#damn it was so good#ik i said that i dont think i will like dr2 more than thh#bur honeatly... maybe#i think i like the overall aesthetic of the first one better#and the story and mysteries more for the second#i dont think i really prefer either ones characters though#i think the dr2 had objectively more interestingly designed characters#but i didnt connect with some of them like I did with thh#so its give and take imo#i do think overall i like the protag-deuterag-antag better for dr2 aswell#cause as much as i love makoto kyoko and byakuya together#i individually care a lot abt hajime chiaki and nagito and i think theyre all just more interesting#but no one does it like the thh trio imo so maybe not 💀#idk sorry for this big random ass review#i just had to talk abt it

#arcane#arcaneedit#gifmaking#reminder that if ur not a fan of the coloring and sharpening then i dont need to hear ur opinion so fuck off and make your own gifs :)#sooo yeah!!! just sharing this very old coloring comparison i use from time to time to make sure i follow a certain peg for my gifs#but i dont really follow it to the T of course#and now i will use the tags to rant/comment about my coloring process lmao#ok so.... arcane s2 is SOOOOO much brighter than s1 i am so so so thankful we have such bright scenes instead of all the dark ones in s1#because it makes my life so much easier#that being said my coloring isnt really perfect i still cant handle more complex tones like the mel gif......#i used to have a more stylized coloring wayyy back in s1 (esp when u look at my old gifs) but i kinda realized i had to change it#so i scrapped all my old psds and now coloredit EVERYTHING MANUALLY#hence why sometimes i gif the same scene but theyre colored different since i never use a preset PSD now#however it became way more tedious to make gifs... so yeah.... lmao#but in the end i like it more!!! i like that my new coloring just basically matches the show more but is just brighter and more saturated#unless ofc i dont like the tones of the original show i.e. the vi gif you see there where its super green gray???? idk i dont like it so#i recolored the entire thing#anyways thats really it coloring will always be something i continue to try to improve on but recently ive just been v busy so i just#speed color and edit everything and dont rlly take all adjustments into account so no more complex tones and#i just stick to basic things#oh right sharpening! so for sharpening i use a very basic setting: just 500 px and 0.4 radius which is what i use for almost everything#i also dont add noise bc the landscape photographer in me does NOT like it LMFAOOOOOOOOOO#but yeah thats really it for sharpening oh i also use 4k sources as much as possible bc it gives the best quality and if#i cant find any source i just upscale everything by myself then crop stuff again back to 540 px and imo it really just does look better#personal tag

i changed my mind, disregard previous posts. girldad lawrence clears actually.
#decided this subplot is good and makes sense for him tbh#its deliciously hypocritical to adore a little girl whose future he has a direct hand in destroying by refusing to give up on new bethlehem#lawrence is at his most compelling when he's caring for a woman/girl in his life who is (or will be) directly impacted by his policies#but he's too much of a reformist to admit that the best thing he can do for the women he loves is to cede power#and he's so staunchly reformist BECAUSE has never yet been willing to cede that power BECAUSE he's a narcissist#he wasn't even willing to do it for his wife who he clearly loved more than anything#but paternal love is so different from romantic love & it means developing a willingness to give up anything for your baby#and i think angela was the only thing that prompted lawrence to give up power after he found out he was headed for the wall#like 100 percent by the end of the season he would have killed himself regardless of whether he had known angela or not#but it was probably because of her that he stayed in gilead risking the wall instead of taking the simpler path by defecting to canada#he would've stood trial in the ICC either way; and helping mayday wouldn't have built any credible defense#and at the end of the day nothing encapsulates lawrence better than being a selfish egomaniac at the expense of his loved ones#i think i was put off by that relationship at first bc it makes him appear too woobified for my taste; which i still believe to an extent#but the characterization this subplot serves is worth more than what audience woobification syndrome does to him imo#the handmaid's tale

i get. the sentiment. but i really dont think dc not using tim has to do w him being bi (see how multiple recently out queer characters are still in active non queer identity related use rn). i think it has to do w/ TD:R being a flop & them clearly trying to set him up in other non-solos to do. Literally Anything. are they doing a good job at setting him up? no. but w/ the h2sh comment & whats going down w damian i dont think they just forgot abt him but more they want to shuffle the stage a bit first.

Stuck on the first few eps of Farscape after finishing up Fantasy High s2 and maybe its the whole most recently consumed bias but I'm really struck by how much it feels like a dnd game??? Bunch of weird lil renegades slapped together and put in weird situations, honestly it would make a really interesting starting point for a game
Anyway John Crichton is a bard/wizard; he does a lot of persuasion as performance and that scene of him collapsing to the floor to write slingshot equations is THE most wizard shit- perhaps Artificer would be more accurate to him but it's not a class I'm familiar with.
#most of the others i feel are fairly obvious#i do feel like thats a fun lil idea to expand on tho; write a dnd game thats Just Farscape and see how long it takes the players to notice#maybe even set it up like ok theres a bunch if Archtypes you can pick tovplay as#but instead of Zhaan Aerun D'argo etc its The Preist The Commando The Child Soldier Barbarian adhfjsjsjd#and its the PCs characters#might let that cook a lil longer#anyway yeah i honestly might make Crichton as a character bc i always forget how endearing he is to me#fuckin love Farscape man it honestly explains so much about me that i watched it at like 10 years old#its like. imo its better star wars#its closer to space fantasy than to scifi and just goes balls to the wall with it#i know the production of it was kind of insane with alot of stuff being added by the cast just messing around in character#and it gives it so much charm!!#also ultimate bisexual/pansexual/alien fucker show please help everyone is hot#baby jason ABSOLUTELY imprinted on both Zhaan and Claudia Black#im also currently workshopping a char that got a lil of aerun and a lil of crichton injected in#to be a long term foil for Sunny#basically raised by their ex and groomed to be a fucked up honeypot for them to fuck them over later#except she develops feelings for them and its all this really complex REALLY toxic dance of masks#but we'll see how that one cooks#tldr i gotta make my Bardificer later lmao#potentially with some rogue or warlock levels later on

people conflate being nice with not being critical. Being nice to people doesnt mean never presenting them with any kind of negative information or feedback it means don't be a prick while doing it
