(casually, cutely, and without any pressure meant) do you have planned a certain number of chapters for your akechi palace au... i dont usually reads WIPs but i wanna read this fic soooooooooooooo badly i love your writing
(flips open my huge planning binder which immediately crushes a small city) YES and it's changed multiple times but i just recently (like two days ago) did an entire restructuring of it so now i have a much better idea of how many chapters are left although i don't want to commit to that because my plan has already changed like six times. at the moment it is looking like
ok hold on a second i just accidentally hit ctrl v and pasted like 2000 words of tax law into this ask i need to reorient myself here
at the moment it's looking like eleven chapters or possibly ten chapters or possibly even twelve chapters depending on how hard i fuck it but i am CURRENTLY planning for eleven (ten and an epilogue). i just posted 7, 8 is almost fully drafted, the rest are planned and have drafts and notes in place and i know what beats i need to hit
thank you so much for ur kind words and for wanting to give it a shot it means so much to me!!! HOWEVER i absolutely would not blame you if you didn't wanna pick this up until it's done given i started planning this fic in 2019 and it is now... checks watch... the year 3000. not much has changed but we live underwater. ill try really hard to finish it though i promise.

♡ ward introduces the newest assistant to the office, and rafe has to have her.
warnings: lots of flirting, secrecy, super sweet fluff, dirty talk, oral (f receiving), fingering, overstimulation, multiple orgasms, squirting
word count: 3.2k
“so if you’ll come this way, you’ll see the meeting room, which is where i’ll properly introduce you to the team in about fifteen minutes,” you followed mr. cameron, your new boss, around the cubicle packed room, smiling softly at those who cared enough to look up from their computers. “there’s not really much of a dress code, all i ask is that you dress for a corporate setting.” he lead you back to his office, where he asked you to take a seat.
“i won’t work you too much, i really just need someone who can keep me and my appointments with my clients organized. my son rafe, who is co-owner at the moment, will also be in need of your assistance, no worries though all he needs from you is to keep him updated on shipments and checking back in with clients to make sure they are more than happy with our services.” mr. cameron pushed a small stack of papers towards you.
“this is just the code of conduct, some expectations for here in the office. i’m gonna go take a phone call, and you can sign those documents in the meantime.” he patted your shoulder on his way out. you took a breath, flipping through the pages. everything looked pretty standard, all drugs prohibited, anyone under the influence will be asked to go home and will be terminated effective immediately, no firearms or weapons allowed while being in the building, etc

then there was one rule, the only rule, in bold: ANY AND ALL ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIPS WITH THOSE OF HIGHER POSITIONS WILL RESULT IN TERMINATION OF BOTH PARTIES.
you hummed to yourself, mindlessly signing the papers with no clue of what was ahead of you. just as you finished signing the last page, mr. cameron walked in, flashing you a smile as you handed him the papers back. “do you have any questions for me?” he typed something up on his computer, the printer starting up soon after. “i do, actually. how come the rule for forbidding romantic relationships with higher ups the only one bolded? it’s not a problem or anything! i’m just wondering..” you cleared your throat.
“ah,” he stood up, “well the reason why it’s emphasized is because we want to avoid any and all legal troubles. lawsuits, investigations, it’s a really bad look for my company, and i would rather my employees keep their personal lives out of the office, especially those who are being paid very generously.” you nodded in understanding. “i see. very smart move.” you adjusted the ring on your finger, accepting a paper with your photo on it from mr. cameron.
“why, thank you. anyways, this is a temporary id for when you want to leave and enter the building. rafe is usually in charge of getting the id badges for our employees so he should have that ready for you by the end of the day.” he glanced down at his watch. “shall we get you introduced to everyone?” you nodded, making sure your head was held high as you two made your way to the already full meeting room. while everyone had been making small talk, rafe stayed silent while he stared at the blank presentation screen.
“good morning, everyone! i hope all is well, we’re here to discuss the construction plans for the skyscraper on the mainland, and i also have a new employee i’d like for everyone to meet,” rafe only saw your back profile, but with the view of your hips swaying in your tight pencil skirt and matching heels, it felt like eternity before you finally turned around, the sight of your perfect blowout and soft makeup doing something to his brain.. and his pants.
“this is y/n, and she is the new assistant to rafe and i. she comes from the mainland and has a degree in architecture, she is surely an amazing addition to our team, so i only expect the best treatment for her, as i do all of you.” you smiled, meeting everyone’s gaze, your heart stuttering in your chest when your eyes landed on him. he looked emotionless, but little did you know he was thinking of all the ways he could take you on his work desk.
“you can go ahead and take a seat, and we’ll get started.” you looked around, the only open seat being next to the man that made your stomach flip with a simple glance. you walked over, letting out a small ‘sorry!’ as you sat down, your knee bumping his. he didn’t acknowledge you at first, but once all eyes were on mr. cameron, rafe leaned in to speak to you quietly. “y/n, that’s your name?” you smelt his cologne before you could speak, the scent becoming your new favorite.
“yes, and yours?” rafe took your hand in his. “rafe cameron.” it took everything in you not to let your jaw drop. of course the insanely hot one was off limits. “nice to meet you.” you looked down, unable to maintain eye contact with him. rafe didn’t let go of your hand right away, clearly enjoying how shy he made you. “i’m assuming my father showed you around already?” you nodded, crossing one leg over the other. apart of you was slightly annoyed with yourself. you weren’t a shy girl, you didn’t avoid the stares of men, but rafe? he was a totally different ballpark.
“we’ll talk in my office after this.” he let go of your hand, smiling at you softly as you took out a notebook and pen, jotting down notes from what mr. cameron was going over. just like the rest of his father’s meetings, he wished this one would hurry up and end, wanting nothing more than to get you to himself already. thirty minutes later, and you found yourself sitting in front of rafe, both of you laughing about a topic he brought up.
“you know.. you carry conversation very well. a lot of people don’t know how to do that.” you adjusted your purse on your shoulder, both of you exchanging looks. he was wearing a white button down and slacks, his sleeves rolled up slightly. “thank you.” your words came out soft, the urge to steal a peek at his arms nearly unbearable. rafe examined you for a moment. “you dress very nicely, i like that.” he walked around his desk, leaning on the hardwood. “is this satin?” he rolled the fabric of your sleeve between his fingers.
if it was anyone else, you would’ve curled your lip in disgust before storming out the room and never looking back, but with the way this man towered over you, his eyes hungry as he stared you down, you met his gaze. “it is. and this? all leather?” it was a bold move, even for you, but if he was going there, you were going to meet him halfway. rafe sucked in a breath as your fingertips skimmed his belt. his hand came over yours, trailing it down his slacks, “we’re going to get along just perfectly.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
the next two weeks are a blur. first, you were too shy to look at this man, now he was stroking your thigh underneath the table during meetings. after he guided your hand over his hardening cock that fated day, it’s been nothing but hell for him, and you were enjoying every second of it. no one suspected a thing, and mr. cameron had actually told you to reside in rafe’s office for the time being while he worked to set you up somewhere nice. while rafe has been doing everything to get you where he wants you, you’ve been teasing him endlessly.
like today, you wore a black lace bra under your blouse, leaving it three buttons too shy so rafe could see what’s underneath. “mrs. thornton is on line one.” you’d bat your eyelashes up at him innocently, his teeth tugging on his bottom lip as he stared at your exposed cleavage. “you’re killing me, woman.” you’d laugh before getting out of his chair so he could take a seat. while he talked on the phone, you thought about the next way to torture him.
before you could start writing a dirty note for him, there was a light knock at the door. “come in!” rafe shouted, resuming his phone call while margaret, the receptionist, brought in the largest vase of flowers you’ve ever seen. “y/n? these are for you, honey.” you blinked, rushing to get up so you could take them out of her hands. “are- are you sure?” there was a small white envelope poking out the top. “positive. ask whoever sent you those if they have a brother.” she winked, leaving you dumbfounded.
you plopped down in one of the chairs in front of rafe’s desk, taking the envelope and revealing the small card inside.
you look beautiful everyday, so you’ll get flowers everyday <3
your head shot up at rafe who was already smiling at you. “sounds good, i look forward to our meeting mrs. thornton. yes, uh huh, alrighty goodbye.” you walked around his desk, rafe moving to face you. “did you get me these?” you took a seat on his lap, the most you ever let him touch you in two weeks. he sighed wrapping his arms around you as you read the card over and over’s again. “i did. ‘figured roses were too practical, so i got you peonies.” you smiled, pecking his cheek. “they’re my favorite.” there was a lot of intimacy going on right now that rafe wasn’t used too, but it was intimacy with you, it felt right.
“good to know. maybe we’ll get you through the catalog.” his hand rested flat on your tummy where your shirt had rode up. “you really didn’t have to do this. i love them.” you brought his coffee cup to your lips, your lipstick staining the rim as you placed the card back in the envelope. “i was thinking.. since tomorrow is the weekend and the office will be closed, why don’t we do something? i’d love to see you prance around in a bikini on my yacht.” he rested his chin in the crook of your neck, inhaling your sweet scent.
“i bet you would,” you laughed, “that sounds fun. what time should i be ready?” you adjusted yourself, so your legs were hanging off his thighs. “mmm, how about two o’clock? we’ll stay to watch the sunset.” rafe stroked the side of your face, your eyes falling to his lips as you nodded. “i’d like that.” your voice dropped down to a whisper as he leaned in closely, his breath fanning the tip of your nose. “i want to kiss you so bad right now.” his jaw clenched as you ran a hand across his chest. “so kiss me, rafe.” you wrapped an arm around his neck to steady yourself.
just as his lips ghosted over yours, there was another knock at the door. both of you sighed, your foreheads resting against each other’s before you got up, taking the vase of flowers to your desk. “come in!” rafe wore an annoyed expression as mr. cameron walked in. “great timing, dad.” rafe grumbled, making a small smile grace your features. “listen, i need you to stay later and go over some of the projects that have been sent in, and flag the ones you think are worth investing in. i’m leaving so me and rose can catch our flight on time, we’ll be back by monday.” rafe nodded absently.
mr. cameron smiled. “good afternoon, y/n. flawless work these last couple of weeks, i almost forgot how easy things can be when properly organized. you have a great rest of your day.” you returned the gesture, tilting your head slightly. “why, thank you. i hope you have an amazing flight.” mr. cameron walked out, leaving you and rafe alone once again. “just what i wanted to do tonight. work overtime.” you watched as he pinched the bridge of his nose. “i could stay with you, help you out.” he shook his head. “i couldn’t ask you to do that. don’t worry it really shouldn’t take me that long.” you waved him off.
“don’t be ridiculous, i’ll be more than happy to review the submissions with you.” he wasn’t going to tell you no, so he let you have your way. after a few hours passed by, you made your way to the front desk where margaret was getting ready to leave. “you have a good weekend, y/n. see you monday!” you laughed at how quickly she got on the elevator to go home. you walked over to the copier room and grabbed the papers fresh out the printer. “well, office is officially empty. margaret just left.” rafe yawned, loosening the tie around his neck. “damn, it’s eight o’clock already?” you placed the papers on his desk, humming softly.
you let your hair down from it’s updo, the waves falling past your shoulders. “what?” rafe was looking up at you with half-lidded eyes. he pulled you down, making you straddle him. “thank you for doing this with me. because of you, we don’t have to stay late after all.” his hands ran up and down your back, untucking your blouse from your pants. you shivered when you felt his fingers against your bare skin. “you welcome.” you tried your hardest to suppress the moan that sat at the back of your mouth.
“do you remember where we were before we were rudely interrupted earlier?” rafe started unbottoning your shirt, revealing your black lacey bra underneath. “fuck.” he closed his eyes, clenching his fists as if he was holding himself back from ravishing you right then and there. you smiled, running your thumb over his bottom lip. “there’s no one here to interrupt us now.” he grabbed the back of your neck, finally taking your lips in a heated kiss.
he groaned, making you grind your hips against his. this kiss was like something you’ve never felt before. there was tension, hunger, the desire building up over these last couple of weeks now rising to the surface in this very moment. the sounds your lips were making was enough to make you pull away, your cheeks reddening. “you gonna get shy on me now?” he tilted your chin up so you could meet his stare. “no.. i’ve just wanted to do that ever since i saw you in the meeting room.” rafe smiled, standing you up.
“you wanna know what i’ve wanted to do since i saw you in the meeting room?” his fingers worked to unbutton your pants, sliding them down your legs before pushing you back on his desk. you sucked in a breath as he ran a hand up your thigh, his finger slipping underneath the waistband of your underwear before letting the elastic snap against your skin. you gasped softly, your head falling back as rafe trailed kisses from your navel to your neck, slotting himself between your thighs where he leaned his weight on you.
you shuddered, his hands cupping your tits through your bra as he laid you down. “i thought about bending you over, fucking you to tears while you struggle to keep quiet.” his words elicited a moan from you, your hips lifting so he could slip your underwears off. “as much as i want to do that right now, i want to taste you more.” your eyes fluttered shut as he pressed wet kisses to your inner thighs, his arms locking you in so you couldn’t close them.
you thought you knew what pleasure felt like, but once you felt rafe’s tongue plunge into you, your mind went blank as he went to work on your clit, your back arching off the hardwood. he switched from slow languid strokes to fast flicks that made you see stars. “feels so good, rafe,” your hands shot down to hold onto his, your nails digging into his wrists. “yeah? like it when i tongue fuck you like this?” your body jerked when you felt him at your entrance, your toes curling in your heels.
rafe was loving this. you tasted so much better than he imagined, his cock straining against the fabric of his slacks. just making you moan and whine was enough to make him feel like he could cum in his pants. “please,” you whimpered, “please fuck me.” rafe pulled away, snaking up your body to align with your lust filled gaze. “i want to fuck you, baby, i do. but i want the first time i fill you up with my cock to be more heartfelt. i promise tomorrow that’s all we’ll do.” your heart swelled at his want to make you feel special.
“okay,” you whispered, tasting yourself on his lips. before you had a chance to think, he shoved two fingers inside you, thrusting them while his thumb rubbed hard circles on your clit. he was unforgiving, the wetness of your cunt echoing in the confines of his office. “oh, fuck,” your eyebrows knitted together as your mouth fell open, his eyes burning into your face. “do you hear how fucking soaked you are?” your chest was heaving at this point, your eyes rolling back as your thighs threatened to close around his hand.
the force alone was making you squirm, your orgasm so close you could taste it. with his thumb rubbing your clit faster, and his fingers curling inside of you, hitting that spot that made you scream, you came with a cry of his name. “oh, that’s it baby, that’s it.” he cooed, your breath stuttering while you shook in pleasure. you felt like fireworks were going off in your tummy, your eyes screwed so hard shut that you could see colors behind them.
“can’t- can’t anymore,” you whined, overstimulation taking over. he didn’t stop, determined to pull one more orgasm out of you. rafe kissed you again, swallowing all of your whimpers and moans as he managed to push you towards the edge one last time tonight. “fuck!” your mewled, your eyes shooting open when you felt a gush between your legs. “o-oh! i’m sorry.” you looked at rafe’s shirt that was now wet with your slick. “sorry for what, beautiful? i was hoping i could make you do that.” he pecked your forehead, easing you through the aftershocks of your orgasm.
“you’re so perfect, you know that?” you blinked, your eyes shining up at him. “i don’t think i’ll ever be ready for this.” rafe groaned as you palmed him through his pants. “i don’t think i’ll be ready either.” he laughed, buttoning your shirt as you sat up. your legs were like jelly as you pulled on your underwear, rafe dressing you while you sighed blissfully. once you were both put together, rafe carried your purse and your vase of flowers for you as you two rode down the elevator to the empty lobby. he put your stuff in your car, making sure to shower you in kisses before letting you go in the driver’s seat.
“see you tomorrow?” he was leaning against your window as you nodded. “i look forward to it. goodnight, rafe.” he smiled. “goodnight, gorgeous.”

Beautiful Stranger
(college au!alhaitham x f!reader - inspired by laufey’s “beautiful stranger”)
Tumblr media
Alhaitham would be the type of man to double major. As a man that loves to see connectivity from the very root of things, he’d definitely be a History/Linguistics Major.
He’s definitely the type of man to just show up to classes and leave the minute the system says it should end. A lecture ends at 10:50 AM? He’ll be out the door the minute he sees his watch change numbers. If he finds his professor to be terrible on “rate my professor”? He’ll simply come on syllabus day and test days.
The man is busy! He surely would find a way to sustain himself. He’ll probably start off as a tutor in the student center to teach students within his majors. If there’s empty days, he’d surely be the type to simply catch up on his work.
His phone would be on “Do Not Disturb '' 90% of the time. The remaining 10% is due to an argument his roommate Kaveh strikes about not seeing emergency notifications. Not that taking off the mode would make a difference anyways. The only people actively contacting him are Kaveh or other classmates from pre-requisite classes like Tighnari or Cyno.
He practically graduates with perfect grades and a stellar GPA from undergrad. It’s almost astonishing how a man that’s rarely around manages to be graduating with Summa Cum Laude honors.
By the time he joins a master’s program, he’s seeming to be set on what he wants to do now. He doesn’t seem to enjoy tutoring all too much, so professor is out of the question. However, the idea of conservation and working on archives catches his interest. Preferably, a library preservation technician. Yes, a job with minimal communication, yet a close up look at documents that he has either studied or not? It seems almost ideal!
He has already found a path to graduating with a masters degree too, already having planned out how to tackle writing his thesis with ease unlike his peers. However, there’s been a string of inconveniences he’s been experiencing lately in his own place: Kaveh. Kaveh has been hammering away at making his own architectural models. While Alhaitham didn’t really see this as a dealbreaker of living conditions, he won’t deny how his precious sleep gets lost, even if his soundproof earpieces are on his ears.
Two weeks and no improvement, he decides to go against his usual decision making and decides to make a late night stop to the library of the university. He finds it to be easy enough; he lives quite near it, and certainly no one would be there. It’s almost perfect. He finds the floor with the study rooms, finding a desk with the outlets and sitting on it with what he considers a content look on his face. However, it’s when he takes a quick look around that he realizes that he’s not the only one. There’s you.
Now, you were definitely quite the sight. You were in the study room across his, the clear plexiglass separating you both. You two were technically facing each other, yet the laptops you two were typing away at were enough to cover most of what you two were doing. He saw you with a comfortable appearance of a sweatshirt and some sweats, your position on your chair quite comfortable as you hacked away at your own work. The only time he managed to fixate on your workspace was when he was deciding to stretch his arms. He took in all the formulas on your papers, all the charts and plots you’ve made, and the handwritten notes with long words and arrows between them. He saw the word “metabolic pathways” and deduced that you were a science major at the very least.
“Alright. Cool. Back to work.” He told himself. And he was working quite well. However, he wouldn’t lie, he found the way you studied to be quite amusing. He’s passed by a good amount of students in the library when he was tutoring. Some people were quiet and worked away, some people probably brought in food, some people even cried and slammed their laptops shut. However, you seemed to be in your own little world. You had your tablet being your own main source of brainstorming, you had your papers scattered by chapters, and you had brought some food for yourself and
coffee?
The sight of the huge cup slowly being drained by your constant sipping almost made him want to chuckle. Almost. His long fingers stayed idle as he watched you quietly mouthing the words to whatever song you had in your headphones, your head bopping along with the tune.
“Hmph.” He’d grunt, going back to his work. The next time he’d look up at you is when you went to tap him on the shoulder. “Excuse me?” A voice asks, making him take off an earpiece and look back. Sure enough, it’s “science lady”, as he has dubbed you. “Yes?” He asked. He wanted to look amiable enough for you to talk to him, but you saw his plain look on his face. He almost looked
unamused. You suddenly felt so embarrassed to disturb him at this ungodly hour. “Do you mind watching my stuff? I’m going to be using the bathroom.”
The question made him scoff before he realized: Why would he need to watch over it? Everyone looked like they’d be doing nothing of the sort, but still, seeing the look on your face made him realize it was an earnest question. And so, he decides to agree. Seeing your face brighten accompanied with an earnest thanks almost made him want to smile. Almost. He saw the way you briskly walked to the bathroom, which only amused him more.
The coffee only gets to you after how much you’ve been drinking it. Though, you couldn’t get over how cute this guy looked! Did he look kinda scary? Yeah, but you couldn’t deny that he looked quite cute. Though, you couldn’t help but wonder if it was because you were cooped in your research lab so much that you found anything amusing nowadays, including this mystery guy. Still, he had interesting eyes, you had to admit it. You liked his shaggy silver hair, the way he casually came in and seemed so fixated on his work. What a shame it might be a one time thing. Oh, how did this library crush become part of your thoughts so quickly while you washed your hands.
You thank him as you return to your seat with a little thumbs up, and he only sends you a little smile back. You would be lying if you said that the little curve at the edge of his lip made you wanna squeal. What you didn’t see was that his green eyes were staring at you as you sat down, waiting for you to see a particular item. And you saw it, alright. He can tell just by the raise of your brows and your wide eyes. It was right on your keyboard of the laptop, a paper torn out of the corner of his notebook. His penmanship was quite remarkable, and the contents of it amused you: “Maybe a little water would be more efficient than that coffee you’re chugging, no?”
Alhaitham practically was curious to see how you’d react. He could only gauge your reaction from your eyes, seeing your hand reach for a piece of paper before your head disappears behind the screen. He didn’t know what you were thinking either when you passed back a paper to him. It was a blank page which only contained your handwriting: “My water bottle actually spilled on my way here.” Next to it was a little sad face next to it.
Now, Alhaitham wasn’t prepared for that type of wholesome response. In fact, he’s surprised that it went as well as it did. He saw you practically scurry back to your studying table with a tiny smile on your face, your eyes back to focusing on work. However, it did not go without you making a little scene of taking yet another sip of your coffee from your large cup. It didn’t occur to him till you gave him a tiny smile that he was stealing glances your way a little too much. He was long done with his workload for the night, yet something bolted him to his seat. There was something that kept him in this crowd of procrastinating students.
Though, it’s clear that you were trying to be diligent despite your antics. He couldn’t deny that he found the way your lips pout as you concentrated on an endearing sight, or that you were the one he’s been oddly eyeing in this busy space. He was a bit let down seeing that you wouldn’t be looking his way for a while. You didn’t look at anything but your work until a push of a chair is heard, the tall man is seen making his way out. Your eyes carefully watch him with some sort of melancholy stirring in your heart, wishing he stayed longer, or that he wrote even just one more note to you.
Little did you know that as Alhaitham kicks off his shoes at his house’s foyer, he’s left thinking of a particular science girl chugging on coffee, clinging onto the post-it with a particular someone’s scribbles and sad face. Little did you know that the man was thinking of an excuse to visit the library tomorrow night, wondering if you’d be there.

So the fact that I have writer’s block is not a secret lol my ao3 last updated advertises the fact openly, and I’m trying to solve it. There are many reasons for it, mostly related to depression and addiction and other life-sapping problems that I am dealing with, but I know that the problem is also with the story itself. The muses have gone silent on War Drums in a very serious and unprecedented way.
I’ve just been bashing my head against the wall trying to figure out why it feels like that story that is the heart of my creative drive atm is dead in a way that I can’t force back into life. I’ve reluctantly come to the conclusion that the fact that the entire book was extensively and lovingly planned a couple years ago with architectural precision from the outside is actually the problem.
It was extremely fun back then to plan the book, chapter by chapter, planet by planet. That’s why I know we’re 15/45 of the way through that story, and each chapter represents about 3.125% of the total narrative. The character arcs follow beats timed according to percentage of the way through, like at 37% and 62% of the way through there are important conflicts that evolve their relationship, etc. It's solid and settled.
This is a problem because it’s no longer a mystery to write, and so not as fun to write, you know? It’s filling out a form that was outlined in the past, the mere execution of an idea that already exists fully formed in planning documents. I try to find energy to write from excitement about obikin’s relationship evolving, but I already know exactly when and how it happens, and so it just feels rote.
I remember how it felt to write Lex Talionis, and I KNOW that I can successfully write a 187k complete book. The difference with LT was that I felt the shape of that book and vaguely sensed plot points that I needed to happen, but my subconscious did the planning and writing it was more like discovering it. I need that energy back for War Drums if I'm going to finish.
Of course I really really really don’t want to throw away that much planning. It’s comforting to have the entire story on rails, and I can trust the pacing to that outlining structure. BUT I’ve spent the summer slowly coming to the realization though that it simply will never happen, and what I need to do is toss the outline in the bin, reread the beginning, see what threads are there, and dive off into the unknown.
So I don’t know how War Drums is going to end anymore. Or I knew how one version ended, it was satisfying, and maybe after I finish the version I am about to write, I will share the old dense outline. I’m going to make it fresh by making it new, and hopefully that means more story will come this fall. It’s a creative project unlike anything I’ve ever tried before, so we’ll see, but I feel intrigue and a hint of inspiration, so I need to chase it.

It girl Manifesting/Scripting List âœšđŸ€âœš
I am ready to commit to the It Girl lifestyle. I’m determined to become the woman I want to be and learn to embrace and celebrate my accomplishments. I’ve tried in the past, but it never quite took off the ground. This time, I'm going in with a plan! Below are some overarching ways I want to bring more abundance into my life.
Consistently practicing gratitude, I have been immensely blessed for everything I accomplished and the support system I have gained over the years. Very grateful for every opportunity as it's what made me the woman I am today. The first step to abundance is gratitude.
Financial Stability: I want to have the confidence that I can handle unexpected expenses while also giving myself a better quality of life. Release my scarcity mindset. Save up to 6 months of expenses. Complete the 52-week saving challenge.
Confidence in my work, remember that I am new, take everything as a learning lesson, and follow the rules.
Positive self image, believe that I am enough. See my inner/outer beauty. Put more effort into my appearance.
Building healthy routines, hair appointments, eyebrow appointments. Have a planning routine and new hygiene routines.
Taking care of my health, return to the dentist. It is very overwhelming, and I need so much done.
Moving out of the state, options are Houston and NYC. I want to go to NYC and move in with my dad's side of the family. I’ve wanted to do this for a long time, and I need a time-out. I also enjoy a better quality of life. NYC has amazing food and architecture, and I will never be bored. The job market is pretty competitive, so I'm working on my resume and have confidence that I am a valuable candidate.
Consistent blogging/content, start an IG documenting my It girl/wellness/career journey. It gives me a way to romanticize my life. It would also provide me with practice in creating a posting schedule and organizing my ideas.
Letting love back into my life, after my break up I shut my heart down and kept the world at arm's length. Now, I want to return to the dating world, and I like to transition smoothly.
Accepting a job in NYC, it's also vital for it to be very similar to my role now. I want to stay in the GRC space.
This is not everything I want to do, but this is an excellent place to start. I'm so ready for this glow-up. My mind is there; all I have to do is plan and execute.
Cheers to new beginnings. May my blessings and yours overflow! đŸ„‚âœšđŸ€

IT'S BLORBO FROM MY SHOWS, IT'S BLORBO FROM MY SHOWS!!!! I shout, except it's a shot of a bunch of empty buildings. Rukongai my beloved. <3
This is a great environment shot, for anyone needing to describe Junrinan. You can see the mountains off in the distance, and, if you look in the opposite direction, you immediately see the Seireitei:
Tumblr media
Which is pretty bananas in terms of the sharp architectural distinctions between the two. At least until you think about how sharp urban ecotones can be in real life, and then you're like, ah, that tracks.
Before Yoruichi tells us Rukongai's name, we hear it referred to as the "western slums" in the official Gotei warning order, a term Yoruichi then echoes (in the Viz). I think they chose "slum" because it makes the most sense in context; Yoruichi describes Rukongai as the poorest but most free place in Soul Society.
In the Japanese, the term both the Gotei alert and Yoruichi use is éƒ›ć€–ïżœïżœ (fugaiku), which isn't explicitly a word for slum (and, briefly Googling around, seems to be mostly Bleach-specific). It uses the characters for what Jisho defines as "earthwork enclosure around a castle"* combined with "outside" + "district" which is, ignoring any connotations/context, just the place outside the castle/city. Again, for the purposes of emphasizing the message and specifying the vocabulary, "slum" is efficient and meaning-dense.
*"郛" is not part of the usual kanji one might learn; it's part of a family of kanji that in manga tends to be used for stylistic flare/to connote feelings of the ancient/the literary.
BUT, also consider: If you were an Academy student writing your final paper for Sociology 437: Urban Planning in the Spirit World and Environmental Justice, I feel like there's so much fodder here for fun worldbuilding/history-making:
Does the Gotei ALWAYS officially refer to Rukongai by its geographic designation (fugaiku) rather than by its population (Rukongai, home to wandering souls)? It's an interesting rhetorical choice, given that their job directly concerns those souls, but calling it "the place outside" in official documents/alerts explicitly privileges other information.
Yoruichi says it's "commonly known" as "Rukongai" and uses different quotation/name marks for fugaiku vs. Rukongai, so they're not seen as equivalent names, per se; one might argue that even though it's the Gotei-official term for RUkongai, in actuality it is a way of refusing to name Rukongai, except in terms of its geographic description relative to the Seireitei. It's not a Place, capital P, just something that exists relative to our Place.
Who came up with "Rukongai"? The answer can't just be "Rukongai did" because it's massive and splintered and doesn't appear to have a central governing body. Some ancient Rukongai scribe ghost? The nobles? I'm into both these options. Or maybe it was a mail-in poll.
Was there, historically, an "earthwork enclosure around the castle"? Obviously there's a gate that we're told mostly lives in the sky, but back in the day was there also originally a different, 24/7 wall?

Are you just going to leave me here?
Connor Stole x Athena!reader
Genre: Fluff

Tumblr media
I was in my cabin quietly reading a book my sister Annabeth recommended to me about ancient architecture in western civilizations. It was surprisingly good, she’d been trying for a while to get someone else into architecture so she could geek out with her. Her plan had worked, I was hooked.
I was reading about Athenian architecture in the United States capital specifically when there was a knock at the cabin door. I grabbed my owl bookmark to keep my page, set down my book, and walked over to the door.
Before I could even get to the handle the door swung open revealing my best friend, Connor Stoll. With his curly hair and cheeky smile he walked into the Athena cabin and slumped down onto my bed. “Making yourself at home are ya?” I said, with a small laugh.
“You know it. Your cabin is so much nicer than Hermes” he said, his face in my pillow. “That’s because we know how to keep our cabin clean” I responded, walking over and sitting at the foot of my bed by his feet.
He flipped over and looked at me and then back at the large library room in the center of the cabin. The only part of the cabin that was any sort of messy. Looking at it, it was somehow easy and impossible to believe it belonged to the children of wisdom, books were everywhere. Unevenly on shelves, in large stacks on tables and desks, chaotic piles on the floor, you name it. There was one large circular table in the center, with a cutout so people could get to the middle. There were chairs on either side, though no one ever used them, a lot of our work was done standing. The table was littered with loose papers, torn up documents, finished and unfinished maps, stuff like that. There were all sorts of writing utensils as well. There were pencils, pens, markers, highlighters, even a few quills in ink pots. It looked like an archive had exploded but to me and my siblings, we knew where everything was and where everything needed to be.
“Clean” he said in a sarcastic tone. “I looked at him with a playful grin and said “ha ha you know what I mean,” I looked back at the room and remembered the map I had promised I’d finish for my brother and got up. “That reminds me,” I said “I needed to finish a map for Gabriel” and walked over to the table to start working.
I felt a hand grab my wrist, stopping me in my tracks. “Wait-” I heard him say. He was sitting up now, his arm outstretched to grab mine and his face tilted slightly up to look in my eyes. He continued, “you’ve been reading and working all day, you deserve a break” he told me with a sympathetic smile. Gods how I loved that smile, it always made a dark situation have a little bit of light. “I haven’t been working that long, it’s only been a few hours” I said, not moving still. “You skipped lunch, I don’t even think you realized it” he told me, starting to sound a little worried. He was right, I skipped lunch and hadn’t realized. I was reading so much and working so hard I hadn’t even acknowledged how hungry I am. “It worries me when you put work over eating,” he said.
I blushed a little, I wouldn’t tell anyone and especially not Connor himself but last summer I’d fallen for him. How funny is that? Daughter of wisdom falling in love with the son of tricksters. To know he cared about me made me feel special, but he’s my best friend, he probably was worried because of that reason, not because he loves me back.
“I know,” I lied, I hadn’t known, “but I promised Gabriel I’d finish this” I said and turned to keep walking to the table. I picked up a compass and a pencil that’d been lying somewhere on the table and started to chart the map again. I saw Connor pull out a chair and sit in my peripheral vision. I looked at him quickly and gave him a small laugh which he returned. We remained that way for a few minutes, me in the zone charting the map and him watching, before I heard let out a sigh and started to get up. I looked at him as he said “well let me know when you’re done, I have an awesome prank planned for the aphrodite cabin but I need a strategist” before turning to the door.
I dropped the compass and the pencil and grabbed his wrist, stopping him like he’d stopped me before. He turned to face me with a little bit of a questioning look on his face. “Are you just gonna leave me here? To work on this map all alone, in an empty cabin?” I said, in a joking tone. A smile crept up onto my face.
He smiled back and looked at me for a sec before dipping his head and laughing a little. He had a big smile on his face, like he was planning something. Before I knew it he’d leaned down and planted a kiss on my lips. It was short lived and over before it began,“as long as you’re done soon” and took his chair back to watch me work again.
I stood there for a moment, stunned at what just happened. The boy I'd been in love with, my best friend, just kissed me. I turned around to face him, he was in his chair looking at me with that same cheeky smile. The one that always made me happy. And I smiled back. I walked back over to the table, grabbed my compass and pencil and began to work again, him watching me with loving eyes. At that moment all my fears about him not liking me back flew out the window and we sat there for what felt like ever. Alone in the cabin, as I worked, as he watched, in love.

Sahara
(Didn’t really check for any mistakes)ïżŒ
I should add more context to Sahara. Iskall Mumbo and Grian are at the casino, because Iskall and Mumbo wanted to see how the Concorp casinos worked. Grian is the best gambler out of the three of them and they set him up to cheat in the game of poker to see what would happen.
Except Grian didn’t pay attention to the meeting and was left clueless. (Iskall planned this, Mumbo was a bit against the plan but went with it.)
Mumbo and Iskall know how Concorp works just not Aqua Town. (I like your idea buleix) let’s put Mumbo as an old worker of theirs and he knows how they work. He didn’t work under the casino but knows how the casinos work. He was one of the best engineers in Concorp.
Mumbo dislike the fact that they con people out of their companies and took whatever they wanted. They left people jobless at times and then took them into their company, due to how helpless they were. (It was Easy prey for them.)
So he left to make his own company. A better company that would take down Concorp. He ended up recruiting Iskall and Grian along the way. Iskall was a man with many talents in a shitty job and Grian was a broke college student in architecture.
But Mumbo was one of their favorites. They always had him by their side. They even raised his pay after every invention he made. Grian was sure to become their new favorite, maybe even more.
The Sahara company is more Redstone based. It focuses on well-made Redstone inventions with a nice outer layer around them. It’s one of the top five companies In the city and is known for hiring low-raking Redstoners and builders. It’s also known for getting lower companies back on their feet and having a large amount of shops in the area. (This is the gist of their company)
—
“We should really tell him.” Mumbo shuffled In his seat, his eyes darting to Grian and back to Iskall. He was nervous about this plan, there was a high chance of something going wrong.
“He will be fine, trust me.” Iskall waved a hand as he cleaned up some papers. Mumbo looked at Grian, he lay in his chair, his hair a mess and his eyes unfocused. Mumbo grumbles and turns to look back at Iskall.
“Well, if anything happens to him it’s your fault.” Mumbo picked up a pile of papers and dropped them in front of Grian. The table shook at the new weight and Grian fell with a squawk. Iskall laughed and Mumbo sighed. He pulled on his coat and picked up a few documents. ïżŒ
‘What will he do now, this wasn’t in the plan. He didn’t want to put any of his friends in danger just to take down his old ex Bosses. What was he thinking when he recruited two of the most important people in his life.’ Mumbo rubbed his face and walked out of the room. His steps were loud and his movements wary. ‘What should he do now?’
-AAA anon, these ask are going to be long, I hope you know what you sighed up for. Also the Aqua town casinos look like the ones in LV. Lots of windows and lights. (Also my username is hadesfangsmoon)
OOOOH YEEEES
Mumbo working in the far past, knowing some things about Concorp and Aqua Town in general- He really wants to take convex down.. hating their morals.. Poor poor Grian kinda being used as a pawn in Mumbo's game (like not in a bad way.. i think?) idk--
I will absolutely eat up anything you share here with the AU.. long or not.. i love it.. so much.. *rattles the bars of my cage*

The name of Magic
This is my current priority WIP. I've been writing this for ages, making little headway, and being very precious about all the words in it. I'm finally shaking off all the crap and delving headfirst. Honestly, sometimes the 'moment of inspiration' that helps you write one perfect gleaming passage can hamper the rest of the project because you care too much about what you've already written. It's happened to me with this one. But since I'm finally getting somewhere with the backend of the planning-y stuff, let's start it off.
Synopsis:
A desolate world is no longer a place for humanity to survive. A final and suspiciously well-kept vestige sits atop a sheer cliff, surrounded by mountains on three sides. The city of Ragusa is a gleaming, gaudy, absurd collection of rules, mental illness, and perfectly manicured hedges.
Magic is almost not worth mentioning, it happens all the time and means almost nothing to anyone. But our, uh, hero? Arast is uniquely talented at Magic, which in a society that trims its hedges of any overly ambitious branches, that can land you in hot water. In Arast's case it lands him outside the city, over the mountains, on a "quest" given to him by the King. He and his friend Jelly are on a mission to find and slay a marauding wildebeast for the King when they discover something dark about their suspicious city. Perhaps the city's acute perfection of civic architecture was too good to be true.
So there!
I want to try to post about this every now and then, I've been keen on writing this for ages, it's just always been a really difficult one for the kind of premise I've gone with.
I've been heavily inspired by:
HunterxHunter
Terry Pratchett's Discworld Series
Monty Python's Mystico and Janet: Flats built by hypnosis
Donald Trump
I feel like I've come up with a really unique magic system that I want to use to explore contemporary issues in society, but that's lofty, because my main goal, is to finally write something I just want to write, that I enjoy writing. Something silly, cerebral, clever, altogether unserious, and varied. That's what I'm looking for.
This project has no real demographic, I just want to write it for myself, but the motivation to write it for others and internet strangers helps.
I hope you all follow me along for the ride!
Tumblr media
A quick lil' screenshot of my planning document which I'll be using to organise ideas because my brain does not work the way a word doc wants it to.
And here's a link to my Wattpad account (lol) that I've used infrequently to post random tidbits: https://www.wattpad.com/user/FelixMcphie
Thanks for listening! (Reading, but listening just fits better)

Top 10 Must-Have Essentials for a Successful Job Interview
Tumblr media
Interviews can be nerve-wracking, but being well-prepared can ease your worries and boost your confidence. Whether it’s your first interview or you’re a seasoned professional, having the right items on hand can make a big difference. If you’ve found yourself Googling “what documents to bring to a job interview,” this guide will provide you with a comprehensive checklist to help you stand out and make a great impression.
1. A Hard Copy of Your Resume
This might seem obvious, but it’s crucial to bring a printed version of your resume. Use high-quality paper and store it in a folder to keep it crisp and professional-looking. A soft copy on your phone or email is also handy, as you may need to share it digitally.
2. Educational and Professional Certificates
If your resume lists certifications or degrees, interviewers may ask to see them. Be prepared by carrying originals and photocopies of these documents in an organized folder. Having these on hand showcases your professionalism and readiness.
3. A Portfolio (if Applicable)
For roles in creative or technical fields such as graphic design, photography, architecture, or writing, a portfolio is essential. Whether it’s a digital presentation or a physical booklet, ensure your work is well-organized and highlights your best projects.
4. Copies of Important Documents
Beyond your resume and certificates, include documents like your cover letter, reference letters, and past employment verification. Contact the HR team in advance to confirm if any specific paperwork is required.
5. A Reference List
Prepare a list of professional references who can vouch for your skills and work ethic. Include their full names, designations, companies, contact details, and a brief note on your professional relationship. Make sure your references are informed and willing to provide feedback if contacted.
6. Office Address and Contact Information
Plan your route to the interview location. Write down the address and contact number of the office to avoid last-minute confusion. In case of a technological glitch, having this information on paper can save you stress.
Pro Tip: If you’re using public transport, leave home 15–20 minutes earlier than planned. This cushion time accounts for any unforeseen delays and ensures you arrive relaxed and on time.
7. Government-issued ID Card
Many office buildings require identification for security clearance. Carry a government-issued ID like a passport, national ID, or driver’s license to avoid any inconvenience at the entrance.
8. A List of Thoughtful Questions
An interview isn’t just about answering questions; it’s also your opportunity to learn about the company and role. Prepare a list of insightful questions to ask the interviewer. For instance:
What does a typical day in this role look like?
How does the company support employee growth and development?
What are the key challenges for this position?
9. Hydration and Sustenance
Traveling, waiting, and interviewing can be exhausting. Carry a small water bottle to stay hydrated and a light snack to keep your energy up. Avoid messy or strongly scented snacks, as these could be distracting.
10. Confidence and a Positive Attitude
Finally, the most important things to bring to an interview are your confidence and positivity. Remind yourself that you’ve earned this opportunity. Take deep breaths, maintain good posture, and engage in positive self-talk. Remember, interviews are a two-way process — you’re assessing the company as much as they’re assessing you.
Other than that we have also explored the use of ChatGPT in your interview preparation process in a different article, so do check that out too. All the best!
Bonus Tips for a Seamless Interview Experience
Carry Stationery: A pen and a small notebook can be useful for taking notes during the interview. This shows attentiveness and preparedness.
Dress Appropriately: Find out about the company’s dress code in advance. When in doubt, opt for formal attire to make a polished impression.
Use a Neat Bag: Choose a professional-looking bag that can hold all your documents and essentials securely. Crumpled papers or disorganized items can leave a poor impression.
Research the Company: Familiarize yourself with the company’s history, values, and recent accomplishments. This knowledge can help you craft tailored answers and demonstrate genuine interest.
Conclusion
Preparing for a job interview goes beyond practicing answers; it’s about presenting yourself as a well-rounded, organized, and confident candidate. By following this checklist, you’ll be equipped with all the essentials to make a lasting impression.
If you’re based in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, these tips are especially crucial in competitive job markets. Whether you’re attending an interview in Kinshasa, Lubumbashi, or Goma, being prepared with these items will set you apart from other candidates. Good luck with your job search, and may your next interview be the first step toward your dream career!

Just a thought that flew by with some questions.
Did our history burn away in the library of knowledge?
The library in Pergamon, Athens, Constantinople and the famous library of Alexandra in Egypt which also had a university with 14,000 students.
Much of the knowledge from this side of the earth was collected in these places.
Knowledge can become an abuse of power unless man is very developed and good.
47 years before our era, in other words 47 BC. Knowledge burned up in these libraries one by one.
Since we do not have answers to many questions such as the pyramids, certain temples with stone blocks up to 1500 tons that were moved. Perhaps spiritual wisdom, and also an enormously developed beauty when looking at design, architecture, etc. In this very time about 2000 years ago, perhaps the answer to this and much else in history burned down.
So the question is: Did the documents burn down according to a plan for the perfection of power, or was it just a coincidence / accident?
Yes, you can ask yourself, even today there is a lot of secrecy that goes hand in hand with power.
Just after that came the New Testament, where documents from the Dead Sea Scrolls were used that did not burn down in the libraries. This writing became a guideline until today.
Could it be that more documents never burned down but were moved before the fires? Perhaps there is some knowledge left about history and the origin of man that we do not have access to today, something that you can ask yourself.
And if that was the case, where could this historical knowledge possibly be found?, Maybe in the Vatican?
There is a huge library there that should have been digitized so everyone could have access to our history. No one should be able to own our history?! But that is not the case, all these documents are not available to the public, well, it is easy to ask yourself, why!?
In short, power and money are a temptation that many souls find difficult to resist. To this day, we see power blocs that erase history through the destruction of old symbols and information. This destructiveness belongs to the rhetoric of the devil to rule over man.
The keys to understanding lie of course in the question. And questioning is the only possibility not to be deceived by the dark forces here on mother earth. Censoring the questioning or silencing someone's question is the power of darkness, so also to twist and modulate the truth for one's own gain.
To a certain extent, one can locate oneself in what the structure / thicket looks like by carrying certain thought tiles with them through life's adventures. Example of trying to see with perspective, to use questioning instead of just following blindly. Knowledge sets the focus and understanding why things are the way they are.
P.s. if you have your own thoughts or knowledge on this subject, it would be interesting if you filled in with your puzzle pieces?!

Structural Stories (2 of 2)
Tumblr media
(Originally posted on 11th February 2022)
In the first part of this article I tried to explain why architectural design is still very much needed, and needs to be laid-out coherently.
When people buy that argument, the next debate is usually on precisely what should make it onto paper.   There’s no single right answer, because architecture depends on context—and is partly an art form in any case.  But a few universal rules do apply.
First, think about the stakeholders and their questions.   List the significant questions, and for each one imagine the diagram, table, bullet list, graph
whatever, that best answers it.   Often the best way to articulate the answer is with more than one of these in concert, because whilst a diagram can replace a thousand words, it also tends to leave ambiguity, so benefits from an accompanying narrative.  I can’t tell you how many times I've seen this go wrong, with authors unclear on the message their diagram conveys, or using a picture to explain something which is essentially tabular, or choosing to nest items which have no such real relationship.  If you’re unsure what form to use then Gene Zelazny's books offer some good generic advice. Or try the 5-Second Test (see chapter 21 here) on a colleague to see if your creation readily indicates what’s going on.
What to include?  Start by covering elements introduced or modified in your initiative.  Then contextualise by showing anything already in place that will interact with those.   The difference between the old and the new should scream off the page, so in a system with any real complexity, showing separate “before” and “after” versions can be especially powerful.
A super-important (often-overlooked) feature of an architecture document is the set of architecture decisions made.   Readers shouldn’t have to infer; instead each decision should be highlighted, showing the list of options considered, the pros and cons of each, and the considered choice that was eventually made. Before decisions are made, there should always be a set of principles to inform decision-making (many of which might be inherited company standards) and these principles should also be visible to readers.
And what about timing?   In Agile settings we accept that not all of the architecture is known before development starts.   But write-down what you can, highlight gaps so they’re not forgotten later, and organise documents so they’re easy to iterate on—just like the technology they describe.
Just as important as any of this are the language, notation and format of documents.   We are, after all, aiming for readability and ease of understanding.   Here are my top 6 tips:
a)     Sequence the story so it builds on what the reader already knows – for example, don’t begin with storage plans for data described later, or sketch infrastructure to support an application explained on the next page.
b)    Keep notation absolutely consistent throughout the document – if your APIs are blue hexagons, then they’re blue hexagons.   Please don’t make one of them a red square later, because we’ll assume that something has changed, and (if we’re awake) we’ll ask what it was.
c)     Keep your labels absolutely consistent throughout the document – component “AB” should never be renamed “AlphaBeta” later on.  As the author, you can probably relate the two, but anyone else has to double-check that they’re the same.  Don’t even change fonts or font sizes unless you need to—these are all ways to indicate a difference to the reader, who will then experience dissonance, slowing everyone down.
d)    If you’re using “before” and “after” diagrams to highlight changes, please don’t change diagram elements which stay the same in the real world—it’s 100x easier when we can flip between two similar diagrams, immediately see what changes, and get real meaning from that.  Yes, this can be difficult to depict if “before” and “after” look very different.  The easiest way is to first draw the “super-diagram” containing all the elements from both diagrams.  When you’ve got that ready, just delete the bits that don’t apply, to create the “before” and “after” views.
e)    If you’re in PowerPoint, KeyNote, Visio etc. please remember that an architecture document is still a document, not a presentation.  It needs to stand alone, without the voiceover.  Yes, you could offer instead to present the material, but beware the downsides (see reason #3 from part 1).
f)      Finally, use good grammar throughout, and avoid making space-filler assertions that you don’t really mean!  (More common than you might think.)   Again, we’re simply trying to make the reader’s job easier, because we respect their stake in the solution, and/or value their inputs.
