First time trying canned oysters. Theyre pretty good.
For some reason I thought theyd be huge and thered only be one or two in the can. But this actually works out better.
Mild taste, nice flavor, and worked well with some spice packet I saved from a bhel puri bag I finished a few weeks ago.
I boiled it with rice in my rice cooker. I love this lil thing. I wanted to add lentils but it was too late so ill probably eat some with this tomorrow.
I saved half the oysters for later. Great that one can can last two meals easily. :-)

Doesnt look too great but Ive been havin variations on this 'everything soup' I create from leftovers.
I put lentils, leftover meat (if any, usually canned sardines in oil), and maybe one more legume in a mini crockpot and cool it on high. To season it I add a bit of salt, oil, pepper, and some Bhel Puri seasoning packets I didnt use the last time I bought some. Idk how to make bhel puri traditional since Ive just gotten into Indian food but so far its very savory and sweet and I like that.
In the meal pictured, which I ate earlier this week, I added leftover baked chicken, lentils, bhel puri seasoning, oil, and water. I remember cooking it a little too long without enough water, so it was a tad dry and salty, but aside from that the flavor was great and the bhel puri packet really helped. Very savory, slightly sweet, and pretty filling with rice.

Ill experiment later with making it a bit thicker like a curry. I want to add coconut one day. I love coconut and I think itll be compatblr with the bhel puri spices. At least Ill add it to the rice lol. I love coconut rice.
This meal is very simple to make, only takes about an hour or so on high heat in the crockpot and smells so good when its done. Its high fiber and probably really nutritious, and very versatile, so Im happy to add this to my menu to save money on food, save on food waste, and expand my palete ever more.

Leftover pho from the vietnamese place i used to work at just as good if not better reheated. Damn the fresh basil really hit. That sublte spice from the jalepeño. The beansprouts are like candy to me, I can eat them plain but they certainly added a great flavor and texture to the soup.
Im also using for the first time some stainless steel, hollow chopsticks i bought from the korean store a month or so ago. Im still practicing with holding chopsticks since ive never been good at it lol. But i think ive figured it out now and have improved a lot. I ate a lot of the cabbage and carrots with them. I didnt use a fork at all. My fingers are a lil cramped tho so ill have to keep practicing lol.

Used a really nice skillet pan I bought from an estate sale for the first time last night to cook dinner: 2 turkey burger patties and sautéed tomatoes and onions on a bed of rice with a side of collard greens I prepped and froze last year.
Very filling. Tho I think next time i wont use the lid for a burger. It was pretty juicy but cooked a lil longer and also how Im not used to. I prolly juse dont have a big enough stove eye for such a large skillet lol. Turned out crispy and well done like I enjoy tho.
I oolishly tried to defrosg the collards in the skillet but that took too long so when I finished heating it in the microwave, my burgers and other veggies got kinda cold lol. Was all still very good tho. A late dinner but a needed one. That was one of my only meals lol.
I havent been cooking like I really like because im battling cleaning in my house rn. Its so terribly messy and is a bit overwhealming rn. But! I managed to clean most of my sink out and clear parts of my counter which made the idea to cook moe comfortable. I also washed most of my dishes too. So next week when the farmers market comes again, ill get some kale to prep. I miss kale so much and its nutritionally dense. I can prep and freeze it and use it in soups.
