I wholeheartedly return the sentiment ✨
Tumblr media
And I’m sorry, I’ll have to suffer the bombastic side eye after all 😩 but feel free to let me just scream into the void dear 💚🦇✨
Look I have a horrible history of getting way too attached to Jason’s goons, so this is brilliant. Even if Jason hadn’t introduced Little!Bruce as his son, it’s glaringly obvious that the kid’s got Hood wrapped around his little finger and god have mercy on anybody dumb enough to take shot at the boy, because Red Hood sure won’t. The goons quickly realize that the best way to stay alive and well with all limbs intact is by making triple sure that the Anti!Robin (he really needs a better name doesn’t he) is in peak condition at all times. They even organize day-shifts to patrol Hood’s territory to make absolutely sure that nobody takes a go at the kid should he be out and about for whatever stupid reason. They do NOT want a repeat performance of last time, thank you very much.
And omg YES, little!Bruce being keenly aware of how much power Jason has semi-accidentally give him (because he’s still a genius) and by the end of the week he’s roped a couple goons into configuring some kind of outfit-slash-armor for him. Jason thinks his whole hair might be turning white from stress when he catches the anti!robin on the fire escape one night. Little!Bruce fumes through the entirety of the ensuing lecture, but Jason still has enough authority to make him cave to rules he puts down. Partly because he knows that Jason is absolutely NOT kidding about literally tying Little!Bruce up to keep him from patrolling. It’s still Jason we’re talking about. He’s no pushover.
At this point (and let me just say I laughed so hard I started coughing at the phrase “hate boner”) Dick is furiously combing every inch of Gotham for the kid some psychopath manipulated into becoming a junior rogue. Jason thinks it’s hilarious (mostly because we haven’t gotten to the threatening-to-take-the-kid thing yet) and casually drops several hints about the kid’s identity that nobody catches, along with a healthy dose of sarcastic remarks as to how he’s manipulating and sabotaging the boy currently sitting in his apartment and eating a painstakingly put together three course menu while watching Pride and Prejudice.
Batman is also losing his mind because the Red Hood doesn’t make any sense. He kills people, but not as many as he used to only a few months prior. His movements through the Bowery are still erratic and unpredictable, but now there’s a distinct lack of risk-taking going on. Nothing makes sense. Especially the Anti!Robin that appeared seemingly overnight out of thin air. And the Joker’s death, executed in his own cell. But still, his priorities are to keep the children he has left safe, and that means he’s still going to take Hood’s threat of “clipping a little birdy’s wings” dead serious. He will never let one of his children get hurt ever again.
(Jason totally made that threat before his interdimensional trip. He’s got a wealth of other problems to deal with right now than hunt Robin through Gotham. Namely, his personal little Anti!Robin.)
And then after Little!Bruce’s declaration that Robin lives all alone in a huge manor and is living off cheap takeout and with no heat on even during winter, like you said, Jason does a friggin 180 and starts kind of—- chaperoning the meetings between Robin and Anti!Robin. From afar, at first. Just to make sure the Replacement doesn’t try anything funny with his kid. But eventually Tim catches on and tentatively tries to get to know Red Hood too and— that’s it. Jason’s a goner. He’s got a second kid now. He doesn’t make the rules.
The first time Tim comes back to the cave and tells Dick and Batman about his encounter with the two “rogues” and how they’re not so bad and that Hood even bought him a chili dog—- Dick sees red. One kid is bad enough, but now Hood is trying to corrupt slash groom Dick’s baby brother? Yeah, he’s out for blood now.
Interestingly enough it’s Bruce who chooses to put further investigation into Tim’s recount of the night (Alfred’s calm voice of reason helps) because while he’s worried to high heavens, he also trusts Tim. Tim is smart enough to know when he’s being manipulated. (Unless someone offers him hugs and affection free of charge, he’s a goner then. But Bruce isn’t aware of Tim’s home situation atm and how much it screwed with his survival instincts.)
Tim is very annoyed when all his future attempts to meet up with Hood and the Anti!Robin are hampered by an overprotective Nightwing following him at a distance. 🦅
Prompt:
Jason gets booted to another dimension and adopts a recently orphaned Bruce Wayne.
Whom he also takes along for the ride when he’s pulled back into his own dimension.

MASTERLIST ⛤ WHUMPTOBER 2024
⛤⋅•⋅⊰∙∘☽⛧☾∘∙⊱⋅•⋅⛤
Agony. Hot and bright and burning. That was the only thing you knew in that moment. The katana had pierced straight through your chest cavity, pinning you helplessly to the ground as you lay there in a pool of your own blood. You had screamed. That you were certain of. You had felt it rip your throat raw. You had cried out: but no one came. Not even your own father who was more hellbent on chasing his nemesis, Batman, through the streets of Gotham than he was with helping his own child.
You watched, clawing at your own chest as your father looked back at you. Your eyes met his. They were full of this dark and twisted insanity that no villain could rival. And sadistically, with not so much as even a glint of remorse on his face, The Joker turned on his heel and left, chasing the infamous black silhouette that you had come to loathe down the street.
You and your father had a complicated relationship. You loved him, of course. He was your father. He taught you everything you knew; trained you to be a strong fighter. But it seemed the entirety of your bonding seemed to be around Bruce Wayne and his pesky little birds. He was obsessed with being better than him. And for years you believed that he was right. That Bruce was the villain. But when your father went to Arkham things started to change. You started to realise that there was more to life than being better than everyone else. And so you began to grow apart. And so he left you when you needed him the most.
You weren’t sure how long you laid there for. But your body was beginning to grow numb. At first, the pain turned from hot to cold. Your body began to shiver against your sticky clothes. And then the cold began to take over your fingertips until you could no longer feel them. Slowly but surely you began to grow numb. To feel nothing but numb. As you stared up at the sky, the edges of your vision began to fade. You could no longer make out the edges of the skyscrapers and the neon signs, but could only see the clouds which passed in the sky above. Or atleast you thought they were clouds. There was a high possibility that it was your own vision that had clouded over and that was what you were seeing. You didn’t know anymore.
Your fingers twitched against the concrete. You had long since given up trying to pull out the offending sword instead leaving it to protrude gruesomely from between your ribs. Your fingers were covered in blood from your previous efforts though. It had cracked and dried sticky on your fingers.
The area around you was near silent. There was nothing around you besides the odd sound of a passing car in the distance. Strange for a city. But then there was the voice. One. No. Two voices. They were talking to each other. And from the volume of it whatever they were talking about was rather panicked. They seemed to be discussing something of importance. The voices began to get closer and closer and then the higher, more worried one stopped before speaking out.
“Holy shit— they’re alive-“ Damian exclaimed, slightly startled by the state you were in. He wasn’t sure why. He was the one who had driven the katana through your chest in the first place. He hadn’t meant to do so much damage. The guilt had been eating away at him since the minute he heard the scream leave his throat. Batman had one rule that Damian was actually keen to follow. No killing unless you absolutely have to. He could tell that you weren’t really invested in the fight. Your punches were lacking their usual sharpness and you only seemed to be on the defence. Damian had noticed that about you recently. You weren’t too keen on helping your father. And he wanted to know more. He had witnessed firsthand the gaze your father had shot you before he left. And he hadn’t practically begged Dick to come back here and look for you.
“Holy shit….” Dick breathed out taking in the scene around him.
A gentle tap on the side of your face and Damian was in front of you. His hands came up to your neck, feeling for a pulse. It was incredibly slow and weak but there none the less. “Their pulse is slow.”’
“I’ll call medical. See if you can get them to respond to you.” Dick said before stepping away for a moment to contact medical.
“Hey….can you hear me?” Damian asked you.
You blinked at him slowly and tried to move your lips but no words came out. Instead a trail of blood dribbled from your lips.
Damian panicked. “Okay. Okay. Don’t try to talk, save your strength. We- we’re going to get you help.” Damian could hardly take his eyes off you his katana. How it poked sickeningly from your chest, wedged between your ribs. He couldn’t understand why he was was even bothering to help you. You were the enemy. But you were also human too.
“Medics are on their way” Dick confirmed. “Did you get her to respond?”
Damian just simply shook his head, but Dick had figured as much. “We just gotta keep her awake until the medics arrive. They should be here soon.”
Damian bit his lip anxiously. “Alright….”
Before you knew it there were sirens. Loud and obnoxious they pierced their way through your ears. And then you were surrounded my medics and a world of pain before being carted off into the back of an ambulance.
When you awoke you were greeted by the sterile lights off the hospital as well  as very worried looking Damian.
“You’re awake.” He said, moving closer to you the moment he saw your eyes open.
You blinked “and you saved my life…..”
“Well….after I stabbed you….” He mumbled sheepishly.
“Why did you help me…?” you asked hoarsely.
Damian's face twisted as he thought for a moment.  “You didn’t deserve to die. I couldn’t just leave you there after your father–”
Ah shit. Your father. He had left you for dead. You certainly weren’t going back to him now….  “Right.”
He frowned, noting your upset. “Hey. Don’t worry about it. Just focus on healing right now. We’ll sort it out.”
“You don’t have to help me.”
“I know. But I want to.”

Hi! I saw your requests were open, so I was wondering if you could write a yandere batfam where they kidnap the reader, but the reader is like, super chill about it, and the family’s reaction to this. Tysm!
🪼 anon
A Gentle Place to Land (Yandere! Batfam x Accepting! GN Reader)
Content warning: yandere themes, obsession, mentions of mental illness, mentions of loss of personal anatomy and drugging. Etc.
Tumblr media
A gentle breeze caresses you, the sunlight a gentle kiss.
Here, you could experience such a thing. A thing so close to tranquility you would almost dare to say it was. Most, if ever put in your situation, would be losing their minds. Panicking. Begging and pleading with all they could to try and change their fate. To escape.
You knew such a thing wasn't possible. You knew it from the night they had taken you. Looking into the shadowy eyes of the cowl, before the dart had punctured the tender place below your ear and the drugs entered your system, turning the world dark and dreamless.
You knew. If not the fates, they had decided and that was more than you could fight.
But it was a lot better than it had seemed.
At first, it was a ploy. Trick your captors into believing you're not going to do anything stupid and build repor to get them attached so that they won't do anything too bad to you. Hopefully, gaining their trust enough to plot an escape and succeed.
Just like those movies and true crime TV shows you've seen; comply and wait it out, wait for your chance at freedom.
Your feelings started getting mixed up really soon after. Had you forgotten about what Stockholm Syndrome was or had you been blind to the truth in the first place?
Maybe it really wasn't that bad...
· · ─────── ·𖥸· ─────── · ·
An almost comically large sunhat place over top your head, feet propped up on the end of the chair and a cold drink in hand. You didn't even care for the sets of eyes lingering on you, you were used to strange people giving you strange looks as you went about your day in Gotham.
They know this isn't a normal person's reaction and they're worried, most waiting for this little peace to be completely discarded once the shock of the situation passes and you truly understand what has happened. Others are trying to pick apart your phycology to see if maybe, just maybe, something really is different up in that head of yours.
You? Well, you're just sipping on your cool drink before the heat makes the ice melt. You don't want Alfred's signature juice cocktail (non-alcoholic, of course, because you'll probably never be seeing a drop of that in your life again) to get watered down and ruined.
"Are we sure we didn't give then to much of that— um," Tim stalled for a moment, giving your impartial face a once over before deciding the trajectory of his sentence. "—sleeping medicine? Maybe it messed with their nervous system or something?"
"I hate to admit it but I think Drake is onto something here. I mean, who in their right mind would ever submit to this tomfoolery? Willingly being stuck with you all? Father and I, I can understand, but—"
"I never thought you'd ever agree with Tim," Jason grinned, making Damian's face turn sour.
Dick moved behind your seat, leaning down and squishing your face between his hands.
"Nothing's wrong with them!"
You gave a bright, closed eye smile that only served to further concern the man watching from the nearby window.
His butler placed a hand on his shoulder when he gave an exhausted sigh. Although, the makings of a smile did seem to tug at the corners of his lips.
"I'll make another therapy appointment, Master Bruce."
Should he be concerned about your nonchalant appearance or was it just your nature? Has some trauma happened to you previously to make you this way? Was it a trick that he was just having trouble seeing through?
Or was he overthinking this all again? Instead of overthinking it and coming up with more safety measures and plans to keep all the way he envisioned, he should be out there with his kids.
Even if it was just all a trick, there was no way you could manage to outsmart or outrun all six of them.
Bruce shook his head, sitting his drink down on the counter and heading towards the door.
"Don't bother."

The boy had fallen out of the sky. To be more exact, he had fallen out of a portal that had opened in the sky. He then proceeded to land face first next to Batman. As he looked up to see everyone gathering around him, he tried to speak. It was a weird cacophonous sound, a garble that was a mix between static and echoes. Everyone covered their eyes and Nightwing yelled out, "We can't understand you!"
Just like that the cacophony stopped. Everyone uncovered their ears as the boy whispered, "Sorry."
Now that he was sitting up, they were able to get a good look at him. The boy from had Lazarus green eyes and starch white hair that did not obey gravity. His body also has an ethereal glow to it. Everything was a blur after that. They ended up bringing the boy back to the cave when they noticed he was bleeding profusely. Batman wanted to bring him to a hospital instead but he got so panicked when that idea was mentioned and looked like he was about to bolt, so the cave it was.
The boy had barely maintained consciousness as he babbled on about getting away from someone and hoping they would let him stay for a few days to recover. As he rambled, Alfred began peeling back his styled hazmat suit to reveal everyone a sickening Y shaped scar running down his torso which oozed a distinct green color. Alfred had patched him up as quickly and steadily as possible, being guided through how to do it from the boy himself. Apparently whatever his physiology was, it didn't work like a human's. Soon after he was patched up, the boy (Danny as they found out) lost consciousness.
The boy in front of them completely changed after white rings had formed around him. His white hair was now raven black, his skin had taken on a healthy tan, his stylized suit had become a T-shirt and jeans, his blood turned red. By all accounts, this was not the same unknown they had just saved. Unless?
"Do you think he's similar to the Martians?" Tim asked.
Everyone turned to him, their gears already turning. Nevertheless, Batman spoke. "Explain," he said.
"Well you know, how they can change themselves to blend in. And he was talking about hiding from someone. What if he, I don't know, decided to just try to blend in with us."
Dick piped up next. "I mean, considering how many of us are running around, it wouldn't be hard. And look at his face. It's the perfect mix of all of us. He probably decided the best way to fit in would be to look a little bit like all of us. It'd be the best way to throw off his pursuer."
"Or pursuers," Jason cut in.
"And how can we be sure he stopped at just faces?" Damian inquired.
Now everyone was looking at him.
The former assassin puffed out his chest but it was clear from the slight rigidness of his stance that he didn't like everyone's attention on him.
"Tch. I am simply stating that if he truly wanted to blend in with us, he might as well copy our mannerisms as well. He has already copied our speech."
That was true. He had easily switched his speech once Dick had started talking. Of course they couldn't rule out the potential that he had simply known the language beforehand but considering how many aliens Earth got that could instantly adopt a new language, the former theory held more ground.
"Hmm. That may be true. Naturally we'll do our best to hide him from any pursuers. But-"
"Don't you mean you'll do your best to convince him to let you adopt him?" Steph interrupted with a cheeky grin.
"But," Bruce continued on, "we will need to make sure he doesn't imprint on us too much. We'll encourage him to be his own person and try out things that he enjoys so that when all of this is over, he can live independently of us. That being said, I want you all on your best behavior. We want to try to ingrain as many healthy behaviors into him as possible. That means no threats, no violence, no unhealthy sleeping habits, and no extreme intakes of coffee. And I clear?"
There were various mumbles and groans throughout the group and one particularly indignant squawk from Tim. "I said am I clear?" Bruce repeat. The group answered yes in unison. "Good. Then dismissed."
Everyone filed out of the cave one by one. Some went back to their own home and safehouses. Some hit the showers. And some headed straight upstairs. Finally there was only Bruce left. He looked down at Danny still sound asleep on the table. Making sure this boy was protected and cared for for while also making sure he didn't get too attached and therefore dependent on everyone was better said than done. Still, Bruce would make it happen, after all, he was Batman.
I got this idea from the lovely @damngirlidk . Truly a great idea.

Batfam finding out Tim has a partner they didn't know? I'm talking like a year at most. 👀 He wasn't even trying to keep them in the dark, it just never came up(his words) and his partner, hilariously I imagine, gets along w damian well.
Since When?! Tim Drake x Reader
Tumblr media
wc: 0.8 K summary: Batfam finds out Tim has a partner warnings: none, no y/n used a/n: have fun reading it, I tried my best to make it entertaining and not cringe at the same time. enjoy!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Laying in Tim‘s arms after a stressful week always felt like heaven. It was safe and soft, wrapped up in his familiar scent and getting to hug and squeeze him as much as you want. Usually, you don‘t worry about some of his family members walking in on you two cuddling up on his bed, and neither did you today. It was as normal as ever. However, when you heard some sounds from downstairs you tensed up. Tim soothed you by rubbing your back and whispering some reassurance to you. Internally, Tim was panicking.
Nothing ever is happening around the Manor, so why would something be happening now? Bruce should be in the batcave or somewhere else, Alfred is minding his business and there shouldn‘t be anyone else in the house… unless someone decided to pay a surprise visit.
»Hey, Timmy!«
The door swings open and his eldest brother appears in the doorframe, making you tense again and freeze in your partners arms. Dick also freezes and realises that this is a private moment he just interrupted. A private and intimate moment between his younger brother and, most likely his partner.
He straightens up and clears his throat, still standing in the doorframe for some reason.
»Uh, Tim? I… I should get going, huh?«
An almost awkward chuckle leaves Dick before he quickly closes the door with a slam and makes his way downstairs in a new speed record.
All you can hear is a yell from outside and the heavy footsteps of his brother. It‘s muffled but you can still hear it from Tim‘s room.
And a moments later, there are more sounds and more yells, and screams errup from outside the room.
Embarrassed, you sit up and lean off of Tim, looking both confused and slightly scared.
»Was this your brother?«
»You are about to meet the rest of them.«
He mutters back and also sits up with a sigh. You watch him run his hand through his hand tiredly, assuming this will get more chaotic than it already is.
»Is this your date?!«
The door literally slams open again with more force this time and there stands a blonde haired girl, excitement and curiousity written all over her face and body language.
Tim cringes beside you, his ears growing increasingly more red.
»That‘s… my partner.«
He admits and rubs the back of his neck, revealing your relationship with him. The jaw of the girl goes slack and she runs away to probably collect the rest of the siblings.
Moments later, the room is packed with all his siblings and they are too curious for their own good. Some teasing questions drop but also more personal questions aimed at you. You try your best to answer them all and won‘t let anyone get left out on accident.
The most asked question was probably, »Since when are you two even together?« and, »Why didn‘t you tell me?!« aimed at Tim.
He really tried to step in and explain it all calmly, but they didn‘t let him. It was amusing, seeing them interrupting each other and talking over each other some times, as well as straight up ignorimg Tim and only focusing on you. All of his siblings are pretty unique in their own way, everyone seems to be alike but also completely different at the same time.
One sticked out in particular and it was the youngest of them all. Damian, you soon found out after Tim insulted him for asking an annoying question.
He seems to be chill. Genuinely.
Even when it seems like he and Tim have a rocky relationship, he doesn‘t seem to be all that bad. Just a little teasing, but that‘s it.
The visits from now on where a little more entertaining. Every time you entered the manor, someone else than Tim greeted you. Once it was Alfred, then it was Stephanie, before Damian seemed to be the regular person who greets you when you step inside.
Surprisingly for Tim, you two get along pretty well. Tim has a theory that Damian is pretending to be all nice and friendly with you just to piss him off even more. It would make sense, but you don‘t believe in it.
»I am telling you, he does it on purpose! He is never friendly to anyone else except Alfred. Hell, he can get hissy with him too, sometimes!«
»Yeah, I don‘t believe you. He seems like a normal kid to me.«
You shrug casually and it makes Tim even more exhausted. Just… why does it have to be Damian? You could be besties with Dick or even Jason, but Damian is just another level of disrespect.
»Just say you don‘t love me anymore...«
Tim grumbles back after a moment and turns away from you on the bed, his back facing you now.
»Wait— no, I didn‘t mean it like that— «
Tumblr media
a/n: In short, I think he would be offended at first and just even more annoyed than before around the Batfamily, but it'll settle eventually. Slowly, but eventually.

How To Balance Your Daytime and Nighttime Activities So That You Don't Burn Yourself Out More Than You Already Have
"Hey, Babs,"
"Dick? It's late, what's wrong?"
"Nothing's wrong!"
"I'm about to go on patrol, D, can this wait?"
A sigh. "No."
"What's wrong?"
"Blockbuster's after Oracle."
***
Gotham Proper is a thirty-three minute drive from Bludhaven. The drive to Bristol from Bludhaven is a fifty-one minute drive through Drescher, Burnside, Sumerset, Victoria Place, and Little Stockton before crossing the bridge over Gotham River into Bristol. Gotham Proper is made of four islands connected to each other and the mainland via several bridges. Technically, all of those cities and towns - as well as Charon and Brentwood - are sister cities like Bludhaven, but everyone counts them as a part of Gotham anyway.
Dick spent the entire drive alternating between sulking and panicking.
Danny would know. Ghosts, as he's come to understand, are beings made of emotion, meaning that he can sense emotions better than living beings. Though, he didn't need an empth ability to read the air around Dick.
'What if something happens while we're gone?" Dick asked for the nth time in the past few minutes, "What if Brutale decides to blow something up while I'm gone? What if Blockbuster starts something big?"
"Bigger than what he's already doing?" Danny didn't bother to look up from his conversation with Tim. "The fact that you can't even name specific examples proves that you're not actually worried about Blockbuster or Brutale."
"I'm worried about Brutale blowing something up, thank you very much."
"Yeah, 'something'. Who even is Brutale anyway? I don't think I know that name."
"No one you need to worry about." He moved into the right lane.
Danny turned his phone off and set it face down on his leg. "What are you really worried about, Dick? I've known you for five weeks now, and I've never seen you this worried about anything."
"You've known me for three weeks."
"No, you've known me for three weeks. I've known you for five weeks. And don't change the subject."
Dick sighed, running his left hand through his hair before dropping it back onto the steering wheel.
"Is it Bruce?"
"...yeah."
"You know he's at work, right?"
"Yeah, I- How do you know that?"
He waved his phone a bit. "I checked with Tim. So, it's just going to be Tim and Alfred at the Manor when we get there."
"You know Alfred?"
"I know of Alfred." Danny slapped his right shoulder, "Stop trying to change the subject!"
"I can't help it! Deflecting has worked pretty damn well for me up until this point!"
"Oh, yeah? Against who?"
"Literally everyone!"
"Everyone?"
A beat. "Okay, so maybe only most people, but that's not the point!"
"Doesn't matter what your point is because we're going back to talking about mine!" He huffed. "If you don't want to go straight to Wayne Manor, then stop by somewhere else. You had to have gained at least one friend in Gotham before you moved to Bludhaven."
Dick paused for a moment, eyeing the signs. They'd only been driving for twenty minutes. He could hang a right just before Sumerset to cross the New Trigate Bridge into Arkham Island, take another right onto Midtown and drive to Old Gotham to meet Babs/. Yeah, that'd be nice. But, the detour would increase the chance of running into Bruce later on in the day. Maybe he could have Bab's drive to the Manor?
"Is it too late to turn around?"
"Yes."
"Why are you even so insistent on going? You don't know anyone in Gotham!"
"I know Tim!" He argued. "Besides, healthy relationships are good in this kind of work."
Dick raised his eyebrow, glancing at Danny from the corner of his eye. "You wanna second to rethink that or..?"
Danny clicked his tongue. "Look, I know you don't want to talk to Bruce, and I'm not asking you to. I'm asking you to apologize to Tim for snapping at him. If you end up with better relations here in Gotham, then that only works in your favor."
Dick groaned, ditching the turn onto New Trigate and continuing on through Sumerset. "Fine! But we're leaving before Bruce gets back. I can't stand him right now."
Danny smiled, a sad look in his eye. "Alright."
He knew very well that Dick's relationship was near irreparable. From what he'd gathered, from either overhearing or snooping, Bruce had been a pretty good dad and boss to Dick up until he'd turned seventeen. He hung up the Robin mantle when he was eighteen, appearing as Nightwing when he was nineteen. Bruce, apparently, hadn't taken this very well, but copped, adopint ong Jason Todd when Dick was twenty years old, giving him the Robin mantle a few months later.
According to Dick, when Jason was killed, he'd been off world. Bruce hadn't even called him to inform him, let alone tell him about the funeral. And, when Dick got back and heard what happened from Batgirl, he'd confronted Batman in the Batcave. Batman, apparently, though he's inclined to Dick's side, punched him the face and shifted the blame.
Danny doesn't blame Dick for being angry. Not for a second. He can't really relate, but he understands.
Entering Bristol, there was a shift in the air. Outside was stuffy and smelled like money. Inside the car, however, was tense. Dick's attitude shifted to his work smile. It was plastic.
This was going to be a long day.
He didn't say anything. Quietly, Danny messaged Tim, letting him know about the shift. Tim was quick to respond, letting Danny know that he was fully prepared for whatever was coming. Danny didn't think he was.
Danny knew that something was going to happen. The air was suddenly suffocating, the world fake manufactured to perfection.
"You alright there, bud?" Dick asked, his voice perfectly professional.
"Yeah, fine. I-I'm fine." Danny wanted this car to turn around.

Kinktober Day Eighteen: Squirting Ruhn Danaan x Female Reader
You entered Bryce’s apartment not noticing who all was there and plopped down on her couch. Head resting on the back of the couch with your eyes closed, “I hate men.” You muttered, to which she laughed.
Eyes still closed, “Bryce, I hate all men. Males too, because they talk all this shit and then just… nothing.”
You take a deep breath before letting out a sigh, “They talk all this shit.“ You begin to mock in a deep voice.“Oh, baby, I’m gonna ruin everyone else for you… When I’m done with you, you won’t be able to walk for a week. I’m gonna make you cum so hard that you squirt.”
“Y/n.” Bryce called trying to get your attention but you kept going.
“Like seriously how fucking hard is it for them to even find a fucking clit, it’s right there but no they want to rub my fucking thigh. And then be all up in my ear “you like that baby ?” No I don’t.”
“Y/n.” Bryce tried again a little louder.
But you weren’t finished. “They swear they can make you cum, that they’ll make you squirt as if they’re some sex god. But not one guy has ever made me cum let alone squirt. Fucking useless pieces-“
“Y/N !” Bryce screamed, finally getting you to look at her.
“What ?” You looked at her confused and then she bursted out laughing. You finally noticed that Hunt, Ithan, Tharion, Declan, Tristan and Ruhn had all heard your rant.
They all stared at you wide eyed and mouths agape, except Ruhn. Ruhn was looking at you with furrowed brows and his bottom lip between his teeth.
You shrugged, “I said what I said.” None of them argued with you and Bryce was now wheezing.
Ruhn cleared his throat before asking “So you’ve never-“
Looking him dead in his eyes, “Did I stutter ?”
“No.”
You were about to tell Bryce that it wasn’t that funny when you got a text from a shifter you met at the White Raven the other night, saying they would meet you there in 15 minutes. That was all it took for you to hug Bruce goodbye and glare at the males as you walked out.
You heard her apartment door open and then close while walking into the elevator, you already knew who it was. “What, Ruhn ?”
“Where are you going ?”
Sighing, you responded, “Home.” He leaned back against the elevator, standing next to you, “I’ll walk you.” You turned to him, panicked, not wanting him to know you were gonna hook up with someone. “No it’s okay, I’ll be fine. Thanks though.”
“Don’t worry about it, it’s on my way home.” Fuck, you two did live near each other and the White Raven was in the opposite direction. “I’m gonna go home… just not right now.”
“Where are you going ?”
You turned to look at him and he met your gaze, then he looked down at your lips before meeting your eyes again. “The White Raven.” You looked away and didn’t say anything else as you walked out of the elevator and out of the complex heading towards the night club.
Then you felt him grip your arm, spinning around so you were face to face, a hair's breadth away. “Don’t go with him, I could do all the shit that he never could.” You searched his eyes, trying to find a lie or a hint of it but found none. “Please.”
You simply nodded your head and followed him back to his house, the both of you were silent the entire way.
As soon as you walked through the door his lips were on yours. It was all teeth and tongue, the whole way up to his bedroom. You both pulled back to take off your clothes and then as soon as both of you were bare your lips were on each other again.
He walked you backwards till the back of your knees hit his bed and then he laid you down and kissed from your lips to your jaw. Down your neck, chest, and tummy before teasingly nipping at your inner thighs.
“Ruhn.” His name was a breathy moan as you tried moving to get his mouth where you needed it. Thighs rubbing together for some friction.
Ruhn, tsked at you, then used his shadows to restrain you and keep your legs spread for him. He ran a single finger through your wet folds, “Ruhn please.”
You were about to start begging when he licked a stripe up your soaked cunt, moaning onto you at the taste of you on his tongue.
Crying out as he flicked his tongue with precision against your swollen clit. “Oh fuck.” you whimpered, hips bucking against his shadows. “Fuck, Ruhn.”
Then he started sucking on your clit and your legs started shaking. “Don’t stop, Please, don’t stop.” You cried out. “I’m just getting started, Sweetheart.” He purred into your mind. Not even a minute later you reached your peak, not even noticing that you squirted on his face.
He sat back up with a feral grin on his face covered in your juices. Licking his lips, moving to pumping his length a couple times before lining it up with your entrance.
Still breathless as he slid into you and let you adjust to his size before snapping his hips against yours. Moving at an inhumanely pace as he fucked you like his life depended on it, fingers digging into your hips as he panted softly. “Fuck- I can feel you clenching my cock already. Gonna squirt for me again, sweet girl ?”
You choked out a sob as he moved one of his hands from your hips to your clit, rubbing tight circles. “Let go. I can fuck- I can feel you squeezing me.” He growled.
Screaming out his name as you squirted on him for the second time within 10 minutes. You were panting when he captured your lips in a hungry kiss and murmured against them, “Give me more.”

How would the yandere Batfamily react if reader got sick? Maybe reader ends up so fevered that they start crying if someone isn’t holding them because they don’t understand what’s going on.
Boy oh boy do I love this ask!
Enjoy!
Warnings: altered mental states, overprotectiveness, paranoia, and captivity. Also medical stuff (the use of liquid IV to rehydrate, as well as pills to reduce a fever)
There’s a cool hard carding through your hair and it’s so much better than the cold tile beneath you. The tile was great, sure, but it was hard and uncomfortable and not nearly as nice as the way the hand brushes back your hair and presses against your forehead.
You groan, and blink your eyes open. Dick is kind of fuzzy above you, and his face is twisted in worry, making you want to reach up and wipe that worry away. You manage to weakly push yourself up, before a strong arm supports you, holding you up and keeping you steady. You decide you like that, and hum, the sound a little cracked because of how much your throat hurt.
“Oh, god..”
Dick murmurs, and he sounds almost panicked as he presses a cool hand to your forehead.
“Let’s get you to Alfie, yeah? You’re burning up, Y/N.”
He hums, and strong arms hoist you up, cradling you against an even stronger chest. You sigh, snuggling into the embrace, and you hear that huffy laughter Dick gives when he’s trying not to be mean but finds something funny. Or cute. Could be both.
“How come you aren’t this snuggly without the fever, huh?” He teases, and you’re vaguely aware of the sensation of movement, which makes your stomach twist and churn. He notices.
“Just hold on a little longer, okay? Then you’ll feel so much better.” The man soothes, and at some point, there’s a new body next to you, walking alongside Dick, silent and small but comforting.
It’s Cass. You blink at her, exhausted, and she gives you a gentle smile. You liked Cass, out of all your siblings, she was one of the best. She didn’t crowd you, or demand things you couldn’t give. She could be cuddly, and it was nice when she was, because she always knew when you were upset and tired and frustrated.
You reach out to grab her hand, and she takes it. They’re just as cool as Dick’s, like ice on your fevered skin, and you sigh. Her thumb soothes over the back of your hands, over the delicate bones there, and you hum.
When Dick sets you down, there’s immediately a distressed sound trying to escape your throat, something between a sob and a yell, and Cass is suddenly there, wrapping you up in cool arms. Cass was much closer to your size, and it was nice.
“You’re okay. We won’t leave.” She assures.
You sigh, glad that someone was with you when your body ached and your head was pounding. You lean into the coolness of her embrace, and she runs her fingers through your hair, gently untangling it the best she could. You thought that wasn’t the best idea, since you felt sweaty and gross, but she didn’t seem to mind and the feeling was too nice to really protest.
There’s a prick in your arm.
When you turn your head, the needle is already gone, and you wonder just how long it had taken for your fevered brain to register it.
“Crap. Cass, can you..?”
Cass is pressing something to your lips before Dick finishes, and you take the pill without even thinking about it. A liquid, vaguely sweet, follows it. It’s practically heaven on your parched throat.
“How are they?”
It’s the first time you hear Bruce’s voice all day, and he buries his hands in your hair, not seeming to mind that it was sweaty and kind of gross. You practically melt into the gentleness of it.
“Has their fever gone down any? Have they had enough fluids?”
He questions, even as he moves around you, reaching for things you can’t see and don’t bother looking at. Bruce never risked your health, and your head hurt too much to really care.
“Cass have them some fever reducers and liquid IVs.” Dick hums. “We just administered it, and we’re monitoring their temperature.”
Bruce hums, and you blink when Cass slips away, and you make a distressed noise, tears springing to your eyes. You felt wrung out and exhausted, so when
Bruce is there instantly, wiping the sweat from your face with a damp cloth, and you lean into it, breathing out a sigh of relief. It felt so much better than even Cass’s cuddles, or Dick’s cool hands.
“You’re going to feel better in a little bit. Just hang in there.” He assures gently, and you nod. You trusted Bruce. Or, with this at least. It was hard not to, with the worried gleam in his eyes and the way he held you so gently.
“Why can’t you be this cuddly healthy, huh, baby bat?”
Dick asks, and there’s a tiny pinch in your arm. You cringe at the sensation and he makes an apologetic noise.
“Sorry, sorry, that’s the I.V. We just need to get some fluids in ya, mkay? And bring the fever down.”
You nod, and Bruce runs his hand through your hair again, fixing the strands.
You sigh, drifting off, confident they wouldn’t leave your side.

Can i request a gn!reader who’s been trained to be a weapon most of their life so they’re not really good with feelings? They’ve been adopted by the batfamily and they get hurt on a mission, they hide and stuff but dick or Jason (maybe both?) finds out, and like kinda scold them for not saying anything and ask why they would keep this a secret. The reader replies something ‘I just didn’t think it was a big deal’ IT WAS A BIG DEAL. So it’s just fluff and angst😇. You can end it with them having a movie night after patching reader up to feel better? You can change somethings up if it crosses your boundaries! <3

You pressed yourself up against the rough alley wall, clutching your side in pure pain as tears threatened to fall down your face.
You squinted your eyes shut and gritted your teeth to hold back a grutal scream of pain and slid down the wall.
You were just out on patrol, as usual, when you heard various voices, laughter, and whines from the very same alley you layed in now; soaked in your own blood.
Without a second thought, you dove down into the alleyway. You immediately realized what was going on.
There were five men surrounding what seemed to be a puppy with various wounds.
You frowned. Damian would not have been happy if he saw this.
The men turned to look at you and you could tell some of them were panicked while the rest simply smirked and stared you down.
A large fight ensued between you and three of the men while the other two stood by and watched while also making sure the puppy wouldn't escape.
You took note of this and kicked down one of the men I the direction of the other two, causing him to stumble back, bringing the two with him.
The puppy escaped but you couldn't.
Soon they were all fighting you, and it was a bit too much for you to handle.
They kicked you over and over on your sides, punched you, spat at you, and even stabbed you.
You barely won the fight, and now you stared down at their bloody, unconscious bodies in pure hatred.
You couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed and upset with yourself.
Since the moment you were born, you were trained to be a weapon similar to Damian.
You absolutely hated it and you were more than happy when Bruce took you in, but you still felt ashamed any time you were beat in a fight.
You remember how your parents used to severely punish you any time you'd fail a mission or training.
They never held back when it came to your punishments. Even when you were a toddler.
They'd punch and kick you just like the men had and you fucking hated it.
You hated how it brought you back to those dark memories and you hated how it reminded you that you'd never fully recover from it.
Your new family always tried to convince you that'd things were different now; that you were safe.
You'd always try to believe them but there was always that lingering feeling that you were never good enough.
There was always a tiny little voice that screamed and yelled at you about how useless, weak, and annoying you were.
There was always that little voice that told you how much of a burden you were to your new and old family.
But that wasn't the problem right now.
The problem right now was how you'd get back to the batcave/manor without getting caught and interrogated by Bruce or any one of your other family members.
You scouted out for an idea in your head when you finally got one.
Damian, Bruce, and Tim were still out on patrol and Jason and Dick weren't even in the city.
So all you had to do was walk in through the front door with your spare key and pray that Alfred wasn't going to see you.
'Perfect ', you thought.
Tumblr media
You searched for your keys in your pocket until you finally got them.
Bruce gave it to you the first time you arrived a couple months ago, claiming that it'd help keep you safe.
You never really understood what he meant but you didn't really mind.
You sloppily fit the key into the whole and twisted it until you heard the familiar click of the door unlocking.
You cracked the door open and peeked in to see if anybody was around, and thankfully, there wasn't.
You fully pushed the door in and stepped in.
Closing the door behind you, you propelled yourself towards the grand stairs.
You immediately froze in your tracks when you heard two muffled voices coming closer towards your direction.
Who could that be? Nobody except aflred was home and these were two voices.
'Was it an intruder? ' You thought and immediately got into your fighting stance, fists up, ready to fight.
The voices inched closer and closer when you realized they sounded familiar, but you couldn't quite put your finger on it.
You held your stance when the owners of the voice stepped into your field of vision.
'Fuck! ' You immediately began panicking when you realized who it was. Dick and Jason.
They were about to ask you a question when you beat them to it. "What the fuck are you doing here!?".
"We should be asking you that" Jason retorted and you rolled your eyes.
You went back to your normal stance, trying to ignore the painful sting in your feet and arms.
Dick ignored Jason and turned you, signaling you to answer first.
You sighed in annoyance and began explaining your lie you made up on the way here. "I forgot my batarangs and came back here to get them".
They both gummed and not-so-subtly glanced at one another, clearly looking through your plain lie.
"Your lying," Jason stated plainly, "Tell us the truth"
But you completely ignored and asked once again; "now what are you two doing here?".
They frowned.
"If we tell you, will you tell us the truth?" Dick asked and you thought for a second.
You were already in too deep— there was no coming back.
So, you reluctantly nodded your head in agreement.
"Bruce called us in for an emergency meeting." Jason said plainly. "There. Now tell us the truth".
You hung your head low and noticed how your hands seemed to have had a seizure from all the shaking it was doing.
You felt as if they'd yell and punish your if you told them the truth. You knew that wasn't the case; you knew they weren't like that, but you couldn't help it.
Tears threatened to come falling down when you thought of another lie. Hopefully theyd believe you this time.
"I felt a bit tired and decided to come back early." You said a bit too quickly. "Goodnight" you murmered before rushing up the stairs and to your room.
They called after you to come back but you only ignored them and sped up.
Excruciating pain shot through your body with every step you took, but you couldn't care less.
Your hand barely touched the door handle when another one put a hand over yours, stopping you from opening the door anymore.
You looked up and saw Jason, jaw clenched as he stared into your soul.
Feeling a small bit of pressure on your shoulder, you looked and saw yet another big, rough hand rested upon your shoulder. Dick.
You shrinked the longer they stared at you until one of them spoke.
"What happened" Jason asked once again, voice as cold as his stare. Actually, he wasn't even asking, he was demanding.
You gulped and your eyes darted around the room but was quickly interrupted by another deep voice.
"Answer the question" Dick said coldly and you knew that there was no going back now.
You let go of the handle with a shaky breath and turned to face the two of them. Their arms were crossed as they stared down at you and you swore you felt tiny little bugs crawling up and down your entire body.
"D-do you promise not to be mad?" You asked in a small, shaky voice.
They were a bit taken back for a second but quickly recovered; hoping you didn't see their faces.
"Of course not" Dick reassured.
You still felt a bit uneasy about telling them what actually happened but you knew they'd never actually judge you.
"I was attacked by 5 men during patrol. I was trying to fight them off but I wad too weak," tears were now falling out your eyes and down your face. "I'm sorry" your voice was small like a mouse at the end.
Their icey gazes immediately warmed up as they began trying to reassure you.
"It's okay, there's no need to apologize" dick said as he brought his hands up to wipe your tears away with the pads of his thumb.
He held your face between both his hands and you couldn't help but lean into the unfamiliar touch.
"Are you hurt?" Jason asked
"Yeah... just a bit".
"Why did you tell us?" Jason asked in what seemed to be a hurt voice.
"I didn't think it was a big deal" you admitted sheepishly and dug your face more into Dicks hands as if trying to hide from your emberasment.
The truth was the complete opposite.
You knew it was a big deal but you didn't want to bother or burden anybody— especially not your brothers— with your wounds.
It was fucking painful but you thought you could patch yourself up.
You didn't need any help, right?
Right.
They were completely and utterly shocked— what do you mean no big deal!? This was a huge deal to them.
"What do you mean 'no big deal'!?" Jason asked, almost mockingly.
Dick scowled and sent him a glare, signaling at him to shut up.
A huge wave of guilt washed over Jason, but he didn't show it. "Sorry" he mumbled sheepishly.
"C'mon, let's take you to the medical room" he whispered into your ear as he lead you down the stairs and towards the batcave.
They placed you onto the small bed and in the bright florescent light, they could tell your injuries were definitely more than a big deal.
Blood covered your mask and suit. They could tell your leg especially hurt considering most of the blood came from there and your abdomen.
They didn't even understand how you even managed to walk— let alone up the stairs.
"Get me the med-kit" Jason demanded, pointing at Dick then the nearby meditation.
He was back in a flash with the med-kit and set it down beside you.
Jason opened it immediately and pulled out all the materials he needed.
Jason was always better when it came to patching up wounds compared to Dick. It was mostly because Jason got more hurt than Dick did during patrol, even though he'd never admit it.
His hands were fast but gentle as he began patching you up.
You had a high pain tolerance, so it only stang when he pressed the alcohol against your wounds.
Once he was finally done, he put away all the materials and turned to face you along with Dick.
You had since stopped crying and began pushing yourself off of the bed, standing up to your full length.
"Thank you" you mumbled, barely loud enough for them to hear.
They nodded and you began making your way towards the door when the stopped you.
"Hey" Dick said and you turned to look at him. You signaled for him to continue and he did, "you're not alone. You can always reach out to me or anybody else for help, okay?"
You nodded your head in agreement and they both smiled.
"Good."
.
I'm not really happy with this one but oh well, I hope at least you enjoyed

She gasped.
And every head–four of them, all men–turned to look at her.
Instincts kicked in and y/n immediately shoved her phone into her pocket so as not to lose it and turned to flee.
Only to smack into something a lot like a brick wall.
She stumbled back, fear kicking her heart into high gear. She hadn’t even run yet and her breaths were quick, panicked. She was almost literally stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Before her was a towering figure cloaked in shadows and some sort of armor. He was menacing, dark, huge. Her throat went dry as he took a single, heavy step forward. Half of his face was covered by a mask that made her think of a black skull with two sharp points at the top. She didn’t notice the split second of shock on his face when he first laid eyes on her.
The Batman.
It shamed her to admit that she whimpered. Her body was in the thick of fight or flight, but there were men with guns behind her and a demon of a man before her. She had nowhere to flee. Despite what the waitress had told her not ten minutes earlier, she was afraid.
But Batman stepped to the side, his focus now on the men behind her, and said in a voice made of gravel and smoke, “Run.”
Y/n ran.
She ran until her lungs threatened to burst, until her knees wanted to give out, until all of her muscles were screaming, until her chocolate chip pancakes threatened to come back up. She took several turns and doubled back to make sure she hadn’t been followed.
Then she stumbled inside the blessedly safe lobby of Wayne Tower.
The security guard looked up in alarm.
“Call the police,” she gasped. “Tell them–” She bent over, hands on her knees, and tried to get her racing heart under control. “–Tell them I witnessed a murder.” She glanced back at the doors. “Lock everything up. I’ll be upstairs.”
The guard called after her–a young guy she didn’t recognize, someone who must be new from the past three years–but she ignored him. She heard the dial tone of the lobby phone as the elevator doors slid shut.
It wasn’t until she was out of the elevator and stumbling towards a concerned looking Alfred that she relaxed marginally. Despite the late hour, he was still impeccably dressed, as if he hadn’t ever gone to bed.
“Y/n?” he asked with a frown. The foyer was warm. Safe. Something in her loosened a little. “Security called up–”
“Um, I just witnessed a murder,” she said. She was in shock, or something close, because the words simply tumbled out of her. The disbelief on Alfred’s face mirrored what she was feeling now that the fear was leaving. “I had to run–that Batman guy was there and since he was distracting them I just–I needed to be safe and this was closest–”
Alfred wrapped her in a tight hug. “Are you alright? Are you hurt?”
She shook her head. Her body trembled.
And then she remembered, all over again, that her grandmother was dead and that she wouldn’t be getting the comfort she wanted the most. Alfred wasn’t even the next best thing, though it was good enough.
A small sound escaped.
“Alright, dear, I’m going to get the family lawyers on the phone. The police will meet us here to get your statement.” He squeezed her once more.
“Lawyers?” she asked, the word making her nervous all over again. “I can’t afford–”
“You’re family. And it’s just in case, love. They’ll offer legal advice and make sure nothing untoward happens with the officers interviewing you.”
She pulled away and wiped her damp eyes. “Okay. That’s–Where’s Bruce?”
Alfred hesitated. It was only for a moment, but long enough that she noticed. “Let’s not bother him unless absolutely necessary.”
Something sharp pierced her chest. Meaning, Bruce probably didn’t even care that she’d almost died. Tears welled in her eyes all over again, but didn’t fall.
Alfred patted her shoulder. “Stay here and we’ll meet the police together when they arrive. I’ll be right back.”
It only took ten minutes. Alfred had the lawyers on speakerphone and Bruce still hadn’t bothered to show himself.
The four of them–her, Alfred, a uniformed officer, and a detective–sat in the formal living room that no one ever used. It was dust-free, though, which was a testament to her grandmother’s work ethic.
Her throat tightened again at the thought.
“Y/n, this is Officer Martinez and Lieutenant Gordon,” Alfred said. “We’ve worked with them before and I believe them to be trustworthy. Gordon helped with the bombing last year.”
She started, recognizing the name. The fire that had just gotten her in trouble rekindled again, ever so slightly. She stared at the man seated in front of her. “You’re Batman’s best friend, huh?”
Gordon blinked. Then a corner of his mouth turned up. “Maybe not best friend, but we do work together. Why don’t you walk us through what happened?” Not the most subtle subject change, but she had more important things to get through before digging into the vigilante.
So she did. She kept it short, sweet, and to the point as if she were reporting on it instead of reliving it. It helped create enough distance that she didn’t freak out again.
“And you’re a friend of Mr. Wayne’s?” Gordon asked when she was finished. “Girlfriend?”
Her face heated. Alfred’s eyes narrowed. “I don’t see what–”
She waved him off. She was nothing to Bruce Wayne, so she didn’t care about answering, or even why he was asking. “We grew up together. My grandmother–Dory–was the head housekeeper for the Waynes until she passed a few days ago. I came for her funeral. And for my mother’s.”
Gordon simply nodded, as if he already knew the information. “Where is Mr. Wayne?”
Alfred’s eyes narrowed even further. “In bed. He wasn’t feeling well, so I didn’t see a need to bother him.”
“And the video? Did you delete it?” Gordon brushed past Bruce’s absence as if it didn’t mean anything. And to him, it didn’t. But for y/n, it meant everything. It meant that Bruce didn’t care. That she wasn’t important enough for him to wake up, to get out of bed. She hoped it didn’t show on her face, the minor devastation as the feeling sank in.
“No, I have it here. I can send it directly to you, or to multiple–”
“We’ll need the entire phone, actually, to ensure that nothing was tampered with.”
A tiny portion of her panic was back. Her entire phone? For how long? She looked to Alfred pleadingly.
But the lawyer–she’d already forgotten his name–was already on top of it. “We’ll need it in writing that the phone will be returned in a timely manner and in the same condition. And that there will be no perusal of personal files. I have a draft already sent to Mr. Pennyworth to print for signatures.”
Gordon sighed but nodded without argument. Was this what privilege felt like? Her life in close proximity to the Wayne fortune had afforded a few luxuries–like help with college tuition, Bruce giving her one of his “old cars”, things like that–but she had never needed to have lawyers on retainer. As close as she’d been with Bruce, sometimes his wealth still caught her by surprise.
Alfred disappeared down the hallway to print the documents, chatting with the lawyer the whole way.
Y/n studied the two officers in the ensuing silence. Officer Martinez hadn’t said a word. He was busy looking around the room in slack-jawed awe and barely seemed to listen to what they were saying. She glanced around, trying to see from his eyes. The room was grand, but it was also easy to tell the house had lost some of its former grandeur.
She glanced back at the officer. He was young, probably her age or maybe younger, with a thin mustache that didn’t make him look as old as he thought. He caught her looking at him and grinned sheepishly.
Gordon, on the other hand, stared right at her. She liked him, she realized. Her gut was rarely wrong on these things, but she knew better than to rely too much on that. It helped that he seemed steady, no nonsense. And apparently forward-thinking, because he worked with a vigilante on a regular basis.
There was that fire again. She silently cursed it even as she asked, “Would you be open to doing an interview about the Batman? I’m a reporter in Bludhaven and–”
Gordon’s phone rang out, shrill in the quiet room, interrupting her. “We’re best friends because he trusts me,” he said wryly, then stood to take the call as Alfred came back with the legal papers in hand.
“Damn. Only one?” Gordon said quietly, but they were all listening. “Alright. I’m with the witness now.” A pause. “Yeah. Yeah. Talk later.” He hung up and turned back to them.
“That was him, wasn’t it?” y/n asked. She wasn’t sure how she knew–investigative instincts, maybe. He had tried to hide the phone call, his body language shifting, even his voice. And he was familiar with whoever was on the other end of the call.
Gordon gave her a look. “Yes,” he said without needing to clarify who she meant. “I have officers on the scene now, but one of the suspects escaped. Do you think you could identify them?”
She thought back to the moment they had all turned to her. There had been a streetlight at the end of the alley, the light filtering through from behind her. She might be able to identify them, especially with the help of the video. She hadn’t put her phone away until after they had turned, frozen in fright as she was.
“I could try,” she said truthfully.
“Alright, let me sign these papers and get over to the crime scene. We’ll be in touch and get your phone back to you as soon as possible. I would suggest protective custody, but I think you’re probably in the safest place in the city.” He scrawled a signature over the papers. Y/n wondered if the bombing the year before had involved any legal paperwork. An NDA maybe, since officers had been in the “inner sanctum” as she’d jokingly called it during their teenage years.
“We’ll add more security,” Alfred said as he showed the officers out a minute later. “Please keep us updated on any developments.”
When they were gone, y/n slumped against the wall. “Fuck,” she said as she rubbed her tired eyes. The antique clock in the corner told her it was after two in the morning.
“My sentiments exactly,” Alfred said. He had shed the professional facade as soon as the elevator doors closed. “I’ve already posted extra security downstairs and in the parking garage. Our camera and alarm systems will be updated tomorrow. The private elevators are on lockdown and employee identities will be triple checked for the offices below.”
She nodded, though she wasn’t sure it made her feel better. One man had escaped both a vigilante and the cops, and they had all seen her face. It was only a matter of time before they figured out who she was–Wayne Tower going on lockdown was odd enough and it wouldn’t take a genius to figure out the cause. Her relation to Bruce Wayne had never been a secret. In fact, it had been an oft-discussed topic of every gossip magazine in the city and a few outside of it.
She hoped the man who had escaped was on the run instead of the vengeful type.
But her instincts told her that wasn’t the case.
She realized she hadn’t responded to Alfred. “I’m…going to bed. Thank you, Alfred.”
He squeezed her arm gently and bid her goodnight.
Y/n didn’t go to bed. Instead, she spent the next three hours scouring the internet for news on the Batman and printing out every article that seemed relevant. To what, she didn’t know yet. Those instincts that got her in trouble and created some of her best work in equal measure were whispering in her ear.
She finally succumbed to exhaustion right as the city outside started to lighten.
When she woke sometime later–long enough for her back to go stiff–she was on top of all of the papers she had printed.
“Ugh,” she said as she peeled an article from her cheek. She was still in the same clothes she’d gone out in the night before. She went to check her phone before remembering that the police had it. She opened her laptop and used that to check the time (nearly noon) and email her editor for an extended leave of absence. She briefly explained the situation without giving too many details and then asked for a temporary assignment to the Gotham Tribune.
There was a story here, and she was in the middle of it. It was an investigative reporter’s dream: to have unlimited access to a key witness who was willing to cooperate.
Might as well make the most out of an extremely shitty situation.
She showered, changed, and shuffled into the study when she heard the rustle of Alfred’s newspaper over light classical music.
“Good mor–uh, afternoon?” she said as she took a seat across from him at the giant monogrammed table.
“I’d ask if you slept well, but I think the answer is obvious after the night you had.” Alfred glanced up from the paper and smiled over the top of his glasses. “I’ve kept out some fresh fruit and coffee for you.”
She took some of both and settled in. She half-expected to hear her grandmother puttering into the room with a mop or a tray of sandwiches for lunch. Tears pricked her eyes when she realized that reality was gone forever.
“Thank you, by the way,” she said around a mouthful of grapes. “For…everything last night. And this week.”
“Of course, dear,” Alfred said, his light accent a comfort. He was the only constant in her life anymore, and she appreciated it more than she could say.
The silence stretched as she thought about how awful her luck had been in the past week. She stood and walked to one of the arched windows. The city was bustling down below, like it always was. She leaned her head against the cold glass and watched her breath create fog. Autumn had its claws in the city fully now, and it was only a matter of time before winter sank in its icy teeth next.
“Detective Gordon called. He thinks your phone will be released by tomorrow morning. They just need to document everything to make sure there’s no evidence tampering.” Alfred said as she watched the city. She noticed a small bubble of space around the tower where private security were deflecting pedestrians and double-checking employee identities.
“That’s good,” she said absently. “I asked for an extended leave from work. I figure I probably…shouldn’t do much else until that guy is caught.”
“Probably a good idea,” Alfred agreed. Another rustle as he turned the page of the paper.  “Gordon’s a very good cop. I’m sure he’ll get one in custody to tell him where the last one is, and this will all be over before you know it.”
She turned away from the window and smiled wryly. “That eager to be rid of me already?”
Alfred rolled his eyes but didn’t answer.
Her heart twinged painfully. She was sure it was Bruce who wanted her gone, not Alfred.
Speak of the devil, she thought as the man in her thoughts materialized at the top of the stairs. He was tugging a shirt over his head and damn it her eyes caught on the flash of bare skin of his abdomen. Her entire body flushed from the split second view. Since when did Bruce have abs? He’d always been more scrawny than anything, but all that had changed sometime in the past few years.
Bruce looked as tired as she felt. His eyes were almost bruised, the circles were so dark. His hair was damp and his shoulders curved inwards as if bowed by exhaustion.
Alfred looked up from his paper with raised brows. He glanced between them, folded the paper, and got up to leave.
“Fresh fruit and coffee there,” he said softly to Bruce on the way out.
That bastard, she thought at Alfred’s back. He was purposefully leaving them alone.
Bruce finally looked up and blinked slowly at her. Apparently, he hadn’t noticed that Alfred wasn’t alone.
She didn’t mean to speak. In fact, she’d decided to completely ignore him. But the words sprang forth anyway. “I hope you’re feeling better.” Her voice was cold. It was obvious she didn’t mean it.
Bruce froze. “Uh.”
“Alfred didn’t think you’d care about me almost getting murdered so we let you sleep.” She bit her tongue as soon as the words were out and winced. He could have been really sick, for all she knew, but here she was assuming he was just being an asshole.
Bruce shoved his hands into the pockets of his sweatpants. “I’m sorry,” he said. “I didn’t know until this morning.” The words were so unexpected her back bumped the cold glass of the window. Bruce Wayne, apologizing to her? It wasn’t an apology for three years ago, that much she knew, but it was still…something.
“Sorry, I–I’m just…tired. Overwhelmed. I shouldn’t have snapped.”
Bruce continued to stare at her. Used to, she would know what he was thinking from only a glance. But that was before. Now she had no idea what was happening behind his crystalline eyes. She noticed again how different he was. The baggy clothes couldn’t hide his new bulk. And he looked so tired, more so than he ever had before, even in college. Even after the deaths of his parents. What could possibly be keeping Bruce Wayne awake every night? Or maybe it was simply proof he had been sick after all.
“Are you alright?” he asked, brushing off her apology. “Were you hurt?” His voice sounded deeper too. It was like he’d gone through a second puberty or something. The muscles, the voice, even the way he held himself. He had changed so much, and she had missed it.
It sickened her how much she clung to his attention, to his concern, even though it was only him being a decent human. God, she missed him.
“No, I wasn’t hurt. That bat guy stepped in and gave me a chance to run.”
Bruce’s eyes flickered up, away, and back in quick succession. A nervous tick if she ever saw one. But why? Did he feel bad about what had happened to her? Or was he waiting for his chance to escape her presence?
“Heard he helped find the Riddler guy last year. The one who tried to kill you.” She knew she should shut her mouth, but she couldn’t help it. She couldn’t just switch off part of who she was. “Ever met him in person?” Her voice slipped slightly lower into what her grandmother used to call her “professional voice.”
She saw it happen–the hardening, the distancing. Bruce went from at least semi-open with her to entirely closed and walled off. That much she could recognize.
“No,” he said. He went to walk away, the lines of his body rigid, but paused. “I’m glad you’re okay,” he said over his shoulder.
She wondered if it was true.

You Drive Like A Maniac
Inspired by this tumblr post from @miraculousmelodies <3 This one shot focuses more on the family dynamics between Damian, Dick, Jason and Tim, but Marinette does appear in the end. Also, established daminette. Daminette One Shot | Crack Fic | AO3
It was a normal day at the Wayne Manor.
Damian, Dick, Jason, and Tim were all doing their own thing in the living room while Bruce was off somewhere on a mission with the Justice League.
That was until Damian got a call from Marinette, “Hey, Dami! Do you mind picking me up from Fabric Fusion? My—”
The call cuts off all of a sudden, sending Damian into a panic as his mind jumps to conclusions about what could have happened. Someone could have knocked her out from behind and kidnapped her!
Dick watched his youngest brother’s panicked expression with concern. “What’s up with you, Little D?”
“Something occurred with Marinette. She requested me to pick her up from Fabric Fusion, and then the call cuts off abruptly.” Damian blurted out, already jumping to his feet and rushing out of the living room with his siblings following close behind.
Moments later, Damian and his adopted siblings piled into the car in their yard and to their dismay, it was out of gas upon ignition.
The heavy rain was obscuring the view, but Damian could make out the black jeep a few distance away, seeming to be stalking the neighbouring manor. He wasted no time in hijacking the car.
Dick knocked out the middle-aged man with a precise strike to a pressure point while Jason and Tim tossed the man onto the grass to soak in the rain, their worries for Marinette outweighing their morals.
Jason took the driver’s seat, followed by Dick settling into the passenger’s seat while Damian and Tim sat in the back. The car took off before any of them could have the chance to fasten their seat belts.
Though Dick did click his seat belt into place once they were in the streets, and he chastened his siblings to do the same, only to get ignored in response. Safety was apparently the last thing on everyone’s mind whenever Marinette was involved.
Jason placed more weight on the accelerator with his foot in response, speeding through the streets like he was trying to win a race. “Oh shut up, Dickiebird, you’re a cop! Abuse your power for once. It’s for Pixiepop!”
Dick looked aghast by the very suggestion, holding on to the grab handle for dear life. “I can’t believe you’re trying to convert me into a corrupt cop, Jay! Not to mention, it’s not the case of abusing power. It’s for safety!”
“Oh, come on, everyone in Gotham is corrupt! The foster system is so shitty the children are better off surviving in the streets than in some foster homes!” Jason snarked back, abruptly veering the steering wheel to the left, missing the motorcycle about to hit their vehicle by inches.
In the back of the car, Damian grew more agitated by their argument, his worry for Marinette making him more prone to irritation and snapping at them. “Todd, your driving speed is inadequate. Marinette will have already been taken to a secondary location by the time we get there because of your tortoise driving speed.”
Jason gripped the steering wheel tighter, his knuckles turning white as he snarled, “Dickie here is telling me to tone it down, then there’s you, brat, demanding me to drive faster. I will do whatever the fucking hell I want, and neither of you get to decide.”
To Dick’s dismay and horror, Jason sped up even more. They were well over past the speed limit at this point with Jason’s reckless driving, and they’ve already resisted arrestment twice in the span of five minutes.
“You’re going to get us pulled over again. Not only will we have to get B to bail us out, but with us in jail, who’s going to rescue Sunshine?” Dick tried to reason, his face contorting into worry.
Tim groaned from beside Damian, feeling dizzy from the argument and the three energy drinks he had chugged to wake himself up. He was on his fourth drink when Damian snatched the can away from him, promptly tossing it out the window and hitting the car driving past them with a clunk.
“Hey!” Tim protested, hugging the duffle bag of energy drinks he had brought with him in a protective hold against his chest while shooting Damian a glare.
Damian wrestled the bag away from his sleep-deprived brother and chucked it out the window as well, ignoring the “you don’t fucking toss objects out the window!” from the car next lane.
“Is your goal to fill your bloodstream with energy drinks?” Damian asked drily, returning the glare.
Before Tim could snark back, they were slammed into the back of their seats when Jason jabbed his foot on the brakes, narrowly stopping the vehicle from bumping into the car in front of them.
Tim rubbed at his temple to soothe the throbbing headache manifested from the slam. “You drive like a maniac, Jason!”
Jason pounded on the horn in frustration, growling out, “Fucking quit making comments about my driving habits! If you all want to lash out, do it on something else that’s not my driving habits!”
Dick made an indignant noise from the back of his throat as the traffic light turned green once more. Jason sped off, not ceasing in his impulsive driving despite the barb comments. “You mean your unhealthy driving habits? This concerns our safety!”
“Shouldn’t you, as a driver, make sure your passengers get to their destination safely? You could never be a bus driver. You’ll send your passengers into a heart attack before they can even make it to their stop!” Tim yelped as the car took a harsh turn like it was to tip over at any moment before it levelled once again.
Damian, on the other hand, begged to differ. “If you imbeciles had not insisted on following me, I would have already made it to Marinette. Simply comparing Todd’s driving speed to a tortoise is an insult. Even tortoises are faster than him in this sense.”
Jason ignored Dick and Damian’s comments. Instead, he looked offended by Tim’s comment. “Excuse you, I would make one hell of a bus driver. Whoever takes my bus will never be late to their destination with my speed. If we’re talking about doomed careers, you would never make it as an ice cream taster. You’ll end up falling asleep face-plant into the bucket of ice cream and die of hyperthermia!”
Dick looked torn between wanting to laugh at Jason’s remark and keeping a serious expression while Damian scoffed, rolling his eyes. “I fail to see how ice cream tasters are relevant to the situation at hand.”
“I would never stoop so low to become an ice cream taster!” Tim protested, affronted by the prospect.
Jason cursed, swivelling the vehicle before it could hit the poor pedestrian crossing the street. “Is there a fucking problem with becoming an ice cream taster? I happen to like Neapolitan ice cream, thank you very much!”
“Who said anything about Neapolitan ice cream? I could say I like coffee, and then you’ll accuse me of hating tea!”
“That’s a terrible analogy, Timbers, because you do, in fact, hate tea. Saying you like coffee is a huge understatement. You would marry a drug dealer just ‘cause they offered to inject caffeine into your bloodstream so you could die in bliss!”
“This coming from someone who orders tea in a coffee shop!”
The argument was switching topics so ridiculously fast, giving Dick whiplash even as he was maybe a tiny bit entertained.
“Is this even about doomed careers anymore?” Dick asked loudly.
He had spoken over Jason’s proclamation of, “At least I don’t go to a coffee shop that has popcorn ceiling, which, fyi, contains asbestos and, congratu-fucking-lations, I’m happy to inform you’ll die thirty years from now of lung cancer if an overdose of caffeine doesn’t kill you first.”
Jason’s remark was immediately countered by Tim’s insult. “Says the guy who smokes ten packs of cigarettes a day and uses fluorescent lightbulbs in his room— which, for your information, contain mercury!”
Dick’s interjection went ignored by the duo, now moving on to microwaves and guns.
“You’re the one who keeps a fucking microwave in his room! Mind you, that monster of an appliance belongs in the kitchen, not the bedroom! You’ll die of radiation from the sheer proximity of it if there is a leak. The instructions clearly say to stand away from it while it’s cooking— “
“What’s wrong with keeping a microwave in my room!? You keep guns in your room, for god’s sake! Well, those abomination of machines belong in the shooting range. You’ll be thrashing around at night from your nightmares, knocking into the guns and shooting yourself in your sleep— !”
A dagger sailed through the cramped vehicle, cutting through the windshield and shattering the glass, halting the pair’s frivolous arguments. Raindrops were already splattering onto the dashboard and into the jeep from the damage.
Curses tumbled out of Jason’s mouth, and he slammed on the brakes to glare at Damian, the obvious culprit of the assault. “Are you trying to get us killed by fratricide, Demon Spawn?”
“You’re the fine one to talk about getting us killed. Talk about your non-existent driving habits,” Dick muttered, going back full circle to the original topic before the absurd argument between Jason and Tim took place.
If Jason heard Dick’s muttering, he made no show of it, keeping his glare locked on Damian.
Damian glared back. “I refuse to hear you cretins bicker about unpromising professions, dairy, beverages and other inane topics when Marinette is in danger!”
Tim snorts, amused by his word choice. “I believe the scientific names for them are ‘doomed careers,’ ‘ice cream,’ ‘coffee,’ and— hey! These topics are far from stupid or silly!”
Tim’s words fell upon deaf ears as Damian opened the door with an aggressive tug and moved to get out of the vehicle.
“Hey! Where do you think you’re going, brat?” Jason asked, having not hit the lock on the control panel in his haze when he first got in and now regretting it.
Dick mumbled under his breath, “I hope the car owner has insurance installed cause he’s unfortunately not getting the vehicle back in one piece.”
Damian scowled. “Todd clearly can’t be trusted to drive. It’s a betrayal waiting to happen.”
Ignoring Jason’s comeback of, “Don’t be dramatic, this ain’t the medieval times. We’re not forbidden lovers on the battlefield of opposing kingdoms,”
Despite the dramatic nature of Jason’s remark itself, Damian plowed on. “You and Drake may continue to have your philosophical argument about sleep paralysis or whatever preposterous topic is next. Don’t stop on my account.”
With that sarcastic remark, Damian slammed the vehicle door shut in a dramatic fashion, rushing toward the fabric shop Marinette liked to frequent a few feet away, with his adopted brothers quickly following suit.
Seeing his beloved standing safe and sound with her phone clutched in hand, Damian felt like he could breathe again.
When he was close enough, he pulled her into his arms, ignoring how he was practically soaked from the rain. Scolding words were already falling from his lips. “Don’t scare me like that ever again!”
Marinette, to her credit, looked sheepish, her hands resting on his shoulders, not minding his soaked nature. “Sorry, Dami. I called you to pick me up because it was raining and I forgot to bring an umbrella. My phone ran out of battery before I could finish the explanation. I really didn’t mean to scare you.”
Her eyes widened in surprise when she saw the rest of his siblings coming to a stop behind him, taking cover under the eaves with them. “You all dropped what you were doing to come all this way for me? How did you even get here so fast?”
Damian pulled away from the hug, taking her hand as his brothers went on a tirade of explanations.
“Several traffic violations due to Jaybird’s reckless driving habits,” Dick huffed, looking at Jason in disapproval.
In contrast, Jason looked proud as he announced, “We resisted arrestment twice!”
“Four cans of energy drinks before my duffle bag of drinks was tossed overboard to the wolves by my own brother,” Tim whined out, now having the time to mourn for his lost drinks.
Meanwhile, Marinette was looking more stressed by the minute.
“I should also mention that,” Damian added, pointing to the black jeep in the distance, “this is not our car. Dick knocked someone out, and we hijacked their vehicle. The windshield is also now shattered.”
Jason said in a staged whisper, “The windshield is Demon Spawn’s fault. He decided to assault it with his dagger.”
Marinette shook her head, exasperated and concerned by their antics. “You guys are not allowed to drive unsupervised ever again.”

Hi! I was wondering how Talon! Dick would react to Jason getting hurt during patrol or maybe getting sick and leaving him unable to talk, or when he does it's super raspy and quiet, and he can barely make his own noises too? 🦉
Okidoki let’s go with him being sick! (Cuz, you know, him being hurt and unable to talk… at all, is gonna happen in about… oh! Thirty days!) If it’s the first time it happens, Dick absolutely assumes Jason is dying and panics accordingly.
You know that stupid cold where you wake up one morning after feeling completely fine the day before but suddenly your throat feels like you swallows razors and any sound you try to make is like a crow on crack? Yeah. Like that.
Dick absolutely loses it and starts going straight into hardcore survival mode. Jason gets squirreled away into the most remote place in the manor with dozens of blankets and pillows. Food and water vanishes from the kitchens, along with whatever kind of first aid meds and utensils he can scrounge from the cave before Bruce comes back.
When Alfred and Bruce return from a gala… the manor is quiet. Too quiet. And Bruce immediately heads to Dick and Jason’s rooms only to find them both empty. Cue: Bruce and Alfred start panicking because the place looks like a tornado blew through it. The nests are gone, everything is in disarray, and the boys are nowhere in sight.
Conclusion: a kidnapping must have occurred.
So while Batman inspires the fear of god in every small time criminal and rogue on the streets by being MUCH MORE violent than usual (by the end of the night everyone knows to stay indoors if you’re crooked cuz the Bat’s gone crazy looking for his birds) and some of the more sensible rogues band together to find out who took Talon and Robin (nobody), Dick is still freaking out because he’s sure Jason is dying (he’s not, calm down Dickiebird).
Jason just lays back and allows the smothering (and is very happy when he finally manages to get Dick to bring him a pen and notepad for communication), Dick calms down considerably once they’ve established Jason is just a little sick (“Yes, cuddles actually help. No I’m not shitting you, they do! Btw get me some ibuprofen pls”) and not, in fact, dying. (Dick doesn’t fully believe it but Jason is still snarky so it can’t be too bad quite yet right?)
Alfred ends up finding them while Dick is down in the kitchens searching for the ibuprofen and very nearly starts yelling before thinking better of it (he was very worried okay cut him some slack).
Thirty minutes later Bruce is also back at the manor (after nearly causing several head on collisions) and hovering anxiously, torn between lecturing his kids and just— holding them and never letting go.

so i've been reading this wonderful platonic hanahaki Branch fic by @sarilolla, where Branch has familial hanahaki x4 from the loss of his brothers
and im like. not even finished with it. but my brain said "What if all five of them had hanahaki lol?"
so pls consider. post movie, all 5 of these idiots have hanahaki and are refusing to tell the others. this hanahaki isn't terminal, but it makes you ill and puts you in more danger from other diseases or injuries. (Injuries/illnesses such as getting the life sucked out of you in a diamond... *evil laugh*)
they're still on Vacay island, which is good bc Branch knows as soon as they return to Pop Village he's MADE, so he needs to figure out a plan QUICKLY. He's still getting used to opening up to ppl, especially his brothers
Bruce is considering telling them but hasn't had much a chance with the kids around. Floyd is hesitating, mostly bc he dosn't want to make them worried but also bc it's scary to admit. Clay is oscillating between making plans to tell them and making plans to hide indefinetly, and JD is fully planning to take this secret to his grave
cue several days of awkwardly trying to hide flowers, super obvious excuses that no one notices bc they are also trying to escape, and just alot of sus behavior. I think one of Bruce's kids has individually found out about and been sworn to secrecy by JD, Clay, Floyd and Branch (in that order).
Brandy knows everything and is trying so hard not to spill it, she just keeps trying to encourage Bruce even though he keeps losing his nerve or getting interrupted. Viva and Poppy are kinda playing interference on everyone, even each other, for their respective boys, so they're a little too preoccupied to find out.
cue kismet (who are in the know, at least w/ Branch) showing up. they're careful not to reveal anything out of respect for Branch, but they're also protective and make some pointed comments.
some people get up in their feelings, and it ends up with the brothers in a room together arguing until-
Branch coughs up four perfect flowers in front of them
he watches them fall in slow motion, their gentle descent like a guillotine to him, and he's seconds from panicking until-
"YOU HAVE IT TOO?"
anyway cue spiderman meme as they all reveal their hanahaki and then have an emotional convo

*bats eyelashes* Stony drunken Tower shenanigans? Your choice if it's pre or post getting together. 😊
Drunk shenanigans, ey? With pleasure 😁
---
Tony heard rambunctious laughter as soon as he stepped out of the elevator, his lips twitching up in a smile. He’d had the kind of shitty day that deserved to be drowned in alcohol, so a pick-me-up was much appreciated.
Tony rounded the corner, a hand raised in greeting. “Hey, gu-” He stopped dead as a glass hit the door frame in front of him, shattering on impact. Tony cautiously leaned forward, poking his head into the kitchen.
“Another!” Thor yelled, leaned so far back in his seat that it was a wonder he hadn’t fallen off yet. Tony’s eyes automatically swerved to Steve who seemed to be laughing too hard to do anything else, slumped over on the table with tears of mirth streaming down his face. Clint was balancing a bottle on his nose, and Natasha was stacking more and more bottle caps on top. Apparently the team had started without him.
Tony knocked on the door frame. “Did someone order a genius?”
“Tony!” Steve shouted happily, throwing his arms out wide. Tony had about two seconds to be surprised before he got dragged right into Steve’s lap, manhandled like a ragdoll. Tony stiffened, trying to act natural even as his mind chased itself in panicked circles. Oh god, Steve was piss drunk, wasn’t he? He’d never be okay with any kind of PDA otherwise.
The rest of the team didn’t even know they were together yet.
“Heeey,” Steve said, stretching the one word to at least four syllables. “You smell good. I missed you.”
“Hey, Cap,” Tony said, his high-pitched voice drawing the attention of Natasha whose eyes instantly narrowed.
“What are you doing?”
“He’s so soft,” Steve sighed, squeezing Tony’s middle as he nuzzled his neck, which - okay, rude - but Tony was focused on fending Natasha off when she got out of her seat, wobbling a little. Christ, were all of them hammered?
“No! It’s okay, stand down!”
“He’s groping you,” she growled, and - dear god, was that a knife?!
“It’s fine! I promise it’s fine, please sit down.”
She stopped, her steely glare wandering from Steve to Tony. “Are you taking advantage of him?”
Oh shit. “No! No, he’s - I mean, we’re -”
“Oh.” Steve tensed at his back before he turned his chair, making Tony flail as he was tugged along for the ride until Steve had positioned himself between Tony and Natasha, glaring daggers at her. “You can’t have him. He’s mine.”
“What’s happening?” Clint slurred as he finally put down the bottle, a look of unholy glee crossing his face when he saw the knife in Natasha’s hand. “Are we sparring?”
“No! Absolutely not! No weapons!” Tony rushed out, surging to his feet. Steve sat with his arms still outstretched, looking like a kicked puppy.
“Why?” he asked miserably. “Don’t you want me?”
Great. Natasha was looking between them like she didn’t know who to threaten anymore, and Tony sighed, wiping his face with both hands.
“All of you, knock it off. Steve, we’re leaving.”
“Poppycock!” Thor yelled, slamming his fist down on the table. Tony winced at the spidering cracks that appeared in the wood. He’d just bought that table. “Drink with us, friend Tony! Partake in the revels!”
“I wasn’t aware we had revels,” Tony said, grabbing one of Steve’s hands to try and tug him off his chair, to no avail. “Fucking Christ, would you - where’s Bruce?”
Clint blinked. “Where is Bruce?”
“Lab,” Natasha said, and Clint made an ah sound so long it was practically an acceptance speech.
“J, tell Bruce to come up here? We need to wrangle these idiots into bed,” Tony said, and Steve’s eyes lit up as he jumped to his feet, almost knocking Tony off balance with the sudden motion.
“Bed?”
“To sleep,” Tony said firmly, and Steve pouted. Literally stuck out his lip, the fucking - okay, yes, it was adorable, Tony couldn’t lie. “You’re drunk, Steve.”
“You’re drunk,” Steve said mulishly, and Tony sighed.
“I wish I was.” Tony patted his arm before he turned to Clint, offering him both hands. “Okay. Up and at ‘em, Merida, we’ll -”
Tony blinked when he was suddenly in the air, lifted by a firm grip around his waist. “What the -”
“He’s not coming to bed,” Steve said firmly, glaring at Clint as he carried Tony over to the door. At least he still seemed coordinated enough not to run them into a wall. Small mercies. “Just us.”
“Steve - come on, we need to - Bruce!” Tony called out when the man himself stepped out of the elevator, giving them a bewildered look. “Tell Steve we need to put the others to bed!”
“What?” Bruce asked, and Steve gripped Tony tighter, practically growling under his breath.
“You’re not coming either. Tony’s mine.”
Bruce’s eyebrows rose to his hairline as he looked at where Steve was holding on to Tony. “Uh. Is this a kidnapping, or -”
“Totally consensual, I promise,” Tony said, and Bruce nodded slowly.
“Right. Okay.” He gave Tony an amused smile. “I’m happy for you? I think?”
“I’m happier,” Steve said petulantly, now cuddling Tony like an oversized teddy bear, both arms wrapped around him. “Happiest.”
“It’s not a competition, big guy,” Tony said, barely holding in a hysterical laugh as he stroked Steve’s forearms. To Bruce he said, “The others are just as fucked up. Give me a second, I’ll -”
“No, it’s okay, I got it.” Bruce’s eyes twinkled with mirth as he turned away. “You’re occupied. Have fun.”
“Thanks, Bruce,” Tony shouted as Steve carried him into the elevator where he buried his face in Tony’s hair, grumbling under his breath. Tony chuckled. “You know, you’re kind of cute when you’re drunk.”
“You’re cute,” Steve mumbled, and Tony laughed, patting Steve’s hands before he pressed a kiss to them.
“Sure am, Cap. I sure am.”

I think I'm drowning, asphyxiated
I felt my heart skip a beat and my breath coming out shallow, I couldn't take my gaze away from the CCPD footage that was sent to the Bat-computer. Suddenly I felt like a little girl again. Watching something a child shouldn't have to witness, I felt a hand squeeze my shoulder pull me closer, I could tell it was Jason, it was too tight considering what we were seeing. He pulled me closer to him. There was silent in the cave, we were frozen, only our breath echoed.
"We have to trace it…" it was Dick's voice. "Tim Barb, do something" he exclaimed approaching Damian whose eyes were stuck on the screen as well.
I wanna break this spell that you've created, Your something beautiful, a contradiction
Bruce was laying still, many open wounds flooding with blood, we couldn't sense any movement, or see if he was breathing his suit devices that connected him to the Bat computer were destroyed as a laugh was heard in the background. It wasn't from the camera, I came to our comms… I knew that laugh, I despised that laugh… But the same time, I had so many memories of him, unfortunately good.
"Joker?" Damian asked and looked at us, his voice was shaking, I really didn't see that coming.
"Close enough, it's his creation, Jerome… this is Jerome. I would recognize his laugh anywhere…" I explained, I felt eyes on me, they knew it wasn't a pleasant subject for me, it hadn't taken me time to get over the fact that I was used by a psycho.
"How can it be Jerome, (Y/N), he died in case you do not remember…" Jason demanded looking down to me.
I wanna play the game, I want the friction
"I do not know Jason!" I exclaimed and swallowed "But this. Is. Jerome" I spoke and turned on my comm
"What the hell do you even want!" I exclaimed in the communication.
The laugh kept going without responding to my question, Barbara and Tim were typing, Tim signed to keep him laughing and talking so they could track down the signal. "What can be touched but can't be seen?" He asked me, it was his voice as I couldn't comprehend what was happening, this was a riddle I realized.
"Future, what of the future" I asked again trying to sound tremendous and firm like Batgirl would but miserably failed…
"It is a crime if attempted but not if committed" he spoke again, there was static in between, I couldn't make out an answer I was looking at Jason and Dick panicking internally. "Tik tak, clocks ticking. Ten… nine…" he started the countdown. We had no idea what would happen if he reached zero…
"Suicide!" I exclaimed out of the blue holding in my breath. The boys were staring at me, and so was I.
He laughed for a few seconds "What can be touched but can't be seen?" He asked me again and I let out a shaky breath. I was trying to ponder, think I couldn't make out a word, henstarted counting down again, and then his laugh became louder and louder.
"Now you brought this to the big bat" Jerome laughed, "Who makes it, has no need of it. Who buys it, has no use for it. Who uses it can neither see nor feel it. What is it?" He asked finally asked and I felt my eyes tear as i knew the answer. "You have about an hours before he runs out of air" there was another serious voice speaking now.
"He will bury him alive" Dick realized, I don't think either if them could tell the voice change.
"Tell where he is you son of a bitch" Jason yelled loudly, snatching the comm from my hands. The comm stopped working.
"Do we have anything?" He asked and turned at Oracle and Red Robin.
"I will have the location of the comm in some minutes" Tim informed us and I looked around breathing shallow.
"I got him killed, if the riddle was correct the second time, we would know more of Bruce's whereabouts…" I spoke in realization.
You will be the death of me
"Hey hey no, (Y/N)" Jason approached me and Dick did too.
"Yes… yes I did…" I yelled at him
"(Y/N) Don't do that;" Dick yelled while I was speaking
"He is going to suffocate to death and it's all on me" I yelled pushing him back
"Guys both shut up" Jason made an effort while all three of us were yelling at each other.
"SHUT IT " Barbarian yelled "The footage was recorded half an hour before it was sent, it wasn't a Livestream we have serious work to do." She exclaimed pulling us back to reality "Bruce is already buried based on what Valeska said" she pointed out as she looked at me.
"How can we know that he was speaking truthfully?" Damian finally spoke, his voice had eased from before.
"We don't, the tracking of the comm is being fulfilled at the moment" Tim replied and sighed
"It is not Valeska, I mean the voice is, but the last part, his voice changed… can't we like, rehear it" I asked and she put it on screen. I approached and dragged then recording of the comm to the end. "Here. Listen carefully it was the moment we were shouting" I explained and I sat down at the recording. Dick was above having his hand reassuringly on my shoulder, I was grateful for my brothers, and for Barb, and Steph.
"You are right" Barbara confirmed it and there was a notification sound. "We have coordinates, get ready and leave, I'll be having your back, sending them to you now it's in Iceberg Lounge" she informed us.
"To sum up we have Riddle and possibly Clayface…" I spoke as I approached my belt tied it around my waste as I put on the hood and then jogged to one of the motorbikes to drive as Tim did the same.
Jason cursed under his breath and sighed "I am driving, decide who is coming with" he tried to announce but none of us fell for it.
"Pick a ride Todd" I winked at him wearing my helmet, I knew he would ride with me, he had no issue with Tim but let's not get too touchy here. He was concerned about me, Jerome was a trigger for me.
"Okay plan. We need two teams, one to visit the Riddler at the narrows and one to penguin" Oracle spoke up on the comms "Red Hood Batgirl go to the Narrows, Spoiler will be expecting you there, Red Robin, Robin and Nightwing iceberg lounge, Alfred came here we are working together." She explained.
"Alright Copy Oracle" I spoke and turned over the direction and drove. Jason's hands tensed on the back of the bike. I saw it on the mirrors.
"Splitting up the communications. Red Hood, Batgirl and Spoiler you are with me" she spoke "spoiler is expecting you outside the old Thompkins infirmary" she added.
"Wooh feels good being the man of the team" Jason commented as the motorcycle roared throughout the streets of the bad-prestiged alleys.
"Out of the four of us you are the one who behaves most ladylike so…" I pointed out and braked as Spoilered sank out of the darkness on a nearby alley, her iodes suit gleaming at the street lights as well as her blonde curls.
"It's true Red Hood, you are not the man here" Steph poked him and he sighed ready to respond but he was interrupted.
"Spoiler, did you see the video?" Oracle asked.
"Positive, I also thought of Clayface, Valeska can't be alive, besides there was a voice alteration." She remarked and looked at us.
"Let's go in then" I signed and looked at the building moving in from the front door as Spoiler and Red Hood would go from the rooftop, we could use the element of surprise. It was dirty and the humidity was making the atmosphere heavy. I looked around listening to the rest saying they had eyes on me already. "Come out Nygma… I have an answer for you" I exclaimed,my voice echoed out loud returning to me. "The second riddle was heart, to be honest to break my heart, it was a smart move you know… to use him" I spoke loudly and then I heard the Riddler laugh, he appeared behind a pillar, from the dark, the light was dim, but my eyes were used to it.
"You must be the smart one, all batgirls tend to be smart huh?" He asked
"Is that a riddle too?" I asked him
"Oh we know the answer, it's that red head a few years ago." He stated and I rolled my eyes.
"Where is he?" I asked if I didn't know whom I was referring to at that point.
"That's the point of the riddle , Batgirl, you are supposed to solve both of them. Where is Batman buried, and how is Jerome still alive?" He spoke up and sighed. "Must be hurtful to listen to the voice of your beloved after so long … he was asking of you Batgirl…"
I was aware that he was bluffing, that most likely Jerome was still dead, and he was imitated by Clayface, the situation with Jerome almost spilled out of my identity, I felt cold sweat on my forehead. "Oh what to do, if he has anything to tell me he can just as well come and tell me, now back to Batman. Where is he?" I asked him and maintained my cool, I could hear Barbara commenting my heart rate that was speeding up
"Buried" Riddle simply spoke
"Where? isn't there a riddle or something?" I asked tensing, I was negotiating and I had to keep my cool.
I won't let you bury it
"Please you know I wouldn't tell you" he laughed. "At least you will have to earn it"
"How" I asked
"Getting passed the obstacles" he simply said and signed me to look upwards as a bucket of clay fell on me I gasped trying to unstick myself away from the substance I could hear voice through and outside the comms as I was suffocating for a drop of air soon I felt electricity run through me. Spoiler and Red Hood attempted with their teasers to get me out, it was successful.
I won't let you smother it
I breathed out air as the clay melted around me, I was breathing heavily and sighed looking around me seeing the dissolved clay slowly moving again into a mass to form Clayface who laughed.
"Are you okay?" Red Hood asked me and pulled me on my feet, and I nodded
"Is this an obstacle Nygma?" I asked loudly and ready to charge at him.
"You are smart, the obstacles will lead you to your bat and if you are lucky enough he will be alive" he laughed and winked at us and I flinched at the words charging at him instead of Clayface. But one hand got me pulled to a wall the same happened to the rest, I stayed calm this time and threw a cryo bomb while the rest reacted in a similar way trying to break free from the grip of the mutant. I fell on my knees dodging another incoming clay tentacle rolling behind a pillar as i started setting another round of electrocution, I had no visual in Spoiler and Red Hood and how they were doing, I could hear grunts and moans of pain…
"Clear the way!" I exclaimed and got on the battlefield again and aimed at the mass of clay, I saw both of them dodge out of the way as I shot the electrocution cable to him and gave him a shock. It lasted a while as the mutant started melting, there were sparks flying around as I felt the teaser burn in my grip realizing how I was overusing it. Before I decided to set it aside it blew in my grip. I fell backwards, my ears were ringing…there was a blur. I was on my back trying to assess the damage of my body, I breathed and closed my eyes trying to calm down, once I opened them I saw a figure standing above, a gun aiming at me.
I won't let you murder it
Before I could react there was another shot, Red Hood. "Don't you dare to touch her" he yelled as he jumped and spin kicked Nygma in the face, I rolled over and stood up grasping his collar. "Now tell us where Batman is?" I exclaimed loudly and he laughed. Red Hood punched him roughly.
"Where the fun begins you shall find information of his whereabouts" Riddler spoke "But if I stop breathing so does he" he told us and I let him fall to the ground and looked at Spoiler and Red Hood.
"Amusement mile" Oracle spoke up, solving it for us. "Are you guys alright?" She asked and the eyes of the rest fell on me, I looked down at my hands. They were kind of burnt but still functional.
"I am good" I smiled softly to reassure them but I got serious once I heard the location, my gaze turned to the other two, none of us had nice memories from there as I skipped a heart beat and sighed.
"Nightwing, Red Robin, Robin will find you there… everything will be alright." Oracle tried to assure us.
"What did Penguin say to the others?" Spoiler asked changing the subject as we started moving to the vehicle.
"Penguin said that he doesn't know anything he only aided and funded Riddler's idea, he said that many were recruited for this and that it wasn't only for batman, he wants us all down…" she said as we heard a beep meaning that the lines were all connected again
"We are walking straight into a trap" Tim spoke, I heard his sigh.
"We could ask for help" I suggested.
"Negative, i have already requested assistance but the league hasn't responded, I can't track down the Kents or The arrows or anyone… " she added.
"Kids,Master Wayne wouldn't want you to risk your lives on a hunt that may be resultless." Alfred spoke making my heart ache as I heard those words leaving his mouth.
"No!" Damian exclaimed
"I agree with the demon spawn" Stephanie commented "He has done so much for us"
"Risked his life for ours countless times, I know that you Red and Nightwing, you are the most hurt from this… this situation, from him… I do not know where you stand, but I am with them"I added and sighed, I was the third eldest of them and I would protect the kids if Jason and Dick backed down.
"Are you kidding me?" Dick asked through comms.
"You are an idiot Batgirl has anyone mentioned that to you?" Jason asked and sighed heavily looking at me. I couldn't see his expression but I knew he was staring at me with a raised eyebrow.
"No, actually on the contrary I am usually the smart one, and the eldest when I have to cover for you two. I am serious." I explained.
"Well right now you don't have to cover for us." Red Hood spoke and rode the bike as I signed him to ride the bike.
"Of course, whatever it has been done, he saved us too you know, helped us and saved more times than all of you combined… so we won't let him be murdered" Dick spoke up as I rode behind him while Stephanie went on her own. She would go roof to roof.
I took a deep breath. It would be the longest night of our lives, I simply hugged Jason from behind placing my cheek on his leather jacket. I was scared and my brother could tell, I felt him exhale. He remained silent. Jason wasn't the one to tell me a lie just to comfort me.
A/N: I would appreciate your opinion in the comments. Would you like me to continue, it was meant to be a lot shorter but it kind of started good. Thank you for reading <3

Not even the big, bad Batman.
From Riches to Rags by Vamillepudding
(If Bruce wasn't so busy investigating the Red Hood, he might have realised that, while Jack Drake is in a coma and Tim is grounded from patrol, Drake Industries goes broke. Overnight, the Drakes lose everything, leaving Tim without a cent to his name.
Jason, meanwhile, cannot believe that the Bats haven't noticed yet that something is obviously wrong with the Replacement.)
It’s weird, being poor. At the moment, Tim has precisely eleven dollars to his name. Drake Industries, gone. Their assets, gone. His trust fund, being used to pay for his father’s hospital bills. The house is gone, too. That's okay. Tim is okay. Sometimes, though, he lies awake at night, and he can’t help but wonder. Does Bruce know? He definitely doesn’t, obviously. But, does he?
Just a Moment in Time by Just_A_Poor_Boy
"I am… appreciative.” Damian says slowly. His hand discreetly fists itself in Timothy’s hoodie. Timothy is prone to bolting at the sight of emotional expression and Damian… is grounding himself as best as he can in this moment.
(Just a little glimpse of a moment between Damian and Tim. A bit of drabble to get my writing muscles back in shape.)
