love how enamored Brandon Sanderson is with the stars. if i had a nickel for every time Sanderson made a world in which the night sky is always obscured so the protagonists could have a spiritual moment of glimpsing the stars and seeing the majesty of the sky I'd have two nickels

Mistborn and Skyward are also tapping into the same themes, the first view of the sky symbolizing the protagonist's world of possibility opening up

Should I get into Brandon Sanderson? I heard a bunch of great reviews on his books and the worldbuilding and the characters.

If so, where would one start at? Because that man has so many books like how do you publish that many? Write day and night like you're running out of time.

And red rising as well? That's another book series I've heard with good reviews and characters.

Okay, so I struggled with explaining myself to people for the past 17 years of my life, and it was only when I read Brandon Sanderson's Skyward series, when I realized... his depiction of Cytonic communication sounds awfully close to how I experience thinking? Like... no language, just meanings and emotions and ideas? It was really mind-opening to me, and explained so much to me!

Does anyone here experience the same thing?

I just wanted to come here and show the amazing plushie that my friend made me for my birthday some weeks ago!

It's Doomslug the destroyer!!!! Doomslug is my favourite character from the Skyward books next to M-bot and Rigmarole, and some time ago I showed one of my friend some photos of the taynix plushies that Dragonsteel makes because stuffed animals are my favourite things in the world and those specifically looked so cute and funny, and she remembered the name of the character (even when she knows nothing about these books) and took the effort to actually handmake this one. I really wanted to post it because the attention to detail is amazing and I think it deserves to be seen. Now I have a beautiful alien companion to read books with (and who'll finally encourage me to read Defiant and finish this series once and for all)!!!
