My parents have completely fallen for israeli propaganda. I said that it was fucked up that Israel is bombing Palestinians and they said ummm how would you feel if your friends were killed by hamas?? They are just trying to kill all hamas! And told me they were evil and burned babies. And then had the gall to use one of my american jewish friends as an example of "who hamas might target"???? Like they immediately took me defending Palestinians as an attack on all jewish people. They also do this thing where they ask for sources for everything I say and when I can't remember them or find them immediately they say "stop getting all your info from Twitter/tumblr" I'm not?? 1. I don't use twitter and 2. Any posts I see on tumblr I fact check as well as I can. I try to look at all sides of an issue and make my own opinion. I don't collect what sources I read but I do read them and I make sure they are from reputable sources (ones that aren't paid off by Israel, unlike the ones my parents look at) the scariest thing was my dad saying that Israel needed to "exterminate" all of them and I was like fucking excuse me??? And he said "exterminate hamas". Jesus fucking christ
Anyone have links to journalists from Palestine and other places that have unbiased information (i.e. not in Israels or Americas pocket) that i can give to my parents?

i was thinking about that ask i received the other day and how uncharacteristically upset the topic had made me when i usually just think "mh. gross!" and move on, and after mulling it over a while i realized it wasn't about the topic at all, it was the ask itself that freaked me out. i've mentioned sporadically before (for obvious reasons lol) that i used to be involved in fandom discourse when i was younger and that!! fucked me up quite a lot. between exacerbating my ocd and straight up getting cyber stalked (i almost feel guilty using that word, like i don't deserve it but. yeah that is 100% what happened to me), the topic is something I have very complex and personal opinions on but that i hate talking about in public because it still sets off my fight or flight response.
i know some people in the fandom are like "let me know if i ever rb someone who wrote/drew gross stuff" and that's entirely their choice and i respect it. but for the record, i am not one of these people. please, for the love of god, i am asking this genuinely do NOT come into my DMs about this, I don't want to know. assume I'm either living in blissful ignorance or my blacklist already covers me quite nicely & i wanna keep it that way. i vastly prefer the discomfort of stumbling into something unprepared and deciding what to do about it on my own, to the utter pit of dread i get whenever i open a message that starts with "hey just so you know-". i have blocked multiple people in the past over it. i WILL block more. be warned.

Saw a post abt the Sonic movies that was like "plz filter negativity posts better" which is GOOD AND TRUE you should be doing that. Ok. But then they kept going to imply that the criticisms of the Sonic movies are all entirely Personal and Ignorable and not like. This is about GOS2 but not quite -just wanted to tell you how refreshing (and calming) it is to see someone dislike something, or disagree with something, or someone (Neil, in this case) while being completely polite and respectful to people who do like it (the show, the ship, this season specifically, whatever) and not doing personal attacks or being insulting or downright hostile or aggressive. Just... Liking what you like, not liking what you don't like, and being in your own "bubble" so to speak. I adore the first season, and some moments in this one (not the season in general), and I've had to see and start avoiding absolutely wild stuff since 2019, from haughty superiority from book first fans calling people who liked the show absolute idiots, people directly attacking fanwork creators or even Tennant, Sheen and Gaiman themselves, to even worse stuff I'd rather not think about. As you can probably already imagine, that specific kind of dumpster fire has only gotten worse since the release of S2.
My take on fandom has always been to enjoy what you enjoy and ignore the rest unless it's something serious with real-world implications or consequences. It's always stressed me out how people can get, to the point that for several years I stopped engaging with fandom entirely, and I just wanted to say this, I guess, because it's been a breath of fresh air. I wish more people engaged with fictional material and fandom the way you do. Cheers, hope you have nice day and that this wasn't too weird of a message to get
This is really beautifully put, thank you for the nice message! Yeah all-in-all, these are just a show/a book/content made for people's entertainment, and there's absolutely no reason to get to the point of attacking the cast and crew or fans personally.

i thought it was redundant But that was the phrase that came to me
#the third one was just lines that happened and i didnt know what to do after that. i felt compelled to color them all after i colored#the first and now its 3 am. So. To my surprise my PEN THAT I DRAW WITH WAS AT 98% opacity this whole time#A little irritating. i have to fix it RIGHT NOW ro else ill forget and draw with that. AGAIN. (happened previously)#i suppose i havent drawn very attentively for myself recently. well you can blame Puerto rican meatball pork and rice.#OPINION: i do not like the smell of meatballs but they taste good. It takes a very long time for me to eat it because it smells bad.#I suppose hollandaise is a necessary evil because MEATBALLS STINK.
