my brain: do you ever just sit there and wonder how differently things would have panned out if maven had attached himself to cal instead of mare? if the key to his humanity was his brother and him only? do you ever think that maybe maven would know he wasn’t and couldn’t be good but he would try to be anyways so he could be close to cal (because the crux of it all was that he didn’t want to be alone)? or do you think maven would’ve ended up destroying the both of them because he knows no other way (and cal wouldn’t leave maven to destroy himself on his own)? do you ever think about how cal would’ve been the only person ever to let him stay close? do you ever think about how the entire fucking story would have changed because maven’s character would have been different since he’s a warped mirror of everything he loves (a small list)?

ok idea. what if we gave stories a free pass for one or two plot holes. "this story thread had a big hole in it" ok good to know, that must not be the main point of the story since it's got plot holes. they must have put their attention on what they thought was the important part. time to look closer at the other parts

#uhhh idk how to explain this idea right #but like....i think stories should be allowed to have mistakes. for a treat #it's like in tv shows when they had to save the budget for the final so there's reused costumes for los stake episodes #can't think of a single story thats perfect. wouldn't change anything. literally can't make a story with no flaws #sometimes the easy way around the flaw is just 'you gotta ignore that. that's not the point of the story.'#i feel like some stuff if you try and stop to explain it...it will change the focus of the story. suddenly it's a new story #like inception. entering and creating dreams is just a thing. the story just uses it. stop to explain how or why and that's something else #there wouldn't be space for the og story itd be a story about the creation of this thing #and like. listen. there are definitely some big plot holes. some poorly written stories. not saying bad stories are just misunderstood #but idk. i think you gotta stop wanting it to be flawless. that's never gonna happen #idk it's midnight hm #text #august rambles #also i tried to move a tag and it didn't work. so if the order of things doesn't make sense that's why #critical analysis hater spotted eek!#no but actually. i do like picking apart problems in stories and figuring out why it feels wrong or how to fix it #but it's almost like you gotta pick your battles. you only get to fix a few #or like. if the story is fine except for this one thing. we just don't look at that #the holes are giving it room to breathe #i gotta stop talking yikes

(Kyleigh's POV)

The holiday season at my parents place is always my favourite time of the year, I like to think the kids agree too. We packed up our RV and trailer and travelled to Brindleton Bay to spend the holidays with my parents. We're actually going to be here well into the new year, we being the kids and I, Barrett headed home soon after new years eve to head back into work. The work being done on our house is due to start once the snow has melted, and we're praying work can be done quickly so that we're not away for too long. The kids haven't spent an extended period of time away from home, but they're enjoying the time they get to be at their grandma and grandpa's house. Every winter they always enjoy playing in the snow, making snow angels and having snowball fights. This year Barrett and the older boys were able to catch great fish that are sure to keep us fed over the next few weeks.

Being that we'll be here for an extended period of time, I brought almost a months worth of shelf stable groceries with us in the trailer so that my parents' grocery bill isn't overwhelmed by all of us being here. Thankfully they have access to local farms and farmers markets where its easy to get fresh fruits and vegetables, so we go and get those as and when we need them. For Christmas we had a crown roast as the main star of the show, with loads of different sides to keep everyone full.

My parents really go enjoy having us all live with them during the holiday season, and since we're here for an extended period of time they've gone and rented a house to fit all of us. Initially we were going to split the kids up where the older ones sleep in my old bedroom, and the younger ones are in cribs/pack'n'plays in my parents room and with us in the RV. They really want to soak up this extra time they get with their grandkids and don't mind the extra work, my dad can create his own schedule so they're both excited to be hands on these next few weeks while I parent alone. Our contractors have done all the paperwork and pulled all permits necessary, all we need is good weather.

Okay question. For people(me) who think someone wearing a wedding ring is hot, why exactly do you find it hot? Hot because rings in general are hot? Or hot specifically because it's a *wedding ring*?

For me specifically, I just find rings in general hot, and I don't think too hard about the marriage aspect. Just the fact that it's a ring someone consistently wears, so there will always be ring pics! But lmk :)

as this continues to be relevant yeah idk I just think this whole RiverClan nonsense conflict would have been less annoying for me to read if RiverClan had actually descended into true chaos. a situation like Redscar’s field guide story where several cats try to claim authority. but in this case, it goes beyond just two cats fighting and the clan starts splitting into mini factions supporting one self-appointed candidate or the other. the problem being presented as “we all forgot how to do chores without a teacher permission slip :(” is so weird and lame. give me blood shed eat each other alive so i believe your plight ffs!!!

#overall: i feel it couldve done well with another season #the season started off rlly strong but the third act fell kinda flat??? it felt rushed imo and didnt fulfill a lot of the promises made #like the main thing for me is the whole zaun vs piltover conflict #in season 1 the whole point of the conflict between the two cities is that piltover oppresses zaun and the systems in place are the problem #and it dealt with class issues + police brutality #but then in season 2???? why are ppl from zaun just willingly becoming enforcers??? and fighting for piltover?#and silco talking about how the only way to end the cycle of violence is to end it yourself and not yk...changing how society is #in act 1 it was building to that what happened #THAT and how a lot of the characters felt underbaked #1. ekko got the worst possible ending despite being the one to figure out how to change timelines + defeating viktor #2. VI VI VI HOLY SHIT VI WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU #vi my babygirl who wrote ur character what happened to you #why did caitvi do it in jinx's cell??? why does vi not care that cait was with someone else??? vi and jinx not having a proper talk???#OH MY GOD and vi calling herself 'dirt' under caits nails....as someone who is from zaun saying that to someone from piltover ummmmm #idk vi just felt so strong in season 1 but in season 2 it felt like she was apologizing/blamed for things that weren't her fault #i will say though i do think mel/ambessa's and viktor/jayce's plots were rlly well done and wrapped up well #WELL i think some more elaboration on what exactly mel's power/what Black Rose is but thats nitpicky

nausicaä and princess mononoke are not The Same yes they are similar in Having Environmental Themes and A Cool Princess Character but they are very different movies. very very. nausicaä is about a societal ignorance of the nature around it its about conflict between nations and a desire for a peaceful solution. its about taking the time to research the land and animals you live alongside and challenging your current beliefs about them. its about genuine interest in and compassion for animals no one else will love. princess mononoke is about hatred and revenge and how those things can ruin you and its about humanity's impact on its environment and respect for the environment and other animals and sacred things. its about being ostracized and finding new companions and having stronger relationships with them than could ever happen between you and your original home and its about finding those relationships again despite everything. both movies are about war and nature but so are countless others even from the same studio. san isnt even the same kind of "princess" nausicaä is

i should talk about my zelda ocs more.

#theyre not just mine theyre my sisters also....we have like basic plot stuff but its mostly for fun #and whenever im like 'i wish x was in a zelda game' and then i remember i have ocs and im like ok this is canon to pizza zelda now!#i also need to actually remember to add things to the google doc instead of just saying them and then forgetting.#theyre so fun....link and ganondorf went to high school and then culinary school together...link was a cheerleader #link accidentally pulled the master sword after there was an incident at the castle when he was delivering pizza.#thats why its called pizza zelda. it is also a sequel to spirit tracks technically so #they pulled up the 'statue' of ganondorf from the sea (which at this point hundreds of years later its pretty disintegrated and only #the head and shoulders remain)#and link pulls the master sword from there. unleashing the spirit of demise which then possesses his friend ganondorf.#if it was a video game it would be turn based rpg style you start with link and then you add zelda to your party and then ganondorf.#maybe other people too. idk.
