL). She never wanted to be seen, to be known, to be forced into the spotlight the way she was. She just wanted to get by, but in order to do so, she had to sacrifice something integral to who she was. She had to make her passion her WORK. PUBLICLY. Which took away her one escape. It made her favorite hobby into her worst prison.
The thing is, it’s... it’s okay to have hobbies. You don’t have to profit off of everything you do. And like, I get it! It feels good to be recognized for your passions! I should know, I’m a Motion Designer, I turned my love of art, design, and animation into my freaking career! But I still have other hobbies. I can’t keep a tune to save my life, but I love to sing. I stopped taking ballet classes after middle school, but I still love to dance. I decided to stop auditioning for roles in chorus and theatre, but I still love to preform! I still dance, sing, and make silly voices for all the comics I read, but mostly in my bedroom while my little sister rolls her eyes at me. I purposefully try not to capitalize on those hobbies, because if I tried to turn every single little thing I do into a marketable skill or profession, I would drive myself INSANE.
And she.... she LIKES being an accountant. She LIKES managing money, making things work financially, and she’s really really good at it!!! This season showed that off real well, and she was at her happiest this season when she was able to use those skills to make the idol group financially successful!!! When she was a BOSS, and making herself an irreplaceable asset to this new buisiness she basically built from the ground up. It all spiraled out of her control when her boss found out about her hobby, and started making huge rebranding decisions around that discovery WITHOUT HER PERMISSION.
In the end, she withdrew herself from everything. All her friends, all her skills and all her passions, everything she used to take pride in. For WEEKS.
I don’t approve of how aggressively her friends abducted her, and I wish they had cut to the chase a little bit earlier in the season so that her recovery could have had a full episode, but her friends were right to bring her back to the karaoke bar. And I think this was important for more than one reason - Haida wasn’t just raging at her, he was SHOWING her his hobby. He isn’t actually good at it! He kinda sucks at the death metal voice, and his voice gave out halfway through, and he was grasping at straws for the lyrics, but he was having FUN, being HIMSELF, and letting himself be FREE. Same way as his music. He used to be in a band, but he eventually let it slide into a hobby. Something he does for himself, in his free time. And he was really trying to goad her into joining him. He had a lot to say to her, and yes, he was a little mean, he did call her a coward, but he was being open and honest and raw. And eventually, it broke the dam, and she SANG RIGHT BACK. SHE WAS SCREAMING, not just at him, but at the WORLD, crying out for what it had stolen from her, desperate for the freedom of expression, of herself. She was pushing him away, but she was doing something she hadn’t let herself do in a long, LONG time. She wasn’t singing for a crowd, or for money. She was singing for herself.
And Haida understands. He wants to join her. He could hear her, and understand the lyrics of her song, the words she was screaming out with crystal clarity. And he responded to her lyrics, in a way nobody else could.
“Then let’s punch the world back.”
After that, she gave one last performance for the public, regained control of her life, and then returned to her new normal. A normal where she can be anything she wants to be. Where she decides to be an accountant, because as much as she rages about her job, it’s still HER job. And she lets herself lean on her friends a little bit more. Lets herself eat with her friends, instead of separate from them as she had been doing all season. And - there’s the implication in one of her last lines, that she’s still a music producer. Not a professional performer anymore, but a producer. She didn’t give up her side hustle entirely, she just went back to the parts of it she has control over, the parts she actually ENJOYED. And I, for one, am really proud of her!
The Unsolved Murder of Henry “Brute” Hanlon and the Box Boy Killer
I’m back, r/LetsTalkTrueCrime! I really appreciated the questions and discussion under my last write-up, and a few of you really encouraged me to keep working to provide a part two to my Serial Killer Box Boy series, so here it is!
In Part One, we looked at the mysterious death of Nathaniel “Nanda” Benson, who died of cardiac arrest due to an undiagnosed heart defect (and likely head trauma played a part) and was found at the bottom of the stairs inside his California home. The only valuable possession missing from his property was his legally-purchased Box Boy, who fled the city wearing Nathaniel Benson’s shoes and using his money to buy a bus and then train ticket.
The last confirmed sighting of the runaway Box Boy (and Benson’s possible killer?) was in Red Hills, California, a large-ish city a couple hours south of Benson’s house by train.
Questions remain around Benson’s death: did he suffer cardiac arrest and fall down the stairs? Did the Box Boy push him, with the shock of the trauma and injury leading to the heart attack that killed him?
Is the Box Boy merely a witness to a tragic but natural death, or the prime murder suspect?
And most importantly: If he wasn’t guilty, why did he run?
Less than a full calendar year after Benson’s death, the question of where the Boxie went after Benson died was answered… but even that answer only opened up more questions, and the sudden death of a second man places even more uncertainty into the story of a Boxie who might simply be an innocent victim - or who could be a serial killer whose makes a victim out of those who give him shelter.
Which leads us to the story of Henry James Hanlon, known to nearly everyone - including his wife - as “Brute”.
Henry Hanlon was born in a small town in Texas, but moved to Red Hills, California after finishing a stint in the Air Force.
His parents, James Hanlon and Estella Hanlon, maiden name Brickers, had had their first child, Henry’s older brother William “Bill”, right out of high school, born six months after their wedding day. Henry came three years later, and his sister Roberta “Bobbie” one year after that.
Henry was a perfectly normal, cheerful little boy, always toddling after his older brother and trying to join in the games of the older kids in town. His parents recalled him as the quintessential “middle child”, always resolving disputes and quietly getting things done. He received his nickname of “Brute” in fifth grade, when a classroom bully was harassing a female friend of Henry’s and Henry decided to take action. The only information I could really hunt down on this was some old school records that I found on a message board, and I can’t really verify if they’re real, but they suggest that the bully was sent home injured and Henry received a three-day suspension.
After that, it seems, anyone and everyone - even teachers - called Henry Hanlon “Brute”, and he never seemed to mind.
He received perfectly average grades, enlisted in the Air Force, served without distinction but without any significant incidents, and afterwards he moved out to California, where he settled into Red Hills (then a city with a thriving industrial district that was slowly beginning its slide into something rougher) and took a job with a manufacturing company, working in their warehouse.
“Brute” dated around a bit, but it wasn’t until three years after his move that he met the woman he would marry, Ellen Patricia Barry. She was a few years younger than him, and they met at a local bar that both were known to frequent. One of Brute’s former coworkers told police that Brute was big into pool and poker, both of which he would engage in when he went to the bar, and that he met Ellen during one of the poker nights, and that Brute stated that how easily she beat him was one of the reasons he was interested in her romantically.
Ellen claims they first spoke while playing pool, not poker, and also claims she’s never played poker in her life. Why Brute would have told his coworkers a different story is unclear.
They dated for about a year before they wed at Grace Baptist Church on a sunny summer day in 20XX. Ellen’s father gave her away while Brute’s little sister was the maid of honor. A year later, Brute’s daughter Elizabeth was born, and a couple years after that, their son Daniel.
The Hanlons lived a charmed life - they owned a cute three-bedroom cottage home (bought and given to them by Ellen’s parents as a wedding gift) in a good part of town with a little white fence around the property and a yard big enough for the children and dog to play in. Ellen was part of the local PTA and active in her church, and Brute himself had the appearance of a man totally content with everything he had.
But Brute Hanlon had a secret.
Ellen continued to believe he was employed by the manufacturing company, but he actually left his employment there years before his death. Instead, he seems to have transitioned into making his money “under the table”. Ellen wouldn’t discover any of this until after his body was located… in a secret house he’d never told her about, in one of the roughest parts of Red Hills.
Without her knowledge, Brute purchased a two-bedroom home with cash directly from its previous owner that was badly in need of repair in the Pauls Mill neighborhood. Once a “company town” from the 1930’s - 1950’s that was absorbed into Red Hills as it grew in the 60’s, Pauls Mill today is the kind of neighborhood where everyone knows if you belong there, or don’t, and it’s best if you belong.
Brute performed a few very cursory repairs to keep it livable, laid down some new carpet, and then used it as a kind of secret base for the unsavory activities he didn’t want Ellen or the children to know about.
While his family believed he was at work at the factory, Hanlon was in fact hosting poker games, selling illicit narcotics and unlicensed firearms, and generally making quite a bit more money than he had with legal employment entirely under-the-table. He would spend his day making connections (and money) through these activities, then go home right at 5 pm sharp to his loving family, eat dinner at 6 pm, help his kids with their homework and hear about their day, and settle in for an evening playing the loving husband and doting dad.
Somewhere during this time period, Brute told Ellen he was setting up a “poker night” with his friends again, now that the kids were school-aged.
What he did instead was drive down to the corner of Holt and McCormick streets, known to all locals as the Red Hills “red light district”, and pick up prostitutes, usually simply meeting with them in his car, but occasionally taking them to a nearby motel.
After his body was found, police showed his picture around to a variety of the individuals who make their living at Holt and McCormick, and more than a dozen locals immediately recognized him.
Some described him as a regular customer who wasn’t particularly special or notable beyond the simple fact that he never tried to renege on payment and could be relied on to always be looking for someone on a particular night of the week… but others, almost entirely male, said he could be violent. A few described being injured enough that they had to seek medical treatment after meeting him. The same individuals stated that he insisted on using dehumanizing and insulting language to speak to them during these encounters, and that he was often unable to perform unless he did so.
One individual, who gave his name as “Mix”, mentioned that the last few times Brute had engaged his services, he had brought along a collar and insisted Mix pretend to be a Box Boy.
During this time period, Brute continued to be an active, involved, and loving parent.
He was home right on time every night except “poker night”, attended his chlidrens’ recitals and baseball games on the weekends. He often took them to the Red Hills Zoo, local parks, and even did a weekend trip to Berras to see the Berras Aquarium, stay overnight in a hotel as a family, and then visit a redwoods park before returning home.
Six months before his death, Brute’s visits to the red light district abruptly stopped. Instead, he apparently met with a local prostitute, engaged his services, and took him home… for good.
The best record we have is that one woman, Needie Brandt, remembered seeing Brute leading a shorter, angular young man to his car one night, and described the young man as “one of those runaway Boxies, collar and all. Poor thing was half-starved”.
Runaways, especially Romantics, are picked up by police from time to time in Red Hills. Most Romantics don’t really know any other way to survive, so prostitution is a common way to make ends meet. Needie said the young man had been seen around the area for a couple of weeks, right alongside the rest of the working people in the red light district, and that after this one night she saw Brute Hanlon lead him into the car, she didn’t see him again.
Asked if she remembered a name, Needie only shrugged and said that even if she did, it wouldn’t be a real one. Which is probably a good point.
Somewhere in here, Brute began to date outside of his marriage while his family believed he was out with friends playing poker. He took dancing lessons with one Susan Krieger, had a serious relationship with a Lucy Graham, and was apparently occasionally taking a Natalie Dorn out for dinner.
Ellen was never informed about these out-of-wedlock interests.
Brute’s family knew nothing. When his eldest son went to state with marching band his freshman year of high school, Brute Hanlon was right there cheering him on.
Then, just two days later, he presumably went right back to brutalizing the Box Boy he was keeping in his secret second home.
We don’t have a record of what exactly transpired within the house after Brute took the runaway Box Boy in. What we do know is what the police found later on.
On October 18th, 20XX, around midnight, Ellen Hanlon called police to report her husband missing after he did not return from his regular poker night. His car was located in the parking lot of an abandoned FoodMart, but a friend of Brute’s came forward to say he often parked there and carpooled with friends when going out.
None of Brute’s possessions were inside, and it didn’t appear the car had been touched by anyone but Brute himself when it was dusted for fingerprints or signs of DNA. Brute’s friends who knew about his secret activities weren’t telling, and Ellen and the children didn’t know anything about their seemingly loving husband and father’s double-life.
At first, the trail seemed like it would go cold, and investigators were frustrated that they had so little to go on.
Then, on October 29th, 20XX, Brute’s neighbor (who apparently asked that his name not be given) called the police department complaining about how the small two-bedroom house next door had begun to smell “like something died in there”, and that he hadn’t seen his neighbor leave or return in days, which was very unusual.
When police arrived, the front door was unlocked. Officer William Keys, the first one inside, later described the smell as “unmistakable. I knew exactly what we’d find the second we walked in that door.”
He was right.
What they found was the bloodied and decomposing body of Henry “Brute” Hanlon, lying on his back in the middle of a small unremarkable living room, on a dirty and stained carpet. He had been viciously stabbed more than fifty times. One even went so far into Brute that there was an exit wound through his back. Medical examiners would later state that at least seven of his wounds would have been directly fatal, but that he had died within the first few and most of the wounds were technically post-mortem.
The murder had been committed by someone who had a very personal reason for the killing. Investigators believe this individual was “absolutely enraged”.
Next to his body was the murder weapon, along with a set of buckles and strips of leather that mystified the officers. These were eventually identified as modified leg braces, but rather than straightening bent or injured legs, they forced the wearer to keep their legs at nearly right angles, which would ensure they had to crawl rather than walk. They appeared to be homemade.
Bloodied smears and footprints led the officers down a hallway and to the bathroom, where there was evidence someone had showered, changed clothes, and then left.
The same neighbor who informed police about the smell also remembered seeing, on October 16th or 17th (later determined that it was likely the 17th, the day that Brute did not return home from “work”), a young man wearing an oversized coat, sweatpants, and a too-large t-shirt walk out of Hanlon’s house and down the street. The young man was on the short side, the neighbor said, had an angular face, and a visible scar at the corner of his mouth and another along the side of his face. He had the collar of the coat flipped up, and the neighbor doesn’t recall if he wore a collar or not.
He had dark eyes, and short but shaggy dark hair that seemed to have been cut hurriedly and unevenly, and he waved at Hanlon’s neighbor without pausing or speaking as he walked past.
Tests on fingerprints and DNA located within Brute Hanlon’s secret second home would reveal that the Box Boy who once ran from Nathaniel Benson after his death was the exact same one who ran from Brute Hanlon after murdering him. The Boxie’s fingerprints were all over the murder weapon… and everywhere else, too.
Within Brute’s home, more knives were found, along with what looked like a badly-crafted homemade whip and some other supplies. A few of the things investigators found appeared to be essentially identical to what was found in Nathaniel Benson’s home. Other things were different (“animalization” was mentioned in some of the reports, but what I’ve been able to find is seriously vague for some reason).
Possibly related, a series of dog leashes purchased from a local pet-supply store were found throughout the home, but there was no evidence of an actual dog. In the home’s main bedroom was a perfectly normal queen-sized bed that was clearly Brute’s, with a small side table, a large dresser, and an attached bathroom.
There was absolutely nothing outwardly out of the ordinary, besides the room being very plain and impersonal. Makes sense, since Brute almost never slept there.
In the second bedroom, however, there was army-style cot with a thin blanket and sheet, three folded shirts on the floor, two sets of bloody metal handcuffs hanging off the cot’s frame at the top and bottom, and a bucket next to the bed. Two metal bowls, clearly of a style meant to be a dog’s food and water bowls, were next to the door. One still had water in it. The window was painted and nailed shut, and bars had been installed over the windows.
Investigators determined the bars were on the house when Brute Hanlon purchased it and had been installed by the previous owner. No reason for that installation was ever given.
Investigation revealed trace amounts of evidence of blood, but nothing much. However, the living room and dining area both showed poorly-cleaned bloodstains that were much older than Hanlon’s murder, including discolored patches on the walls.
A contract for a 24/7 “master/slave” style relationship was found in the top drawer of the dresser, signed ‘Pet’ at the bottom, and with Brute’s name alongside it. However, both signatures match Hanlon’s handwriting, and the Boxie is not believed to have actively signed it, as he would be illiterate at best. Plus, Box Boys are not legally allowed to enter into any contract, anyway, since they can’t understand obligations at that level, so even if he had signed it, it wouldn’t have been considered remotely valid.
I mean, not that those contracts are legal, but... you get my point.
Also located in that drawer were more than one hundred photographs showing the Boxie in a variety of compromising situations and positions. Several of these photos had Brute himself clearly visible in them, and a few had other individuals who have since been identified as Brute’s associates in his more illicit activities.
Interrogations of those associates led to more than seven further arrests for illegal gambling, the production and sale of illicit drugs, and illegal weapons sales. Those interrogations are also how we know about what Brute Hanlon was up to in-between Little League games and Girl Scout meetings.
Those associates claim that Brute kept a “secondhand Box Boy”, muzzled him so he couldn’t speak whenever guests were over, and that often ‘poker night’ simply turned into a game where the assorted guests and Brute himself repeatedly assaulted the Boxie. The associates claimed they thought the entire thing was consensual, but frankly… given the overwhelming evidence that the Boxie had to be kept restrained and was often seriously injured by these assaults... that’s doubtful.
Ellen and her children, who had previously been very visible and spoke often to local news stations about Henry’s disappearance, withdrew after his body was found and his second, secret life revealed - and have never given a single public statement or made a public appearance since.
Ellen moved her children out of Red Hills, moving back in with her own parents, briefly, in northern California. Where they went after that is unknown, but they appear to have left the state and Ellen may have changed her surname. Investigators are firm in their belief that Ellen knew nothing about her husband’s secret life.
I would give my right arm to know what his son and daughter think about it, and if they ever suspected what their devoted dad was up to when he wasn’t at home.
So, what happened to the Boxie after he left the house and disappeared down the block from the witness who saw him?
In short… no one knows for sure.
After murdering Brute Hanlon and cleaning off the evidence that must have been all over him, the Boxie simply fades away. He could have been anywhere, doing anything at all. There is a brief sighting of him on CCTV footage at the local bus station, where he is in line to buy a ticket… and then abruptly looks up, apparently noticing the camera and looking directly into it, then turns and walks quickly away.
The footage is grainy, but the Boxie does appear to be wearing his collar.
He isn’t seen in Red Hills again.
Instead, he reappears one more time before his final murder and disappearance… more than a year later, in a little town right along the border with Nevada.
Part 3 will go into how the investigation into the death of a quiet little oddball named Robert Weber reveals a basement full of skeletal bodies. But our Boxie isn’t the cause.
Instead, Robert Weber’s murder solves a series of related murders police had been stymied by for more than a decade, and a Box Boy who may have been meant to be Weber’s next victim instead turned accidental vigilante with a final killing of his own.
Or maybe I should say, his final killing so far.
