I wish I could repost Sky Sport Italia F1’s post qualifying talks about Guanyu Zhou.
I might (or not) find it online in a couple of hours. I advise others to look it up.

F1 Sources
I’ve been asked a few times about what F1 sources I deem as being reliable and here’s a mostly conclusive list
Some of these are particularly reliable for news about certain teams/drivers, and some are all rounders
Magazines/Media Outlets
- AMuS (Auto Motor und Sport), German Motorsport publication, personally my holy grail. Very good for reports on technical stuff.
- Canal+, reliable particularly for Alpine related stuff
- Sky Sports UK, typically don’t comment on rumours until they’re essentially confirmed but sometimes say the wildest shit with no real bearing
- Sky Italia, reliable about Ferrari
- Autosport
- Motorsport.com
People
- Chris Medland, honestly my favourite journalist, he won’t report on anything until it’s verified. Very handy during race weekends
- Giuliano Duchessa, great technical information and also really good for Ferrari news
- Tobi Grüner, AMuS journalist. Does tech stuff but also paddock news
- Albert Fabrega, credible Spanish journalist. Good technical source, especially for upgrades
- Craig Scarborough, excellent technical source
- Andrew Benson, BBC journalist pretty decent information
- Jolyon Palmer, very good technical information (but be aware he is employed by FOM so some things that he says may be influenced by that)
- Erik van Haren, this one is so-so in my opinion. Usually has very accurate news about Red Bull/Verstappen but also has occasionally been used in the past as a mouthpiece of sorts
Less reliable sources (imo)
- ESPN, a bit of a FOM mouthpiece (compared to other sources)
- Lawrence Barretto, FOM employee typically says/writes what they want
- Will Buxton, FOM employee typically says/writes what they want
- Joe Saward, used to be somewhat reliable but recently talks a lot of nonsense
- The Race, sometimes can have good information (particularly things written by Mark Hughes) but a lot is clickbait nonsense

A 10 day timeline of statements by Christian Horner and Helmut Marko in the lead up to keeping Perez
- July 19, Hungarian GP FP | Horner: "I think he's been in a bit of a headspin the last the last few races, but hopefully today were the signs that he's coming out of that - and the team are working very hard with him to support him and make sure that he does re-find his form, because we desperately need it." [source: Sky Sport F1]
- July 19, Hungarian GP FP2 | Helmut is asked to confirm if Perez has performances clauses in his contract that can be triggered by summer break: "There are various forms of performance clauses and, ultimately, it doesn't matter what a contract looks like, you just have to perform.” + “We'll have a look at the two races and then we'll sit down together to decide what and how things will continue after the summer break."
Helmut is asked who the favourite is among Ricciardo, Tsunoda and Lawson to replace Perez, he replies: "That was a nice question. I'll give a nice answer: everything is open." [source: ORF]
- July 20, Hungarian GP post-quali | Horner: "I think I have shown that I am very patient, but this was really the last thing he and the team needed. We now have to get everything back together, repair the car and see what we can get out of it during the race.”
Asked about Perez’s future, Horner replies: "Any discussions we have with him will of course take place internally and not in front of the media. But of course we can't run on one leg." [Racingnews365]
- July 24, commenting about Hungarian GP | Helmut: “It was a typical grand prix weekend for Perez: unpredictable. He continues to have this up and down, nobody knows when he will shine or when he will make a mistake, he simply lacks consistently good performance.” [source: Speedweek]
- July 26, Belgian GP Free Practice | Horner: "Checo’s future is in his hands. He has to have a good weekend, because we need his points for the constructors’ championship and McLaren has recovered a lot in the last races." [source: FormulaPassion Italia]
- July 27, Belgian GP pre-quali | Helmut: “Sergio knows that for the constructors' championship we have to have both cars ahead of McLaren if possible, and that hasn't been the case in the last few races”
When asked to set a specific goal for Perez, Marko refuses: “No, the goal is to win both the drivers' and constructors' championships, and we'll discuss the best way to achieve that on Monday [the 29th].” [source: Motorsport.com]
- July 27, Belgian GP post-quali | Helmut: “But it’s great to see Sergio, who has really improved. He will start on the front row due to the relegation and now things are looking much better again.” [source: Motorsport.com]
- July 28, Belgian GP post-race | Helmut: "Sergio had the opportunity to achieve a good result from second place. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Especially in the last stint, he completely collapsed, driving 1:48 times. What looked so positive in qualifying unfortunately didn't come true in the race." [source: Sky Germany]
- July 29, Red Bull Racing factory, Milton Keynes | Horner: "Checo remains a Red Bull Racing driver, despite all the speculation of late. We look forward to seeing him perform on circuits where he has done well before”

i mean, to be honest, (and absolutely nothing against you btw, cece) i don't really get why there's such a problem with sky sports having a british bias? i mean, it is a british channel after all. like sky italia most certainly have a ferrari bias, and in my country we don't even hear about what happens in f1 if kmag doesn't do well because otherwise the media doesn't care 😭 like i thought these were just the usual conditions?
unlike some of the other channels, sky sports is one of the largest streams for formula one. it isn’t just localised to the uk, it’s one of the biggest formula one broadcasts around the world.
and whilst I appreciate like sky italia, they can have their biases that focus on their country’s drivers, sky sports take their bias to a whole new level. we saw how horrible they were to max during 2021 and how they are inconsistent in their opinions when it favours one of the british drivers. it’s just annoying and unfair and ridiculous, honestly.
it took a few years for sky sports to finally acknowledge that max isn’t the bad guy they wanted him to be and he was a truly talented driver, but that’s been thrown out the window during the max and lando wdc battle this year. because even when max, lando and every other driver on the grid say that it’s not a big deal, sky sports will take every little incident and blow it up into a huge thing that’s just max’s fault. or at least imply that max should’ve been the one to act differently (god knows we saw them hammering down on the mad max narrative after austria)
personally, I think the fia are similar. they have bias towards certain drivers during certain races/seasons. and it may change who they favour but they are just never consistent and that’s been a problem for as long as anyone can say, but it seems like this season they’ve just stopped caring about trying to be subtle with it. even the other drivers were calling them out on it during the sprint race yesterday.
but anyways🙃this isn’t me trying to be a bitch to you, just more me venting about my feelings on this because the british media and fia are biased, loser fucks and need to change for the better

Italian media worships Charles like Spanish media does with Carlos. I don't know about who is paying what media if there is no proof of it. These kids just create unnecessary tension in the group and make formula one experience for people like us bad. I had people (Charles fans) come after me on twitter because I praised Carlos for his win while simultaneously appreciating Charles's drive and P4. I didn't even say anything bad but I had 29 "fans" come after me.
I am a newbie and I enjoy the sport but the way these unhinged fans behave makes me sad that I don't really have a platform to share what I think about a sport without any fear of toxic fans coming after me.
To be honest everyone is in the same boat as you, every genuine charlos fan is struggling. They are just few people that are truly non toxic on twitter and even on tumblr.
But my issue is that not just Spanish media, every other channel streaming f1 is against Charles. Sky sports Italia had his own issues last year. The main stream media has a problem with him. That is not cool even if we leave the Italian and Spanish media channels.

i genuinely find it hilarious that nico was gone from the paddock for a year and then in his first race back he was doing triple duty for Sky Sports F1, Sky Sports Italia, and RTL. every F1 producer in Europe knows that nico is the best they can get. they've been dealing with idiots and randoms all this time but now he's allowed back they are desperate to use him. britney's legacy of walking into the paddock and sending everyone wild continues
they got his polyglot ass working triple shifts in 3 different languages 😭😭😭 no longer unemployed let's goooo 🥳 seriously...... having to settle for sky sucking british dick and paul di rest in piss.... you have someone on the paddock who can actually grill the drivers and stir shit 😄 he's also perceptive!!! and clever!!! he literally said to count on verstappen pole and that redbull wasn't showing their full power (which yeah, in retrospect is super obvious but rmbr during fp3 aston was p1) anyways I'm happy he's back.......

Charles Leclerc to Sky sport f1 Italia
“Charles, are those 48 thousands of a second a reason of happiness or disappointment?”
“God, it’s a hard question... emh... Well, we need to be happy ‘cause it’s very difficult to express with words how much work there has been in the factory to bring these upgrades earlier than planned. The guys have done an incredible job and pushed like crazy. That made the difference!
The feeling with the car is good. That being said I’m never happy with a second place. So I'm not super happy about the second place, but I’m super happy about the team’s work” he was laughing while saying this
“Have you made the difference overdriving the car? Especially in the last two corners, where, compared to Redbull, you were struggling a bit more”
“I struggled more in Q1 and Q2, but I was using those sessions as the steps to prepare Q3. In Q3 I did the best possible lap and put everything I wanted in the lap that counted the most. 4 hundreds from pole is a good starting point for Sunday”
“So, on Sunday, two against one... Is it doable?”
“We’ll try. We can’t hide that the race pace is where Redbull is really strong right now, but I’ll try everything. If Max will leave any opportunity I’ll take it... and then wie’ll see where we’ll end the race”

So tell me again how Formula 1 is not a boys club and the sport is not overtly misogynistic?
Glad the drivers at least appear not to hold these views, but sadly 20/23 in a sea of that many is far too few.

the lando hate is so forced it's getting so old so quickly. even if he loses the championship, he did one hell of a job this year. what happened today was genuinely exhausting just to watch it can't even fathom what it was like to live it.
even worse for him with the added pression of being the first contender for the win, for the championship and an ugly weekend behind him? with a team that still doesn't give him the full trust after 6 years.
i got mad at the sky sports italia commentators too for this because actually what the fuck? just because he's lando he can't do mistakes??? the first year ever since when he's been in formula 1 where he has an actual competitive car, and he can't even try and aim for something because he's lando and he's underserving of it?
says who exactly?
you all love to preach that these drivers are humans with feelings, that their mental health matters, that you shouldn't wish them ill... not when it's him tho. you all scream that he's not fit to be an f1 champion... and then accuse him of being arrogant and selfish. 🫥 pick a version already.

i dont how it works in other countries but on sky italia (every sport not just f1) you can mute commentary and you just hear the cars go vroom vroom, it's beautiful
you do not understand how unbelievably jealous i am right now omg that is NOT how it works in other countries (or at least in america)

Ada Apa Dengan Ferrari?
Tumblr media
Iya, kalian gak salah baca.
Oke, sekarang kita balik ke Ferrari dan bertanya "what the hell is going on there?" karena 1.)
Lalu Carlos Sainz...
