Being a random pilot in the DDF who isn't tuned into whatever nonsense Spensa and Skyward Flight are up to has to be pretty disorienting at times.

You'll be doing your job, minding your own business when command calls you into a briefing to tell you they're instituting a new buddy system.

You're about to point out that you already have wingmates when they drop a giant slug in your lap and say "This is BingBong, your new buddy. Keep him with you at all times." And the rest of the briefing is just them explaining how to get your slug buddy into his official, standard issue, DDF branded Baby Bjorn.

So I finally did read the three skyward novellas and I started Defiant yesterday. I am absolutely not terrified or stressed whatsoever about how the series will end 😃

I just discovered that Jorgen's initial inspiration was that he was a Draco character where Spensa would realize he isn't such a bad guy. I don't think I will ever recover from this absolutely absurd fact about him.

Watching Jorgen get Cytonic training is so funny because his teacher is always telling him to relax and be at peace which are two things he has never done for even a single second of his life and by God he's not going to start now.

AIDAN:

-Just uses text of its name

-Might use ASCII of the many spacecrafts it inhabited

-Colour? Never heard of it

M-Bot:

-Just a mushroom an eye (M-Bot) watching over it

-Might even sometimes use a full on mushroom png

-He only colours the mushroom, the mushroom is the most important part to him

The Thunderhead:

-Refuses to draw anything to represent itself

-At the most would use a gradient if forced

-Reluctantly acknowledges that people do see it as a thundercloud
