SID JENKINS X F!READER
angst + comfort hc fic drabble thingy
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
(a/n) nobody requested this, i just made one of my friemds choose 1 or 2 to figure out if i wanna write for sid or freddie, made her choose the format and the genre and then i left her alone😽🎀 (luv u pooks<3)
also girl im listening to some fuck ahh the nbh rn, kill me (i love it, i chose it)
warnings: profanity (its skins, what did you expect?), reader has boobs (very silly goofy, ik.), i think it could be read as gn reader but when i wrote it i had myself in mind so... f!reader?..., also michelle and tony are brefly memtioned at one point (as chelle and tone iykyk), also might contain spoilers(as in, it does contain spoilers)
---------------------------------------------------------
•summer is a season both you and your boyfriend, sid, hate dearly;
•you still had sleepovers, only at this time of the year, the heat left over from the day before made it unbearable to sleep like you usually did (which was usually one of you on top of the other if im being honest);
•so here you sat now, layed out on sids bed, a thin sheet covering one of your legs and your lower abdomen, trying to maybe get at least an hour or two of shut eye before the sun would rise once again;
•sitting there, you felt your boyfriend shuffle in his sleep. you didnt think much of it seeing as he often moved while sleeping, until you felt his arm thrown across your abdomen;
• you let him be, thinking that was going to satisfy his yearning for physical contact, but you were wrong;
•not even a couple of minutes later, he rested his head on your chest while his arms hugged you, his hands interlocking behind your back;
•you tried desperately to cool off, kicking the sheets off of your body. unfortunately your attemptes fell unsuccesfull as the obvious heat sorce sitting on top of you had not moved;
•gently lifting him up and laying him next to your spot on the bed, you got up. "ugh, wanker..." you looked at the sleeping teenager next to you. some sheets tangled between your legs made you trip but you cought yourself on his desk, knocking over a few late assignments he had yet to turn in. "well, its not like he would ever get to doing them anyway" you tought as you regained your composure and left the room heading for the stairs.
•you now sat on top of the counter of his kitchen, a glass of cold water in hand from which you periodicly took small sips;
•the only thing you could focus on was the ice cold water sooting your agony as it seemed to indeed help you cool off after the encounter with the sleeping form of your boyfriend;
•"there you are" you heard sids voice come from behind you, a sheepish smile plastered on your face at the tought that his first concern after waking up was you;
•"oh, NOW you wake up" you giggle to yourself as you feel his elbow resting next to you on the counter;
•"what do you mean?" he asks you, tiredness evident in his tone "i mean, yea, ive been sleeping good, but did you try to wake me up or something?";
•"nah, didnt wanna interupt your beauty sleep" you nudge his side playfully "god knows you need it"; "it was just too hot up there, especially with you resting your head between my tits";
•he gasped dramaticly "i would never do such a thing!" ... "sid you and me both know you stare at 'chelles tits whenever we see her and tone' so cut the bullshit" "yea, youre right, im looking at yours right now and they look..." you punch his arm as a warning to not continue what he planned to say;
•"sid, hon, its hot as bollox back in your room, so as much as im flatered by your comments on my great personality id prefer we sleep a little farther apart tonight. you know, just so i dont spontaneously combust while you focus on my boobs on eather side of you head";
•sid slightly laughes before pausing. "can we... go back to bed please?" he avoids your gaze after saying that, making you drop your teasing tone. "sure sid" you say as you hop down from where you were sitting, placing the glass near the sink"are you okay?" you ask your boyfriend,
•"yea, why wouldnt i be?";
•"well, for starters you not only woke up, vut also got out of bed? at 4 am? you?";
•"i didnt know where you went, okay? i just..." he sighed and looked at the floor "i dreamt i lost you too, you know?";
•"well shit..." you murmur as you aproach the boy in front of you;
•you reach out your hands, cupping his face to make him look at you; "look, im here, see? im fine, you dont need to worry, okay?" you say as you reach on your tippy toes, giving him a quick peck before letting yourself fall to your normal height once again;
•"yea... i know" he smiled down at you before continuing "so... can we go now?";
•"sure dude" you smiled back at the boy in front of you before taking his hand and leading him back to his room upstairs;
•its safe to say you didnt get much sleep that night, seeing as he climbed on top of you once again as soon as he feel back asleep, but you didnt get up again; sure, you did try to push him off of you a couple of times, but seeing his persistence you gave up quickly;
---------------------------------------------------------
random ahh hc:
after his mom leaving and his dad dying, bro was an emotional wreck;
he became even more clingy than before, trying to somehow make sure you wont leave him too;
so, in return, you had to make sure he knew how much you cared for him;
you know how he followed tony everywhere? and how he showed up at his house? yea, well scratch that, youre his tony now. he shows up at your house unnanounced and ends up sleeping with you on your bed just because he feels like it. like, this of the codependency between him and tony and youve got the general idea of how hed act and what hed do. (their relationship was nothing if not low key homo erotic. well, at least on tonys part ig-);
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
okay so thats it guys omg
(i havent written anything in a very long time so im sorry if its ass lmao)
anyway, feel free to point out any spelling mistakes or anything like that, i really dont mind
other than that, have a great rest of your day/night!

I want to go back. Do it again. Do it better. I swear i would be good i want to be small again and not have this big body yet and have a future that was unclear and i would do it differenlt i could be good i swear.
I dont want to be here i dont know how to do this its so fucking hard all the time. I hadnt even considered if i was still depressed with everything else going on. Until someone memtioned finding it hard to feel joy. Being tired. Being bored. Unsatisfied.
I guess i forget how other people live. What they live without. What i live without. I went to a games night where everyone had a career and a degree and a car and an apartment with a cat and i had a seizure on the couch for twenty minutes and slept the entire next day to make up for three hours of small talk and a card game.
Ive done it all right. I took my meds. I ate. I tested my blood sugar. I didnt run around and do cartwheels. I did my exercises. I spoke to friends i got ten hours of sleep. Its not enough its never enough its never fucking enough and i cant do more or try harder and after everything im still in pain and tired and my brain cant muster enough energy to plan beyond the next few hours,
My mom emailed me and wants to know about my life. I dont want a life. Im so sorry to everyone, but most of all to myself. To little me who so desperately wanted to be.

freshman year. he somehow was already known as 'the pretty underclassmen with astounding volleyball skills.' and they couldn't have been more right.
you were the same age as him. yet you lacked most of the things he didn't. he was tall and slender. which you weren't. he was athletic. when you looked in the mirror, you felt like you couldn't be. he was popular. yeah, a lot of people knew of you. but you wouldn't say you had the friends he had. or people liked you as much as him.
he was out of your league.
atleast in your opinion.
but when he saw you with his own eyes. he couldn't stop.
the way your hair flowed, the sparkle in your shiny eyes. the way your lips slightly parted when you wanted to say something but held back.
your body.
...
"excuse me?"
his voice rang through your ears as you passed him from after your club. you stopped in your tracks and turned to face him.
you pointed at yourself with a raised brow. "me?" your voice was like music to his ears, while you thought it was grainy and annoying.
"yeah. you." his tone of voice sent nerves through your body. suddenly, you were even more self-conscious. you tugged the back of your skirt down a bit, hoping you hadn't flashed him as you passed by. then you tucked some hair behind your ear.
little did you know that made his heart skip a beat. for once. he was nervous. "You're gorgeous." with a serious look in his eyes, his brown ones met your glossy ones.
when your eyes widened, he mentally fist bumped the air. happy that he was able to get a reaction out of you. "t- thank tou-" you fumbled over your words for a moment as your face began to flush.
"sorry- I meant thank you." you tried to tuck your hair behind you ear again. only for it to already have been.
"Whats your name?" He tried acting smooth, realizing he had a chance.
a soft smile graced your lips. "l/n, y/n l/n."
as you said your name, his eyes were focused on your lips. and the way they moved to introduce yourself.
"it's nice to meet you, oikawa!" you perked.
he seem surprised that you knew his name, so his eyes shot straight to look into yours. "how-" he stopped.
"how are you so pretty? genuine question from one pretty person to another!"
you laughed. and.
his heart stopped.
"w-would you mind if we, um." He rubbed the nape of his neck before looking down quickly.
when he did, he saw how your fingers interlocked with one another, and he couldn't help but wish that one day one of your hands would be replaced with his.
"would you like to go to the movies?" He looked up.
your eyes widened one more and your smile dropped. you didn't expect this. "oh-! u-um yeah! here I'll give you my number." you pulled out your phone.
looks like Oikawa Tooru just scored a cute date.

How do you think Digimon Frontier might have gone if the Spirits of Steel, Wood, and Earth had been bequeathed to Ophanimon, the Spirits of Darkness and Water had been bequeathed to Seraphimon, the Spirits of Flame, Light, Ice, Wind, and Thunder had been bequeathed to Cherubimon, and the protagonists had been Katsuharu, Teppei, Chiaki, Teruo, and Koichi (with Kouji joining later)?
im just gonna ramble whatever comes to mind lmao. i drew some stuff too!
uuh while i find it hard to care too much about those other kids because well, I don't know much about them, it is really fun thinking about how kouichi would act if he was there from the start. I think he'd be serious, in a similar way to Kouji, bc he's there on a mission, y'know! All he remembers is following his brother around until Kouji gets some weird text message (wait,,, does kouichi have a phone? probably not, huh. poor people gang ftw...) and now hes in this fuckin place! (hes a dead soul in this au too.) I'd imagine he'd be just as driven as Kouji was, if not more so, bc he KNOWS koujis gotta be here somewhere....but instead of initially trying to avoid the other kids (koujis strategy), he'd probably stick around as soon as he realizes that theyre gonna get themselves killed if they keep acting stupid. So, instead of trying to ditch the kids or act distant, he'd nag them and rush them to stay on track, and come off as kind of a bossy stick-in-the-mud at first
Side note, its easy to think of kouji as being a lot more serious and mature compared to the rest of the frontier kids, but honestly, I have to wonder if he wouldve acted differently if ophanimon wasnt calling him all the damn time telling him that he has to find answers! hes gotta get stronger! theres something he Has To Know!!! like damn if ophanimon was that specific with the other kids they'd also probably be just as sullen. anyway, kouichi would be feeling the same kind of pressure.
Tumblr media
in an attempt to make it more interesting for me, chiaki and teruo are now siblings. or close cousins. or something. (what if they were fraternal twins?? that would be so funny actually. there is a statistically improbable amount of twins here!) AND bc i like chiaki the most i think she'd make a cool leader of sorts! like, the lancer to kouichi. kouichi ends up accidentally being the leader bc hes so driven, and chiakis like, a genuinely nice person who really wants to help the digital world as soon as she steps off the first trailmon onto the flame terminal. she also doesnt take shit from anyone. maybe she was a quiet wallflower-type kid at school, but, if its for another's sake, then she'll always speak up! so now, in the digital world, she cant stay quiet!
ah i love just making shit up. this is fun
so together, they make the most chillest leader/lancer duo ever. (hey, if they WERE to be the two Main Ones, wouldnt it be cool if their Susanoomon-type evolution was deep-sea themed? mix darkness and water together, and you get The Fucking Abyss. it could be bioluminescent! a cool way to turn "light into darkness!")
btw, im not drawing any spirit forms here bc I think these kids would have alternative spirit forms as opposed to the evil ones in the show. like, heroic looking ones (basically, no child deserves to have to spirit evolve into grottomon) BUT im no good at character design and that sounds like a lotta work. also, the other spirits (fairymon, chakkmon, agnimon, etc,) would need evil forms too then, right?? that sounds like a REALLY hard thing to try drawing, so nah. just imagine these kids spirit evolving and fighting offscreen. speaking of the other spirits though,
Tumblr media
i want chakkmon/tomoki to try pummeling the shit out of katsuharu and teppei!! karmas a bitch!! tomoki didnt get to have his character development in this AU, bc he (probably) fell off the trailmon train tracks and got Got by cherubimon!
i like the main frontier kids too much to not include them in everything i draw Ever, so imagine that maybe they all came to the digital world alone, and wandered around until they found their respective spirits (in similar circumstances to the show) but since those spirits belongto cherubimon, theyre possessed/convinced to fight on cherubimons side!! like "oh shit i have no friends and i hate my life, yea this big evil bunny has a point lets go fuck shit up". maybe some of them are fully in control of their actions, maybe some arent. maybe some of them remember that theyre human, but maybe some of them dont....?
lastly, i have to apologize bc i got completely sidetracked bc i thought "oh takuya and kouji would be very funny as team rocket-esque villains" so heres flamon and strabimon but Evil™
Tumblr media
i like to imagine that theyre the Most Incompetent of cherubimons Evil Guys but theyre the only two (that cherubimon knows of) that can form susanoomon so THATS why hes trying to collect all the spirits. bc of that, they DEFINITELY dont remember that theyre human. (bc of that, they also kind of dont have anything to care about, so theyre just trying to have fun)
it would be fun if they were initially kind of lame but although they may be idiots, theyre not Dumb, so they slowly become competent at the same rate as the Heroes do, and instead of a sephirothmon arc theres like.......a beowolfmon and aldamon arc??? im not a writer i dont know. watch these five kids (and counting!) get slowly hunted by two fucking Beasts in the darkest forest ever.
or maybe they do Actually manage to collect all the spirits but it goes so horribly wrong and now theres like ten goddamn kids and ten spirits mashed up in the psyche of a very unstable susanoomon and its just some fucked up Twisted psychological nightmare. digimon evangelion.
basically in this AU, there is even MORE wild tone shifts and the plot goes Absolutely Fucking Bonkers. and takuya's cosplaying Jotaro Kujo for some fucking unknown reason.
thank you for asking! this was....probably not what you were going for, but c'est la vie

i love that at work we share anecdotes we’ve dug up in our research w one another in a very gossipy way, and, like, i do end up looking up some of it myself if i really feel like sharing it w guests, but a lot of the time its just a vague story that i know i believe bc emily told me and i trust her to have good sources, but it also feels very in-character to be like “im not going to tell anyone this bc it might not be true, but my friend said that my neighbor henry has been tricking college kids into eating laxatives out of spite, and thats just information i have now”

Nothing More Difficult than Love
Chapter 22
Gif by: @thomasshelbyltd
I'm back, still no definite schedule lol
Cw: slight racism,homophobia and use of a slur, some antisemitism and memtions of past death in the family.
Tumblr media
Grace’s first gala as the future Mrs. MacMillan in New York is met with curious stares and stifled gasps.
“She tried to have Mr. Riley's poor niece deported, so she could steal her husband. What a tramp!” She overhears a society woman tell Clive’s mother and dough faced sisters.
“Mrs. de Souza says she isn’t to be trusted with proper ladies like Miss. MacMillan nor with your good and honest Clive.”
“Miss Burgess is a witch from hell, Mr. Riley told my husband that we are not to invite her to any events he will be attending. He cannot stand her.”
It was then that Grace had had enough and sought refuge in the empty library.
Or at least it had seemed empty when she closed the doors behind her.
“You must've thought you’d seen the last of us.” Israel de Souza smirked as he and the Jew appeared drinking wine on the large emerald green couch.
“I did.” The blonde admits wondering what sort of thing he has up his sleeve.
“Uncle wants you killed, as does Churchill and the Crown, but Eva wants you to live.” The queer man says as he pretends this is was just innocent small talk.
He was harmless, not a soldier, not a criminal.
That faggot wouldn’t hurt her.
The Jew, however, was a legend amongst the agents of the Crown.
She had been one of their best before she handed her resignation and started working independently.
Florence, that was the name she had used at the wedding, was skilled enough to make her death look like an accident.
“Why to feed off my misery?” she asks with a scoff.
“No, believe it or not, Eva is not as pro-murder as the rest of us.” Israel explained as he poured her some whiskey. “Had you touched anyone else, they would’ve killed you with their bare hands after hunting you for sport, but Eva says her killing days are in the past and thinks you’re not a real threat like your former superior.”
“There is a gangster in Boston, Irish mobster named Jack Nelson. He works for the Americans from time to time, and he needs a high society wife of Irish blood now that his good friend, Mr. Roosevelt, has his eye on the White House. If you were to marry him, the Crown wouldn’t be able to touch you.” Florence speaks, still as friendly and charming as she had when they met, but this time Grace knows better.
She placed her trust on the wrong people and now she was here thanking a Jew for her mercy.
Her father would be turning in his grave, he had raised her to dislike those who weren't like them and now she owed her life to two mexicans and jewish woman.
“Funny, isn’t it? You are now to marry the Thomas Shelby of America if you don’t want the government you served to kill you.” Israel smirked.
"You wanted Eva’s husband and now you have Eva’s life." Florence chuckled. "Exiled. Hated by her own people. Marrying a gangster you've never met.
Karma never loses an address, doesn’t it?”
Three weeks later, Grace Helen Burgess Curran marries John Patrick ‘Jack’ Nelson in a lavish affair worthy of a queen.
----
“I haven’t had a vision in almost two months.” She whispers when she just can’t fall asleep at night. Tommy can’t sleep either, he’s tried when Eva’s insomnia acts up and Eva can’t sleep when he’s up at night.
“Has that happened before?” he asks pulling her close, letting her snuggle up against him like cat.
“After Gabriel---” she tries to say the words, but the knot in her throat won’t let them pass.
“We’ll go to the midwife tomorrow if you’re worried about Charlie.” He’s afraid too, its there she can feel it in the air.
They’d named their baby boy, they’d bought all the things for him, she feels him alive inside her, it can’t be that. She’d die if their baby died inside of her.
Eva shook her head. She knows it’s not that.
“No, I need to consult a witch.”

Imagine explaining essential oils to Ravus
Tumblr media
“You know you don’t have to stick, you can look around if you want to” you said, hoping he didn’t think that you were rude. You were stressing out a lot and also getting internally paranoid so when the guys wanted to stop in Lestallum, you were all for it. Ravus decided to go with you, because apparently he feels awkward with Iris, Talcott, and Jared. you get it though, You’re not very comfortable with people either. “I don’t understand how these are a necessity for you” without looking to face him you answered him “hm, they help me keep calm” you put down the eucalyptus and went for the lavender, which is what you came for. You took the bottle that said try me and gave it a whiff, then you gestured it towards Ravus suggesting that he do the same. “No thank you” he thought he didn’t look disgusted but he did.
“What do these...oils, provide for you?” He asked. “Well, it depends on which one, they all do something different. Like, uh, lavender” you gestured to the small vile in your grasp “it calms my nerves, it stops the mosquito bites from itching, and so on.”
You noticed how Ravus’ eyebrow quirked ar your memtion of the mosquito bit. Since he’d started traveling with you guys he’d become a feast to the mosquito’s of countless scourges. “I’m gonna take an extra” you said with your eyes closed as if you didn’t know what he was planning. “Yes” he hummed. How cute you blushed.

And not to memtion that so little of the total energy gets spent into radiation - it's easier for heat to be conducted into the air, or convected away, so the magnitude of the pure thermal radiation is only a small hint of what's to come :D

41 Days Before Christmas
It was a really really boring Saturday for me. I need to deal with my team mates the whole day as Dade is not around, today is his off. I don’t have someone else to talk to when I feel really bored or when I feel sad or when I feel uncomfortable.
I was talking to them the whole day and I mostly lead the conversation. I am well aware with the things that we are talking about. We talked about the flood in Cagayan, business and work.
I finally dropped the order of the Start Up merch and looking forward to get it next week. I have been planning to be too busy next week so I can push through my jobs. He was really weird when he grabbed the merch of Start Up. We talked about it and he is looking lately.
He wore my jersey again and he kept on flexing his armpits and I am slowly dying and literally attracted to him. I stopped myself looking at him cause I really feel hot. I feel like I wanted to have an intercourse with him which I highly doubt to happen. I don’t know. I really need to make myself stronger so I will not let those things happen.
I heard him earlier when we were talking about businesses, life and self developemt, he memtioned to my team mates that he is amazed with me. I really got used to speak in a bunch of people, discussing things that I know and nurturing the young minds. I somehow dreamed of to be a speaker addressing things to them, educating and inspiring people.
Those small interactions we have doesn’t affect me at all. I tried to think about that hecwill never liked me. Everyone around sees that already, it’s just me that keep myself blind. I wonder on thr next coming days, how are we proceeding? Are we really meant to go farther than this? Or this is already the end.
I wish nothing but peace and clarity this year end. I am hoping that I could finally let myself out of him and be comfortable on seeing others. I need to get my life really sorted and organized cause I have been madly and crazy in love more than a year already and it doesn’t feel good.
I mean I will always cherish our good moments and some of the little hopes in me is still burning. If only I could be enough for him. If only I could be better than his lovers.
I wish I was better. I wish I was enough. I wish I was him.
Good night.
PS: I am still waiting for the episode 9 of Start up.
Love always,
Iyaaan

Part 7
He'd borne his punishment with as muvh pride as he was able, knowing the children who made his life difficult were spemding their time in recuperation knowing he could easily harm them if they pushed him past tolerance. Even with his claws reduced to mere stubs, his peers had been alot more careful around him after that. Most of them, anyway. The garderner's son, a Golden Jackal by the name of Tabaqui, had taken to following him around when the pup was not working on tasks for his parents. Unlike the othwr children his little display of violence had apparently interested the older boy wherw it left others terrified. The most dramatic thing that the pup could recall happening before the fight had been an outbreak of the Bubonic plague following a particularly heavy rainy season(which had then been followed by a drought of all things vecause the weather in Bombay was nothing if not contradictory) but that that had been different. The bodies dropping A tiger cub enacting vengence upon those who had treated him poorly was far more predictable than a deadlt disease that struck without warning and had been responaible for takung the lives of four servant abs one of thw master's children. So, feeling he hed wanted to be associated with the tiger cub. He was not offering friendship. Instead he seemed content to be his talkative shadow. Lungri had no idea what to make about the strange vhange of evwbts, but as long as the pup left him undisturbed, he let him be. Following that incident he had started to pick fights of his own just to remind them of his prowess. He was no one's victim and if they wanted to scarw him thet would learn he wasnt one to be trifled with. In these moments he liked to pretend he was a deadly warrior king visting his revenge upon a clan of unruly bandits tht had invaded gis home. When he visited his wrath upon them he made it abundantly clear that if they nade any attempts on him again they knew he would not hesitate to show them exactly what had made his ancestors so deadly. In doing so he was giving up on the chance of friendship but it had always been an impossible goal anyway. He was better than them anyway, or so ge tried to convince himself. A part of him had briefly hoped things would change when his mom married a man who was outside the caste system. Tigers didnt usually form bonds outside of what they had with a parent. So, in the absence of the one that would normally form between a cub and their mother, he had hoped he could build one with his stepfather. As usual, he did not get what he wanted. The man had been friendly but he had gently informed the child that he wasnt qualifiwd to be anyone's father. The child in him wanted to tell him that in marrying his mother he had volunteered to be fathet by default. But you couldnt force someone to genuinely think of you as family. He would have already done so with his mother just in case she didnt feel for him what he felt for her. But his mother was not one incluned to abide by neediness. Demanding love and attention from her had never gotten him anything but cold anger and imposed silence. Why would the cook be any different? And if the behavior would only alienate gim further there was no point in seeking to begin with. It was logical to put it bwhind him. He was intelligent enough to recognize the futility in demanding something if the action did not earn him the desieef respomse. but beneathw the grudging acceptancw he seethed in anger. Adults were all the same. They diaplayed perfectly painted puctures of domesticity snd scorned hin when he wanted a piece of that to call his own. He may have solmnly accepted rhat the man would be father in name only, but in the aafty of his own thoyghts he cuesed the man for the rejection. He could have pretended to accept him as a son. Lungri was no mind readet. Instead he knew the man hadnt thought of him as sych at all and hed mentallu added yet another item to his bullet list of impossible dreams. But by saying he hadnt wanted to be "anyone's fathwr" in general instead of stating he hadnt wanted to be his father specifically he had unknoeingly presented himself as a target. It wasny his fault his stepfather hadnt wanted him so the blame lay instwad on the personal failings of the man who had married his mother. And he was more than happy to blame the adult rayher than himself for having done something to make the man dislike him. He prefered raging at othets in his head to rhw senseless repetitive wishes he had if he dwelt too long on hos lot on lifw. If he didnr aim those feelinga at external forces he would be thw ine subjectwd to them instead. And if he was the one to recieve all his bittwrness and anger he felt he would surely drown in the black morass of his emotions. His mother's status within the household had risen with her marriage(and lowered within society proper) but Lungri's position had not been affected. The man was not his biological father nor was he adopting him, which meant his caste remained the same. He was a herder, just as his grandfather had been beforw him. He had darkly observed that it was almost as if nothong had changed. He still recieved hust as little of the attention he wanted as he had always lacked. He had still been bren born handicapped, even something as relativelt small as a lame paw meant hr would be prevented from inheriting money or land by law. So upon learnibg he would not be forming any familial bonds with his step father, he chise to ignore the marriage and the cook himself outside work. It was a surprisingly easy thing to do. Perhaps the years he had spent maintaining a professional distance from his mothet made ignoring someone who shared no relation to him simple by comparison, or maybe he was kust givibg the man yge cold shouldet for denying him a familial tie hed always thought hed needed but thats how things were between himself and the man who was his stepfather. The cook was friendly but distant in returm. Strangly, the samr coulf be said of the relationship between the man and his mother. They worked together but they did not have the same sense of intimacy hed witnessed between ths gardener and his wife, the grass clipper. To his knowledge, neither his mother or the man she'd married had even seemed to sharw a bed. He tried not to question the arrangement out loud, but it was odd to say the least. When hed seen the cook embrace the man who tended the master's horse a suspicion had grown in his mind but he had opted not to ask hin outright, once his mother who had been with him ordered him to drop the subject. If he was right it had explained some things about his mother and stepfather that hadnt sat well witj him, but it also left him questions hed wanted answeting. Foremost in his mind was what kept them together if neorher party cared for the other in marriagable ways and what prompted their decision to get togethwr in the first place. Hed needed to talk to someone about it. Having no friends of his own and knowing his mother well enough to realize she would not answer any of his questions, hed brrn forced by necessity(all these secrets had left him fit to burst) to corner Tabaqui about it during dinner. The other boy was an entire year older than him and he had felt the disparity when those amber had looked at him increfulously, surprisef to learn the cub had honestly never heard of storied kf men who slept with men and wete caught by the authorities. Lungri hadnt anf had bitten yhe insi his hims. Out of all the sexual talk hed heard, it had been the British who had instigated it. His fellow wervants had never seen fit to discuss such subjects frankly without the master or one of his gueat's prompting them ob the matter. That wasnt to say rhe subject wasnt discussed. Or even that it wasn't broufht up somewhat frequently. The real difference was that moat seemed content to skirt around the acrua detaila, relying on euphimisms to get the point across while yhw English wetw generally quirw drynk ehen thwy brought it up and sometimes had a language barrier . Tabaqui hd onlu snorted at that, anf stolen a bit of the bread off his plare. The boy was hobestlt the most irrevalent person he knew, dismissive of cultural norms and people in general. Je chose to follow thr young tiger around when hr wasn't workinh because he found it amusing. Hw had settled down stealing a bit of his audience's rice and in a soft whisper casially spoke of the punishment q people, those of every religion he knew, were keen on leveling against those seen as sexually abnormal. He had found himself disturbed. Both by what had been described and how easily the boy spikr of such horrors, like an elderly woman discussing a friend's trouble with a rebellious daughter, he was simply too cheerful about the suffering of others to be entirely comfortable in his presence. Tabaqui hsd then topped it off with a casual memtion og men who married womwn to hide their identity like a performer might wear a mask. Lungri had decided from that point on he would not discuss matters with any especially dark answers with the other boy. He seemed to like it a little too much to be entirely comfortable.

Must Read for any SBRE Mr.Burk breaks down the fundamentals of SBRE. My only request is that Mr.Burk would have delved a bit more into Asset Underwriting! Go to Amazon
Good book on what to oay attention to. Excellent book on the top points to evaluate when raising capital from non-institutional sources (usually small balance real estate entrepreneurs). It would have added a lot if it had a few insights on why choosing one structure versus another. It only memtions which points to pay attention to, but not the implications of each. Go to Amazon
This Book Could Have Saved Me a Year of Trial and Error I picked up this book at a note conference and it is the most comprehensive book I've read on the subject of raising money for Small Balance Real Estate (which is a term for what I've just discovered is what I've been investing in since 2011.) It pretty much addresses all the issues I encountered with my first fund and will help make my next fund an order of magnitude more effective because now I understand the recent changes from the JOBS Act and how to put them to work for me. The book is remarkably well written which is something of an anomaly (as most real estate/mortgage people are not full time authors). It is a quick read (maybe 2 or 3 days) for the busy entrepreneur and I highly recommend it. Go to Amazon

I have been in the business of raising money and investing in real estate for over 40 years and I know no better resource than Matt's book to steer the real estate entrepreneur through the trials and tribulations one can have in raising and investing other people’s money (OPM). If you are interested in taking advantage of the massive opportunity available in today's real estate industry and intend on using OPM to make money for yourself and others, then save yourself virtually decades of trial and error and follow Matt's simple, brief, no frills treatise on the subject. I believe the information in that book could end up being priceless to you. Go to Amazon
