Oh, I love her! Too cute, tiny 1930 hacienda in Spokane, WA has 1bd, 1ba, 486 sq ft, $270K. I would move right in, if WA wasn't clear across the country from me.
Surrounded by a wall and fence, it's like your own private little fortress.
Isn't this sweet? A little sitting area in front of the wood stove. They have a table for 4 made out of an antique sewing machine base, for dining, in front of the kitchen, and there's room for 2 larger chairs on the side.
Look at the details, like the little niche in the wall.
Cute little kitchen and I like the stairs going up to the sleep loft. I would probably reconfigure the kitchen- at least get an island with a counter and some storage.
The kitchen could use a nice Mexican tile backsplash and a small exhaust hood over the stove.
Under the sleep loft there's a bath and some shelving.
Is that a washer/dryer?
Very nice shower.
View of the sleep loft.
I don't think that I would use the loft- Where the armoire is, I think that I would put a Murphy bed and move the love seat over.
Then, I would remove that built-in bench and put an armoire next to the window, b/c there are no closets. Maybe, I would even remove the shelving and make a closet there, too. I would reconfigure it all.
A nice outbuilding. Was this a chicken coop?
Inside it's a great storage shed.
The yard is pretty.
So, when I saw all of this firewood, I went back to see if the wood stove is the only heating source, but it's not. There's a gas furnace.
Look at the nice covered patio.
There is quite a large front yard that has potential.
The corner lot measures 6,098 sq ft.

Follow-up to my house tour post, here are all the lovely homes I visited today!
@candycryptids - Aether, Siren | Lav Beds W11 P25
Your home was so cozy, and I absolutely love the use of the space you were given! The sunken couch area downstairs was an instant fave. I love those types of living area layouts. <3
I also may have been a gremlin and went in your walls fish tank. :3c
Overall, very lovely place! Highly recommend visiting! <3
@scholarlostintime - Crystal, Zalera | Mist W9 P20 & Crystal, Mateus | Lav Beds W19 P57
I'm sure a lot of us here on tumblr are familiar with the Cracked Cluster, it's a beautiful venue! And I finally got around to touring the whole place today!
I gotta say, both of your homes are lovely and very well-decorated!
The one in the Mist is so classy and very reminiscent of Sharlayan!
Whereas the Cluster is very cozy, and you can definitely see the inspirations from Mor Dhona!
Overall, these are both very lovely places, and definitely worth checking out! Especially on a night when the Cracked Cluster is open for business!
@selnyam - Crystal, Malboro | Lav Beds W27 P49
Oh goodness, this place was so cozy and colorful! I love the use of the space, and the little bedroom area was so cute and spooky!
I did love this warm little nook though, perfect for a cat nap. :3c
Hope you and your friend's roulettes went well, and thank you for having me!
Overall, absolutely adorable forest abode with a touch of the void! Definitely worth stopping in!
@vasheden - Crystal, Malboro | Lav Beds W29 P29
First off, amazing location. I love that little cottage with the bridge so much. You did such a nice job on decorating!
I adore the inside as well, the little knickknacks on the walls, and the green that is very reminiscent of Rinkah were lovely touches!
Overall, a beautiful place that I would certainly recommend stopping in to!
And last but not least this round;
@zylphiacrowley - Primal, Exodus | Lav Beds W10 P31
I was curious, but then I understood. xD
Left your mans some pocket money since I needed one of those partitions. <3
Upon entering, I was absolutely FLOORED by the layout! You did such a nice job with the space, and it really gave me hobbit hole vibes! Extremely cozy, as the WoL's space should be. uwu
Overall a HIGHLY recommended spot to visit! Trust me, the previews don't do any of these places justice, but I wanted to encourage y'all to visit yourselves. :3c
If you guys have any other houses or apartments you'd like me to visit, drop them in the comments here or in my DMs and I'll do a part 2 when I have the time! <3
Thank you lovely people for inviting me to your homes! <3
#House tours#I love seeing all the creativity that people have with their homes#Especially those who make the most of a small amount of space#It's so cool to see the usual layouts flipped on their head#I definitely look forward to touring more in the future!

its important to go see a low stakes concert sometimes
#as in seeing someone in concert youre not an absolute nutbag about (as i have done this year and last year)#but last night me n my dad went and saw renaissance on their farewell tour#running on like 4 hours of sleep and seething to be at work right now#or rather i would be seething if i weren't so tired#new anger management hack: just get less sleep so your senses are dulled! anyway#funniest part of the night was the multiples times when my dad who is old was like 'everyone here is so old :/'#he was literally like 'if i ever get like these people just shoot me' LMAO#the concert was good i wouldn't call it like great or fantastic but such is the beauty of a low stakes concert#youre not living and dying on every song youre not singing along to everything youre just. enjoyin the show normally which is crazy#again as someone who has seen two bands (both bands two separate times and is seeing one of those bands a THIRD TIME soon) im crazy over#that experience is fun its bonkers and you definitely gotta do it for the bands youre crazy over. you gotta#but it was nice to just. have a regular time at a show#as far as the show itself there were a few little moments where things didnt go as smooth but that may have been bc it was the first show#and save for a few moments in some songs annie haslam knocked it out of the park she can still sing as insanely good as she used to#again some parts of songs were in a lower key? but most seemed to be the same and she was still hitting those bonkers high notes#so good for her. the band was pretty good but i felt they really only like all worked together well on a few songs#if that makes sense. but overall pretty good#and my anxieties about getting there and back were unfounded bc somehow it all worked. yay#our car service trip home was in a tesla i felt like i was gonna die the entire ride home lol#i am NEVER getting in one of those stupid cars again. big ass ipad as your dashboard this is insane???? im so scared???#anywho. old musicians are forever as ive been saying lately. and they really are#oh also we were at the town hall which is a nice small theater i was worried abt bein too far away but it's laid out really well#in that you're sure to get a pretty good view of the stage#it seems like half the size roughly of the beacon for whatever thats worth#OH i did see one dude somewhere in the audience with a sparks shirt so. hashtag represent#yet another concert report. yayyyyy#(im so tired)

the GREAT PATREON SMUSH
I was going to make an advertisement for this with bright colors and maybe animated sparkles but 1) I hate making ads and 2) we are all so exhausted by bright ads vying for our brain chemicals that I just don’t want to do that to you anymore!!!! I’m TIRED of things grabbing for my attention in an unending assault on my senses and I’m sure you are too!!!!!!!
if you’ve been doom-scrolling and need a break (a nice beverage, a stretch of the legs, etc.), take this as a sign to do so now. if you’ve got the energy for a little reading, though, and want to learn about my work - keep going!
ANYWAYS I’ll get to the point: ALL of my patreon benefits are now available to the lowest ($3) tier.
in fact, there ARE no other tiers anymore. they’re gone! scrunched! smunshed! stirred up all together into one big super tier soup of everything I offer now and will offer in the future!
everyone now gets:
over 100 4k desktop wallpapers
early access/wips
25% discounts on prints
livestream voice chat
art votes & art suggestions
commission slots
and access to the Art Grotto discord, a friendly and chill server with a small community of creative folks. we share art, writing, pets, memes, and also come up with fun art ideas together! 🌈
why am I smushing the tiers and giving up the higher pledge amounts?!
because capitalism sucks, we’re in a recession, and I’m lucky enough to have a full-time job that allows me to make art without being reliant on Patreon income. anyone who has sat in on one of my livestreams knows that I try to be a calming force in an often-chaotic world, and that I’m always looking for ways to make art more accessible to everyone. I want my Patreon to be a place where I can give back to those who are supporting me in this mission!
this tier smush is just the start of how I hope to transform this space! I have a bunch of fun ideas about stuff I want to do in the future, so keep an eye out for more announcements like this 👁
that’s all!!!! thank you if you’ve read this far, and here’s the link to the Patreon if any of this interested you!
#auropost#i'm moving more and more away from trying to create bite-sized flashy info posts lately#like i don't want to be a brand!!!! i'm not a commercial!!!#and YOU are not an audience/consumer/target market/number on a screen!!#you're a PERSON!!!!!!#we're all people and this is a conversation#i'm de-programming a lot of social media brain rot right now#i don't care if that means that people scroll past my text posts#because i don't want to resort to assaulting your eyeballs with a graphic#we've all seen enough for a lifetime. for multiple lifetimes#so i'm trying to do something else#anyways my secret ideas for new patreon benefits involve discord livestreams of all the tech travel i've been doing lately#and then my ultimate patreon benefit goal is to go on a tour of public libraries in patrons' states#where i can host public xr art classes with people in person!!!#i'm already gonna be doing this in la soon so if success keeps up i want to take it on the road#with a focus on doing classes for discord members in their own home states!#eventually i'm thinking about making the discord server public as well#but right now it's just a well kept secret since i like that it's small :'D#anyways SINCERELY thank you if you've gotten this far. even if you can't join the patreon i appreciate that you took the time to read this#your time and attention is valuable and i don't take it lightly. take care 💖

Brazilian architect Franco Luiz Faust and the team at Solo Arquitetos transformed this once-incomplete “skeleton” apartment into a comfortable, personalised retreat for him and his wife, Maria, with the goal of maximising storage and practicality without compromising on style. Keeping the existing floor plan intact and removing only the existing kitchen wall, replacing it with a large double-sided custom wooden joinery unit, serving both the kitchen and living/dining area. A built-in storage bench and oblong table in the dining area have an extra touch of comfort and colour in the form of a padded backrest finished in moss-green linen. The bedroom features a custom L-shaped wardrobe designed for maximum space efficiency, whilst the second bedroom, currently set up as an office, has been designed to easily be converted into a second bedroom in the future.

Solo Woman Designs Dream 1 Level Tiny House while Battling Cancer
Meet Cheryl, a nurse who designed her 10' wide tiny house on wheels while battling cancer. Her treatments have gone well, and she's loving every moment of her simple life.
A big motivation for tiny home living came from wanting to live more affordably in her dream mountain town. She had already downsized from a large house into a studio apartment, but the rising bills just didn't make sense long-term. So, she designed a single-level tiny house customized to fit her needs. It's full of fantastic small space design hacks!
Cheryl secured her ideal parking spot at Island Cove Mobile Home & Tiny House Community, within walking distance of downtown Durango, CO.

It's cute, needs lots of work, and doesn't look like it's in the best neighborhood, but it's a 1900 cottage in San Francisco, CA, so it's way overpriced. 2bds, 1ba, 740 sq ft, $699k.
This would be the main room. I'm assuming that several of the doors are closets and there's a fireplace, some ceiling beams w/exposed ductwork.
Small built-in dining counter.
Kitchen's not terribly small, but a bit disjointed. I think it needs a total remodel.
Directly off the kitchen, there's a decent bedroom with a wood feature wall and double closet.
Modern bath remodel, but it looks like a DIY.
Bedroom #2 is very nice- vaulted ceiling, beautiful window and walls.
A fireplace, too.
Plus a loft. I see that the ladder folds, when it's not in use.
This is cute. Talking about bringing the outdoors in.
Look at the vines on the ceiling.
Architectural salvage is not only interesting, but ecologically friendly.
Looks like a tiny private deck back here.
So, there's plenty of parking, patio area, and a cute little porch.
I would paint this nice fence black and put pretty plants in the planter. It's adorable, but the price is outrageous. 0.06 acre lot.

I was meeting a client at a famous museum’s lounge for lunch (fancy, I know) and had an hour to kill afterwards so I joined the first random docent tour I could find. The woman who took us around was a great-grandmother from the Bronx “back when that was nothing to brag about” and she was doing a talk on alternative mediums within art.
What I thought that meant: telling us about unique sculpture materials and paint mixtures.
What that actually meant: an 84yo woman gingerly holding a beautifully beaded and embroidered dress (apparently from Ukraine and at least 200 years old) and, with tears in her eyes, showing how each individual thread was spun by hand and weaved into place on a cottage floor loom, with bright blue silk embroidery thread and hand-blown beads intricately piercing the work of other labor for days upon days, as the labor of a dozen talented people came together to make something so beautiful for a village girl’s wedding day.
What it also meant: in 1948, a young girl lived in a cramped tenement-like third floor apartment in Manhattan, with a father who had just joined them after not having been allowed to escape through Poland with his pregnant wife nine years earlier. She sits in her father’s lap and watches with wide, quiet eyes as her mother’s deft hands fly across fabric with bright blue silk thread (echoing hands from over a century years earlier). Thread that her mother had salvaged from white embroidery scraps at the tailor’s shop where she worked and spent the last few days carefully dying in the kitchen sink and drying on the roof.
The dress is in the traditional Hungarian fashion and is folded across her mother’s lap: her mother doesn’t had a pattern, but she doesn’t need one to make her daughter’s dress for the fifth grade dance. The dress would end up differing significantly from the pure white, petticoated first communion dresses worn by her daughter’s majority-Catholic classmates, but the young girl would love it all the more for its uniqueness and bright blue thread.
And now, that same young girl (and maybe also the villager from 19th century Ukraine) stands in front of us, trying not to clutch the old fabric too hard as her voice shakes with the emotion of all the love and humanity that is poured into the labor of art. The village girl and the girl in the Bronx were very different people: different centuries, different religions, different ages, and different continents. But the love in the stitches and beads on their dresses was the same. And she tells us that when we look at the labor of art, we don’t just see the work to create that piece - we see the labor of our own creations and the creations of others for us, and the value in something so seemingly frivolous.
But, maybe more importantly, she says that we only admire this piece in a museum because it happened to survive the love of the wearer and those who owned it afterwards, but there have been quite literally billions of small, quiet works of art in billions of small, quiet homes all over the world, for millennia. That your grandmother’s quilt is used as a picnic blanket just as Van Gogh’s works hung in his poor friends’ hallways. That your father’s hand-painted model plane sets are displayed in your parents’ livingroom as Grecian vases are displayed in museums. That your older sister’s engineering drawings in a steady, fine-lined hand are akin to Da Vinci’s scribbles of flying machines.
I don’t think there’s any dramatic conclusions to be drawn from these thoughts - they’ve been echoed by thousands of other people across the centuries. However, if you ever feel bad for spending all of your time sewing, knitting, drawing, building lego sets, or whatever else - especially if you feel like you have to somehow monetize or show off your work online to justify your labor - please know that there’s an 84yo museum docent in the Bronx who would cry simply at the thought of you spending so much effort to quietly create something that’s beautiful to you.
#shut up e#long post#Saturday thoughts#this has been in my drafts for a week haha#also this is the heart of why AI art feels so wrong#forget the discussion of copyright and theft etc - even if models were only trained on public domain they would still feel very wrong#because they’re not art. art is the labor of creation#even commercial art and art commissioned by the popes and kings of history: there is humanity in the labor of it#unrelated: I did not know living in the Bronx was now something to brag about. How the fuck do y’all New Yorkers afford this city???

DPxDC idea that has been floating around my head for a few months now:
Gotham, given its whole... thing with Lazurus Pools and general bad vibes, has a ghostly representative. Lady Gotham, when she bothers to be coporeal, looks like an influential lady from the 1920s, straight art deco elegance. A real classy girl.
Jazz is touring college campuses around the US. She has full ride offers from Gotham University, Metroplis College, and Star City State, to name a few. Danny, upon hearing that his sister is going to GOTHAM of all cities, decides he is going on this trip with her. He might be only 15, but his big sister isn't getting mugged while he has half an afterlife left to live!
Lady Gotham is all a flutter! Why the last ghost king was so frumpy! King Phantom is so handsome and powerful, and he is coming to her city. She absolutely has to show off her best side! She feels like a teenaged girl getting her home ready before a new beau comes to visit. She's flustered, she's nervous.
Meanwhile, John Constatine wakes up with cosmic alarm bells going off because something really, really bad is happening. He investigates to dicsover that for the past three days Gotham has not had a single crime.
No murders, muggings, hell not even a single jay walker!
Gotham the most cursed place on the North Or South American continent is suddenly more squeaky clean than whatever small farm town Superman grew up in.
No crimes, no smog in the air. Crime Lords seemingly gone in a puff of smoke, Assassins asleep in their beds.
Its so freaky. Even Batman is spooked and he is never spooked by anything.
Constantine is certain some demon or other nefarious being is harnessing Gothams cursed energy for some evil plot. Gathering the power to use it like a nuclear blast. Batman is concerned about mass mind control.
Lady Gotham is doing the metaphysical equivalent of hiding all of your stuff in a closet before a guest comes over because you dont have time to actually clean. She had to shoulder the thing closed! She just knows that when the lock fails there will be a huge mess.
Jazz and her family are just surprised about how nice Gotham U's campus is. She'd heard it was so dark and dangerous, but everyone is smiling and pleasant to her! Danny is just happy Jazz is safe from various villains.
So we have Batman investigating his rogues gallery for mind control plots, Constatine hunting for demons, Jazz and her family taking a walking tour of Gotham U, and Lady Gotham using every bit of her ghostly powers to make sure her damned, cursed city doesnt embarrass her in front of her crush!
