Tiffany (Girl’s Generation/SNSD) - Promise?

“Stop.. Don’t-”

“No…. Leave her alone, please!”

“Who.. Where.. What’s going on?”

Tiffany’s eyes jolted open as she heard your panicked voice. Her sleepiness faded away almost immediately, her head snapping to the side to make sure you were alright. Her brows furrowed as she listened to the pain and fear in your words, but she breathed a sigh of relief as she found you still sleeping beside her. She figured it was only a bad nightmare, which was much better than you being in actual trouble.

Your girlfriend sat fully upright, turning you on your back and shaking your shoulders. You groaned sleepily, but she had done enough to wake you, your eyelids groggily opening to see what was going on. 

When you finally snapped out of your sleep-induced confusion, your eyes widened, glad the horrible scenario you had just experienced was nothing but a dream. Tears began to well in your eyes as you recalled the events of your nightmare, leading your girlfriend to pull you into a tight embrace to calm you down.

“Hey baby, don’t cry! It’s all over now. I’ve got you.” Tiffany spoke softly, letting you cry into hre shoulder as she softly rubbed your back.

After your sobs had quietened down and your tears subsided, you finally pulled away from Tiffany’s shoulder, opting instead to look her in the eye. Her heart shattered a little as she saw you, your eyes swollen and your breathing still uneven.

“Do you want to talk about it baby?” She asked quietly, her hands cupping your face as she used her thumbs to stroke up any final tears that spilled from your eyes.

“I- It was a bad nightmare, Fany.” You hiccuped through your sentence as you felt your emotions build up as you recalled the unpleasant dream. “S- Some strange men came by and threatened to t- take you, and… and I couldn’t stop them Fany, I- I couldn’t help you!”

Tiffany waited patiently as you stuttered out, your breath jumping as your tears started to flow again. She pulled you into an even tighter embrace than before, laying down and bringing your head onto her chest.

Rubbing your back in soothing circles, Tiffany spoke again. 

“Don’t cry baby. I’m right here, and no one is going to take me from you, okay? I’m right here baby, right here.” Her voice faded to a whisper before she kissed the top of your head. You moved yourself up a little before kissing her cheek; a way to thank her for comforting you even in the earliest hours of the nighttime. She chuckled a little at your endearing actions, pressing another quick peck to your forehead.

“Are you feeling a little better now, baby?” Tiffany asked after a few more minutes, noticing your breathing had become more stable again.

“Yeah, I’m okay, Fany. But… Can I ask you something?.” You replied, snuggling slightly further into your girlfriend’s arms.

“Of course, babe, what is it?”

“You’re not going anywhere, are you? Like… You’re not going to leave, right?” 

It wasn’t often that you voiced such concerns, but after living out a scenario in your head that showed you the pain of living without your girlfriend, you realised you never, ever wanted that to happen in real life.

“Absolutely not, baby. I’m here for you forever.”

“Promise?”

“I promise.” Holding out her pinky finger, Tiffany interlocked it with your own, before pulling your hand to her lips to give it a gentle kiss.

Nodding against Tiffany’s chest, you spoke up once more. “Okay. I promise too. I love you so much.”

A yawn accompanied the end of your sentence, a clear sign that Tiffany’s cuddles truly always worked wonders in sending you to sleep.

“I love you too baby. Sleep tight.” 

With confessions of love hanging in the air accompanied by Tiffany’s tight hold around your waist, you knew that no one would ever come between you two, and that this truly was a lasting love.

I don't have anything against Mark from NCT. He was just the first one I thought of when I started doing this oneshot. I'm really sorry if some feel this story is too brutal.

Since English is not my first language, you will find many mistakes here. So sorry for that. You are always welcome to give me tips so I can improve.

"Every two years, between the first and the ninth of August, pizza delivery people disappear all over the city. And you know what, Mark? Today is the first of August and the last incident was 2 years ago. And you're working the late shift today," said the young man standing next to Mark as he slapped him kindly on the shoulder. "It was nice knowing you," he laughed. Make rolled his eyes. "That's just a fairy tale, you're just trying to scare me again, Haechan.", Mark spoke. While taking his friend's hand from his shoulder. Haechan shook his head, "No really, please take care of yourself."

It was 12 midnight, Mark would only have half an hour left, then he would be off work.

"Last order for the day, Mark." chimed in from the kitchen. Mark, who was standing behind the counter, turned and walked into the kitchen.

Kyungsoo and Suho were standing there. Suho owned the store, actually Suho owned many stores in the city. He was quite rich and bought up just about everything, so he owned almost half the town. And Kyungsoo was the cook, a close friend of Suho. The two leaned by the stove and drank a beer while sharing relationship tips.

"The pizza has to go to SooMan Street number 5. This is your last delivery today, then you can go home. We decided to close the store early today," Kyungsoo spoke. Mark nodded and took the pizza box that was lying on the table, along with the bill.

"Well then, off to SooMan Street number 5." sighed Mark as he got into the car and started the engine.

It took him about 20 minutes and then he was there. The building was just outside the city. It was an old mansion that could have come straight out of a horror movie.

Mark got out of the car and walked to the door of the house. Since there was no doorbell, he had to knock. And immediately the door was opened, by a girl in a rainbow dress. "Ah, there's our pizza. Come in quickly. It's you cold, I'll get the money. 4,50€ it was, wasn't it? I'm Yeri.", Yeri spoke and pulled Mark into the house. Behind the two of them the door slammed shut and Mark winced. And with that came 4 other girls in rainbow dresses, from 4 different rooms. And they all ran after Yeri. Mark suddenly felt dizzy and fell over.

When he came to, he was chained to a chair. The pizza he was supposed to deliver was on a plate next to him. But it was now studded with precious stones. And all at once the door opened, a girl with long black hair, in a red dress came in.

"I'm Joy, it's really great that you made it here," she said, smiling. "What the hell is going on here? Let me go!" shouted Mark. The door flew open a second time, bringing 4 girls, one of them Yeri, strolling into the room. They were all wearing red dresses now.

"Did I run into a cult or something?" asked Mark. "But no! We're not a cult after all. Even though you might think so," one of the girls spoke, and then she added, "Oh, and I'm Wendy. I'm sure Joy has already introduced herself." Joy nodded and smiled. "Those next to me are Irene," Wendy pointed to what was probably the most beautiful person Mark had ever seen. "...And Seulgi.", this time Wendy pointed to a girl who looked like she was about to murder someone.

"We plan to sacrifice you. To our nine mothers, the goddesses of women, wisdom, beauty, singing, safety, children, food, the-", Yeri enumerated until Seulgi interrupted her. "I think he gets it, Yeri." Yeri nodded and Mark immediately felt sick. If he had eaten anything, he would have thrown up for sure. "But first, let's play some games. If you win, you can leave and we'll find a new victim. But if you lose, well, we'll sacrifice you.", Joy spoke, looking pretty happy about it. "But I don't want to! Let me go! I won't tell the police either!", now Mark was crying. "Stop it! I really can't see any tears! We haven't done anything yet," Irene hissed. Wendy clapped her hands and sang, "Let's get started."

The first game was an eating contest. Mark was blindfolded and he managed to eat a mountain of Jell-O in one minute without using his hands. It took Mark exactly one minute and twenty-three seconds to eat the mountain of Jell-O.

And with that, he had lost the first game. His chance at freedom and life thus shrunk.

"Game number two!!!" said Seulgi, removing Mark's blindfold. He was no longer sitting in the room from earlier and Seulgi was no longer wearing the red dress either, now she had on an all black outfit. The two were outside and Mark was sitting on a sofa, in a backyard. His hands were tied behind his back. "Game number 2, is very simple. Yeri, Irene and I will throw knives at you. And if you flinch, you've lost," Seulgi explained with a sadistic smile. And with a 'poof', out of nowhere Yeri and Irene stood next to her. All three had knives in their hands. Seulgi was the first to throw a knife. Mark winced so hard that the knife grazed his cheek. "If you hadn't moved, the knife would have just flown by and your cheek wouldn't be bleeding," Irene said, pointing to the knife stuck in a tree. "Well, let's just start with game number three. It's also the last game. It's very simple. You run away, and we have to catch you. If we catch you, you die." explained Wendy, who was now suddenly standing next to the sofa. Joy released him from his bonds. And with that, Mark ran, crying, for his life. The five girls ran after him laughing. "I haven't had this much fun in a long time!" exclaimed Yeri.

Mark made it quite far. He made it to a public phone, outside the house. "You made it far, I'll give you that. But now you have to die." spoke Seulgi, who grabbed Mark by the shoulder and pulled him back into the house. Mark screamed for help, he cried, but no one came.

Once inside the house, Irene approached Mark with a rope. "Yeri, as the youngest, today you have the honor of killing the very first victim. Make our mothers proud.", Irene spoke and gave Yeri the rope. "Thank you Unnie. I'm honored.", she said and took the rope. Seulgi pushed Mark to the ground. And Yeri made the rope, around Mark's neck. "You know Mark, I'm really terrible at strangling people. I'm really sorry, this might take a while.", and with that Yeri went to tighten the rope around his neck. She kept doing it until he gave no more signs of life.

"One down, eight to go."

Escape -  Taeyeon Scenario

[a/n] The prompt was “go on without me”

A cold can was nudged into your shoulder forcing you to take one hand off the controller and grip the icy drink. You turned your head to the side to look at her as she shifted the mass of pillows and blankets beneath her and when it seemed she was settled and comfy you murmured “Tae…wanna try one more time or just head to bed?”

 “I come home to a lovely surprise and you expect me to end it early? I never give up baby, especially not on Mario and Sonic” Even from the side her smirk was distinct and you both leaned forward as the familiar dream events theme echoed around the apartment. Shoulder pressed against shoulder Taeyeon and you were immersed in the game, occasionally Taeyeon would fist pump when you succeeded and curse in her limited English at the thwomps as you maneuvered the rough waters.

The living room was warmly lit and laughter floated in the air and clung to the walls; it was hard to believe that this same room could be the cause of Taeyeon’s darkest days. Thinking of Taeyeon and her dark days seemed to remind you of why you were even sat on worn out pillows with a shockingly purple Wii controller in your hands at 3 am, it had always been tough on your girlfriend after a concert to come home to this vast room with no one in it so you had trundled over at 1 in the morning to warm up the flat and prepare an ultimate game on the Wii Sonic Olympics from 2012. You had to win the dream rafting event and finish the dream event series that you had stupidly showed Taeyeon by text whilst she was in Tokyo,because there was no way in hell that Kim Taeyeon would let you sleep or her before you completed the last event in the series. You’d cursed, sung and even danced through the other levels with stupid movements to keep bubbles and spaceships afloat and now you had reached the final part of your challenge, the blooper was soon approaching and you gave Taeyeon a quick peck on her forehead and in a worn out voice reminded her “after this we go to bed, I don’t care if we lose by 100 points or 5. Tomorrow you have no schedules so if the worst comes to the worst we will redo it tomorrow okay?” with a little bob of the head you knew Taeyeon was far gone, lost in the world of Nintendo and that you might just have to unplug the Wii so she’d get some damn rest.

 The raft floated into its final stage and Taeyeon yet again shifted uneasily, at some point during the events she’d ended up huddled between your legs with your arms wrapped around her although you weren’t complaining. Taeyeon had never been overly affectionate and preferred not to be so public about her skinship unlike her loud American counterpart so this gentle and calm affection suited you just perfectly to lead you into battle against the blooper. Its ten or eight tentacles (at this point you had no clue how many it had but just needed to kill them) were swiping across your raft with a great ferocity, the timer read 23 seconds left and with the pressure on you started to jump more often in an attempt to strike it. Taeyeon it seemed had jumped a little too furiously and fell off the raft and Yoshi, her character, was seen on screen to be hurtling towards the blooper in the centre of the whirlpool and there was nothing she could do. You froze and turned Mario round as if to assess whether to jump and grab her or not but before you could even roll the joystick Taeyeon yelled “Go on without me!” before flopping on your chest emphatically letting her green wii controller thud to the carpet. The raft was steered away from the blooper as the timer hit 00 and the awards ceremony rang out on screen. Neither of you cared that you had lost again as you were far more preoccupied with giggles over the sudden dramatic act. Taeyeon reached up for your face and twisted her body round to face you, with a twinkle in her eye and a slight curve of her lips she whispered “thank you y/n, seriously..it’s the first time someone’s ever truly welcomed me home so early and it was in the best way possible” before leaning in to press a chaste kiss on your cheek and then a slightly longer kiss on your lips. Her lips were soft and you’d forgotten how good it felt to kiss the Kim Taeyeon, after all it had been a few months while she was away but you intended to make up for all of the kisses you’d missed out on….although now Taeyeon needed to rest and you were dog tired too so you pulled away, loving to hear the soft whine that fell from Taeyeon’s lips as you pulled her up. Soon you were both tucked under the covers, Taeyeon lay by your side snoring softly and spreading her short limbs all around the bed but you didn’t mind. You listened to her small snores and mulled over the night trying to file the moments in your memory so you didn’t forget tomorrow.

It was at some point when you both were pressing buttons furiously to pass the course that you realised that you would give up all sleep just to see that gleam in Taeyeon’s eye and to hear her ahjumma laugh as she swung Yoshi around the edge of the raft; it was moments like this that you missed bitterly during promotions or touring when you’d come home to your single dish meals and she’d be somewhere singing or guesting. Of course there were messaging apps and facetime now that sure made it easier than when you first met Taeyeon and as you grew older with her the ache became less sharp with each tour as you knew she’d always come back to you, back to evenings of sonic and Mario, evenings of going out to get ice cream or her groceries, back to her safe place and her escape from all the press and the hustle of the idol life.

While deep below beyond the river Styx lay the realm of Hades, the home of the Gods of the Underworld, guarded by Cerberus and final resting place of souls.

These tales are now captured in pages, books, and scraps of ancient text. But what if there was a chance? What if the subtle energy floating in the air meant something more?
