Pred - TFA Starscream (so close with that guess lmao), anyway I've got this story I've been poking at since literally 2010 (@/wolvesinstarryskies is so supportive 💖 ) and it's gotten me through some really tough times, and yes there's a vore AU... also he's how I found out about vore to begin with (long story, it's over on my Tumblr RP blog)😳, really he's just a dick to his prey and will let them go after thoroughly messing with their head unless you can come up with some bribe worthy of Future Leader Of The Decepticons

Pred - Obey Me! Mammon, idk he threatens to eat the MC and I went "YES PLEASE", I have more fun flustering him when he's a pred than when he's prey 😼

Pred - Obey Me! Beel, it's literally canon and he's a precious boy and going hungry sucks and I'd be perfectly happy to help him not be starving 🥺 I don't care if he eats regular food at the same time as long as I'm safe

Prey - Obey Me! Lucifer (yes really), because that mans is going to take a break whether he wants to or not and I think Diavolo/Barbatos would see the humor in MC taking things into their own hands (my MC's strongest/most-expressed Sin is Pride plus she ain't afraid of this old man 😤)

Woo Jinchul - Switch, professional, dry sense of humor, looked Death in the eye and only flinched when he saw the Apocalypse ahead, incredibly smart and intuitive, he's my Guilty Pleasure on this list 👮‍♂️

Song Chi-Yul - Pred, I lied here's another Guilty Pleasure, I actually literally cried at the end of the manhwa, he's only a C-rank mage but teaches swordsmanship to S-ranks, tried to save Jinwoo and Joohee but was talked out of it and regrets it to this day, he is classy and I just want to spend time with him🫡

Baek Yoonho - Prey (yes really), idk something about him makes me want to aggressively demonstrate affection, don't ever tease him about it because despite being the weakest Korean S-rank Hunter HE IS STILL AN S RANK and will cut a bitch (he was ready to beat the crap out of Hwang Dongsoo for strangling his lower-ranked guildmate edit that guildmate isn't even a Hunter and that is not a Hunter you want on your bad side srsly just Do Not The Thing)😼

Choi Jong-In - Pred, he's canonically a bit of a shit-talker and gives me OM! Diavolo vibes and I love me some playful banter with preds what is it with me and people with a red theme?? 😧

Son Kihoon - Switch, he's a sweetheart and I want to snuggle him three different ways, he cares for his strike squad and was willing to set aside a chance for tremendous personal glory as well as sacrifice his whole team to keep a literal army of High Orcs from destroying a few cities 🫂

Go Gunhee - Pred, he's a total badass who gave his all to keep Hunters from basically forming a Might Makes Right society also I have a Thing for older men I am not ashamed to admit it, Song-san is up there for a reason, the man is a Gigachad who outright rigs Hunters Association assignments to keep the D- and E-ranks as safe as possible 🙇‍♀️

Yoo Jinho - Prey, because he's just a sof' boi and must be protected at all costs, maybe he'd find it interesting and like that he was sought out for him and not just because he's Ahjin Guild's vice/Jinwoo's friend 😋

…..actually, thinking about it, maybe "devotion" wasn't the word i was looking for 😅 sorry, i'm not a native speaker so i wasn't aware the religious connotations were so strong. but i really like your interpretation, and it was very kind of you to not dismiss it! i guess i was looking for something stronger and more emotional than "loyalty". because to me, shinae's actions read not only as "you were a good friend to me so i'll be a good friend to you", but also as "you mean a lot to me and i don't want to lose you". idk if there is even a word that captures this?

and not to get too analytical but i find it interesting to compare nol to minhyuk in that aspect. maybe you will disagree but imo shinae's actions aren't necessarily romantic. i believe she'd be just as affected and do the same things if it was minhyuk, who is similarly meaningful to her. except with nol, there is a different layer to it. there is the soulmateism she isn't aware of (yet), but she IS aware of her heart thumping and not being able to hold his gaze, there's also the change in his behavior, and her attraction to rand which she still has to unpack (it's not just for comedic effect it's obvious she's projecting lol) and i cannot wait for her to do the math and realize what's happening lmao it will likely take her some time but that's fine. she'll get there 👍 and yes yes yes after everything these two (and kousuke too) have been through all i want is a happy ending whatever that may look like 🥺 and therapy for all of them. maybe they can get a group discount /j

That is a REALLY good point about Yujing. It's partly why I do believe this piece she's working on started with her friend at the root - it HAS to be worth risking her career and potentially life. Yujing surely knows the risks she's taking. I remember at the beginning of 151 she tells her friend that what she's working on might take several years, but that it's something her friend would be very interested in. If Manli is the friend Yujing has that was sa'd, then it would give her a reason to chase the story, I think. Once she finds out Nol pled guilty, though, she calls her mysterious contact and the story that once was seemed like it would take years suddenly has only the amount of time as Nol's sentencing.

Isn't that interesting? I still am not entirely sure what to make of it. Clearly everyone expected Nol to plead not guilty, for the trial proceedings to take place, for Shinae to give her testimony. Also something that stands out to me - Meg was told her testimony wasn't needed, that it wouldn't matter if she testified anyway because it'd get thrown out and before Nol could get much more out of her, Yui appeared. Not so subtle, right?

That's a small tangent lol but the point is: yes, I think that this is an important story to Yujing, not just for her journalistic integrity, but for something more personal. Vindication for a friend? For multiple friends? Because while I don't know if Yujing is aware of the full extent of how Yui has raised Kousuke, I think she knows enough to sense otherwise. She was disappointed to find that Kousuke hadn't changed, much like Nol is disappointed he hasn't changed - in a way, they've been rooting for him to come to the conclusion we have, right? They've been waiting for him to really comprehend the full scope of his life the who his mother is.

Another interesting thing is that Yui absolutely tries to play her tricks with Yujing, to put on that maternal mask, but Yujing doesn't even bother entertaining her. Also, that day that she was interviewing Nol, Yujing wrapped up with Yui's entrance. She definitely has an inkling that Yui's presence would compromise Nol's responses and make him uncomfortable, and she could probably deduce that was exactly what Yui was hoping for, to meddle more than she already had.

And that comes to another point about Yui. She notes that what she's doing with Nol is below her paygrade and she's doing it as a favor to Rand, but I have to wonder if it wasn't rather self-serving. Nol's drug-related charges link right back to Yui, and we have enough to deduce that this isn't the first time Yui has provided such drugs. If you haven't read this post yet, please do! It poses an interesting link between Kousuke's college incident and Yui providing drugs.

All this to say: I think the story must be very important to Yujing for her to tackle it, knowing who Yui Hirahara is and what she's capable of. But it also leaves us wondering what kind of protection can Rand even provide? He couldn't protect Nol. He couldn't protect Kousuke, though perhaps he was just too late. He can't even really do much to protect himself. And the way the judge managing Nol's case just so happened to retire? We know she pulled some kind of strings, intimidated someone, something. She has so much power and we don't even know the extent of it all. So. What kind of protection can Rand even afford her?

But yes, I do worry about the outcome of this story, even though I also look forward to it. It feels like it will end up being a bombshell in a lot of ways. I also wonder about how the setting of ILY plays into this. In the past, quimchee has referred to it as the United States of Korea - not quite Korea, definitely not America, but as the story has unfolded and characters have gone to and from America, England, Ireland, Japan, does that mean we definitively are set in Korea - and if yes are we following Korean laws? Libel and slander in Korea are a big deal - you could sue someone for running a story defaming you, even if they reported the truth! And again, with the contacts Yui seems to have, I have to wonder what her reach is.

I guess that's what makes Yujing seem like such a cool and formidable character. I want to know what she knows lol i want to know what her angle is. Also while I'm talking about her, here's something interesting I just noticed. Yujing spoke of Kousuke and Nol with familiarity when she interrupted their fancy meal. She said that it was a surprise to see them getting along enough to eat because the atmosphere would be hostile whenever they were in the same room together. There's also that history between her and Nol and her dog Senator. It raises some questions - when has Yujing been around them together? Especially because of the way Yui played dumb about her; it could be an act altogether, asking if they went to university together full well knowing it's so.

Also one other thing while I'm on this subject lol. The morning that Yujing saw on the news Nol pleaded guilty, she was going through a news story about an altercation between Nol and Kousuke. Without knowing the angle of her story, I wasn't sure what this had to do with what she's working on - sure the framing of Nol as a bad person plays into it, but also - during his interview with Yujing, before it got cut off, he says to her "It's not the first time the truth has been twisted in the media to fit a narrative". Is he speaking about that article, the one that frames him as the aggressor? Is that the one Kousuke has that fabricated memory of? Ahhhhhhh the more I think about what Yujing is working on the more desperate I become to read it!

This will definitely be coming hopefully soon! It's just something that's been on my mind as I reread lol. Like you said, it's very delicately woven! For me, there's something about watching two characters really come to matter to each other; it's not something I feel like I'm good at writing myself, but it's something that just really gets to me. I'm definitely ILY for the story and learning about their pasts, and seeing what will come of everyone, but the possibility of romance is just the icing on the cake, tbh! I really enjoy scenes where we get to see Shinae be honest, and we tend to get those when Nol is involved lol. (But also while looking at some earlier chapters I got weirdly emotional re-reading Yujing and Shinae's first meeting at the mall, when she helped pick out clothes that flatter her and Shinae asked if it was weird or wrong to favor comfort over style and Yujing reassured her it's not. idk it was a nice little moment, Shinae deserves all the reassurance!)

But I definitely get what you mean! I think devotion DOES work - frankly I'm not a particularly religious person I think of devotion as lol one of those foundations for a lasting marriage/partnership lmao. And I don't think it necessarily needs to be seen as a romantic thing, either! I just enjoy the religious imagery of it because it makes it feel somehow... idk, transcendent? Since right, it's a stronger word that loyalty is! And I do agree that her devotion, her dedication, her insistence on being there itself is not inherently romantic, which is what I love about it!

Idk how to explain this so please bare with me lol. It's like... to me romance isn't a raging forest fire, because eventually that kind of fire will just. Burn up and one day all that will be left is ash. It burns hot and strong and it's passionate, until there's nothing left. But a steady burning flame? Something that isn't so extreme, isn't so magnificent? But it's steady and constant, it's reassuring. You can trust it to continue. Sure a candle will eventually burn itself out but it's not like that wildfire that just burns and consumes until there's nothing left.

So when it comes to romance and things that seem otherwise mundane, I love it SO MUCH. Because I think it really plays into that narrative of how do you even define platonic vs romantic love? Shinae could very well have the most platonic feelings about Nol and still want to sit by his bed and keep watch over him, to make sure he's okay, to make sure he doesn't go out of her sight again. She absolutely would do the same thing for Minhyuk, someone we know is one of the most important people to her outside of her family. She did it as much as she could for her father when he was in that same position, too.

THE BIG DUMB SMILE THAT GREW ON MY FACE WHILE READING IT because that's it THAT'S EXACTLY IT lol that's why it just GETS to me! Because she WOULD do this for any other person she loves, anyone else who is important to her, but this isn't any other person, it's him, and it's the way she can't hold his gaze, it's their tendency to lean towards each other (metaphorically or literally), it's the way he's let his defenses down a little more than she's used to, it's the way he's acting on something she once upon a time thought he was and told him not to but now she's not so concerned about crossing that line. In fact, that's BEEN going on! She went from telling him not to be too familiar with her lest he make his girlfriend mad at him waaaaaaay back before the formal to LMAO holding his dumb hands because it brings her comfort so she assumes it will do the same for him. I, too, am waiting for her to have that realization that this version of Nol, this side of him he's shown her, that intensity, is SO much like Rand LMAO. I fully agree - that was not simply for comedic affect LMAO that was a little seed planted (although, hands down, the conversation Nol and Kousuke have following that is one of my FAVORITE scenes. There's something about the way Nol is just. Talking to Kousuke like maybe they don't hate each other and maybe they aren't at each others' throats all the time, casually noting that sure he finds Dieter's mom hot but is he going to SAY so and Kousuke just like PLEASE SHUT UP THIS IS SO UNCOMFORTABLE such a FUNNY scene lmao).

BUT ANYWAY YEAH IT'S EXACTLY THAT!!!!!!! I love love that isn't grand and overstated. Like, that's fine and I definitely can enjoy a really grand gesture, they're fun to read! But I love the kind of love that blooms from a seed that was planted long ago and maybe you didn't even realize you were nurturing it but eventually it grows and will bloom and that bud has grown and it may not have completely unfurled itself but. In time!!! Soon!!!!! It's the "calling insistently to check up on you and worrying even when i'm told you're okay because i want to hear it for myself". It's the "defending you even when you aren't around to see it because it's not an act i put on you are special and i don't like it when people mistreat you." It's the way!!! Her acts of care!!!! Linger even after she's gone!!!!! It's the way he always seems to reel from whatever mark she's left - her hands bunching up his coat, the earbud she returns to him, the stupid chicken nugget hand holding. AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH all these little moments that could just as easily remain platonic, except they're stirring something up!!!!!

That they are each people who aren't good at receiving care from others but end up doing exactly that for each other! And how they receive that concern and care! Nol always seems SO affected by the times she pays attention to him, when she notices things. The medicine she bought him!!!!!!! Because he is a person who deserves to be taken care of!!!! When no one else but Nana does that. ;A; Like alfkjakfjkjaf lmao see I'm accidentally going on the tangent already but that's! Exactly what I love about them. That, as you put it, they are so delicately woven, it's been happening all along but NOW we can see that tapestry they've been weaving. We can see exactly how they've affected each other in a way that's led to these flirty little fingers dancing, to this additional layer atop something that could be otherwise so platonic. It could be Minhyuk and she'd still be asleep at the side of his bed, but it's not, it's Nol, and that makes all the difference.

I mean that very platonically, too - I just want to see these characters find some kind of peace and have someone who understands, who gives them that space.

Oh wow. First of all, I don’t mind. Whether ask box or this, I’m cool with it. (I need human interaction so I’ll take whatever form, you guys have no idea. Ans: I’m working on this part for Chapter 8. Currently I’m working on Chapter 7, so I’ll get to that soon lol. No spoilers on how he would react lol.

•Also I was wondering if maybe you are gonna go down the questioning-his-gender route for Nico?

Ans: No, I’m not going down that route, mainly because Nico eventually becomes comfortable in his own skin (canon wise) and I don’t want to take that away from him. Him lacking discomfort wasn’t really because he was comfortable. In Chapter 3, this was stated:

“At some point, from being addressed as the Mother of the Fates, to being the long lost Primordial that once embodied the Law of the Universe, to being the consort to the Primordial God of Time, another being suddenly making an appearance and claiming to be Khaos was the least surprising news he could receive today. Maybe the most realistic, even.”

He’s in that “Okay, if you say so” mode. 😂 He’s overwhelmed with all of this information. Also, this will be a recurring point throughout the AU, he’s acknowledging Ananke as a separate entity. Aka, she’s not him, and he’s not her.

But in Chronos’ case, his views are the complete opposite. He did say this in Chapter 2: “The mortal plane has an unhealthy obsession with the unimportant details. Ananke is Ananke, regardless of the vessel.” Ananke for him is the essence of his partner. He calls Nico Ananke because that’s the name of his beloved’s essence. But Ananke for him does not conform to any gender, because at the end of the day, their mortal vessels are just that - vessels. Er I hope I explained that well. 😅

•I have also been wondering is Leo alive?? Because the seven are going and annabeth is replaced by alabaster, does that mean Leo comes along too? I mean technically it’s a tsats plot rewrite so if the timeline is same that means he will be there. But he will show up later. So do they believe he is dead rn? Did he see this Nico is Ananke situation? As in is he in throne room rn? Or he is gonna come back later and would get a rundown and then proceed to make corny jokes? If he comes back later is calypso with him? What does she think about this because she is older than the gods right? And like does she choose to not accompany them to Tartarus or is there like laws and reasons stopping her or something? Also idk is caleo gonna be a ship or do they break up?

Ans: The story will follow most events up to the start of TSATS timeline, so yes, Leo is alive. Same as canon, they believe he is dead right now, but he’s actually in Ogygia.

Not really all of the seven are going. The main lineup (lol) has changed to Nico, Chronos, Percy, Alabaster, Hazel, Reyna and Jason. So unfortunately, Annabeth, Frank, Leo and Piper aren’t going. Leo finds out about the situation later on when he comes back though (following ToA timeline) and pretty much everything on his side remains the same. Annabeth, Frank, Leo and Piper won’t be that present in this AU, but there are mentions. (In my head, that’s the current gameplan. The seven going to Tartarus is fixed though.) How the seven are chosen to go to Tartarus though... that’s maybe around Chapter 10 or 11 when the main part of the story starts. In any case, only these chosen seven are going (you can imagine how well that goes, separating Hazel and Frank, and Annabeth and Percy lol).

•Also the Apollo getting punished thing, I know Jason was stopped from dying because chronos, but do we get a time skip to directly the tsats part? Then what about Nico’s involvement in the last book? How does chronos feel towards Apollo (cause he has a crush on Nico lol) ? But more importantly how does he feel about his beloved befriending the Trogs (🥹) ? And also since time would have passed, there dynamic changed too? Ans: Yeah, Chapter 9 is set to around the TSATS timeline already. So there is a timeskip between chapters 8 and 9. Of course, there are some changes to the OG timeline. Jason being alive, for one, and I’m also adjusting for the story to coincide to the start of summer so it justifies some events that will take place.

Nico’s still pretty much involved with the events of the last book. Main difference is his relationship with Will is as friends and not as in the books. Nothing much changes for the ToA timeline, mainly because Chronos agreed that he wouldn’t interfere with the works of The Fates. Jason was an exception, which umm kickstarts what happens in the revised TSATS timeline. There are some changes. Like the voices and the nightmares, my approach would be slightly different. I don’t want to spoil for now, mainly because I haven’t gotten to that part too lol. I have a rough idea but yeah, “rough”. Very, very rough.

Yep, definitely. Revised TSATS timeline happens more than a year after BoO, surely my liege can work his magic in that timeline to at least reach a dating status with Nico lol. But this content - Nico slowly easing to him - might be more towards the Demigod Diaries ideas. By the revised TSATS timeline, Chronos and Nico are already “dating”. (”Dating” in Nico’s terms because, come on, in Chronos’ books they’re already “married”. He’s just indulging his currently mortal partner lol.) But you will still see their relationship develop throughout the AU. Actually, you will see a lot of relationships develop throughout the AU. Not just romantic, but platonic as well.

•Also I was wondering if maybe you are gonna go down the questioning-his-gender route for Nico? Like with all that Mother thing, and the switching between pronouns when talking about Ananke and then talking about him. Especially because his immediate reaction wasn’t discomfort when being called Mother or being referred to with she/her pronouns and even when khaos was like we can change his anatomy, instead of being uncomfortable by that he was only like actually that’s not the biggest problem 🤓☝️(loved that btw)

Like maybe not trans but more like gender fluid/ gender non conforming? Fits in with the can’t bound such powerful beings by the concept of gender thing.

Would love to know what you think. But him not going that path will be nice too and I practically melted when chronos said that he is perfect just the way he is 😭😭😭

•I have also been wondering is Leo alive?? Because the seven are going and annabeth is replaced by alabaster, does that mean Leo comes along too? I mean technically it’s a tsats plot rewrite so if the timeline is same that means he will be there. But he will show up later. So do they believe he is dead rn? Did he see this Nico is Ananke situation? As in is he in throne room rn? Or he is gonna come back later and would get a rundown and then proceed to make corny jokes? If he comes back later is calypso with him? What does she think about this because she is older than the gods right? And like does she choose to not accompany them to Tartarus or is there like laws and reasons stopping her or something? Also idk is caleo gonna be a ship or do they break up?

•Also the Apollo getting punished thing, I know Jason was stopped from dying because chronos, but do we get a time skip to directly the tsats part? Then what about Nico’s involvement in the last book? How does chronos feel towards Apollo (cause he has a crush on Nico lol) ? But more importantly how does he feel about his beloved befriending the Trogs (🥹) ? And also since time would have passed, there dynamic changed too? Idk how you feel about jdox/Jordan (idk if there's a ship name for that) but i keep thinking about like.

Perry and Jordan are actually trying again. And they both want it to work, not that they'll admit it, if not for them than for the kids. Anyway. They decide to do the unhappily married midlife crisis move of spicing things up in the bedroom by having a three-way. For whatever reason (Jordan knows he's good, convenience, they know he'll say yes whatever.) They pick JD as their third. Just for one night to spice things up. They are 100% just using him just this once to spice things up.

It works. But then a few months go by and they're at each other's throats again and not in the fun way. So they try to spice things up a different way but they can't agree on anything new they haven't already tried and nothing worked before quite like a threesome. So they drag someone else who's passably cute and easy to control in for a night. But it's not as fun or helpful. This person doesn't react properly or understand their orders correctly.

They're not as well trained as JD. They don't. LIKE JD, it's just. Jordan and Perry have both already broken him in to respond properly to them. It would be such a pain to waste time training a new toy every time when there's one they've already put the work into. So they pull him in for another "one night stand" and it works.

That is. For a few months. So they bring him back when things are bad. And then. They might as well bring him in before that get really bad. They both know the benefits of preventative medicine.

And through all this they're falling (back?) in love. They're striking a balance they've never found before and also. Oh yeah. They're starting to find a balance with JD. They're also maybe starting to fall for him. Who has been a little in love with Dr Cox for years and is starting to see a whole new fun and almost caring side to Jordan.

if you haven't read survivor by randomslasher and thuriweaver, you'll love it bc it's a very similar premise, just with some near-death experiences thrown in. each chapter had a separate link, so im linking to one of my reclists that has all the links - it's in the required reading section

ANYWHO, out of all the possible ot3s, this one isn't my /favorite/ but it does seem the most likely and I certainly have nothing against it. Like I'll definitely read anything I'd come across with this ship dynamic. I can so see something like this happening though. They want to spice things up and I feel like Jordan wouldn't care who, so she makes Perry pick and he feels the need to defend himself choosing JD, but it's like you said. He's already very well trained 😅 But yeah, at first it's JD just wanting to get closer to Dr. Cox and he likes and is very good at following orders and now he's sleeping with two of the most domineering people he knows. So of course he falls even harder for Perry, but along the way, he gets to see more of Jordan and that side of her that makes it clear how hard she loves, how much she cares. So yeah bud I love it 👏

Yeah I do see your point, but note the use of “ienakatta”. “ie” from “ieru” means (based on jisho.org) “to be possible to say; to be able to say”. And then “irete” or “ireru” can be (1) “to put in; to let in; to take in; to bring in”, (2) “to admit; to accept”. With that in mind, I can see “doushitemo, nakama ni iretette ienakatta” as “in the end/no matter what/at any rate, I wasn’t able to say/I couldn’t bring myself to ask if I can join your group/if you [guys] would let/admit/accept me in your group” (disclaimed: I’m also not an expert in Japanese, so I may be wrong in this too). 

Another disclaimer before we move on: this is just my opinion ✌ (and I'm sorry it turned out long 😅)

I’m not sure if this is my headcanon or not (as it’s been years since I last played OG and watched the lifestream sequence), but in my mind, on top of being a quiet and awkward kid, Cloud never got along with Tifa’s friends, so maybe that’s one of the reasons why he couldn’t bring himself to ask them. Or well, he could just mean that he couldn’t ask them, for whatever reason. He didn’t like them? He felt awkward around them? He felt different from them? He didn’t like what they like? He wanted to play with them, but he didn’t want to be the one who started the conversation? He just...has some small pride in him that prevents him from saying what he truly feels (and yes, I think Cloud is someone who has trouble expressing his feelings). OG never really gave us the reason why. 

But the fact that he followed Tifa to Mt. Nibel and even went out of his way to tell her that he’s leaving to become SOLDIER (because he wanted to impress her, because he wanted to be strong enough to protect someone, because he had failed her when both of them fell from the mountain) show us that he held her in higher regard (than her friends, maybe?). But, even if I take off my shipper lens, him, a 14 year old kid, going out of his way to tell a girl he barely ever talked to that he’s leaving? I don’t think you see that often.

And the promise scene, Tifa only talked about wanting a hero to rescue her because Cloud told her he’s leaving to become a SOLDIER - more precisely, a hero like Sephiroth. I think in the OG it’s just some silly childhood promise two kids make. The boy leaves to become a soldier. The childhood friend he leaves behind asks him to rescue her if ever she was in a pinch. Well, in the Remake too but I like the voice direction in Remake in how it shows Tifa’s surprise at the sudden news, her sadness that “all the boys are leaving” (because she would be left alone at the village). I don’t know how much the Japanese script changes between the OG and Remake in this scene though (as a lot of other iconic scenes are almost 1:1). And to be honest, personally I think her feelings grow only after she meets Cloud again in Midgar. 

Her asking Zack about Cloud is in Crisis Core (I don’t remember if it’s in OG too), but even if that’s not a crush, it’s a harmless question you’d ask anyone who’s from a place your friend/family/relative works in, especially ones you haven’t seen/heard in a long time. (and I imagine in a small village like Nibelheim, everyone knows everyone else, and the whole village is just like one big family. Or well idk, it’s common where I’m from anyway haha)

And the glitches in the Remake scene. Yeah I just watched it again and it glitches when she calls his name, but when she says “ignored again”, she is looking at Cloud, before the scene glitches again. Cloud is not in the best state of mind. If, judging from the Lifestream scene, his childhood memories are the true ones as Jenova didn’t mimic them from Tifa’s stories, I see those glitches as his true memories trying to surpass Jenova’s control of him, but well each to their own interpretation lol. 

I was reading reddit conversation about Tifa's and Cloud's childhood, and it's freaking wierd how different people interpretations are. There were people saying how they were friends and how they became more distant after mountain incident, or how Tifa wanted to be Cloud's friend and Cloud was arrogant and didn't like others. Apparently Remake needs to clear this up, because when I was playing, it was clear to me that...

Cloud was never a part of Tifa's group with other children.

Tifa didn't pay any more attention to Cloud when they were little. (Game doesn't imply in any way Tifa wanted to be Cloud's friend and when others see Cloud outside Tifa's window and say "Should we let him in?" Tifa shakes her head.)

Cloud doesn't make a difference between Tifa and others when talking about how he wasn't let in and how they were stupid. ("You all were laughing at stupid things...")

Tifa didn't remember the mountain incident, she couldn't have taken interest in Cloud over that.

Tifa was surprised when Cloud asked her to the watertower, why would she be if they were friends/hanging out with him was normal?

Cloud wasn't allowed/asked into the group, so he became antisocial and thought they were childish as a defence mechanism. Not the other way around!
