like. i logged into deviantart yesterday. and saw the official deviantart team page promoting AI grifters who make $11k+ a year on their website selling "adoptables". instead of, y'know, real artists? who actually deserve the money? and in that moment i realized i could not fuckin' use deviantart anymore, they'll sell out to the highest bidder. fuck 'em. my deviantart has become a sheezyart shill page.

happy 15th anniversary to that time someone on the neopets team accidentally released draiks, which - for non-players - are a very popular and once difficult to obtain restricted species and were not supposed to be. this only happens for the species labelled limited edition, which Do become available to create on their event days, and everyone camped out for hours to see if there'd be another batch drop later on (there wasn't).

STUPID TONUS lmao#(the site reason is it happens when the giant omelette is gone.)#oh right so there's this giant omelette. it's a daily thing where you can get free food for your pet by grabbing a slice#I think the lore is that tonus came from eggs. and that's why tonus become available to create when it's gone. or something

I'm so bad at crossposting but also because of my hand and devoting a lot of my art time to adopts, I don't have a lot of... Blog-relevant stuff to share atm???? 🙃 sorry
So instead let me show you some misc stuff I've done that is mainly relevant to silly little non-canon-to-the-blog roleplays i've been doing with friends.
Madame and Vesh are basically my current idea for Helob's parents, just smth I've been thinking on. Basically Madame is a giant spider that does her own thing and is kind of a formidable figure that has an almost cryptid-like status. Vesh just kinda follows her around cause he's weird.
Then the rest are just. Various ship babies because I have an addiction. (There's technically more than what is shown but. Listen. You don't need to see all that). Full ramble on all those guys beneath the cut.
First is some misc kitties between Star and Narinder, specifically Cat!Star. They weren't really given names or anything, and were more one-off design considerations so idk if they're ever gonna exist past this but they're neat designs.
Then there's a silly caterpillar between Butterfly!Star and Helob, named Psyche. They have a sister name Arachne who is half-lamb half-spider and she's so sweet.
Two more Narilamb babs, Ophelia and Melpomene, and this time they're between Star and a friend's version of Narinder where he was never sealed away and is still a bishop. We call him Ben :)
Fleur is between Star and a friend's lamb OC--Joan! Joan's popped up via stuff I've reblogged once or twice I think
And finally, some fellas that are from Fox!Star and a friend's version of the Fox, aka Skoll. These three are problem children.

finally got lucky and got two raffle markings on my heir within like two minutes of each other
#and he’ll be the only king on the site with both markings#a weird combo monopoly to have and it’s probably meaningless but i got it#the markings on their own seem to be rare in those slots too#AND he still looks good with them#im just so glad i checked the wiki because i was So Wrong about how the tiers worked#i didn’t know tier 2 was raffle markings only and therefore extremely rare#he still has at least another day of training but idk i might king him early#wyatt’s lioden tag

i wish my jury-rigged tivo didn’t create a file that’s too massive to edit without crashing my video editing software so that i could isolate the hugo frank scenes and loop them forever

lmao the neo clone I played over a year ago that had a toxic discord server, bot scandals, and a completely wrecked economy from day 1 has a writeup on r/hobbydrama now
#it got even worse somehow#I stopped playing once I found the 2nd bc the 1st's atmosphere sucked hard#comparing that and the one I play now is actually a fascinating study bc tl;dr the first had basically no features on launch#the main way to make NP was a very limited amount of dailies which. obviously. could only be done once a day. and you may not even win from#the next best method was restocking morphing potions. but only if you were quick enough/had the money to buy it in the first place#and the profit relied on it being a pet people would actually want#so you could easily lose money buy impulsing an unpopular species/colour combo potion you could never resell to anyone#popular combos were obviously snatched up quicker#and when I snatched I mean “all but confirmed rumours of a select few users making restocking script bots”#people had nothing to do and got bored so naturally they started fighting#that wasn't actually very tl;dr but you get the idea lmao#reminder: day ONE#the second site: added 10 daily jobs to do from the start for common restockable/junk items which could net you about 100k easy.#people actually made spreadsheets of the job items and set up shops of them in bulk for people to buy at a fair price#also a simple-if-tedious card game that pays out a cap of 50k and only costs 50np a round#you have more pet slots instead of neo's traditional 4#which meant people could now dedicate spaces to more “unpopular” pets they'd never considered before instead of picking and choosing#(for instance I have a royalgirl buzz! never really bothered with buzzes before then)#so more morphing potions get sold
