ADHD tips from a girlie who was diagnosed in her late twenties and has had little to no support since and is being so brave about it:
1) Make it easy, make it accessible, and make it appealing. If anything this is the most important thing, all tips going forward are based around this concept.
2) That thing you think would help you but you haven’t bought/done it yet because you’re technically surviving without it? Buy it, you need it. It doesn’t matter if people around you might think it’s wasteful or that you’re lazy, you’re not, just do it, trust me.
3) Expanding on tip #2, if you’re like me and eggs are your main source of protein because they’re quick and easy and feeding yourself is a near insurmountable task- buy yourself an electric egg cooker, make a bunch of hard boiled eggs and keep them in your fridge for quick and easy protein to add to any meal (handful of crackers, a hard boiled egg and a banana? 5 star meal right there. Or mash them up with some mayo for egg salad sandwiches). Other easy proteins include: potstickers (put them in instant ramen), edamame (they have microwaveable snack packs), chickpeas (put in salads!), beans (can of beans microwaved with shredded cheese and some tortilla chips), peanut butter (with crackers, apple and cheese, adult lunchable style), and tofu (cut into cubes, throw them into a ziplock with some seasoning and potato starch, shake that shit up and bake it until crispy).
4) Spend a little extra (if you are able) on daily use items that excite you, it will make you more likely to remember/want to do said daily task. For example: the only reason I remember to use sunscreen is because I bought some fancy japanese sunscreen that smells like roses so I get excited to use it, same for laundry detergent and body wash! there’s a gajillion different body wash scents out there, switch it up!
5) If there’s a task you continuously struggle with take a moment to think about which part of the task is making it difficult, it could be something even as small as “I don’t put my dirty clothes in the hamper because my hamper has a lid on it and lifting the lid is one step too many-”, sounds a little stupid huh? But trust your gut, it’s not stupid if it works. See tip #2 and BUY A HAMPER WITHOUT A LID.
6) If you are having trouble starting a task, break the task down further, sometimes the way I start a task is just by going “Ok step 1) stand up-“ and so forth. Don’t worry about the task as a whole just take it one step at a time.
7) If you’re halfway through a task and have to stop, leave it out. All this, “Put things away when you’re done with them.” is bullshit. you will be much more likely to finish the task if restarting it is easier because you left it out plus it’s a visual reminder. You can also create faux deadlines like “I gotta finish this project before my friend comes over on tuesday because after I finish it I can clean off the dinner table.” etc.
8) It’s okay to outsource tasks and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise, humans are designed to ask for, and to require help (what do babies do when they’re first born?? cry for help!!) ask for help and receive help without shame, if it makes your life better, you are WINNING.
9) If you have one big overwhelming task that you think you need to get done before anything else, but you feel motivated to do other tasks, do those other tasks first, it’s okay. Otherwise in all likelihood (at least in my case) you’ll put everything off until the last minute and then have to do said overwhelming task and those other tasks won’t get done at all. Doing those smaller tasks also lowers the mental load and you can use them as a motivation launch pad to tackle bigger things.
10) If you notice you tend to not put something away/forget to do something, perhaps consider moving and storing the item closer to where it ultimately ends up or where you are more likely to see it. For example, my makeup, pills, and mail are all stored on my desk because that’s where I tend to do my makeup, take my pills and deal with my mail. I used to store my pills in my bathroom medicine cabinet but all too often I would forget because they weren’t in my line of sight. Now that they’re on my desk, I have multiple chances per day to pass by them, go “oh I gotta take those.” and take them.
11) Open storage, open storage, OPEN STORAGE.
12) Motivation can look like all kinds of things. sometimes the only reason I get out of bed is because I remember I have a fun snack and I get to go eat it if I get up. It’s okay to lean into those simple “animal-brain” type motivators, you’ll eat because then you can use that fun new kitchen gadget you got a daiso? Neat. you’ll shower because then you can paint your nails that fun new color you got? Fantastic. You’ll go to the dmv and do that annoying thing because you’ll take yourself out for boba after? Superb. Lean-IN to those small motivators, they aren’t stupid or childish, they are VITAL.
13) Don’t buy into the cult of “if it’s worth doing, do it properly” it’s guaranteed to set you up for failure. If it’s worth doing, do it in whatever capacity you are able to. I put sunscreen on once a day because that’s fucking better than not doing it at all and I sure as all hell will fail at reapplying it multiple times a day. If it’s worth doing, do it half-assed babieeee.
Go forth and prosper!!! xoxo ✌️🩵

Hi! Your description says you’re taking requests? ( sorry if you aren’t :’) )
could I make a request for going camping for the first time with Daichi and sharing a tent? I don’t know where this idea came from but I feel like Daichi would go camping alot and i thought sharing tents with him would be cute :))
thank you!! :)))
Daichi x gn!reader
Ahhh you're so sweet nonnie!! My requests are always open☺☺
but like i am seriously starting to become scared... i've been wanting to write a Yuru camp au for so long now and then this request came in😰 so i hope you don't mind if the reader camps regularly, it wont change a whole lot in the story anyways^^
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"We're finally done with the check in..." you sighed, walking out of the camp entrance to get the firewood. Thankfully firewood was free in this campsite. Your pockets were running a little dry after purchasing the new electrical cooker last week, after all.
"Let me hold it." your boyfriend offered himself up for the task.
"Daichi, you're already holding most of the heavier camping equipment, I promise I can handle this much."
You were honestly very pleasantly surprised with how interested Daichi was in your primary hobby, camping. He often came to visit you in the outdoors club and was very willing to hear about your recent trips.
So when he asked you if you could take him camping over the holidays you decided to make it the best camping trip you've ever been on. That's also the reason why that new electric cooker is currently in your backpack. A good camping trip is never complete without a good meal and the old rusty cooker wasn't doing it for you anymore.
The two of you planned this trip together, everything from the location to the food you'll be making. It was honestly very fun.
"We should go to hot springs more often. Especially me, since my muscles can get really tense after training." Daichi recalled the nice experience at the hot spring you went to earlier as you walked down the path to the actual campsite.
"You're so right... I always nearly fall asleep..." even when you run out of things to talk about, small talk never feels awkward.
The two of you placed down your things at the campsite, unpacking your tent to set it up. When he started setting it up on his own you gently stopped him.
"Don't worry, it's fine. I looked up many tutorials. And if I do mess up, I have you." he smiled up at you as he straightened out the rods of the tent.
"Wowww, who's the reliable captain of the volleyball team?" You nudged him with your elbow in response, smiling.
He simply nudged you back in response, but he wasnt annoyed. You could tell by the smile on his face.
.
Another thing you noticed with Daichi is that time passes by faster with him.
Why else is the sun suddenly setting right now?
"I think it's about time we start cooking dinner." you suggested with a smile on your face, warming your hands on the newly ignited campfire. It's time to show off your outdoor cooking skills.
Before you could really even do anything, Daichi was already setting up your new electrical cooker on the portable table.
"Since when can you do that?" you placed your hands on your hips, raising an eyebrow with a smile on your face.
"Reliability is my greatest weapon, don't you think?" He smiled back at you.
Oh, you felt like a proud parent. It's the same feeling you get when you see your underclassmen succeeding at starting a campfire for the first time.
But that just makes you wonder what else he read up on before coming here with you.
The two of you took out the rest of your food and cooking equipment, getting to work.
Even though it's only your first time camping together, things feel oddly natural. Back when you first began camping with the club, you often felt awkward, but this feeling doesn't happen when with Daichi.
Especially when his growling stomach was there to smooth over any tension.
After a good amount of giggling and light teasing, your meal was finally prepared to be enjoyed by the campfire.
The two of you sat back down in your camping chairs, watching the sunset together. Camping might not be as exciting or fast paced as volleyball, but it has that sweet, cozy vibe to it and Daichi finds himself loving it more and more as time passes.
Especially when your head is on his shoulder, the soft sounds of the campfire crackling are in the background and the gentle wind is blowing against his face.
He wishes he could stay like this forever.
.
The two of you slid into your sleeping bags, the gentle yellow light of the lantern gently illuminating the tent.
"Are you warm enough?" You asked him, knowing how cold it can get at night on the off-season. You had to borrow a heated sleeping bag from one of your club members since your budget was just not allowing a brand new one, so you were worried about how well it works.
"Mmmm, I'm very warm." He hummed in reply. He only talked in this tone when he was relaxed, which put you at ease. You really wanted to cuddle up to him, but unfortunately that was impossible while you were in a sleeping bag. Now you wonder if two person sleeping bags exist. If not you might have to patent the idea.
"This is eye-opening. I had a feeling I would enjoy camping but getting to experience it with you makes me want to do it again." He turned over to you and you had to hold back from giggling since he looked like a caterpillar.
"You say that like the trip is already over. We still have an entire night to spend." You smiled back at him.
He burst into laughter all of a sudden and you scrambled to find out the reason why, letting out a series of concerned "what's wrong"s.
"Hahaha, I'm sorry. You just look like a caterpillar. A cute caterpillar." If you could hit him right now, you would. Luckily for him, your arms are in the sleeping bag.
"Hey, atleast I held back!" You pouted.
"Seriously, remind me to camp with you again sometime. I want this to become a habit."
You don't need to be asked twice. You have a feeling that this day will be burned into your memory for a long time, anyways.

I got a little carried away oops🥲 i hope you don't mind anon

"Go wi' God…mo duinne."
He stepped off the ledge and made his way down the steep incline, bracing his feet against tufts of grass, catching at branches to keep his balance, not looking back. I watched him until he disappeared into the oak clump, walking slowly, like a man wounded, who knows he must keep moving, but feels his life ebbing slowly away through the fingers he has clenched over the wound. My knees were trembling. Slowly, I lowered myself to the granite shelf and sat cross-legged, watching the swallows about their business. Below, I could just see the roof of the cottage that now held my past. At my back loomed the cleft stone. And my future.
I sat without moving through the afternoon. I tried to force all emotion from my mind and use reason. Jamie certainly had logic on his side when he argued that I should go back: home, safety, Frank; even the small amenities of life that I sorely missed from time to time, like hot baths and indoor plumbing, to say nothing of larger considerations such as proper medical care and convenient travel. And yet, while I would certainly admit the inconveniences and outright dangers of this place, I would have also to admit that I had enjoyed many aspects of it. If travel was inconvenient, there were no enormous stretches of concrete blanketing the countryside, nor any noisy, stinking autos—contrivances with their own dangers, I reminded myself. Life was much simpler, and so were the people. Not less intelligent, but much more direct—with a few sterling exceptions like Colum ban Campbell MacKenzie, I thought grimly.Because of Uncle Lamb's work, I had lived in a great many places, many even cruder and more lacking in amenities than this one. I adapted quite easily to rough conditions, and did not really miss "civilization" when away from it, though I adapted just as easily to the presence of niceties like electric cookers and hot-water geysers. Ishivered in the cold wind, hugging myself as I stared at the rock.Rationality did not appear to be helping much. I turned to emotion, and began, shrinking from the task, to reconstruct the details of my married lives—first with Frank, then with Jamie. The only result of this was to leave me shattered and weeping, the tears forming icy trails on my face.Well, if not reason nor emotion, what of duty? I had given Frank a wedding vow, and had meant it with all my heart. I had given Jamie the same, meaning to betray it as soon as possible. And which of them would I betray now? I continued to sit, as the sun sank lower in the sky and the swallows disappeared to their nests. As the evening star began to glow among the black pines' branches, I concluded that in this situation reason was of little use. I would have to rely on something else; just what, I wasn't sure. I turned toward the split rock and took a step, then another, and another. Pausing, I faced around and tried it in the other direction. A step, then another, and another, and before I even knew that I had decided, I was halfway down the slope, scrabbling wildly at grass clumps, slipping and falling through the patches of granite scree.
Tumblr media
When I reached the cottage, breathless with fear lest he had left already, I was reassured to see Donas hobbled and grazing nearby. The horse raised his head and eyed me unpleasantly. Walking softly, I pushed the door open.He was in the front room, asleep on a narrow oak settle. He slept on his back, as he usually did, hands crossed on his stomach, mouth slightly open. The last rays of daylight from the window behind me limned his face like a metal mask; the silver tracks of dried tears glinted on golden skin, and the copper stubble of his beard gleamed dully.I stood watching him for a moment, filled with an unutterable tenderness. Moving as quietly as I could, I lay down beside him on the narrow settle and nestled close. He turned to me in sleep as he so often did, gathering me spoon-fashion against his chest and resting his cheek against my hair. Half-conscious, he reached to smooth my hair away from his nose; I felt the sudden jerk as he came awake to realize that I was there, and then weoverbalanced and crashed together onto the floor, Jamie on top of me.I didn't have the slightest doubt that he was solid flesh. I pushed a knee into his abdomen, grunting."Get off! I can't breathe!"Instead, he aggravated my breathless condition by kissing me thoroughly. I ignored the lack of oxygen temporarily in order to concentrate on more important things..We held each other for a long time without speaking. At last he murmured "Why?"—his mouth muffled in my hair.I kissed his cheek, damp and salty. I could feel his heart beating against my ribs, and wanted nothing more than to stay there forever, not moving, not making love, just breathing the same air."I had to," I said. I laughed, a little shakily. "You don't know how close it was. The hot baths nearly won." And I wept then, and shook a little, because the choice was so freshly made, and because my joy for the man I held in my arms was mingled with a tearing grief for the man I would never see again.Jamie held me tightly, pressing me down with his weight, as though to protect me, to save me from being swept away by the roaring pull of the stone circle. At length my tears were spent, and I lay exhausted, head against his comforting chest.
It had grown altogether dark by this time, but still he held me, murmuring softly as though I were a child afraid of the night. We clung to each other, unwilling to let go even long enough to start a fire or light a candle. At length Jamie rose, and picking me up, carried me to the settle, where he sat with me cradled on his lap. The door of the cottage still hung open, and we could see the stars beginning to burn over the valley below.
"Do you know," I said drowsily, "that it takes thousands and thousands of years for the light of those stars to reach us? In fact, some of the stars we see may be dead by now, but we won't know it, because we still see the light.""Is that so?" he answered, stroking my back. "I didna know that."I must have fallen asleep, head on his shoulder, but roused briefly when he laid me gently on the floor, on a makeshift bed of blankets from the horse's saddleroll. He lay down beside me, and drew me close again.
"Lay your head, lass," he whispered. "In the morning, I'll take ye home."

Wassail - A Holiday Drink to Good Health
Tumblr media
Wassail has a long history in Europe and winter holiday celebration. It was a drink commonly made and served at celebrations and feasts. To ale, crab apples and assorted spices would be added and allowed to steep. This drink would be heated and served in a large bowl so others could fill their cup.
Every house hold made their Wassail a little different. Partly due to what was available, and partly due to personal tastes. But despite being drastically different, Wassail may be the grandparent of Eggnog. Just another case of people getting access to better ingredients and culinary knowledge.
But Wassail is still drank to this day, though it's fallen a little out of the main stream. Each person makes it their own way still, but now it's more like an apple cider. You can make your own for the season, too. The word Wassail means "To Good Health" and is what people would often say it as part of the toast; which is how the name came. So when you make your Wassail, try to imagine the people partaking having another year of good health and prosperity.
Making Wassail
I make mine in an Electric Cauldron (Slow Cooker) but you can make yours on stove stop too. This recipe focuses mainly on Apples (Longevity, Luck, Rebirth) Oranges (Solar Energy, Happiness, Health) and Cloves (Protection, Kinship, Prosperity).
Need: -1 Gallon Apple Cider -1/2 cup Orange juice -1/2 cup Brown Sugar -1 Orange -Whole Cloves -1-2 Apples, diced -1 Tbsp All spice -1 Tbsp Ginger -2 Tbsp Nutmeg -3 Cinnamon sticks -1 Apple Sliced Widthwise (Optional) -1/2 cup Spiced Rum (Optional)
Combine everything into your crock pot/slow cooker, except orange, cloves, and sliced apple. Cover and let simmer on med/low for about an hour.
After some time has passed, retrieve the whole spices. You can let them simmer for longer for more intense flavour, but be aware if they are left for too long, the whole spices can leave a bitter taste.
Slice the orange into wheels. Stick the cloves into the fruit. Have some fun and arrange the cloves to look like symbols important to you. Spirals (a symbol of life) are commonly done. But you can do your initial, your zodiac sign, a sigil you made, or just poke them in randomly.
Place the Orange wheels with cloves on top of the Wassail. If you want some additional variety, you can add some apple slices. When you slice into an apple, it naturally leaves a star shape. This star shape can add a lot of spiritual energy to your Wassail. If you are worried about seeds but still want the star, try cutting out the middle with a small star shaped cookie cutter.
Continue to let your Wassail simmer on low until hot and people are ready to drink.
Tip: You may want to consider keeping the alcohol separate and just add right before serving. This way you can leave it out for anyone who may not want it.
And feel free to experiment! Check out your cupboard and see what kinds of whole spices you've been holding onto. I honestly do it a little different each year. The warm winter spices are your best bet. All spice, Star Anise; I might try throwing in some left over pumpkin spice this year. Do what feels right and hope it tastes half way decent :P

For Once and For All, Chapter 24 - Eyes of the Father
Summary: Bucky and the Dora Milaje figure out a way to defeat the traffickers at the castle. His return to Barton’s farm sets the stage for the next phase of his and Lacey’s life.
Length: 5.2 K
Characters: Almost everyone.
Warnings: Minors - DNI - contains sexual content, p in v, praise, and minor dominance. Violence causing injury.
Author’s note: More heroic Bucky, followed by romantic Bucky. Everyone knows you don’t mix bleach and ammonia. I figured if the two ingredients were put into a pressure cooker and heated to a dangerous level the gas released would do a lot of damage. I found a reference on the internet that a Dora Milaje spear could release a significant electrical charge so made that the means of heating up the pressure cookers.
<<Chapter 23
🏰 🌓 🌾
Several of the other captives who were listed in the catalogue as agents had listened to Ayo's assessment and began checking the kitchen, beginning with the stoves and ovens. They found all the knives were gone and the gas lines all turned off with no way to start them back up. They looked through cupboards; one of them came back with two containers, bleach and ammonia. Bucky looked at him and shook his head. That would kill all of them just from the fumes if they mixed them. Another one brought the first aid kit to Ayo and Bucky took his jacket, then dress shirt off so she could remove the four bullets that had managed to hit him in the right shoulder and his back, three embedded and one graze. Meyer, the former HYDRA scientist noticed the different arm.
"How did you get a new arm?" he asked. "What is it made of?"
"The Wakandans made it for me in 2018," replied Bucky, "before the Blip. It's vibranium."
"Doesn't vibranium absorb energy?" he asked Ayo, who nodded as it was common knowledge. "Can a small piece from the Soldat ... sorry, Barnes' arm absorb enough energy then release it to blow this wall out and take out anyone waiting outside for us?"
"Only if it is hit hard enough to destroy the piece, releasing the energy in the process," she said. "How would we do that and keep ourselves safe?"
"This kitchen isn't part of the chateau," replied Meyer. "It is an addition to it. Look at the doorway we came through. It was cut through the original outside wall. We wait in the salon, inside the castle. There has to be a way to feed energy into some vibranium, then trigger a heavy enough weight to fall on it causing it to release its energy and destroy this outside wall."
"Electrical power?" asked one of the agents. "We can connect the power supply to it."
"Vibranium conducts it," said Ayo, "then dissipates it."
"I can hit it," said Bucky, looking around then spying a fire extinguisher. "If I hit it enough times with a heavy object like the fire extinguisher it will reach a critical mass and explode. It means I'll have to remove one of my fingers to provide the vibranium then risk injury from the blast."
"You would remove your own finger?" asked Meyer. He shook his head, both impressed and bothered that Bucky would make that sacrifice.
Ayo shook her head and smiled at Bucky. "That won't be necessary," she said, as a thought occurred to her. "Our spears are vibranium. Together Nomble and I can generate an electrical discharge from the base of our spears. If we mix that ammonia and bleach into a sealed pressurized container, then aim our electrical beams at it to heat up the mixture to the right pressure the resulting explosion should take out that wall and anyone standing near it. You won't have to mar the workmanship of the technicians who spent months creating your arm."
She said the latter with a little smile and Bucky smiled with her. "Okay, we just need something that we can pressurize to hold the ammonia / bleach mixture," he said. He looked around and grinned. "This is a kitchen. There has to be a pressure cooker."
Everyone spread out to search the pots and pans. They found two pressure cookers. Getting everyone back into the salon, except for himself, Ayo and Nomble, Bucky positioned the cookers on the outside wall, near the gas lines, hoping there was enough residual natural gas in them to explode. He divided the ammonia equally into the pressure cookers. Bucky poured half the bleach into the first pressure cooker and quickly sealed it with the lid. He coughed briefly saying he did get a whiff of the fumes. Then he poured the remainder of the bleach into the second pressure cooker, sealed the lid immediately and placed the two pots beside each other. He looked at Ayo.
"How close do you have to be?" he asked.
She shrugged slightly. "Unknown," she replied. "It's about twenty feet to the salon. Let's try half that distance."
"I'm going to grab your clothing from behind," he said. "As soon as it looks like it's going to blow I'm going to yank you both backwards, hopefully fast enough and far enough away that none of us will be injured. You ready?"
He had already tossed the rifle to Meyer in the doorway, and he stood behind the two women, firmly grasping their clothing. Then he began to count down from five. At the count of one both women activated the electrical charge on their spears and aimed it at the pair of pressure cookers. It only took about 10 seconds before Bucky realized he could hear a rumble coming from the pressure cooker and he began to walk the two women backwards away from the two pots, telling them to keep up the charge. To his ears the rumble grew louder and he suddenly yanked both of them through the doorway into the salon, all of them falling backwards. The resulting explosion was spectacular, taking out the entire wall of the kitchen. Bucky sat up and saw the carnage outside as it seemed there had been a small army waiting for them. Most of the guards were laid out in various states of injury. Standing up and taking his gun back from Meyer he stepped gingerly through the debris and advanced towards the injured. As he checked the various chateau guards he noticed a man in a military uniform lying face down. Pulling him onto his back Bucky recognized General Viktor Orlov who was alive but in no shape to give orders. As the other captives joined him outside Bucky aimed his rifle at Orlov, noticing he was coming around.
"General," he said to the man at his feet. "I await your total surrender."
The General sneered at Bucky. "Soldat," he spat. "By now, my people have your woman and your son. I await your surrender."
"Yeah, no you don't," said another voice that came from the sky. Bucky looked up to see Sam landing. "Sorry, General, that little stunt you pulled at the farm didn't work either." He smiled broadly at Bucky. "Nice work, Buck. That explosion lit the sky up for miles. Made it easy to find this place. We've got emergency services en route. Why don't you lead your party out to the front to be treated. You just broke one of the biggest Russian mafia outfits. They may have to build a second Raft just for them." Bucky turned to lead the others and Sam touched his arm. "Put a shirt on will you? You're making us normal guys look inadequate."
Both men grinned and patted each other on the shoulder. By the time he and his group walked around to the front the ambulances were there. Bucky allowed himself to be checked over and one of the paramedics gave him a scrubs top to put on. Both Ayo and Nomble had contusions from the explosion debris that hit them as he pulled them through the doorway. He watched as their wounds were seen to. A hand on his vibranium arm caused him to turn around. A young woman who had been part of the viewing looked up at him, almost in tears.
"Thank you," she said. "I didn't think I was ever going to see my family again. You saved me and the others. They say that you used to be the Winter Soldier but now you're an Avenger. I'm glad because I can see you're a good and brave man."
She kissed him on the cheek and went to one of the police vehicles to be taken to the American embassy for repatriation. Several others, both male and female came to him and said similar things, making him feel self-conscious but appreciated.
"Feels pretty good, doesn't it?" said another voice at his side and he looked at Everett Ross, who appeared to be a little roughed up. "They rounded us up within a few minutes of our arrival. We put up a fight but it wasn't until the reinforcements arrived then the explosion happened that we got the upper hand."
"You should get checked out," suggested Bucky.
"Nah, I'm good," said Ross. "The biggest injuries were to my dignity and my ego. They called me short. I hit the guy who said that pretty hard when the explosion happened. Made him drop like a sack of bricks. What the hell did you blow up?"
"Ammonia and bleach in a pressure cooker," said Bucky, "placed beside a gas line and heated up by electrical discharges from the spears of two Dora Milaje warriors."
Ross laughed. "That'll do it," he commented. He offered Bucky his hand to shake. "I heard you're staying with the Avengers. That's good. You'll be a big asset to them." Bucky winced at the term. "Sorry, you're a good man to have in a fight. If you ever need help from a friendly face call me. I'll be there."
He nodded at Bucky who nodded back and Ross walked away. Sam landed next to him, holding the remains of his dress jacket. Bucky looked at it sadly.
"I don't like suits, but that suit felt great," he said. "The Wakandans don't spare any expense on their undercover work." He looked at Sam seriously. "They attacked the farm?"
"Yeah, the guy on the jet put a tracker in Lacey's arm," he said. "I think they expected you would find her and assumed you would reunite her with Tommy. Your safe house here is probably compromised as well. Orlov wanted both of you, father and son. At the same time he sent a force after us at the compound but we made short work of them there. Wong took care of the farm intruders then Strange opened a portal for all of us to get here. They slowed us up in the front with a small army. He's here now if you want to go straight to the farm."
"I should get cleaned up first," said Bucky, looking down at his torn pants. "Maybe to the safe house, have a shower and change my clothes." He looked at Sam and grinned. "I signed the contract. I'm an Avenger."
"Fury announced it," replied Sam. "We need you. I don't think there is anyone else who would have the balls to blow up a chateau. Where are you going to live?"
"I don't know," he answered. "It's something I have to talk to Lacey and Tommy about. I'm going to marry her, Sam, as soon as I can. Then I'll adopt Tommy legally, and we'll figure the rest out. You could be my best man."
"I would be honoured," smiled Sam, offering his hand. "She's a good strong woman. Any one who would wait that long for you has to be worth it."
"Hey Cap," called a soldier from a few feet away. "We have word of a couple of guards from this chateau about a mile from here. Think you can find them from the air?"
"On it," said Sam and with a wave to Bucky he lifted up and flew into the darkness.
Ross pulled up in one of the cars with a couple of the Wakandans. "Hop in," he said. "We're going back to the safe house and pack up before moving to another one that hasn't been compromised. You can shower, get changed and pick up your gear. Dr. Strange said to text him when you're ready and he'll open a portal to the farm."
Bucky sat in the front. Nothing was said on the trip back to Germany but it was obvious they were pleased at the work that freed two dozen captives. At the safe house he showered, then looked at the stubble on his face and decided to shave it off. Once he dressed and packed his bags he went down the stairs to where Ross and the other Wakandans were already going over documentation for another trafficking mission. He started looking at it but Ayo pulled him away.
"Go to your beloved and your son," she ordered. "They have waited for so long to have you to themselves. Your help tonight was invaluable, but we will continue the fight without you for now. White Wolf, you did Wakanda proud tonight."
She, the other Dora Milaje and the King's Guard all stood to attention to honour him and he crossed his fists in front of his chest in response. Pulling his phone out he texted Dr. Strange and a portal opened behind him. He walked through it without looking back.
It was dusk in Iowa, which surprised him. He didn't realize it was so late in France. He looked around him at the darkening sky, seeing a few stars beginning to appear, and hearing the sound of frogs in the distance. It felt better than that night when he left Lacey in her bed and hid in the barn, ashamed of his actions. A soft glow of light came from the windows of the house, and he stepped onto the front steps quietly. The door opened revealing Tommy, having heard Bucky's approach from inside the house with his superior hearing.
"Dad!" he cried, jumping into Bucky's arms.
Holding him tightly Bucky buried his face into his son's hair. "I'm back, Tom," he said. "My mission's done, and we'll have time together until the next one."
"Did you hear we were attacked?" asked Tommy, pulling away. "Us kids hid in the storm cellar while the adults armed themselves. All we could hear was gunfire and then an explosion. Then there was the sound of people falling and Uncle Clint opened the cellar door, saying we could come up. Wong was here. He took out all of the gunmen with magic. It was amazing."
As Tommy explained everything to him Bucky was distracted by the presence of Lacey. She was wearing a dress, just a simple blue and white cotton sundress that showed her shoulders and a bit of her cleavage. Her face was soft, as was her hair, hanging loose around her shoulders.
"We heard you were coming back tonight," she said quietly. "I figured I should dress up for the occasion."
"You look great," said Bucky, looking at her with tenderness.
Clint grabbed his bags and slapped Bucky on the shoulder. "Okay, enough lovey dovey talk," he said. "We've been holding supper for your arrival and I'm starving. Beer?"
Bucky nodded and Lacey came to him, putting her arms around his neck and raising herself on her toes to kiss him. He lifted her up and kissed her in return, a long, soft, sweet kiss that made up for everything that happened that night so many months before. The others went into the house to sit at the table while he and Lacey stayed out on the porch. Suddenly the porch light went off and they were left in the darkness.
"I got more memories back," she said, when they finally broke the kiss. "I remembered receiving your fan letter and you telling me to find a good man, take a chance on love with him, and running with it. I'm taking your advice."
"Am I the good man?" he asked, his voice lower than normal. The sound of his voice made her warm inside and she gasped lightly.
"Oh yes," she replied. "You are. There's no doubt about it." Even in the dark he could see the love in her eyes. "You shaved for me."
Bucky smiled and kissed her lovingly again before he put his mouth near her ear whispering. "I see you everywhere, in the stars, in the river, to me you're everything that exists; the reality of everything."
She laughed sweetly and it sounded like music to him. "Virginia Woolf, Night and Day," she exclaimed. "God, I love you."
"Then marry me," he said softly. "I'll do the proposal properly, with a ring, but just so I know that you're mine right now, this instant, tell me you'll marry me."
"Wait a minute, did you read my book?" she replied immediately, knowing that line was similar to one from a scene in her third book. His smile was her answer. "I'll marry you, Bucky."
Their lips crashed together with feeling, as they both continued to express in person what had resumed in the safe house. When they finally pulled away from each other Clint yelled from inside the house to please come in for dinner and Bucky put his arm around Lacey. Together they walked towards a huge spread of food that was more of a feast. As he loaded his plate, they asked him what happened at the chateau. When he told them about Ayo's plan of heating up the ammonia / bleach mixture in pressure cookers that blew up the kitchen and injured almost all of Orlov's force that were standing behind the chateau waiting to pick them off Clint looked at him with admiration.
"I'm sorry I didn't see that," he stated. "Outstanding, Bucky. Really. Talk about making a statement to the criminal underworld, especially after taking out the traffickers in Brooklyn and the Power Broker in Madripoor. A new sheriff is in town, two new sheriffs. You and Cap."
Bucky blushed and tried to underplay his contribution, but he could see Tommy's face looked so proud. He felt a swell in his chest that he hadn't felt for a long time, pride. It was a good feeling to do something right. Dinner was full of conversation, as both Terry and Lacey described their contributions to the defence of the house. Terry, in particular, joked about the secret room in the barn. Clint got all serious at that point.
"You mean to say you never found it during the Blip?" he asked. "There's an arsenal in there."
"Never found it," answered Terry. "Although I realize now that Natasha knew about it because she went looking for your katana during the Blip. Lacey said you kept a quinjet in one of the other buildings. What's with that?"
Clint smiled mysteriously. "Even though I'm retired I still help out from time to time," he said. "Fury always knew. If he really wanted it all he had to do was ask for it. Not that I have it now. After I was arrested in Leipzig they kind of took it away from me."
"What about the one you flew here after you defeated Thanos?" asked Lacey. "I don't remember it being returned."
"Shhhh," said Clint, dramatically.
"Do you think they would let me have one?" asked Bucky. "I mean, if we buy a farm. I know everything there is to know about raising goats from my time in Wakanda."
Clint looked at him. "Really, goats?" he asked. "How was that for a city boy?"
"They're fun," replied Bucky. "They each have their own personality. I made goat cheese as well. Got pretty good at it. It's up to Lacey though. I don't have any money other than my army pension, or a credit score for that matter."
"We'll talk about it," said Lacey with a smile. "I think we'll stay in Philadelphia for now so Tommy can finish out the school year. You'd like that, wouldn't you?"
Tommy nodded. "When are we going back?" he asked. "How long were we kidnapped?"
"A week," replied Bucky. "Seems longer, doesn't it? We can go back tomorrow if you're all up to it. Terry, are you okay if I live with you in Philadelphia?"
"Absolutely. Hopefully I still have a job," said Terry. "I told them about the kidnapping, but I haven't spoken to the coach since."
"I'll have to make a trip to the compound first," added Bucky. "Make my mission report and my motorcycle is still there. I have some things in a storage locker in Brooklyn as well, although they can stay there until we find our own place."
Tommy's eyes grew wide. "You have a motorcycle?" he smiled. "Cool. Will you teach me to drive it?"
Bucky said "sure" at the same time Lacey said "no." He winked at Tommy. "You heard your mother," he said. "Not until you're old enough."
Clint laughed, recognizing the conversation that all parents seemed to go through. "So, any idea when you two will get hitched?" he asked.
"I have to propose properly first," replied Bucky. "As soon as we can, I hope. I'm adopting Tommy legally even though I'm the father on record. Steve said you put me down as the father."
"About that," said Laura. "Fury set her up as Mrs. Lacey Chapman, married to James Chapman, not Barnes. He might be able to get that changed but did you put Chapman or Barnes on the birth certificate?"
Lacey made a face. "Chapman," she replied. "Sorry, Bucky. We were trying to keep under the radar and we figured the CIA would figure out Tommy was your son if we registered the father as James Buchanan Barnes."
"It's okay," smiled Bucky. "We'll get it sorted it out. Where do you want to get married? Philadelphia, New York?"
Lacey blushed then looked at Clint and Laura. "I lived here for so long that it will always feel like home," she said. "Would you let us get married here? I figure we could have the ceremony outside then if we clean out the barn we can have the reception in there. It will be mostly Avengers, except for my family. Your location will still be pretty secret."
Clint and Laura studied each other for a few long moments. "Of course," smiled Clint. "We could even rent a bunch of those glamping tents or a few RVs for people to stay in, so they don't have to drive or fly home under the influence. If you wait until Tommy is finished school, you can have it in June. That gives us more than enough time to clear out the barn."
It was Lacey and Bucky's turn to study each other. It was later than he had hoped to tie the knot but he also wanted her to have a real wedding. "June it is," said Bucky.
"Alright," exclaimed Clint, raising his beer. "Here's to a June wedding on the farm. I'll walk the bride down the aisle. Laura will be Lacey's matron of honour. Bucky, who's your best man?"
"Sam, but I would like Terry to be a groomsman, as well as Tommy," he said, looking at the two. "What do you say?"
"It would be my honour," said Terry, while Tommy just had a big grin on his face. "You need another bridesmaid, Lacey."
"My sister Nancy," she replied immediately. "Lila, would you be a bridesmaid as well, so it's even on both sides?"
Clint's daughter blushed and nodded her head. With all of that settled the rest of the meal went quickly. Bedtime came soon and this time Bucky willingly went with Lacey to her room, which was Clint and Laura's old bedroom.
"This isn't the same room," he noted when the door was closed.
"No, when we moved to Philadelphia, Clint and Laura took the suite he built for me and Tommy," she said from near the bed. "That was the plan all along. We don't have our own bathroom with this room."
"So no shower after," he said in his low voice. "That's too bad. I was planning on us getting quite sweaty then helping you get clean in the shower."
"Me too," replied Lacey, feeling the warmth building in her core. "I guess we could tone it down a bit."
They met in the middle of the room, their lips hungrily searching out the other. Reaching for the bottom of the T-shirt Bucky was wearing Lacey pulled it up and over his head. Immediately she noticed the dressings on his bullet wounds.
"What happened?" she asked, touching one gingerly.
"I got shot four times," he said, standing quietly with his head bent over her. "Ayo took the bullets out and they've already started healing. In a few days they'll be fully healed. In a few weeks the scars will be mostly gone."
"You had terrible scars on your shoulder with the other arm," she said, stepping back a little so she could look up at him. "Why didn't they heal?"
He took a deep breath. "Because they were caused by me," he said. "The pain was so much that I tried to pull it off at the shoulder many times and they couldn't heal. There isn't pain with this arm, so the skin was able to heal quickly."
Tears began to form in her eyes and her lips quivered as she tried to speak. "It wasn't just physical pain, was it," she whispered. "It hurt you deeply inside."
Bucky licked his lips, feeling a bit of anxiety at the memory. "That arm had one purpose," he answered back. "To kill. Even before I got away there were times I didn't want to kill anymore and I tried to rip it off of my body. Having it was always a reminder of what they made me do. They never treated the inflammation I caused because they wanted to reinforce that they had all the control and I had none."
"Shuri speculated that you might not accept this arm," replied Lacey. "That you might associate any prosthetic arm with death and destruction. Why did you accept it?"
He was quiet for a moment, then touched her hair gently. "King T'Challa talked with me, alone in the garden where I often took the calls with you," he answered. "We talked about his cousin who had challenged his rule and defeated him. All legally, according to their laws. I was still in cryostasis at the time, and they hid me from the cousin because they knew if he found out I was there he would awaken the Winter Soldier and use me to keep him in power. He planned to dominate the world apparently. I told T'Challa that I could never be used in that way again and he agreed. He did ask that if he needed my help to defend Wakanda in the future I would agree and I said yes, because they had done so much for me. When Thanos arrived T'Challa came to me with the arm and I knew I had to put it on."
"You haven't taken it off since," said Lacey.
Bucky laughed. "Not until I found out it could be removed," he said. "During the Flag Smashers I helped an enemy of Wakanda break out of prison. We needed his help and I fully intended to return him to prison after. Ayo and two other Dora Milaje came for him at the same time John Walker was there. They started fighting and it looked like they were ready to kill Walker so I intervened and Ayo removed my arm. She swore at me. I was shocked as I had no idea it could come off. At any rate, this arm feels normal. Within minutes of wearing it I forgot it wasn't flesh and blood. It's part of me now and is nothing like the arm I used to have."
As if to prove his point Bucky gently caressed her face with the prosthetic hand, then moved it down her throat to her chest where it lingered. It felt smooth and its soft touch was an invitation to proceed with what they had started. Crossing her arms in front of her Lacey lifted the dress off over her head, revealing she hadn't worn a bra. Smiling, Bucky pulled her close to him, so the skin of his chest touched hers. Kissing her deeply he ran both of his hands down her back enclosing her tightly. She smiled at him as she felt his body respond to hers.
"Yes, I want you," he whispered. "I won't stop this time, I promise."
They got on the bed and Bucky placed himself over her, supporting himself on his elbows. She raised herself to his lips, kissing him as he began to caress her breasts. As he ground his hips into her she felt his cock pressing onto her and she began moving with him.
"Take them off," he whispered, touching her panties, pulling back to allow her to do so.
Lowering his face to between her thighs he kissed the skin softly as he ran his hand over her pubic mound. Immediately Lacey gasped and he opened her folds giving kitten licks, holding her leg down as she writhed in pleasure at his touches. Slowly he brought her closer to coming then stopped and removed his briefs before lying partially on her.
"You're a bad man," she whispered. "Stopping when I'm so close."
"Darling, I'm a good man," he said in her ear as he kissed just below it. "You'll feel so good after."
Gently he took one hand, kissing the palm then moved it above her head. She smiled at him and put her other hand up, crossing them together.
"Good girl," he whispered again, then mouthed down her neck to her collar bone.
Grasping himself he eased into Lacey, going slowly. When Bucky bottomed out he placed his artificial hand on her wrists where she had crossed them. Slowly and deliberately he began thrusting into her, making sure he made contact where she was most sensitive. Her eyes were dark and luminous as she gave herself over to him. When she got closer to coming her mouth opened, gasping and whimpering with each thrust. Her cries became louder and he pressed his mouth on hers, thrusting his tongue deeply into her mouth as he increased the pace and force of his thrust. He could feel her around his cock, feel the pressure on him as her climax neared then she suddenly tightened all around him, screaming in her throat as she came. He released her hands then and continued thrusting and burying his mouth in her neck and throat until he finally came with a loud release of his breath. Lacey's hands ran down his back then to his chest enjoying the touch of his hot skin. Finally he stopped and laid on top of her before slowly pulling out. Bucky kissed her again, gently and tenderly this time.
"Am I still a bad man?" he asked.
"The worst," she said, smiling. "You'll have to try again."
As they resumed their heated connection with a chuckle both thanked whatever had brought them together so many years before. Much had happened since then, but they were together now, and both vowed never to be torn apart again.
Author's note: A reminder that Lacey's third book, referred to in this chapter, is available to be read. It's titled His Blue Eyes and can be found on my Wattpad platform. It is not an MCU fanfiction, although I assigned MCU actors (and others) to the moodboards in them. It is a romance and a bit of a slow burn thriller.

I've been daydreaming about buying my own house, knowing it would probably be a really shitty house because I have no money (I do expect I'll have to rent an apartment, instead), and was thinking that even if the house didn't have appliances when I moved in, I'd be ok.
No stove or mircrowave? That sucks.
But!
I have an Instant Pot which is self-heating and can be used as a pot on a burner (sort of), a slow cooker (sort of), a rice maker (apparently it's really good at that, I've never needed to try), and a pressure cooker.
I have a bigass, high-quality rice cooker that I'd thrifted and cleaned.
I have an electric kettle that's self-heating.
And I have a toaster oven that I got off a neighbor and cleaned.
No dishwasher? Handwash.
Things I'd need to buy:
No fridge? I could make due with a $200 mini fridge, especially if it had a freezer compartment. Another $200 and I could get a small, stand alone freezer.
Or like, this is $300 and would work in a pinch until I could get something better. Our standard-sized fridge is mostly empty all of the time as it is.
Tumblr media
No washing machine or dryer? Mini washing machines are like $150 and I can hang clothes to dry.
Tumblr media
Those are things I'd need, though I could also use a laundromat, having a mini-washer would be a lot easier considering I expect to be working 12 hours a day at least.
Can get a pretty good microwave for under $100, but that can wait.
Such grandiose dreams.

Breakfast, lunch, dinner – March 27, 2024
Today wasnt the best eating day for me. Between a few leftover snacks, like chocolate covered almonds, I didnt eat a lot. 😭
Executive dysfunction can cause some brain fog sometimes, and I didnt get enough sleep again cuz my mattress and pillows .... well let's just say theyre tired and expired lol. But I managed to go back to sleep long enough to have enough energy to make a quick breakfast of vegan grilled cheese with Daiya slices, 2 clemintimes, and a few pickle slices. I added pickles to resemble a grilled cheese order at my job lol (we use spears but chips suffice).
After finally gaining a sense of focus and reorganizing my kitchen to the sound of nostalgic breakcore, dubstep, and hyperpop, I almost forgot to eat a late lunch lol. I was pretty consumed in my efforts, esp since its been days since I could muster up focus and energy to get any tasks done. And my goodness am I behind on so much lol!!! But today was good. I even knew that I'd be busy with chores, so I put a cup of white rice on ahead of time and let it stay warm in the rice cooker. I unplugged it eventually to save on the electricity bill (which, last month's was almost $40 cheaper!!!! YEASSS), so it was a lil cool when I tried it. But before I started the rice when I sat down to eat, I finished a chicken siopao bun first. Always good shit!!!
I poured a bit of sweet chili sauce on the rice bed but then had a craving for platains lol. The local Jamaican store I've been frequenting serves them and while there a bit pricey I like to patronize there cuz i try to support local, small business in a town getting eaten up by corpo franchises and receding small business sectors. I drove out to the restaurant, got my fried plantains to go, and headed to my lola's house to pay a visit and also eat what I got there. (As an aside, I have a feeling that I got it that way bc I arrived 30 mins before they closed but they put the plaintains in a small brown bag, which couldnt quite handle all the grease lol. Just thought that was a lil strange but nothing personal or bad! The cashier offered a seperate bag to me to carry it all in and declined bc I was gonna put the plantains in my rice bowl anyway). I ate the plantains with my rice when I got to lola's house and while the commute made the food a bit cold, the sweet chili sauce gave it a bit of spicy heat to make it a good side dish to the soup lola offered me!
She is filipina and loves to cook. When I got there we were watching a movie, but shortly she asked if I wanted any soup she made, which was hot and sour soup. She makes everything homemade and since a kid I enjoyed her food. It was so good I had two bowls. I'll have to ask her one day how to make such delicious soup her way, so when she returns to the Philipines (one of her goals), I can have more things I learned from her. From what I could taste soup had shitake mushrooms, bamboo stalks, egg flower, and baby corn. So savory yet sour. And vegetarian this time! I could go for another bowl as I type this 🤤.
I left half the rice and a few plantains as leftovers but I might eat them as a night snack before bed. I like the flavor combos and I need to up the volume on my serving sizes to get adequate energy and nutrition. This "taking care of urself" shit is hard!
Salamat po, Lola ♥️

I'm a different anon, but I'm sorry to hear your audience fiddled out with the nsfw ban from years ago! Your art is absolutely gorgeous, and the way you present your ideas in them is so unique! Especially with the Chinese zodiac animals and the quotes you have for each of them!
Also, I'd like to ask how you started making art. I'm very interested to hear the personal journey of artists. Did you always like drawing animals, for instance? Did you go to art school or to a training of some kind, like ateliers? And do you make traditional art too, or is it all digital?
Oh thank you so much!! I do my best as I really want to just keep making art for as long as I'm alive. I'm really happy to hear you say it's gorgeous and unique ( ᵒ̴̶̷̥́ _ᵒ̴̶̷̣̥̀ ) Yeah it is unfortunate, but I still like being here and sharing art on here, so who ever is here to enjoy it, I'm glad! I only hope new people stick around and old ones come back, I've certainly missed getting to interact and chat like this! Oh how cool! I'm honoured ahahaha I'd love to answer these q's into my process and profession so far: I absolutely have always liked drawing animals. It started with dinosaurs, cats and dragons, I loved them all as a child, just their whole concept and how cool I thought they were! I wanted to get good at drawing so I could depict them and make my own designs, and in learning how to draw their anatomy (mostly big cats) my mom got me a book that had all sorts of animals in it and how they worked and how to render these forms. I devoured the book and I gained an interest in all animals through drawing and learning from it. From there I kinda just delved into researching whatever animal piqued my interest! Not to mention dragons (one of my prime interests) are amalgam creatures and so in my pursuit in being able to draw any kind of dragon, knowing a whole lot about different animals is a huge boon in designing them! I did, I actually went to a Fine Arts university as I originally was going to be a bonafide gallery artist and wanted to gain as much knowledge into different techniques and mediums and conceptualization as I could. I'm pretty poor but had stellar grades so Uni was a great option for me to get access to studio equipment and knowledge thanks to qualifying for scholarships and loans. It was like a pressure cooker for 4 years and I can only describe it as the best of times and the worst of times;; I have a Bachelor's Alma Cum Laude in Fine Arts. I do! Since I originally was going to be a physical installation artist, I know how to build and construct kinda whatever? I have a minor in sculpture and I've made something in almost every medium from paper to concrete to silicone to plasma cutting metal and more.

When I got out of Uni I unfortunately lost my access to a ton of this equipment and wasn't successful in finding a replacement studio due to the financial/location/funding cuts barriers. I kinda became disillusioned with the prospects in the art world at this time and realised this wasn't the only space where I could have a career as an artist. So I changed my focus to becoming an illustrator and character designer. I taught myself digital at the same time I was getting my degree, so I honed my skills from then to be up to snap for production level art. I'm currently art director for an indie game project rn doing exactly that! (Although this is one of three jobs I'm juggling atm, it's why I've been posting less these days, I'm quite busy ( ´ ◇`)ゞ)
That being said I still make things occasionally at my house as I still like making physical things from scratch when I have the time/money to do so! I like making masks and small sculptures, examples of these being this mask and this keychain :3c I always thought that the medium should be chosen based on what best serves the idea in mind, but most of my art is digital due to the production costs for making this art being nearly zero (as long as I have my tablet and electricity!) and having greater access to offer my artistic services with digital media ;o

RECIPE: Lemon Pudding-Soufflé (from In Praise of Home Cooking by Liana Krissoff)
This was my mom’s go-to pudding-like dessert for a long time, and probably one of my all-time favorites. Fluffy “soufflé” topping a tart warm custard; it isn’t beautiful or fancy, but if you love lemon there are few better ways to enjoy it.
Serves 6
5 tablespoons (70 g) unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 cup (200 g) sugar
3 large egg yolks, plus
6 large egg whites
1/3 cup (75 ml) lemon juice
2 teaspoons finely grated lemon zest (from about 2 lemons)
¼ cup (45 g) all-purpose flour
1 cup (240 ml) half-and-half
Pinch of cream of tartar
PRACTICE SKILLS
Using an electric mixer
Folding beaten egg whites into a yolk mixture
Baking in a hot water bath (a bain-marie)—setting it up on the hot oven rack and pouring boiling water into the larger pan. Removing the bain-marie from the hot oven
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Find a deep 8-inch (20 cm) square baking dish (or a 2-quart round soufflé dish) and a larger baking dish or pan that the smaller dish fits into—a 9 by 13-inch (23 by 33 cm) one works well. Use about 1 tablespoon of the butter to very generously butter the smaller baking dish all the way up the sides. Set the small baking dish inside the larger dish. Put a kettle of water on to boil.
In a deep bowl, using an electric mixer with the beater attachments, beat the remaining butter and the sugar together until thoroughly combined. Beat in the 3 egg yolks one at a time, then continue beating until the mixture is pale yellow. Gradually beat in the lemon juice and zest, then the flour and half-and-half, scraping the side of the bowl a couple times so everything is smooth and well incorporated. Set aside.
Switch to a whisk attachment on the electric mixer. Put the 6 egg whites in a clean, dry, deep bowl. Whisk until foamy, then add the cream of tartar and continue to whisk until firm peaks form (when you lift the whisk, the whites should stand up straight in a peak and not flop over). Use a rubber spatula to stir about one-third of the whites into the egg yolk mixture, then add half of the remaining whites and gently fold them in until mostly combined. Fold in the remaining whites until just combined and no large clumps of whites remain in the batter. Scrape the batter into the buttered baking dish.
With potholders, carefully pull the center rack partway out of the oven. Place the small baking dish (in the large dish) on the rack and carefully pour hot water from the kettle into the large dish until it comes about 1 inch (2.5 cm) up the sides of the small dish. Gently slide the rack back into the oven and close the door. Bake for about 50 minutes, until puffed up and evenly browned on top. Remove both baking dishes from the oven, taking care not to spill the hot water, then lift the small dish onto a wire rack and let cool for 20 minutes. Scoop portions of the soufflé (and the soft pudding underneath) into dishes and serve warm.

This is a pretty typical monthly grocery shop for us. To get the most out of our Instacart subscription, I have to buy at least $35 at a time, or there's an extra fee.
Tumblr media
Currently already in our pantry:
Peanut butter
Jam
Pancake/waffle mix
Tuna
Potatoes
Butter
Swiss cheese slices
Fajita size tortillas
A few canned soups
Canned tomatoes
Dry beans
Dry rice
A decent variety of sauces, spices, condiments
(mostly purchased from DollarTree, which is more like an every-other-month shop)
I'm hoping the mild weather will let some of our collards start growing early, so I can use those instead of buying cabbage. Fingers crossed for some early chives too, because they make potatoes or ramen so much better! I didn't put in cucumbers or tomatoes last year, but I'm hoping to do that this year, but that's awhile off still.
So what do we do with this?
Basically it's a lot of mixing and matching.
We don't have a stove or oven, but we do have:
Microwave
Toaster oven
Small electric grill
Mini electric skillet
Mini waffle maker
Small slow cooker
Sometimes we can borrow a pressure cooker, air fryer, or larger slow cooker
We use ramen noodles without the flavor pack as the base for a lot of things. Especially because we don't have a stove, ramen noodles are far more microwave-friendly than other types of noodles or pasta, especially for the 11yo who will not monitor for boil-over 😒.
So we do tuna ramen, ramen with egg, I cook the cabbage and mushrooms in our mini electric skillet, just a few servings at a time, or do a larger batch in the slow cooker. Add that cabbage and mushrooms and the frozen peas to anything for flavor and texture.
We do "ramen spaghetti" and use canned tomatoes with seasoning. Sometimes I fry bologna in the little skillet to add to it like pancetta. Or I use an egg, cheese, and balogna to make a poor man's carbonara.
The tortillas become pizzas by adding canned tomatoes, cheese, and bacon bits. Pop it in the toaster oven and it's a perfect one-serving thin crust.
Rice or potatoes can also be the base for lots of good meals. Cabbage plus potatoes plus bologna or bacon bits can go in the slow cooker for a few hours to become something adjacent to colcannon.
I often use rice to bulk up leftovers or add to canned soup to stretch it into multiple meals.
Using some ham boullion, I can make a bean & cabbage soup. Use chicken boullion to make rice & mushroom soup.
Beans & cheese on a tortilla is easy to grab and go. We add seasonings to the canned tomatoes to make salsa.
As a treat we sometimes get tortilla chips for soccer days so we can make nachos with the beans, cheese, canned tomatoes. Sometimes I get canned chili for an easy bump in protein. Kiddo thinks watching soccer should always involve nachos for some reason 😂
We also do a variety of sandwiches, wraps, quesadillas with the bread or tortillas. Egg sandwiches, tuna sandwiches, grilled cheese, pb&j, bologna & cheese. During the summer sometimes we swap hot dogs for the bologna so we can cook them over our outdoor fire pit. We use bread or tortillas instead of buns.
We got the most adorable little waffle maker which makes mini waffles. And we've been all over Pinterest for waffle ideas. You can make an incredibly crispy egg in the waffle maker, with cheese & bacon if you want. Or dessert waffles with a bit of cinnamon and sugar. Or spread pb&j on for extra protein. You can also do lovely crispy hashbrown potatoes in the waffle maker, with or without cheese.

THC Gummy Medicine for Asthma
.
Design Intent: Melting the medicine in the mouth slowly, reduces THC destruction by stomach acids and 1st pass metabolism by the liver improving dose efficiency. Some THC is carried in oral mucus to the lungs where it acts as an anti-inflammatory replacing inhaled steroids.
4th attempt / batch 2021 04 07. Lasted about 45 days. 5th batch 2021 05 18 Revised 2022 12 28
The 1st batch got moldy before I finished using it and needed to be replaced. The 2nd batch wasn’t strong enough to work well. The 3rd batch added too much citric acid in an attempt to reduce spoilage, it became a lung irritant. The 4th batch adds a package of unflavored gelatin and reduces lecithin to improve texture and slow how quickly it melts in your mouth. It worked well. 5th batch adds 1 heaped tsp. fine ground psyllium fiber to the blend forgot to add the lecithin. 6th batch leaves out psyllium and ups gelatin to 2 pkg’s from 1. Big Improvement.
Ingredients:
3 Cups unsweetened Elderberry Juice with berry pulp or Mango Nectar (Thick Juice) Other thick juices or fruit purees are fine. 1 Cup Xylitol ( Sugar is Ok ) 4 gm Sugar/Wax THC ( +/- 72% to 80% is inexpensive and common here ) 6 tsp. Pomona’s Pectin ( 1 pkg. ) and double the recommended calcium water ingredients are in the box with the pectin, just add water. 2 pkg. unflavored gelatin 1/2 tsp. Citric Acid 1 tsp liquid lecithin 1 tsp coconut or MCT oil
Put the THC in the freezer and freeze it to make it easier to get out of the package when you are ready to make your gummies.
Place THC in a small measuring cup with liquid lecithin and coconut or MCT oil. Place in the oven and set the temperature to 200 Deg. F to decarboxylate for an hour and ten minutes. In a small slow cooker, heat the Juice / Puree, while decarboxylating your THC. The THC is usually ready before the Juice / Puree, is hot enough for the pectin. Mix the melted THC into the other hot oils and add to the fruit juice / puree mix well. It is OK to use some of the juice / puree to clean your dose out of the cup you decarboxylated in so you get all your medicine.
In a measuring cup large enough to mix the dry ingredients in, mix all dry ingredients together into the sweetener.
Using a small electric hand mixer on low slowly add dry ingredients to the hot juice in the slow cooker. You are trying to prevent the pectin from clumping. When all other ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
The combined product will have cooled considerably while you mix in the dry ingredients and is easier to work with if you reheat in place for about an hour. We pour the mixture into a sheet pan 10” X 8.5” lined with parchment paper and refrigerate for +/- 24 hours after it cools. We then turn it out onto a cooling rack gently removing the parchment and return to the refrigerator to dry for another 24 to 48 hours before cutting into cubes. Our ruler is ¾ inches wide, Given our pan size the yield is 143 pieces, Using 4 grams 72% THC = 2.88 total grams THC = about 20 mg THC in each piece. I cut the finished doses in half as I used them.
After cubing the medicine into doses return to the refrigerator on your drying rack to finish drying your gummies. You may begin sampling when you are ready. The medicine will be ready when a dose takes a half hour to 1 hour to melt in your mouth. They should be shelf stable at this point.

Rockman.EXE Axess Episode 16 Review. Part 2.
Tumblr media
Uh, Netto, that is a Synchro chip.
Where were we? Oh yeah! Me trying not to kill Shuko after she starts whining about her winning the rice but her rice cooker is broken. Lucky for her, Higure offers to let her use his store’s rice cooker.
Tumblr media
Glad I'm not the only one who thinks so.
The next day we see Higure buying some food along with Netto, Meiru, Tohru and Mariko sensei who praises him for how generous he is to Shuko for letting her use his kitchen. Netto teases Higure saying that he only did it to impress Mariko sensei, but he explains that he sees a little of himself in Shuko.
Tumblr media
This makes sense, before the events of episode 4 in the first season, Higure was a self absorbed nerd obsessed with collecting Battle Chips by any means necessary. It was until Rockman almost got to kick his ass and Mariko sensei reminding him why he was so obsessed with chips, that he turn his life around for something better, unlike Shuko who is not doing anything about hers.
You know an episode is bad when it reminds you of a better one.
When the group arrives at Higureya, they suddenly hear Shuko scream!
Tumblr media
WHY WOULD YOU SCREAM OVER A RICE COOKER NOT WORKING?!
Higure forgot to mention the not very important detail of him not paying the power bill! I think that’s something you should’ve consider before offering to lend your electrical appliances to someone, which reminds me, can’t she just take the rice cooker home? Assuming she pays her power bill.
Of course, this is too much to ask for poor unlucky Shuko who just starts crying over how everything (even Higure not paying his own bills) is her fault.
Tumblr media
Shuko’s stupid scene upsets Aquaman.EXE so much that he decides to do something to make her stop crying.
Tumblr media
That something being somehow accessing the power company and manually turning on Higureya’s electricity.
What a terrible security! How can a small Navi like Aquaman.EXE even manage to get in the company’s computer? Even World Three Navis needed their Netops to hack the security systems before they could appear in the computer. Unless they are trying to say that a Navi invading a computer is already hacking, if that’s the case, then Aquaman.EXE must be a cyber criminal mastermind!
Speaking of the bad security, it finally activates in the form of a group of guard Navis surrounding Aquaman.EXE and ready to fire.
Tumblr media
This only raises too many questions.
Unfortunately, this only scares Aquaman who starts to cry, but by doing so he creates an electrical water barrier around him that not only blocks attacks, but takes out the guard Navis as well.
Tumblr media
Again, terrible security.
This quickly becomes news which is how Shuko and everyone else put together that the rice cooker started working again because Aquaman.EXE turned it on.
Tumblr media
Wait, did Higure leave his TV on before the power was cut?
Netto and Higure decide to go to the Electric company to stop Aquaman.EXE, once again Shuko complains about her bad luck and how evil she is and drops to the floor, making an annoyed Higure drag her along with them.
Tumblr media
My procrastination has finally caught up to me because I can’t seem to find the English subs on Youtube anymore, so I hope you have good grades in Spanish class.
Rockman and Numberman are the first ones to arrive at the scene, Aquaman can’t hear them so Numberman tells Rockman that he has to use force to stop him, which translates to Rockman using his buster.
Tumblr media
I know Rockman’s buster is strong, but why are they so shocked?
BTW, I didn’t mention Rockman’s new Rockbuster transformation sequence in the first episode of Axess, in the previous season his arm would just glow and change into the buster or a battle chip, but here it is more robotic looking.
Tumblr media
I think that’s cool.
Back in the real world, we see Netto, Higure and Shuko jumping over a police line to get to the building of the Electric company.
Tumblr media
Yes, Netto, tell the whole world you’re a Net Savior, why don’t ya!
Once inside, Netto sends the Volcano Cannon chip, showing off again that new animation.
Tumblr media
Higure uses a Meteor chip too but none of their attacks do anything. An overdramatic Shuko tells them that they are doomed because once Aquaman starts crying he won’t stop for three days and nights, emitting electrical brain waves, which is the name of his strongest attack btw.
Tumblr media
Also, brain waves?
Shuko drops to the floor again and lamenting how evil she is again, this causes Higure to snap and finally telling her to get a grip! He tells her how her negative attitude is what causes her misfortune, how Aquaman can’t stand seeing her overreacting her pain, and then insults Netto  by calling his happy go lucky attitude stupid.
Tumblr media
“The F*** did I do? You wouldn’t have a business today if it wasn’t for me!”
Netto asks Shuko, who is suppose to know her Navi better then anyone, if Aquaman.EXE has any weaknesses. Shuko says that his weak spot is the spout on top of his head, this somehow makes Rockman’s soul resonate with Numberman’s.
Tumblr media
THAT’S WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS? Rockman’s icon just absorbs the other Navi without their consent? Fusion should be an act of mutual understanding!
Tumblr media
Number soul Rockman uses his new super processing power to find a way to stop Aquaman.EXE, his solution, throwing a dice bomb to an empty space near the fountain.
Tumblr media
The dice bomb explodes and the wind generated blows away the water and startles Aquaman.EXE who is about to start crying again. Rockman analyzes the situation and tells Netto to send him the Elec Sword and Air shoes chips. Netto doesn’t question this and sends him the chips (using the synchro chip animation).
Tumblr media
Shuko cries out Aquaman’s name thinking that Rockman is going to pulverize the poor little Navi, however...
Tumblr media
It was a fake out! Rockman retrieves the blade before impact because he knew the Elec Sword had the perfect circumference to block the spout, with the added bonus of tasing  Aquaman.EXE a little.
So the day is saved, a new Soul chip with questionable origins is gained, and Higure hires Shuko to work part time at the store. Everyone is happy, including Aquaman.EXE, but then Mariko-sensei kind of ruins it by telling Shuko and Higure to be happy, which in Japanese I think it’s a word you tell a newly wed couple.
Tumblr media
HOW OLD DO YOU THINK SHUKO IS?! WTH!
My thoughts.
So I finally finished what I started, a requested review for an Axess episode, a season I hate, but as long as it doesn’t have CF I’m okay with it.
First thing’s first, Shuko is based on a character from Megaman Legends 2 called Shu, get it? As in Shu-neechan?
Tumblr media
Shu was kidnap for some reason by the Birdbots who took over the island she lived on with her two little brothers.
Tumblr media
Thankfully their designs get an upgrade in Battle Network.
Tumblr media
I remember I used to let one of them get blasted in Legends just to see him completely burned in a cut scene. XD
Aquaman.EXE is adorable and his introduction was fun, but Shuko feeling sorry for herself and not doing anything about it was so annoying. It would’ve been alright if she was oblivious to her bad luck, but when it is revealed that she calls herself evil simply for being unlucky, that is where the episode goes down. I know, her introduction in BN4 shows her as unhappy and saying that she is responsible for her family being poor and her parents dying, leaving her to take care of her twin brothers who are in junior high, judging by their uniforms.
Tumblr media
Anyone heard of an anime called Lucky Star? Japan has this belief that people who have a lot of money were born under a lucky star, while poor people were born under an unlucky star. Unlucky stars are also associated with demons, hence why Shuko calls herself evil in the anime. In the game, however, she doesn’t act like a helpless girl, she actually works hard to provide for her brothers, and was confident enough to take part in the Den city tournament. Aquaman.EXE only runs away because he thought Shuko wanted to replace him after he misheard a conversation she had with one of her brothers about their old washing machine.
The anime portrays Aquaman.EXE as an adorable child like Navi who doesn’t seem to know how to fight, he does have techniques but we don’t get to see them in this episode, so our first impression of him is that he can’t fight, which makes him feel pointless as a Navi. We also see him as a baby because he cries out of fear and not out of sadness like in the game. I like Aquaman.EXE, but the second half of this episode doesn’t do him justice, so now he is more of a liability.

1988 Star Streak II, RV & MH Back in the ‘80s, Lt-Col. Paul Jones, who had been with the U.S. Air Force, wanted a complete motorhome with all the amenities needed to live comfortably on the road and a vehicle that was still low enough to allow parking inside a regular garage. Jones used a 1971 Oldsmobile Toronado chassis and trim from Cadillac, but most of the panels, including the windows, were hand-fabricated. The motorhome features an aluminum frame built with anodized aluminum panels for the outer skin, which require no paint. Jones used polystyrene foam for insulation, and bullet-resistant glass for the windows, to prevent scratching. The Star Streak I engine develops 350 hp at 4,440 rpm and is paired to a 4-speed automatic transmission with front-wheel drive. The wheelbase is 112.3 inches and the dry weight is 5,800 pounds. This RV has gas and electric heating, air-conditioning, and even a built-in vacuum cleaner. There’s hot and cold running water, a generously-sized formica kitchen with a dual sink, fridge, and cooker. The lounge has a TV, a skylight and can turn into a two-person bed. The motorhome with antennas both for TV and radio. The RV also has a small bathroom that can change to provide a shower, and storage for a barbecue grill, folding chairs, and two bicycles. The Star Streak II was built in 1988 and uses pretty much the same as the first build: the chassis of a 1976 Cadillac Eldorado and a 1976 Oldsmobile Toronado engine. Even the layout is similar, with a kitchen block on either side of the aisle and a lounge slash dinette slash bedroom at the rear. The kitchen includes a double sink, cooker, and refrigerator, and the lounge converts into a two-person bed at night. With a total length of 270 inches, the Star Streak II weighs just 5,400 pounds. #cdljob #cdljobs #cdlhunter #ayearago #throwback🔙 #100yearsago #rustytruck #rustytrucks #throwbackpic #yearsago #thosewerethedays #throwbacks #thursdaythrowback #throwback #workingtruck #workingtrucks #history #vintage #missthosedays #chickenlightsandchrome (at CDL Hunter) https://www.instagram.com/p/CoR54L9uA6M/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
