Something that will always get me about this fandom is the lengths they will go to protect Talia for no reason. Like no fucking reason.

They'll complain and cry when she's written villainously even though she's been portrayed as a straight up villain since Death of the Maidens (Which gave reason to their shift).

They'll complain and cry when she's written as morally gray like her how she's been portrayed since her conception. (This means complicit with genocide of 90% of the human race and eco-terrorism along with destroying countless cultures and meddling with affairs that don't concern them. Which is a bad thing.)

Talia is not and has never been nor will ever, if she is STILL working with the league, be portrayed as MORTALLY GOOD and get in a relationship with Bruce by DC.

And the thing that will get me is that they just want Talia to be with Bruce! It's like they don't care about their characters as individuals as long as they end up together or DC makes their relationship more important that it really is/was. Not that it was a just a blip, but since like after the early 2000's, it's clear that there isn't romance in their relationship anymore. (Unless DC comes and fucks me over.)

Talia Al Ghul is a villain. From her conception as a character she has always been Bruce's adversary. Is there romantic/sexual tension, sure. Is that the same with villains like Poison Ivy, yes again.

If Talia Al Ghul stays a villain (which does mean if she still works with the LoA) she can't get with Bruce or they have to have a short, sexual, tragic FAILED relationship.

That’s not realistic. And if you are disabled don’t assume everyone deals with it the same way as you.

I’m disabled, and the idea that ppl think fizz being dumbed down to a sugar baby is bad because he’s disabled. Dawg I wish I had someone to take care of me cuz some days I don’t have the strength to do it myself.

But fizz doesn’t strike me as that kind of person, he’s worked hard to get where he is so YEAH I THINK HE DESERVES TO BE SPOILED. To be with someone who doesn’t see him as a burden. Or ugly because of his loss of limbs or scars. Seeing him as a person. If Ozzie is overprotective it’s because he loves him, NOT that he thinks he can’t take care of himself.

Me personally, coming from someone who never got sick. Never needed help and now I have to learn how to limit myself, how to rely on other people. It’s hard as fuck to do, especially when you’re deeply self independent. If he leans on Ozzie for help, I THINK THATS FAIR.

Ppl also don’t seem to understand the idea of story writing for shows, cuz yeah some things aren’t going to be addressed or show explicitly, but that’s where we use our heads and use our thinking chair and go ‘hey, the show doesn’t really go that deep into this, I really wanna write about it’ GO OFF MY DUDE. Cuz that’s just kind of how it is !!

I wish for more diabetic things to be shown then just seeing a character with a pod on their arm. Getting a low and their partner helping them through it. I’d love that, but I also know it’s not gonna be shown if it’s not always going to be shown if it’s not the main focus of the show.

The more I get to know my other illnesses I know I probably won’t ever see them on a big screen. I make do. But uggh it’s just so annoying when ppl try to take away what I really think it’s pretty great. And no one has to agree, if you are disable and you feel it’s not enough that’s absolutely fine. But not everyone has to agree, not everyone has to see their disability the way you do. And you also have to respect that.

We're All Mad Here

My favorite week of the year that has nothing to do with J or our son is this week. I love the NCAA tournament. J bought me a live TV service to get all the games and the selection show tomorrow (he does this every year because he loves me; he also tells me to go in the kitchen or he's gonna turn off the games if I get too worked up because he loves me).

I told my best friend of 30+ years that I lived D/s with J and found out he lives it with his partner too, because of tournament week (specifically watching Kentucky play). It went like this:

Me: Fuck! (Kentucky missed a critical shot; they're all critical in March) <starts nervously pacing>

J: You need to go in the kitchen. Or I'm going to change the channel.

Me: But you won't even tell me what's happening. :(

J: Text A. He'll give you the score and the time. You're getting too upset actually watching it. Me: <pout face> J: Kitchen. Text A.

Me to A on text: Hey. J said I'm not allowed to watch the UK game, so can you text me the scores and shit please? I know you're watching.

A: <Score; Time left in half> J said you're NOT ALLOWED to watch? ???

Me: He like...CARES about my health and anxiety and shit. You know. <eye roll>

A: Oh. So the game WAS on. But you're pacing or something.

Me: Yes. Update me.

A: <Score; Time left in half> So...he said stop watching and you just stopped?

Me: Yes.

A: <raised eyebrow emoji>

Me: Look if I could watch UK without having my blood pressure raise, he wouldn't send me in the other room. It's...*loving.*

A: I think I got it. You know S <his partner> is also a UK fan. So she'd never tell me I couldn't watch the game. Because she understands the need to watch it. She just accepts that the cardiac event that eventually kills me will be Wildcat basketball related. That's what you get for marrying a Hoosier (J is from Indiana and he's a car guy; he's not even that into basketball, which is why he can just casually watch tournament games).

Me: Is...S pretty much like J? Except for the Hoosier part? (I know that implication was really subtle, but A and I have known each other for a long time).

A: Yeah. Now you know that. But we've always been kinda leading parallel lives, you and me. <shrug>

I'm watching a local team play against my favorite all time college head coach for a conference championship right now. It's awesome. I'm ready for a bunch of upsets even if UK doesn't get into the bracket this year; even if one of the upsets is UK. I'm ready for Reggie Miller (huge crush since like 1990) calling games. I'm ready for wall to wall games on Thursday and Friday.

Not to be nasty, but fuck Christmas; THIS is the most wonderful time of the year.
