Remember those Inotan fan kids I made? Well I finally do! So I thought this time around I’d give an idea of their dynamics with their dads! And a little bonus for Izumi and Kotaro’s personalities

Tanjiro and Inosuke didn’t plan to have children at all due to the slayer mark curse, so Izumi (the girl) was a surprise... There wasn’t much they could about it do given the time period, but Inosuke was also adamant about raising the baby so he’d have something of his and Tanjiro’s left once he died.

They had Izumi very young, when Tanjiro is 21 and Inosuke is 20.

Right after she was born, Sanemi had his 25th birthday and basically waits to die, but to everyone’s surprise, Sanemi survives to his 26th birthday.

In this particular au, the curse dies with Muzan, so everyone gets to live to their lives to their natural end.

Tanjiro had already passed on the earrings very early though, wanting to see her grow up with them. He never ends up taking them back.

Soon after the curse is proven to be broken, with Sanemi nearing his 28th birthday and Giyuu making it to his 26th, Tanjiro and Inosuke have Kotaro.

Kotaro was also a surprise, but not in the same sense that Izumi was. More like a “we weren’t trying, but we weren’t not trying” thing

With that backstory out of the way, onto personalities!

Izumi (16 going on 17) is kind of the perfect combination of Tanjiro and Inosuke both in appearance and personality. She has Inosuke’s firecracker personality but Tanjiro’s good morals and responsibility. She’s easy to rile up but hard to truly provoke (ex. she’ll yell and get into verbal fights, but won’t throw a punch).

Kotaro (14) leans more into Inosuke’s features (much to Inosuke’s delight). He’s shockingly taller than the rest of his family, which is actually a Hashibira trait that skipped over Inosuke, who heavily resembled Kotoha. He has Tanjiro’s docile and kind demeanor, but Inosuke’s extremism, often surprising people with how far he’ll go (ex. he won’t argue with someone, but he will absolutely punch them in the face).

Izumi is closest with Inosuke even though he mercilessly annoys the shit out of her. They have a teasing relationship with one another and wrestle a lot. She’s almost as close with Tanjiro, whose approval she craves even though he’s the most supportive father in the world. They’re bigger on acts of service when it comes to one another.

Kotaro is closest with Tanjiro because he’s the tamer of his two parents. He used to be stuck to Tanjiro’s hip as a child, but at his current age they just spend a lot of time together and tell each other everything. He’s also very close with Inosuke, but Inosuke can be a bit too intense for him at times, even if Kotaro tends to mirror him. He’s Inosuke’s BABY BOY though.

Izumi and Kotaro are each other’s best friend. Partners in crime, though Kotaro is happy to be the side kick most of the time. They can be very sarcastic with one another, and LOVE pushing each other’s buttons, but they love each other more than anything at the end of the day.

i do think the most interesting interpretation of btvs lore is that non-vampire demons and mystical entities ALL have souls, unless they sold, destroyed or otherwise got rid of them (like the mayor)
