geeeee... is it embarrassing to admit that i've been in SO MANY RPCs? (i've been rping on tumblr for 10 years now!!) i wouldn't even know where to begin. i guess i'll talk about one that i've been thinking about! but... i don't know if it can even be CONSIDERED an RPC, because like... my muse was from something so "niche" - that there were NO other RPers for it. and like, i'm not even talking about "oh it's a dead fandom" - like i legit believed there was no other RPers for it EVER. at least, i couldn't find any evidence of it existing. and hell, it only got a few RPers 'cos i managed to get people into it. MOST ppl legit believed this muse was an OC before following LOL.

but i wanna say before revealing what i'm talking about is that i wrote him back in 2018-2019, and liiike oddly enough now it's gained traction. i dunno if it's 'cos smiling friends is so popular and ppl are checking out other [adult swim] content but yeah!! i now notice on twitter, exceptional fanart or posts tend to get 1k likes. and then i notice MORE fanart popping up on tumblr! i even see fanart of mah favorite ship with my former muse! and even my old posts are getting regular notes now! and it's like whaaa?! where were y'all back when i was in the fandom?! like i swear - there were SOME fans, but barely any. i couldn't find ANY fanart to reblog at all. it's frickin wild!

anyway, i wrote bill dickey (and later, who i headcanoned as his twin brother, aaron winkleman) from the eltingville club! which was a comic book making fun of toxic nerd culture in the 90s. many also know it as welcome to eltingville, as sadly, it has a pilot from the early 2000s for [adult swim] that never picked up!

USUALLY when i write muses from unpopular fandoms, i STRUGGLE to get interactions like y'all won't believe. usually it ends with me giving up because i just can't get any mutuals at all. but bill was a special case! ppl ended up LOVING bill despite not knowing about his source material, and i ended up getting a lotta great interactions! i guess because bill is such an entertaining character, it's easy to like him despite how horrible he is! lol! plus as i said, many ppl thought he was my oc at first. XD i did get like 10 people reading it!

because the fandom was gaining traction again... i had CONSIDERED going back to the blog (since i actually still have it up!) buuuut... i also know i am VERY bad at managing more than one (or two) rp blogs at most. so...

like jin & devil, i'd also often write bill & aaron shenanigan posts, they went about the same, too... except probs even louder.

and in this case, there is no "good" one. both bill & aaron were horrible, horrible ppl lmao. (and yes, this is referring to the "area 51" raid if y'all remember that LMAO)

aah just talking about it makes me nostalgic. :') funny enough, this series also screwed over bill because i can't escape bad media that screws over my favorites DUNNO WHY SDFDSNJ. except in this case, it was the ending. hooo boy. i went on long rants about the ending like i would on this blog. like that may make me sound like a hater - but the ending was so BAD, they legit forget a character's name. they legit call one of the MAIN CHARACTERS by a different name. that's how bad & inconsistent it was. (tho it's also worth noting the ending happened after a 10+ hiatus, the creator was clearly done with it and didn't want to bring it back, but only did due to wanting to make a commentary on something that was happening at the time)

now i'm starting to get a lil nostalgic for these guys talkin' about 'em again. :')

also i saw this movie a week ago so idk how great this’ll be but

over all i really liked it!

one, loved that they used practical effects and that there was real sets and backdrops instead of just. cgi-ing every thing! like the fact that the houses and slide were real are everything to me

i think barbie land in general was really well done! not only the aesthetics, but the way the actors move and interact with eachother! their dialogue especially definitely reads as a kid playing with their dolls with how ken heals immediately and him wanting to go to barbie’s house but he’s unsure what theyed do their. also when ryan goslings ken flipped i could totally see a kid rotating their doll around like i did when i was younger. the fashion was also very top tier

THE WEIRD BARBIES I LOVE THE WEIRD BARBIES me being a nerd i knew every single one of them and was geeking out when they were on camera. i wish they would’ve kept kens cock ring tho

i loved the reference to bratz with sasha and her friends ( and her nick name being bunny boo) and i think it was a cute homage

i liked kens story line with the patriarchy (and the horses) and to me it felt a lot like growing up with guy friends and watching them grow up into patriarchal assholes??? if that makes sense. and how he needed to learn how to be his own person outside of barbie. i don’t think ken is bad just a little lost and misguided <3 also i love the phrase mojo dojo casa house it’s been on repeat ever since i heard it

i think the weakest point of the movie for me is will ferrell as the ceo. i think at this point in his career will ferrell only plays one role and it’s will ferrell, and it’s been so over done at this point that it was very unfunny. also the idea that the ceo of this doll is just a goofy guy that loves barbie and doesn’t care about making money rings as unrealistic in a way that doesn’t fit this movie, which could’ve been fine if it was funny but it wasn’t ;/. also i feel like they never really resolved anything with the board of men?? like the point out that it’s an issue but by. the end of the movie nothing changes with them?? like idk it would’ve been cool if margo’s barbie took control of the board, symbolizing hee new autonomy and her taking charge of her own narrative but oh well.

quite honestly i felt like the themes and messages of feminism were quite surface level on a first watch?? like they were quite basic to me but seeing as so many people especially men who watched the movie and didn’t get it maybe i’m being too harsh

i really liked all the scenes with ruth, especially the one where her and barbie are in the void (???) and there’s a montage of women. that made me emotional lol. i think the movies more existential themes are done a lot better than it’s gender ones

this was a bit of a mess lol but tldr i think the movie was good! it was trying to do a lot and in that there were a few things that went unresolved but overall even though it wasn’t perfect like i wanted it to be it was a good, fun , watch.

Top 3 4 Manga/Anime of mine that I'd recommend-

Demon Slayer / Kimetsu no Yaiba: 10 out of 10! Its a really good story and has amazing character designs and plot. Perfect if you love action and comedy.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Id give this one a 9 out of 10 recommendation. The manga isn't currently finished so my rating may change, but they kill off too many characters..... either way the plot is pretty good and the characters are amazing!

Tokyo Revengers: This one isn't for everyone but honestly its a 10 out of 10 for me. Love the plot a lot, but they do curse a LOT.. and its quite gruesome at times. But the characters are really wholesome and its such a good story, plus there is always something new and exciting around the corner lol.

bonus #4: Bungou stray dogs! It's so beautiful and it's really good. I love how funny it is at points as well :3

But, I feel like I took something away from Season 4 that I haven't seen many people talk about? Or any to be quite honest. And I just wondered if you had an opinion on it?

So we know the Duffers are Nerds(tm) and think that being Nerdy is like, the ultimate burden to bear apparently. But, particularly over the last two seasons I've been noticing the Superhero/marvel references, like your previous Anon said, about spiderman? Just little stuff, like Joyce and Hopper in S3 doing a Captain America and arranging a date only to have Hopper "die" before they can. All of Eleven's refs, Mikes etc, you get the point.

But I am now, 100% certain that Eleven is going to die "saving the world" and she'll get Iron Man'd.

I am absolutely positive. We caught a glimpse of it with Eddie for sure, but the sheer amount of Hero Insecurity she's had just kind of sticks out. She was supposed to die anyway in S1 so whilst everyone in their corner of the internet is banging on about MildEven being Endgame, all I can think about is actual End Game. And how I can absolutely see an El death scene on the horizon, because let's face it, she's the character that has "no place" and who "struggles for purpose" and to a GA she holds a lot of emotional capital, whislt maintaining this constant aura of other that wouldn't make her death seem totally tragic and pointless.

From a writing POV, the way the Duffers lean in terms of story telling, I am absolutely positive El will either die or be "banished" to the upside down mirroring 001.

Also, if we don't see a Red Dragon next season I'll be very surprised. All the colour coding and Will's drawing? The Red Dragon is Chaotic Evil in DnD as well so that smacks of something they would go with.

It really is hilarious in the worst way that they seem to think being a nerd is the ultimate burden to bear LOL. There is quite a bit of Marvel-esc influence this season. And El is doing the Iron Man Pose a lot this season too..., so you bringing up that she'll get Iron Man'd at the end seems like an eerie connection and possibly foreshadowing... El was supposed to die in season 1 to fulfill the E.T. parallel, and assuming they don't just keep her alive to do spin-offs, I think it's pretty likely she'll die at the end of the show. I think it's possibly her death somehow mirrors 001's "death", but I do see her having a big hero moment and sacrificing herself for her friends. I think El's death would be very emotional, but there is a narrative point to it. I love El tho and I just want to see her happy but...

I think we could see a red dragon next season too. I hope that painting was foreshadowing for something!

fluff,  angst,  or  smut:  i like all three! preference for fluff and angst but i'll plot out smut. never really wrote much of it myself but i'm open to that depending on the occasion. if i had to choose one i guess angst cuz im the best at writing that but i get bored of just one thing all the time.

plots  or  memes:  memes because my attention span is garbage and im sadly too busy to full on plot with people. i do loooovee plots but its also kinda difficult since it has a lot to do with if you and the other person vibe or not u_u would love to plot more tho

long  or  short  replies: i'll be honest. i love long so bad but it takes forever to write so i prefer like 70% short stuff and 30% long stuff. i don't like dialogue for more than goofing around. short for me is like 2-4 paragraphs and long is 5+, for reference.

This little guy!

He's can be kinda badly written tho lol cause basically his entire personality is just "lol nerd is unpopular". It's funny, the show makes an entire point about how one of Johnny's biggest problems is that he's living in the past, but the show itself lives in the past in some ways, mostly that they haven't caught up to the fact that nerd culture is mainstream now. Like, my dude Demetri here gets bullied for, um *checks notes* liking Game of Thrones? It's so stupid, he'll make a Game of Thrones reference and everyone looks at him like they think he's weird and don't know what the fuck he's talking about and I'm just here like "You're literally the weird ones here if you don't know who Daenerys Targaryen is." Then there's this moment where Daniel gets through to him about Karate by speaking in his language (aka Game of Thrones references) and Demetri looks genuinely shocked that he knows about Game of Thrones and I'm just like "OMG IT WAS LITERALLY LIKE THE BIGGEST SHOW IN THE WORLD WHEN IT WAS AIRING STOP TRYING TO GASLIGHT ME SHOW!" Also like every word out of his mouth is a reference to something nerdy, and not even good references he basically just name drops characters lol, literally no one talks like that the writers are so stupid.

I love him, though. I love him so much because I decided to. Literally I saw all these annoying decisions the writers were making that really bugged me and just said "No, I am going against my instincts and deciding to love this dude despite what happens. It shouldn't be that hard, he is a dark haired nerd after all, that's just my type." And so I love him now (see I am just like Lorelai Gilmore). He just needs a little spice. I just need to reheat him a little in my head and he'll be great. Just some minor changes shy of perfection and I decided to take on that job.

I think you could really help with joining me to perfect him with your Doctor Who angle and everything.

(+ both of us having a thing for characters who are bound to the past in some way... we are merging into the same person) I've seen my fair share of GOT btw, my mom and I used to watch it casually. (read: we were Gilmore-ing together, literally Lorelai and Rory) I feel like there's a discussion to be had about different characters and how they would be written if guided by different creators which is why fandom is such a fascinating concept to me, especially fic writing! You get to meet so many different versions of the same character and even though you might disagree with a particular interpretation, it's still kinda fun and requires brain gymnastics, dissecting why you disagree with a certain point and comparing your opinions to the opinions of others. It's pretty awesome that you saw a character and said: I see you! I think you could be great! It's such a welcoming approach to fiction and a love letter to imagination in a way. I'D BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO HELP!!!! the dresses they make and the fashion in general is really fun and pretty, I always enjoy seeing the different oufitssss (that’s a boy btw)

Yeah I totally binged this manga in a day. If you recall that review on Usotsuki Lily, I really appreciate when a manga doesn’t try to 'fix’ things about characters, instead allowing them to grow and change as people, which was one point for this manga~

The messages are varied and come from many perspectives, and I absolutely love the deep insight in the fashion world/industry. I didn’t know what I was getting into, but it was a fun and lovely read.

Though while funny at first, the frequent rants and antics of the Amars (nerd girls) were kinda tiresome, so I started skimming through them. There usually isn’t much important information, just jokes, so you can skip over them pretty easily to get back into the story.

The characters are all fun and unique, and they play off each other well. There’s some drama and love triangles/squares, but it isn’t annoying like how I usually find them. Although Kuranosuke’s long pining tugged at my heartstrings, amongst his other emotions regarding his mother and fashion. He ended up as my favourite character, but like he’s so pretty can you blame me-

The author dresses him really well too, I love seeing his outfits, especially when he’s disguising himself. That’s actually another thing, the whole manga transitioned into fashion so smoothly I was like whoa when did this become the Devil Wear Prada (for real tho lol, they reference the movie in one of the chapter titles)

But yeah, 84 chapters, give it a go. The ending was really sweet, I felt satisfied afterwards

2. I probably won’t be including any other fandoms as to not clutter it, as well as the fact I was kind going off a formula of nerd kid + his sister. No particular reason, just for a pattern ig?

The age differences between the kids r Raz- 10, Jude- like 12 (I say like as he doesn’t actually have a canon age lol), Dib- 12 like in the iz movie, and Dipper- 13. I made Dib taller to add variety to their designs when put next to each other and also because all of the kids in iz are basically the same height I thought I’d say fuck it and have some fun with it lol

(For simplicity, Ford will refer to Ford pines, and Cruller will refer to Ford Cruller lol)

As for dynamics, Jude and Dib would get along Rlly well, just kinda as an instant click type thing since they have so many similarities. They’re all definitely friends but I feel like Dipper and Jude would but heads the most. Dipper tends to be really cautious, and while Jude does exercise caution, it’s usually for more ‘nonsensical’ reasons. Jude has a more reckless idea of problem solving (ie wanting to just shoot the cultists and burn down their hideout in act 1) and that wouldn’t really sit well with Dipper lmao. Dipper also would try to like, assert himself as letter with all of his planning shit but it probably wouldn’t work that well. Jude and Dib are also the most unhinged out of the 4 so Dipper and Raz are like 🤨 a lot. Raz would get along with all of them very well, however there’d definitely be at least a little bit of “you’re like 10 how come you get to be able to do all of this cool stuff???” And the other 3 would ask him a bunch of questions constantly because “omg you’re really psychic???? Lemme take notes.” Dammek would try to lead them around or “supervise” them as like the “cool older teen friend” but he has even less common sense then the 4 of them and the worst advice— Dammek high school bullies Zim. Gaz, Frazie, and Joey would kinda just be like “ew it’s my nerd brother and his nerd friends.” But still hang out with them, Mabel on the other hand just regular hangs out with them bc she doesn’t want Dipper to go on adventures without her! The girls would get along pretty good as well, however I feel like Joey would be Kinda cold to Mabel bc she has a tendency to be a little mean to people when they’re more social or optimistic than her, but she would get over it eventually and they can talk about animals or sparkly stickers or something jfhdjdjd. Xefros is a little upset that Raz is psychic because telekinesis used to be his thing and now there’s a kid that’s like 4/5 years younger than him and better at it 😔 the 4 boys would probably follow Roxy, Ford, Sasha, and Cruller around a lot because they wanna! Do science stuff n go on adventures and missions! Stan would also try to have fun with the kids but in a Stan sorta way. Sasha would so get into an Argument w/ Prof. Membrane they would hate eachother— Any of the alien enjoyers would be SO STOKED about Dammek, Xefros, and Zim (even tho zim keeps insisting that he is, In fact, not an alien). Tbh Dammek n Xef probably already know what Irkens are and Zim probably already knows what trolls are (and would probably freak out if he found out the condensce/Betty Crocker was on earth lol) Raz and Zim also get “huh u guys sound similar” a lot (I wonder why D-: /s).
