finally playing through TQ on my Series X edition and man this game really looks so much crisper and runs so much smoother on the newer console! i hate to admit it, but it's so much better performance than on last gen lmao

but now i'm faced with some decisions: do i try and save everyone this run? do i try and infect everyone? do i go for all the clues and evidence or all the Tarot cards? do i fail certain QTEs just for the bit? chop off the hand or leave it attached?

If you have pet fish that you want to bring with you if you evac, get a battery powered airstone, some extra batteries, a fish tank thermometer, water quality test strips, and some tap water conditioner/dechlorinator in case the place you end up evacing to doesn't have good water. It's not fun to think about, but clove oil is considered a humane way to euthanize fish if they're suffering so it might be good to have some on hand as well in case you're unable to continue to provide them with a livable environment. The RSPCA of Australia has a short guide on how to humanely euthanize aquarium fish with clove oil. Test the water often, do a partial change if anything deadly gets too high and make sure you're keeping them in a warm place if they're tropical (i.e. not next to an A/C unit). Don't use your drinking water to keep your fish alive, I know it sucks to lose them but you can't keep helping them if you pass out from dehydration, either. If you don't have an air stone you can hand circulate the water in a pinch by just taking some out and pouring it back in, but you have to do this frequently and it's a huge pain especially when you're focused on not dying yourself. I've done it in a power outage before and it certainly keeps them alive but you might want to set timers so you don't forget to circulate. Fish can run out of oxygen in a matter of hours if the water is totally still.

HURRICANE ADVICE FROM A FLORIDIAN!

Make sure you've got shelf-stable food and water for everyone in the house, including pets. The rule of thumb is a gallon per person per day. Freeze water bottles if you want cold water.

Make sure you have enough meds!

Make sure you have batteries, candles, flashlights, and a manual can opener. 

Make sure your electronics, including backup batteries, are charged. Unplug things you don't want fried in case of a power surge. 

Don't tape your windows, it doesn't help and you'll just be stuck scrubbing goo off of them later.

Put a mug of frozen water in it in your freezer with a quarter on top of it. If your freezer defrosts, the ice will melt and the quarter will sink and tell you you need to throw things out.

Get everything that's not nailed to a foundation out of your yard. That dead branch hanging on by a thread? Time to get it down (it was probably time to do that three days ago, but now’s better than never).

Park away from powerlines and trees if you can. Rain makes the ground soft and then trees fall over.

Have an evacuation plan to a shelter. Evacuate if they’re telling you to.

If you start to flood, don't go in your attic. You'll get trapped if the water rises too high and you can't hack through your roof. This happened to a lot of people in Texas and Louisiana. Get ON the roof.
