I feel like losing my old tablet (or having to stop using it) has made it harder for me to find new hyperfixations. That may be a bit hyperbolic, but let's go through why I feel this way:

Years ago (when I was using my old tablet), I didn't have a tumblr account. Even once I made my account, I didn't use it on that tablet. In fact (if we're going back far enough), I was probably lurking here even longer than I had the account. I think I found a lot of blogs through simply googling the topic I was interested in (and maybe sometimes adding the world tumblr to the end of my search). And it was very easy. I had like 500 bookmarks on that tablet, but I also have that on the new one. So that's a normal problem with me. Anyways, it was much simpler and easier to find things then.

But now that I have an account, I've grown sedentary. I never look up new things, I never try to find new blogs or google new things to help me find a new interest. I do none of that. And I really think that not having that old tablet anymore is a big contributor in this problem. Sure the fact that I've had an awful year or two hasn't helped (my mom dying, me approaching 20 and all that), but I seriously think the tablet thing was an important factor here.

And even though I sometimes desperately want to go back to how things used to be, it's impossible in some ways. Like I'm sure I could google tumblr blogs and find things that way, but I can't search tags without accounts nowadays. If I try to, tumblr brings up a giant screen telling me to sign up, and won't let me continue to search unless I log in.

PS: Also, let's not bring fanfiction into this yet. It's true that I sometimes struggle to focus on it (and sometimes wonder if it was easier with my old tablet), but we'll save that for a possible second post. I don't have the space to go into depth about my similar issues with fanfiction right now. But I might still tag it, because why not?

Posting in this blog after an eternity because I feel like I'm going insane here and my friends are asleep so I need to dump my brainstorm SOMEWHERE (SPOILERS FOR ARLECCHINO'S BACKSTORY/SHORT ANIMATION!!)

The TLDR is basically I think that the whole story with Arlecchino and Clervie is foreshadowing for Lyney and Lynette's future

I think the parallels between Lyney and Arle don't need to be too explained for the most part. Pyro Visions, Arle wants him to be the next "king" while he doesn't seem to be too into that idea just like her younger self didn't want it, both are associated with Rainbow Roses (they both use them as ascension materials)

Plus, I'd argue they look kinda similar here. I'm not sure exactly what is that makes the resemblance, maybe a bit of the hair, bowtie and shorts and you could say it's something she has with the others too (her kid design resembles Freminet, current one Lynette) but I thought it was good to mention anyways

Meanwhile, Lynette and Clervie are the two closest companions to their respective pair

Lynette's has Lumidouce Bells as an ascension material. Clervie is very clearly represented with the same flower (if her necklace wasn't enough, there's this)

Plus, a bit of a smaller connection, but they both have clear sweet tooths

(Lyney saying "we talked about this" implies this is a frequent event. The animation showing Clervie with cake twice while it only had 7 minutes to tell the whole story has a similar effect)

So, if Lyney is a parallel to Arle while Lynette is a parallel to Clervie, where does this leave us?

Well... Not exactly in a good spot-

To be fair, I don't think Genshin would actually kill a playable character (or at least, so I hope), but it's very possible Lynette gets really hurt, either directly by Lyney or by being close to him

Arlecchino swore to be nothing like her mother, but in the end, the way she's acting towards Lyney by wanting to make him the next king may be very similar to it

Once upon a story quest, Lyney said similar words to a woman who claimed he'd end up all alone. I can only pray that the writers will have mercy at my soul and that they wouldn't go that low with a playable character

If I were to make a mildly self indulgent guess, as the Freminet main I am, I'd say that he may be the key that's going to make things turn out different for the twins. His presence is the biggest difference between the twins vs Arle and Clervie, who seemed to have no one else that was even mildly close to them. From the 4.6 trailer we know that he's the one that has been hiding stuff and we do see him blocking out Arle's attack, so I don't think it's a stretch to say he'll have a really important role in this whole thing

So yeah! If you read all my rambling, thanks I guess, hope you enjoyed it. In the end, all I can hope is that the Fontaine siblings all turn out fine for the sake of my own mental wellness because God knows these 3 stay all day spinning in my head as if it was a microwave

Also, for the record: No, I don't have a clue about what the hell is going on with Freminet apparently finding "Clervie" (ghost?? Illusion??) and hiding her from Arle. Until this short my best shot was that she was some sort of mermaid creature, but that idea is out the window so it could be anything really

No. He may like to make Akane’s life harder but this is about Aoi.

He is smart enough to know she would never tour the festival with him, much less when her other option is her not so secret crush that still gets rejected, but he still love her company, so Teru just does what he knows will work and forces her into it.

He used this exact approach after saving Aoi from being harrassed by a cashier in chap 17 of the spin-off after his more casual attempts to have her make candy with him fail.  Akane was nowhere to be seen in the chapter.

There is no cheeky panel at the end of the spin off of him gloating about it to Akane (which is one of Aidairo’s favorite brand of comedy), nor is it mentioned in any type of extra, so I am pretty sure Teru keep this moment to himself. Something private to treasure.

They don’t see each other much, so Teru will take what he can, he does not care if the only way to make Aoi keep him company is by being a shameless asshole.

And I love how casual terukane has gotten too! Akane’s arc from seeing Teru as an asshole with no empathy, to almost a hero, to a boy that can be just as pathetic and flawed as any human, is very dear to me.

I personally feel like they have been casual since chapter 79? There have been no real malice when they tease each other after their visit to the shrine.

But I do adore how the recent chapters transfer this casual energy to a school setting! 

I love how Akane sent him off to the infermary too. He goes full on ‘class prez’ mode and I love him for it! Is sweet in a stern way, specially compared to the last time Teru got hurt in school, where he couldn’t give less of a shit about Teru’s injury, in fact, he was delighted.

I also like how instead of venting about Teru he now vents to Teru. His biggest challenge is no longer ‘the sadistic demon no one realize is evil’, just the student’s incompetence.

They were never truly ‘strangers’ in a room, but it was still far more quiet? tiring? professional?? “Stay by my side so we can consult each other but focus on the work. Keep your nonsense for later” vibes

Love to see them helping the students with supernatural affairs too. Teru attack and Akane trust him to get the job done, already opening the door for the student evacuation.

And Teru doesn’t look at his surroundings at all after the rescue, fully trusting Akane to protect him while he inspects the unconscious student.

Be it supernatural work or student council work. They have a good dynamic.
