i love your dirk drawings sooo much. the way you mix realism vs stylized in your dirk art goes crazy hard especially. both of your styles are so good so seeing them both used as symbolism to paint the broader picture is awesome as hell

Thank you very much, I do enjoy realistic Dirk & flat Dirk contrast too because to me both styles represent different facets of his character depending on the artwork.

His stylised form is more representative of who he is generalised as + a good representation of his separation from himself whereas a more realistic Dirk (to me) makes me feel more in touch with his character and it feels more emotional and less controlled. Even though it kind of sounds pretentious to put it this way, I view my less cartoonish Dirks as showcasing something more private and I tend to veer towards it the more emotional (positive or negative) the piece is for this reason.

Stell is very much a “be prepared for anything” kind of guy—years of dropping planetside and foraging for parts and research has kind of taught him well, if you count “Get Them before they can Get You” and “Energy Drinks are a viable nutrition source” as good lessons >:’D

it always feels good to go to l'ancan d'animeaux (animal auction; idk how to say 'livestock') and get rid of some critters. eight ducklings, seven chicks, my extra ketawa rooster, and a rabbit all off and not eating my food at long last. plus a friend picked up three of the older ducks too. my stuff went for some pretty decent prices too! ignore that i paid $20 for a scraggly english lop buck. it's for science (my pelt wall).

i don't normally sell a lot of rabbits but if i do they go to the auction, because i can generally trust that people buying things there are competent at caring for the animals they buy. i am planning to sell a few more of the younger rabbits once they're weaned and vaccinated, to spread around the clouded vm and white-ear genes to the population without charging 45986459859 dollars like the pet people do. plus less kits for me to have to grow out. i'm already going through a bag every other day-ish x: the horrible price to pay for having lots of cute bunnies

I know fanfic is widely accepted these days and most creators aren't going to sue you for writing it, but I am begging people to remember that by sharing your fic and OCs unsolicited with creators, you're putting them in a really uncomfortable position. For one thing, they have their own ideas for their story and it can be really awkward to respond to fans trying to insert their ideas into it. You're trapping them into interacting with your fanwork in a way that can be hard to disengage from, especially without hurting feelings. And it can also lead to trouble regarding intellectual property and plagiarism.

Say you're an author and a fan sends you a fic, which you read, and find that it's predicted some key elements to the next book of the series. Now that fan has proof that they sent you these ideas before the book came out, and when you publish your new book, they notice how similar it is to their fic. They might try taking legal action against you or they might just brag online that your idea was so great that they took it, or inversely call you a thief and an asshole for stealing their ideas. So maybe instead of even risking it, you're now trying to redo that next novel away from those elements. Are these scenarios likely to happen? No, probably not. But a lot of authors are advised by their teams to avoid fanworks for this reason anyway.

Interacting with the creators of the canon you love is awesome! But please remember they aren't fellow fans and you need to interact with them appropriately for everyone's sake

How fucked up would it be if gaster and the dreamers had a genuinely really good relationship in fell! Handplates but then shit hit the fan they turned cruel? Especially if gaster had an abusive family life before, I know from experience that if you were in a shit situation with abusive people, manage to leave and find new people only for them to turn just as bad as the last, it really fucks you up and can often make you feel like you’re at fault.

While I do prefer the Fell-from-the-start interpretation, I can see the appeal of torturing Gaster having the Fell be more of a Thing That Happens - an expression of persisting grief that the Dreemurrs can't pull themselves out of, and eventually grow into the shape of, and that feeling radiating out of them to the rest of the Underground like poison. How desperate Gaster would be to return to Before, and blaming himself because if he'd just been Better, maybe he could have saved them. Throwing his all into "fixing" them, to reclaim what's been lost
